Places to stay in Chapel Amble
Escape to the beautiful wilderness of the North Cornish coast, close to Port Isaac & Polzeath. Stay in a handcrafted shepherd's hut with curved ash beams & Salamander wood burner on a converted railway line. Relax in your own private hot tub with only the local cows for company. Or explore the nearby woods, go swimming, fishing & boating on the magical freshwater lake. A perfect break for couples or a solo traveller wanting to unwind. For updates check "Free Range Escapes" on social media
The shepherd's hut is based at Cornish Tipi Holidays/Weddings also known as Tregildrans Quarry and this is our beautiful second hut at this unique site. Both huts have their own individual character, the biggest difference is that Bluebell hut has its own wood fired couples hot tub - perfect for relaxing in style in the great outdoors. The site has a woodland valley folded around a clear, spring-fed lake created from the old quarry. The hut is at the top of a secret 20 acres clothed in ferns and bluebells, oak and meadowsweet. Undisturbed by modern agrochemicals and herbicides the natural ecosystem has flourished, providing a thriving habitat for flowers and butterflies, birds and mammals. It’s a place a world apart from the rush and clutter of the modern holiday experience, with an atmosphere that makes you forget the world outside, and just lounge, ramble, or potter about in a boat. The Shepherd's Hut itself is situated in a recently reclaimed part of the site on the old railway line which was taken out in the 60's, reclaimed by nature until now! Guests will have full access to the whole site & all its faculties. 20 acres of woodland to explore and a freshwater lake to swim, boat and fish in. As well as your own secluded garden space complete with an open fire and garden furniture & couples wood fired hot tub. The shepherds hut has its own private compositing loo and wooden shower shed (made partly from pallets) both outside. You are of course allowed full access to any of the other loo/shower blocks on site. There is also electricity!! Solar powered lights & USB sockets make it easy to charge items or read a book after the sun goes down. However please be aware that there are not any standard plug sockets in the hut. The aim is to have created a space which makes you feel like you are out in nature & the elements but with more comfort than basic camping.
At Free Range Escapes you are a five minute drive from some of the prettiest villages and most spectacular coastline in Cornwall. You can buy fresh mackerel, scallops and crab in the fish cellars at Port Isaac within 10 minutes of leaving your Shepherd's Hut, go sea kayaking under soaring cliffs at Port Quin or take a surfing class on Polzeath’s trend setting shoreline. We have some phenomenal walking right on our doorstep; the Cornwall Coastal Footpath, the Saints’ Way, but unfortunately a car is still usually needed to get you there. 15 minutes up the coast brings you to Tintagel Castle and the ancient village of Boscastle, and the same distance inland lets you walk the rugged solitude of Bodmin Moor. We have a variety of good shops, pubs and restaurants in the area including the now nationally famous Seafood Restaurant in Padstow – book a return with the late water taxi across the moonlit estuary from Rock for a special evening out. You can go on fishing trips, bird watching walks, sea safaris, sailing and windsurfing courses, learn to ride, golf, play tennis, see a touring theatre production, work in watercolours, take a master class in seafood cookery, explore Cornish history, attend a music or literary festival, or just go cycling together on the beaufiful Camel Trail nearby. If you’re prepared to go a little further afield try a day trip by tiny plane to the glorious Isles of Scilly off Land’s End, or a trip to the Minack Theatre set outside on the cliffs high above Porthcurno, or closer by visit the massive biodomes of the ever popular Eden Project.
  • Gosel’s shepherd hut is beautiful! Its surrounded by woodland and is so cosy inside with a little log burner and all the amenities you may need. The hot tub is incredible, we enjoyed a night drinking wine and watching the stars! Gosel is a fab host, she welcomed us late on Friday night and helped us with our luggage. She had also lit the log burner and prepared the hot tub for our arrival. Highly recommend :)

  • Perfect weekend getaway in a gorgeous location. We had windy weather but the hot tub kept us toasty. Loved the safari shower. We would definitely recommend :D

  • If you want a wildness escape with a bit of pampering thrown in this is the place for you. We loved every second in Gosels hut, the hot tub was the highlight of our stay in the area. All the towns are around a 5 min drive away and it’s super easy to navigate the small Cornish roads. Defiantly recommend getting the ferry from Rock to Padstow and St Kew Inn (both recommendations from Gosel to us). Don’t forget your wellies! We will defiantly be back!

  • Great little space to get away from the hustle and bustle of normal life. Very clean and the host was extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend and return in the near future! X

The Lodge is well insulated to modern standards with double glazing and a wood burner, making it a very cosy off grid bolthole in the most extremes of winter weather. Situated yards away from the River Camel nestled in Cotton Wood SSI.
The Lodge sleeps 2 - 3 adults max or two adults and 2 children up to the age of 11. Sleeping arrangements are on two levels- a ground floor level and an upper bunk level. Ground Floor can sleep 2 people, either adult or children. You have the option of two single beds which can be configured to one large double if preferred. The Upper Bunk is 4′ x 6′ in size and is able to sleep 2 children or one adult. The pitched ceiling serves as a cozy den so we do suggest this is perfect for up to two children between the ages of 6 -11 years. Access is via a ladder. Please see the Lodge pictures. Prices vary dependent on time of year. See full details on (Website hidden by Airbnb)
The nearest shop is a mile away with greater shopping and entertainment options 3 miles away along the Camel Trail in the old market town of Wadebridge. Cotton Wood is quite unique and therefore is not to everyone's taste. If you like nature, fishing, mountain biking, getting away from the crowds, or just being still for a while, Cotton Wood Lodge Hideaway could well be perfect for you! Camel Valley wines is across the valley and the Eden project is only 10miles away. The Camel cycle trail continues on from Wadebridge toward Padstow and the beaches beyond, (approximately 9 miles) or you can head inland toward Bodmin and Bodmin Moor along the easy grade cycle way.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Cotton Wood - the log burner was just perfect, and absolutely everything we needed was in the hut. Beautiful peace and quiet and perfect location. We will definitely be back for another stay!! Thank you! Bobbie & Stu

  • A real hidden gem surrounded by nature. Simons place was the perfect getaway, rustic and simple but comfortable and homely with everything you need.. We had a great night in this little piece of paradise. Thanks Simon, we'll be back!

  • Beautiful spot and always a restorative escape!

    Jenny2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely lodge in a beautiful location. The wood is peaceful and private, and you're surrounded by nature. The lodge is cosy and comfortable, and the woodburner heats the room very effectively. We had a lovely time getting away from it all, wandering around the woods and along the river then back to snuggle up in front of the fire. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend, and we'll be back again before too long!

    Ian & Rosie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Simon's place! The cabin is beautifully located right next to a stream with lots of nice walks nearby. The wood burning stove keeps the place nice and warm and you have all the basic utensils you could need for a short stay. The location is gorgeous and the stars are just beautiful on clear night. We can't wait to come and stay here again!

  • Had a great stay in the Shepherds hut, everything was great from comms with Gosel to the actual stay. Loved the hot tub and how cosy the hut was even in horrendous weather. Highly recommend this stay!

