This is by far one of the best vacation spots my wife and I have experienced (having also visited Kauai and Costa Rica, this place ranks up there!). As the pictures show, it is on top of the water. We spent hours just sitting on the front porch listening to loons, gulls, song birds, reading books, grilling food, taking photos and basking in the midcoast environment. We spent some considerable time paddle boarding up and down the Muscongus Sound and explored nearby inlets and islands, all while interacting with seals! Sharon and Dick couldn't be nicer people and welcomed us graciously. They're very laid back and are just awesome hosts. We highly recommend this gem to anyone looking to have an intimate Maine coast experience in a quiet and relaxing setting. You're just down the road from good restaurants in Damariscotta. We highly suggest the Damariscotta Grill! The one thing to note is the space is small (one room and a bathroom)...but this is what make it a perfect space for couples or a single person. Don't hesitate...this spot is worth it. Thank you Sharon and Dick for your hospitality! We'll be back.

Our stay with Sharon and Dick was near perfect. Their cozy little cottage is truly a fantastic gem. Everything about it from the location and neighborhood, to the spectacular views, the deck, the ever-changing cove, the wildlife, to the cleanliness and tastefully appointed cabin. Our entire experience there and while out exploring the surrounding area was magical. In just a few days we were able to experience fantastic beaches, go on some great hikes, squeeze in a long bike ride around the peninsula and consume a lot of lobster (so much, in fact, that I almost got tired of eating it - almost)! Thanks folks!

What a wonderful cottage perched right on the water! Sharon and Dick thought of everything when they outfitted this cabin. A tiny kitchen has everything you would need to make a quick cup of coffee or an ambitious meal. A nice deck surrounding the cottage offers great views of the harbor – perfect for watching the boating life or just enjoying a good book. This private cottage offered a nice respite for the hustle and bustle of everyday life. And it was great fun to talk to Sharon and Dick about world travels while we vacationed in this little corner of Maine. Sharon and Dick were great hosts in every way. We hope to vacation with then again. Wonderful hosts, wonderful vacation, wonderful property.

We loved staying at Sharon and Dick's place. The location can't be beat - waking up to the water. They were friendly, gracious hosts. The space had everything we needed. It would be small if you weren't traveling with someone you are very comfortable with. We loved grilling on the deck in the evening and using the dock to jump into the water.

I had a delightful stay at this small and bright cottage. It was isolated and extremely quiet yet within reasonable driving distance to interesting places, restaurants, and shopping spots thus I was able to write and read when I wasn't a tourist. The water in the cove came right up to the deck at high tide (the photo on airbnb was taken at low tide). The lobster boats in the cove added to the lovely scenery that included wonderful sunsets. The bed was very comfortable and the Internet connection worked fine. The kitchenette was just that; microwave, electric skillet, toaster, and coffee pot (a grill was available on the deck) with little counter space so it provided some limitations for cooking meals. Sharon and Dick were close by in case they were needed. All in all it was a very positive experience.

Very quiet and peaceful as advertised. The hosts were gracious, friendly and helpful while allowing me to enjoy my privacy.

We could not have been more enchanted with our experience at Sharon and Dick's charming boat house! It was exactly as pictured: quaint, clean and secluded, with a lovely view and total peace and quiet. For a first trip to Maine, we felt like we hit the jackpot starting out in Bremen. The nearby towns were postcard-perfect (make sure to sign up for the Cabbage Island Lobster/Clam Bake out of Boothbay Harbor!) and the Audubon Park just down the road from the cabin had a wonderful wooded trail with secluded cove views. Sharon was extremely responsive and thorough and we were sad to not get to meet her, though her daughter Kendra made sure we had everything we needed. We're already missing it and would recommend this location to anyone looking to explore the area!

