Enjoy the mountain sunset view from your 700+ square foot suite. The space is part of our home, privately located on 43 acres with plenty of hiking opportunities. 10 miles from downtown (Website hidden by Airbnb) restaurants, interesting nightlife, music, art galleries, Southern hospitality and eclectic vibe. 3 miles south of Weaverville. Delicious cooked breakfast on the Weekends. Weekdays - homemade muffins or coffee cake + cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, juices, coffee, tea. No cleaning fees.
Relax in your comfortable 700+ square foot suite located on the main floor of our one story home on 43 acres. 10 minutes from downtown Asheville. Suitable for one person or couple, with its comfortable double bed, your own bathroom/shower and of course the inviting Living room with its long range western view over the French Broad River Valley. Be sure to click on photos to see more. Enjoy the same view accompanied by the happy sounds of the babbling brook while eating breakfast at the Kitchen table or outside on any of the decks. Should you feel like stretching your legs, our two large friendly dogs Sunny & Shadow would be happy to accompany you on our 43 acres of hiking trails just outside your private entrance. Stroll through Sharon’s flower and square foot gardens. Follow the stream up the mountain. Relax sitting on a comfortable swing as you enjoy the mountain view and let the sight & sound of the babbling brook carry your cares away. You’re only 200 yards from the house...with more unique “pretty places” and 3 more swings along several private hiking trails if you would like to indulge yourself with a longer walk in the woods. Of course we’re also happy to share information on the many hikes we know in nearby National Forests. Including Mount Mitchell and Craggy Dome...a short, beautiful drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. When you've had enough of the woods (if that’s possible) you are 10 miles from Downtown Asheville, best known for its diverse restaurants, interesting night life, fabulous music, art galleries, street musicians, Southern hospitality and eclectic vibe. You are also less than 4 miles to the quaint, artsy town of Weaverville and its interesting eateries. If you happen to be here on a Saturday or Sunday morning you'll have a choice of: -French toast; -Homemade buttermilk biscuits & gravy with sausage patties or bacon & eggs; -Pancakes made with gluten free flour, wheat germ, oat bran, almond milk & eggs; -Bacon or sausage, eggs & homemade herb batter bread; -Homemade herb batter bread or buttermilk biscuits turkey bacon & eggs; -Sweet potato, kale, bacon, sausage, egg casserole; -Bacon quiche, -Caramelized onion breakfast casserole made with bacon, broccoli, eggs, sourdough bread, sweet onion & swiss cheese; -Egg in a basket with bacon or sausage patties. Or if you prefer we always have: cereal, fruit, home made muffins or coffee cake, bagels/cream cheese, English muffins, toast, yogurt, oatmeal and of course coffee, tea & juice. Please understand that our entire house is heated in the winter by the wood stove in the living room of Sunset Sweet and occasionally needs our attention. The room divider still provides privacy...but a bit less then when the wood stove is not in use. Keep in mind, should it snow, having a four wheel drive vehicle is highly recommended to get up our driveway. However even when it does snow it's usually melted by the next day. I'm generally flexible on when you check in and when you check out as long as I don't have anyone leaving on the morning of your arrival or arriving on the day of your departure. On those days check in is after 2pm and checkout is by 12pm. Just ask me if we have guests coming or going.

  • Very nice people and roomy space for us. We had not only a private bedroom and bath but an ante room to store our luggage and our own living area with TV! 3 minutes to town of Weaverville which is a really cool little town. 15 minutes to downtown Asheville. Room comes with breakfast and a great mountain view.

  • We were fortunate enough to stay at the Sunset Sweet this last weekend. It was just as described. Sharon and Gary were wonderful hosts. Our only disappointment was that we were too early for colors of the leaves. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

  • My friend and I had a wonderful stay at Sharon and Gary's place. We talked to Sharon quite a bit and it was really nice getting to know her. She was tremendously helpful. We had breakfast with her and Gary on our last day and it was just so nice to get to know these good people. Their place is a wonderful retreat away from everything. Fresh air in the mountains, beautiful gardens, and only 20 minutes from downtown Asheville. It was my friend's first visit to the area and she was just so impressed and grateful. I felt very fortunate to have stayed at this place.

  • I had decided at the last minute to book a 3 night weekend getaway and was glad to find such a nice, reasonable place to stay like Sunset Sweet. Sharon and Gary were great hosts and they have such a cozy home. Sharon provided a delicious breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday, but I decided to grab breakfast at Biscuit Head before heading back home Monday morning. The location is convenient to both downtown Weaverville and Asheville, but rural enough to allow for lots of stargazing on a clear night. I loved getting to meet their pups, Shadow and Sunny, and their cat Spazz, and enjoyed going on a short hike through their property with Sharon. I greatly appreciated their hospitality and great conversation, and hope to be back another time.

    Brittany2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Gary and Sharon are wonderful hosts and made this our best trip to the area to date over ten years of travel . The views from their home are spectacular and mixed with the gardens and trails from the house provide a perfect place to stay.

    Iain2014-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon and Garry's place is a beautiful haven in the mountains. Their 43-acre house is perfect for a single or couple's getaway. In my three years of Air BnB-ing, they are the best hosts, including their dogs Sunny and Shadow. The dogs welcomed me when I arrived and they became my friends. They tagged along on my hike with Sharon on their property. Sunny and Shadow are adorable gentle giants! Sharon was willing to accommodate my late check-in but, since my car broke down and I missed a night's stay, she was really generous in offering me an extra night free of charge. I had great conversations with them over breakfast--homemade muffins, cereal, yogurt and fresh fruits. Sharon's communication gets 11 out of 10; she contacted me beforehand to learn the goals of my trip and, while there, they recommended hikes around the area and restaurants. The house is about 15 minutes from Asheville so you can enjoy Asheville's happenings and come back to your quiet, calm and zen mountain home. Their house is safe, clean and welcoming; it is everything you need for a peaceful and relaxing vacation.

  • We had a wonderful stay! Loved the location & property...the breakfasts were amazing both days!!...lots of good advice from Sharon & Gary (especially the bakery/deli in Weaverville)...and fun to have pets! The dogs are beautiful, low-key dogs...Sunny joined us on our hike around the property and it was fun to have her lead the way! :)

  • If I had one word to describe the Inn on Westwood, it would be "amazing". Starting with Molly's awesome recommendations on places to go, her friendly welcome upon arrival, and super fast communication along the way added up to a stress free booking and stay. The Inn itself is nothing short of stunning. Staying there felt like living in the pages of a Southern Living magazine, and I'm pretty sure I've never been anywhere cleaner in my life. To top it all off, the kitchen was well stocked with organic foods and every morning around 8:30 a delicious package of local pastries or donuts were waiting for is to consume in the gorgeous kitchen or on the scenic porch. All and all I'd say we couldn't have dreamed up a better place to stay. We'd gladly stay here again! Heck, we didn't even want to leave in the first place ;)

    Curtis2015-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our hosts were amazing. Beer and wine in the fridge with some fruit and snacks. House is gorgeous, bigger than in the photos. Fresh muffins and bagels in the morning, gourmet coffee provided too. Really a great experience. Neat old house with 20 foot ceilings and great detail throughout. We are planning on staying there again next time we go to Asheville. Thanks Molly!

