Pizza Place
“ While I do not usually like pizza, I did try the pizza here twice, and it is very good! This place is the last to close in the village of Baddeck, and it closes at 11 pm. The pizzas are all made fresh in front of customers. There are a wide range of sizes and toppings, as well, and thick or thin crust. The atmosphere inside is very fun and lively and great for groups and families. Parking is usually available on the street in the evenings or in a parking lot next door. Both outdoor and indoor seating are available.”

“ “It is a place where golf and landscape blend seamlessly to assure memorable shots—with clubs or camera.” -Rick Young SCOREGolf One of Cape Breton Island’s premier golf courses, Bell Bay overlooks the Bras d’Or Lakes in beautiful Baddeck. This Thomas McBroom masterpiece has incredible views from virtually every hole. The course was sculpted into the natural features of the land to make each hole very distinctive.”

Cafes

Café
“This is a lovely place where guests can enjoy curried chicken salad, traditional salads, sandwiches, soups, and baked goods. While I have not tried the curried chicken salad, I do enjoy the parfait with yogurt and rhubarb compote, which is tart and does not taste sweet. I also enjoy their soup specials. Locals and those stopping by alike really love this restaurant and wait in line for the baked goods and baked desserts. I have not tried the baked goods, but they are legendary among locals, who regularly buy enough to stock up in their freezer, which causes the baked goods to sell out very often. The restaurant is set in the woods just off the highway.”

Bakeries

Café
“"The Goat" (as it is affectionately called around these parts) is the place to stop for coffee, baked goods, sandwiches and soups. The food is delicious and the service is gracious! They are VERY busy in the summer, so call ahead for pick-up if you're in a hurry! The breakfast sandwich is really awesome (egg and your choice of meat or a tomato slice on a buttery, homemade biscuit), and you won't be sad if you take home a few muffins, cookies, or a loaf of porridge bread, either. ”
