  • We had a wonderful time in Peters cottage. A quiet and peaceful location but so easy to get to from the M6 and 5 minutes from Sedburgh. The whole place was clean and looked lovely and the rooms were spacious. The hot tub was clean and good for the evenings, and when it was too cold we had the log burner going to. The scenery nearby is beautiful. Would definitely stay again, thanks Peter!

  • We had a really nice time, the accommodation was as advertised, clean, and comfortable. The fire / heater gave it a really nice touch in the dark winter nights, and Settle is also a lovely place to stay and take in the views, or venture out for a walk. The nearby Gordale Scar is just a short drive away and is well worth a visit!

    Tom2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The barn conversion is well done, really cosy, stylishly decorated and well equipped for preparing meals. A great place to stay whatever the time of year, has a lovely small outside area which would be great in warm weather. Yorkshire is a beautiful county and the people are so friendly. Settle has a couple of pubs and nice bars, choice of pub food, recently opened tapas place and an amazing Indian to eat in or takeaway. We parked in the town, generally it's difficult to park in Settle as it was never meant for cars. That's not a criticism it's just so people know. Definitely would recommend.

  • Great place to stay. Versatile, pleasant surrounding. Ideal for visiting Settle or embarking on the 3 peaks challenge!

    Andrew2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • In a picturesque spot near the top of the village of Settle. Amazing views from the balcony. Space nicely laid out to allow my family of 6 to spread out. You have to sort out street parking on some narrow streets or park down below in town if desired, but we never found it to be difficult.

    Sheref2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great space! We stayed here as a couple, and it still felt nice and cosy even though it sleeps up to 7. The balcony is a lovely spot to enjoy your morning coffee, and the views are incredible. The parking space was a little tight, but we soon got used to it. I imagine it would be difficult with a bigger car though. The town is a very short walk down a steep hill, and has some lovely little cafes, pubs and antique shops to visit. We loved the decor of this place, and the bed was very comfy! We’ll definitely be back to stay again some time!

  • This cottage is beautiful, in a great central location. Finding parking nearby was not an issue, as the roads are narrow and steep. We spent 3 nights here, it was very cold. But the cottage is so cosy with the log burner on. We would definitely return to the nook.

    Lisa2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely 3 nights in the cottage. It is a good size for a couple, and nice and comfortable. The wood burner gets it warm nice and quickly too. It is on a very narrow street as in the description, but parking was never a problem. Settle was a perfect base for exploring the Dales too.

  • We loved our stay at the cottage and wished we could have stayed longer.

    Mary2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic cottage in a perfect location, we only stayed for 1 night and didn't want to leave. The cottage was cosy and homely, made even more so by the log burner. The cottage also had everything you could need. Jez's was fantastic with all the questions we had and very quick to respond, even the little touch of making sure the heating was on for when we arrived made it feel very welcoming.

Our newly converted cottage is located 50 yards from the centre of Settle which has a excellent range of restaurants, pubs and shops. The location, although central, is only yards from the National Park with stunning walks from the front door. Registry Cottage has 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a modern bathroom. The lounge/kitchen is on the first floor, which makes the most of the great views. There is also a relaxed seated mezzanine area. We are dog friendly.
The large upstairs space is vaulted with very tall windows bringing in masses of light. Above the kitchen there is a mezzanine area with two large armchairs and table with games, great for kids to do their own thing or adults to relax. The bedrooms are both very cosy and comfortable, the master bedroom has a comfortable chair for reading. The cottage (converted from the towns registry office) with all it's interesting features has been a real labour of love and we are extremely proud of it. N. B. During this difficult period we have altered our cleaning regime to pay extra attention (using disinfectant and steam cleaners) to areas that are touched regularly, such as doorknobs, drawer pulls, the toilet flush lever, faucet handles, remote controls, light switches, seating areas, etc. We have also supplied the cottage with plenty of tissue, disposable paper towels and hand soap. If there are any additional safeguards you require please don't hesitate to contact us.
  • Super space extremely well located in the middle of Settle. 50 metres from Talbot pub that does good filling dinners useful after a days walking. The flat has a feeling of space and is well equipped. Would go again if we can find the time.

Will definitely be back !