    Richard2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A great little private space for us to get away. Loved boating on the lake, and sitting in the hot tub in gale force winds! Thanks to Gosel for all the local tips too. See you again!

    Paul2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Magnificent, magical, marvellous... All the M's. Words can't describe how much my husband and I loved our time away in Elderflower. Gosel, the hut, the land, the lake, the location; it all exceeded our expectations. We will most certainly be back - as soon as humanly possible. You must stay here!

    Rebecca2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay on Valentine’s weekend. The location is perfect, with plenty of things to do around the area. We didn’t have a chance to use the lake due to the weather, however, the hot tub was an excellent addition. The home was cosy, warm and clean. We will definitely be visiting again.

    Owen2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at the Shepherd’s hut! Excellent location and friendly host! Would highly recommend!

    Jamie2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you to Gosel for being such a great host. The Elderflower hut at Free Range Escapes was idyllic and had everything we could possibly need for our New Years break. The hot tub was a great extra, which was lovely at night under the stars. The private lake with rowing boats and canoes was so much fun. The local area had great fishing villages to go and explore during the day, and then to come back to a log burner and a comfy bed was the perfect end to a perfect stay. We will definitely be back to stay again. Thanks Gosel!

    Hannah2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The hut is amazing! Absolutely stunning location and really homely and cosy inside! Gosel is a fantastic host All the little extra touches make this place so special! Will definitely be coming back when the weather is a bit nicer!

    Luke2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place! I have never felt so relaxed. The cozy hut, the unique hot tub, and the outstanding views made our stay. The very friendly cat too! :) Gosel was so welcoming and helpful! Such an amazing host. Thank you!!!! We will be back soon and will highly recommend to everyone.

Stay in this hand-crafted Shepherd's hut that is hidden away in Primrose Cottage's beautiful garden. The Shepherd's hut has a toasty wood-burner, comfortable double bed and is self-contained with your own cooking facilities, ensuite bijou bathroom- complete with a shower.
This hut was made using reclaimed materials by myself and my good friend Mike. Since making this hut we have started a business together making shepherd huts called Pumphrey and Weston. In the hut there is a kitchen with single hob, wood burning stove, shower, toilet and basin. The double bee is a comfy memory foam mattress.
St Mabyn is a picturesque Cornish village, with a great pub, shop and church. It is located near to Polzeath, Tintagel, Rock, Port Issac and Padstow. The Eden Project is about a 30 minute drive.
  • This is a beautiful place to stay. Small and cosy - a perfect spot for something a little different. Great hosts and location. Highly recommend staying here!

  • We only had one night in the Shepherds hut but wish we could have had more! Ginny was superb at giving directions and communicating before and after our stay. The hut was so cosy especially with the log burner roaring and the wind howling outside, dreamy! The pub up the road is very welcoming too and great pub food, all dog friendly.

    Tina2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The hut is very cosy and the fairy lights along with the wood burner give it an extra magical and warm touch 😉 for those stormy days! Ginny communicated with us daily and was very thoughtful! Thank you

    Cátia2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable and cosy stay with excellent facilities. Stayed here for the night before a Christening but hope to return to make use of the log burner and explore the area in better weather. Cannot ask for better hosts, excellent communication, thoughtful personal touches and helpful local tips. Really appreciated the recommendation of the local pub, great menu, atmosphere and most importantly dog friendly.

    Daisy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A cosy retreat with everything you need for a few nights away. The hut held up really well even with storm Clara howling around. We lit the fire, toasted some crumpets and opened a bottle or two of red. Location was perfect as we have family nearby and will definitely return soon

    Angela2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • A very cosy shepherds hut, close to the centre of St Mabyn, a lovely historic and characterful village not far from Wadebridge. Local pub is an easy walk away. Our Springer spaniel loved it too, and had good walks in the fields behind the church, and long runs along the Camel Trail. The hut was set up well, the bed was very comfy and the bathroom well appointed. Loved the lights inside, enjoyed the chocolate biscuits and liqueur chose left out for us when we arrived. We had everything we needed and even managed breakfast outside using the patio table & chairs, despite it being early January! Very good value.

    Anne2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most fantastic stay! The bed was so comfy, we had a lie in for the first time in years! We didn’t want to get up. I was also surprised at how private the hut was, usually they’re placed in someone’s back garden overlooked by the main house but we felt completely private . The pub and shops are all within walking distance and the village is so idyllic. The personal touches left by Ginny and Des were lovely, so much thought had gone into our stay. Would definitely recommend and we will be back next summer!

    Jasmine2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Primrose, it's a lovely little space oozing with quirkiness and character. With everything you need in it's own little place, the shepherds hut is so well thought out, with a comfortable bed and its cosy and romantic too. We lit the log burner too which was just wonderful. Ginny is a fantastic host and she made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend, a great location to explore beautiful Cornwall too.

