  • I came to stay while doing some essential work during the period of Covid 19 and my experience was A+ during a stressful time. I came with a co-worker and Jonathan and Christine easily accommodated the fact that we needed two beds and provided their inflatable mattress. I highly recommend.

  • Jon and Christine’s studio is the perfect cozy spot for some R&R. I had a great time meeting up with friends and family in the area and exploring, and using the studio as a central location. There are a couple of freight trains that come through at night and the sound of the whistle was quite romantic. A lovely stay, highly recommended!

    Katrina2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jon and Christine’s place was outstanding! The place was extremely clean and well decorated. Communication with the hosts was great and they were always available if we needed something. They had great tips on what to do and where to go. Would highly recommend if someone wants a quick trip to northern Mass!

  • Ashley‘s place is a lovely, and charming place to stay. I would highly recommend it! I can’t wait to come back in the future and eat at Ashley‘s restaurant, Five Eyed Fox. Which is in the same building. I was only there for one night so there to study and, unable to actually leave the building. It was lovely neighborhood to drive into. Looking forward to seeing that neighborhood and Ashley again!

    Patricia2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and central place to stay while in Turner's Falls. And it sits above Ashley's wonderful Five Eyed Fox restaurant which is a fantastic place for brunch/dinner. Enjoy!

    Jim2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The room is in a cool second floor apartment in the center of Turner's Falls. You have to access it through the kitchen, but it is big and nicely decorated and has a table, futon, bed... basically a lot of options. Kitchen is spacious with restaurant grade implements. Didn't encounter host on my brief stay but communication was good.

There's an excellent bakery at the end of the street, and it is a short walk to the Shea Theater, bus stops, the Ct. River, bike trail, shopping, world-class concrete skate park, great restaurants and night life, grocery store, bank. Half an hour to the cultural centers of Northampton, Amherst, and Brattleboro, as well as scenic areas along the Mohawk Trail. Ten minutes from Greenfield. If you love a funky, creative and eclectic bohemian environment, you will love it here!
This is an old house and full of art objects and colorful, funky style. It can be a bit drafty in winter. It has high ceilings and plaster walls, so will tend to be dustier than a modern house. Nevertheless, people find it very comfortable, and interesting, to visit here! As far as stays longer than one week, I prefer to meet you first before committing to such an arrangement, unless there are exceptional circumstances which we will work out together in advance. Please contact me with your request.
The Central Street neighborhood is very diverse. It is one block up on the Hill above the downtown. There are triple decker apartment buildings, single family homes of varying vintage from the 1870s to the 1930s, and a headstart preschool in an old school building. In this neighborhood are published authors and poets, experimental musicians, single mothers and children, business people, people with disabilities in group housing, artists, bikers, and all types of people. Generally this is a quiet street and people are friendly. It is very convenient to all of the town, parks, river, bike path and the great new skate park with concrete bowl!
  • Warm and cozy and clean :)

  • To rest it's phenomenal. If you want to interact they're there; if not they don't pry/they aren't intrusive. Also, the shower is as hot or cold as you need it.

A two level loft apartment walking distance to Shelburne Falls. Private, simple, unique, cute, and efficient. The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet with the notable exception of a nearby train intersection. 4-6 times in a given 24 hour period there'll be a loud train whistle. Please see Covid-19 update in "Other things to note..."
This space is most comfortable for one or two people. There is a spare bed which I will set up upon request so that a third person may be added. The Apartment has an open ceiling in the kitchen area and a winding stair leading to the living and sleeping area. The upstairs has three different levels: one exiting to the back deck, one a reading area, and the third level is the television area. (In the event that the memory foam mattress needs to be set up it will be in the TV area of the apartment.) The Queen size bed is on the floor but from the 1st level height it will feel like a normal height bed. Ceilings are low on the 2nd floor...watch your head... Kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, dishes, etc.... There are some basic food items like olive oil, butter, eggs, 1/2 and 1/2, tea, coffee, cereal/oatmeal, and so on. On the back deck you'll find a small grille and in the tree line I have steel fire ring for an evening fire (wood provided).
Shelburne Falls is a quaint town. There are several restaurants in town and easy access to museums, hiking, mountain biking, etc... There is a laundromat about a 5 minute drive from here and a natural food store the same distance (4 minute drive).
  • Justin was a great host. This was a really cool place to stay. Great location-I just wish the restaurants had been open for me to walk to.

    Alex2020-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Justin's place for 2 weeks, and found that it had just about everything I needed to be comfortable. Justin was a very attentive and helpful host. Clean, close to center of town, heater worked very well, very well stocked kitchen. Would highly recommend.

    Brittany2020-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • The place was beautiful, clean, and very well stocked. The host is kind and incredibly tentative. It's amazing for the price!

    Troy2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Justin was very thoughtful with his communication! He messaged to reassure us that everything would be extra clean amid the Corona virus outbreak. We enjoyed the tips he suggested and I even bought some of the glasses he keeps in the loft from local artists! Thank you for a wonderful stay! Rebecca

    Rebecca2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, lovely space for 1-2 people, very clean! Very comfortable! Extra touches of organic food on the shelves and in the refrigerator. Great location - 10 min. walk to downtown.

