Our B&B&bar is close to everything and away from it all...fabulous beaches and coves, amazing scenery. Optional extras include full Irish breakfast as well as a packed lunch and traditional dinner. You’ll love my place because there is so much to explore by day. By night there is fun and chat in the bar (a special soundproofing floor keeps the bedrooms quiet) Outdoor events too...astronomical and archaeological! My place is good for couples, solo adventurers and groups.
Over 100 years old, the house was designed to look like a mansion in the Southern States of America. It has an old world feel and is warm and very comfortable. This listing is for a room with 1 single bed with shared bathroom in historical house.
remote and friendly area in the most beautiful part of Kerry
  • Utterly amazing place on the Ring of Kerry, beautiful old house, a lot of local character. Fun bar and cafe attached. Delicious breakfast. I will definitely stay here again the next time I am in the area!!

  • What a gem, Sheila is the most lovely host, I was introduced to the entire bar individually upon arrival and was made to feel comfortable throughout my stay. The breakfast is wonderful and the history of the hotel and surrounding area are incredible, great place, great price, great area, highly recommend.

  • I enjoyed the Staigue Fort House very much. Almost like going back in time to another era. The friendliest people, and Sheila was a great host. Will go back again, someday.

  • Mairead’s house is stunning. Great location, there is a little path which gives you a shortcut to the main road to get to the blind piper pub. Mairead is a lovely host and great to deal with, lots of lovely thoughtful gestures left around the house. Just be aware there is an added charge for electricity and gas.

  • Loved the place, perfect for a few days on the edge of the world. Plenty to see and do in the area (with car) forts, surf, pubs, walks, beaches and gardens. Mairead was a great host, welcomed us warmly, gave us lots of info on what was around and about.

    Steve2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend and the house was incredible. The wine and chocolates were a lovely touch and the house was well stocked with everything we needed. Only problem was our trip was too short. We'll definitely be back next year for longer.

  • Beautiful home right on the ring of Kerry, Mairead was an excellent host gave us some great tips on what to do, see and eat in the area. Perfect for a relaxing retreat

  • Mairead is a lovely host and the property is in a beautiful location. Hope to return again.

  • This is a great place to use as a base for exploring Kerry! The location is amazing (as long as you have a vehicle), Mairead is a delightful host, and the house itself is relaxing, has great amenities, and is clean and comfy. A few pointers: bring a swimsuit and enjoy the hot tub, try to stay more than just a few nights to take full advantage of the area, and take time to relax! The outside patio is amazing with a firepit, hot tub, hammock, and a great mountain view. Mairead is communicative and had great suggestions. Book this place if you're looking to explore Kerry.

    Matt2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Apartment on the ground floor of the house, Mairead lives above. The house is very quiet with a magnificent view. We did not take advantage of the SPA, the weather was not suitable, but it was at our disposal, as well as the sona. Plan for your stay products for LL and LV, they are not provided. The house and amenities are not new, but you will find everything you need.

  • We had a lovely stay with Jane. It's location on the ring of Kerry is ideal for exploring this beautiful part of Ireland. Jane offered us a warm welcome and the accommodation is tip top in all respects. Highly recommended!

  • Jane’s farmstay B&B is a special and welcoming place. As a host, Jane makes sure that you have a pleasant and enjoyable time there. The room was cozy, comfortable bed, ample space and very relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was simple and delicious! Thank you for making our stay a great one, Jane— we hope to be back one day!

  • This accommodation is a wonderful place to stay. Nestled in the countryside along the Kerry way. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone wanting a quiet break.

    Ciara2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • I can honestly say, it's a real pity that I only stayed one night at Jane's beautiful farmhouse. It was just perfect! Her room is lovingly furnished, cozy and very clean. Jane is a great hostess. On my arrival she greeted me with coffee and a homemade scone. In the morning, she spoiled me with a delicious breakfast — canola with fresh fruits, juice, tea and freshly baked croissants from her own bakery. I will definitely try to stay there again the next time I'm in the area. I highly recommend Jane's place for anyone who is traveling the Ring of Kerry. Plus: She also has lots of recommendations for the area and loves to share them.

