Beautiful mountain home on 40 secluded acres in the rolling hills. Located between the Royal Gorge and Salida, adventure is in every direction. There are trails on the property and the Arkansas River is two miles by car. Gold Medal trout fishing and white water rafting make the Arkansas River a perfect destination. Winter: 38 miles to Monarch Mountain for downhill skiing, snowmobiling, or dog sled rides. We have multiple sizes of snowshoes. Ask for fun hikes- on the property or around Salida!
The house has two bedrooms and two baths, with a sofa sleeper in the living room. King tempurpedic mattress downstairs and queen tempurpedic upstairs. Main floor has open layout with kitchen, dining and living room all open. Bedroom and bathroom are separate. Upstairs bedroom has open stairway (think loft but not as open) and private bath. Screened-in porch upstairs and large patio downstairs. Hot tub is outside with mountain views. Full kitchen with dishes and dishwasher. Laundry room with washer and dryer. Gas BBQ grill on back patio and horizontal smoker available for the more ambitious.
Centrally located between the Royal Gorge and the vibrant town of Salida. Hiking, rafting, fishing and relaxing are our main attractions.
  • Rick & Tracy's place is amazing. I and my wife enjoyed so much. Google can find the place without any problems. Rick and Tracy are also nice and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay so much. Next time when we visit Buena Vista or Great Sand Dune National Park, we will definitely stay there again. Thank you guys so much!

  • Words and pictures do not do this place justice! It’s absolutely gorgeous. Every window has breathtaking views of the mountains and stars. We loved how homey and secluded it was, but still close enough to get to town to enjoy lots of fun things. And no day went by without a soak in the hot tub. Rick was a wonderful host and provided snow shoes and sleds for our use. We hope to return soon!

  • Absolutely fantastic!!

  • The most amazing airbnb experience I've had

    Kyle2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best Air Bnb that I have stayed at. Rick was an excellent host and the property was outstanding.

    Trevor2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great at place to get away from it all. My family of 4 enjoyed 6 nights in this home and it was awesome. There is plenty of private land for on-site hiking and the best view. Locates close to Arkansas River for rafting and fishing and close to Monarch Mountain for skiing. We'll be back in late summer for some fun in the sun!

    Dominick2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Probably the best AirBnB we’ve ever stayed at; top to bottom. It’s a beautiful home with breathtaking views, and ample trails to explore and hike around the property. Then you can relax in the hot tub. You’re tucked away from everyone and can really get away from it all here. The best part was the amazing hospitality from Rick and Tracy. They are very kind people. They greeted us with the most delicious banana bread, and were so helpful from when we booked through when we left for anything we needed. Can’t recommend highly enough.

    Nick2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • The space was terrific but the view really does put it over the top! And if you think the mountains were the most amazing part, you're wrong. On a clear night, the stars were spectacular and unbelievable. Plus the banana bread that they made for us was delicious and such a sweet touch. Definitely would recommend and return 💛

  • Cute spot along the Arkansas River. Cafe had good road food as well.

    Jennifer2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay for a night, wish we would've made it earlier to enjoy the river. Had the basics and that's all we were after! Thanks!

    Kyle2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is an incredible location along the Arkansas river. Make sure you have good directions (Google maps failed me). This was my first time in a pop-up camper, and I am glad I tried it.

    Andy2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • very comfortable for weary travellers and so beautiful that it makes you wish you had planned an extra day to enjoy the river and get a meal at the cafe.

    Brenda2019-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • We contacted Rhitt when we arrived a bit earlier than expected and he welcomed us to come ahead. Marlyn had turned on the air conditioner and left a key for us and we were set. Unfortunately our phone service was not great, but wifi helped, and Rhitt provided his landline for us to make a call to our daughter who was meeting us. The room was clean, the linens and towels soft and comfortable. We were happy for a coffee maker and microwave and fridge. This place is conveniently located for sites in the area including whitewater rafting, the Royal Gorge, and Salida. We took several motorcycle tours while we were there and enjoyed those as well. I highly recommend this place.

    Nanette2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Marilyn was the host during our stay and she was wonderful. Very friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. She even had extra special treats for our dog and our toddler. We will definitely return whenever we are in the Arkansas River area.