    Beryl2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Justin’s place. We just stayed for the night, but would’ve loved to stay longer. The place is super cozy and cute, close to all the whole spots in town. Justin also provides quite a few food staples which is very generous we made a nice breakfast, and he gave some great advice. good hikes in the area!

    Kim2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I planned a two week snowboarding trip. This was our second stop, and we stayed one night. As home renovators, we loved the design and thoughtful features throughout this little apartment. Nice glassware, an assortment of teas, and coffee are available. The host was quick to respond to my messages. The only negative I would say is the incredibly tiny bathroom sink that was virtually unusable. We used the kitchen sink to brush our teeth and perform our facial hygiene. Also, there is not a washer and dryer present within the apartment (just an FYI).

    Cat2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific overnight stay at Justin's place. Snug, clean, and simple. A perfect spot from which to launch our ski day.

  • This was our second stay with Mary & Lance and it was just as great as the first time. We stay to go riding at mount snow (only 45 mins away) but conditions were too warm so we ending up coming back early going for a nice walk at Fort Dummer park right up the block. It was perfect! Had good food and beer at the brewery in town but their home is the perfect location to explore other towns near by. The apartment is so clean and the fireplace makes it so cozy. The snacks and coffee are also super appreciated!100% recommend a stay here!!! :)

  • James is an incredible host. We stayed here last year to check out the local winter festival. Incredible place, so clean, awesome location. We had planned to come back this year but the kids and my wife all got the flu. He was so understanding. Such a nice person! We plan to come back every year, and we are so sad to have missed this one.

My place is close to Northfield Mount Hermon School, The Gill Tavern, The Farm Table & Kringle Candle, Crumpin Fox Golf Course. You’ll love my place because of the ambiance, privacy, the setting & the view.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. In accordance with the CDC's recommendations we have altered our cleaning routine to take extra care to disinfect our space due to COVID-19.
A brand new 900 square foot space, with pull down queen Murphy bed. The mattress is brand new and very comfortable. The apartment has a living area, galley kitchen, and bathroom with shower, vanity unit and toilet. Off the apartment is a 200 square foot deck, raised with a beautiful view of the trees and the Leyden hills beyond. The deck is private.
Gill is a wonderful rural community.
  • This was our third time staying here. We love the location, it’s very comfortable and has everything we need.

  • The pictures make no justice to the space; bright, ample and comfortable. Husband and I spent two nights over and we mostly stayed indoors enjoying hot cocoa, the views and reading. The space feels as if you're out in a isolated cabin in a little mountain on the woods with modern accommodations. Jackie and Duncan made sure we were comfortable and even went an extra mile to help us go up the hill to their house since we came in during an ice storm and, well, our car has 0 traction. A great escape to relax and enjoy hikes around! P.S.: Place is really quiet- I read reviews saying stuff about the dogs. We only heard a dog once and it was opening the door to go outside- You forget there's a kennel out there.

    Gina2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is stylish and functional. There is plenty of room for two people. The kitchen is handy. The shower is wonderful. The TV offers local and premium channels. The bed is a queen size and is comfortable. We boarded our dogs at the accompanying kennel, which was convenient and allowed us to visit and walk them daily — including Thanksgiving. Gill is remote but we were able to get to wherever we wanted in the Pioneer Valley in 10-30 minutes. Our interactions with the owners were excellent.

    Stephen2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie's place was wonderful! With large windows and beautiful fall foliage right outside, we felt like we were staying in a luxurious treehouse! The place was huge, the kitchen superbly stocked, and the bathroom filled with tons of amenities (including a great foldup travel toothbrush). Thanks Jackie for a great stay!

    David2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is a gem. The hosts are wonderful and the space is so lovely. I wish that I could have stayed there for weeks rather than just a few days. My only complaints are that the bed was super soft (not the worst thing in the world, but I woke up with a bit of a sore back), and I wish there had been towels that weren't white. It was "shark week" and I was so paranoid about staining their pristine white towels. Other than that, the space was amazing. We were able to cook in both nights, the kitchen and bathroom are fully stocked, all we needed to pick up was food and drink. There were even cute bathrobes and slippers for us in the bathroom!!!

  • Place is wonderful! Spacious, warm and very comfortable. Crystal provides great local tips and her place is very convenient to Turners Falls and downtown Greenfield.

  • Very stylish, clean and located just out of town! It was close to Greenfield, and Montague which allowed us to walk around town and spend sometime at the Bookmill and the Poet’s seat Trail!

    Eden2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Crystal’s private guest suite is absolutely amazing! It was the perfect space to relax in (we loved the style and took notes for our own home) and Montague is such a quaint town to explore. We especially loved the Book Mill. Crystal was an excellent host and the coffee in the suite was super appreciated!