  • Great spot and friendly accommodation in the most beautiful corner of the world

    Peter2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Jane's place, situated off the Ring of Kerry with beautiful views out to sea. Jane has stamped her character on every aspect of the place, from the colourful interiors of the room to the courtyard and quirky shop/breakfast room. Jane served up a delicious breakfast which included her home made croissants, fresh coffee and tea. She was also very helpful in her suggestions of lical walks and places to eat. The Blund Piper in Carherdaniel served good food and nice friendly athmosphere. We can thoroughly recommend Jane's place.

The Caherdaniel area, and wider South Kerry region, truly is an outdoor enthusiasts’ paradise. The shores of Reen offers fishing enthusiasts the perfect spot for casting and catching. In the immediate locality, there is an abundance of walking and hiking routes to enjoy, including the famous Kerry Way and several trails throughout Derrynane National Park, where one could also take in a swim at the pristine Blue Flag beach, which featured prominently in Tripadvisor’s ‘Top 10 beaches in Ireland’ for 2018. Further activities to be found nearby include horse riding at Eagle Rock Equestrian Centre, a wide range of water-based excursions at Derrynane Sea Sports and fishing and boat trips to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Skellig Michael, whichfeatured in the recent Star Wars movie series.
  • The place was even better than the pictures - such a clever use of space and the personal touches throughout. Wendy was readily contactable at all times and check in/ out was very smooth. The location was perfect for us, a lovely quiet area with a beach 2 mins walk away. We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

  • A very cosy cottage in the winter time with the stove burning, perfect for our weekend away. We loved the way the cottage has been authentically decorated & furnished with fishing references throughout. The kitchen was well equipped for the few meals we prepared. Thank you Cian!

  • Cain and Wendy’s place is wonderful! It is so charming and very clean. The helpful recommendations for things to do and see in the area were great as well. Wendy was very easy to communicate with and responded very quickly. We had such a wonderful time exploring the area!

  • Excellent stay at Cian's place - highly recommended for those exploring Ring of Kerry and Dingle Peninsula. Attention to detail!

  • We just adore this cottage and loved our time there. It has everything you could need is a small space that feels spacious and is decorated so beautifully you just want to spend all your time there. The bed was comfortable, the shower much larger than I expected with great hot water. The hot water in the sinks was a little tricky but not inconvenient. It was a short walk to a small cove beach and just lovely at sunset. I went horseback riding on the beach at a stable recommended by Wendy which was 10 minutes down the street. When we had questions we got quick responses and they were so kind to allow us a late check out. We hope we can come back some day!

The property was recently renovated to make holiday- makers as comfortable as possible without loosing the essential character of the house. The large airy kitchen, with fitted and free-standing units retains its farmhouse feel but is well stocked with all the essentials. The cosy sitting room has an open fire, smart TV and plenty of books. All 3 bedrooms have firm and comfy mattresses, eco-duvets and Irish wool blankets. Electric shower upstairs and pumped shower in the downstairs bathroom.
Coomnahorna is a quiet valley running up from the N70 - Ring of Kerry road into the Dunkerron Mountains. We are 1.5mls from Caherdaniel village and the highest house in the valley. Beyond the house, a narrow road leads into the hills. A 300 yd walk reveals the lower valley and Derrynane bay and as you continue on up, magnificent views of the Kenmare river and the Beara peninsula come into sight. A bog road at the top leads to Cahernageeha Mountain and looking north, Valentia Island and even the Blasket Islands can be seen. Coomnahorna is one the darkest areas in the Kerry Dark sky reserve and up beyond the house is an ideal spot for stargazing. The blue-flag beaches and National park at Derrynane are 3 miles away and access to the Kerry Way is 1.5 mls away, in Caherdaniel village. This is an ideal base for walking the less-trodden Dunkerron Mts - stretching from Hogs Head in the west to the magnificent peak of Mulliginattin near Bealaghbeama in the east.
  • Very comfortable three bed, modern and spacious farmhouse. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay and walks around the area. Have recommended it to family and friends already.

  • Lavinia's house is spacious, stylish and well located. She provided excellent directions and local tips, and when we arrived the fire was lit and a fresh homemade loaf of brown bread on the table. The beds are very comfortable and made up with lovely bedlinen. There are original local artworks in every room! A great place to spend a stormy weekend with my family.

    Barbara2020-02-17T00:00:00Z

  • Sean's place was a lovely spot. It was extremely quiet and so close to the Ring Of Kerry. Amazing view and just a wonderful spot to feel like you are away from the world. It had everything you need and the wood stove was great on a cool night.