Stay in a 2015 Airstream International whom we affectionately call, Judy. She is located in Sugarbush Campground in a premium spot. Surrounded by ponderous pines, spruce and fir trees, sitting aside a babbling brook running through the property this is the perfect base for your Arkansas River Valley adventures! We have lived in Judy for two years before purchasing Sugarbush Campground in Spring of 2017. Very cozy and surprisingly spacious for a 25' trailer with impeccable design.
A small living area/dining table in the front folds down into a deep couch or a twin sized bed. There are 2 T'V's, one in the living area and one in the rear bedroom. Judy has a Clarion surround sound bluetooth/USB port/DVD-BluRay, speakers in the front and back. We are leaving our library of DVD/BluRays for your enjoyment. We have provided kitchen utensils and cookware you may need during your stay. There is a refrigerator and freezer, three burner propane stove with oven and vent fan. A coffee maker and filters are stocked. Shower, toliet and bathroom sink are in Judy. You will find hotel quality bedding and towels along with shampoo, conditioner and shower wash. We have Elemente, a local handmade Salida line, hand soap and lotion products. There is a "queen" sized bed, the corners of the mattress are rounded so this isn't a true queen. Plenty of storage for your belongings. The climate control system; air conditioning, furnace and heat pump. We live at Sugarbush Campground so we are available at any time if questions come up. We will do a walk through to introduce you to Judy and make sure you are comfortable. We provide a fire pit, picnic table, and two outdoor chairs with a small table. We offer RV & tent sites at Sugarbush if you would like to reserve a spot for a larger group. Sugarbush Campground is located 13 miles east of Salida and minutes from away from numerous outdoor activities.
Judy is situated in our campground, Sugarbush Campground. www.sugarbushco.com
  • We had a great experience staying in the Airstream without the hassle of towing and setup etc. that comes with owning your own rv. It is comfortable and modern and very clean in a nice setting. Wish we could have stayed longer!

    Susan2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay and would stay again in the future.

    David2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The camper is in the back of the campground, away from other campers, which is a nice touch. It was a quiet location surrounded by trees. The site has a picnic table, fire pit and a small table in between 2 chairs. The camper is clean and has everything you need including heat and A/C. It is a great place to get away and decompress.

  • This is a perfect place to glamp, will not disappoint

    Frank2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I enjoyed our time at Judy. There was plenty of space for both of us, The little boutique campground was fantastic and it was wonderful being able to cook and eat in Judy. Great launching pad for hiking and other Salida activities.

    Michael2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing stay. The location and the airstream are a perfect base camp for exploring the San Isabel forest. We had absolutely everything we needed! We will definitely stay here again.

    Rachael2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for a great experience in the airstream. Totally want to do it again! Love “glamping.”

    Heide2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very much enjoyed our stay in Judy. Lily was easily accessible when we had questions. We've never stayed in an Airstream and loved the experience. There is more storage than you'd think and we very much enjoyed exploring all the nuances the space had to offer, of which the bluetooth stereo system in front and back is a big plus. Watching and listening to the adjacent burbling stream was great. Warming up to the provided fire pit (yes even in the summer!) helped round out the day. Whether you're knowledgable about Airstreams or not, you'll come away satisfied with your stay.

  • The perfect getaway to gaze on the mountains and take in the scenery. Paul’s place has so many details to walk around and take in, including several antiques and beautiful artwork. If you go for a walk, there are beautiful horses down the street. We also saw a buck at sunset. Paul is a fantastic host who’s happy to help with anything and his place is truly a gem.

  • If you’re looking for a peaceful and quiet getaway in the mountains, this is the Airbnb for you. Paul’s home is filled with incredible art and sentimental touches that will blow your mind. We especially enjoyed his stained glass, vinyl collection and the view of the mountain range from the bedroom window. HIGHLY recommend!

    Charisse2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's place is located in one of the most scenic spots in Colorado. The views from his property are amazing, as is his wonderfully eclectic home. Filled with beautiful artwork, instruments, historical artifacts, it is like staying in a museum. Paul loves to interact with guests and has amazing stories! We really enjoyed our stay with him, and wish it could have been longer. The bedroom was very comfortable, and we were treated to a lovely eggs & coffee breakfast. We highly recommend his place as a truly unique Airbnb experience!

  • This really is more than just a room. Paul's beautiful home is tucked away at the base of the Sangre de Cristo mountains (you get a spectacular view from bed). Only 20 minutes from Salida, it's the perfect getaway with beautiful decor and design (the clawfoot tub is to die for and the bed is so cozy!!) and Paul has really thought through all of the little details to make your stay really special. We will definitely stay again!

    Allie2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space in a breathtakingly beautiful setting. Paul is a fantastic host as well. I would definitely return!

    Dan2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The best Airbnb I’ve been to. Such interesting and thoughtful decorations and so many little amenities everywhere. Paul has great taste and he’s an interesting guy. Definitely recommend.