  • The Inn on Westwood - Atkinson Place was beautiful! The home was just as depicted online, maybe even better! We enjoyed unwinding after a long day on the back porch. Robert, Caroline, and Molly were very hospitable. We were greeted upon arrival and shown a very warm welcome. The kitchen was stocked with fresh fruit, orange juice, wine, beer, tea, yogurt, granola, and breakfast bars. Additionally, fresh pastries were delivered in the morning. It was very nice to have snacks and beverages provided while staying at the residence. The location of the home was in the "up and coming" part of West Asheville as we were told by many. Based on the homes I observed, this home was the nicest in the area. It was a very quiet area of town. We were able to walk to "The Walk" for lunch and stopped at a few shops on the way. Downtown Asheville was only a short Uber away. I would highly recommend the Inn on Westwood to anyone visiting Asheville. If we visit again, I will definitely not hesitate to stay here!

    McKinzee2015-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful historic grand house with a perfect design. The neighborhood is casual and hip also close to downtown Asheville but a little removed so it's relaxed and laid back. There are restaurants and bars within walking distance. Wonderful hosts' who met us and respond quickly to any questions. And they dropped off breakfast pastries in the mornings. I will definitely want to stay here next time we visit Asheville.

    Eugene2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation 7 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    Ruth2016-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at the Inn on Westwood. It is even more beautiful than pictured. Molly was so so great. She helped us find places to eat with kids and gave us tons of ideas to do with kids. All of the snacks and breakfast items and drinks were a wonderful plus and the delivery of pasteries in the morning was so sweet and delicious. It was hard to leave. I highly recommend staying here!

    Kim2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • The house and view are breathtaking. They pay attention to every detail, we'll definitely be back again.

    Kerry2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute gem - an historic home with mountain views on a quiet street, but a 5 minute walk from some of the best coffee/restaurants/bakeries in West Asheville. Don't hesitate about booking - you will love this B&B! Communication was instant and they were so flexible with our arrival time & helpful with other questions. We also appreciated the delicious yogurt, granola, pastries - and local beers! - which were provided during our stay. We will return.

Continental breakfast available. No dogs. Friendly, clean cats live here. Outside most of the day. DO NOT BOOK IF YOU ARE HIGHLY ALLERGIC or DON'T LIKE THEM. TV/DVD player in the room. Kitchen available to prepare LIGHT SNACKS. I will send you easy directions when you book - GPS/ (Hidden by Airbnb) can get you lost!
Private guest room and private bath on 2nd floor, comfortable queen bed. Garden views. Continental breakfast at no extra charge. Good conversation, many topics. I have a non-discrimination policy. Note: the cats are clean, well-fed and much loved. They are my companions.
Quiet neighbors and country atmosphere, yet convenient to town in either direction. Safe neighborhood. Can walk on dead end road, or front road if careful, can be traffic during rush hours. Close to secondary highway between Hendersonville and Asheville. Minutes to town of Hendersonville, restaurants, shops, Carl Sandburg home, and Asheville - Biltmore, entertainment, parks, historic sites. A train goes through in the late evening to the Kimberly Clark plant down the line, only on week nights. They must blow the whistle at the crossing but that only lasts about 2 seconds. The next whistle is faded -- far down the line.
  • Ella's place is a stunning turn of the century home that has been beautifully updated and remodeled! Our room was very spacious, super clean, and wonderfully appointed. We loved her kitties and her hospitality was second to none! Ella is a charming host with wonderful stories to tell. We wouldn't hesitate to return the next time we're in Hendersonville!

    Christopher2017-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ella's place was a wonderful get away with beautiful decor and amazing cats. She went above and beyond with her hospitality and she has amazing stories. Highly recommended :)

    Geremiah2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at Ella's place. She's an awesome lady, with a lot of great stories to tell. The house is really nice, and she keeps a beautiful lawn & garden.

    Chris2018-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Ella was the perfect host. She made me feel comfortable the moment I arrived. I had a comfy bed and a huge bathroom with a sweet kitty companion. Ella made a tasty breakfast and had fresh Sun Gold tomatoes from her garden. I would stay there again.

    Conita2016-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Ella made our first time using Airbnb a welcoming experience. Cordial hello and introductions came easy, followed by instructions regarding house amenities we could share and the hours she prepared breakfast as she showed us to our room. Suggestions given on restaurants close by and gladly answered our questions. We were thankful she allowed us to store our bikes in the locked shed. Ella has the gift of knowing when and when not to converse. Hopefully you will get to hear a couple of her interesting life stories. Her cats are very pleasant and never a bother. Clean house, nicely appointed bathroom(shared if another guest in other room), comfy bed,TV, wifi worked great and great breakfast. Nice central base for exploring all the region has to offer.

    Sandy2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ella and her kitties were wonderful hosts! Communication was easy, the house was clean (and very pretty), and Ella even made breakfast in the morning for us. She had a great DVD collection as well and welcomed us to use it. We stayed in the Master Bedroom area, and it was more than enough space. The bathroom is large and clean. The other bedroom was occupied as well, however they don't share a wall (just the bathroom)... so it still felt pretty private. Not too far south of Asheville (20 min), and very close to downtown Hendersonville. Ella allowed us to bring our 30 pound pup, and was very welcoming! We had a nice stay and would consider the red mill again if we are in the area :) Thanks, Ella!

    Savanah2016-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Kind quaint clean gracious. Would visit again.

  • Ella made us feel right at home. She is really nice and has some fantastic life stories to share. The yard and gardens are beautiful! Her breakfast was delicious! This place was worth it for sure. She has a number of sweet and loving kitties that greet you when you come in! It makes you feel right at home.

Close to nature and so close in to Downtown! Private entrance leads to suite with 1 bedroom (queen bed) with pocket door leading to spacious, well-appointed bath. Sitting room with small table & chairs, Keurig coffee/tea maker, small fridge, microwave, and toaster. Located in a lovely new home on Beaucatcher Mountain just 2 miles from downtown Asheville & the Biltmore. Convenient to Blue Ridge Parkway and the amenities this vibrant town has to offer, yet very private and surrounded by woods.
Our home is in one of the closet neighborhoods to Downtown Asheville and is a community of newer homes (1-3 years) nestled into the mountain side in the middle of a much older neighborhood that dates to the 1920s - Kenilworth. Our in-the-woods feel, yet proximity to both the Biltmore and the city, means our guests can enjoy a mountain resort setting but be five minutes from the major attractions of Asheville and the surrounding mountains.
Kenilworth Neighborhood Guide Historic Kenilworth is just South of Downtown. Close to Mission hospital, 20 minute walk to downtown, and moments from shopping on tunnel road. A 20 minute walk to downtown. In a central location convinient to all areas. A local favorite full of character and known for its 1920s Bungalow homes and spanish style stucco homes. • Peace and serenity. Extremely, clean area. Privacy beyond your wildest dreams. Hospitality with a capitol "H".

