A rural, cosy, detached barn conversion 20 minutes from Barnstaple, next to our 16th century home and gardens. The barn benefits from it's own central heating, double/ twin bedroom and bathroom, living room, private patio area and use of the grounds. 1-2 well behaved dogs also welcome.
Rosehill Barn - is set in the grounds of a medieval hall house surrounded by lovely gardens and an orchard and has a timeless, peaceful atmosphere; there is very little to disturb you other than birdsong and the mooing of cows in the surrounding fields. The open plan living room has oak flooring and is furnished with a comfortable sofa and chair, TV and DVD player, a pretty dining table and some simple kitchen equipment with microwave, table top hob, small fridge, toaster and kettle. The double bedroom has a large built in wardrobe, and the door opens out into the garden which contains many roses which give the barn its’ name. The bathroom has a Jacuzzi bath with shower over, towels and a limited selection of toiletries will be provided upon arrival. The barn benefits from its’ own central heating and hot water system. We encourage guests to recycle, compost and use energy wisely. Guests will notice we have a solar array in the orchard which contributes to our electricity demands.
A unique rural property on the edge of a small North Devon village with easy access to the market town of Barnstaple and the beautiful North Devon countryside and coast.
  • Lovely host. Left us to our own initiative which we like! Lovely and quiet area. Barn was lovely and warm. The Bath was probably the best part 😀

  • We had a wonderful stay at the barn . Jane was a great host and nothing was too much trouble. The kitchenette and jacuzzi bath were added bonuses . Thank you .

  • This place is very special, cosy and made with a lot of love. Jane was a super superhost, very friendly, welcoming and down to earth. Rose Barn is perfect for a country get away,we are from the city and was so great to be somewhere so peaceful with lush green countryside. The weather was wild which made it even better with the rain pattering on the skylight windows at night, we felt very snug in the comfy bed. Jacuzzi was a real treat as were the pukka teas, yummy biscuits and all the lovely little touches including maps, a handmade guide book and even a bent fork sculpted into a card holder- we loved that :) we would fully recommend staying at Rose Barn if you are looking for some R&R in beautiful surroundings. Thank you

  • Highly recommend Rosehill Barn for a peaceful getaway in beautiful surroundings. The barn was very comfortable with everything needed thoughtfully provided. Our dog Milo, had the best time exploring the wonderful garden and orchard - this was beautiful in February, so must be a picture later in the year ! Well positioned to explore the local area, with lots of excellent dog walks, places to visit, farm shops and places to eat out. A perfect getaway with excellent hosts - thank you !

  • I stayed at the Cider Lodge from the end of January for approximately 2 weeks and I couldn't have been happier. James make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive and aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Fantastically clean and accommodating and very pet friendly. Beautiful and convenient location and only a short drive away from absolutely stunning locations. Would absolutely recommend you stay here, thank you Joel.

    Joel2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a great couple of days at the Cider Lodge. It had everything we needed and James was really helpful. The accommodation was stylish and comfortable, the garden/grounds beautiful. Perfectly placed for getting to the coast. Only wish we could have stayed longer!

  • This little place was perfect for a quiet few days away to reminisce on lovely Devon with my pup. The location was great. Very easy to get to, Quiet, not too rural and not too far away from the nearest city, Barnstaple. The place was super sweet with everything you needed and simple to use appliances. Underfloor heating which warmed up the house quickly, great powerful shower (easy to use!) And a very comfy bed. The big enclosed garden was so pretty to wake up to with all the colours of Autumn and I'm sure George (my pup) loved it just as much! .. Highly recommend this place and James the host was so friendly. Such a lovely stay. Thank you!

  • We booked this for our parents as an escape with their dog Cleo. They all had a fantastic time and said what an amazing place it was to stay. Highly recommended

    David2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Cider Lodge was a lovely place to stay while in North Devon. It was possible to drive to most places of interest in North Devon in about 40 minutes or less and even places North Cornwall could be reached in 1-2 hours. A 10 minute drive to Barnstaple, with it's late night supermarkets was also very convenient. The lodge itself is very well kitted out, clean and modern. The lounge/diner was bigger than we expected as was the bedroom. The cooking facilities and the walk in shower were good too. All utensils and cookware were provided. James, was a fantastic and warm host, where nothing was too much trouble. Little touches such as some milk when we arrived, an email with his suggestions for places to visit (all very good), information on local shops, offering to make restaurant reservations for us really made it a pleasant and stress free stay. This was my first Airbnb rental and I think we struck gold here! Can't recommend Cider Lodge or the host enough.

  • Great stay in a fantastic location for exploring north Devon and Somerset. Accomodation cosy, had everything we needed. James is a good host, thoughtful touches and friendly. Millie our dog loved the garden!

  • What a wonderful stay we had at Nuttywood Chalet. Helen and David are great hosts, and they've really thought of everything to ensure you have a comfortable stay! It was so helpful to arrive somewhere and to want for nothing. We took advantage of the massages on offer and booked them as extras. We both had a hot stone massage, and were not left disappointed. In terms of the location, it's a lovely peaceful spot and has great access to the coast. We would happily stay there again.

    Leah2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Huge thank you to Helen for making our stay comfortable and relaxing. The Chalet is fantastic and I would have no hesitation in coming back or recommending it to friends/relatives. The weather was a disaster (unless you are one of our 2 Springer Spaniels who love the wind and rain) but it was wonderful to come back to a warm, welcoming chalet. The location is excellent for exploring the very best of North Devon.