    Derek2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We decided last minute to stay at Paul’s place and we are SO HAPPY we chose Paul as a host! He is a lovely and energetic person who spends his days making art and collecting antique things to decorate his terrific house. You can have long pleasant conversations with Paul whilst sitting on his sunlit porch. You literally wake up with a mountain view from your bed (very comfy btw!). You have a whole bathroom to yourself with a victorian bath and huge shower. I will DEFINITELY come back to Paul and his place if we’re ever nearby again! Thanks for all Paul.

Backpackers and tent campers welcome for now. Maybe some smaller campers, I did clear out a nice camper spot with views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. No actual building on the property so come and enjoy Nature in a quiet area with plenty of wildlife and soothing views.
Amazing views to take in at Jack and Cody's Mountain Retreat. This is a lightly developed 6 acres where backpackers and mostly tent campers can come stay for a night while traveling. Longer stays definitely welcomed, come enjoy the beautiful mountain views and amazing Sunrises and Sunsets.
The Mountains are amazing just witnessing the changes from day to day is humbling. Small towns nearby have some great genuine people, rushing rivers, and great coffee.
  • Parking was easy to find, GPS led us right to it. The pups greeted us followed shortly by Cody. Cody was one of the best hosts I've met and it was a great night. The camping spot was a short walk from the car and had plenty of trees for hammocks and ground for tents. Only thing better than the stars at night was the sun lighting up the mountains in the morning.

    Julia2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view of the mountains during the day, so many stars out at night! Great host.

    Anna2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cody was such a great host. We can’t wait until our next stay here.

    Stephanie2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cody is a super host and quick to respond to questions. The spot is pretty awesome also. The tent area is a distance of about two minute hike from where you park your car. I was able to drive there with a minivan no problem.

    Pezhman2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a blast! If you are debating.. do it! Cody was super nice and accommodating.

    Fairon2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This campsite is beautiful and clean. We brought firewood and then realized the forest was full of great wood! We loved walking around the area and hanging out in the hammocks. Cody was super friendly and his dogs are amazing. The views and the stars were perfect. Great fun spot.

    Lizzie2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is the perfect getaway. It's a bit of a hike back to the campsites but the views do not disappoint. Cody is awesome and friendly. We felt totally safe and comfortable. Will definitely be back!

  • Hillside Colorado Cottage's was an absolutely divine place to stay for a weekend exploration trip of Southern CO. The location was unparalleled for both sunrise and sunset views, and the property was isolated yet still accessible despite it being winter and experiencing some recent snowfall. The cottage itself is the perfect size for two people, we loved it for a romantic getaway, and offers an impressive kitchenware collection. We look forward to coming back in the summer months for another stay!

  • Excellent stay in a modern cabin setting -- clean, comfortable, with everything you might need in the kitchen and bathroom. Very helpful and responsive hosts. I loved the beautiful walks along country roads -- just a short distance down the road and up towards the Sangres. This is a great location -- a real gem.

  • My partner and I stayed during Christmas week and had an amazing time . The pictures don’t do justice ! The scenery is so beautiful and peaceful. We packed a cooler full of food and the cottage had EVERYTHING we needed to cook! The shower is a great size and the water heated up quickly. Comfortable bed and well heated stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to get away from the city and enjoy the mountains .

  • Beautiful location, surprisingly easy to find! It is about 45 minutes to Salida, a very cool town but otherwise not near many stores, etc. The place was so cute and the perfect size! The views were beautiful and it was easy access to the Arkansas River. Thank you so much!

  • We enjoyed our stay as I knew we would being a repeat visitor and all! We love the location with all the wildlife + breathtaking views, the cottage is always sparkling clean, and it’s loaded with everything you need! The personal touch of their Peppermint + rosemary lotion, shampoo, + conditioner is so refreshing! I always buy some to take home with me! We caught our own trout and grilled at the cottages. We enjoyed their provided coffee and they conveniently have a fridge, stove top + microwave. Towns are close by if you want to eat out or stroll the town. This is our all time favorite place to stay in CO!

  • Outstanding Airbnb experience. Great cottage

    Manuel2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place far exceeded our expectation. Everything was clean. The facilities were new and nicely designed. All beds and pillows were comfortable. It's the best Airbnb we've stayed in in the last couple of years.

  • Excellent place to stay and take all your everyday worries away. Great place to relax and unwind. Very peaceful with great views in the country hillside. House was extremely clean and a great space to hand out and enjoy the company of friends and family.