  • The view from the home was breathtaking! It was a quiet and relaxing spot for our family to enjoy a few days in the Ring of Kerry. It was a great location to base out of for daily excursions. The home has lots of amenities and extra special touches that made our stay very comfortable. Having a loaf of bread, milk, and fresh fruit was wonderful when we arrived. Sean had lots of good pointers on where we should visit in the local area. The Blind Piper Pub was a quick drive from the house and had great local food. We would stay here again!

    Suzi2019-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in Catherdaniel, because we lived there, where many travelers take a photo stop. Where it is most beautiful! Sean was super helpful and gave us a lot of tips and excursion possibilities. We stayed there for a week and despite the quiet location, there was no boredom. Rarely had such a perfect host :)

    Dominik2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • A spacious and well appointed property in an excellent location for seeing the best of the Ring of Kerry. It has a lovely view of the beach through the large living room windows and the log burner provides that special ambience on chillier evenings. Sean is an excellent host who generously left us breakfast supplies and provided lots of tips for the local area for places to visit, the best walks and places to eat. I have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending this property to anyone that wants a comfortable base to explore Kerry.

    K2019-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sean's place is almost impossible to describe. A magical view of Derrynane Bay is available from almost every window. And at night, we were able to see the Milky Way. The kitchen is well stocked. The beds are so comfortable. But, the best part is Sean. He had wonderful recommendations for the area and even gave us great suggestions for the rest of our trip. I highly recommend staying here.

Seaview house is a newly refurbished (2019) detached stone fronted home in a quiet location on the Lamb’s Head Peninsula offering panoramic views of Derrynane Bay and the Skellig Islands – a UNESCO world heritage site. The picturesque village of Caherdaniel is 2½ miles away offering pubs, restaurants, shops, cafes and a local farmer’s market. The area is ideal for walking the ‘Kerry way’, horse riding, boat trips to the Skellig Islands, water sports, fishing and touring the Ring of Kerry.
The panoramic sea views from the house are breathtaking. We also have uninterrupted views over the Skelligs, Derrynane beach and house etc. There is a secluded stunning sandy cove within a few minutes walking distance of the house, as well as a small pier. The blue flag Derrynane beach is just a short driving distance. Nearby you’ll also find Derrynane House and National Historic Park, the ancient ring fort of Staigue fort, a championship golf course at Waterville and Sneem, the Kerry dark-sky reserve, craft shops and tea rooms.
The house is perfect for a relaxing break or as a base to visit the many attractions in the area including the "ring of Kerry", Waterville (where Charlie Chaplin came for all his holidays), Sneem (beautiful tidy town award winning village), Derrynane beach and house, where Daniel O'Connel was brought up and Prince Charles and his wife recently visited.
  • The house is beautifully located with awesome views... much better than what we hoped. Walking trails and beach is a short walk away. Ample space, well furnished, board games and accessories, and a wood burning stove.. we couldn't ask for more on our 4 days stay. Tracey and Patricia were great in guiding us with information and made sure we had a comfortable stay. We will definitely visit again...

  • The view from Caherdaniel house is stunning. If you're looking for a peaceful secluded getaway where you can get close to nature, this is the place to be. It's nestled in the rugged countryside with an ocean view and has all the amenities of a modern house (except for wifi!) The house is super comfortable and Tracey as well as Patricia (the caretaker) were super friendly and quick to respond to any questions we had. We had a wonderful stay. Definitely go horseback riding with Caroline when visiting. It's a rare treat! Just a head's up: Electricity fees are charges separately.

Thidwick Bnb, Caherdaniel is very easy to find right on the N70 (the main Ring of Kerry road) - up on the hill, precisely 3.9km from the village of Caherdaniel, 200m from one of the main viewing points and 800m from Scarriff Inn. Plenty of parking. Upon booking I'll send you clear directions.
  • Clare was fantastic. She had wonderful tips for things to do. The room was spotless and breakfast was fantastic. We stayed at Thidwick during the craziness of the COVID19 situation and we couldn’t have been in better hands. She was cautious but still warm and inviting. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to others looking in the area. Thanks, Clare!

  • Our stay at Clare’s was amazing! The views were great, the bed was warm and comfortable, breakfast was tasty, and the shower was very warm with strong water pressure. Would definitely recommend this place!