    Phill2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic chalet! Lovely and cosy (even better than the photos). Helen was a great host and the extras included were thoughtful! Would highly recommend if you want to explore the area or are seeking a relaxing break! We would definitely visit again.

    Sarah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Nuttywood Chalet is absolutely lush! the perfect, modest size for two people and nice and cosy for a winter break. Helen was lovely and all the small touches were what made it so special. Highly recommended!

    Rosie2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute diamond of a stay. The personal touches and the overall decor of the place made us feel instantly at home but also like we were staying somewhere very special. Could not have asked for more. 5 star place, 5 star host.

    Sarah2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • So as all the other reviews have stated... the pictures do not do this place justice! Although they show how snuggly and comfortable it is, I feel it is soo much more! We spent a couple of days walking on exmoor and our last full day snuggling on the sofa during storm Ciara and it was just perfect for that. All the little touches which made it feel soo homely and (as one of the picture on the wall states) a proper love shack. Helen was a lovely host, introducing herself at the beginning and explaining certain things. Then left us to it with the knowledge she was just a text or shout away of needs be. Without a doubt we will be back!!

    Clair2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Another great stay at the chalet! So amazing with such thoughtful touches. It's like a home from home, so cosy and we love the well needed break. Look forward to visiting again:)

A lovely detached hideaway, dating from the 16th century, situated near the pretty churchyard at High Bray, a hamlet that lies above the picturesque village of Brayford in North Devon Set in a beautiful rural community close to the western edge of Exmoor, Old Church House is surrounded by  magnificent countryside. Ideally located for easy access to Exmoor's spectacular moorland and coastline and within easy driving distance of the sandy beaches of  Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe.

The Linhay has been newly refurbished. It is the ideal location for a peaceful break in the heart of the Exmoor National Park. It has a cosy sitting area with wood burning stove, a well appointed kitchen and a double bed with feather duvet and 100% cotton sheets. The cottage is situated on a working farm, the highest on Exmoor. A host of local activities are just a stones throw away: walking, mountain biking, horse riding, sailing, fishing, shooting and country house tours, to name but a few!
The Linhay was once a 19th century farm building. It is now an annexe to the main house and has recently been refurbished to a high standard.
The Linhay is a 5 minute drive from Simonsbath and 20 minutes from Lynton. Braunton and Saunton Sands are 20 miles away. You will find a Sainsbury’s in South Molton which is a 10 minute drive from the farm.
  • We had a great stay here. It was a haven in the middle of the moors, quiet and away from hustle and bustle. Exactly what we had been craving. The cottage had everything we needed, a comfy bed, wood burner and cosy decor for a wet and cold weekend! It was lovely to wake up and see sheep in the courtyard. We liked that slow wifi and limited phone signal allowed us to switch off, snuggle up, read and watch a film. We would definitely recommend this place

    Jo2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is perfect a base to come back after a full day out, it’s very spacious and homely, the bed is lovely, and the bath was ideal. It’s clean and stylish, with thoughtful touches like local biscuits & a helpful guide to the area in the welcome book. We were really pleased that the kitchen is fully stocked and we were able to cook our own food there (as we visited in off season & a rainy day, the local pub was empty!) The area is just stunning, we saw some Exmoor ponies as dusk on our way back to the house, and though we weren’t staying longer - our lovely host said there were some great walks straight from the cottage.

    Rona2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place so lovely clean. Sweet a die for us which was needed after a day of walking around the moors. Self catered and had everything we needed available for us. Struggled finding in the night as had no signal and just followed the address from the map on Airbnb. My own mistake. Thank you

  • Beautiful annexe with everything you could want. The place was spotless and Shelley and Ed had put a lot of effort into all the little touches which made our stay extra special. Perfect little getaway surrounded by incredible views!

Quiet village on the edge of Exmoor close to North Devon coast
Yew Tree cottage is situated near the top of the village & is well situated to explore all that this beautiful area has to offer. The kitchen is suitably equipped for a self-catering stay & the basics of tea, coffee and cooking oils are provided & you are of course welcome to use any fresh herbs available in the garden. There is a washing machine/dryer & washing line up in the top garage- very useful for drying swimming towels (but please bring your own; towels are provided for the bathroom but they are not suitable for the beach). The front room has TV, radio, underfloor heating as well as a wood burning stove - some logs are provided. There is a charcoal BBQ to use in the garden (but please bring your own charcoal). The cottage & garden are yours to enjoy , entry is by a key safe & there is private parking for 2 cars. Only weekly bookings or longer are accepted, but there is some flexibility around checking in & out times.
There is a village shop an easy walk from the cottage for newspapers, bread , milk etc. Sadly the village pub has closed but there are several pubs within close driving distance.
  • This is an extremely well-equipped and comfortable cottage. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need during your stay. We found the cottage to be spotlessly clean. There is a selection of maps and information about the area.

