  • We had a delightful stay in this adorable tower from the 12th century! Andreas and Anna are lovely hosts! The views from the tower and the fun of staying in this little town were worth the drive off the beaten path. Of note, we came in winter and used a wood stove for warmth.

  • Such a wonderful little retreat. The view is amazing, the town is quiet and peaceful and the hosts are kind and helpful.

  • Absolutely stunning view. Wonderful hosts. Apartment has incredible amount of character and charm. Try to get out and star gaze by the old boarded up church if you can ...spectacular star filled sky....only a few mintues away on foot. Town is so charming as well as the neighbouring town of Montepulciano. The region is absolutely stunning in the Autumn.

  • We stopped by Montefullonico on our way from Rome to Florence, and it was the best choice we made. It is a beautiful medival town, and presumably the place was a watch tower back in the days. It commands a spectacular view over the hills and it was clean and cozy. A restaurant in this town, 13 Gabbi, was the best Italian food we had during the entire trip. I'd like to thank our kind host Andrea for making sure we were fully comfortable. We would love to come back.

  • This was one of the best experiences we have had in our travels. Very friendly hosts that offer all that you need. They are very helpful as well. We loved the area, the people and the facility. 5 stars!!

  • The tower is a special place. Starting with Andrea and Anna. Very nice and caring people. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. In the evenings I would sit in the rocking chair and read and didn’t want to ever get up to go to bed. The town is amazing. Each morning we would walk to the cafe and then walk a path out of the town and look at the valley. The location is very convenient to hundreds of wineries including those in Montepulciano. The townspeople are very friendly, the friendliest that we have met anywhere in Italy. Great experience!

  • Andrea and his wife are incredible hosts and the apartment is incredible. When we arrived Andrea had a cozy fire burning for us and dinner reservations ready. Gobbi 13 restaurant - just a 5 min walk - was so delicious, fun, and family friendly. We went two nights in a row. The tower and town are incredibly beautiful. We would absolutely stay here again!

    Samantha2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming and historical place! Andrea was a very thoughtful host and was always available to answer questions. If you're looking for something cozy and rustic, this is your place.

  • Great location with easy access, central location, and stellar views. Clean and comfortable space. And Giulio’s daughter’s nearby restaurant is excellent!

  • We had a wonderful stay in Guilio's cozy, immaculate, rustic apartment overlooking the beautiful Val D'Orchia. Beautifully decorated with antiques, it was like stepping back in time, yet the apartment has all the modern amenities. We loved the location in the beautiful, unspoilt town of Pienza with a grocery store, bakery, numerous cafes and restaurants, as well as several shops selling the wonderful cheeses for which the area is so famous. Communication with Giulio was excellent. He provided us with detailed information about Pienza including a map showing free parking zones. We were warmly welcomed and introduced to the flat. We stayed seven nights but wished we could have stayed longer.

    Deb & Mike2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Giulio's house is the best location for Pienz overlooking the valley sunrise and sunset. The house is clean and the basic living facilities are complete. The landlord sent me some useful information and maps in advance, and our communication was smooth. Thanks to the landlord!

  • The location is perfect with the window of the amazing scene. The house is spacious and clean. The decoration is simple but good for a short stay. Giulio always responds the message quickly and send us the instructions in advance. We loved the stay so much and highly recommended this flat.

  • We were so impressed with our stay in Montefollonico that it ended up being my husband’s favorite part of our trip to Italy! Everything was amazing and Leonardo went above and beyond expectations with his hospitality and recommendations for places to go and local restaurants. We also loved seeing his sweet dog every morning 😊 we can’t wait to return some day!

    Rebecca2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect room. Convenient location to nearby villages. Montelfollonico, a village of other times, immersed in silence and tranquility. Excellent for eliminating stress. I will highly recommend the accommodation. Leonardo's mother, who followed us in the check-in, very kind and full of advice to be given both for restaurants and cellars.

    Irene2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and well-kept place in a strategic position to reach Montalcino, Montepulciano and Rapolano Terme.

    Camilla2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, "cuddly" and clean place. Very close to Montepulciano, therefore preferable both as an area and as a price. Leonardo was a super host, very helpful and attentive.

    Giulia2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for a quiet place for two days of relaxation and Leonardo's annexe fully satisfied us. Small but equipped with everything, the room is totally independent; tastefully decorated, it has a very comfortable bed and also the necessary for a quick breakfast (tea kettle and coffee machine). The bathroom is spacious and has a huge shower! Beautiful and well-kept outdoor space, which we did not enjoy given the season. Immersed in the center in a still intact medieval village, the room is in a strategic position for visiting Val di Chiana and Val d'Orcia. Recommended if you are looking for silence, tranquility and intimacy. The host's reception was impeccable: kind and ready in the responses before arrival, flexible for check in despite our monstrous delay, available for small requests that we made during the stay. We will come back for sure.

the Artistica apartment is located at the 2nd floor of a typical building situated in the historical Pienza centre right on the ancient walls walkway - one of the most exclusive places in town. The apartment is usually chosen by artists and photographers for the breath taking wiew.
Tha apartment consists of a large living-room with fire-place, stove and electric range, one single room, one double room, bathroom. All the small windows frame the wide and suggestive view on the Orcia Valley.
Round the apartment there are many rustic restaurants where it is possible to enjoy the typical Tuscan foods.
  • A ridiculously amazing view over the hills. Hard to leave it. Great location.