A warm welcome from us (and our dog Woody) await you in our cosy old terraced house, just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Wadebridge. Slate floors, beamed ceilings, quaint rooms and a pretty garden, your own shower room, along with a comfy bed/s and good wifi. There's plenty of shared space downstairs - a garden room, sitting room, dining room, and large kitchen you are welcome to use.
Kim & Guy invite you to come and stay in their lovely old terraced house in Wadebridge, in beautiful Cornwall. The house is Grade 2 listed and has lots of interesting history. The oldest rooms date from when it was a small detached farmhouse - 1770 we're told. It was then 'added on to' on either side to become part of a terrace (1800's). The kitchen ( and your bedroom above it) are the 'modern extension', built in 1901! We have a lovely beamed first floor double bedroom available, with two windows overlooking the garden. It's slightly separate from the other bedrooms in the house. We try to make it really comfortable, & have included the things that we appreciate ourselves when we go away. This includes things like a bedside table and lamp each side of the bed (most important!). Just outside the bedroom is a little private area with various teas, coffee, biscuits etc are provided - feel free to help yourself. There's also a little fridge for your sole use. Since the photo was taken we have upgraded the bed to a comfortable 5' King size, that can be split into two 2' 6" singles - just let us know on booking how you would like them made up. We've also added a table and chairs so you have somewhere to sit. There's a good internet signal in the bedroom, and an Amazon Echo Dot. If there are 3 of you travelling together, we can make up an extra bed on a floor mattress for an extra £20 per night. The shower room is almost en suite, next to the bedroom and again a bit separate from the rest of upstairs. It's 'sole use' while you're with us, and we provide towels on request. We also have a nice downstairs sitting room for your use, (with a TV/DVD), and a dining room off the kitchen with ceiling beams and a slate flagged floor. You are welcome to use our kitchen/diner. We know how expensive it can get when you're on holiday & have to eat out all the time. We only ask that you eat meals downstairs rather than in the bedroom. We're happy to lend wine glasses etc to take upstairs. You are welcome to use the garden. It's nice to sit out in the evening when the weather's warm. We also have a secure lockable shed in the garden if you bring bikes etc with you. We also have a studio in the garden where I make glass beads - these are for sale, or can be handmade to order while you're here. Or even better - learn to make your own 'flameworked' beads (£45 for a taster session of approx 3 hours) - and have something special to take with you when you leave! PARKING: Parking is on the road at the end of the terrace, or just up the road or round the corner. Just to note that particularly in high season, the road outside gets busier with visitor parking as we are so close to town. The road gets MUCH quieter after 6.00pm, so that is an ideal time to arrive. Having said that, we (and guests) have always been able to park within one or two minutes walk of the house. You can always pull in to the lane right in front of the house to drop off luggage, you just can't park there. If parking is a worry for you we're always happy to move our own cars for you to park. As an absolute last resort (we've never had to), there's a pay and display car park at the bottom of the road.
Wadebridge is fabulously located, just 6 miles from the stunning North Cornwall coast. It's a small, pretty market town, with a pedestrianised shopping street full of independent shops - lots of little gift shops, pubs, deli's and restaurants. From our house it's just 5 minutes walk down the hill into town, so no worries about drinking and driving if you head out in the evening. In the town itself, there's plenty of places to eat and drink. This includes several traditional Cornish pubs, Indian restaurants, Chinese take aways, tapas bars, pizzerias, and plenty of small independent cafes and restaurants. We're happy to give you recommendations! Wadebridge has a lovely park, and the River Camel runs right through the middle of town. Alongside the river, the Camel Trail runs all the way to Padstow, 6 miles away to the west, and Bodmin to the East. This is a traffic free trail specifically for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. It's a beautiful place to stroll as it overlooks the river and then Estuary, so it's popular with bird watchers and photographers too. There's plenty of bike hire places in town. Wadebridge also has a sports centre, and a twin screen independent cinema too, so there's lots to do in the evenings. If you walk up the road rather than down, you're in open countryside within 5 minutes, with plenty of public footpaths & quiet county lanes to explore. Within a short drive (8 miles) is the pretty fishing port of Port Isaac (of Doc Martin/Fishermen's Friends fame). The historic villages of Tintagel & Boscastle are just a few miles further up the road. The surfing beach of Polzeath, & the gorgeous beaches of Rock & Daymer Bay are 7 miles away. Padstow (7 miles) is a really pretty harbour town. It's home to Rick Stein and is well known for its fabulous range of restaurants. Again, you can safely cycle there from the house, and from there walk to a number of beautiful beaches. Many of the beaches face west so you can get amazing sunsets over the sea. Newquay, with good surfing beaches & nightlife, is 15 miles away. The Eden project approx 20 miles. We can tell you about lots of little hidden gems as well! Being fairly centrally situated in Cornwall, nowhere is very far away. A tour of Poldark Country down the A30 is easily do-able in a day. Obviously Cornwall is really popular in the summer, but personally we love it in the spring and autumn, when it's still mild, a lot quieter, and still as beautiful. And don't forget the wild winter waves....
  • Amazing place, very friendly hosts. Thank you Kim, we had a wonderful time!

    Petr2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kim is a very thoughtful host who went out of her way to make our stay as comfortable and homely as possible. It was lovely to meet you all (Woody the dog is an absolute dream!) - thank you so much for having us.

    Jerusha2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kim's place is a really serious find. What a welcome from all the family! They were kindness personified. My sister and I are thinking of staying again next year and taking some glass beading lessons. The twin beds were really comfortable and there is plenty of space and good lights for reading. The arm chairs are really comfortable too. I came across varieties of teas I didn't know about. The way Kim has arranged breakfast meant although we used her charming kitchen we didn't feel we were imposing on her private space. Thanks for a great stay.

    Sue2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • What a super experience. I've stayed in many Airbnbs before but this was the first time I'd shared spare in the owner's property. Myself and my daughter felt really relaxed and comfortable to be in Kim and Guy's home. They are thoughtful and friendly hosts and we made use of the kitchen and a sitting room as well as our own separate space. Woody 's attentions made it all the more special (with lots of encouragement from us). We were very happy with all the facilities. Especially good was the 'extra' little room between the bedroom and shower room, with drinks facilities and a little chest fridge and just more space for our stuff. The breakfasts were lovely too, always with fresh fruit. The location is a positive too - very close to shops and eateries, with nice walks and a view nearby. I would heartily recommend...

    Allison2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in this cozy homely air b&b. The hosts were great and were kind enough to lend us their bodyboards while we were there. There was plenty of options for breakfast and the house was in a perfect location, just a short walk from wadebridge town. All in had a fantastic stay.

    Daniel2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely big room with a very cosy bed. Bathroom very close by. Do make sure you see Kim’s road directions on how to find her place as it can be a little tricky. Parking is only on road and could be scarce.

    Karen2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Kim and Guy were so incredibly hospitable. Their home is beautiful and inviting. Super comfy bed - exactly what we needed as a luxury during our week of camping down the Cornish coast! Good breakfast options. And Woody the dog was such a nice guy!!! It felt like we were staying at a friends house. We’re very grateful to have met such nice hosts... thank you Kim, Guy and Woody!

    Lucky2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Superb greeting, lovely accommodation full of character. Woody is a darling and was no trouble at all. Bed is very comfortable and the allocated coffee area outside the bedroom is a nice touch. Do think about taking a class with Kim to do some glass bead making. I did and I'm hooked. We will be going back asap.

    Georgia2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Peter and Pam's place combines great location, friendly hospitality and comfortable accommodation. We particularly enjoyed the delicious breakfast and liked the en suite toilet and sink. I very much appreciated Pam giving me newspapers to stuff into my soaked shoes for drying. We really enjoyed our stay!

  • Wow!! What a super house. Was perfect for our group. Iain was really friendly and made everything very easy for us.

    Jenny2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This house is stunning, the pictures on here are lovely but they cannot do it justice with the amazing modern and spacious rooms. We had all 3 rentals and they were all 5 star. There was 15 of us in total and we all said how amazing the house is and no one wanted to leave. So much room no one was on top of each other. We were there for my partners 40th and I brought a cake but forgot the candles! I didn’t need to worry though as there were brand new candles in the drawer (saved the day, can’t have a birthday cake without a wish). The house had everything you could need and more. It was spotlessly clean throughout. It had the latest music system and great underfloor heating. Which in February we needed lol. Iain was very friendly and informative and it was great how we could access it earlier. Rachael was very quick to reply to my questions and an excellent host. The location is stunning it is rural with lovely views over fields. We had some food in Wadebridge and then got taxis’s back to the house. It was a very a short journey. Polzeath is also only a short drive which has a stunning beach. The book of the journey to build the house was fascinating and it truly is a Grand Design. I couldn’t recommend this place enough and hopefully will return in the future.

The rooms were spotlessly clean and were equipped with everything we needed for a restful stay, the highlight being a log burner in the bedroom. We would definitely recommend a stay here, especially as it’s close to so many gorgeous places to visit.

