  • Had such a wonderful stay at the old Mill. Margo was super helpful and friendly and the place was absolutely spotless. Loved the stove fireplace in the sitting room to curl up and watch a movie and relaxing in the little seating area to have a cup of tea in the morning. Will 100% be returning to this amazing spot. Thank you Margo it was the R&R we needed x

  • The house has great character. My husband and I and 5 kids enjoyed exploring the yard, the stream, the large house, games provided, wood-burning stoves, and the cat. :) Margo communicated wonderfully with us and was flexible when we ran an hour later than expected. Wonderful accommodations overall and we enjoyed our stay! Of note- no WiFi which was fine with us...the teenagers had to go outside to use data/service, LOL.

    Gina2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place to stay! We had an overnight stay only and everything was good. Keep in mind there are 2 showers with access from bedroom. This was not very convenient for the couple who stayed in a twin bedroom upstairs. But we managed it.

    Anna2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome, fantastic, unique home. Loved the location - away from the world, but everything within easy reach. Tons of areas to explore inside and around the house for our 1-and-an-almost teenagers. TJ, the resident (outside only) cat is a valued guardian of the grounds. Margo, the host, is a star - lovely person. We will be back, as often as we can!

  • Beautiful space. So peaceful and tranquil. The photos don’t do it justice. Margo is super helpful. Enjoy a stay at the old mill.

  • Jackie is a kind and thoughtful host! Her space is gorgeous and fully outfitted with everything you might need for your stay. She told us about great hiking locations and tours or her farm and to see the cows calving. She provided us with amenities and supplies above and beyond what we expected and we can't wait to stay in her beautiful cottage again next time we visit Ireland. Would recommend to a friend!

  • Samantha's place is absolutely beautiful and the area surrounding is out of a dream. Beautiful forest and the home is beautiful. We lit the fire and watched the sun go down. It was perfect.

    Ger2020-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sam’s place is as cosy as it looks. She had a fire blazing when I arrived... along with lots of kind touches like fresh cut flowers in vases... fresh eggs from the hand on her farm... and food in the fridge. Sam is a fantastic host who’s always in hand to meet any request. And she made me feel right as home. There is a beautiful walk 5 mins from the cottage in a public forest. That was heaven for me, as it was a working holiday. And it was lovely to be able to take frequent walks there... sometimes with Samantha’s dogs. Highly recommend a visit...

    Christopher2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Sam's place was absolutely gorgeous, we'd highly recommend it. Such a beautiful cottage in a beautiful area. It was very private but Sam was very available to help if we needed her.

    Caitlin2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is sheer perfection. Gave us exactly what we hoped for. Sam is a gracious and warm host, and the cottage is everything you could hope for if you are seeking a rustic experience, like we were. Wood stove, cozy loft where the beds are, beautiful views - we will definitely be back.

    Chelsea2020-03-05T00:00:00Z

This beautiful 18th century converted barn, located opposite the owner’s home, within easy and quick access to Waterford and Kilkenny . Has a country style open-plan layout. It provides the perfect base to explore the sunny south east many famous sights and walking trails. Following a day's trekking in the Greenway which is just 6 miles away you can sit and enjoy the stunning views which the barn provides. Set in a working stables. We have horses that are used for polo during our summer season. We do not offer riding to our guests. Local equestrian centres will provide this. We are located 25. minutes drive to nearest beach( bonmahon) 20 minutes from comeragh mountains. I/2 mile from curraghmore estate. We are surrounded by woodlands which provide several walking routes, noise levels are minimal, you may hear the sound of the tractor in the mornings as farm work must go on. Sleeps 6 people.
This is a 300 year old stone building, a converted cow holding ( barn)which is situated in the courtyard of the main house. This property is Split level property. Living accommodation is on first floor, which consists of TV area with comfy sofas, also on this floor is a shower/ toilet and two bedrooms. One which consists of a double bedroom and the other a single bedroom. Ground floor is the Kitchen dining area and the family bedroom ( sleeps 3) which has a double bed and a single bed. Also added recently a large spacious bathroom. This property once had a spiral stairs as some guests found it inconvenient I have replaced it with a very user friendly staircase, thanks to feedback and previous guests contribution by staying here this was possible. This property is as stated rustic but warm and comfy you have the wood burning stove for a cosy romantic night in. I provide logs for the stove. Also provided are safety gates for the stairs if you have toddlers a travel cot and high chair. I provide the basics for breakfast milk orange juice, butter , bread and jams. Tea and coffee. Also provided are fresh hen eggs that roam freely in the garden. I have also replaced the kitchen giving it a complete new make over. The old kitchen was passed its beauty and use and as I take all valid constuctive criticism by my guests who have mentioned its poor quality. I made this big improvement and replaced the kitchen and even putting down a new floor. I aim for the best quality and perfection, because of you my past and future guests all these improvements are possible and I thank you.