    Caroline2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This space was absolutely amazing! The pictures did it justice and it turned out very much like we expected and we enjoyed it very much. There are basic kitchen utensils and amenities; there is on demand hot water; the beds were comfortable, and the views were unbeatable! Just as you would picture the Tuscan countryside to look. It's also very close to the town square and other charming features of Pienza. We were extremely happy we chose this city and this airbnb. We would have liked to stay longer it was very comfortable and charming. We would definitely stay here again. Travellers might want to be aware that parking is a short distance away (you will need to carry your bags) and there is a narrow entry and several steps up to the living quarters. There are also some low ceilings. This did not affect our experience but you should be aware. A wonderful stay!

  • A beautiful house in the heart of Pienza

    Nicola2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing location in a very special setting! Coming in November, it was very quiet - not much was open, but just enough was. Incredible food and amazing town!

  • Great rustic apartment in tuscany best food we had in italy only steps away from the apartment.

    George2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, centrally located apartment. It is filled with original features, very very authentic. The views from the window are absolutely stunning. One can see the whole valley. Enjoyed staying in the apartment.

    Olga2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is an incredible place. Very authentic and with killer views, yet has everything for comfort stay.

  • If you're looking to live your own Tuscan fairytale, this is the place to do it. From the cozy interior with the period decor to the UNBEATABLE views right out the windows, Guilio's large apartment is a gem. It was hard to tear ourselves away from the windows and actually get outside, but we were glad we did-- the night we stayed, there was a free community play being held in the main square, continuing the magic. The apartment itself was clean, very tastefully furnished in a rustic Tuscan style, and comfortable. We really appreciated the fans that were available as well as the AC. Check-in and check-out were both super easy. We wish we could have stayed longer than just one night, but will try to return!

I remind those who use public transport on Sundays there are no buses, only taxis.
  • Our stay in Pienza at Andrea’s place was really good! The self check-in was super easy and very useful for us, in fact we could have the change to check-in even though it was evening. The apartment is very nice and the atmosphere is relaxed and calm as expected! Andrea was very nice and he gave us many useful tips for Pienza and the area around, Thank you Andrea :)

  • Amazing location along with everything you need to make yourself at home in Pienza. Did not get to meet Andrea or the parents but we were given lots of information about where to eat and what to do. Communication was speedy, flat was clean and bed is comfy, what more could one need?

    Nikki2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Tiny space but good location adjacent to the historical center entrance. Great bar right there. Everything was clean, very well stocked with coffee, sugar, toilet paper, shampoo and soap. Extra blankets and small wall heater ac units in the one bedroom and another in the kitchen. Great space but pretty tiny.

    Francesca2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Super location just outside the main porta! Pienza is a wonderful small town and Andrea gave us many suggestions for restaurants and the name of a taxi company, since the busses do not seem to run on religious festival days. Beautiful vistas and lots of walking paths. Andrea’s responses were extremely quick!

    Elaine2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea’s place is very cozy, thoughtfully equipped ,sparkling clean and very conveniently located. We enjoyed our stay.

    Angela2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • A very lovely house with all the kitchen facilities, extra spare water and food, 2 bicycles, very close to the old town, and a supermarket about 5 minutes away. The small problem is that the door code lock should be asked before the check-in to see how to open, we can not open the good landlord Papa to help, everything else is great!!

    Chunhui2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea's place in Pienza was great! Right in the Old Town Square! The Apartment has a nice kitchen and beautifully appointed bath, plus a charming balcony. We were only there for two nights but enjoyed what little time we had! Andrea was very flexible and understanding considering our lack of communication (trouble with WiFi, wife had no phone service, I bought a sim card but AirBnB didn't recognize that number) all in all Andrea trusted us to our stay in his great surprisingly large apartment in the heart of Pienza! Absolutely recommend!!! Thanks again Andrea!!! Ciao!!

    Dan2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very convenient location 50 m from the main entrance to the tiny Pienza. Andrea instantly answered all our questions about the AirBnB messenger, which helped us navigate parking lots, restaurants and pizzerias. The apartment is clean and tidy. In the kitchen there was a set of products to eat on the road. I recommend the hostess Andrea and her apartment!