  • A beautifully decorated cottage with lovely touches including tea, coffee, shampoos/shower gels etc. The garden and house had attention to detail and we're kept to a high standard. Cosy log burner was a nice touch as well as plenty of kitchen utensils. Would recommend highly. Fast replies and easy check in. Thank you for the great stay x

    Abbie2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Yew Tree Cottage is really lovely and comfortable and has a very efficient log burner. It was very clean. The garden is enclosed (although our springy springer managed to get out despite the high fencing!) and really pretty with some lovely old knick knacks around and about. Loved the ‘graffiti’ on the old garage door and the vintage Gilera motorcycle. The village is very friendly and has some great walks. We spent lovely days at Saunton Sands and Woolacombe with the dogs. We also enjoyed walks on Exmoor (Rockford to Watersmeet and Hunters Inn to Heddon’s Mouth). The dogs had a lovely swim in the harbour at Ilfracombe. We had a lovely, relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable time despite the weather. Recommend Rock Inn at Georgham, Rockford Inn at Rockford and Hunters Inn at Hunters Valley. Also had some fairly decent Fish and Chips from the van in the village on Friday evening. Caroline was a great host with helpful tips on where to go. Neighbours were friendly. All in all, highly recommend Yew Tree Cottage!

    Lucy2019-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning cottage on the boarder of Exmoor, everything you need at hand. Immaculately clean, great value for money, I would highly recommend

    Ben2019-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Yew Tree cottage is a lovely clean, well presented place to stay. All you need for a retreat away from it all in a quiet village. There's a well stocked village shop for self catering but no local eating places at this time, so need to travel out of the village to find a pub.

    Colin2019-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Caroline’s Cottage for 7 days over the sunny Easter weekend. The cottage was extremely comfortable, beautifully decorated and very well equipped. Caroline’s communication was spot on and her little personal touches made it feel very special, like a home away from home. I would definitely recommend Caroline as a host and the cottage to any one visiting Devon. I have already recommended it to friends and family and know we would love to stay again soon.

  • Lovely place to stay in Exmoor National Park. Cosy, warm and sparking clean. Very comfortable bed. Great communication with Ellen who has also kindly posted us back laptop that we left behind. Thank you Ellen.

    Emila & Jarek2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen’s Airbnb is just across the courtyard behind her house but we enjoyed complete privacy. The space is beautifully decorated and has a well set up kitchen space and washing machine. Ellen also kindly lent us a clothes horse so we could get our washing dry. The shower was excellent and delivered plenty of hot water. The bed was a little soft for my taste but that really is just a matter of personal preference. This would be a perfect place for a quiet weekend away as a couple.

    Alison2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is delightful accommodation tucked right away in the Devon countryside. The hosts have gone out of their way to plan the layout meticulously and there are lots of little touches. There is a very comfortable bed and great shower with a roomy kitchen.

    Chris2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • On our trip through south west England we came across The Vestry, a really beautifully renovated outbuilding of an old chapel, where Ellen and Nick are hosts. A warm welcome made us feel right at home and this was further enhanced after we saw The Vestry inside. With an eye for detail, very beautiful and fully furnished. A wonderful bed, comfortable clubs, a fully equipped kitchen and a beautiful bathroom. Everything had been thought of. The location is a bit off the mark, but the area is beautiful and not so touristy. A gem for people looking for peace.

This is a pleasant one bedroom cottage, in the beautiful grounds of the owner's property. Nearby there is the Famous Jack Russel pub where you can enjoy great food. Within a radius of twenty miles, you have the North Devon coastline, golf clubs including Englands oldest course, fishing, and wonderful walks on Exmoor. The Town of Barnstaple is only five miles away. The cottage has all the facilities for that perfect weekend getaway,
It is quiet, you can hear the birds sing and see the stars at night. Perfect.
The area in which Sunset cottage lies is in a typical country village, with a local pub, pretty church, friendly folk.
  • Very warm welcome from Zena and the dogs! The accommodation is very comfortable and was cosy despite the bad February weather. Everything you need for a break in North Devon, conveniently located for Barnstaple, South Molton, and the coast. Nice garden and views, that would be very pleasant in the summer. Highly recommended.

  • Zenas place is by far the best Air b&b we have ever stayed at!!!!! We picked this initially because going by the photos we wanted value for money but when we got there the experience far exceeded that....... The pictures dont do Zenas place justice as you would need a whole catalogue for the photos. Its set in amazing grounds, with spectacular views. Its so relaxing and zena is so friendly. Her Dogs were just beautiful and kept us feeling safe at night knowing they were protecting us. I wanted to bring all three of them home. If you want hospitality that is second to none, peace and quiet, an extremely well kept property with all amenities then i cannot stress enough that you should pick this property to stay in to experience North devon and surrounding areas. Zena will make the top air b&b hosts list in no time at all Thak you Zena, it was an AMAZING STAY!!!! Kindest regards, Al and Joanne

  • Rachael is an outstanding host. Nothing was too much trouble and it would be an understatement to say she went the extra mile to ensure that our visit was happy and comfortable. Our room was very comfortable and extremely attractive and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable and warm, there is plenty of hanging and storage space. The bathroom is spacious with a superb shower. Everything we could reasonably want was provided for and there were many enjoyable 'extras' to make the stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast was superb and it is no surprise that Rachael has her own catering business. The farm house is in the middle of beautiful Exmoor countryside and very quiet with plenty of parking space. We strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy Exmoor and North Devon. We would have no hesitation in coming again.

  • Thank you to those who wrote reviews as it resulted in me staying here... and what a truly amazing place! My satnav took me elsewhere but I was very close and Rachael met me in her car as it was dark when I got there so couldn’t see a thing. Rachael was an amazing host and couldn’t have done more to make my stay perfect. The house is situated in the most beautiful location and views are breathtaking!!! The bedroom and bathroom are luxurious. Bathroom has two sinks, a rolltop bath and large walk-in shower. Rachael offered me breakfast and as I wasn’t eating brought me up some homemade flapjack and fresh orange. Amazing! There was a Bosch coffee machine and the coffee was delicious. All in all, just perfect!