  • We visited Sunnyside cottage for a long weekend, we had an amazing time - would recommend to anyone! It has been decorated so beautifully inside, the cottage was so well presented and you can clearly see that a lot of thought has gone into the whole place. The coffee machine and Alexa were additional extras that we loved, as well as the hot tub! Barbon village is lovely as well, on Lee & Richard’s recommendation we booked in for the Friday night bistro evening at The Churchmouse which was fab - definitely worth a visit! We will definitely be back to Barbon!

  • What a beautiful cottage to spend a romantic weekend in! Everything we could have hoped for had been provided. I loved the mix of the modern and old features in what was a very cosy space. Our only regret was not staying another night. We would fully recommend staying here and would love to come back another time in the near future. Also Barbon, is a wonderful little village with very welcoming locals.

  • We had an absolutely incredible stay at Sunnyside Cottage - it was everything we could have imagined and more. It is a beautiful, peaceful space with luxury amenities and the most thoughtful touches. Everything we could have possibly needed for a perfect, relaxing getaway was right there. Lee and Richard are brilliant hosts - on hand to answer any questions or help if required. The hot tub and bath tub were luxury additions which made the stay extra special, not to mention the most comfortable bed and luxury linen and towels. We loved absolutely everything ... can it recommend Sunnyside cottage enough!!

  • Amazing, stunning, tranquil, escape to the countryside. We feel truly lucky to have stumbled across this absolute gem! Even ended up booking an extra night because we didn’t want to leave! Great hosts fast responses and beautiful decor throughout. The bed is the comfiest I’ve stayed in I struggled to get out! Stunning fire place, bath, walk in shower and hot tub are just some of the amazing features. If you’re hesitating to book just do it I would 100% return without hesitation.

The decor in the cottage us absolutely gorgeous, the bathroom especially. Chilled nights in the hot tub followed by cozying up on front of the log burner. Barbon is such a cute little village and the local pub is only a 5 minute stroll away which we loved. Highly recommend a stay at Sunnyside we will definitely be back!

A warm welcome to my recently renovated Old School House in the wonderful tranquil and picturesque village of Newby, Clapham perfectly situated for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, the Forest of Bowland and within an hour of the Lake District
I have spent the last year renovating the Old School House in Newby - the original floors and beams have been brought back to life. I previously lived in Settle and my family have had a house in the Yorkshire Dales since 1930. The Old School House is in a wonderful location - very private at the top of the village with far reaching views. The room has a double bed and comfy chairs, with french doors opening to a private outside seating area. There is freshly ground coffee and teas available as well as a fridge, kettle and a table to enjoy breakfast. Within a few miles there is award winning sourdough bread, a cheese shop and an organic cooperative with wonderful fresh salads and fruit. A 6 mile walk directly from the house takes you to the top of Ingleborough - one of the famous 3 Peaks.
It is a quiet and peaceful village with the wonderful Goat Gap Cafe to enjoy. The house is walking distance to a pub and village shop (Clapham).
  • The apartment was so well furnished with thoughtful touches, we were very impressed. It is a perfect location for walking, sightseeing and dining. We very much look forward to returning to enjoy again.

  • This was an amazingly clean and stylish place to stay. The location is great for exploring the Dales, and Sarah was an amazing host. We will definitely stay here again!

    Roya2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect place. Very private with your own door in and out feels like an individual apartment. Beautiful surroundings and very stylish inside with a very cosy, and homely atmosphere. The host is very nice and friendly and helpful with quick communication when messaging. Thanks would definitely recommend.

  • A beautiful, homely apartment in a wonderful location. I only had one night there but would have loved more. If by chance your mobile provider is O2, I had no signal at all so write directions down beforehand.

    Anne2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location, amazing stylish and cosy accomodation. Loved the little touches. The door wasn't easy to find at first, you just need to go in the gate and round the back. Despite the weather Sarah gave us some ideas of what to do. Perfect location for walks and pubs (Malham cove is a must). We didn't have a problem getting around with the car. Thanks Sarah! Will hopefully be back again one day!