  • This is my second time staying with Clare and Dez. They are absolutely fabulous, so welcoming and helpful. Total pros! The accommodation was clean and very comfortable and the views were just stunning. To anyone unfamiliar driving on the Irish roads, I'd suggest you plan to arrive before dark to give yourself a bit of help in safely traveling the roads and successfully finding this amazing place. Highly recommend to all.

  • It was amazing, the house is beautiful, totally recommended to anyone going to Kerry. Clare had a lot of amenities ready for us when we got there. For somebody that has food allergies she can totally accommodate you. She got gluten free options for my girlfriend! Stay with Clare, it was amazing

  • Outstanding. One of the best place we stayed in Ireland. Fantastic views of the craggy rocks and coastline.

    Stephen2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • This accommodation exceeds all expectations. A hostess who takes care of everything and who cares about her guests. It is clean, the location is a dream and the sea view alone is worth the trip. The breakfast is great and nothing is missing. Clare knows her home country in every detail and has many tips that might otherwise escape you. We will definitely be back.

  • Best view in Ireland. Great breakfast and hospitality also.

    Blake2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Clare has a most beautiful home in a stunning area of Ireland. There is plenty to do in the area including a hiking trail right across the street that goes down to the ocean. Clare was easy to communicate with and was a wonderful host. The breakfast is divine. Thank you for everything!

I really enjoyed staying in Dana’s house, it feels loved and lived in. Well equipped kitchen is always important for me, so that was great. It’s in a wonderful location and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a low key, quiet get away week.

  • Dana's house and garden is a place full of charm, where there is an artistic, human, ecological and poetic spirit. We were greeted with great warmth, Dana made good recommendations to visit this beautiful part of Ireland: the Ring of Kerry. What a pleasure in the morning to take your coffee in the beautiful garden and find the house bright and spacious at night and make a small outbreak in the fireplace. We keep a very good memory of our stay in this little magical place. Thank you Dana!

  • We have just left Bobs house for our second holiday and it was harder to leave this time than last time. Everything was perfect. The house is warm, the autumn sun in the conservatory is amazing. Everything was exactly as we expected, even better as Bob had added some extra touches since we last stayed in June. The hot tub is a perfect space to spend a cold evening, and watching the sun rise over the bay is so special. Everything works perfectly, from the WiFi to the constant hot water, to the well equipped kitchen. We can’t wait to return yet again.

    Emma & Michael2018-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Coad for a week and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, easy to access gorgeous beaches, walks in the mountains and outstanding views of the Kenmare estuary. We found the best butcher in the world in Sneem who sells lamb to die for ... Byrnes!! The weather was mixed but we never wrote off a day ... the hot tub was the present that kept on giving.

    Joanna2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • So sorry to be leaving! Must have one of the best views in kerry and right on the Kerry Way, walk out gate, turn left and soak in beautiful views as you walk for half an hour or so to reach Cathardanial, Blind Piper pub there does a lovely lunch.

    Sinead2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved this house. The view is just amazing, and it’s clear the house was built with love. The location is incredible, the Kerry Way to the back and the Ring of Kerry to the front. The house is so comfortable, and it feels just like home. We are re-booking for later in the year, and counting down the days until we can go back. It’s the location of a lifetime, and the area is just stunning! Sneem is the sweetest little town (go to Annie’s for the ice cream and the Village Kitchen for fish & chips!) and the area is full of unique drives and points of interest. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home, Bob!

  • We spent a week in this beautiful house. The view is amazing. The location is ideal. The jacuzzi is perfect.

    Linda2018-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for walkers, Kerry way on the doorstep with three or four routes and circuits from the house : Walk east to Sneem , walk west to Catherdaniel and around Derrynane Mass path , fabulous spring flowers ,nice hike over the Windy Gap to Waterville with circuit around the lake and a big hike across to Cahirciveen also possible. If you don't have two cars for the end of the hike there is a local bus Mon to Sat twice a day and locals are very helpful when I hitched back to the end of the road . Great hill walks also in the Dunkerrin Mountains close by . After the day's walk you have a hot tub at the end of the day . Looking froward to a return visit .

  • We had a lovely and very pleasant stay in Bob's house. It's very comfortable and warm, and super well located, the views are unbelievable, especially if you have good weather and full moon. Although Bob don't live nearby, he was always reachable and in contact, as well as Martina, who take care of the house. I heartly recommend it.