    Carol2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Rachael and Jeremy have done a wonderful job converting an old farmhouse into accommodation. At the moment they offer one super comfortable double bedroom and a very luxurious bathroom worthy of a five star hotel. Rachael is the most hospitable of hosts and nothing is too much trouble. She provides a very substantial breakfast in her newly converted dining room . Sandy Park Farm is tucked away down a track overlooking a beautiful valley. We had difficulty finding it but Rachel and Jeremy are just about to improve the signage so it should be easier in future. The place is is utterly peaceful and you can sit in Rachael’s newly laid out garden and soak in the view. I should mention that Rachael and Jeremy do not live on site but are close by and always on hand if you need them. If you are looking for peace and quiet and great hospitality you’ll find it at Sandy Park Farm.

  • Gosh! What can we say other than in all our 7 years of doing air bnb, staying at Rachael's luxurious place has been the best! We needed a 24 hour get away and to be spoilt a bit too and we found Rachael and her beautiful airbnb ticked all our boxes. Rachael is a fabulous cook and that was reflected in the tasty and full English brekkie - which kept us going all day - really! The bathroom is stunning, the bed very comfy and all the touches are lovely! Racheal is a warm, friendly and very helpful host who made our stay a wonderful experience!

    Lisa2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Spotless, comfortable accommodation in a lovely old farmhouse in a beautiful, quiet location. Wake up hungry if you're going for the full cooked breakfast! Rachael is the perfect hostess and we couldn't suggest a single improvement.

    Ron2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house, styled to extremely high standard, felt at home as soon as we met Rachael & Jeremy. Everything about our stay was perfect, from the communication, welcome, bed, bathroom, and wow an amazing breakfast. Thank you both for being the perfect hosts with a beautiful home. We highly recommend anyone to stay here. We will if ever in the area again.

  • The cabin was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a hectic few weeks. Very secluded and peaceful, clean and homely, this was the perfect place for an escape. The hot tub was a great addition, and we loved watching the lambs in the field behind in the morning. Lots of local tips and ample countryside to explore- it’s the perfect place for a cosy hideaway break in the countryside. Thank you Jenny!

    Ellie2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful location, as a couple with children and owing our own business we run a busy hectic lifestyle, getting away to the most secluded area with all you need and a bubbling hot tub overlooking miles of unspoilt countryside ticked every box! Didn’t hear any other modes of transport or human beings other than the bleating lambs in the fields behind! Tranquil is an understatement!! A well equipped pod, boiling hot water, pots, pans, plates, thoughtful touches of homemade biscuits, tea, coffee and a pint of milk in the fridge gets you off to the start you need! Would we go back??? Undoubtedly yes!! If you’re after some peace and quiet away from it all then Jenny’s place ticks every box and some!!

    Brett2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, ideally located to explore Exmoor national park. We did a couple of walks around the south coast path which wasn’t more than a 30minute drive away and ending a long walk with a rest in the hot tub was the best! Would definitely recommend 😊

  • We had a lovely stay at Three Moors View, set in a beautiful location with incredible views out across the Devon countryside. The cabin itself is stunning - never stayed anywhere quite like it, so cosy and peaceful, was just what we were looking for. The hot tub was a massive plus for us, definitely helped with the aching muscles after a day exploring the surrounding area. We ate at The Poltimore Inn one evening, great food and a lovely local atmosphere - 5 minute drive away in North Molton. Jenny was a great host and really easy to contact throughout. We will definitely be visiting this little gem again soon.

  • Everything was perfect, great location, so peaceful. Lovely comfortable, cosy little house, great views and loads of lovely thoughtful touches which made us feel so welcome. Most importantly very comfy bed and really appreciated my favourite smellies in the bathroom!

  • Kirsten and Ian were fantastic and made our stay in North Devon perfect! The location and views are incredible, the house is beautiful, tastefully decorated and sparkling clean. We were greeted with a lovely thoughtful hamper and a personalised detailed information sheet. Kirsten and Ian were incredibly kind and were always around to give assistance/answer any questions we may have had. The bed was very comfy, towells were fluffy and the shower was incredible. We were even allowed to check out late and will definitely be returning, thank you for a wonderful stay!

    Sophie2019-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is a truly glorious spot in the lovely Devon countryside, and could not be better situated with beautiful views onto rolling green fields. The barn is newly converted, and inside is so stylish with gorgeous fittings and yet still somewhere very comfortable where you feel like you can relax. It was wonderful staying inside on a rainy day after a busy week and just relaxing, and was also great to be so close to the seaside when we felt like venturing out. Kirsten and Ian were wonderful hosts, very warm and friendly. It felt like they thought of everything we could need, especially in the kitchen and living space. We cooked for ourselves for most meals and the kitchen was very well equipped. There were some especially lovely touches throughout, including a welcome hamper with a bottle of bubbly, chocolate biscuits and fresh eggs from the hens on the property. The place was very quiet and peaceful, somewhere to truly feel like you can get away from it all. We would have loved to have stayed much longer and would love to come back some time. We definitely recommend this place to anyone keen for an idyllic and tranquil escape.