  • reat stay! Lovely, secure, and very clean! The privacy allowed us to totally relax. We had everything we needed and more. The owners were very helpful with information of places around town, including lots of brochures. The location was close enough so that we could easily drive to wherever we wanted to go. We’ll be back, and will recommend it to our friends.

    Dan2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was wonderful - the place was extremely clean and Nora and Steve were very nice and available to answer any questions and offer recommendations in the area. The location was very close to downtown, but it still felt secluded and remote which was very nice!

    Melanie2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Nora and Steve's place is an excellent base for your Asheville adventures. Their place is beautiful, private, and feels like your own secluded mountain top resort. Their hospitality is great and they pay a lot of attention to the details. I definitely recommend their space.

    Girish2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first stay at an Airbnb, it far exceeded our expectations. The setting is so peaceful, the house is so new and beautiful, and the private entrance was what I was looking for. It was so clean, new, a large space and so many extra little touches, we felt like we were at a resort spa!

    Susan2018-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Steve and Nora’s place couldn’t have been a better pick for our trip to Asheville. Every detail showed thoughtfulness and took away some of the stress of planning a short notice weekend away. The dogs were adorable and a non-issue. Didn’t notice them at all except when Steve and Nora greeted us on arrival. The room was excellently furnished and we appreciated the privacy afforded by the suite. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again on our next trip to the mountains.

    Matt2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • I had no idea that this stay would be so nice. I felt that I was in good hands, and could count on help if I needed it. Very friendly, considerate, and helpful hosts who I’m sure would be wonderful for Asheville advice. (I was busy with a conference so I wasn’t free to take advantage of this.). It was wonderful to relax after a long day with high end bedding, soaps, video options (which I didn’t need), lots of towels, magazines, and other things thoughtfully provided. Beautiful home and area. I did not attempt to walk to downtown which would have been a bit challenging, but Uber was easy to obtain.

    Christine2018-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Nora and Steve provide a beautiful, relaxing space with many thoughtful touches. Their accommodations are in a quiet, centrally-located neighborhood with quick access to multiple Asheville destinations. We would highly recommend!

'Doc Bennett's Retreat' is a warm wood clad room with a 6' clawfoot tub in private bathroom & a gas fp in winter months. The home is located almost central in WNC for easy commutes to Mount Mitchell, Asheville, Biltmore Estate, Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, Roan Mountain, shopping & so many eateries, hiking, lots of water for river rafting, kayaking or tubing, waterfalls etc!
This Historic Queen Anne Victorian has original lacework & wraparound porch has 4 footprints dating back to 1839 and has been lovingly and tastefully added onto by each of the former residents preserving it's Landmark status. The woodworking is remarkable and the wood is rare and beautiful ~ including clear chestnut, blistered poplar, black walnut, cherry, white oak and heartpine ~ gracing walls, floors, ceilings, 6 fireplaces, stairs & rails. And it's for sale! Inquire within...
It's beautiful here in WNC, no doubt about that ~ There's something about these mountains that nurtures the soul and spurs creativity. We try to never take for granted that we live in nearly the oldest mountains on the planet, a temperate rainforest & some of the most biodiverse regions on the planet are here. The house is conveniently situated in a nice agricultural neighborhood 33.3 blissful minutes from downtown Asheville ~ 45 minutes from Mount Mitchell ~ 20 minutes from Wolf Laurel Ski Resort ~ half an hour from the Appalachian Trail ~ 25 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway... all yielding some of the most beautiful hikes with no shortage of views or waterfalls... Many ways to satisfy your soul ~ If you're a photographer, like me ~ you will feel visually blissed constantly... And ~ on a clear night ~ you'll be able to see the Milky Way. "I believe that there is a subtle magnetism in Nature, which, if we unconsciously yield to it, will direct us aright." Thoreau.
  • We had a wonderful time in this beautiful, incredibly unusual house. Lovingly restored to its former glory, full of gorgeous old wood and touches of luxury - we've never been anywhere quite like it. The bed was very comfortable, the shower and bathroom highly satisfying. Judy herself was eager to make her guests welcome, full of local knowledge and a deep desire to ensure that our stay was perfect. This was a place to stay like no other.

    Rann2016-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • The house was clean and beautiful! Judy and David were wonderful hosts and very accommodating. We REALLY enjoyed hanging out and chatting with them about the area both the night we got there and the next morning over coffee. We wished we had more time... it all went by way too quickly... but we will definitely be staying there again on our next visit up.

    Kathy2013-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming, clean and professional

    April2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Judy was a great host. The house was roughly a 30min drive from Asheville, where we spent most of the weekend, and located right off of the main road. A private entrance and parking meant we didn't have to disturb Judy when we got back later in the evening. The gas fireplace and clawfoot tub were great features of this room and exactly as described. There were also complimentary snacks, teas, and fruit outside of our room -- great for a quick bite before heading out in the a.m.

    Ezra2015-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed at the Purple Orchid once before. Judy welcomed us like old friends. The entire stay we felt like we had stayed with friends rather than at an BnB. The bed was very comfortable and we were really able to relax and unwind here. Judy did so many little things to make us feel welcome and at home. Close to Asheville or Grandfather Mountain. The day we departed, Judy prepared a tasty breakfast for us . We definitely will be back when the opportunity occurs .

    Shelly2016-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing experience at Judy's B&B. First, Judy herself is a wonderful and gracious host and we soon felt like long-time friends. She had plenty of ideas on what to see and where to eat. She made us an outstanding breakfast and we enjoyed talking with her in the evening when we returned from our hiking/biking adventures. She is an accomplished photographer and we enjoyed looking at her beautiful pictures of the surrounding area, lovingly printed on handmade paper! Of course, if you want nothing but privacy she will respect that as well. The house itself is truly remarkable and worth a visit in itself. The woodwork...chestnut, blistered poplar, black (Website hidden by Airbnb) stunning and the arts-and-crafts mantels are amazing testaments to the craftsmanship of the era. Nature simply can no longer make most of the wood that is used extensively throughout this house. All-in-all, we couldn't have hoped for a better experience. We hope to return soon.

    Erin2014-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had an enjoyable stay with Judy, who was a terrific host and cook. Knowing we'd be pressed for time, we requested breakfast. It was delicious and thoughtfully prepared to fuel us for riding the Burnsville Metric. If you're heading to Burnsville I highly recommend staying with Judy.

  • Tom was so hospitable even before we arrived to stay at Green Retreat! Greasy communicator and accommodation. The weather wasn’t so great this weekend, but we still had so much fun in Asheville. The jacuzzi and comfortable bed were the highlights of the stay, but I couldn’t say anything bad even if I wanted. I would definitely recommend Tom’s place to anyone planning on visiting Asheville.

  • Tom is a fantastic host!

    David2018-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot express how much I loved staying at Tom's home. Firstly, the area is absolutely stunning and the small little touches that Tom has thought of to make his home welcome to everyone are just beautiful - From the bird feeder outside the dining room window, to the abundance of flowers and plants he has nurtured, to the relaxation of looking up at the stars at night in a private outdoor hot tub. Tom is generous, authentic and inspiring with his positivity and outlook on life. He has a ton of stories that you should definitely hear over a glass of Chardonnay with him. My boyfriend and I found ourselves not really wanting to go out and enjoy the Ashville nightlife (and we LOVE Ashville) - we just felt so very comfortable and welcomed in Tom's home. I know we'll be back.