Recently voted as one the best places to live in the North West in the Times. This is a lovely little room in the village is Kirkby Lonsdale. Ten minutes walk from the local village which offers shops, bars, views of Ruskins View. Close to the Yorkshire Dales and National Park’s Of the Lake District. There is a shared kitchen for tea and coffee and a continental breakfast can be provided if required. A stones throw away from the rugby club and parking immediately in front of the house.
The bedroom is full access to guests. There may sometimes be some drawers with my nieces clothes in but this will be noted. Kitchen can be used for tea and coffee making and if required at an extra cost the washing machine for lengthy stays. Note well; due to recent comment regarding the size of the bedroom. The bed is a double bed and the room is my second room so slightly smaller but you are welcome to be around the house and the majority of the time I am away with work so the space is yours. Please also note that the bedroom itself is quite basic. It is a high quality mattress with memory foam top but it is just a room as per listing with a shared bathroom area to avoid any confusion if people aren’t reading the whole amenities. I am also limited to garden space as a recent guest was disappointed with the outside not having somewhere to sit. However I advertise a room only and i am on the edge of lots of lovely outside spaces in the lakes and the Yorkshire dales and a ten minute walk from the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale itself. Please see update photos of actual road due to recent review regarding the location with nearby houses. The place itself is friendly and I am regularly out so generally speaking guests have access to the whole house. Free wi fi available so you can access tv on laptops and tablets. Please note as per listing there is no tv in the room but feel free to watch tv in the lounge. This has been updated to reflect recent comments to add clarity and if there are any queries for your stay ahead of booking please advise.
Several small bars and fine dining or pub grub. Within half hour drive of Windermere, 45 minutes from Keswick and the edge of the lakes. Ten minutes from ingleton and Yorkshire Dales.
  • Great host & excellent communication. Location wise Ella's place was great..5/10 min walk to the town with its beautiful scenery, pubs and cafes. The house is cosy and spotlessly clean. We enjoyed watching a movie in the evening. Ella and her partner are really friendly. Perfect stay X

    Mark2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at Ella's lovely home. Both Ella and her home are warm and friendly. She was the perfect host and could not do enough to make my stay a really lovely time. Definitely one Id recommend.

    Paul2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Ella is a fantastic host! Her communication before and during my stay (should I need anything) was outstanding. The bedroom is cosy and the bed very comfortable! The location is fantastic for access to the national park and the local town is a short walk away. I would most certainly stay here again!

    Tim2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • I was not disappointed, communication was excellent, accommodation met the needs of my one night stay. Had a pleasant evening chat with Ella, found we shared some common themes. I'd definately stay again if my work took me again to Kirkby Lonsdale.

    Steve2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, cozy and modern atmosphere. Very nice and friendly hostess. Good location, very quiet and 10 minutes walk to the village.

    Barbara2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • I decided to base my short stay in The North (just two days, far too short of course) at Kirkby Lonsdale as it appeaed to centrally located for excursions both into the Lakes and the Dales, whcih indeed it is. But the immediate countryside, Lonsdale and the Loon valley, are also beautiful and, as is so much the case up there, a totally different landscape. Ella's house is perfectly located just a five minute walk from Kirkby town centre (where parking is absolutely impossible!) which has enough to keep yu busy even when the weather isn't suitabke for walking in the countryside ... the house is cosy, really really well decorated and immaculately clean - I loved the array of breakfast goodies. Ellas's local nowledge is superb and she's wonderfully helpful. A few days away from a hectic 'freinds and family' week helped make my trip to the UK the great success it was. Thanks Ella!

    Simon2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ella's cottage was perfect for my stay whilst I was visiting my elderly mum in Kirby. The room was comfy and had everything I needed and the shower was great. Ella left a nice selection of breakfast goodies and tea and coffee. The location is perfect for walking into town. A great little home from home. Thanks Ella.

    Gill2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Ella's Airbnb is located at Kirkby Konsdale, a very lovely small town, and is just a 30 to 40mins drive to Lake District. Ella was prompt in replying and provided us many options for dinning. While the room may be a tad small, it does provide a good night rest for the next day. Breakfast was ready the night before for us to have it early the very next day. We definetly recommend Ella's Airbnb to all.

  • The cottage is located in a quiet village near to a wonderful pub. The house is located close to Kirkby Lonsdale with shops, pubs, bars and restuarants as well as being close by to lots of local hikes and sights. The cottage was quiet and peaceful with tasteful decor, high end fixtures and extremely comfortable beds. These hosts had thought of everything and we were greeted with a lovely welcome hamper on arrival which was such a nice touch. Overall, an incredible location, beautiful cottage and superb hosts.