Typical multi floor apartment in the heart of Pienza and Val d'Orcia, finely furnished in a perfect country style, ideal for the stay of five can sleep up to seven people.
The multi floor apartment has three level. The ground floor consists of a large living room with fireplace and a well equipped kitchen. From the stairs you can rich the second floor that consists of a bedroom with double bed, a single bedroom and another double bedroom with a bunk bed. The last floor is the mansarda with a comfortable bed for two people and private bathroom. The apartment has three bathrooms in total.
Pienza is a superb example of Renaissance architecture: the rebuilding of Pienza according to humanist urban reorganization was an example for many other Italian and European cities. Piazza Pio II is the hub of Pienza as all of the town’s main monuments are located on this square. The cathedral tower over all the other buildings (the Pope wanted this as a sign of faith). The second most important building on the square is Palazzo Piccolomini, Rossellino’s masterpiece, inspired by Palazzo Rucellai in Florence. Palazzo Borgia is another jewel found on this square. Palazzo Ammannati, Palazzo Gonzaga and Palazzo del Cardinale Atrebatense add the finishing touches to a fascinating urban fabric. The town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site: in 1996, UNESCO decided to make the centre of Pienza into a World Heritage Site “considering that the site is of outstanding universal value as it represents the first application of the Renaissance Humanist concept of urban design, and as such occupies a seminal position in the development of the concept of the planned “ideal town” which was to play a significant role in subsequent urban development in Italy and beyond.”. In 2004, the entire Val d’Orcia was included on the list of UNESCO’s World Cultural Landscapes.
  • Great location, apartment with a very beautiful interior, warm, comfortable, has everything you need! On the top floor there is a balcony with a beautiful view! Lucia really helped us with the questions that arose, helped with the transfer to the airport! Thank you very much to her)

B&B Casalmustia is located in the heart of Tuscany in Castelmuzio, a small medieval village rich in history and tradition and surrounded by the natural and artistic beauty of the place. The B&B has seven guest rooms and a restaurant.
B&B Casalmustia has 7 rooms, elegantly furnished and equipped with private bathroom, air conditioning and heating. Guests have a double bed and a wardrobe for storing clothes.
Castelmuzio is a small conglomeration of dwellings situated “...on the back of a tufo-mud hill (443m), under which flows the Trove stream on the Auster side, tributary of the Asso river, on the crossroads of the roads that arrive from Trequanda and Petroio di Sicille”. In 1213, in documents from the Siena State Archives, the name of Castel Mozzo appears for the first time, to indicate a settlement that already had characteristics of a fortified castle, with a court and with all of the fittings necessary for a castle of this type. In the XIV, XV and later centuries the structure of Castel Mozzo is that of a typical fortified castle. Built in a tufo-mud hill it has a round plan and is surrounded by walls and bastions that make access difficult to the tower house in the piazza. The walls are built in tuffaceous stones, placed irregularly and in some even now there are openings for cannons. There are four roads, slightly sloping, two paved in stone and two in brick that all lead to the piazza, in which is dug a large cistern of rain water, with a travertine base and iron supports. The castle coat of arms consists of a fig branch with a seal that shows an effigy of the Virgin of the Assumption, who has always been the town’s Patron Saint. The name of Castel Mozzo (lit. ‘Docked castle’) comes from the fact that from faraway it appeared like a fort overlooked by a very low tower, that could have seemed ‘docked’. The appellative of “Castelmuzio” is thought by some to be connected with the ‘Muzia’ people of Roman origins. At the centre of the town is the Chiesa Plebana originally dedicated to St. Giusto and then, in the XVI century, to St. Mary of the Assumption. The beautiful bell tower is later (linked to the XVI century), has a square form and a vaguely Lombardian style. The bells were all cast in the last century, except that of the “Communion”, paid for through offerings and a particular donation given in 1814. The Tower House, first seat of the Magistrate Giusdicente and the Vicar of the republic of Siena then became, in the XVI century “House of the Community”. And finally the Spedale (Hospital) of St. John the Baptist that carries out more social aid than medical. It welcomes orphans and old people and abandoned people in general, giving them food and shelter.

  • The small mountain village of olives, which is only a few dozens of people, is the only bar and hotel in the village, facing the central square church and the bell tower. The atmosphere is very good, as if to experience the life of people here for hundreds of years. Only a few old people can be seen during the day, and it is still very lively in the bar at night. It is estimated that they are the only social places. Parking is convenient, don't enter the restricted area to find a seat. The restaurant's big steak is very good.

  • We loved our stay in this beautiful B&B! One of the best places we stayed during our tour around Tuscany! Our room was spotlessly clean, the whole place was so artistically quirky that it made it a joy to stay there! The location is so beautiful and peaceful and well situated for day trips to visit places like Montepulciano & Pienza. The breakfast is wonderful with a vast array of meats, cheeses, cereals, yoghurt, baked goods, etc. Not to mention great coffee! Giulia is an amazing chef who cooks from the heart and you can taste it in her delicious food. We ate there both nights of our stay because we couldn't think why we would want to eat anywhere else! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to either stay or just dine!

  • The place was nice . It’s on top of a mountain with breathtaking views . The city is very picturesque, very quiet and small. I enjoyed very much. It’s like a hotel with many rooms and has the only restaurant in town.

  • A fantastic setting, breathtaking! A nice room and very clean! A small bottle of wine was waiting for us as a gift. The pool is great and the space around too. Recommended restaurant addresses. Too bad we could not test the restaurant of the hotel because the lady has the home had forgotten to tell us it was closed on Monday .... but everything was perfect!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Abbadia Sicille. The grounds were stunning and well kept, and our room was cosy and sheltered from the heat. The pool was a minute walk away and the on-grounds restaurant was an excellent place to spend an evening. Very highly recommended!

