Nature Preserve
“The beautiful Boulders Beach is one of Cape Town’s most visited beaches and the only place in the world where you get close to African Penguins. Here exists a protected colony of African penguins which can be viewed in their natural habitat via wooden walkways. There is also an excellent beach for swimming nearby.”

“This is an excellent restaurant located at the harbour; it is the most expensive in Kalk Bay, but worth it. Fabulous view of the sea, and good service. Wine is quite pricey so maybe take your own and pay corkage. Make a reservation and specify that you’d like a table closest to the sea.”

“Dixies pub and restaurant has been an institution with locals, families, tourists, fishermen, bikers and appreciators of wholesome and hearty meals for decades. With an endless view over the ocean, unpretentious yet delicious food and a jovial atmosphere constantly pouring out of the adjoining small pub, Dixies is a wonderful way to round off another perfect day spent in Glencairn. Hours 9h00 to 21h00.”

“There is a great Deli downstairs where you can buy pesticide free veggies, delicious ready made meals and general groceries. Plus they sell great gifts and local craft beers and wines. There are two restaurants here where the food is top quality plus all the meat is grass-fed or pasture reared.....The coffee and pizza take aways are also amazing!!”

“Fish and chips! Simple. Has people coming back for years from far away so they must be doing something right. Being at the harbor to get the freshest fish probably doesn't hurt.”

“This is one of our favorite restaurants for seafood. We don't even look at the menu when you go there: we order a bottle of rose, and the seafood platter that they have on offer on their specials boards (it does change as the catch changes) and we add the Gambas Pil Pil to that (a jammy, peri peri prawn thing which is unexplainable!) It is very popular with the tour groups so booking is important. They have a small play area for the kids outside and a lovely simple kids menu. ”

“It is our big favourite. Events almost every night. Don't miss the Tuesday evening market from 6pm with fresh food and local stalls. And the mythical Sunday Fish Braai with free Jazz Session starting at 5:30pm. Concerts are also programmed every Saturday evening, with great bands from the Cape Town scene and beyond. The Camel has been around for 60 years. They also have a shop signed "Mickey Mouse Trap". It's sure small but very well stocked and some items are really well priced. The Camel Rock managers are connoisseurs of ethical foods and the produce that they serve in the restaurant is mostly organic. Children are very very welcome.”

“Good for a pint and 5mins drive - they do pizza, fish and chips and a nice fish barbecue with live music on Sunday lunch. Worth it if you don't want to drive too far. you can also walk to this one from the villa in less than 20 - 30 minutes. ”
