“CEDAR KEY IS A VERY KEWL location full of restaurants. Our favorite there is Steamers Clam Bar & Grill. But search for Cedar Key, Florida on Trip Advisor to see this historical village on the water. A MUST SEE that is a little over 1 hour away and worth the drive if you want to see Old Florida. Homosassa by the way is truly Old Florida as well. But Cedar Key is for those that want to walk thru shops and try different seafoods and spend the day at a kewl old town where people go there and never leave once they live there. Its amazing. And they harvest Clams locally there as well. Yum”

“Located on the marina side of dock street, Big Deck has nice cold beer and usually has live acoustic music most weekends and evenings. They have really great wings and the quesadilla is amazing also!”

“This is a don't miss dining experience, folks. If you're here Friday-Saturday nights, and food is something important to you, the Peter Stefani's dinner house is essential to your Cedar Key Getaway, relaxed fine-dining, French and Cajun-inspired creations, his own farmed clams, pastas, braised meats, and what Darrin declares: "The best Cesar Salad in the world!" Monday nights is a special locals dinner with a cash-only special menu. Sunday the place opens for an elegant brunch on the water. Glass walls and linen tables. Lovely. Excellent. ”

“The views here are incredible- In a sense it feels like you are on top of the world when you look out their floor to ceiling wrap around windows. This place is a rustic chic and newly renovated. Our favorite menu items are the fried green tomato BLT and the clam bowl.”

“Mike and Laura Duncan operated a seafood restaurant in Marco Island, FL, Marker 8.5, which was obliterated by Hurricane Irma in September 2017. At age 65, Mike could have retired. Instead, he bought a bigger restaurant with a bar in Cedar Key. We have been there several times for breakfast and lunch, and once for dinner when we had sushi. Open for breakfast (until 11), lunch and the food is high quality, and the view of Atseena Otie. As with all restaurants in CK, and I mean all of them, service is hit or miss for reasons often outside the control of the server and establishment. That's why your best bet is to pack a bit of patience (and maybe a power bar) and enjoy the view if you hit them on a day of, uh, confusion? Highly recommend Duncan's for a gourmet breakfast--excellent cheese grits, the crab cake benedict and biscuits and gravy. (Wednesdays this is the only breakfast game in town and your destination if you aren't doing breakfast en suite.) Dinner features well-sauced seafood, a raw bar, and some nights Chef Cheng prepares fresh sushi, including some creative rolls. (This is April 2019, and his tenure may or may not last, it's a kooky little island and this is one of the first sushi attempts.) Duncan's Grouper Tower is a people-pleaser with layers of spinach, peppers and mushroom; the Gulf Shrimp Creole is a great take on a classic with pico de gallo. Check out the fish you'll eat in the display case at the entrance. Live music downstairs on some weekends. Sam, the bartender, is personable and mixes some good drinks and knows a Mai Tai from a Hurricane.”

“Who can resist an AMAZING burger!?! Talk about options and unique and scrumptious choices! We've loved this restaurant for years. It's family owned and operated and it's not just about burgers! Everything on the menu is just simply awesome. And they have a nice selection of local and craft beers! Oh....and talk about a VIEW! It's right on the water so you can't help but feel the stress melt away as you enjoy your favorite food or beverage!”

“This is a casual old FL restaurant run by wonderful people. I highly recommend the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. It is outstanding. Live music on the weekends out on the deck overlooking the Gulf with a cocktail in hand can't be beat! Make sure to say hi to Erin and Mikey at the bar. ”