  • The Abbadia is one of the most stunning retreats we have ever stayed in, with beautiful charm, lovely clean large rooms, stunning pool and outdoor spaces. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts and food from the lovely courtyard restaurant and loved our stay. Set in lovely countryside close to beautiful towns like Multipulchiano, this is a gorgeous place to stay for couples and families. Absolutely recommended! The communication and service of Alexander and Daniela was also five star. We would love to return and will never forget our stay! Eloise and James (Vancouver)

  • Incredible value for what’s on offer. What a treat to be in the centre of Tuscany’s rolling hills, with countless villages a short drive away. The apartment was lovely and cool in the mid summer heat, and the pool was a welcome treat. Delicious breakfast and lovely surprise bottle of wine waiting

Guests have a double bed and two single beds and a wardrobe for storing clothes.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Castelmuzio. The breakfast included has very delicious croissants and the location of the Air Bnb was perfect for a sunset overlooking the landscape. It was a small room for 4 adults, but it was good enough for what we needed during our one night stay.

    Diana2019-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a special spot this is! It makes your Tuscan dreams come true. The town is so small, it almost feels like you can become a local overnight. The dinner was excellent. We stayed in the top floor, so there was a climb-but it helped us work off the meal. The one drawback we found of the tiny town was we couldn’t find a homemade gelato place to support our two-a-day habit. But the ambience and the views more than made up for it. The room was tight for four adults, but we made it work. I would recommend this spot to any and everyone that is looking for charm in a tiny Tuscan town.

Cozy and comfortable apartment located in the heart of the small and characteristic medieval village of Castelmuzio. It develops on two levels and from the top floor you can enjoy a stunning view of the Val d'Orcia. The apartment is ideal for 4 people.
The apartment is accessible through a stairway. On the first floor there is a small tavern and upstairs (on the second floor) a large and comfortable living room with fireplace, two double bedrooms, a bathroom with shower and a fully equipped kitchen. The rustic-style ambience blends with the architectural features typical of the ancient houses that make up the historic center. Wood, wrought iron and stone are the dominant elements.
Castelmuzio is a tiny medieval town center that has preserved its appearance and architectural features that have contributed to making these small villages famous throughout the world. The village overlooks the Val d'Orcia (UNESCO heritage) dominating the endless valleys and hills known for its high quality wines, oils and cheeses.
  • There is only one bar for dinner nearby, and communication is difficult. The house is not air conditioned, and the air conditioning main control board is bad.

  • Our family of four stayed in Michela’s lovely flat for two nights in July, and we can highly recommend both the apartment and Michela as a warm and kind host. She welcomed us with a homemade pie which was so thoughtful and delicious! She also surpassed our expectations, providing many thoughtful touches including coffee, yogurt, milk, croissants, jam and cookies:) When we messaged her, asking if it was possible to provide a fan for the summer heat, she dropped one off for us right away. Castelmuzio is a charming small hilltop village, a short drive from many other villages, yet quiet and serene with the most stunning view of the Val D’Orcia that you could imagine! There is a lovely shared terrace overlooking this view from outdoor tables a few short steps from the apartment, but you will also enjoy it from the adorable shuttered windows! We couldn’t get enough of this view and loved the peacefulness and charm of our stay in Castelmuzio! Thank you Michela!

    Megan2018-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Because we had a wedding just outside of Montisi, we needed a place to stay, so we chose Michela's place. The street was easy to find as the town is small, although we had some trouble with the actual door as the door number was missing. But Michela welcomed us nearby and led us to the right place. She was very friendly and even brought us homemade pie! There were breakfast items and coffee/tea provided. Everything was clean and comfortable, and communication with Michela was very easy and quick. Please note there is a city tax you will have to pay in cash (1 euro per night per person), but it's not a lot and common everywhere else in Italy. Castelmuzio itself is a beautiful, well kept, tiny and quiet town which you can explore in just a few minutes. Although there isn't much going on, it has some very nice features. There is a bar/restaurant on the main square which serves very nice food. Just around the corner from Michela's place there is a little terrace that doesn't belong to anyone, but is set up especially for the people of the town and those who visit it to sit and enjoy the amazing panoramic view of the tuscan countryside. During our stay we had our coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening there. (for those interested in wildlife, we spotted a bee-eater flying around). There are two parkings, one near the supermarket coop and one on the other side of the town. There is a cash machine as well. All in all it was a very convenient place for us to stay, with Montisi only 10 minutes away by car, and I can also recommend it as a base to explore the rest of the beautiful tuscan countryside.

  • Castelmuzio is a beautiful, nice and small place. Michela's accommodation has the same atmosphere. Its layout and furnishings fit well into the Tuscan countryside. It's perfect to have a relaxed holiday, and to visit the most famous towns in the area (Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino).