Built in 1880, our home is a rambling, quirky Victorian nestled in the heart of downtown Old Fort. Minutes away from Black Mountain and Asheville, the inn is a perfect beginning and ending to your day's adventures in western NC!
This large queen room has its own full bath. The room features a dormer window and much charm as it showcases warm pine walls. Located beside the home's library, this room offers a great opportunity to curl up with a great book!
Our home is somewhat secluded, yet we are very close to downtown. While the small town of Old Fort has only a few restaurants and stores, we have a new downtown art gallery, Arrowhead Gallery and Studios. The house also sits directly across from the historic Old Fort Depot and is within walking distance of the Mountain Gateway Museum. For guests who are seeking outdoor adventure, visits to Andrews' Geyser, Catawba Falls, Curtis Creek, and Point Lookout are great points of interest.
  • I have used airbnb several times before. Out of all of my experiences this one was my favorite! The hosts were outstanding! For starters they totally transformed the eating area into a living room feel so me and a friend could enjoy the season open of college football. They went an extra mile to make it feel like home! The rooms are absolutely breathtaking and inviting. Breakfast was out of this world amazing. Chick and Becky were both very friendly and accommodating. They both were always checking to see how they could make my stay perfect. They supply everything you need including teas, coffee, and snacks! Very secluded and quiet! A must stay!

  • This was my second time staying with Chuck & Becky, and as usual, it was perfect! Beautiful and clean house in a relaxing area, with delicious homemade breakfasts, you couldn't ask for more. I highly recommend staying with Chuck and Becky!

  • Great B&B, tucked away in the quaint town of Old Fort. Great experience. Becky went so far as to include a few extra doughnuts at breakfast for us to take to our daughter (who was moving into college for the first time). Highly recommended!

  • Chuck and beckys place is absolutely beautiful. While it is a bit of a drive to downtown Asheville the route is not complicated and there are beautiful hiking trails and falls only minutes away. Their daughter Mary who was our host during our visit was so genuinely kind and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful Asheville adventure !

  • Our stay at Leslie's in Fairview was entirely delightful. Leslie and Tom are gracious and inviting. All our communications were excellent. These are A+ hosts and we hope to see them again. The room and bath are spacious, clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable. The private deck is a lovely, peaceful retreat. Leslies's thoughtfulness was greatly appreciated and amenities wonderful. We enjoyed morning coffee with her homemade treats and satisfied our hunger with numerous goodies in the mini fridge. The location is convenient to all the fun and beauty of Asheville. We highly recommend a stay with Leslie and Tom.

  • Bliss Farm is a beautiful hideaway hosted by both friendly and attentive Kelly and Frank. The room and house is very comfortable, clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. I enjoyed the windowed yoga room for stretching out in the mountains. The complete breakfast was perfect for starting my long day. I especially loved my morning walk/run down the country road. The only negative for me was its distance to a restaurant. It didn't turn out to be a problem, but as a suburbanite/city girl, 2 days was enough 'wilderness' for me.

    Karen2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • My second trip to the Bliss farm was so special and had precious experiences as usual. Especially the Yoga class in the dawn in the middle of beautiful forest was unforgettable moments and organic breakfast they provided. Dinner, Frank and Kelly served was so delicious and felt like we were at the five star hotel restaurant. Thank you so much everything you did for us. We will see you in the Spring again. Take care! Love you all! Micha and David

  • Say yes to this house! It's beautiful inside and Frank and Kelly are so helpful. Breakfast was delicious each day and we enjoyed feeding the goats and chickens. It's worth driving a few extra miles from downtown Asheville for this relaxing and pretty property.

  • I fell in love with Bliss Farm! What a sweet and gorgeous place! Frank and Kelly went out of the way to make sure my stay was incredible. The free breakfast was delicious—Frank is an amazing cook! And the location, grounds and home are absolutely beautiful (Kelly has an eye for design!!) I can’t wait to go back!

    Jaime2017-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Frank and Kelly have a wonderful, bucolic house. It was delightful. We are looking forward to staying with them again!

    Ben2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our short stay at Bliss Farm was exemplary to say the least. Frank and Kelly were incredible hosts and welcomed us into their home with open arms. The recently remodeled home has personal touches in every corner; from the concrete counter tops to the beautiful wooden bar (which Frank constructed). Everything offered in the home is supplied by the locals in Bernardsville. This includes all produce, toiletries and yoga sessions! We had the pleasure of being led through our practice by the ever welcoming Annalease (forgive me if I butchered your name) in their yoga room and later on were given a tour up to their newly constructed yoga deck that overlooks the mountains and down to the farm to visit the chickens and goats:) Let's not forget about the goodbye group hug. Thanks again Annalease! Kelly was a fantastic host and replied to all my inquiries and questions in a timely manner; and believe me, I had quite a few. She is also responsible for the great decor and amazing accommodations at the farm. Kelly offers many additional services; such as massages, yoga and a 4 course dinner available while making reservations. She was willing to work with our schedule and allowed us to check in on our own time. Thank you Kelly! Frank is a great chef and treated us to an organic 4 course dinner. He started us off with wine and a cheese platter, followed by a refreshing salad and just the right amount of dinner and dessert. In the morning he graced us with a lovely breakfast consisting of eggs, salad and toast. All ingredients were produced locally and organically. Frank also gave us great ideas for things to do while in Asheville as well as local routes to minimally visited waterfalls. The directions provided were clear and concise and were much appreciated. Thank you Frank. Although the farm is tucked away in the Pisgah National forest, it is only a 30 minute drive to Asheville and only a few minutes away from Bernardsville. We will definitely be back (hopefully for a longer stay) to visit the next time we are up this way. Thanks again to you all for an amazing experience.

    Norell2017-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Bliss Retreat. Their home was beautiful and Frank was super kind and helpful, especially with restaurant recommendations and cooking us breakfast each morning! (Breakfasts were amazing!) We battled rough traffic getting there and appreciate them accommodating our arrival time. We missed out on the farm to table experience as they prefer that to be within a set time, but I'm sure it would've been amazing! Frank took us down to feed the animals and somehow I even picked up a hen (slightly terrifying and oddly empowering). The room was clean, and although I prefer a little more privacy, the little touches made their home very relaxing. I'd love to experience in the summer when it's more enjoyable to be outdoors for sure!

  • Kerstin and John were very nice hosts that have an amazing spot in an amazing and charming historical home. We felt welcomed with just the right amount of hospitality and help offered. The room was spacious and artfully decorated with beautiful furnishings that matched the feel of the old home. Everything felt modern enough however to enjoy a comfortable stay. we almost wanted to stay another night even though we had other plans to keep heading south. The common area is also a nice place to enjoy coffee and muffins and I'm pretty sure we had the best view in Marshall. I would love to go back one day. I highly recommend the Marshall House Inn to anyone!