  • Great location! The local pub is a thirty minute walk down the lane and if you don’t want to walk there’s loads of local pubs to head to! Because of its great location, you’re really close to everything. The place itself is very clean and cosy. The underfloor heating in the kitchen was a great extra! Our personal favorite was the record player, adds a bit of fun. Definitely worth a stay to anyone who is looking!

Chapel Amble Lodge is a newly built cabin set in the secluded garden of our family home. The lodge has its own access and front door along with small kitchenette and sitting area. The bedroom has its own en-suite shower-room. There is even a private south facing terrace from which to sit and enjoy the peace and quite. Boasting its own pub and post office/village shop, Chapel Ample is the perfect base from which to explore local beaches, take rugged coastal walks and visit nearby Port Isaac.
The Lodge has been designed to offer the perfect Bed and Breakfast get away for those looking for a break from it all. Accessed via its own pedestrian lane the Lodge is positioned at the end of our garden and enjoys a southerly aspect. The Lodge itself has a small open plan kitchenette and seating area where you can sit and relax in comfort. There is a separate double bedroom with en-suite shower room. The small kitchenette is equipped with its own fridge, microwave and egg poacher (no cooker)... In fact everything you need to prepare relaxed continental breakfasts and light meals... For something more substantial the Maltsters Arms (150 meters away) serves excellent food and local ales. There are also pubs and restaurants in the neighbouring villages of St Kew & Port Isaac and nearby Towns of Padstow & Wadebridge serving food for all tastes and pockets. Chapel amble has a strong 3G signal and the Lodge has wifi. The Wifi code is provided in the Welcome file.
Chapel Amble is a fantastic village to explore North Cornwall. Set in rolling Cornish countryside there are some fantastic walks from the village in all directions including along the river Amble & Amble Marshes which is a real wildlife haven (SSSI protected). The village has managed to retain a sense of community all year round and still has a fantastic pub 'The Maltsters' which continues to receive consistently good reviews as well as a great traditional post office and village shop which serves all the basics.. Whilst escaping the summer crowds the village is perfectly placed to explore the stunning Camel Estuary including Rock, Wadebridge and Padstow all less than 5 miles away , as well as the rugged north Cornwall coast: Port Isaac (5miles), Tintagel (14miles). The area is also blessed with sites of historic interest such as Tintagel Castle (English Heritage) and Lanhydrock House (National trust) being just two such examples. The Eden Project is also about 1/2 an hours drive and is always a good day out.
  • This lodge is a lovely space to stay. My partner and I spent two nights there, and enjoyed being in such clean, comfortable and cosy accommodation. • My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at chapel amble lodge over the August bank holiday weekend and had a great time! The lodge was super clean, stylish, had good amenities and was much more spacious inside than it looks. Finding the place and Self Check in were both really quick and easy after excellent communication from the hosts. The village is small and very pretty, with a great little pub for a drink outside in the sunshine. It is also not far from a number of popular towns and beaches such as Pastow, Rock and Polzeath. Thanks again for a great stay Kathy! Jack & Becky

Honeysuckle Cottage is situated about a mile from St Tudy a quaint Cornish village, the church around which the village was built was first constructed in the 6th century and then rebuilt in the 11th, 15th and latterly 19th centuries, the village has been built around the original Celtic circular raised graveyard - known locally as "God's Acre!" St Tudy is believed to be the birthplace of Captain Bligh of the "Mutiny on the Bounty" fame! The St Tudy Inn (formerly the Cornish Arms) will welcome you in for a refreshing drink, a hearty meal or both!Wadebridge was originally a market town. It has an amazing 15th century bridge with 17 arches over the River Camel, which is definitely worth a visit. It is said the bridge was built on wool as this was how the wealthy landowners in the area made their money. From the day the bridge was built the town became known as Wadebridge. The Royal Cornwall Show ground at Wadebridge hosts the county show every June, come rain or shine, opened each year by a member of the Royal Family. Cornish Farmers have had to diversify in recent years and so has the show, but they have kept their traditional roots with steam engines being shown next to the shiny new high-tech tractors. It's not every day you get to see formation JCB digger dancing in the main ring. Both Wadebridge and nearby Camelford are centrally located in order to explore the nearby hills and moors. Wadebridge is the perfect base, being the half way point, from which to discover the Camel Trail, a walk and cycle track following the old railway route from Bodmin to Padstow. There is wonderful scenery and plenty of wildlife, including fantastic sightings of wading birds to see on this serene trail and bikes can be hired from Bodmin, Wadebridge or Padstow. From Padstow you could take a boat trip across the Camel Estuary to Rock, and lounge on the beautiful beach that stretches all the way around to Daymer Bay. The National Lobster Hatchery neighbours Rick Steins empire in Padstow. The National Trust have three properties nearby, Lanhydrock House, Trerice and Carnewas and the dramatic cliffs and beach at Bedruthan Steps. Or if you fancy something different try a tour around the Camel Valley Vineyard, Cornish Wine has been growing in stature around the world and their sparkling wines are truly stunning, having picked up lots of international awards, go for a tasting you will not be disappointed!Bodmin Moor is a couple of miles away to the East and is dominated by large granite tors which tower over sweeping expanses of moorland. Bodmin Moor has engendered fear and awe throughout history and hence provided inspiration for writers, poets and sculptors. Standing stones, burial chambers, clapper bridges cottages and farms across the moor give a hint of the 4000 years of human development ever since Bronze Age farmers first arrived.Port Isaac is about 4 miles to the North West and this has recently been the base of filming for "Doc Martin" with Martin Clunes, there are a good selection of cafes shops and pubs. Further up the coast there are all of the golden beaches and coves between Polzeath and Tintagel with some of the best surf in Europe.Bodmin lies a few miles to South West and has a large selection of supermarkets, shops and restaurants.

Rose Cottage is situated about a mile from St Tudy a quaint Cornish village, the church around which the village was built was first constructed in the 6th century and then rebuilt in the 11th, 15th and latterly 19th centuries, the village has been built around the original Celtic circular raised graveyard - known locally as "God's Acre!" St Tudy is believed to be the birthplace of Captain Bligh of the "Mutiny on the Bounty" fame!
  • A perfect Cornish cottage in a perfect location an easy drive to the coast and inland if needed! Clean as a whistle and luxury bedding and towels- thank you x

  • Beautifully presented place in a superb location. Wine, milk and flowers gratefully received. Bonus was the wood burner and plentiful supply of wood. Kitchen great, garden great, bedrooms cosy, all in all we loved our stay. Thank you.

  • Lovely place, would definitely visit again.

    Lucy2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful property, fully stocked and exceeding the usual holiday home, just book it, you will not be disappointed other than by Cornwall’s Broadband speeds. But that’s not a criticism of Rose Cottage or its value.

    Mark2019-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very quiet, clean and a lovely garden. The central location was ideal for us to visit lots of what Cornwall had to offer, especially as it is close to the A39. The welcoming touches were well received. I would definitely consider another stay in the cottage, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to a friend. No typical touristy bustle, just the cottage and you. Lovely.