It's a romantic and cozy studio apartment with beautiful four-poster bed, vaulted brick ceilings, and a spacious bathroom. From the kitchen door you can go out to a private garden. It has Wi-Fi, satellite TV, ceiling fan, and window screens. 300 sqft
Il Nido has been lovingly restored, maintaining its original features of the 1800s, full of Tuscan antiques and comfort, and making it an exceedingly quaint and charming accommodation. The apartment is fully equipped with so many things you would never expect to find on a vacation—you will really feel like you are at home. When you enter the town home from the street level there is a staircase, decorated with restored farm implements and a collection of antique keys that leads you down to your apartment which is located at the garden level in the back of the house, making it quite cool and comfortable. The view extends partially beyond the trees and gives a glimpse out to the countryside . The décor of Il Nido, is both rustic and romantic, but with beautiful vaulted brick ceilings throughout. The kitchen has French doors going out to a courtyard garden, a beautiful space with plants, flowers, and fresh herbs, with views through to the surrounding countryside, complete with barbecue grill and chaise lounges. The country kitchen has a dining table to enjoy the delicious tastes of Tuscany, and includes everything one needs to prepare delicious meals: stovetop, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, Italian and American coffeemaker. The bedroom, separated from the kitchen/dining area by a beautiful archway, has a romantic four-poster bed, antique wardrobe, and armchairs. The spacious bathroom has a bidet and roomy built-in shower. The total size of Il Nido is 300 square feet. The apartment has independent heating, free Wi-Fi connection, satellite TV with English stations, windows with window screens, and an electric ceiling fan on top of the bed. Il Nido is naturally cool and comfortable even without air conditioning.
Castelmuzio is off the beaten path, and yet close to everything! Italy’s major highway (A1) that runs from Rome to Florence is only 18 km away. It is located close to the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Val d'Orcia Artistic, Natural and Cultural Park, in the province of Siena, just a few minutes away from Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano, and the beautiful hot springs of Bagno Vignoni and Rapolano Terme. These coveted designations are protecting this area’s cultural and artistic heritage and its miracle of nature called the "crete senesi", a countryside characterized by undulating ploughed hills and densely forested woods. Castelmuzio is set in the same luscious landscape used so often for movie sets, photo calendars, book covers and postcards. The terrain is rich with gray-green olive groves, geometrical vineyards, and breathless punctuations of tall slender dark green cypress trees. Its beauty is savored best by meandering the secondary (white) roads that wend their way through the hills, stone farmhouses, and poppy fields. This tiny medieval village is centered in the land of prized D.O.P. olive oil, Brunello and Vino Nobile wine, white truffles, pecorino cheese, and wild boar. Castelmuzio is a mesmerizing medieval hamlet and precious treasure of the real Tuscany. It can provide you with opportunities for unforgettable day excursions and, in the evening, relaxation and immersion in the local culture. Today Castelmuzio is a medieval Tuscan gem, with 200 residents and everything you could want to make this little hamlet "your home away from home"! Although you will find very little English spoken in Castelmuzio, you WILL find enormous Italian charm, very little tourism, a great deal of kindness, and some gentle curiosity from the local people. A friendly coffee bar and restaurant with a traditional menu and tasty pizza is right in the middle of the village inside the 15th century tower. The restaurant’s open-air seating puts you right in the middle of village activity. In this warm and friendly place you can pretend you are living in a Tuscan village centuries ago. In the late afternoon the local residents will gather here after promenading along the main avenue of the village. Join them and practice your italiano! They will appreciate any effort you make to speak with them. Fresh vegetables, delicious pecorino cheese, meats, and wine can be purchased just a few steps away at the Coop grocery store. Living in Castelmuzio is so easy!

Spigo Spigo is a small independent cottage situated to the East of Zampugna. It has a living room with kitchenette and wood burning stove, a bedroom and bathroom.
Zampugna was built in 1756 and 5 years ago was lovingly restored and converted into 5 self-catering apartments plus an independent cottage. The original building and its characteristics have been preserved, (bricks arches, wooden beams, and terracotta floors. The furnishings reflect a traditional Tuscan style and each apartment has an open for fire for the colder winter evenings while the cottage has an antique ceramic wood burning stove.
Le Regge is a large estate located in southern Tuscany within the province of Siena. The estate produces red wine and organic olive oil, wheat and sunflower. About a third of the estate is composed by oak woods where naturally grow white truffles and wild mushrooms. Two estate's old farmhouses dating back 1700 called Gaeta and Zampugna have been restored into a villa and an agriturismo. The Tuscan landscape is a masterpiece of harmony, based on a miracle of intelligence and taste with no comparison around the world. Lines and proportions are essential without superfluous elements, a reflection of the purity of Tuscan genius, omnipresent in every artistic expression. When comparing today's landscapes with the backgrounds of XV or XVI century paintings, one wonders if the painters copied the peasants or the peasants copied the painters. Both refused baroque forms, avoided rhetoric and superfluous embellishments whilst keeping the same clear light and sharp design. All this makes the Tuscan style easily retrieved in a Benozzo painting, in a page of Machiavelli or in a Senese farmhouse. Villa Gaeta and Zampugna were build in this context centuries ago and remains today a perfect example of harmony between man's work and nature.