  • Kerstin and John were very welcoming when we arrived. Refreshments were available. After spending hours on the road, their home was a great place to relax. The home and room were exactly as pictured. To give a heads up, the roads were very dark at night. Just be aware of that so you won't be shocked or maybe activities can be scheduled to allow time to drive back before the sun goes down. Great place to stay!

    Carmen2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • beautiful and stylish place! would recommend over and over again. once you get there, you won't want to leave! marshall is such a sweet little town with so much charm.

    Breanne2017-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gem! Think historic charm meets industrial age meets modern day. There is interest in every corner. I was in for my daughter's wedding and only wish I had more time to explore the house and get to know the owner. You can tell John is a craftsman and a "doer". Kerstin is lovely and an amazing decorator. They put a lot thought into the space and conveniences for their guest. Also, Marshall is a charming town and has much more to offer than you might think if you just drive through. The artful charm of Asheville is overflowing into Marshall, yet you can slow down and enjoy your time, bypassing the crowd and the traffic.

  • This B&B is located in a very nice old neighbourhood in Asheville. Beautifully decorated, cozy and great attention to details. The room was large and the bed was super comfy! Nice breakfast as well. This was the B&Bs first time using Air B&B, so there was some confusion around booking but they were very communicative and we got it sorted out in the end. Unfortunately the fireplace in our room was also not working but they mentioned they were getting it fixed.

  • Very tasteful B&B all around! First day breakfast was vegetable frittata, cardamon and pine-nut scones and honeyed fruit with orange juice and coffee. Second day breakfast was polenta-style eggs and cheese baked grits, home baked granola, delicately spiced apples, berry coconut milk, and freshly baked gluten-free biscuits! We stayed in the Emily room and had a beautiful vintage bathtub. The B&B was secluded but walking distance to restaurants and shops. Lovely mountain breezes...

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Black Mountain Inn's Emili Room. We arrived close to check in & were greeted by the friendly, gracious proprietor: June, who showed us to our room "The Emili". It was lovely, old fashioned and what you would expect from a turn of the century home. Dark hardwood flooring & paneling; creaky wooden staircase to the second floor that reminds me fondly of my grandmothers house, yet the decor is light and airy & doesn't feel at all like the heavy-draperied home of a grandparent. There was a gorgeous 7ft RED claw-foot iron tub in the corner of our room, by the water closet! It was an unexpected, (unusual), *appreciated* element! We slept wonderfully, the weather was beautiful & we were even able to sleep with the windows open! (A treat for these Eastern-NC-ites who live w/ too much humidity!). The extra, personal touches were well thought of. Our first morning, we had to leave before breakfast was served. Knowing that, June prepared coffee, biscuits, yogurt, fresh fruit& granola early so that our "Spartan Racer" would not go out on an empty stomach! Very sweet! The next morning, we were able to experience the full treatment, beginning with coffee outside on the stone patio overlooking an expansive, private back yard. Our breakfast was a beautiful caprese' salad w/ tomatoes & herbs from their garden, a delicious curried squash soup w/ yogurt & herbs and a heartier, yummy, frittata-bake. She is a wonderful cook! The table was set beautifully w/ heirloom china, glassware & linens. Beautiful... but not fussy. We will be back! And we would highly recommend the Black Mountain Inn to family & friends.

  • Our room was so quiet and comfy ... after a healthy and delicious breakfast and a morning hike we indulged in a lovely afternoon nap with the sun shining in the windows and the birds outside. It was perfectly relaxing in a beautiful, historic home.

  • This is a beautiful inn in a quaint small town. The hosts are friendly and responsive; the restoration they are doing to this property is lovely and well designed. There are nice amenities, a great common/breakfast area, a big front porch and an easy walk into town. This small town has a nice restaurant (the Star Diner) and live local entertainment many nights. What a great place to stay in the Ashville area!!!

All of the detail and thought that went into creating such an amazing space just overwhelmed us! The beauty of the house goes so well with this sleepy mountain town. Kerstin and John were very welcoming showing us around the house and telling us what activities were happening in Marshall that evening. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the room was inviting. In the morning we had delicious muffins and scones with our coffee. John was quite helpful showing us the best way to get on the Blue Ridge Parkway and telling us about other sights to see. Thank you Kerstin and John for a wonderful place to stay!

  • We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Marshall Inn! Kerstin and John were great hosts and provided everything we needed and more! We especially enjoyed the front porch of the home with its beautiful view! The coffee and breakfast nook upstairs was also one of the highlights of the Inn! Wish we could have stayed longer! Highly recommend!

  • We loved everything about our stay and accommodations at Historic Riverview. Kerstin and John were wonderful hosts and the old restored inn was simply beautiful, comfortable and charming. The small town of Marshall was fun and interesting. The views from our bedroom and from the long front deck overlooking the town and French Broad River was picturesque and provided a fun view of the workings of this sleepy yet historic place.

    Chris2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Kerstin and John's place was lovely. Everything in the Inn was thoughtful and beautiful, from the furniture to the light fixtures. They had a great breakfast each morning in the common area. I spent each night down on the porch, which overlooked Marshall and the river. If I returned to the area, I would definitely stay again, even if my destination were Asheville. If they suggest you go to the Thursday night bluegrass jam at the local coffee shop, definitely do it!

  • Kerstin and John have done a beautiful job renovating this wonderful building and tastefully decorating it. It sits up on the hill overlooking Marshall, and is an easy walk to Main Street. Next time we'll set aside more time to explore dining and musical offerings. Perfectly situated for anyone on their way to Hot Springs! Extraordinary hospitality and welcoming warmth from our hosts made this a special visit. Highly recommend their inn.

  • Wake to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains! The view from your room is a stunning mountain view. Becky's home is beautiful and she is an attentive host. Out room was neat and clean with private bath. Becky and Ken gave recommendations for dinner and Becky provided a delicious breakfast! We hope to return.

  • We had an amazing stay at the Swenson home. The house and view are even more beautiful then the pictures on the website. Becky and Ken were extremely welcoming and provided a very homey atmosphere but were very kind to give us our privacy as well. Thank you for having us!

    Rachelle2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Becky was a wonderful host and the home was amazing! Best view I've ever had the chance to wake up to! Accommodating and friendly hosts.

    Drew2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Becky and Ken offer the best air bnb experience. They are super welcoming and make extra effort to make sure you're comfortable and enjoy your stay. They'll give you as much space and privacy as you want, but they're also very interested in socializing and getting to know you if you're up for chatting. They have an amazing house which they built themselves full of unique and rich character. And it has breathtaking, peaceful views of the forest and mountains. The best way I could sum of staying with Becky and Ken is that we came as strangers, were treated like family and left having made new friends. I hope to be back to stay with them again and couldn't recommend them more highly.

  • Ken and Becky welcomed us into their home, and made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. The view from our room was spectacular. Everything was clean and inviting, and if there was anything we needed, they were quick to offer it to us. It was a great experience, and we’ve already booked our next stay!

    Michael2018-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you want awesome views, private and clean location, great breakfast, fabulous hosts, a quiet drive to Asheville - this is a place to stay.

  • Becky and Kevin were kind, gracious and generous hosts. They were accommodating of our needs during our stay and we will gladly stay again. If that wasn't enough, their home is a craftsman's beauty to behold.