My wife, 2 year old daughter, and our dog stayed at Evan's place for a week. Evan was very responsive and helpful before and during our stay. The house has some great old quirky character and was comfortable for the three of us. The location is private with space between you and one other house nearby and the view is excellent. A nice mowed path leads you to the water. We did not spend much time swimming there since the access was a little tricky for a two year old but good for a quick dip at high tide. There is a nice little public access sand beach on a lake on nearby Biscay Rd that was great for kids. The hikes at Camden State Park were fairly easy if you're a hiker but nice views of the ocean. There are other short trail options nearby on Dutchneck Rd and others. Highly recommend the Muscongus Bay Lobster Co in Round Pond. They have all sorts of delicious seafood, it's BYOB, and the atmosphere is casual and fun. Looked like other people brought their own salads and appetizers which seemed like a good idea. Ice cream right down the road at Granite Hall Store. Damariscotta is a cute little town. We were pleased with the Riverside Butcher and the seafood store right next door for meals made at the house. Overall a great place to unwind.

This house is a romantic artist' retreat; situated in the middle of a field of wildflowers next to the sea... it's like stepping into an Andrew Wyeth Painting! Evan left personalized notes that made us feel like we were staying at a friends house. He has a really cool record collection that we enjoyed listening to throughout our stay, and great cookbooks to refer to in the kitchen. Another wonderful feature was the beautiful vegetable and herb garden adjacent to the house, overflowing in the early-fall... it was so lovely that we didn't want to pick from it! This was such a perfect place to stay to have an authentic Maine vacation. We hope to return again soon.

Just lovely! One of a kind. The setting was gorgeous. Easy communication before arrival, close to many great places( hog island Audubon, Hardy's puffin tour, Rockland art galleries and Cafe Miranda, Pemaquid Beach) Hope to return!

First of all, the location - just a few yards away from a misty shore, surrounded by fields of wildflowers - is breathtaking. Second, the house itself is beautiful, like an old ramshackle farmhouse from an Edward Hopper painting. If you like sterile, perfect, corporate - this ain't for you. But if you want an artist's cottage with wood beams and old hardwood floors, a bathtub with feet, great views and all the creaks and character of a place with history - it's great. Evan is a lovely host - having the fridge stocked with staples and a great selection of cookbooks, and checking in without ever being obtrusive. The house belonged to his late father, a painter, and Evan has decorated it with affection. Great LP collection, too. The house can get hot in the summer, and in Maine in the summer, there are bugs. But if you want a place with character and quiet - yet within 30-40 minutes of Rockland and Camden - this is one of a kind. Not unlike a Northern California artist retreat.

Evan's place is beautiful. Situated on Broad Cove and very close to some of the best lobster and beaches in Maine. We loved eating straight from Evan's garden and listening to the fantastic records in his house. We loved the antique feel and the great views from the windows. We could not get enough of the lobster and Broad Cove Marine Services just down the road and the hiking at the Audubon Institute. Evan was so kind and generous--he shared his fantastic tea collection as well as his food. Cannot wait to come back, and hopefully be able to eat more round top ice cream and check out the farmer's market. Thank you Evan for a fantastic time!

Evan's home was beautiful. It was located in a picturesque and serene location away from the hustle and bustle of the normal, nine to five city life my boyfriend and I escaped from. The old time feel of the cottage with its pot belly stove and record player made it a pleasant step back to the past.The garden was in bloom and we were able to utilize it for our morning meals, the coast was an easy walk from the cottage and the idealistic town of Damariscotta, Muscongus Bay and many others, were only a short distance away.

Cottage is beautiful with an amazing view. We loved relaxing in the living room in the evening. Location was perfect for exploring Midcoast Maine including taking the Monhegan ferry from New Harbor. Highly recommend.

Hello Matthew, we spent a wonderful week. It was beautiful, quiet and fun. We loved going pic-nic on the island, kayak and boat and watch at the hummingbirds. Special thanks to Bonnie for her help and kindness. Mind the frog hidden in the red kayak;-) Clémentine, Lionel, Adèle and Jacques.

Annette made us feel very welcome: she had a lot of useful tips and tricks for us and on top of that, we've learned a lot more about Maine and the United States. The best airbnb host we've had, in a very homely and quiet setting. We loved it!

Rental is as described. Private location, yet central to Boothbay and surrounding areas. Check-in was quick and easy. Apartment was clean, tidy, and comfortable. Generally happy with our stay here.