  • Cherry gave us a very warm welcome. Her flat is so convenient and comfortable, and we enjoyed her company on arrival and at breakfast- there was a super fresh fruit salad with breakfast - Cherry is a very thoughtful and attentive hostess.

    Clare2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Cherry was a delightful, kind and caring host who made me feel welcome and at home, in her lovely home, within moments of arriving; excellent cups of tea too, by the way! The apartment was spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed and was in a very convenient location to explore both Wadebridge and the local environment. Cherry's private car parking space was made available to me, used and was very convenient. Cherry also gave me open access to her stylish modern apartment so that I was able to enjoy all the convenience of living, with style, in Wadebridge. I have no hesitation in giving her the highest grading both for her home and her own natural warmth and kindness. Thank you Cherry!

Set in a beautiful spot away from the busy centres but handy for Rock, Port Isaac , Padstow and Wadebridge and great for our stop off to explore another area en route to our main holiday destination. We had a Cornish breakfast at the St Kew farm shop, just nearby and a longer stay would have been nice to sample the pretty pubs local to Mel’s and walk, cycle etc Great accommodation in a lovely part of Cornwall worth taking a couple of wrong turns to find!

Right in the heart of the famous village of Port Isaac, this little cottage is just a few steps from the harbour. Full of character, with low ceilings and bijou rooms, this is a proper old Cornish cottage! Fisherman's Cottage has the advantage of TWO free parking spaces just 150m away!
This small but atmospheric cottage is just a few steps from the harbour in the heart of the famous village of Port Isaac. The living room / diner and separate kitchen are both limited in size and headroom but that is all part of the charm of staying in a cottage such as this in the middle of such a wonderful village. The bedrooms are both twins (due to the difficulty of getting large furniture upstairs) and located on the first and second floor. Stepping out of the stable door onto Middle Street is like stepping into pure Cornwall! A lovely narrow lane leading to the charming harbour and beach that Port Isaac is so famous for. The Slipway Hotel, the pubs, the coffee shops and of course Doc Martin's house are all here. Please bear in mind that Fisherman's Cottage is an old cottage with narrow steep stairs, low ceilings and of limited size. Accommodation Ground Floor: Compact living room and dining room. Small fully fitted kitchen. First Floor: Twin bedroom and bathroom. Second Floor: Twin bedroom with sea glimpses from the window. Facilities & Services Heating is via night storage heaters. The kitchen has a range of equipment. There is an electric oven and hob, a microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge with freezer box. The sitting room area has a flatscreen digital TV & DVD player and CD. There is an iron & ironing board. WiFi is available at the property. Miscellaneous Electricity, heating, bed linen & towels are all included but you will need to provide your own beach towels. Regrettably no smoking or dogs are allowed. There are 2 free, dedicated parking spaces 150m away at the Old School Hotel. Visitors are able to drive up to the cottage for the purposes of loading and unloading luggage. General Booking Information Arrival / Departure is normally a Friday. Short breaks are available during quieter periods. £100 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.
Port Isaac, tucked away on the North Coast between Padstow and Boscastle, has recently been home to the television series 'Doc Martin' with Martin Clunes. Although previous years have seen the series Poldark film here and in nearby Port Quinn. Much of the village is 18th and 19th century and there a wonderful narrow streets and alleyways to explore. It is a maze of narrow lanes and pathways known as "drangs" with only one road through, along which traffic is discouraged. The houses are traditional stone built, slate hung cottages. As with many places in Cornwall, once having relied heavily on fishing and fish processing, the village now caters for many visitors with plenty of shops and eateries for the frequent visitors. In the heart of the village are a pub, two hotels, two cafe / bistros. There are other pubs and a cafe at the top of the village. There is a bakery, delicatessen, fishmongers and a well stocked Coop supermarket. Fish may also be bought from the local fishmerchants in the fish cellars by the harbour. There are also the usual art and craft shops. Those interested in fishing may hire a local boat and fisherman. Kayaking may also be arranged in the village. The National Trust coastal path runs through the village and provides spectacular walks over the cliffs. Many places of interest are in easy reach: Pencarrow House, Tintagel, The Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan along with many others. Padstow is close by with its many restaurants and attractions. It can be visited by the foot ferry from Rock and trips may be made out to sea, with puffins on the nearby islands at the right time of year. At Rock there are excellent beaches and boats may be hired from the sailing school along with windsurfers. Other good sandy beaches are at Polzeath and Trebarwith, both of which cater for windsurfing. There is also Daymer Bay, a famous windsurfing spot. From Daymer, it is just a short walk to St. Enedoc church where Sir John Betjeman is buried. Wadebridge has shops of interest and makes a pleasant wander round.
  • Lovely quaint little cottage in the heart of wonderful Port Isaac. Was perfect for our stay, surrounded by everything we needed for our 4 day stay, pub, restaurants, pasty shop, grocery shop, sweet shop and of course the sea. Perfect little getaway

    Andrew2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location and a quaint experience staying in an authentic fisherman’s cottage in an authentic fisherman’s village.

    Bernard2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • If anyone loves the PBS show Doc Martin, this is the place to go. The Fishermans Cottage, is walking distance to everything. The other great thing is the parking spaces, that come with this Airbnb. This time of year would be a great time to come. My wife and I live in Newport Beach, and our friends live in Poole, in Southern England. We hope to return next year. So hurry and book.

    Jim2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable cottage in very centre of Port Isaac. We had a very enjoyable few days here, had no trouble finding, unloading, and parking. To have a private parking space in the middle of Port Isaac was wonderful. Two decent- sized bedrooms and good kitchen facilities complete the picture.

    David2019-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Very central to everything in the town. Having a car spot is a definite plus rather then having to park in the public car park. We loved port issac

    Sandra2018-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • The absolute best location. Not suitable for people over 5 foot 10 inches tall or people with mobility problems--built in the 15th century with very low ceilings, very steep stairs. Smells beachy. About 100 feet from the lifeboat station, beach and view of Doc Martin's surgery (now a B&B), Large Cafe (a private home) and Mrs Tishell's Pharmacy (a candy and ice cream shop). Great fresh fish and seafood at the shop right next to the slipway. Everything is totally walkable.

    Dana2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Fisherman's Cottage in picturesque Port Isaac was lovely in every way. Situated steps from the harbor, in the center of this beautiful fisherman's hamlet, we were treated with gorgeous sunsets, finest sea food, delicious beer and the miracle of Cream Tea. The cottage is small, the ceilings are low, as one would expect in such a village where space is a premium, but this only adds to the authenticity of the experience. We lucked out with the weather, clear skies and very warm days, but the cottage cooled down and we slept soundly with the music of sea gulls and waves riding the fresh sea air. My only regret was that our stay was too brief. I look forward to returning to capture more of the Cornwall essence, and The Fisherman's Cottage would be my first stop!