Quiet first floor bedroom with half bath. Dorm size refrigerator, microwave, television (Netflix), WiFi. clean updated kitchen. Lots of privacy, can access kitchen and shower upstairs. Access to the sawmill River. Close to UMass Amherst and Montague Book Mill.
Great location has own half bath, fireplace and private entrance. The downstairs is handicap accessable but no shower. There is a microwave and small refrigerator in this room. There is plenty of room for a crib or air mattress.
The house is situated on the Saw Mill river. It is surrounded by woods. We are ten minutes from Umass Amherst and ten minutes from Greenfield. The Montigue BookMill is a great place to have coffee. The Robert Frost trail is up behind the property as well as two major State parks. We are on the National Historic Byway.
  • Being our very first experience with Airbnb we weren't sure what to expect from any rental we choose. Elaine's accommodations and laid back hospitality exceeded our expectations and made the whole experience positive. The room and half bath were sparkling clean and private, the bed very comfy, the location and setting peaceful and a perfect location for our purposes. The Montague area is one of the best locales Western MA has to offer - out in the country yet convenient to all surrpunding hotspots. Would highly recommend and certainly return. Be sure to visit the Montague Book Mill (which is right around the corner) !

    Karen2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Elaine was great! She communicated everything clearly and was there if we had any questions. The place was in a nice, quiet location near the Montague Book Mill and the space itself was very private. Would highly recommend!

    Timothy2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Elaine is a very sweet host. The place was clean and beautiful. It’s better to get there earlier in the day as it’s a bit tucked away and hard to see in the dark. But the house and room are great and Elaine was very welcoming.

    Aishwarya2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Elaine’s place was great. We spent just one night there with our six month old daughter, but Elaine was friendly, welcoming and attentive. She fosters community between the guests and we shared a nice breakfast with a family from Germany. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. Be sure to check out the Book Mill nearby.

  • Was in the area to visit a school this weekend with my son. Elaine’s place was an excellent choice. Perfect location. Big (a lot more than just “a room in a house”). We stayed in a basement room - almost a bachelor suite! Super clean. Comfy beds. Beautiful property. We would have loved to stay longer and enjoy the large rural property. And I’d definitely stay there again when we’re back in the area. I highly recommend it. Really - book it quick - before its unavailable. Thank you Elaine! Merci... Jon

    Jon2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very lovely home in a great location. The room is as described, clean and comfortable. It is in a shared home but still feels very private. However, there were no instructions or information regarding the kitchen so even though it's listed as a shared kitchen I did not feel comfortable to use anything. Would recommend and would return!

    Ally2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • I had an excellent stay at Elaine’s place! I didn’t expect it to be as private and comfortable as it was. And her quick responses to my questions was very much appreciated. The house was in a perfect location for a wedding I was attending at the Montague Retreat Center, which was only 1.4 miles away. Would love to stay again!

"The womb" is a quiet retreat with radiant-heat floor, memory-foam-covered futon & private bathroom. When available, add a 2-hr mind-body-spirit healing session to your stay. Outside your door, hike trails to the Retreat tower & ski jump; across the road, swim, kayak/canoe or ice skate on the West River. Walk to downtown Brattleboro, a very hip place to visit ;) or drive to Mt Snow to ski (~40 min) or MASS MoCa to experience interactive art (~1hr). Enjoy your solo or duo adventure!
"The womb" is equipped with self-help tools and space to create, express and rest. Your private bathroom includes a tile shower and floor-situated heater, and a designated electrical outlet for your hair dryer (please ask!). Your kitchenette includes a mini-fridge & microwave. You're welcome to use (our) full-kitchen upstairs! There's a notebook available in your room, full of helpful information about what's in the room, the house, and the community. If you can't find answers to your questions there, don't hesitate to ask Ami via face-to-face contact, phone, or text :). Please note: the bed is against a wall and full-sized; it may be small and cumbersome to get in and out of for some couples, especially for the person on the wall/window-side who will most likely climb over the other for a midnight bathroom run!
Our immediate neighbors have small children and they are active around the house :). The neighborhood is respectful, and generally friendly and active :). Our driveway is a right-of-way into the Retreat woods, where people walk, run, bicycle, cross-country ski, and walk dogs.
  • My daughter and I enjoyed a ski weekend at Mount Snow, staying in Ami’s room 2. 22 -23.2020. It worked out perfectly. Ami is a warm and charming host. I highly recommend Ami’s pad.

  • Ami is a very welcoming and generous host! We enjoyed our time in her beautiful, peaceful space and appreciated her kindness, thoughtful touches and local recommendations.

  • "The womb" is a lovely room with a private entrance. Appropriately named, the womb feels safe and calm with lighting that can be adjusted, a salt lamp, and rose quartz crystals to foster love and acceptance. The bed was comfortable for one but would be cozy for two. The private bath was well stocked and clean. Ami is an exceptional host. She greeted me upon arrival and checked in often to make sure everything was perfect. I would love to come back and stay in this place when I next travel to Brattleboro.