•Single shepherd's hut on a small 14 acre working farm.• A short drive to Exmoor Zoo, Wistlandpound Reservoir and the coast. Right on the edge of Exmoor, peace, quiet, fab views up to the moor and down towards the sea. Benton View site is set just outside the Exmoor National Park , with one cosy shepherd's hut in its own area among a grassy orchard field. Sheep and chickens wander the site – the tiddlies are welcome to say hi or go and meet some of the menagerie. All welcome, wait to meet you.
The location is peaceful, remote and we have spectacular scenery. The handcrafted shepherd's hut sits in its own garden area, separated from the rest of the orchard field (and the wanderings of any friendly farm animals) by a little picket fence, with a smashing barbecue area and a picnic bench for alfresco feasts. The hut is also fully insulated and has a kitchenette with a gas burner and a sink, a table and chairs for two to dine comfortably on, as well as a cosy double bed with fresh linens provided; the hut's little log burner generates enough heat to keep the hut nice and toasty throughout the winter months and can be used on cooler summer nights too, if needed, so you're guaranteed a swell stay no matter the season (logs supplied). The huts lighting is solar panelled. Also within the hut there is bullet charging points for your phone.
We are in a small quite hamlet just outside of Bratton Fleming where there is a village shop, church and a social club. Central to a lot of attractions. For pedally adventures, the Tarka Trail cycling route runs right alongside the site; part of the Devon Coast to Coast Cycle Route, it's one of the longest traffic-free walking and cycling paths in the country, taking you past river valleys, bays, moorland and coastal cliffs. Exmoor Zoo is also an easy four miles from base and well worth spending a day at to see the likes of armadillos, alpacas, and the Exmoor Beast; the Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park is also a short drive away towards the coast, while Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton are all within 20 miles for days out by the sea. Wistlandpound Reservoir, six miles away, is a popular spot for family days filled with nature trails, birdwatching and wildlife spotting. Set among the tors and moors of Devon and Exmoor and bordered by a conifer plantation, Wistlandpound is encircled by two wheelchair-accessible paths dotted with interpretation boards and activity stations to help you learn about the local nature, and a pergola goes right up to the water’s edge for splendid views across the reservoir. For something town-based, take skater kids over to Barnstaple’s Rock Park for skateboard or play area action while you wander around the town's ancient Pannier Market and Butchers Row, picking up local foodie supplies, handmade Devonshire crafts, art and antiques (handy souvenir fodder); and if you feel like sticking around for an evening, check out what's on at Queen’s Theatre or tour the local pubs to sample local ales and maybe catch a bit of local live music while you're at it.
  • Absolutely amazing stay! We booked an overnight stay during Storm Dennis but the hut was so cosy! Mandy and Andy greeted us on arrival and introduced us to all of the animals on their farm - such a lovely touch! Nothing was too much trouble and they are very warm, down to earth people. Highly recommended! Thanks so much for a fabulous stay! Xx

  • Gorgeous hideaway, beautiful decor & great hosts, including the animals! Thoughtful welcome pack left definitely would go back x

  • What a dream this place is! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome and felt right at home. Mandy & Andy are the most friendly people you could meet! We were shown to the shepherd hut where everything has been thought of, from the fresh flowers to the welcome treats of cream tea, Prosecco and the little Lindt Easter chocolate lambs! ❤️ From a peaceful, comfortable nights sleep to waking up opening the door and being greeted by all the sheep including sweet Summer and Mental, you almost forget that you are on holiday and will have to go home at some point. We loved getting involved with all the animals including Truly Scrumptious, Joy, Monty, Alfie, Olive, Summer, Mental (to name a few) even Ebony the goat head butting us! (Or at least trying to!) but what truly makes this place is Mandy & Andy. We will be recommending this shepherd hut to everyone and I am sure we will be back in the not so distant future! If you are thinking of booking this place, stopping thinking about it and just do it! You won’t regret it! Perfect places for both adults and children! Thank you both so much for a wonderful peaceful break! 🐑 ☀️❤️

  • We had a wonderful stay at Benton View. The hut has everything that you could need, including a comfy bed and lots of cosy blankets and cushions. In the morning, it was lovely to see the animals grazing and the birds singing and sheep. Feeding the lambs and holding the chicks was a highlight. We even had eggs from the chickens for breakfast! It is in a great base for exploring the beaches, moors and Tarka trail. Mandy and Andy are incredible hosts and made our stay extra special! We will be back soon :)