Two miles from Polzeath beach, a mile to Port Quin, half a mile to the secluded bay of Epphaven, 3 miles from Rock, 5 miles to Port Isaac along the road or 4 miles along the foot and coast path. Doc Martin is filmed in Port Isaac every second year so filming from about April 2019. Ideal for a few days surfing/kite surfing/kayaking/sailing/water skiing/walking or running the coast path or visiting the pubs/cafes and restaurants Rick Steins, Nathan Outlaws are probably the most well known.
Price is for 2 people in one double bed, £25 extra for each additional person up to 4 people. The whole of the first floor of the house: there are two good sized double bedrooms and a bathroom. The second bedroom has a double bed, a tv and a lovely big balcony with fabulous view over farmland and The Point at Polzeath golf and country club and Daymer Bay and Polzeath. The bathroom has a bath with over bath shower, wc and basin. I do not provide breakfast but you are very welcome to bring whatever you like to eat and prepare in the kitchen/dinning area. Please let me know what dog you have before booking. Must be castrated/neutered as I have had problems with dogs leaving their scent in the house!!
We are in a very quiet location, but a very short drive to the buzz of Polzeath, or the historic Port Isaac, country pubs such as The St Kew Inn and the well known restaurants such as Rick Steins in Padstow, Jamie Oliver at Watergate Bay and Nathan Outlaw in Port Isaac. Everything is very sleepy during the winter months but its actually lovely for coast path walks/surfing/kite surfing and visiting our lovely pubs with the locals.

Our detached home is set in an acre of garden in a quiet rural hamlet 1 mile from the village of Chapel Amble and 5 miles from the pretty town of Wadebridge. We are ideally located to explore the villages of North Cornwall (Padstow, Port Isaac, Tintagel, Boscastle). The Eden Project is just under 40 minutes by car. Our nearest beach is Polzeath. Please note that although the tourist areas are easily accessible by car, you will need to use your car to get about due to our rural location.
We are a warm and friendly family with three young children aged 8, 7 and 5, four chickens and a cat. We like to live life simply and slowly and would love to welcome you to stay in our home. Our ground floor garden room is duel aspect and spacious with its own bathroom (with a good over bath shower) and private entrance. We can sleep 2 in a king size bed for the current listing price and there is a single bed available for an extra £10 per night. If you would like to use both beds in the room and there are only two people, there is a supplement of £5 to help with our laundry costs. The room is large enough to accommodate a travel cot / crib . We don't charge extra for a baby and can provide a travel cot if needs be. If you are a family with younger children, we are very accommodating and understanding - we have three of our own after all! Our home is an 'L' shape and the guest room is at the far end of one part of the 'L' on the other side of our 30ft kitchen / family room. Please note that although the room has its own private entrance and bathroom, it is not in a separate building. As this is an Airbnb home-stay you will be warmly welcomed into our family and during the day you will have the opportunity to meet our lovely and sometimes lively children. At night it is very quiet as your room is quite separate from our own bedrooms and lounge. We don't suffer from noise pollution here and our guests find that they sleep very well - the comfy bed gets great reviews too! We provide tea and coffee making facilities and a rustic breakfast of freshly baked home made sourdough, a selection of jams and tea or cafetiere coffee which can be eaten in the privacy of your room. The bread I make is good quality artisan bread and like all good things it takes time to make. It is more filling than your average shop bought slice of white and the fermentation process means its a much healthier option. I like to experiment with my sourdough so breakfast can include a mixture of sweet and savoury bread. My current favourite is chocolate, sultana and treacle! If you are looking for a full English breakfast we can recommend cafes in the area that provide this. The room we offer is ideal for anyone who would like a comfortable stay in a friendly home from home environment. We are a down to earth family and like to live in a low impact and low tech way, so if you want to be nourished by nature and get away from it all, this is the place for you! Our home is quirky, well loved and lived in and we guarantee you a very warm welcome and a taste of our life in this idyllic part of Cornwall. Our little hamlet has 8 houses and a very small dairy farm and is situated between the villages of Chapel Amble and St Kew. We don't have a pub of our own, but the surrounding villages do and they serve good food which makes them very popular particularly during the summer months (booking in advance is advisable during this time). Port Isaac (4 miles), Padstow (12.8 miles), Tintagel (9.6 miles), Boscastle (13 miles) are all easily accessible by car. Polzeath beach is our nearest beach and is a 10 minute drive from here and is very popular with surfers. There are several places there where you can hire surf equipment or book lessons. If you want to bring your own surfboard and wet suits we have space to store and dry them. If you are interested in something a bit different, we can provide private meditation sessions to our guests using the healing sound of the medicine drum. We can hold the session in the comfort of our lounge upstairs or in the kitchen if you prefer. Please let us know if you would like to find out more about this when you make your booking. DOGS You are welcome to bring your well behaved and child friendly dog with you (we can only allow one dog as there is limited space in the room). Our local beach Polzeath allows dogs from 1st October through to the start of Easter and there are plenty of dog friendly beaches in Cornwall all year round. Please note that we have three young (dog friendly) children, 4 chickens (in a run) and a cat, so yourdog will need to be happy to be around them. Also our garden is not enclosed and open to grazing fields (cows). There is an additional charge of £5 for your dog. If you would like to bring your dog, please message us first so we can discuss the arrangements and house rules we have in place.
We live in a pretty hamlet of 8 houses about 1 mile outside the village of Chapel Amble and 5 miles from the town of Wadebridge. There is a very small traditionally run dairy farm in the hamlet (with a herd of approximately 20 cows). The cows graze in the fields surrounding us and there are some lovely walks round the lanes where children can enjoy cow 'spotting'. St Kew with its popular St Kew Inn is just over a mile away in one direction and the Maltsters Pub in Chapel Amble is just over a mile in the other direction. Both pubs serve good quality food. Whilst you can walk to them the walks are on single track country lanes, so driving is advisable at night outside of the longer daylight hours. During peak season it is recommended to ring ahead to book a table as both pubs are very popular and get booked up quickly. Please note that we live in a rural area so do not have the facilities of a town or village, however there are shops in Wadebridge (5 miles away) including supermarkets (Tesco, Lidl, Aldi). Wadebridge is a pretty town with plenty of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. There are several good sized car parks to use in town. The Camel trail is fun to cycle along and there are plenty of bike hire companies in Wadebridge town. Rock and Padstow are nearby and there are many beaches and villages to explore in the area.
  • One of the best AirBnB accommodations I have ever been. Very spacious room with a big bathroom (wellnes shower!!). Everything very clean! Wonderful view into the garden. Absolutely silent and peaceful. A place to calm down and to relax in the middle of the countryside. Jo was very helpful and gave me some good advices. Highly recommended!

Small Studio Apartment, above Jo Downs Handmade Glass in Padstow. Centrally located in the heart of Padstow. Kitchenette for basic cooking only. This is a one room bedsit with a shower room /toilet. The majority of guests have found this convenient but a small number of very tall guests have found the toilet difficult to use easily.
Located above the Jo Downs Handmade Glass gallery at the corner of Middle Street and Church Street.
Padstow has established itself over the past few decades as a go to location for holiday makers visiting Cornwall. With award winning restaurants and Rick Stein's Bistro it is very popular food lovers. A lovely fishing village harbour makes it a popular picture postcard destination.
  • the flat is small but has all we needed for our stay and the location is fabulous

  • A fantastic studio apartment right in the heart of Padstow and 2 minutes walk from the harbour. Excellent facilities and warm and cosy with easy access. Really recommend for a stay in Padstow. Spa shop at end of road and cafes and restaurants near for breakfast lunch and tea. I had a wonderful stay.