The Swanery is a charming house on the CT river. It's walking distance to Turners Falls, ten minutes from Greenfield, 20 minutes from Brattleboro VT, and 30 minutes from Northampton. You get the upstairs to yourself! 2 bedrooms, living room w/TV, bathroom. Front bedroom has a lovely view of the river and the Turners Falls bridge. Living here are 2 very friendly cats and 1 extremely friendly dog who LOVES other dogs. The yard is entirely fenced in so dogs can run free.
A cross between a California Bungalow and a New England farm house, the house is beautiful and rustic. Guests have the upstairs to themselves (only the sitting room, which is attached to the guests' private bathroom, has some of the host's belongings.) The upstairs bathroom is small & difficult to photograph, but it contains a toilet, sink and shower and it is entirely private. Guests may share the large kitchen, music room and living room (with lots of sun and a picture window looking out over the river) and the large front porch. Laundry is available although guests must notify the host before using the dryer, as it is in a private space. The kitchen is large and beautiful. There's a music room with a piano and various other instruments. It looks out over the river (and the driveway.) An attached living room has couches and a large picture window looking out over the river, and... at 5pm it's the doggie parade! Everyone in the neighborhood walks their dogs past the house and it is fun to watch them. Constructive feedback (there is a suggestion book and a guest book) is always appreciated. The Swanery is always, and always will be, a work in progress. If you return you will likely see some of your own suggestions implemented! Small improvements are always in the works.
The Swanery is in a quiet little neighborhood of Gill, MA called Riverside. Down the road and around the bend is Barton Cove, a state park where you can rent boats and admire all sorts of waterfowl, and sometimes a beaver. Up the road the other way is the beautiful Turners Falls bridge, which crosses over the dam. The falls (and the house!) are viewable from the bridge. It's an easy walk or a two-minute drive to the burgeoning arts community of Turners Falls.
  • A very warm and comfortable home to stay in and a great base to travel from. Very centrally locates to many sites.

    Katherine2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jenna and Inara were wonderful hosts. The Swanery is one of a kind. We loved the coffee in the morning, the great views from the windows and the great VHS collection.

    Laurie2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jenna's place was exactly as advertised. Very clean and comfortable. Great location and I felt relaxed staying.

    Mark2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for our needs. We were on our way through and needed a quick place to stay for the night. Jenna was friendly and helpful. Cute, funky place. Very comfortable. Great old wood floors. Nice view of the water, and heard the swans and ducks from our room. No smelly dryer sheets on the linens (which I greatly appreciate!) Friendly cats who would have probably been happy to sleep with us if we let them. Great place for a family. I would definitely stay there again.

    Victoria2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Jenna was very helpful. Thanks to her understanding it made it possible for us to bring our dog on a trip. This house is so rad. It's across the street from the river. A great view. In the winter the house was warm. It would be amazing to chill here again.

    Hector2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jenna’s place is very unique, charming, and very welcoming. We arrived in late and had to leave early in the morning so we haven’t been able to enjoy the amenities as much as I wanted to because her space is awesome. The house was all lit up for us and bedrooms were warm, which was much appreciated in this Winter night. Charlie the cat is super friendly, rooms are very cosy, and bathroom super clean, with extra toothpaste and everything you need. Thank you, Jenna, for making it nice and easy for us to stay at your place!

    Juan2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jenna’s home exceeded expectation. My dog & I stayed for 3 nights, and will be back next time we’re in town. Great location: quiet & private, while close to anything one may need. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and the view of the river is quite lovely. Jenna’s hospitality is outstanding, thank you!

    Karen2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place was so much more than I was expecting. The bedrooms upstairs were far more than adequate for my daughter and I. Also included but I don’t think mentioned was a fairly private living room upstairs. The decor was cool and the view not too shabby. Jenna, our host was fantastic, responsive and a pleasure to be around. Although not a cat person, the two cats totally won me over and her dog is an absolute joy as well.

Renovated schoolhouse full of charm with a farmhouse feel. Located across the street from the picturesque fairgrounds. Misty morning view includes classic red Vermont barns. Big yard with apple trees and lots of room to play or just relax.
Cozy interior includes a big central living space with wood stove and plenty of seating, galley kitchen, black and white tiled bathroom, small cozy master bedroom, mudroom with room for skis and gear, and a loft sleeping area accessed by a ladder. Outside you'll find a big half acre yard with room to play and relax. Note that the yard is not fenced should you come with little kids or dogs.
Guilford is a sweet town of about 2,000 people located in southern Vermont just a few minutes south of Brattleboro. Like most small New England towns, Guilford boasts a country store, a library, and an elementary school. Brattleboro is the hub for entertainment, restaurants, live music, theatre, etc.
  • This was our second visit to Kelsey’s beautiful home - and we fell in love with it all over again. Her home is inviting and cozy, and Kelsey made sure the place was toasty for our arrival by having the wood stove going for us. The decor and art throughout is beautifully unique and well done. Our two young boys refer to this home as “Zeb’s house” and love playing with the toys during our stay - they never miss TV while we are here! We can’t wait to visit again soon! Thank you for your hospitality, Kelsey & Zeb!