This property is in close proximity to the green way kilmeaden/ kilmacthomas. 15 minutes into both routes. Also provided is an out house to store your bikes. The local fast food outlet will deliver for a small fee the menu is provided in the kitchen of the cottage. The village of Portlaw has a small supermarket called centra which will cater for your grocery list
  • I stayed here with my boyfriend and another couple and spent an amazing weekend chilling, just the four of us, making delicious meals, drinking wine and playing board games. The landscape is amazing, and on our first night we witnessed a breathtaking vibrantly-red sunset. Barbara was a fantastic host, was always responding to messages immediately and was so thoughtful - leaving us milk, orange juice, butter, fresh bread - plus giving us an assortment of fresh herbs when we told her we were cooking a roast chicken for dinner! Can't wait to stay here again if i'm next in Waterford.

    Emily2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home surrounded by rolling hills and fresh air. Barbara was a wonderful host and thought through everything necessary for a great place to stay.

    Logan2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful old farmhouse in a stunning setting! We loved our stay here and Barbara was so lovely to us...

    Sally2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay and Barbara could not have been more helpful. The accommodation was perfect and lovely extra touches in the form of breakfast provided and a hot stove on arrival and fresh flowers. The photos don’t do justice to the place as much larger in reality. Barbara could not have been more helpful and very understanding of having a dog stay with us. We look forward to a return visit.

    Lynda2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was beautiful. I wish I had more time to spend in it. It was very spacious and the landscape was stunning. Barbara and her dogs were home to greet us when we arrived. We would absolutely stay again if we ever found ourselves in the area again.

    Alexandra2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara’s places was absolutely perfect for our traveling family! She has thought of all the “extras” to make it feel like home. Upon arrival, she provided farm fresh eggs, milk, juice, bread etc. Great was to start before making our way to the grocery. The kids enjoyed all the puzzles, games and books- I don’t think they turned on their electronics for the entire stay!

    Terra2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Set in a tranquil, peaceful setting Barbara’s place is warm and welcoming. Lot of rustic charm with peacocks, chickens and horses in the yard and surrounding fields. The lodgings are clean, comfy, well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches. I would have no hesitation in recommending Barbara’s place to others.

  • Wow! Just wow! We knew we were going to be staying in a renovated church, but we didn’t realize just how homey and comfortable it would be! They did a marvelous job preserving the historic church, and decorating it just perfectly. From the heated floors, to the well furnished kitchen, to the cozy fireplace by the comfortable master bedroom - our 20th wedding anniversary will be one we will never forget! Carmel and Liam had the fire roaring for us when we arrived, and took time to show us around, and make sure we had everything we needed, couldn’t have asked for anything else!

There are stunning walks and lots of places to visit in the area but with its wood burning stove and cosy atmosphere you won’t want to leave. We had an amazing stay, Carmel was wonderful and gave us the full history of the church. Fascinating. Don’t miss your chance to stay here. We will definitely be coming back!

  • We really enjoyed our stay in this unique space, with plenty of firewood to cozy up by the fire to bring in the new year. The laundry with a separate washer and dryer was a real bonus while trying to pack light in winter. The hosts met us upon arrival and it was really lovely to hear about their journey acquiring and being stewards to this beautiful place.

The freshly decorated townhouse is 30 metres from the Main Street of Carrick on Suir. It's 2-storey, 2-bedroom with central heating, a gas fire in the hearth and has a fully equipped kitchen including a washer/dryer, a dishwasher & a coffee maker! It's perfect for a couple, two couples traveling together or a couple and two young children. There is a sofa bed in the lounge that can comfortably accommodate two additional adults. There's no on-site car park but there's plenty of parking nearby.
This is a very comfortable space for a couple or two couples travelling together. Everything you need is here! We have also recently added a travel cot for young infants. You'll find it in the wardrobe in the front bedroom.
No matter who you are or where you've come from you'll be warmly welcomed by the people of Carrick. You'll be greeted by the locals with a hearty "Well", which is the Carrick way of saying "hello" or "g'day" The town dates back to the 14th century and is rich in history and tradition. It boasts the only Elizabethan Manor house in Ireland and there is a rich tale associated with this castle involving the famous "Virgin Queen" Elizabeth the First and a man named "Black Tom" Butler. Look under "Local Attractions" for more on Ormonde Castle and other local sights worth visiting.

  • Good location, the house is a good place to stay for two couples. Ella was helpfull and very reactive with message. Everything you need is in the house, very confortable bed, clean and warm. I would recommande her place without hesitation !

    Fanfan2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great two days here at Gary’s place. Ella’s greeting and introduction to the place helped us settle in for our two nights. The apartment was snug and so close to everything, especially Ormond castle just a short walk away. It’s a little Tudor gem of a house in front of a ruined castle - great value tour. Beware the steps like most in Ireland we’ve found are a bit steep if you have issues. Highly recommended.

This recently renovated property sits directly across from the Suir Blueway on the bank of the River Suir, and is only a short drive from the Waterford Greenway.
  • Lovely, Modern and spotlessly clean house. Perfect location on the edge of the town, close to shops and has a big green area and river walk literally on the other side of the road. House is like new. It has all the mod cons, rooms well laid out and comfortable, fantastic wi and tv channels for kids. Nice extra touches like tea, milk, biscuits etc.., Host very accomadating. Highly recommend.