Forget a room with a view, how about a cabin with a view, and a hot tub too! Sunset Cabin is a place to escape it all in a stunning location within 22 acres of north Devon countryside and lying near to an iron age hillfort and a lake. This self catering cabin has 3 bedrooms that comfortably sleeps up to 4 adults (in 2 double beds) and 2 children (in bunk beds). The location is perfect for a holiday in north Devon with plenty to explore, such as the wonderful beaches and Exmoor National Park.
The clue is in the name! After a long day exploring north Devon this is the perfect place to unwind, with a glass of something nice, while watching the spectacular sunset. Sunset Cabin has the most wonderful sunset views that will take you breath away. Followed by a clear night with the most beautiful starry skies, this truly is a special place. The cabin has it's own private hot tub with countryside views for guests to enjoy at their leisure. The two double bedrooms are both good sizes, one with an ensuite shower room, and there is one family bathroom. There is a smaller bedroom with bunk beds to sleep 2 children. Despite having 3 bedrooms this cabin is popular and cosy enough as a romantic getaway for a couple! Towels and linen are provided. The kitchen is fully stocked with all that you'd expect including a kettle, toaster, microwave, oven. The living room is comfortable and cosy ... especially when the log burner is lit! The private hot tub is available for guests to enjoy throughout their holiday. It is important the guests read the guidance on how to operate and safely use the hot tub in order to keep it clean and make the most of it, which we email to guests prior to their stay. Please note the hot tub may be out of action on the day of your arrival due to cleaning, but will be ready for use in the morning. The cabin is in a rural location, about a 5 minute drive from the village of Bratton Fleming. There are a number of great pubs/restaurants (many of them dog friendly) that we can recommend which are all within a 10 - 30 minute drive away. There is parking for up to 2 cars and an enclosed garden although you are welcome to explore the 22 acres of countryside at your leisure, which includes woodlands, a lake and an iron age hillfort. On a clear day you can see sea views to Hartland Point in Cornwall and if it's a clear night the stars are breath-taking! We are very dog friendly and doggies are welcome to stay. Please note that dogs must be kept off all furniture, muddy paws must be cleaned before entering the cabin, and all dog poo must be picked up from the garden and paths. There is an additional charge for more than 2 dogs. There is plenty to see and do in north Devon during your visit. Why not try your hand at surfing at the nearby beaches such as Croyde, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe, or hire a bicycle and ride the famous Tarka Trail, or go hiking in Exmoor, or walk the spectacular South West Coast Path? Other attractions to visit include Arlington Court and Castle Hill Gardens that are also very close if you like to explore National Trust properties, or for something different you could visit Quince Honey Farm in nearby South Molton. There’s plenty for kids too, such as the Exmoor Zoological Park, Milky Way Adventure Park and Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park. Please note the cabin is unfortunately not disability or wheelchair friendly.
  • Not only were we wonderfully surprised by the cabin and it's views but I don't think the pictures do it justice as to how cosy and homely the place felt! Matt and Pru went above and beyond with such a thorough guide on the area, best places to see and visit, the best places to take your dog and tonnes of personal recommendations that were spot on! Even when the weather was awful, we all cosied up with their complimentary blankets, a cup of tea and watched the sunset through the large glass doors. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely home!

  • A well positioned cabin which is both clean and well resourced. Great hot tub and really helpful hosts. A great place for some really good quality family time.

    Kate2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is really breathtaking. The photos do not do it justice! The cabin is sparkling clean with everything single amenities you could possible need. Matt and Pru are very kind and very quick on response. They had a large array of board games, dvd's and books to keep us occupied. The hot tub is perfect for the cold night with great views. Our dog loved the cabin and the walks on site. Such a beautiful area that we cannot wait to come back to. Such a memorable, relaxing and romantic place.

  • Beautiful cabin, peaceful location and we loved the hot tub😊

    Abigail2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing time at Sunset Cabin! Matt and Pru are great hosts, we can highly recommend this place for anyone!!! We'd love to be back in summer for a few days! :))

  • I knew from reviews and online research that Sunset Cabin was going to be something special, but I had no idea just how wonderful our 2 night stay would be. Beautiful, discreet cabin that sinks effortlessly into its surroundings, immaculately clean, warm, cosy, comfortable, furnished to suit your every need, log fire and hot tub to die for! We were blessed with a gorgeous sunset on our 1st night so it was clear to see how the cabin got its name! Set in acres of mossy woodland that we all loved exploring .... the remnants of previous guests 'dens' scattered around was pure delight for our children and Pru and Matt's dogs were lovely friendly company for our dog while we all explored! We had lovely evenings in sat in front of the log fire playing the board games and puzzles from the generously stocked 'fun shelves' as our children named them! Thank you Pru and Matt - we will definitely return as soon as the opportunity arises.

    Tracey2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely delightful cabin set in glorious countryside. We went with our dogs and were pleased to find an enormous garden and additional on site acreage to walk them in. The hot tub remained hot and was cleaned regularly. The cabin was fantastic and couldn’t have asked for anything more. We had a really relaxing time at the cabin and look forward to returning!

Do you ever wish you had some friends with a stylish country house in a beautiful part of the south coast, friends who know all the best local walks, beaches, cycle routes, villages and country pubs? Well, now you do.
Heasley Mill is a dreamy little hamlet on the edge of Exmoor. Save a few tractors and people on horseback in the daytime, the main noises you will hear are the river flowing through the valley and the surrounding wildlife of livestock, birds, and wild animals.

  • Fantastic weekend had by our 2 families at Woodpecker Lodge. Hospitality was fab, from the homemade cookies on welcome, complimentary tea/coffee etc, and the detailed info and tips given beforehand on local sites, pubs, walks and attractions. Hot tub was brilliant, and the lodge very spacious, having so many bathrooms (one for each bedroom really) was excellent. A holiday home done exactly as I would do if I had my own, and we can't wait to return! Many thanks to Matt and Pru

  • This place is lovely, really unique and bespoke. It's a great place to stay and unwind or as a base for visiting places locally. I highly recommend the Old Station Inn which is only about a 7 minute drive away - huge portions! You wont be disappointed either with Woodpecker Lodge or with the pub. My family was met by Matt and they tell me he was really helpful. The biscuits on the table were amazing.

  • A great location that suited our needs perfectly. Friendly helpful hosts - there if you need them. The character cottage is very spacious but cosy and has beautiful views. Big kitchen and dining area, more than enough space for 3 families of 6 adults and 6 children, The bedrooms were all beautiful, sparkling clean with comfy beds, 3 bathrooms upstairs. The children loved their room together and the fantastic outside space. The surrounding places to visit nearby are stunning. Lots of footpaths to explore. We had a great time at Orchard cottage, would definitely book again, recommended for a quiet countryside stay!