    Laura2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is really cool, very unique dwelling with fun decor. The schoolhouse aspect (toys, chalkboard, art table) was really fun for my daughter, and the galley kitchen made meal making a nice experience. We loved that there wasn't a TV, as we'd rather be focused on each other. The art in the house is beautiful and the host shares info about the artists which was a nice, unexpected touch. The house is a bit loud (squeaky floors) so we had some incidental awakenings when others got up, but all in all was an excellent experience.

    Nikayla2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is the coziest little getaway! It was the perfect place to unplug and relax (but stay plugged in a little because the WiFi was excellent).

  • Such a wonderful gem which made for the perfect place to have a lovely Green Mountain getway! Thank you Kelsey for all your personal touches!

    David2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • The house was adorable and very cozy! My nephews were in heaven with all the toys, the chalkboards, the rocking horse and the super fun loft. We spent Thanksgiving there and the kitchen had everything we needed to make a full spread. The bed was very comfortable. Had a great time!

    Kristin2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful house in a beautiful area with plenty of peace and quiet.

    Joey2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kelsey’s place was so cute! Large living area, gorgeous views of the mountains, huge yard space (which would be even better if there was a fence, as it’s right off a main road), VERY VERY clean, and all around comfortable. This made our stay quite enjoyable! Only 10-15 minutes away from Brattleboro, where there’s a bunch of cute shops. Thanks, Kelsey! :)

    Paula2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Kelsey’s place was perfect for a weekend getaway in Southern Vermont! Super easy check in, Kelsey answered right away when we had a question, and she even had a fire going for us when we came in- talk about hospitality! Her place is about 15 mins from Brattleboro, which was great because we spent most of our Saturday exploring the downtown area. The entire house was spotless with plenty of space. The loft upstairs is definitely difficult to get to if you have any mobility issues, as it is very steep with no railing. No worries though because there is also a bedroom downstairs. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook if you’d like with plates, utensils, pans, etc. A big yard with the prettiest set of corn hole, lots is space to lounge around, and even a comfy hammock. I would definitely recommend her place to anyone else looking to stay!

  • Carol's home is quiet, clean, and very close to downtown. The room is cozy and warm!

    Sarah2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Carol's place is lovely, cozy and a walk away from downtown. Great for visiting.

    Evan2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The room is small, but good value for the price. Carol is kind and easy to talk with. Walking to town: the movies, library, postoffice, restaurants is an easy jaunt and quite fun. In my case, I walked to 6 am morning meditation at St Michaels Episcopal in just 8 minutes!

A review says it best; "It's like you're a visiting Garden Goddess (or God!), connecting with and blessing all the vegetables and flowers. Soft rainfall in the night made it extra refreshing and luscious. The futon bed, with sumptuous quilts and fine cotton sheets, was super comfortable. The simplicity and charm cannot be beat in my book! It's a tiny town, and I was able to walk to my dinner rendezvous, visit the bridge of flowers, and find my morning coffee and pastry, easily and joyfully!"
This is a private garden shed in my upper backyard. Meant only for those who are adventurous and enjoy rustic accommodations. Windows and curtains on 3 of 4 sides. with 2 sides getting natural ventilation if wanted. A steep stone stairway leads you to the upper garden where the Garden shed (aka G-shed) looks out on the garden and the surrounding hills and town center which is within walking distance. A full size futon bed awaits with fresh sheets and towels provided. Bathroom available in the main house on the second floor with bath/shower. Shed has views of vegetable garden, The bridge of flowers and the Deerfield River. Although no heat is provided (yet as of Aug 2016) there is an ample amount of wool and down comforters at your disposal for colder climes.
Shellburne Falls is a wonderful little village with many delicious restaurants and artisans studios. The bridge of flowers ,glacial potholes are some of The natural attractions will see here in town. We are 10 minutes from Berkshireast ski resort with mountain biking, zip lining and mountain coaster and Zoar Outdoor, Crab Apple white water rafting. We have some of the best motorcycle as well as bicycling roads in the Northeast.
  • The cabin is such an adorable place. If you want to experience the magic of New England, stay there!

    Amy2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • As other reviewers have said, this is a charming shed, very clean with a comfortable cozy bed full of quilts and an enormous down comforter. It feels like glamping. The location is very central and convenient. I enjoyed sitting on the little porch reading, journaling and enjoying the beautiful scenery. A great co-op, and wonderful restaurants in walking distance makes for a lovely stay. I will say that it is located on a main road and I found that traffic began early in the morning and the noise made it difficult for me to sleep (stayed here in summer with windows wide open). I would bring ear plugs next time...and I would stay here again as the rustic charm outweighs the traffic noise for me.