A+++ We had the best time at Annette's! This apartment is inside Annette's personal home, so you get personal attention right from your host. Ask her anything, where to go, what to do, what not to do. She is a worldwide traveler, so has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. You even get one side of her garage, with opener. The night we got there she had dessert for us, thanks Annette!! I forgot to tell you how great it was with our coffee the next morning :) We spent our days exploring the coast. This is 10 miles off the beaten path, so expect to drive some back roads. We drove 30 min south to Pemaquid Point, and another 30 miles north to Camden. Plenty of sites to see along the coastal roads and LOTS of great food. One highlight was the Split Rock Distillery outside of Damariscotta. Quaint towns and plenty of friendly "Mainiacs" to be found! Our favorite night, was walking the path behind Annette's home to the local marina, Broad Cove Marine. You can walk about 3 city blocks to great, very simple, local, lobstah, clams, scallops. 1 lb lobster dinner for 2 was $24. It's BYOB and we took our own wine. Met fabulous locals who showed us how to clean and eat lobster and clams. Sit out on the deck overlooking the bay. Just make sure to walk back before it gets dark! Fabulous experience!

Annette's home was the perfect place for our brief stay in Midcoast Maine. The apartment is immaculate and pristine. The bathroom was like a spa with deep tub, large separate shower, beautiful towels; the kitchen is well stocked; the bedrooms are peaceful with nice linens and large closets. Todd Wildlife Sanctuary with beautiful walking trails around Hockamock Point is less than a mile from the house, and the town of Damariscotta with lots of restaurants and services is an easy 10 minute drive. Annette was helpful in sharing thoughts about best places to swim and eat. We highly recommend Annette's place!

Annette made us feel at home and was always available. She had a good sense of the level of interaction we desired and respected our privacy. We would have liked a microwave, but otherwise the kitchen was nicely equipped. The bath has a cool walk in shower as well as an extra deep tub for soaking. The bedroom is good sized, though we thought the mattress was a bit hard for our taste. There is a computer and printer for guest use. The den/second bedroom has a small television and futon. The house is isolated and very quiet. The view from the deck is lovely, overlooking a field of wildflowers and grasses sloping gently to the sea. It's about a 25 minute drive to Damariscotta where there are several good restaurants and shopping. Pemaquid, about a half hour drive away, offers a sand beach as well as a picturesque lighthouse. We would definitely go back and would recommend Annette's home to anyone looking for a tranquil and restful locale in coastal Maine.

Annette is a sheer treasure! We arrived late because we didn't follow the detailed directions she gave u,s and she welcomed us with warmth and enthusiasm. She welcomed us into a well stocked immaculate lovely home for our 2 nights stay and provided everything we needed including maps to help us get around. After arriving, I wished we had planned more time in her home. I woke up the next morning to a lovely view of the ocean cove. I give Annette and her Midcoast Maine Apartment 5+ Stars!

Annette made us feel very welcome. This was one of our favorite places we stayed while we were in Maine. After staying right in the center of Boothbay we were very excited to be out in the wood, a bit farther away from the crowds of people. Our favorite part was hiking from Annette's back yard to the Broad Cove Marina (5-10 min hike) where we took our own beer and salad and ordered a large lobster and a lb of steamers for less than $20! We were able to have dinner right on the water, it was awesome. Annette also offered for us to use her grill so we went grocery shopping and ate most of our meals right there at the apartment. The apartment is PRISTINE. Very very clean and tidy. She was so nice to offer us various supplies from bug spray to maps to kayaking shoes. We parked our car in the garage and it really felt like home, we would just move in if we could =) Thank you so much Annette for an amazing visit. We will definitely be back!

This apartment was all that we hoped it would be. It is situated on the water in a quiet area in mid-coast Maine. It is fully equipped for a great vacation. Annette is very friendly and helpful, it was a pleasure meeting her and we hope to come back again very soon.

Ray and Lois are so kind. When we arrived at the home there were some snacks in the fridge including local drinks. Very easy to find from their directions and Ray met us personally at the home to go over everything. Fully stocked kitchen for cooking, quiet, and amazing views especially around sunset and sunrise. Ray allowed us to use their kayaks and we enjoyed exploring the area. Great place to stay!