  • An absolutely fantastic find, there is nothing I could fault about our stay. Paul's communication up front and throughout was thorough and helpful and the cottage itself is beautiful. Impeccably clean and appointed to an impressively high standard. Some really nice touches like a welcome hamper and milk in the fridge made it even more special. Brilliant value for money and I'd return in a heartbeat. Super pub next door too! Thanks!!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at The Shippon. It was cosy, well equipped and an excellent location for exploring the local area and sights. Margaret was prompt with her communication and hospitable in providing a travel cot for our young son. We highly recommend a stay at The Shippon for anyone wanting to explore the Yorkshire Dales.

  • Well-presented, warm, clean, and cosy place. We set off from there to explore the peaks around Horton. Margaret was very prompt with messaging and flexible with check-in. Despite the remoteness of the location, her clear instructions meant that we found it straight away despite the dark. The place was perfect for out weekend break. Plenty of space for 3 people, and can easily fit 4. Modern amenities and wifi connection, with good value for money.

  • The previous reviews were exactly as our experience. Skye was accommodating, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Her home is beautiful, a mountain paradise a mile or so from Ingleton, so we were close enough to eat out and have a leisurely walk back (we didn’t drive there). The bedroom and bathroom were gorgeous, warm, clean and quiet. On several occasions Skye went out of her way to help us out, and these are the gestures that make an experience memorable. Thank you Skye.

    Harriet2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Skye’s house is idyllic. Situated on the Ingleton waterfall trail it makes a perfect base for walking. The room is stunning with a large ensuite bathroom, including a free standing bath. The room is well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities and a well stocked bathroom! Skye was very welcoming and communication was quick and easy both prior to arrival and during our stay. Skye gave us lots of local recommendations of where to visit and eat. We ate at Number Nine, Kirkby Lonsdale, which we would highly recommend, great food and a nice vibe. Would highly recommend Skye’s place to anyone planning to stay in the area!

    Emma2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Skye, what a true pleasure it was to stay a few days at your superb home in the hills. Tina and I genuinely enjoyed our few days in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Although we were out and about most of the time, your warm hospitality and adventurous character meant that whenever we bumped into you, it was really fun to catch up. Your local knowledge was really helpful and it helped to make this a truly memorable short break. Your house is truly charming and the location is an absolute dream for hikers and runners.

    Robert2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in Skye’s lovely Airbnb room. Very cosy room with a beautiful bathroom. Great location for walking with the waterfall walk right on the doorstep!

    Lucy2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed in some amazing places with Airbnb and Skye's place is no exception. A thoughtfully restored farm building in a beautiful location the accommodation is of high quality and exceptional taste. The home is approached by a well maintained tarmac road through fields, a mile away from the village which added to our experience and enjoyment of the views. An ideal centre for walking in the area, some walks could be accessed right from the front door. Skye was a perfect host, ready to help and advise as we needed. The bedroom was roomy and led directly to a superb bathroom. Another great experience - thank you Skye and Airbnb!

  • The directions from the owners led us exactly to the barn. Lovely stylish space, very comfortable bed with plenty of fresh towels. The little electric fire made the barn so cosy at night time when cuddling up on the sofa. The location is right in town with local bars and shops just a few minutes walk away. Would highly recommend, owners gave local tips about where to eat amongst other things. Great communication. Hope to visit again x

  • Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and in Bentham. It's a great spot to use as a base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and Forest of Bowland, and the room was cozy, clean and comfortable. I also appreciated the tips, guidebooks and maps to hike up Ingleborough, which is only a 20-minute drive away. Jane was quick and accurate in her communication, check-in was easy, and I would highly recommend a stay here.

  • A very pleasant property and location. My son and I finished the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge back at Horton in Ribblesdale then made the short (20 minute journey) to high Bentham. The vicarage is a lovely home and the top floor is for air BnB guests. The twin was very comfortable and clean and the bathroom is very close by (a good shower was perfect after our exertions). Breakfast was excellent and Jane bought Soya milk for me specially as I am vegan. All good!