    Amy2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Second time around was just as good as the first. Having the opportunity to get to Shelburne Falls again, this was the only place that came to mind. And rightfully so. The shed was just as comfortable as I remember it being. And even with the temperatures being hot for New England standards, the combination of natural ventilation and the fan in one of the open windows helped to keep it nice and cooled it off well at night. Kelly, as always, was wonderful with communication in the leadup to and during the visit. Still very highly recommended. Shame it took me three years to get back, but I'm happy I did.

    Michael2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • You can sit on the shed's little porch at night, looking out over Shelburne Falls, and have a glass of wine while you watch the fireflies come out - something I haven't seen for awhile. It's a sweet place and the house - where you journey for the bathroom - is just lovely - with beautiful hardwood floors, a working loom in the living area and a clawfoot tub in the bathroom! Also the location can't be beat - you can walk into Shelburne Falls in minutes - or take the Bridge of Flowers route and take a little more time to absorb the beauty. Thank you Kelly!

    Susan2019-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a unique spot in Shelburne Falls. A very simple place to lay your head. Kind of like camping.

    Louisa2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is a must-stay expereince. It is right in town, but in the cabin, you feel like you are in the enchanted woods in the Berkshires. The bedding (i.e. the down comforter) was sublime. It was such a cute authentic Berkshire expereince. Now having discovered the cabin, I think I will be a regular staying there on my short vacations to the New England!

    Amy2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • You haven't lived until you've slept in the Garden Shed! If you're adventurous, you can't beat the price or the location. The view of the stars on a clear night is to die for and I woke up both mornings to a view over the sunflowers of mists of fog in the valley over the river. It's like camping but much more comfortable.

    Dan2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • I made a last minute request, which Kelly accepted and made ready for me. You can expect quiet and calm — most of the time! A couple trains came chugging by during the night, but that’s part of the charm of this little town.

We have huge floor to ceiling screened in windows, 5 acres of rolling property with amazing views, a babbling brook and a river nearby. We are a 10 minute walk from a clean river stocked with fish, and there is hiking nearby. If you love animals, this is the place to be! We have chickens and ducks. We love meeting , welcoming, and taking care of people. My guests leave as friends!
We have a cozy private room upstairs fully furnished with a King size bed. It is located right across the hall from our full bath that has both a large tub and a separate shower. I am a potter and can give you potters wheel lessons. We also have about half an acre of blue berry bushes and many varying fruit trees that will be working full time this summer. We also have a van with a bed for 2 short people or kids. My husband and I find it very comfy. We are both short, though.
This is a very rural area, with a population of about 600. The closest store is twelve minutes away. The closest town and gas station is twenty four minutes away. While you may hear peepers, chickens, ducks, donkeys, river noises, goats, lambs, and the occasional dog barking, there is absolutely no car sounds or other noise congestion. Since we live in such a rural area we also have a very grand display of stars. On clear nights one can make out many, many different constellations and we have witnessed shooting/falling stars and have been able to clearly see planets before in the summer months. Zoar Outdoor and Crab Apple white water rafting are located close by and provides guided river rafting and zip lining. Great for all ages! Charming Shelburne Falls, Brattleboro, Vermont and Greenfield, Ma are less than 30 minutes away. Between here and bigger towns there are a plethora of hiking trails, swimming holes, fishing rivers, mountains, ski mountains, and other natural attractions. There's lots of attractions near by for people and families of all ages. There are many places to eat, grab a drink, dance, see plays, hear live music and more, in lots of nearby, towns like Amherst, Keene, Northhampton, Brattleboro VT, scenic Shelburne Falls, with the Bridge of Flowers, arty Wilmington Vt. (which has skiing and boating), Greenfield, and Amherst. (To name a few) Mass Moca, Clark Art Institute, Smith Art Museum, The Eric Carle Museum, and Williams College Art Museum, and Tanglewood are all about an hour away or less. Here in Leyden there are two retreat centers, Angel's Rest and SpiritFire offer retreats with various content. Rowe Conference Center, which offers workshops, and Kripalu Yoga are close by. We are near the Deerfield and Green rivers, both excellent fishing spots. The nearby Apalachian Trail offers great hiking. Stop on your trip to Vermont or the Berkshires as we are about twenty minutes to I 91 and route 2. We are near local boarding schools, and 45 minutes from the 5 colleges in Amherst and Northampton. Restaurants, great views, music venues, and family-friendly activities are nearby. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and couples with a baby.
  • A beautiful and peaceful location. Such a sweet helpful couple. I highly recommend!

  • Very clean, nice, and comfortable home. Rhonda and her husband are great hosts, and the area is beautiful. Highly recommended!

    Dan2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay at Rhonda's place. The room was tidy and clean, the house beautifully decorated with Rhonda's own art and they have a lovely albeit shy dog. She and her husband were most welcoming. I was surprised as this is the first time I had so much interaction with my bnb host. We had interesting conversations and also had the chance to share dinner which I greatly appreciated. There is also plenty to do within the area, from hiking to art museums, all within reach of 1 hour of driving. I definitelyrecommend staying here!