  • Rupert and Lara have built a very impressive home decorated with antiques from Ruperts lifelong travels throughout the world (including a toilet built from an Asian throne kept behind a secret bedroom door!). The property looks like it’s out of a magazine, complete with wandering peacocks, hammocks and a gazebo for lounging and yoga practice. We were fortunate to experience an outdoor private session with Rupert one magnificent morning, which was the perfect way to start our day. The room is spacious, well-lit with creative lighting and welcoming with a fireplace and cozy, foam mattress King-size bed. Breakfast was left outside our door every morning in a wicker basket filled with homemade peanut butter, jams, yogurt, granola, and daily pastries. Finding the property on the first day was surprisingly tricky. We had a mid-size sedan and would not have felt comfortable in something smaller on the gravel roads leading to the house. That said, our anxiety about the roads was quickly subdued thanks to Rupert’s guidance. When we got lost on the way to the house, rupert immediately came to rescue us, and later that evening drove ahead of us to town for our dinner reservation so that we could better familiarize ourselves in the dark. Generally speaking, Rupert was very responsive to all of our needs and went over and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, including building us a fire so that the room was nice and cozy when we returned home from dinner. His kind and gentle demeanor was incredibly calming and we were most impressed by his diverse knowledge and experience. We would absolutely stay again if we find ourselves back in the area. Thanks for such a special stay Rupert, Lara and Grace!

  • Rupert and his family were absolutely amazing. They are truly inspiring and it really shows in their home as well. Our room/bathroom couldn't have been friendlier and we loved all the little details that made everything so magical here. The vegetarian breakfasts were always delicious. If you need to get away from the noise and stress of everyday life, we can highly recommend staying here.

Ragazzi grazie per il vostro tempo e la condivisione, became perllalla zone andiamo da voi senza nessun dubbio. A forte abbraccio

  • Enchanting. There are no other terms to describe the home of Rupert and Lara. My partner and I have booked a few days before mid-August, without great demands given the period. We could not have imagined that on our arrival we would have been catapulted into a book of fairy tales, where it is hard to distinguish reality from fantasy and where time seems to crystallize. Immersed in the Val d'Orcia, it is the ideal place to restore inner balance, far from any kind of daily "disturbance". Rich and exquisite breakfast, impeccable cleanliness, excellent aesthetic taste. I can certainly say that it was the best experience out of town. We will be back, and we can't wait.

  • Perfect place to relax and get away from it all. Fantastic colors, clear air and ... a magnificent moon in the pagoda with my Love.

  • Wonderful and magical. One of the best value-for-money stays in my life.

    Solid2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We were guests of Rupert and Lara for only one magical night .. the road to reach the place is a dirt road of a couple of miles maybe a little uncomfortable. Once in place you are greeted by the quiet and beauty of the farmhouse surrounded by the greenery of the beautiful Val d'Orcia. The beautiful and well-kept room, furnished in a rustic and very pleasant style. The well-kept garden full of peacocks that circulate freely. Dreamy night lighting. Rich and delicious breakfast. Rupert and Lara are two very hospitable, kind and helpful hosts. Definitely recommended!

    Marika2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Rupert and Lara were amazing, we had some difficulties getting to the house as we were in and out of service and we didn’t believe the location was accurate on maps but once we got there we realized it was. Rupert came to where we were to show us the way as we arrived in the dark. The house has about 2+km through a dirt road so ensure your car can handle it. It is misleading as the house looks as if it’s in the middle of nowhere on maps. Lara had breakfast made for us when we woke, there is a lot of space to lounge around and relax, while we’re given our own privacy. Wish we got to see Rupert and talk to him more as he seems to be such a friendly soul. Worth the visit if you want to relax and unwind in the countryside of Tuscany!

  • Located in the middle of Val d'Orcha, the 360-degree view is great. Nice yard and clean accommodation. Affectionate Tommaso's family. Very good location for a small town nearby. The heating is very warm and hot water is available. Tommaso prepared a variety of jam, bottled water, milk, coffee machine, toast and pie for breakfast. I'll see you again.

Refined room, good bedding, spacious bathroom, terrace area in front of the living room, easy parking, swimming pool with views of the typical landscapes, deckchairs available. • Ricardo’s place was fantastic! The location is perfect for a Tuscany vacation. It’s very close to many towns and very easy access. Ricardo is a great host. His response time was very quick and his local knowledge is awesome. He had many great recommendations. The views are spectacular. While we did not cook during our stay there is everything you would need if you decided to cook. The pool area is nice. I would definitely consider renting from Ricardo again on future trips.

  • We loved our stay! Riccardo was amazing and very quick with response to any questions we had! This place was in between small towns, so a cute farm house feel in the beautiful Tuscan hillside. Very quick drive to any town. Beautiful pool area to lay out or even just watch the sunset. I would recommend if you don’t want the hustle and bustle of a noisy town!

    Andrea2019-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Riccardo’s place in beautiful Tuscany. The apartment was perfect, stunning views and the perfect layout. Very comfortable for three/four people. Amazing location, close to all of the charming Tuscan villages. Riccardo shared some of his fabulous wine with us, which we enjoyed drinking by the pool. And we were lucky to be able to bring a few bottles home with us. We enjoyed making a fire in the evenings in the fireplace, to take away the autumn chill. Very romantic. We would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you, Riccardo.

La Torretta is in a quiet and peaceful area, what makes it unique is the breathtaking view from the terrace giving an unforgettable charm.
La Torretta è in zona silenziosa e tranquilla ciò che la rende unica è la vista mozzafiato dal terrazzo donando un fascino indimenticabile.
  • El Torreto is quite unique. It looks smaller in the photos than what the space really is, which is cosy perfect for one person or two. Tucked away from the old town but very close, it is quiet and private with an amazing view across the Val d'Orcia to Monte Amiata. Marco is a great host, very attentive and responsive. All amenities (ATM, supermarket, etc) are an easy walk, and of course the beautiful Pienza is on your doorstop.