  • Dot was a wonderful host and has a wonderful home. The room and house is one of the nicest and well kept I've ever stayed in. It is set up like a quaint bed and breakfast. The location by the lake is very peaceful and tranquil. We were going to go out after check in on a Saturday night but were so happy just relaxing by the water and enjoy the night sky we stayed in. Room was comfortable and Dot had everything we needed in kitchen to make breakfast. She was serious when she said treat this like your home, don't be shy and find what you need in kitchen drawers etc. She has a Keurig coffee machine with multiple choices so that was very nice. Looking forward to staying there again.

    Steven2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Dot’s place was outstanding! We were looking to get away for a short weekend and saw the pictures of her place on here. The pictures don’t do it justice! This place was extraordinary with the most breathtaking views! You will not be disappointed staying there. Dot was a fantastic host as she waited patiently for our late arrival, offered a full breakfast bar line up, had snacks and plenty of other items to offer, and even had a couple treats in the room. She was informative of the area and overall very nice to us during our stay. This is a steal and you would be very lucky to stay at her place. Waking up to the lake view with the mountains in the background was amazing.

  • Wow, I barely have words to describe how incredible our stay was at Graham’s bed and breakfast. To begin, the house is beautiful. The room is stunning and beautifully decorated. Everything was spotless and the bathroom is amazing. Graham met us at the door with such hospitality and welcome. The views from the deck are incredible and the hot tub was so relaxing. Although the house is beautiful and incredibly comfortable, it was Graham’s hospitality that made our whole weekend. When we arrived, he sat down with us and told us about the place and asked us if we had any questions. When we were finished he offered us tea and cake- and let me tell you, the cake was amazing. Which brings us to our most favorite part of the weekend- the food. Graham is a chef by trade and his cooking is amazing. He had a whole menu for us to choose our breakfast from in the morning and cooked it fresh for us. I honestly don’t think we could have had better anywhere else. If you are trying to decide between staying at a hotel or Airbnb, I highly recommend you consider staying at Graham’s. My fiancé and I wished we would have stayed in Asheville for the whole weekend just so we could have had more time at Graham’s bed and breakfast. I would give him six stars if I could!

  • If you are wanting a place that is secluded from the world, but close to all the fun, this is the place. We had a great time here and plan to come back. This listing is about 13 minutes from the center of downtown Asheville. An easy drive for a good night in the city. Felicity and Graham are great. The food is delicious, and definitely spoiled my husband and I. If you have a pet, this is the place to go. They were super accommodating, and sweet to our pup that was a little anxious. My husband and I plan to stay here again if we return to Asheville. This is a steal and I promise you will enjoy staying here.

    Shelby2018-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • This home was beautiful and decorated very tastefully. The hosts were extremely helpful with local attractions and any other information requested. The breakfast and snacks were delicious and they went out of their way to see that every need was met. They also welcome dogs and have plenty of room for them to run and exercise. The location is perfect for Asheville visitors because it is far enough away to be out of the city, but close enough to be in downtown Asheville in 10-12 minutes. Do yourself a favor and book this place, we will again.

    Eddie2018-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Graham and Felicity were exceptional hosts. Despite our late check-in, Graham had a 5 star dessert waiting to greet us. Food was unrivaled in any bed and breakfast we've stayed at and they went the extra mile to make sure we were taken care of. We brought our dog along for the trip and she had a great time as well roaming their Green space and getting acquainted to the number of horses, donkeys, cats and dogs (which they introduced only if OK by the guests). Will be visiting again for sure.

Built in 1849 and continually updated, the Dry Ridge Inn Asheville Bed & Breakfast has eight beautiful guest rooms, each with gas fireplace, free WiFi and a private bathroom designed with your comfort in mind. A luxurious living room with complementary beverages, and the enticing gardens will tempt you to stay in for the day. Business travelers will appreciate the business center on the second floor. Everyone will appreciate Kristen’s sumptuous breakfasts. Pecan pancakes, filo-encased “egg flowers” – her selections are as delightful as they are delicious. Coffee, fresh fruit and juice appear each morning. Special diets are happily accommodated. Guests have the option of dining alone or with new friends they’ve made at the inn. You’ll pay more for this level of comfort and service at other inns in the Asheville and Weavervile. The Dry Ridge Inn Asheville Bed & Breakfast is as affordable as its keepers are informative – rates here are less than you’ll find elsewhere. For less, you’ll get more – easy access to Asheville and a quick return to a safe, small mountain town whose residents smile and say hello as they pass each other on the sidewalk. Indeed, you may find yourself falling in love with Weaverville as Howard and Kristen did when they moved here more than a decade ago.
The most beautiful and worthwhile short drive you can take just north of Asheville is either straight up Merrimon Avenue or the highway route 19/23, past Lake Louise and into this lovely little time capsule named Weaverville. Turn left at the only street light you will see, park on Main Street and start browsing. Enjoy a day of shopping for a while and having lunch. You will swear you saw Sheriff Taylor, Barney and Oppie leaving Curtis Wright Outfitters for a fishing trip down at Lake Louise. Weaverville isn’t exactly Mayberry but it is as close as you’re ever going to get in this part of the world. Though you’ll get the feeling that you have stepped back in time, the specialty shops and restaurants will remind you that this is the 21st century. Looking for locally made crafts? The Main Street shops will fill your shopping basket. Brown’s Floral, for instance, offers wild and fun flower arrangements you might not find anywhere else. Guys, this is where you can become a hero with that significant other! Across the street you will find Shopes Furniture. Here you will most likely find Scott Shope whose family has been serving the local populations and visitors for 50+ years. Down the sidewalk you will find Miya Gallery. Jennifer Jenkins has a full gallery of two-dimensional works, fine crafts, glass, wood pottery and silk items. Real artists run and stock this shop, local crafts by local artists. In the mood to take home some pottery either for yourself or as a wonderful gift? Then go see Rob and Beth at Mangum Pottery where they specialize in hand built and wheel-thrown pottery pieces ranging from dinnerware to furniture. If you have an idea for an item, just let them know and watch them bring it to life. Two doors down is the Aabani Salon where you can experience that special pampering you so deserve. Cross the street, the street crossing light button actually works, and head back up Main Street past Brown’s Floral and you will arrive at the oldest commercial building still in use in the Western North Carolina area. Here you will find Shop Around The Corner, a eclectic collection of special finds and antiques. Getting Hungry? Weaverville can take of you no problem. Up the street from where you are now is Blue Mountain Pizza. It is more that just Pizza, with soups, sandwiches, paninis, and live music every night. Cross the street and you will get a whiff of what’s going on at the Well Bred Bakery. The bakers are over their making yummy stuff and the barristers are brewing up coffees that can’t be beat. There is a couch to sit down and eat if you prefer – all the comforts of home but they are doing all the work. In the mood for a burger, buffalo wings, nachos or a club sandwich? You can find all that a more down the street at Main Street Grill. Just a few more steps and you will find Twisted Laurel Pub. Weaverville’s new gathering spot. It is located in the Old Firehouse. Their menu features healthy, high-quality, made-from-scratch pub fare featuring the region’s local bounty. They have a great selection of draught beer, wines, whiskeys and cocktails to enjoy while relaxing in their dining room & main bar, on their outdoor deck, or catching a game on their side bar’s big screen TV. Stop by for a local jam session, to see a live band on the weekend, or to enjoy Sunday Brunch. Ok, buy now you have got to be getting tired. Weaverville can handle that big time. Just two blocks for Twisted Laurel Pub is the Dry Ridge Inn Bed and Breakfast. Built in 1849 and continually updated, the Dry Ridge Inn has eight beautiful guest rooms, each with gas fireplace, free WiFi and a private bathroom designed with your comfort in mind. A luxurious living room with complementary beverages, and the enticing gardens will tempt you to stay in for the day. Business travelers will appreciate the business center on the second floor. • The hosts are so kind and gracious. They are very friendly and suggested great places to eat and fun things to do. We felt very welcomed and we relished the comfortable, quiet room. The bed was so comfortable. The attention to detail throughout the house is remarkable. Loved the mix of modern and old throughout the space. The house is beautiful and the front porch is perfect for unwinding and enjoying the view. It’s a great place to people watch. We enjoyed learning about the history of the house and exploring Marshall. It’s within walking distance of everything downtown. We also appreciated the security of the premises and the key-coded entrance. We will be back soon, we hope. Thank you so much for having us.

