“The Crown is a traditional pub with a twist. It offers great traditional pub grub plus a selection of lovely French bistro dishes, authentically put together by the French proprietor Vanessa. It it extremely unfussy and reasonably priced while having a lovely warm welcoming atmosphere. ”

“To the left at the bottom of the garden and about 10 mins walk over the roundabout and under the railway bridge lies The Crown at Bathford. It’s a really cool pub serving really good brasserie-style food (it is French owned) in a very relaxed environment with awesome staff. There is an enclosed garden to the rear too. Also recommended”

“About a 20 minute walk towards Box on the A4, is The Barn Café, formerly known as The Shed, which is a fully-licenced restaurant. It’s only open in the daytime but the food is good (they also do cooked breakfasts) and there is a farm shop attached to it selling the usual fare, along with a great selection of local ciders!”

Route
“Number 3 bus takes you direct into the centre of Bath every 12 minutes. Also x 72 but this runs more infrequently. Trip takes about 15 minutes. Return buses run at roughly the same frequency. A day ticket cost £4.20 and you can use it as often as you like to get around the city. The nearest stop is next to the Crown Pub at the bottom of Bathford Hill.”