The water pressure on the shower is meh, but shouldn't be a game changer unless that really matters to you. We had TONS of fun at the bowling alley in town. Also had great meals at El Sotano, Gypsy Apple Bistro, and Delicatesse.

There's two great restaurants, two pizza places an American style diner, dunkin donuts and a convenience store/deli within a few miles.

  • Another great time at Chris’s, this time with a new baby in tow! Heat worked well during a January snowstorm and the four of us (two adults, one baby, one dog) stayed nice and cozy inside. Chris plowed the driveway and walks during the middle of our stay (after the snow) which was great! Our dog once again enjoyed going nuts in the field across the street, and the three humans enjoyed excursions to nearby Greenfield and also the candle factory. We will return!

  • I highly recommend Ron & Debbie’s cottage! It vastly exceeded my needs and expectations then some!! This was my first time using Airbnb... My stay was nothing less than perfect! This cottage is surrounded with breathtaking views in every direction. The STUNNING view of Sugarloaf Mountain, enormous trees and nestled in some gorgeous landscaping (thanks to the continuous efforts and hard work of Ron & Debbie to keep everything in pristine shape). I fell in love with the location immediately! The cottage offers ALL of the amenities you could possibly need. Goodness.. where do I start?! It is such a private and tranquil home away from home. Clean, comfy, spacious, equipped with a full kitchen/toaster/coffee maker... even a stackable washer & dryer. Ron & Debbie were such FANTASTIC hosts. So hospitable, accommodating and were always just a call away. Felt as if I had known them forever and made it really tough to leave. I travel from TX to MA to visit my brothers every 3-4 months and certainly plan to make this my MA home away from home. If any of you guys are ever in or around Deerfield, MA then this is definitely your place. It will not disappoint!!

  • We (4 good friends), spent one night at Debbie and Ron’s charming cottage and wished it could have been longer. The grounds are beautiful and provide private outdoor space. The cottage was clean and spacious and provided many cozy areas for reading, conversation and meals. Debbie and Ron were friendly and helpful. We hope to return someday!

  • I was so lucky to find Debbie's place to stay the day before and after my wedding at Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory. It is beautiful, spacious, comfortable and has an interesting history. It was so lovely that we chose to do most of our wedding prep and a few before pictures here. Debbie was awesome to allow some of our guests to come in and out the day of our wedding to visit and my young niece enjoyed napping in the upstairs room during the ceremony. We would happily stay here again and recommend it to all.

It's quiet .....friends gather for Friday night pot luck. The library is a center for movies ,art shows , play ground fun for the kids...etc. Town pub is a weekend social with music and pizza. I really enjoy living here.
  • Great place to stay, if you want to get away it's pretty nice. Bring stuff to do and have plans for the outdoors. Thanks, Janice!

A cozy country home, we're surrounded by hay fields with big sky and beautiful views with many amenities nearby. Conveniently located 1 mile off Route 91, with easy access to points north (Brattleboro, VT, 15 minutes) and points south (Northampton, MA, 40 minutes). We welcome all walks of life and we are 420 friendly. Please read the listing details for more information.
Our quaint and cozy dormer cape farmhouse was built in 1930 and is surrounded by several acres of hay fields, with a majestic line of sugar maples facing the street. With beautiful surroundings throughout the year, we’re within a 5 to 50 minute drive from places for: biking, hiking, fishing, boating, skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling, as well as museums, first-rate restaurants and shopping. During the growing season there is a variety of organically grown berries and fruit available for sale from our garden, as well as freshly made jams, fruit syrups and other preserves year-round. In warm weather, sit out on the arbor-deck in the garden and enjoy beautiful views and sunsets, enjoy a meal or stargaze. Relax on the front porch and enjoy the neighbors’ draft horses and cows across the street. In cold weather we often have our old-fashioned cookstove going, which we use for cooking and baking, as well as a source of heat, and you can relax and read, watch TV, cable or a DVD, or just enjoy the warmth of the stove. Please note that while we are happy to have you enjoy it, we must ask that guests not use the cookstove when we're not home. We’re in a quiet, safe neighborhood; the elementary school is a half mile away and the police station only a mile away. It’s a ten minute drive to a full-size grocery store and twelve minutes to the Baystate Franklin Medical Center. Michael and I are discreet, laid-back hosts, and we try to accommodate schedules as best we can. If at all possible we would like you to check in by 9 pm and check out by noon, but with advance notice we can adjust our time requests. We are happy to work out other arrangements if possible when you let us know in advance.
Bernardston is a small town, about 2000 people. Farms abound, so scenery is pastoral and idyllic. For such a small town, we have quite a few amenities within a 20-minute walk or 1 mile drive to downtown Bernardston, which has: a bakery, diner, art gallery, two pizza and sandwich shops, a deli, convenience store, Dunkin’ Donuts, gas station and the lovely little Cushman library. If you walk in the opposite direction, it’s 15 minutes to Kringle Candle and The Farm Table restaurant, as well as the TownLine Creamie, a seasonal food and soft-serve ice cream stand. From our town website: "Bernardston is a small rural town in western Massachusetts, located in north central Franklin County, on the border between Massachusetts and Vermont. The town is 23.4 square miles in area, with a population of approximately 2100. The town enjoys an Open Town Meeting form of government, with a three member Board of Selectmen." Our studio space (250 sq ft) is separate from the main house and located on the outskirts of Greenfield MA. The location provides easy access to downtown, restaurants, shopping areas and Interstate 91. Modern decor, tiled artsy bathroom and sweeping views of Berkshire foothills make this a great choice for foliage season, summer recreation and choice winter skiing. Our house is 90 miles west of Boston, 60 miles north of Hartford and a 3-hour drive from the Canadian border.
Walk-in shower, 32 inch TV with Chromecast, high-speed WiFi, refrigerator, microwave, coffee/espresso/tea and lots of nice details in this living space. Full climate control with heating & cooling mini-split. The guest house does not have a full kitchen so we share this space as requested.
Our house is located in the rural section of Greenfield, about a mile from bucolic Greenfield Community College, the host of the annual Green River Festival. You need a car to stay in this location -- there is no public transportation or Uber service.
  • I was in the area for work, I spent about 4 to 5 weeks there, it was clean, and very quiet, anytime I’m in the area for work I will definitely be looking JJ and Sandy up and see if the place is available. And I was very happy to meet Ginger dog.