Escape the hustle & bustle of every day life with a quiet & relaxing stay at Fisherman's Lodge. Located along the scenic headland of Lambs Head this is the perfect base for your holiday. The beach is only a 10 min walk. There are lots of activities to choose from to horse riding on the beach to kayaking in the bay. You can do as little or as much as you like......
Fisherman's Lodge is a 2 bedroom Lodge that sleeps 4. It has an open plan Kitchen/Dining/Living Area. The Kitchen has a small utility room with a fridge/freezer & washing machine. A cosy night in by the wood burning stove is a must, especially after a hike on the mountains or a long day at the beach(URL HIDDEN) The bathroom has an electric shower, wash hand basin & toilet(URL HIDDEN)Outside there is a small deck area where you can relax in the evening sun on a summers day. It is a very quiet area. There is no view of the sea from the lodge but a short stroll will bring you to the best views of Derrynane Beach & The Kenmare Bay.
The village of Caherdaniel is located 4km from the lodge
  • We had a great stay at Fisherman’s lodge, it’s a stunning location with amazing walks and places to explore. We loved that it was comfortable, warm and dog friendly. Wendy was a great host and very friendly. Our only comment is that wifi/bins/fire wood is not included - you buy bin bags and recycle bags at local shop as well as firewood, and wifi can be paid per day or per week as signal in the lodge isn’t great.

    Loulabelle2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Fisherman's Cottage is a unique living space, tucked into the rocks of Lamb's Head. From the grass covered roof to the nautical lighting to the sweet round wood stove, the house is quirky and delightful. The drive out along Lamb's Head is stunning (at least for the passenger!) and it is a lovely area to explore on foot as well. When we arrived, the house was cozy warm as the owners had started a fire in the wood stove for us. There are ample heaters throughout the house as well to take the chill out. I particularly loved the selection of books on the area and the map on the wall. This place has been very carefully built and furnished, and it was a real treat to get to spend a few days here.

    Susan2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy is a great host and fisherman's lodge is a lovely and quiet place to stay. I stroungly recommend that house if you want to relax in beautiful Derrynane Bay.

  • One of the most special places we've stayed in - a cosy haven nestled in spectacular surroundings with incredible beaches and mountains in easy reach. All the locals we met were friendly and helpful and feels like a place we'll keep going back to if we can :-)

    Emily2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a fabulous weekend at the Fisherman’s Lodge. Wendy was a great host, and very easily contactable while also giving privacy. The lodge itself is well kitted out and spacious, with lots of cooking essentials and cutlery. It’s a short drive to some of the most amazing beaches we have ever been on, and the lodge is perfectly quiet at night, our 6 month old daughter slept so well. There is a lovely patio to sit out on, visited by a friendly dog and chickens. My husbands driving skills were certainly tested on the road up to the lodge but we felt this added to the charm! A lovely base to tour some of Kerry’s sights, we particularly enjoyed Derrynane beach, White Strand beach and Derrynane Gardens.

  • Such a beautiful house, in a great location! The place was spotlessly clean and warm when we arrived (which was great considering it was January in Ireland). We had everything we needed in the house, along with added extras like a coffee machine and slow cooker. There was a really comprehensive guide in the house for both the house and local amenities. We are already planning our next stay and would have no hesitation in recommending this property to all our friends and family

The house is full of character and a great place to tour the area of Caherdaniel and Derrynane beach. The Blind Piper pub is a must for a bite to eat and of course some Guinness. This part of Kerry is full of history and interesting places to visit and explore, whether touring by car or on a walking or cycling holiday. • We arrived here after a harrowing drive on a "shortcut" pass through the mountains inside the Ring of Kerry, and we were met with a turf fire already going to get the house warmed up. After buying some basic groceries, we went to sleep and woke up to the most exquisitely beautiful view! This house is situated on a hill overlooking the Skellig Bay and North Atlantic Ocean, and the raw beauty, even with the wind and rain, was a big part of the experience. The house was well equipped, with everything we needed (the only thing lacking was a dryer for the laundry, although most people rent in warmer weather and you could probably hang to dry outside. Mary did point out a drying rack which came in very handy to use by the fire). Be careful with the heat and electric, as Ted will remind you. The timer function was a bit tricky, and the house got very cold the first night after the fire died. Mary was very helpful with local recommendations for church, dining, and the like (Dooley's Pub is a must--the best dessert I had in Ireland!). All in all, the best Airbnb we've stayed in!