    Matthew2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • We truly enjoyed our time in Hillside! As others have mentioned, the place is beautifully furnished and SPARKLING CLEAN! I am a bit of a bed snob and our bed was very comfortable and the linens were buttery soft. We were pampered with the thoughtful aromatherapy toiletries. The Welcome Basket was a nice touch. We stayed in the largest cabin, 4 bedroom, 2 bath. Our cabin and the others are situated nicely and would be perfect for a large family gathering. The grounds are beautifully groomed and kept. It was a treat to listen to the music of the birds. Seeing the horses graze and neigh in the back was a treat and also got to see a herd of deer. The first 2 evenings were cloudy but our 3rd night was worth the wait! It seemed like the stars actually touch the ground - SPECTACULAR! The place is convenient to the Salida Hot Springs, where we spent a number of hours playing and soaking and enjoying a picnic lunch. A longer drive to get to the Great Sand Dunes but well worth it! Wish we had stopped at the Gator Farm, upon our return many told us we missed a great adventure. Do not hesitate booking here, it EXCEEDED our expectations!

  • We decided a last minute spring break vacation to hillside house, we love the extra space for our fam of 4, everything was immaculate clean, beautiful furnished, the perfect spot to relax and disconnect from the city hectic life. It felt so cozy and homey. My girls enjoyed the games and puzzles provided. It exceeded our expectations and will highly recommend.

    Joannie2019-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Place was very clean and very well appointed. The beds were small so I don't think the place would comfortably accommodate 8 as listed but we were just 3 people so this was no issue. I only point that out should someone be coming with a larger group. The listing is very accurate so it was exactly as expected. Wi-Fi service was better than listed so we were able to stream Netflix in the evening for some entertainment. Be sure to stop in Canon City on the way in for groceries as its a good 30 minutes into town. Because of that the starry nights are stunning at the cabin especially if you find yourself up a 2 or 3 am. The people that run it are very quick at responding to emails or texts as well so any questions you have should be answered long before arriving.

  • This place is the absolute best. We came with my family (2 small kids) and my parents and had a blast. It's super family friendly, the toddler loved the train set and the blocks. The place was spotless and made us feel comfortable and right at home. Really perfect. We will surely be back!

Our place borders 5000 acres of BLM land. We have 37 fenced acres. There is no running water in the cabin, limited solar power, a propane oven and all the essentials. Outside the cabin, there is a small dog run, a hand-pump well, and an outhouse. 4 wheel drive is strongly recommended. Scarce cell service.
Great for camping with large groups of people. Lots of campsites.
    Very "off the beaten path".
  • Great location. Fantastic views. Very private and off the beaten path.

  • Definitely a fun place to stay for a weekend! The place is rustic and quite. Amy provided everything we needed to feel comfortable. The road getting in was a little sketchy as described. Defiantly would recommend and is close to the Arkansas river to get some rafting in. Awesome place!

    Daniel2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot!! Follow their directions, go with your gut. At one point you’re going to question if you took a wrong turn, if you’re following directions odds are you’re good! Just keep blazing the trail. Definitely way out there, but that’s what we wanted.

  • The View House is the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. The views from every room are amazing! The house is very clean and the kitchen is well stocked with plenty of dishes, utensils and pots and pans etc. We made sure to plan a few meals and stock up on groceries before we got to the house, which made it feel even more like home. The house is big enough for everyone to have space, yet very cozy. The location is great, we were able to take day trips to explore, shop and eat out in Salida, Canon City and The Royal Gorge, as well as spend the day tubing and snowboarding at Monarch Mountain. We all looked forward to the mornings so we could watch all of the deer roam around the property, as well as the cows getting fed. The View House made our holiday together truly magical!

  • Our family had an incredible and memorable winter wonderland vacation experience at "Star Mesa", we stayed the last week of December. Pinon Vacation Company was friendly and very helpful. The cabin had everything we needed for two adults and three children. We look forward to coming back in the spring or summer to this cabin. The views were breathtaking and picturesque. Again, we truly had a wonderful vacation and for the first time we saw Bald Eagles, Big Horned Sheep, and many large deer all along the Arkansas River. We went skiing at Monarch Mountain and everything was awesome, however, the tubing at Monarch Mountain did fall short for the price. We did have a 4x4 / all wheel truck that helped with the winter advisory conditions. Thank you and we can't wait to come back!