  • My girlfriend and I and one more friend needed a place to lay our heads for a night to break up our traveling to ski resorts. Joseph and his family were very nice and helpful with suggesting a location to get some food and drink before going to sleep. His home is beautiful and super clean and spotless. The two bedrooms we had upstairs and the bathroom we had are basically private as his family only utilized the downstairs living areas. The bedrooms had very comfortable beds and pillows and the temperature was set perfectly. The bathroom was very nicely created/decorated and super clean and they even included fresh towels for each of us. Nice touch. Check-in was very easy with coded door and communication responses with Joseph were always very timely. We will definitely stay here again during our travels.

  • Very nice place!

    Joshua2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • brand new house, high quality furnishings and finishes. both rooms upstairs share a bathroom only for guests, the only other room upstairs is currently unused, so the area is quite private despite being a shared house. the linens were the best i have ever slept on, may have been silk. bed was excellent and modern as well. place smelled great. excellent place to explore the area, (5 min from lady kilgrew for great food and view) only avoid if you are looking for a place to party it up

Clean, comfortable and conveniently located right in downtown! This is a sunlight-filled, cozy and tidy apartment. It has a Queen-sized bed and a guest room with a single bed. Walking distance to many highlights of downtown Brattleboro, the large, older building has charm and a plethora of great neighbors:restaurants, bakeries and funky shops abound, just steps away. Family friendly and also perfect for a solo traveler. It has tall ceilings and 4 large windows overlooking the river and mountain.
    Best possible location in downtown
  • Alyssa is a super hospitable, friendly host; the apartment is perfectly situated in the heart of Brattleboro - highly recommended!

    Jonathan2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • the space is close to everything. Alyssa is a tremendous host and always available to help out. As she notes, the condo is right on the main drag, so, if you are a light sleeper, this may not work well for you. This is particularly true on week-days. i had no problems. Mocha Joe's is a good way to start your day. The Whetstone Brewery is a good way to end it. (Beer is good--food not so much--at least in my experience. ) Great place to stay.

    Jeff2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • A great apartment, in a great locations, with a wonderful host. I greatly recommend this location.

    Robert2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Alyssa’s place is cute, clean, and perfect for a weekend getaway for 2. You can’t beat the location - great shops and restaurants a few steps away! Also very convenient for skiing at Mt. Snow ... about a 30 minute drive. Alyssa showed us great hospitality, and even had a bottle of wine waiting for us upon arrival! Would highly recommend!

    Tori2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great apartment in the downtown area. Friendly host and clean place.

    Ashley2019-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Alyssa’s place in downtown Brattleboro was wonderful. She was a very considerate and generous host, made us feel right at home. She was helpful with tips for stuff to around town, easy to communicate with and all around great. The space was perfect, too. It was clean, comfortable, and there are lovely views of the river and hills. Plus you can’t beat the location!

    Jensen2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Extraordinary!!! Alyssa is probably the best host that I've ever had in Airbnb. Very friendly, helpful and caring, she made sure that I was comfortable not only in the apartment, but also in town. Regarding the place, it's right in downtown Brattleboro, which is very convenient. Most of restaurants, pubs and even hikes are walking distance. Inside, it has all that you need, it feels warm and cozy. Mine was a long stay (several months), and the length changed and extended several times depending on my work. Sometimes, I had change at the very last minute, so Alyssa had to cancel a few other guests who had booked the apartment for a shorter visit. As I was already settled in the apartment, and was going to stay for longer, it made sense to accommodate my situation at the time. I totally recommend the place for a nice experience in Vermont. Thank you for everything Alyssa!

    Dolores2018-10-04T00:00:00Z
