“General market – Monday, Friday and Saturday, 9am to 4pm Chesterfield market has become one of the biggest open-air markets in the area, selling everything from cutlery to carpets, from shirts to shoes, from pans to potatoes. Whatever you want to buy, there’s a stall selling it somewhere – it’s just a matter of finding it among all the stalls packed into the town centre. Flea Market – Thursday, 9am to 4pm Rummage among the stalls to find yourself a bargain. You never know what might be on sale secondhand – a piece of Pearson’s pottery, Goss crested china, vintage jewellery and clothes, and a range of collectables. The flea market is growing every year and fast becoming one of the big”

“This building houses a gorgeous antiques shop on two floors (as well as outside). And nestled in the back is a really lovely little tea room which is perfect for breakfasts, lunches and tea and cake. They do a cake 'tapas' (which is really just 6 full-sized portions of cake!) - a big hit with my husband. Their selection of loose-leaf teas is really good and some unusual ones in there. The Early Grey is one of my favourites and my favourite lunch item is the Derbyshire Oatcake with tuna and cheese. Oatcakes are a local speciality and must be tried while in the area!”

“Tiny little place nestled in a little cobbled square of shops and cafes down a little cobbled path from the town centre. Tasty, home cooked organic food. One of the first places Adam and I ate when we were checking Chesterfield out as a place to live. ”