This is an open plan cottage with 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed. It will easily sleep 4 but 6 if using the sofa bed. This is an over-dwelling with it’s own front door on the second floor of a three story 1800 century cottage. The views are spectacular as they look over the valley and river Greta.
The cottage is ideal for couples, walkers or families. There is a large park with a grass football pitch, Astro turfed tennis court, bowling green, children’s playground and a range of adult outdoor fitness equipment. There is a recently planted orchard with picnic tables by the river for the community to use.
Burton in Lonsdale is a lovely little village in the Yorkshire Dales. In the village there is a good pub that serves food and a village shop that is run and owned by the locals. The village is situated in an ideal place for visiting the three peaks and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the north west seaside towns of Heysham and Morcambe and the Lake District. If driving it is: 8 mins away from Ingleton, which has the waterfalls walk and the summer lido. 10/15 mins away from the market town of Kirby Lonsdale, which has a fabulously stocked Booths supermarket. It takes around 30 mins to get to the coast of Heysham/Morcambe and 30 mins to get to Windermere and Lancaster.
  • Absolutely great place to stay. Probably one of the best we've stayed at. The space worked so well. Loads of games there. All the essentials that you need in a kitchen (we did bring our own, but needn't have), oils, tea, coffee, herbs and spices. Some places restrict the heating, but Maria left that up to us. Ipod and docking station, with great play lists for chilling to. Perfect location for us - countryside, hills, rivers and streams, quiet, no need to use a car once you're here. Great local community run shop, at really reasonable prices (unlike a lot in the Dales /Lakes, which can be overpriced. - and what a great range of produce - no need to go to the big shops! And Maria was so helpful around us checking in. Couldn't have found anywhere better. We'll definitely be going back.

  • A fantastic find. Beautiful home in a stunning location, I could have stayed in the bath solely for 3 days! Comfortable bed, sofas and seats, fully equipped kitchen, heating was easy to use, and great for both adults and kids. It was just me and my boyfriend this time round but we would gladly return with friends or family. Amazing views from the windows too - we could have sat there all day. Pub conveniently a stumble around the corner and a well stocked post office and shop a minute away should you need it. The village is a lovely wander but also not far away from various beauty spots to explore. Check in was extremely easy and Maria’s communication was second to none - we cannot wait to return. Xx

  • Such a lovely place to spend a couple of days relaxing as a family. All the extra touches such as travel cot and high chair meant that we could pack a little lighter than usual. In an ideal location for visiting ingleton and plenty of information provided on lots more to do close by. Maria was a really helpful host. We really enjoyed our stay.

  • Maria’s place is PERFECT. It was such a brilliant get-away for a group of busy, exhausted mums’ who fancied a nice walk and a roll-top bath in peace. We will definitely be returning to this little sanctuary! x

  • This was my first experience of making a booking via Air BnB. To say it was faultless would be an understatement. The location is breathtaking and we’ve fallen in love. All modern amenities and facilities in a setting that takes you away from it all. Truly a place to get away from it all and ‘Kill your TV!” Just don’t delete the play list on the iPod! There is everything you need and more. Communication was excellent. Facilities outstanding. Directions and access superb. Do not hesitate in making a booking here if you want to get away for a day or two. Very close to Kendal, Lancaster and the Lakes. We WILL be back. The host even put up a Xmas tree for us to enjoy as a family. Thanks Maria and family for sharing your little spot of Heaven.

There is so much to do around that you can easily stay few days. During our 3 night stay Jan's advice/recommendations were priceless. And make sure you try her home made jams at breakfast.

  • Jan has a lovely house, clean, tidy and a great shower. I was allowed to use the kitchen to prepare a meal, there is a large dinning table and a sofa downstairs for guests. Jan was very helpful and accommodating. She provided a map of Settle and gave tips for eating out and places to visit. She even got full fat yougart just for me! A wonderful host in a lovely house right in the centre of Settle. I highly recommend a stay at Jans.

Superb restored cottage on the cobbled main street with great views to Rise Hill & Coombe Scar. Well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher & washing machine.
Dentdale is on the west side of The Yorkshire Dales National Park, there are two real ale pubs in the village, both serve food. There are coffee shops/cafes open in the daytime & The Heritage Centre - dedicated to the history of Dentdale. Windermere & The Lakes are under an hours drive away.
  • We had a fantastic stay at Sunnyside. The cottage was clean and cosy, and comfortably big enough for 3 adults. It was perfectly located to explore Dentdale, will definitely stay here again.

  • What a lovely cottage. Central for pubs and cafes. Really well laid out and thought out. Would highly recommend!!!

  • This would have to be one of the best Airbnb stays I've had. The cottage is clean, cosy and adorable. The kitchen has everything you need, the beds are super comfortable and you don't even have to go without wifi or bluetooth speakers. And the location! The cottage is nestled into a cobbled street and close to cafes, pubs and scenic walks and drives in the Dales. Who could ask for more?

