“ One of the most famous and unmissable beaches during a trip to Salento, and probably one of the most beautiful in Italy, is Porto Selvaggio. It is a place to say the least magical and surrounded by nature, in fact Porto Selvaggio is located in a Natural Reserve. The beach is reached by a long walk in the woods! ”

“Have you ever wondered why the soil in Puglia looks so redish? Why do you often find red striped in the stones used to build Puglia's traditional stone buildings? The Grotte di Castellana are beautiful natural caves, among the most important in Italy. You will be taken on a trail inside the caves, no need for hiking experience just non-slippery shoes are recommended. Ideal for children and anyone interested in knowing more about the geology and landscape of the area They can be visited on rainy days, however there will be water inside two days after the rainfalls as water takes time to penetrate down the earth.”

“Pollino National Park (Italian: Parco Nazionale del Pollino) is a national park in southern Italy that straddles the regions of Basilicata and Calabria. It is Italy's largest national park, covering 1,925.65 square kilometers.[1][2] The park includes the Pollino and Orsomarso massifs, which are part of the southern Apennine Mountains. The park's highest point is Serra Dolcedorme, which is 2,267 meters high.[3] The park's symbol is the rare Bosnian pine tree. The common beech is the park's most prevalent tree. The park is also home to a variety of medicinal herbs.[4] The park is home of the oldest Europeen tree, a Heldreich's pine estimated 1,230 years old.”

“The solemn Basilica of Santa Croce is a glimpse you don't expect, a sumptuous feast of stone that unfolds in front of the eyes of whoever strolls along Umberto I avenue, not far from Sant'Oronzo square, in Lecce, the very symbol of Lecce's Baroque. Built by the count of Lecce in 1353. The façade is punctuated by a series of columns, featuring a balcony with a balustrade, supported by figured corbels. The triumph of decorations is simply mind-blowing, while at the centre of this explosion of low reliefs and sculptures in Lecce stone stands out a magnificent large rose window fully decorated. The interior features a Latin-cross layout and a hemispherical dome. Definitely worth visiting.”

“The National Archaeological Museum of Taranto, the Marta, contains one of the most important archaeological collections in Italy and is located in the former Convent of San Pasquale di Babylon, near the Gardens of Piazza Garibaldi. The rooms of the raised floors are today the realm of archeology, with over two hundred thousand finds and artifacts ranging from Prehistory to the Middle Ages: the visit route follows a chronological order starting from the 5th millennium BC The first contacts of the indigenous Ipanians with the Aegean world precede the Spartan colonization of the Gulf of Taranto, while we admire objects of daily life, linked to the cult and funeral rituals of the Greek city.”

“In the splendid setting of the typical narrow streets and whitewashed houses Riccardo Caffe is the most suggestive lounge bar in Ostuni. It is located in the center of the Old Town not far from the ancient city wall. Don't miss a look inside the three ancient rooms of natural stones used as a mill several centuries ago. One of the best and fashionable place in Puglia where to drink tasty and fresh cocktails”

“Matera is a unique and fascinating town steeped in history. Thought to be one of the world’s oldest towns dating back as far as the Palaeolithic times, Matera is now a popular tourist spot boasting hundreds of ancient caves, rock churches, delicious local cuisine and typical shops. The most famous part of Matera is the Sassi district, now designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and the 2019 European Capital of Culture. Here you can see hundreds of troglodyte dwellings and churches dug out of the rock. The cave dwellings were lived in until the 1950’s and are the most extensive example of their kind in the Mediterranean. ”

“"Best food in Italy" said one guest. For sure the best Pugliese traditional food in the area. Top menu item is fresh orecchiette pasta with brasciole (rolled meat, cheese and celery leaves) based tomato sauce or even better with seasonal cime di rape' green sauce in the winter! ”