  • Had a great stay over New Year with friends. Plenty space for us and handy extra space in the games room which has a washing machine and an extra fridge. There are some walking paths nearby but we mostly drove 20-30mins to the coastal paths. Easy to get to, and great communication throughout. Would recommend.

    Lesley2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Plenty of room for up to ten people (two in bunk beds)

    Eric2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful cottage with everything we needed for our stay. The garden was fantastic. The children loved exploring it even in the rain! Thank you.

    Caroline2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • The house was lovely and exactly as expected, clean and well laid out. 7 of us including a dog fitted comfortably. The Garden was amazing and we had lovely weather so were able to fully enjoy it. Large bedroom up stairs with ensuite was very comfortable (this is were I stayed) So personally can't vouch for the rest of the rooms, although we did have a complaint about a too soft mattress and a sore back from the ground floor room (but this is more personal preference than a fault) and we located the ironing board but not the iron, I suppose we could have dropped the host a message but seemed too small an issue to disturb anyone over. all in all a lovely home and lovely for a quiet get away.

Such a beautiful cottage coming home to a log fire after working outside on a freezing cold December day we couldn’t of felt cosier. The milk bread eggs and butter was great! With plenty of kitchen utensils. Would definitely stay here again.

  • We were hoping for a relaxing break in a cosy cottage with an open fire and comfy sofas, and this place ticked all the boxes. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and it was lovely to be provided with a selection of breakfast items; the living area was cosy with a great range of books and enough space for our girls to play; the bathroom was clean and the bedroom was comfy. We enjoyed hearing the cockerel in the mornings and seeing the sheep out of the bedroom window. We would definitely recommend this place; thanks Steve 😊

  • We had such a lovely stay at Jacky and Tiggers cabin! They really are hostess’ with the mostest! Going out of their way to make sure our stay was as good as possible (despite torrential rain and one of our party having to leave earlier than expected!). Thanks Jacky and Tigger - we will definitely be back! Nic, Cat and Tracey

  • Amazing unique and fun place to stay! We will definitely be back!! Our friends also - we have spread the word! 😁 Everything was perfect and we are so lucky we were able to stay short notice! X

  • The Wildfire cabin is a wonderful. The boys absolutely loved it and so did we! We will definitely be back but when the sun is shining!!!

  • One night isn’t enough! This place is a great find, amazing hosts and such a unique place to stay. We will definitely be returning and we can’t wait.

  • A really fantastic find, this is a great spot for an overnight stay or weekend away. The fire pit is great for keeping warm in the winter and cooking dinner. Jacky and Tigger both great hosts, easy to communicate with and Tigger gave us a detailed orientation for how everything worked. We had an electric car and charging was provided at 10 mi/hr which was plenty to have a good overnight charge. We’d definitely stay again

  • We had a great stay in the cabin. Jacky and Tigger were really friendly and helpful. The cabin is equipped with everything you could possibly need and made for a cosy stay in the bad weather!

    Alex2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful cabin in the most stunning location. Despite being in the hosts back garden, the cabin is situated in a position which makes it feel like you are out in the middle of nowhere and are secluded from the hustle and bustle of every day life. There is quite a busy road that runs past the cabin which is quite noisy so would advise earplugs or light backgtound music if you are a light sleeper. Jacky and Tigger were outstanding hosts, very friendly and accommodating. They explained how everything worked in detail which was most helpful. There is a folder in the cabin that Jacky and Tigger have put together for their guests which gives you information about local places of interest, things to do, places to eat etc. The location is quite remote, lots of narrow country lanes as well as some main roads. You could walk to the Poltimore Inn but it would take approximately 30-45 mins to get there or 10-15 minutes in the car. Would highly recommend this pub for food and level of service it is fabulous. Would recommend the Wildfire Cabin to couples, small (3/4) to medium(5/6) families as the cabin is very spacious. There is one large bed but plenty of floor space for blow up beds or sleeping bags.

  • I have just re-booked after having such a lovely weekend at Wildfire Cabin. I stayed with my best friend for some relaxation and wedding planning and plan to return with my Fiancé and children so they can also enjoy the wonders of this wonderful little cabin very soon. I highly recommend.

Hillfort Cabin is a cosy 2 bedroom self catering cabin set in 22 acres of beautiful north Devon countryside next to an iron age hillfort. Close to many attractions such as Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton beaches, Exmoor and the South West Coast Path. We are very animal friendly and up to 2 well behaved dogs are welcome. Rates per night range from £75 in low season up to £130 in high season plus Airbnb fees. 1 night stays have an extra charge and are only considered for short notice bookings.
Set in a stunning location within 22 acres of countryside and lying next to an iron age hillfort and a beautiful lake, Hillfort Cabin is a place to stay to escape it all! Hillfort Cabin comfortably sleeps 4 adults, with one king and one double bedroom. There is a bathroom (over bath shower), kitchen with all the essentials including an electric oven, microwave, kettle and toaster, and a comfortable living room with a log burner to warm up those cold nights. Please note that the bathroom is for showering only (not bath), this is because the water system that the cabin is on does not provide enough hot water to fill a bath. A non slip mat for the shower is provided. Unfortunately there is no Wi-Fi available (welcome to rural Devon!) There is parking for up to 2 cars and an enclosed garden although you are welcome to explore the 22 acres of countryside at your leisure, which includes woodland, a lake and an iron age hillfort. On a clear day you can see sea views to Hartland Point in Cornwall, and on a clear night the stars are breath-taking! We are very dog friendly and doggies are welcome to stay. Please note that dogs must be kept off all furniture, muddy paws must be cleaned before entering the cabin, and all dog poo must be picked up from the garden and paths. There is an additional charge for more than 2 dogs. The cabin is in a rural location, about a 5 minute drive from the village of Bratton Fleming. There are a number of great pubs/restaurants (many of them dog friendly) that we can recommend which are all within a 10 - 30 minute drive away.
  • Lovely cabin in a beautiful spot surround by woodland. Feels like a proper little oasis. Lots of thoughtful touches, like cookies and hot water bottles :) and really well equipped. Pru and Matt gave us lots of helpful tips about the area and were a breeze to communicate with. Would thoroughly recommend.