  • John greeted my family and I when we walked in, then gave us a tour of the house along with recommendations for food and entertainment in Marshall. The inn sits perched overlooking downtown Marshall and the French Broad River. Our suite had two bedrooms and a full bathroom. There was a nice assortment of breakfast choices in the morning such as yogurt, cereal, bagels, banana bread and freshly made quiche, as well as coffee, water and orange juice. Sitting out on the front porch on a Sunday morning looking down on the town and river while hearing church music echo through the valley was pretty amazing. We would definitely love to stay here again the next time we plan a visit to the area!

  • Secluded but close to town, Angelique's place is charming and private. She is warm and welcoming but gives you space. She has thought of every detail, and cooks an amazing breakfast. The community has a private beach. Just lovely!

    Kate2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely setting within walking distance of Lake Lure. Lovely room with many nice touches. Private and quiet and comfortable. Generous breakfast prepared especially for us at lovely table overlooking their backyard. Warm hospitality extended by hostess.

    Debra2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Angelique was just amazing! Her house is gorgeous, and her conversation was much appreciated. Her husband and doggie were also pretty awesome. The room we stayed in was perfect. The bed was the most comfortable bed I can ever recall sleeping in. The air conditioner worked like a charm. Angelique made us feel like we were at home, and we cannot wait to go stay with her again when we visit the beach!

    Kendall2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Angelique's guest room is on a wing of their house, which offers wonderful, story-filled antiques everywhere you look. The AC was cold (critical in a NC heat wave), bed comfortable, homemade breakfast very tasty, and private beach nearby great for a dip or swim. We had a lovely visit and highly recommend for any travelers to the area seeking a quieter, secluded, scenic place to stay.

    Franklin2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • This guest suite in Angelique 's home is very private and well equipped. The access to the lake is a short walk with a waterfall on the way. It's obvious the community pitches in for upkeep. A peaceful spot.

  • Can't go on enough about how great this place is! These are people who have been in the B&B business for a while and they absolutely know how to make you feel welcome. The room was beautiful and cool on a hot day. The bed, Amazing.! They have the sweetest most adorable Collie as well. Angelique is such a lovely joy, taking time out of her morning to make me the best breakfast! She and her husband were so accommodating and ready to be helpful if needed. I was so exhausted after hiking all day and this home was the perfect place to land for the night. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat! It's not within walking distance but it's only about 5 min away from Lake Lure, tucked in the mountains in a gated community. I can't imagine how anyone wouldn't be pleased.

  • Robert was a wonderful host and very easy to communicate with. The home was lovely and very comfortable. The bedding, linens and furniture were all top notch. The location was great for the west side and an easy walk into downtown. We would absolutely stay here again if we make it back to Asheville.

  • Great renovated house in a prime location with easy walking distance to shops and restaurants of West Asheville. The house was outfitted with everything to start our stay, coffee and creamer, fruit, snacks, wine and beer. I highly recommend this house. Thanks Robert!

  • Everything was great! Clean, perfect location and amazing extras from local beers, wine and daily pastries delivered.

    Ashley2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect Asheville getaway for us. Great location, amazing breakfast pastries delivered every morning, stocked fridge - really, one of the best airbnb experiences we've had.

  • We had a wonderful Asheville visit and staying at the Inn on Westwood was a big part of it. The accommodations are clean, welcoming, and spacious. We loved the decor and being in an historic home. The hosts were there whenever we needed them, including providing yummy pastries from a local bakery every morning, and we're very responsive before, during, and after our stay. We highly recommend the Inn on Westwood!

  • We had a great stay at Inn on Westwood. We spent 5 days and 4 nights here and loved it! The house has been completely renovated while still maintaining it's original character. Check in was super easy and the host is amazing. The kitchen was stocked with fruit, yogurt, orange juice, coffee, and snacks. Delicious pastries/donuts every delivered right to our front door every morning for breakfast. All the linens and towels are top quality and they provide all the bathroom amenities of a nice hotel. The house was very convenient drive to downtown Asheville and there were also several restaurants/breweries that were walking distance. All in all a great first trip to Asheville and The Inn on Westwood! We will definitely be back!

  • Rob and Caroline were wonderful hosts. They provided information on the history of the house, set us up with the necessary coffee fixings and other staples, checked in to make sure we had everything we needed, and offered helpful advice on antique stores in the area. The house is a gem. Truly a piece of history--beautifully renovated in a lovely, authentic and comfortable fashion with nice amenities and modern touches. The location is great and it's easy to get to pretty much anywhere is Asheville you might like to go within just a few minutes. The other nice thing is that the space is flexible --you can take half the house (2 bedrooms) for a small group, as we did, or both sides (4 bedrooms) for a larger group. I would definitely stay at the Bennett House again and recommend it to friends and family.

    Tory2015-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! This home was more lovely than we could ever imagine. Gorgeous space, wooden floors, heavenly beds with cloud-like comfort, downy pillows and softest sheets and comforters - a full dreamy experience. Beautiful kitchen with delicious fresh coffee, fruit, chocolates, honey! A salon for reading and hanging out in spacious comfort! Yeah! We feel so lucky. A gracious host. Thanks!

  • Susan's place is absolutely outstanding. Meticulous attention has been taken to create a luxurious environment reminiscent of what the most privileged people must have enjoyed in the 1920's. Spotless, stylish and unique. Each room has it's own decor motif and is sure to charm anyone. The house is located in a very quiet neighborhood near the end of a cul-de-sac, yet is still conveniently located close to downtown Hendersonville. Mitch and Susan are fabulous hosts that some how miraculously appear whenever you may like to see them, but are otherwise invisible. They are the salt of the earth and a pleasure to be around. We enjoyed our stay; comfortable and clean are understatements, this place raises the bar. Five stars across the board, without exception.