    Mary2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our time at Mary's house! She and Tate were very friendly and welcoming. We arrived on a cold, windy day and they had a fire waiting for us. They checked in throughout our stay to make sure we had enough turf for the fire and gave us great recommendations around the area which was extra helpful considering the time of year. The house was really clean and comfortable plus the view was incredible! The house is just a few minutes outside of Waterville and well worth the drive to and from town. We would love to stay here again! Highly recommend staying here!

  • So cute!! John is super friendly and very accommodating! Buddy(his dog) also makes you feel welcome. Perfect space for us as we made our way around Ireland, had everything we needed. John made us feel at home and gave great recommendations for dinner. Also, can’t beat the view from the front yard.

    Kayla2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • For who wants to enjoy the ring of Kerry is the ideal location, it's beautiful in front of John! it is a nice host attentive and very discreet (no problem he has his apartments above but it is very quiet) merici to him!

    Veronique2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house is in an amazing spot, just on the coast of the ring of Kerry. John was really helpful and available for all info we needed; in the house we found fresh fruits and all the household appliances you might need. Really raccomend it

    Bernard2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to visit the "Ring of Kerry" or Ireland's best beach, a.k.a. Derrynane Beach, the perfect stay for you is John's place! You cannot get closer to the beach and still enoy the quietness of Ireland. John's place is simple, but we (Me and my two children (4 and 7yrs.)) found everything we needed. He is a nice guy with a lovely little dog - the kids liked the dog very much. Also if you want to go for hiking or visit the famous Skellig Michael, it is the perfect stay for you. If there is any problem, John will help, cause he knows a lot people around and suggests even knows how to plan your visit to avoid tourist buses on the Ring of Kerry.

    Stephan2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in Caherdaniel. The proximity of John (who lives on the 1st floor) makes the stay very warm. The house is well sized for a family of 4. We advise it with enthusiasm!

  • Chelley couldn’t have made ya feel more welcome. The cottage is in amazing location, is very cosy, and was the perfect stay on our weekend away.

    Olivia2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • We booked Chelley’s guest house on a last-minute trip to Waterville and we are so happy we did!! Her guest house is a traditional Irish home from the early 20th century and uses a peat stove along with heaters to keep things warm. Chelley is super friendly and accommodating and had the fire going for us when we arrived. After a long day exploring the Ring we loved sitting by the stove, eating Chelley’s fresh baked bread, and putting our feet up. If you’re thinking of doing the Ring in one day, consider breaking it into two just to stay here. A special Irish experience! Hope to visit again someday!

  • Very helpful hosts, nice location.

    Brian2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Chelley's place is stunning! The pictures do not do it justice! The fire she had lit and waiting for us made for the perfect wind down to a long day. We learned a new tip, too: the specialized water bottles kept us toasty all night long. She had multiple breakfast snack options as well as a large selection of tea; the raspberry peach was amazing! Highly recommend Chelley and her place!

    Brianne2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing place to stay! Chelley was a great host, who couldn’t do enough to help make our stay as perfect as possible! Will definitely be coming back again!

  • Adorable little cottage tucked away in a small Irish town by the sea. So sad we couldn’t stay longer. Chelley was so sweet.

    Cheyenne2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Chelley welcomed us warmly and gave us great tips to explore the beautiful surroundings. The check in was flexible and easy. Easy communication. Beautiful and cozy cottage furnished with great attention to detail. Warm atmosphere by the already preheated fireplace. Highly recommended accommodation, gladly again!

  • The week in Bernie's house was just fantastic. You have everything you need. Fully equipped kitchen, 3 bedrooms in which a total of 7 people can stay. Each room with its own bathroom. The silence around Bernie's house is fantastic. Hardly seen a quieter place. You don't hear cars, no noise like Manning knows from the city. Only the sheep, the wind, the lapping of the little stream behind Bernie's house. And you can even see the sea on the horizon. And what is absolutely fantastic: the starry sky !!!!!! Because there is little or no artificial light sources around Bernie's house, the night sky is absolutely indescribable. This house is really a little gem. What you should know, however: the heating works with euro pieces. 30 minutes - 1 euro. Bernie can supply you with plenty of 1 euro pieces. Just ask for it before arrival. Sounds a lot at first, but it compensates for everything. At the end of the week we didn't have to pay for the chimney peat or the electricity. Which is actually standard. In the house there is also a microwave, washing machine, dryer, coffee machine, kettle. As I said. It was like coming home. Just perfect. The house is about 10 minutes by car outside of Waterville. There is everything you need for a vacation. 3-4 tasty pubs. A supermarket, cafes, a great beach for a walk. This house and the host can be recommended to 1,000%. We had a perfect week and will be back for sure .... Thanks a million for everything Bernie.