Ray & Lois were wonderful hosts . From the day we arrived they made us and our dog Molly feel so welcome . The house was comfortable and stocked with everything we needed for the week. We enjoyed the back deck for lovely sunrises and sunsets. Location was great ,centrally located between Camden and Boothbay Harbor and a nice quiet retreat to return to after a day of exploring the area. A trip to Monhegan Island and Reid State park are well worth the visit. we would certainly stay here again when we are in the area! Also only minutes from the house is the Olson House made famous by Andrew Wyeth's painting. Very interesting stop.

Clean, cute house in a quiet neighborhood on a hill overlooking a bay with a dock. Dan was great to communicate with and always answered promptly. There's wifi which is great, because there seems to be very little cell service (which we enjoyed). It seems like the house would be even better in the summer when you can use the kayaks!

Great, large house located about 20 minutes outside of Bristol (check out La Verna Preserve and Pemaquid Beach), and 30 outside of Boothbay Harbor. This is a great, LARGE home, with 3 extra beds in the boat house. Would be a great spot for a big reunion. House was SUPER CLEAN, large, comfortable, well equipped, and in great condition. We loved that it was remote, nestled in the trees, with little views of the bay. A quick 30 step walk down to the dock, and the water is right there. Kayaks were ready to go on the dock, and water was calm and peaceful. Dan was very helpful too. He sent me a great packet ahead of time of where to eat, what to do, and who to get our lobsters from! Would definitely come again!

We loved our stay at Jessica's house in Friendship. It was a perfect house to get away for the weekend and relax. The house was confortable, the scenery was beautiful, and we left feeling refreshed and recharged. We would definitely return.

wonderful spot on the Maine coast....front room has so many windows it is like being outside! Lots of space and privacy for each guests with the separate bedrooms. The kitchen had everything one could need. Interesting short walk down to the wharf and lobster boats. Would be perfect during the summer....if the weather is chilly (like in October) take note of the fact that there is no central heat, only 2 space heaters, which worked well for the front rooms. Would recommend this bit of paradise to everyone.

We loved staying in this house. For the 4 of us it was plenty of space, well-equipped, and very clean. Proximity to nearby bays and hiking destinations was great. It was a bit more rustic than we expected, but still very nice. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again sometime.

Clicket was very responsive and was there to answer any questions and make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Her house was also amazing! It was very clean, inviting and cozy. It had an amazing screen porch overlooking the water and nothing could be better than walking out the back door to swim and watch bald eagles! This truly is a home away from home. Modern newer quality-built home disguised as a cottage. Comfortable living with everything included. Quiet, secluded, romantic setting with ever changing water views. Close to the coastal towns and ocean. Close to shopping (Rockland) and services.

We had a wonderful stay. Clicket was a very responsive and friendly host. The home was just as described and very cozy and clean. We loved observing the river at low tide and high tide, it seemed like a natural phenomenon was happening before our eyes. :) The location was relatively secluded and very quiet - a perfect retreat!

Check in was easy and the home was far greater then our expectations. We felt like we had arrived for a long weekend at our own Cabin. The house is set within the woods right on the edge of the Back River, which is an inlet from the nearby Friendship harbor. Watching the tide go in and out provided for a greater connection to the uniquely Maine environment. Coming from Arizona I was pleased to find that there were fireflies at dusk. Both of my girls had never seen them and were equally amazed. The kitchen is super well equipped. A large lobster pot made cooking our fresh lobsters we bought right off the Friendship docks for $5 per/lbs, a breeze. Three nights was not enough for us. Highly Recommended!

Peter was accessible and prompt in his responses to our initial questions before arrival. David was a terrific host and genuinely interested in our comfort. We thoroughly enjoyed the time in his company. As swimmers, the proximity to the water from the property itself and the beach nearby was excellent.

It was our first trip to Maine and we made a good choice of renting Pete's cottage over a B&B inn. Pete has been in touch and very responsive since day 1. He provided detailed written description about the cottage, its history, the surroundings and its operations. We felt very prepared when arriving the cottage. The place is neat and clean and easy accessible to the beach. Neighbors are very nice and Pete's brother lives next door is always there to help and answer questions. Our stay in Round Pound was perfect. Anne is a lovely person, we had some nice talks with her. Her house is great and she has everything set perfectly for her guests. We had 3 wonderful days, visitng the Damariscotta region and the Pemaquid peninsula. We also found the best deal for lobster on the Maine Coast: the Loberstemen Coop, it's just a 10-min walk from the house (then go for an ice cream @ the Granite Hall store and you're all set!!!) We really hope to come back. Thanks again Anne, we highly recommend your place :-)))

It's a cozy modern house, a short drive away from Pemaquid Lighthouse (which is picturesque!). We did not use much of the kitchen but there were breakfast staples available for us. Phone signal is intermittent and even non-existent in some parts of the house and in town, so be prepared to check out of your mobile phones. Internet was available, albeit quite slow. Anne was not around when we came but check-in was breezy. She was also in constant communication to make sure we were okay. Over-all, a lovely stay!