PLEASE NOTE: the house is only available for essential use until 31 May. The Garden House is small but perfectly formed. It is however a lovely place to spend a night or two in the Yorkshire Dales.. it's also just a short walk from Giggleswick and Settle. One room living with plenty of charm, ideal for a single person, a couple or 3 friends (a bit like a bunk barn, but more comfy).
The green oak frame building started life as my shed, but now has a heated stone floor, cosy bed deck, mini kitchen, shower "room" and composting loo (it doesn't smell!) The bed deck has a double bed and there's a day bed on the ground floor. It is basic, but does have everything you need to spend a weekend in the Dales. The bed deck, WC and kitchen are in the eves.. but what the place lacks in size it makes up for in charm.
The house is at the end of a quite road, direct access to the fells or a few minutes walk in to Giggleswick or Settle
  • We had such a lovely stay at David’s cabin. The place was clean, tidy and exactly as described. It was a short walk into Settle to the cosy cafes and shops, or a little pub just around the corner. A great little weekend escape!

    Helena2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • As they say small things come in small packages ...the Tiny House is just that! Tiny! but is just perfect for a cheeky escape to Yorkshire Dales ..

    Paul2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, cosy and well thought out dwelling, everything you need in a compact space with a very friendly host and stunning surroundings.

    William2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I booked with David at his Garden House in relative short notice, literally within the space of a few hours of booking and travelling there. Amazing and prompt communication to arrange the booking. The house itself is so idyllic, such a creative way of making a small amount of space into something quirky and relaxing, I felt at home as soon as I arrived. Situated perfectly just out of Settle but very easy to find (even in the dark ha) . Will definitely be booking again! 👍

    David2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely and cosy cabin with more space than others that we have stayed in of a similar type. You have to be fairly mobile and able-bodied to use the ladder but we managed it fine. Great accommodation which we would book again if we needed to be in the area.

    Laura2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming little home from home. Highly recommend

Pretty stone cottage on the outside - modern interior and superfast broadband on the inside. Idyllic country setting with only the sheep and birds in view. Self-catering cottage that's perfect for 2 adults who want a quiet bolt-hole in a truly beautiful location. Sofabed can sleep extra person if required and travel cot also available for baby.
All on one level but step at front door. Modern shower-room. Living/dining/kitchen combined. Great superking-size bed in bedroom but can be split into two singles - just ask in advance and I'll make up whichever format you like. Small double sofabed in living area for one extra adult or child. (Maximum of 3 guests permitted + infant under 2). Travel cot also available (best for pre-climbing age baby) + high chair etc. Very well fitted kitchen area with oven, hob, microwave, fridge and freezer. Full CH but also cosy 'log-burner' effect electric fire. Smart TV hooked up to superfast broadband with Freeview and catch-up. Free superfast wi-fi. Own patio area with garden furniture + you can store bikes/walking gear/mucky stuff in our shed. Cottage looks out on small fenced paddock which you can enjoy as you choose (games! doggy exercise! sheep-watching! star-gazing...!) Car parking space. Well behaved dog welcome - please bring own dog-bed and gear, and promise to keep pooch off all furniture. But we should warn you there is a light coloured carpet we'd like to keep clean so there's a 'muddy boot cupboard' right by the front door. Thanks!
Fabulous walking or cycling from the door in Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the edge of the Trough of Bowland - a hidden gem of an area often overlooked due to its more famous neighbours the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District - but with easy access to both. Horse-riding available locally, great local country pubs with pub-grub within 1-2 miles. Peace, quiet, birdsong, absolutely no traffic noise and no light pollution in our hamlet - but only 15 mins drive from J34 of M6 - and 20 mins into centre of Lancaster with all the history and culture a city offers. We are 1m outside Wray village which has a shop/Post Office, pub and lovely riverside tea-shop/garden centre. Walkable in 20 mins from Garden Cottage.

  • A lovely quiet place. Nothing by the sound of birds and the nearby river. Janet was super helpful at settling us in during awful weather!

    Sarah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Although I had to cancel my stay at Garden Cottage due to being unwell my communication with Janet while making the booking was great. She was very accommodating to my needs - just a shame I couldn't get there

    Jennifer2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely little cottages. Perfect for a break to get away and chill out for a few days. There are two great pubs 25 mins and and 35 mins away which are both nice walks. Janet and John are both excellent hosts, quick to respond to any messages, have excellent local knowledge and very friendly. Thanks!