    Janet2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • It’s exactly as described. A small studio room on the first floor of a building right in the town of Padstow. Everything you need.

    Chris2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely small studio in the centre of Padstow. Looks exactly like it does in the pictures. Fresh and clean. Comfy bed. This was the second time we stayed here.

    Tracey2019-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is in the perfect location, right by all of the shops, pubs, restaurants etc. Check in was an absolute breeze, safe lock for the keys so you don't need to worry if you arrive late about bothering anyone. There is a pub right outside the flat (bear this in mind for the evenings, can get a little loud ) There is a shortcut up some stairs to the right as you leave the apartment to a car park which is only £3 for 24 hours, this was perfect for our stay. The place was clean and tidy, the only downside is the toilet space, it's a little snug. But other than that, we would definitely consider staying here again

PQ2 Complete escapism. Arrive, park up, grab your bits and head down to the cabin along a private 300m footpath. Breath in the fresh Cornish sea air and crack open a cold beer under the trees and take in the stunning location.
Please note PQ2 is aimed at people looking for a secluded getaway where no mobile phone reception is a good thing. You’ll need to park up at the farm and walk 300m to the cabin. Also the bed is raised and requires climbing a ladder. Kick back and relax at PQ2. Everything you need is in the cabin. Set in a valley that runs out to the sea at Port Quin. Here you can forget about the outside world and switch off. Light the fire, nestle down in the snug lounge, put your favourite tunes on the speaker and stair out at the epic views. Take the private path from the cabin out to the road and take a 1 mile stroll down to the beach and go for a swim. If you enjoy walking you can pick up the world famous south west coast path here and either head north or south. You’ll discover empty beaches, amazing scenery and fresh Cornish air! The cabin itself is a full off-grid living space with all you need for a night or a month. Hot water, a great shower, gas hobs, kettle, a compact fridge, a modern composting toilet and toasty wood burner. Built to utilise all the space, you have a kitchen with breakfast bar, cosy snug lounge located under the raised king sized bed area. Within the lounge you have a sofa and table. Both areas share the same amazing view out of the giant end window down the valley towards Port Quin. Also you have a great outside area, perfect for sun bathing, bbq’ing up or just chilling listening to the stream below rush by.
Port Quin is located mid way along the North Cornish coast in an area of outstanding natural beauty. PQ2 is just 1 mile from the harbour set in a valley with amazing views down to the sea and over the surrounding countryside.
  • We had an amazing stay in PQ2 and would definitely recommend it! It is such a great space and the location is perfect. The container is the perfect place to chill out after exploring the local area.

    Steven2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet and Peaceful with the comings and going off the local wildlife Fab location with stunning views in a area of outstanding beauty .

    Glen2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Everything worked great. Liked the special touch of the place and the remoteness.

    Nils2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Could not have asked for more. I needed to escape from life and this off grid cabin was perfect. Space was very clean and cosy with lovely touches. Very easy to find but just a note the hill down to the cabin is quite steep so it's good to be relatively fit with your wheelbarrow of belongings. Perfect location for walks along the coastal path and for exploring the near by coastal towns. Will definitely be going back.

    Georgina2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Best place ever!! The container itself was so great with everything we needed - the location was so peaceful and port Quinn was beautiful! Would visit again!!

    Charlotte2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a find! We were overjoyed to stay in this wonderful cabin with so many thoughtful touches to make our experience outstanding! The location is the principal joy of course, lovely view of the sea. Then there is the incredible peace we were blessed with here. Just the sounds of birds and the wheat blowing in the breeze apart from the odd helicopter. The cabin is really well equipped and thoughtfully designed to make living in such a tiny space possible. Our only disappointment was that we had bought marshmallows to cook in the firepit but it was raining so we had to give up on this idea. Rain in general was a feature, we got soaked on our walk down to Port Quinn and the stunning coastline around there and again on our walk back up but it was well worth the sogginess and the effort. Do not miss the opportunity to stop in this wonderful accommodation. Mark and his beautiful dog are very welcoming and Cornwall,as ever beautiful.

    Helen2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cabin in the middle of nowhere. Well equipped and clean.

    Annelies2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is absolutely amazing! It is clean, cosy and has a fantastic view! You have everything you need and we had a fantastic week switching off from the world completely! Do not miss out on staying in such a unique and wonderful space! Thanks Mark!

Cosy studio apartment with parking right in the centre of Wadebridge, situated on the banks of the River Camel and linked to the seaside port of Padstow by the Camel trail. The apartment is literally yards from the trail and all the amenities. Accommodation comprises separate kitchen, bedroom with fitted wardrobes, small settee, TV and WiFi, shower room . You can have everything that you want within walking and cycling distance or use as a base to explore the wonderful north Cornwall coast.
  • Great location and everything you need in the apartment which is spotless and stylish. We would love to come back!

    Jeanette2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah is a first rate hostess, quick to communicate and offering a centrally located, spotlessly clean studio which is great value for money. I have stayed before and will stay again. This trip the studio was decorated for the season and my favourite milk provided - little touches which are always appreciated.

    Susan2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant location if you like to visit the local pubs and the camel trail. We stayed for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day and we had an amazing time. Plenty of space in the bedroom and if you don’t mind a cooking on your own the kitchen has everything you need - we cooked a full Christmas dinner with no problems. Overall a lovey stay over the Christmas period and would recommend for couples. Debbie was an excellent host, who decorated he bedroom with tinsel and a Christmas tree and made it feel very homely and cosy. Thanks Debbie!

  • The perfect base camp for our few days in Cornwall, a charming little property that was spotlessly clean and incredibly comfy. Parking space was a real bonus as we were on the Camel Trail most days and Debbie was very responsive. Would definitely stay here again if we came back to Wadebridge!

Dove Cottage is a traditionally built Cornish stone cottage with its own walled garden. Cool in summer and warm in winter. The cottage is in Chapel Amble within walking distance of The Maltsters Arms (excellent pub and restaurant) and the village Post Office and shop. Close to North Cornwall Coastal Path, Camel Estuary and magnificent beaches.
Dove Cottage is fully equipped with everything you might need for a short break or longer holiday.
Dove Cottage is well placed to visit a wide range of beaches, walks, country homes and visitor attractions. In particular the Camel Trail, Polzeath beach, Port Isaac and the Eden Project are all within easy striking distance.
  • Chapel Amble is an adprable village, is like stepping back in time. The pub was great, super food and within 3 mins walk from Homeleigh Farm. Dove Cottage was much more roomy than the photos appear and was so peaceful. I have never slept so well! The kitchen is fully equipped and bathroom clean with a super shower. The enclosed private garden was a bonus-my little dog loved it and then at the back 6 acres of grassy fields and even a maze, gave us much fun and enjoyment. The location was perfect to drive to stunning Cornish beaches and Wadebridge town for all main shops if needs be. Would absolutely recommend for anyone looking for a pure slice of the English country life. On-site Philip was there to answer any questions. Great host.