    Curt2018-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful. I was greeted with a cupcake and a wonderful room. Unfortunately, I didn't get too much time to chat since I was busy that weekend, but all the interactions were great. Everyone was extremely accommodating.

    Nirmal2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • we didn't have breakfast but the snack area had everything that you could ask for to include fresh cupcakes for each room

    Mark2017-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Mitch are gracious hosts and have provided a very special and comfortable suite. Do ask to see if you can be included in their sumptuous breakfast which is well worth the additional charge

    Nancy2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place! Close to town of Hendersonville which is a very pleasant place to visit. Also central to asheville, Brevard, and Mills River where so much to do for the outdoors"men", artsy, and craft brewery conisseurs alike. Yet, the B&B could also easily be he only place you want to be!

    Holly2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • I rarely comment about the bedding, because most Airbnb bedding is from a box. Susan’s mattress and bedding are heavenly. We opened 2 windows and loved the mountain air. Mitch and Susan greeted us warmly and our only regret was not relishing their porch and outdoors more. Will definitely stay again.

    Bert2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Susan’s place was great! The room was just as pictured. The bed was very comfy. Towels were great quality. Relaxing in the rocking chairs on the wide front porch with a specialty cupcake and coffee was a perfect way to end a Hendersonville evening.

    Renee2018-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Wow - what a beautiful place to stay, and such gracious hosts! The Railroad Room was gorgeous and we'd recommend it without hesitation to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in the area. Airbnb needs to add more stars.

  • What a perfect name for this marvelous place. This is a review of the Bliss Farms Farmhouse. We also stayed at the Cabins, but that is a separate review. The Farmhouse is a large, well designed, modern facility that seems to be all about comfort. There’s a dedicated room for yoga classes, plenty of lounging space in the great room, a full sized dining table, an eat in area off the kitchen and even bar seating at the kitchen counter. Though the common areas could easily accommodate a couple dozen people, there were never more than three other guests present during our stay. All of the guest rooms are on one wing of the house and come in different configurations. We stayed in the Buddha suite so we had our own well equipped bathroom en suite. Our room had a nice view to the green space in the back of the property and was very comfortable. Bliss Farms is a true BNB, so we have to talk about the food. We only had two meals at Bliss and enjoyed them thoroughly. Dinner was served outside on the large porch amongst the birds, trees and the lightening bugs (aka fireflies) who came out and gave us a show once the sun was down. It was spectacular! We enjoyed a gourmet, three course meal (+ cheese plate) with house made salad dressing atop of greens straight from the garden, made to order lamb and a dessert that I’m having a hard time remembering, but certainly enjoyed. My girlfriend and I learned about sulfite free wines and she really enjoyed the Malbec they picked for her. For breakfast the next morning, we had a sausage frittata with eggs from their chickens and some fantastic sourdough that I had a second helping of ;). We really appreciated and enjoyed the fact that they use organic products from their farm and elsewhere to prepare the most wholesome and tasty culinary experience for their guests. We enjoyed the food so much!! After breakfast, Frank took us down the hill to feed the chickens and goats. That was a lot of fun and a great learning experience. As we prepared to depart on the last day, Frank gave us directions to a nearby waterfall that only required a short hike. It turned out to be a highlight of the entire trip. This was such a pleasurable experience all around . . . blissful I might say. Being situated in the mountains amongst so much lush, natural beauty really had an impact on me and I still feel it. Thank you so much Frank and Kelly for sharing your great place! Can’t wait to come back!

  • This B&B was perfect for the outdoors weekend I needed! Kelly & Frank are fantastic chefs and we're super helpful with anything we asked about. They were able to point us to some great trails. I'd definitely stay here again.

    Megan2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem! Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to meet Kelly but Frank was incredibly hospitable and a fountain of knowledge. The property and location is amazing! Bliss Farms Retreat is just that while being a short drive into beautiful Asheville. From the farm fresh breakfast to the yoga studio to the chickens and goats, Frank and Kelly do it right! I highly recommend being their guests and experiencing everything they have to offer. My girlfriend and I will most certainly go back next time we're in the area. I can't wait to see the cabins Frank is currently building!

    Robert2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about Kelly and Frank's place impressed us. It was the perfect place to go for a retreat into the mountains. The breakfasts were healthy and amazing, Frank's tour of the farm was all-inclusive and fun and their home is beautifully decorated. There were many areas around the farm to sit and relax with your cup of tea and book. They had many great recommendations for hikes and can't miss places in Asheville. We would give this more than 5 stars if we could. We can't wait to be back!

    Lisa2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • First airbnb experience definitely did not disappoint! We felt so welcomed and like we were at home. Frank is an amazing cook and the meals were so so good. We will definitely be back when it's warmer! If you are in the area, or even planning to stay closer to Asheville, I definitely recommend this place. Perfect, relaxing location. Cannot wait to come back in the future!

    Ashley2018-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Pleasant stay in Kelly's place. : )

    Yuan2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you are going to Asheville, stay at bliss farm! The location is great, the room was cozy and decorated nicely, and breakfast was our favorite!!! The hardy breakfast saved us money on eating out! And Frank had outstanding hospitality. Every day our bed was made again with new bottles of water! We also had yoga and massages in house. The best Airbnb experience ever!! We will definitely stay again!

Built in 1880, our home is a rambling, quirky Victorian nestled in the heart of downtown Old Fort. Minutes away from Black Mountain and Asheville, the inn is a perfect beginning and ending to your day's adventures in western NC!
Our Roan Mtn room is bathed in colors of soothing green. The room hosts a full size bed, a seating area for two and windows that highlight large rhododendron. While the room doesn't have an adjoining bath, guests who stay here have access to a large full bath just down the hall that includes a large clawfoot tub and a large cathedral window. Bathrobes are provided.
Our home is somewhat secluded, yet we are very close to downtown. While the small town of Old Fort has only a few fast food restaurants and stores, we have a new downtown art gallery, Arrowhead Gallery and Studios. The house also sits directly across from the historic Old Fort Depot and is within walking distance of the Mountain Gateway Museum. For guests who are seeking outdoor adventure, visits to Andrews' Geyser, Catawba Falls, Curtis Creek, and Point Lookout are great points of interest for cyclists and hikers.
  • Lovely Victorian home 20 mins outside Asheville. Chuck and Becky are superb hosts, who were very accommodating. Their home was full of character and really tell the adventures they have been on. The breakfast spread every morning was beyond delicious. Would highly recommend if you are looking to stay in the Asheville and Pisgah Park area.

  • We were so kindly welcomed at Chuck and Becky's. Both host and hostess went out of their way to make us feel comfortable in their mountain home. They focused on details--sharing maps for local attractions, fresh coffee, daily updates on weather conditions and hiking suggestions. Each homemade breakfast was delicious and generous. Our private room and bathroom were quaint, clean, and just what we had hoped for during our weekend away. Getting to their home was easy. It isn't far off the interstate, and although their driveway is unpaved, we could easily navigate it with our Prius.

    Allison2015-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Chuck and Becky are great hosts! Their house is beautiful and has a lot of character, great location for hiking around the area. Becky always went out or her way to make sure we had everything we needed, she even let us use her sunblock and made a delicious breakfast every morning. Would definitely stay with them again!
