Apartment in Belváros-Lipótváros
Sightsee from the Window of a Classical Apartment
This gorgeous, 50 sqm luxury apartment is located right in the very heart of Budapest, on the city's most central square, Kossuth Lajos Square. Overlooking the iconic and world famous Parliament building, this wonderful retreat offers a fantastic and relaxing time in Budapest for short or mid-term stays. The apartment is situated on the 2nd floor of one of Budapest's most beautiful classical buildings built on the turn of the century by the National Mining Company (you can still see the hammers symbolizing mining on some the original cast iron works decorating the impressive main entrance doors). An incredible, winding set of stairs lead up to the apartment, but of course there is also a modern elevator. The apartment itself has been very recently and fully renovated, with new heat and sound insulating doors leading to the balcony, hardwood floors in the living room and the bedroom, marble and granite floors and tiles in the entry hall and the bathroom. New and custom made furnishing, arranged in a modern and tasteful way. The kitchen is fully equipped with quality appliances, nespresso coffe machine, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, etc. We provide the basic amenities, tea, coffee, milk creamer, mineral water, etc. The bathroom has a large, comfortable bathtub. Blowdryer, and basic bathroom toiletries are provided. The living room features a cozy sofa bed, facing a large LCD television with installed Apple TV, DVD player, surround system and fast wireless internet connection. Large bookshelf filled with DVDs, all kinds of books You can also find an alarm clock and a BOSE iPhone dock sound system in the apartment. The bedroom has a premuim, queen sized bed and mattress with extra pillows and duvets. Large wardobe to easily and comfortably unpack from those suitcases. Top-quality sheets and different size towels are also provided. A separate utility room accomodates the washer and a tumbler dryer. The apartment can comfortably accommodate 4 people, there’s a double bed in the bedroom and a comfortable sofa bed in the living room, the bedroom can be fully separated. Shutters can fully black out both the living room and the bedroom. The apartment also features an alarm, security doors and a brand new air-conditioning system. I like to greet guests personally, show them around the apartment and perhaps give you a few tips about supermarkets, restaurants, wine bars, etc. I live about 10 minutes away from the flat so if you run into any trouble or need any kind of help, I'm always available on my mobile phone. I use whatsapp, viber, telegram, iMessage to make communication easier. Located in the city's banking district, the neighborhood is an ideal mix of alive by day and quiet at night. Take a short walk to find a different side of the area, where cafes, restaurants and bars abound, and it's easy to have a good night out. Very close to all kinds of public transportation (tram lines 2 and 4-6, metro lines 2 and 3, several bus lines), but everything you'd need is in walking distance.

Your guide to Budapest

All About Budapest

One of the largest cities in Europe, Hungary’s capital sprawls over more than 7,500 square kilometres in the centre of the continent, with human settlement dating from the Stone Age. Budapest’s architecture blends Roman, neo-Gothic, Renaissance, and Ottoman influences in an impressive display straddling the River Danube, with Buda’s hilly old town to the west, Pest’s lively newer town to the east, and the narrow streets and Roman ruins of Óbuda to the northwest.

Visitors are drawn to Budapest’s famous hot springs, flea markets, and buzzing nightlife, from its network of ruin bars — quirky semiderelict hangouts, where Hungary’s sweet tokaj wine is particularly well regarded — to fine-dining restaurants. Grand coffee houses with glossy mahogany panelling and chandeliers line the leafy boulevards, and art galleries are complemented by a constellation of murals in the Jewish District, including an homage to a popular cube-shaped puzzle invented in Hungary.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Budapest

Spring is pleasant in Budapest, with two of the city’s best food, beer, and wine events — Rosalia Festival, celebrating rose and sparkling wine, and OTP Bank Gourmet Festival, showcasing Hungarian cuisine — in May. The best time to book a vacation rental in Budapest is between April and September, when temperatures in Hungary tend to be warm and the skies are clear. Autumn brings cooler temperatures, but this is a great time to visit for events like the Jewish Cultural Festival and the Budapest Wine Festival, which both take place in September. Winters are chilly and the city is quiet. This is when visitors come to soak up the festive glow during the city’s Christmas markets.

Top things to do in Budapest

Margaret Island

Nestled in the middle of the Danube, Margaret Island is a former royal hunting reserve that’s been transformed into a public park. You can walk around the 90-hectare site or take a ride on scooters, bikes, or golf carts. Relax in the tranquil Japanese garden or on the beach, soak in the Turkish thermal baths, and explore the ruins of a historic Franciscan monastery.

Rudas Bath

Constructed in the 16th century during the time of Ottoman occupation, Rudas Bath still has its original 10-metre Turkish bath, which sits under a dome supported by eight pillars. A modern spa and Turkish-Hungarian restaurant were added in 2014, and there’s also a pool on the rooftop terrace with panoramic views of Budapest.

The Great Synagogue

One of the world’s largest synagogues, the Great Synagogue was built in 1859 with Romantic and Moorish architectural elements. Its Holocaust Tree of Life Memorial, sculpted to resemble a weeping willow, is a sobering reminder of the tragedy in Hungary. The site also contains the Hungarian Jewish Museum and Archives, home to centuries’ worth of artifacts from Jewish life in Europe, including books, manuscripts, ritualistic silver, and a 3rd-century engraved headstone from Roman Pannonia.