  • Very comfortable accommodation in a lovely location.

  • The cabin is wonderful. We spent 4 nights over New Year and it was heaven. Comfortable, cosy - a very well equipped little kitchen - everything you need. The land here is absolutely beautiful - to be able to step out of the cabin and walk through the ancient hill fort site is amazing. The wider area also has so much to offer and Matt gave us brilliant tips - all of which were spot on. Its an easy drive to Woolacombe for a fantastic beach walk, another day we hiked the coastal path from Heddon's mouth to Woody Bay and back and on our last day we went to Valley of Rocks - each time returning to light the wood burner and relax in the cabin - where we found lots of DVDs and some board games to keep us entertained. No wifi is a joy. Matt and Pru are wonderful hosts and we will definitely return. Its also an incredible dog holiday! I took my two dogs - the garden is spacious and completely secure but what they really loved was galloping about in the hill fort. Thank you Matt and Pru and Happy New Year!

  • Amazing break away as a family. Cabin was beautiful and immaculate and we loved our time getting away from it all. Pru and Matt were so friendly and helpful, offering loads of advice on child and dog friendly walks and pubs etc. Brilliant escape, we loved it! Thank you.

  • We had a pleasant 2 night stay, 2 adults and 4 children. The caravan is fairly old but very well equipped with whatever you need including loads of dvds and some games and toys. The kids loved the chickens and the super friendly dogs, and we were treated to some eggs and scones, cream and jam, a lovely thought. I slept on the pull out bed in the living room which was lovely and comfortable.

    Louise2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great couple of nights stay. Jess was there to meet us upon arrival and everything was very laid back! The caravan was clean and tidy with fresh linen on all the beds and plenty of towels! There were some fresh scones, clotted cream and jam left for us, which was very thoughtful! Challacombe was ideally placed for us to get to the local beaches and we headed down to Woolacombe most days but also into Lynton and Lynmouth! The caravan was just perfect for coming back to in the evening. It was clean and fresh, enabled us all to get refreshed and changed before heading out for a meal and the Black Venus Inn just a few minutes walk down the road was excellent too! The kids thoroughly enjoyed feeding the chickens and turkeys as well as seeing all the dogs and the puppy! I would be happy to recommend it to anyone!

  • Jess' place was very good value in a central location in North devon and is either 20-30 minutes from most major places you'd want to visit. The location is remote with not too many shops so make sure you stock up. There is no mobile signal but the accommodation has good internet so this wasn't an issue for us. We had cream teas and cakes on arrival with great communication and check in from Jess, our children loved feeding the animals and stroking their beautiful dogs! We would come again.

    Michael2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the Bluebird! We were very comfortable and it was a great location for touring around Exmoor and the coast. Jess was very friendly and helpful - we appreciated the cream tea on arrival and her fresh farm eggs! Just be aware that although the home has WiFi, the signal is weak and intermittent but this in not a problem as you can use the free WiFi in the pub, which is a short walk away.

    Sandra2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, simple, clean, and the bedding was fresh and crisp. Beautiful setting in the middle of nowhere. Jess is a fab host, she guided us in late at night when we couldn't find it in the dark. She also made the effort at night to come and tell us we could stay past the check out time the next day. Scones and cream there on arrival. If we're in the area would definately stay again.

    Salima2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location! There were seven of us in the static, but we all managed to fit. The kids had fun exploring and feeding the chickens and turkeys. We enjoyed cooking over the fire. Lots of scenic places within a short drive - we went to Sandy Cove, the Tarr Steps, and the Valley of rocks. For rainy days, there is a vast DVD collection to choose from in the caravan - amazing.

  • A charming cottage in a beautiful spot.

    Douglas2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a tranquil holiday in Devon. Studio is lovely as is the garden. You can sit in your own secluded little valley of an evening, listen to the owls, the stream running by & watch the stars and the milky way overhead. Perfect.

  • Great place with even greater scenery! The house was very clean and well presented. Good location, however the local pub was closed. If you wanted to get some pub grub it’s a bit of a trek to the next nearest pub. We tried the Fox and Goose as recommended in the welcome book, which we can also highly recommend!

    Nick2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very nice stay at this cosy place. The cottage is furnished very nicely and the kitchen well equipped. We enjoyed relaxing on the sunloungers in the beautiful garden next to the small stream. Just perfect.

  • A very well appointed studio with nice touches such as bread and provisions in the fridge together with jams . Location is extremely peaceful with a babbling brook running down the side of the property. Spotlessly clean. Everything you need to get away from the bustling world outside. Thoroughly recommended. Our flat coated retrievers also appreciated the book!