    Andrew2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely chill out spot, nestled away on the edge of the forest of bowland and Yorkshire dales. The cottage was nice and warm upon arrival and Janet had catered for all our needs with a young baby and dogs. A perfect little getaway for us, just wish we had stayed longer! We will 100% be back!

    Luke2020-01-04T00:00:00Z

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Janet's cottage which is in an ideal location. We loved having the paddock right next to the house and also enjoyed all the blankets and smart tv for a comfy night in after being on the go all day! Janet was very welcoming and helpful and was always very prompt in responding to messages. This cottage is a great find!

Nestled amidst the stunning countryside of the Forest of Bowland and the Yorkshire Dales, the Barn is the perfect romantic getaway for couples to relax and unwind. An open plan ground floor with traditional flagged floor and shaker-style kitchen with granite worktops. An eclectic blend of modern and retro furniture gives this characterful barn a luxurious feel. From the window enjoy views over farmland stretching almost as far as the eye can see towards Ingleborough and Pen-Y-Ghent.
Fire up the log-burning stove, rustle up a meal on the double oven/grill and have a frothy coffee snuggling on the sofa to watch TV or a DVD. On warm evenings step out into the private, walled garden, put some charcoal on the barbeque and dine al-fresco listening to the gentle sounds of the stream – the perfect end to a day out in the Dales. At the end of the day, sink into the comfy, super king sized bed and maybe do some dark sky star gazing! Refreshed and ready for the day, your bathroom is superbly fitted with a walk-in shower, bath and large vanity unit; soft, fluffy towels and a hairdryer are provided. As you prepare to start the day take in the picture-postcard views over glorious farmland and then breakfast on the patio whilst you plan your day with the selection of maps and books provided. Wifi is available free of charge.
Eldroth House is a superb stone built property in the idyllic rural village of Eldroth. It is close to the market town of Settle, and is perfectly placed for exploring the beauty of the Forest of Bowland, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. The Forest of Bowland is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Eldroth House is situated in open countryside with views of Pen Y Ghent and Ingleborough, and makes an ideal base for the Yorkshire Three Peaks Walks or pedalling part of the route of the 2016 Tour de Yorkshire! The House is within easy access of the cities of Lancaster, Leeds and York and is just a short drive from the historic towns of Skipton, Clitheroe and Kirkby Lonsdale.
  • A perfect stay in the gorgeous Barn in Eldroth. A home from home! Absolutely stunning home with beautiful views and finished to an extremely high standard. The barn was immaculate throughout, a huge, comfortable bed and pristine bedding. Cosy, warm and quiet. We can not recommend highly enough. We loved everything and would definitely stay again! Thank you.

  • A lovely place to stay in Yorkshire.

    Joel2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say about The Barn that hasn’t been said already? It has been by far the most perfect Air Bnb experience we have ever had. Warm and comfortable with all the amenities you need. Jill is a wonderful host - always at hand when we had a question. The Barn is in a great location, just a 15 min drive into Settle (where there are plenty of pubs and shops - we also picked up a lovely Indian one night) and more importantly close to outstanding views and walks in the North Yorkshire countryside. We just loved every minute. Can’t wait to book again. Thank you!

  • Fantastic place, warm and very well kitted out. Good location for walking in the dales and meeting old friends.

    Peter2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jill and John have made considerable effort to create a comfortable and stylish barn conversion. We immediately felt at home and a bit spoilt! A nice surprise was to look out in the evenings and see lots of stars in this dark sky location. Within a short drive are great places to see in both the Forest of Bowland AONB and the Yorkshire Dales national park. We also appreciated the stream that runs through the garden. As a couple, we had everything we needed for a relaxing couple of days.

    John2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely, cosy place to stay. We felt at home immediately and would love to visit again at some point. The barn is very clean and full of lovely extra touches.

  • We had a lovely stay here with our two kids. The hosts were great: a light was out, they fixed it the next day; we left an item behind, they kindly posted it out to us. It was clean, well equipped and lots to keep us entertained inside if the weather was bad (which thankfully it wasn’t). We made equally good use of the board games and local walks guide. We went to Malham Cove and up to the Wensleydale Creamery at Hawes, both of which I would recommend. Beautiful part of the world, lovely little cottage. What’s not to like?