  • An amazing and romantic little stone cottage, right in the middle of the village. The panoramic views are amazing from the terrace, great for an afternoon wine. While the space is small, it is well equipped with everything you need to keep you comfortable. Marco the host was helpful and polite and easy to make comminications with. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and highly recommend.

  • The place is wonderful. Small, but with an unique sightseeing. You can literally stare at the road where they shot “the gladiator” during sunset sitting comfortably on a chair in the balcony! The center is just a few meters away and the host is absolutely nice and welcoming. Strongly suggested!

  • This best kept secret of Pianza is mounded upon a small little Tuscan cabin on the hillside of the village. With breathtaking views, we got spoilt with a gorgeous rain storm that painted the sky with eerie greys across the green patchwork of fields. The kitchen upstairs had this unique wooden structure that held all amenities one could need and walking down into the crypt of a bedroom was so cozy. The aged rock and wood within all felt so authentic and made for a natural stay in a location that does the rest. For only one night stay I’m craving to go back and would highly recommend this to anybody else. Marco was a great host with clear instructions and even for a small reasonable fee left us some breakfast amenities to eat on the balcony. Again I say, a magical view! 5 stars for me

Welcome at Montelifrè's castle Montelifrè is a medieval village still owned by the ancient and noble family Martinozzi. The hamlet is one of the oldest military buildings in Siena country side, Tuscany, one ofthe most beautiful italian regions. Montelifrè is 40 km far from Siena and Arezzo. Walking in the streets of the village means to have a deep look in the life of the past. Along "Via della Cappella", wich leads to the Montelifré church, there is the little green door to the Villa, the mansion with four double bedrooms:from each one you can have a complete look on the beautifull valley, and all the sunsets you are goingto live with us. You can spend pleasant hours walking in the country side near Montelifrè or even practice trekking. Montelifré is near to Montalcino and Montepulciano with the famous wines: Brunello and Nobile di Montepulciano. In Pienza you can get a very good cheese and it's a Renaissance famous Village.
  • This is truly a castle in a magical place. Sitting up on a hill, the views are panoramic and gorgeous in any season. I happened to be visiting in the fall and enjoyed the changes in color. Niccolò was an excellent host. When I arrived, he took up my offer to go to the market and dinner. He taught me about the area and the history of his home. This was a memorable part of my trip to Tuscany, And I hope to make it back soon.

To make it unique and different has been the wonderful medieval residence of Niccolò Bolognini-Martinozzi, exquisite, caring and multitasking person, alone and occasionally with friends, he has restructured and is still working on the castle inherited from his mother. He pampered me for my birthday with some wine and gave precious tips to enjoy the surroundings. • A truly unique experience! We enjoyed exploring the grounds, learning about the history of the castle, sharing a home cooked meal with our hosts and staying in one of the suites. We drove and the location was easy to find. There was parking and a flight of stairs, which wasn't an issue for us. There are many small towns to visit in the area as well. We enjoyed our stay!

  • I was a guest of Niccolò Bolognini Martinozzi, owner of a medieval house furnished in boho-chic style and I had a great time. The Borgo is silent, there is nobody, an incredible peace. Breathtaking panorama on awakening. Instead of going to the restaurant on my arrival, I preferred to taste the pici and peposo prepared by Niccolò, who told me all the sacrifices and work he did, alone and with the help of friends, to make it habitable again the part of the castle he inherited from his mother. It proudly displays the reclaimed furniture from the various family branches, the household items bought back by locals. Slowly everything will improve again. But not too eh, I understand what fun there is. Nice bike ride.

  • Couldn’t have asked for a better getaway in the Tuscan countryside. The house is truly off the beaten path and gives you an escape from civilization in the middle of Italy!

  • This is the best ever house I've booked in AirBNB. This place is the ideal one for those who want to enjoy several days of isolated life and Tuscany's sunshine! The house has almost everything you need and posseses astounding sunset view and star & galaxy view during the night! The supermarket and restaraunt are also not far away (with minutes of drving to the small towns nearby). To others the fact that the key holder can't speak English may be an issue, to me it's also interesting to "talk" with him by using Google translation. It was quite fun. All in all I'd definitely recommend this house to a group of tourists of 4-6 people to tuscany, and I wish I can come back sometime in the future.