    Diana2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • A little gem in the hills of Waterville. A peaceful location with stunning scenery and mountain views. Fantastic friendly hosts Donal and Bernie make you feel right at home. A clean comfortable house with all amenities and easy reach of Waterville and local beeches. Would highly recommend if you are holidaying in Kerry. Will be back.

    Juno2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • As we followed Bernie to the house , a mile outside of beautiful Waterville town , we looked at each other in disbelief , as Bernie turned into the private avenue to the house ——just over a little brook and down a private lane. We couldn’t quite belief that this was in fact the house we would spend a week in together with our little boy !To say we were very pleasently surprised would be an understatement !! An absolutely spectacular setting - the house is nestled at the bottom of incheese mountain, with a waterfall practically in the back garden !!! A beautiful house in a beautiful setting !! Once we got inside , my instant reaction was .....”i’m Not leaving !!!” This house is immaculate !!!! Beautiful large rooms, all en suite !!! Your every need is catered for! We were so cozy at night- if we needed to put on the heating for an hour , we just pop a euro in the meter. We will absolutely be booking time here again and are already making plans so that we can go there in 2019. oh! Not to mention the great time we had photographing the stars many nights - in the front garden , all thanks to the house being situation in the dark sky reserve !!! To sum it up - there is nothing more you could ask of this house ! Thank you so much to Bernie and Donal

There's a lake out the back where you can hear the water trickling down the mountain. Lovely welcome package - eggs, jam, etc. was left out for us on arrival and we had everything else we could need in the house. Really cool place. We would highly recommend!

  • What a delightful stay, a real home from home! The cottage was 10 minutes from Waterville, although it felt very secluded! Jane was there to greet us with homemade goodies and essentials in the fridge. The cottage itself was a lovely cosy place to relax. We lit the turf fire both nights and enjoyed our time away from the city. The cottage was great for touring arounds the Ring of Kerry and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a cosy cottage with that home away from home feeling!

  • This place is called the Kerry way retreat and it truly is a piece of heaven. Myfanwx has thought of absolutely everything. When we first arrived the apartment was so warm and inviting with a lovely fire blazing in the stove and there was a lovely plate of welcoming homemade cookies. The sparkling clean apartment has absolutely everything you would need including every type of cooking utensil, a TV, WiFi and a radio and so much space. There is even a little DVD library. We spent most of our time in the kitchen/living room. It also has Fantastic scenery which can be enjoyed from the comfort of two large winged back chairs. This place is cleverly situated so that it looks secluded but there are several houses all within walking distance. Myfanwy was a such a lovely host and was so forthcoming with knowledge of the local area. We absolutely loved our stay here and are looking forward to spending more time here. We would highly recommend this place!

This old fisherman's cottage truly is a hidden gem. Set less than 100 metres from the Atlantic Ocean in the quiet, secluded townland of Reen, it comfortably sleeps up to 7 guests. The cottage boasts a charming, south facing front garden with views out onto the water and a mere two minute walk from the front door grants you access to the picturesque Reen Beach.
Indoors you’ll find plenty of character with a tastefully decorated nautical themed interior in keeping with the cottages history and surroundings. I have chosen to restore and reuse lots of the original timber floorboards and pallets to make unique furniture pieces that add to the character of the cottage. It has been well equipped with your comfort in mind. On arrival you will find all the basic foodstuffs and toiletries. There will also be Wifi available for all guests. The surrounding garden offers an idyllic little sanctuary where one can unwind with a book and a glass of wine after an action-packed day of activities.
The Caherdaniel area, and wider South Kerry region, truly is an outdoor enthusiasts’ paradise. The shores of Reen offers fishing enthusiasts the perfect spot for casting and catching. Sea bass and various flatfish, to name a few, are plentiful in the area.
  • Absolutely dreamy! I cannot imagine staying anywhere else. We could see the beautiful Atlantic waters, mountains, etc. The wood-burning stove was cozy and the entire place was one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed in. Staying at this cottage was one of the best holiday decisions we have ever made.