Anne's house is charming. The cute little village of Round Pond is charming (and it's just a short walk to the village center from the house). But the best part of Anne's Airbnb: Anne. This woman could be a Moth StorySLAM favorite! Such an engaging, smart, strong (and yes, charming) woman. She's lived a full life — and if you're up for it, she'll tell you all about it.

Anne was a WONDERFUL hostess. Her place is charming, clean and welcoming! It is situated in an adorable scenic area and I was so happy with it! I was so lucky to have such a charming hostess!!!

If you are looking for a tranquil place to rest, look no further. Anne's house is a wonderful escape from a busy city life. The open fields, the chirping birds, the colorful flowers and sweet smelling air are relaxing. The accommodations are perfect. There is a very comfortable bed, big open kitchen and dining area and lovely living room for guests to relax. But that is not the best this Air B n B has to offer. Anne is amazing. Its up to you, if you want privacy Anne will step aside. We could not keep ourselves from wanting to spend time with Anne. Anne is a bright, cheerful person who helps you see the cup half full. Anne has a wealth of information to share(if you want) about the gems, rocks, and sea creatures on this planet. Anne is sought after to give lectures on her travels and knowledge of nature. But most of all, Anne is a gracious host, who will help you in any way you need while staying in her home. We are definitely going back just so we can get a dose of Anne.

Anne's place is a wonderful place to stay if you are planning to spend some time in the Bristol area. Her place is as advertised; comfy, clean and very peaceful. Anne is a great host. She makes you feel at home right away. She really cares about her guests and it shows ! We loved the area where the house is situated. Round pond is very quaint and unspoiled. Eating at the ''restaurant'' in the harbor was a big highlight for us.

My partner Jim and i had a wonderful vacation at Carole's cozy cottage. The cottage was exactly as described and depicted. It was immaculately clean and thoughtfully furnished. Beds were comfortable and there were and The location was an A+++ for piece ,tranquility and beauty. Water views from almost all windows. Carole and Mark were excellent hosts. They were available but in no way intrusive. Carole was concerned that all our needs were being met ...and they were. We thank you and hope to return!

My partner and I can't say enough positive things about Carole and her cottage. We spent a week there and were missing it even before we left. It's quiet, peaceful and almost all windows look out onto the water. The surrounding area is scenic and there are a lot of possibilities around the area. We took day trips to Portland and Acadia, for instance, and if you're able, I recommend checking out Mohegan and Vinalhaven islands. As for Carole, she's a wonderful human being and truly went well above and far beyond in helping us out. Although I don't want any competition in renting Carole's place in the future, it's a must stay.

This was an absolutely wonderful place to stay. One couldn't ask for a lovelier Maine setting right on the coast. The home was cozy and a wonderful mixture of Maine and artistic decor. We so enjoyed our conversations with Carole and Mark.

Carole was warm and welcoming every step of the way. She met us on arrival to show us around the cottage, answer questions and help us get oriented to the property, neighborhood and local area. The cottage is exactly as pictured and then some. It is lovely, homey and in a spectacular location. We enjoyed every minute of our vacation and loved living in this cottage for two or rather three, we had our dog Gia with us. The cottage has other houses near by but feels absolutely private. It was sparkling clean, well equipped with all you'd need to just settle in and relax. Carole lives near and is available if needed. Jim and I highly recommend Carole and her cottage for a wonderful Airbnb experience.

Even though we were late arriving to the cottage, Carole had the place unlocked and all warmed up for us! She even stopped in to make sure there wasn't anything else that we needed. The cottage, itself, was very clean and ever so cozy, and was located in a very peaceful and beautiful part of Maine.