Lovely apartment in the heart of the small medieval village of Montisi between the Crete Senesi and the Val d'Orcia, a UNESCO heritage. Ideal for two people can comfortably sleep up to four people thanks to the comfortable sofa bed.
The apartment, with independent access, consists of a living room with dining area and a comfortable sofa bed for two people, a kitchen, a double bedroom, a small laundry room and a large bathroom with tub. The use of warm colors, the bright, modern decor and the beautiful view from the apartment make the space a warm, comfortable and bright.
San Giovanni d'Asso, famous for white truffles, takes its origins from an ancient Longobard parish, built in the dawn of Christianity in Italy, on which was erected a castle. Its building work, between the XII and the XIV centuries, was on the project of Agostino and Agnolo di Ventura. At the beginning of the XII century the village was attested as a fief of Count Paltonieri of Forteguerra. In 1551 it was donated to the council of Siena, but subsequently a large number of noble families alternated at power. Still under Siennese sovereignty, the village passed to Ugolino Scolari, then to the Aldobrandeschi of Civitella. In the same way, another village in today’s council’s territory was developed, that of Montisi, firstly autonomous, then during the last years of the 14th century annexed to the property of the Ospedale della Scala, that organised it as a “grangia”, or fortified farm. Halfway through the XIII century the castle of San Giovanni was purchased by the Buonsignori, then passed to the Salimbeni and finally to the Petroni. In fact a rural reality was consolidated, dominated by the various noble citizens of Siena. Only towards the middle of the 15th century did Siena place San Giovanni under its direct administration. A century later, together with the whole of the Siennese territory, San Giovanni became a part of the Medici’s Grand Duchy of Tuscany, who were succeeded by the Lorenas in the XVIII century. The economic life of the territory, still on the margin of the main commercial roads, has always been based almost exclusively on agriculture, especially after the drainage of the Asso Plains in the 13th century by the Siennese. To the classic cultivations (cereals, vines and olives) the last few centuries have seen the additional cultivation of mulberries and, consequently, the breeding of silk worms. The lacking industrial development of the post-war years provoked depopulation, a fairly common phenomenon of the rural towns of Tuscany.

Comfortable and delicious, we have never missed anything and felt at home. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to spend a relaxing holiday or as a base for his travels, given the favorable position .. Admitted even my little dog who enjoyed his holiday

  • Small flat in excellent position; the house is about 20 minutes drive from the main towns of the Val d'Orcia. The girl who welcomed us was polite and punctual, as well as helpful in giving us information about events in and around Montisi

    Simone2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • I recommend everyone to the cottage of Elena, beautiful view of the hills, outdoor table in the "terrace" and perfect location to visit the area. Montisi then is a chicago !! :)

    Claudia2018-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Montisi is wonderful - amazing restaurants, charm that just doesn't end, and the quiet, small village experience that we wanted. Elena's place is plenty spacious for two. The terrace with the table is a bonus as is the washing machine. Parking was a little iffy as the lot was quite full and the alternative is a bit of a hike. We had a delightful 6 days here and were able to visit so many quaint hilltowns and wineries due to the great central location. Would definitely recommend Elena's place for value and for location!

    Cindy2018-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, lovely house, very centrally located if you want to view South Tuscany. Trasimeno is nearby. Village is nice and safe. Communication is good, Elena is attentive. Nothing to criticize. The only suggestions I can come up with are: more clothes hangers and possibly a nice chair for the garden. But even without it we felt very satisfied.

Termoautonomo, camino, BBQ, griglia a carbone, Giardino Privato.
  • Margherita! We feel at home in your property and, as this is the feeling that we want to convey to all our guests, everything was far beyond what we imagined. Her home exudes the affection that, we are sure, has been present since before her conception, and Maria's care was incredibly tender! I already invited her but I repeat to you: going to Brazil (south of Brazil, a place with landscapes and climate similar to yours!) It will be a great pleasure to receive you. Hugs, Spanholi Family

  • We had an unforgettable experience during our last Christmas vacation in Tuscany. The house of Margherita is an amazing place to make your holidays special, besides that, her and Maria are great hosts. The location is very convenient to visit nice places in the region and the hints of Margherita were very helpful.

  • I spent only one night but enough to appreciate the place ... both my children and I were thrilled

  • Very nice house with a very nice garden! We really enjoyed the time in Tuscany! Many thanks also to Maria☺️

  • The house is really very lovingly designed, we felt right at home. The equipment was very good and modern, a dishwasher was available, we also had the opportunity to use the washing machine. The garden is very spacious with a beautiful view of the valley, the pool clean and inviting. We were mostly alone in the house and thus the whole property for us. The country road, which leads past the house, is hardly more traveled from about 20 clock, it was absolutely quiet at night. Shops and the nearest train station are located in the approximately 6 km away Sinalunga. We would return anytime, Maria is a pearl that you can only close in the heart, Sergio cares about the garden. Margherita has created a real gem, the photos also correspond to the actual state. The farewell was really hard ...

  • A very tastefully decorated cottage with great attention to detail. The pool is much bigger than expected and everything is very clean thanks to Maria and the garden thanks to Sergio tiptop. The cottage is connected to a larger house and with these guests (about 8 people) you share the pool and garden. During our stay we experienced 2 families, both of whom were very nice and quiet. But since we are traveling with dog, we had to restrict ourselves a bit, because we thought the garden would be for exclusive use. All in all, the cute cottage is recommended and offers enough space for 4 people.

  • Perfect garden and a beautiful house! The tips from the host are great!

  • Beautiful house in a beautiful place. Sparkling clean and newly renovated, has everything you may need. Margherita, and Maria is very welcoming hosts, and make everything for guests to feel comfortable. As described, this small house is attached to the bigger one, which may be popular with big companies, so if you want 100% privacy, you may be disappointed. Thank you very much Margherita, everything was great!