  • Cian’s place is situated in an idyllic coastal region. It is less than a 5 minute walk from a private beach and is an incredibly peaceful and relaxing environment. The house contained all amenities (and more) and was a perfect place to stay. Thank you Wendy and Cian, we hope to be back again in the future!

  • We stayed here because we had a reservation to go to Skellig Michael the next morning. Very remote and not much in the way of restaurants or grocery stores.

  • The cottage is 5 minutes away from an amazing beach with mountain views. The perfect place to kick back and enjoy the Ring of Kerry

  • The is place is so much more than expected from all points of view: location, house, hospitality. We arrived late in the day and in the middle of a storm so we firstly appreciated the cottage as a safe haven. As it is. Then, bit by bit we started enjoying all little touches that Wendy scatters around the place and it was so good you wouldn’t want to leave. Just very very good.

  • A stylishly furnished cottage by the sea. In the common room was an oven, where you could make yourself comfortable in the evening. Otherwise, the location is a dream. Right on the Ring of Kerry, yet out of the way so you could really relax. From the living room and a bedroom you had direct sea view. Until the next big supermarket is about 20 minutes by car. Absolutely recommendable.

  • We booked the house on short notice, and although Ali was on vacation everything worked like a charm. Communication was very quick and adequate. Ali ensured, that everything is going smooth and we could enjoy our stay. The house is great, very well located with a beautiful view, very quiet, 10min to the next beach by foot or 15min to the next local pub (the only one) - which is worth a visit btw. There are 3 bedrooms (I think, we didn't use all), 2 living rooms, a kitchen, 2 bathrooms. So it's quite large and suitable for families. Ali provides also bicycles and kayaks for free. We would be happy to spend time there again! Thank you, Ali.

  • Staying at Ali's place in Caherdaniel was one of the best experiences we've had in one of the most beautiful spots to visit in Ireland. We were 6 adults and 2 children under 2 and the house was just perfect with plenty of space and amazing views and had everything we needed for a truly amazing few days. I was lucky enough to catch a sunrise one morning and it was spectacular looking out over the sea. The house itself is spotless, well designed, with plenty of room and has some lovely personal touches which make it feel very homely and relaxing. There's a lovely little beach about a 10-minute walk away and we had use of additional bikes which meant we could all cycle to Caherdaniel about 15 minutes away. I can't recommend Ali's house enough. Communication was excellent and very clear and finding the house arriving late in the dark wasn't an issue. If I could give 6 stars I would. We hope we can come back again same time next year and do it again!

  • Ali‘s house is literally placed on the edge of Europe, it‘s a remote getaway in a stunning surrounding. We spent most of the time just looking on Kenmare Bay or walking on Derrynane Beach, which is just beautiful (don‘t miss the graveyard on Abbey Island!). The house itself is cosy and nice, we did‘t miss anything. Ali’s caretaker was away on vacation, so Ali took care - every question we had she answered patiently and very kindly by text from her home in Britain, and she asked more than once herself if everything was okay. Actually it was much more than okay. We had a great time in Caherdaniel!

  • The house was as advertised. The view is fantastic. Ali's communication was spot on. We had a really wonderful time and are definitely considering coming back again.

  • We had an absolutely brilliant stay here, the views are spectacular, this is a very comfortable home to stay in. Ali was a brilliant host, very helpful, provided lots of info on things to do locally. I would highly recommend staying here, it's certainly been one of my favourite holidays!

Bracken is a modern stone faced cottage with spectacular views of Kenmare Bay and the Caha mountains, which can be enjoyed from the large living area or the spacious enclosed deck/patio.
  • Great holiday house. We were 8 people, including 4 children and all needs and wishes were met.

  • 'Bracken' is a beautiful house in a stunning location, whose setting is second to none. It is nestled in a mountain overlooking the sea with only a few neighboring houses and the peace and tranquility of the place is heavenly. The house is very clean, has all mod cons and nice touches like board games to unwind. Our hosts were so welcoming, friendly and offered great advice about the area. Most definitely worth the experience.