  • We had a really wonderful week at Paul’s place. Paul was a wonderful host communication before our stay was excellent and Paul and his wife couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful when they met us for check in. They offered to come mid week and change bedding if required and to drive us to a lovely location close by so we could walk back by the river on the Suir blueway. They had lots of things in the house when we arrived to get us started milk, butter, juice, eggs, cereal, biscuits etc this was a really lovely touch. The house was very comfy and really cosy with everything in it that we could need. It’s location is perfect only a very short walk to the town and all the shops and with access to the Suir Blu-ray river walk only right across the road. It is also only a half hour from the beautiful Waterford beaches of Tramore and Bunmahon which we really enjoyed visits to. It is also very close to the Waterford Greenway. We would thoroughly recommend a stay in this beautiful home and will look forward to a visit back there ourselves.

  • Ade and Frank's cottege is a real trinket on a hill overlooking a beautiful green valley. The interior is very functional and pleasant. The kitchen is well equipped with induction hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge. Ade's reception was very accurate and friendly, available and attentive to our needs. We found so many good things at home for our breakfast and we were able to prepare our dinners by shopping in the supermarkets of the town that close late at 9 o'clock. The children while we relaxed drinking a beer and looking at the splendid panorama, they had fun to play with the nice Poppy lover of their cuddles. Nice living room.

  • We spent two weeks quarantined in Theresia and David's and it felt more like a sun holiday. They have a beautiful home and we enjoyed relaxing and wandering in the grounds with their lovely dogs. The flat was cozy and had everything we needed. Theresia and David are fantastic hosts, warm and generous and made us feel at home. Would definitely recommend.

  • Just blissful. I so loved this place, got alot of work done, gorgeous walks and 5 star hospitality. Especially reccomended for someone needing time out or a quiet tranquil place to get some work done. Highly highly reccomend it!

  • One of the best-kept secrets in Ireland! An absolute fairytale of a place - from the surrounding woods & nature, to Theresia & David's amazing hospitality, to the quiet seclusion and - perhaps best of all - walks with Terry. Perfect for any type of travel, but would highly suggest booking for longer than you might think. I miss it already.

    Aric2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Very peaceful and beautiful area. Theresia was very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. I would recommend having a car as the bus stop is a bit of a walk away. The house is unique and cute--they also have really friendly and cute dogs. I would recommend staying here.

    Jackie2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Theresia and Davids place is magical, and they are wonderful hosts. Super friendly and great to chat to, but also give you your own space and totally let you be. I was here to do a spot of writing and I couldn't have made a better choice. I expect I'll be back again sometime, somehow.

    Mark2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Delightful cottage in the country, helpful host and friendly dogs.

    Paul2019-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a tranquil place to stay. Very cosy. Was nice to be even without a radio. Actually made us sit and read and switch off from our busy city lives. Theresia and her partner welcomed us warmly. We had fun meeting the very friendly dogs too. Loved them taking us for a walk around the beauty woodland garden...If you want to switch off, relax in nature and still not be too far away from main roads for easy access to other places of interest, we would thoroughly recommend staying here. Would love to come back one day x

  • You arrive at Jim and Martina in a haven of peace and generosity. Thank you to them for giving us the opportunity, despite our late arrival, to do some laundry and put our laundry under their shed. You have at your disposal a private bathroom with shower and toilet, just in front of your large room upstairs, with a very comfortable bed with sufficient shade (velux and thick curtains). The house is quietly located, decorated with taste and creativity in the image of the artist's garden abundantly flowery that preserves calm and serenity. On awakening you will enjoy a hearty Irish breakfast, with the fresh eggs of the garden hens, prepared live with hosts who have humor and attention. Enjoy.

  • Fethard is a small town. If the visitor has a car - the town is quite as well as located between three other towns/cities and is a good base for sightseeing the area. If no car, as was with me, public transportation into, and around, the Fethard area is limited. Still, a pleasant stay...nice accommodations, and an exceptional host.

Are you looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful to stay? My house is definitely for you. My place is clean, spacious and modern. Outside seating is available in the back garden. Secure storage space available for bicycles.
Portlaw is a beautiful village situated in the Suir valley. Take a nice long stroll in the nearby forests, visit nearby Curraghmore Estate and House or if you're thirsty sip a beer or two in one of the four pubs in the village. Interested in history? Why not visit the Heritage Centre to learn about the village's history? Portlaw also has lots of quiet country roads which are ideal for cycling. There is also a new cafe/bistro which opened in Portlaw in August 2017.

  • I would describe this home as a really great B&B experience and excellent value for money- we had a lovely clean room and great breakfast served to us each days at very flexible times. We also had tea/coffee and chocolate left for us in our room. The owners were extremely accommodating, kind and helpful and even gave us a lift on our first night to the 'All together now' local festival despite terrible traffic!! I'd definitely recommend this home if you are looking to go anywhere in this area!

We were dropped back to the Greenway. Would recommend Margaret's place to anyone who wants to sample honest and very warm Irish hospitality.