  • Good location. Private garden. Very dog friendly. Wood burner was a winner. Cosy comfortable home from home.

  • Beautiful location. Communication with Philip was great. The cottage was perfect for our family of four. Well equipped and very clean. We will definitely stay there again!

    Diana2019-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay, the cottage is very cosy especially when theres a fire burning, a real treat on a winters evening. Its bigger than it appears in the photos which was nice. Also we enjoyed the lovely little private garden and walking around the common grounds on the farm which are huge, (our cat particularly enjoyed chasing us around the hedge maze). The village is very small but with the pub/restaurant and post office/shop it had all we needed. The locals we all very nice and welcoming. My only regret being an Irish man was the bar tended to close a little early. Philip was a great host. A very pleasant man who was always on hand when we needed him. We hope to return again when the weather is better.

Lamellen Lodge is situated about a mile from St Tudy a quaint Cornish village, the church around which the village was built was first constructed in the 6th century and then rebuilt in the 11th, 15th and latterly 19th centuries, the village has been built around the original Celtic circular raised graveyard - known locally as "God's Acre!" St Tudy is believed to be the birthplace of Captain Bligh of the "Mutiny on the Bounty" fame!

The town has everything you could possibly need and of course right on the camel trail headed to both Padstow and Bodmin.

Set in the heart of the north Cornwall countryside, this little hideaway is perfect for a getaway for two. This cute cabin is fully insulated and beautifully redecorated in 2019. Set in its own little space, the cabin has a lovely outdoor space, complete with pond. There is plenty of parking. As you can see from the photographs, Hawk's Nest sits in its own grounds, which can allow for a quiet and secluded get away in beautiful surroundings
We have always maintained very high standards of hygeine, but with the current Covid 19 outbreak we are very conscious of deep cleaning the accommadation after every stay. Cleaning products, including anti-bacterial spray are available in the cabin at all times. All bedding and towels are washed at 60 degrees. We understand if you wish to bring your own bedding and towels please inform us prior to arrival. (double bed) Complimentary tea, coffee, fresh milk and biscuits are available on arrival. The brand new bathroom has a lovely hot shower. The kitchen area, has a fridge, 2 ring cooker, microwave, toaster and kettle. If you bring bikes, we have secure storage and if you fancy cooking outside, we have a BBQ you can use. The cabin has one double bed, but if you are a larger group, you are welcome to camp out on the lawn and share the facilities or bring your camper. Cost per person is £10 for this option.
Our cabin is just a stone's throw away from the beautiful Cornish town of Wadebridge, which is bursting with independent shops and eateries. It is also just 2 miles from the famous Camel trail linking Wadebridge to Padstow and the picturesque sandy beaches, and less than a mile from Strong Adolfos, which arguably serve the best coffee and cake in North Cornwall!
  • This place is amazing. My partner and I have stayed in a number of Airbnb’s and this is the best one yet, without fail. A food hamper on arrival, easy check in and a super clean home with amazing views, what more could you ask for! If we ever come back to Cornwall we will definitely look to book this place again!

The heating was put on plenty of time ahead of our arrival so it was so toasty by the time we got there, even after I changed the time we arrived. The cabin was so lovely and clean and I loved all the little touches. The extra throws and blankets were lovely to cuddle up in. The shampoo and conditioner smelt lovely and the extra touch of a little mirror was perfect. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back to stay again. Would highly recommend! Thankyou.

  • Nice little cottage, very quiet, in the middle of the fields, properly equipped and very clean. 10 min from the small town of Wadebridge, convenient for shops. Despite the rain we took advantage of the garden thanks to the large bay. Catherine kindly greeted us upon arrival, we are delighted with our short stay !!

  • A very small but well thought out flat in a great location. Off street parking a bonus in such a tight village. We had a lovely stay.

    Chris2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at the Old Boathouse - a cute little converted boathouse with history and ingenious use of space (i.e. the suitcase storage and clothes hanging space over the stairs), lovely and clean and the bed was so comfortable - I had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in ages. Well situated too for strolls into the village. It was lovely to meet Cheryl - so friendly and the perfect host. Thanks so much, we will definitely be back!

    Sue2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location ideal for exploring the area and a lovely base

  • A lovely bijou hideaway, perfect for a weekend break!

    Joanne2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely week in the Boat House. When I met Cheryl the owner she couldn't have been more friendly or welcoming. It is in a very convenient situation with a short walk to the quay and village (there is a steep hill involved)! There is plenty of choice for restaurants; everywhere we went the people were friendly and helpful. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and very well thought out. Thank you. I'm sure we will visit again. Linda

  • We had a lovely stay at The Old Boathouse- it is incredibly cosy and although it is small it is perfectly formed! We really appreciated the welcoming touches of biscuits and milk after a long journey- also really appreciated Cheryl coming to check on us when our car broke down! I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, it's a perfect location and a gorgeous place to stay.

  • My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Christina's at the weekend. Firstly she was very responsive to our changing plans throughout the day and was there as soon as we arrived to walk us through everything we needed during our stay. In the room there was an extremely helpful diary which noted all the local events going on during our stay, as well as a bookcase full of helpful guide books and leaflets. On our seconds day we received lots of information on great local places to eat for breakfast through dinner which really came in handy. The room was extremely cosy, with a warm modern bathroom/towels. We arrived around 6pm and were thrilled to find milk, tea bags and biscuits waiting for us, a very welcome touch to the room, as well as a smart TV with access to Netflix and most channels. We won't hesitate at all to stay again if we're down in Cornwall again. Thanks, Rob and Helen.

  • Lovely little annex in a quiet location. Very comfortable, warm and cozy and spotlessly clean. Host was very helpful and accommodating. The pub was just a few minutes walk so great for evening meal or a drink too.

  • The Annex is a little gem tucked away in Saint Mabyn, it’s beautifully furnished, lots of little extras, wonderful large shower and extremely comfortable bed. St Mabyn has a vibrant pub serving excellent food and the locals are very friendly. The host is a very accommodating lady and responds promptly to any queries and even sends useful information about St Mabyn and the surrounding area, a lovely touch and very informative. Highly recommend this property.

  • We would thoroughly recommend a stay at Christina's place. It's cosy and very clean, with little touches such as fresh milk, biscuits and hand written notes with local recommendations. Christina was welcoming and if we had any questions was happy to answer them! (lots of lovely places to eat nearby).

    Mimi2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Christina’s annex is great, stylish and extremely clean. The bed is comfy, thoughtful and useful amenities and a nice bathroom, the whole annex feels new. A great addition is the Dyson fan hot and cool which was nice in the colder evenings.