The 525-acre Stagecoach Ranch offers stunning mountain views, private creek access and spacious accommodations for family and friends. Two living quarters (main ranch house and bunk house) with a total 6 bedrooms, 4.5 baths and over 5,000 square feet of living space makes the Stagecoach Ranch perfect for any large group. Stay entertained in the detached game room equipped with billiards, shuffleboard and TV. Enjoy the gazebo, nearby hiking, fly fishing, white water rafting and more!
The Stagecoach Ranch is ideal for large groups (i.e. family reunions, wedding parties, church and corporate retreats, holiday gatherings, etc.) and offers numerous activities on and near the ranch. The main ranch house and bunk house have been recently updated while keeping with the cozy ranch style. Exploring the sprawling grounds you will find 1.5 miles of private creek access, a charming covered bridge and a historic horse barn (that was used in the 1965 movie Cat Ballou). A few of our favorite things: -Take a scenic drive along the Arkansas River to Salida and enjoy great shopping and restaurants. -Stargaze in nearby Westcliffe, a certified international dark sky community. -Make the short trip to Florence for a fun afternoon of antiquing.
The Stagecoach Ranch is private and has a true ranch setting with neighbors about 1/2 mile away.
  • We loved our time at Stagecoach. The main house has all the modern conveniences and was well appointed. The scenic acreage backs to beautiful public lands so we had plenty to explore and enjoyed our ATVs. The home is beautifully decorated with western antiques and felt welcoming. They even tastefully decorated for the holidays. Great place for big groups with multiple-living areas, a separate game room, and the cozy 2-bedroom cabin with full kitchen. Manager David was very friendly and helpful. Met us when we arrived and checked in with us. Wifi was sketchy, but David is new and said he’d be working on it as well as other improvements. We highly recommend this home.

  • We had a great family reunion for all ages at Courtney’s place. The house is in a quiet country setting with a great view and lots of open space for kids. The house was very clean and felt like home. There are spaces for formal and informal gathering both inside and outside. The kitchen is large and well equipped fir cooking for 17 people. Lots of options for local outdoor activities. I wish we could have stayed longer. I would definitely come back again.

  • Courtney's place was even more than we could have anticipated. The views are incredible and Courtney helped us with everything we needed!! We had forgotten a couple cooking things and she let us borrow them. Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone looking for a place for a big group. LOVED LOVED this airbnb and will definitely be back!

  • Courtney's place is just what you want if you are looking for peaceful, quiet, beautiful surroundings and a wonderful accommodation! The internet is a little sketchy and slow, but hey! You want peace and quiet! Right?! Our group had a wonderful time road biking, mountain biking, hiking, eating and drinking and just having fun!

    Helen2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place was more than we expected and better than we could have hoped for. The kitchen is loaded with everything we needed. Everyone had a blast. The entire family enjoyed playing pool, shuffleboard and games. It was a vacation that the entire family will remember the rest of our lives. Thank you for a great week!

    Cecilia2018-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful hospitality and service! Loved the nice touches throughout the house. The extra home on the property was perfect for our family situation. Being able to walk through the horse pasture and pet the horses was an extra nice surprise. The kids loved it!

    Cheryl2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • I wanted a quiet bachelor party in the mountains with fly fishing access nearby: check and check! However, this property is much more than that! Tucked into the valley and surrounded by juniper-scrub hills, this little gem is a must if you are bringing a large party to south-central Colorado! We enjoyed our chats with the hosts (Courtney & Jeremy) very much! Additionally, their tips for fishing spots worked out beautifully and we were able to relax in a beautiful home. We had plenty of space for cooking and entertaining -- took advantage of the pool room, seating area, grills, and cabana in the early morning and evening while taking in breathtaking views of the Sangre de Cristo Mtns. Plenty of birds, butterflies, and desert plants adorn the hills behind the back patio and we were even lucky enough to see a cinnamon black bear! If you need to get away to a place and disconnect from those electronic leashes, definitely don't overlook this location! Note: Wifi is listed under amenities, but we were unable to find it unless we walked down the road near another home on the property. Thanks Courtney & Jeremy!

  • Definitely recommend! Super friendly helpful staff who treat you like you’re a friend not a client. The A frame was spacious, clean and everything we needed plus has mountain view’s from the front porch and it’s right on the river. Plenty of privacy but everyone there is friendly if you feel like socializing. There are plenty of activities nearby and there is a personalized guide book. Be sure to say hi to chicken Alfredo! (Rocky Top’s resident chicken) Thanks Rhitt! You’re a pumpkin!

  • Really beautiful property right off the river. Pet friendly, very convenient (10 min drive) to Salida, and there’s a cafe on site that serves breakfast & lunch. Rhitt was super accommodating and hustled to get our space ready since it was a same day reservation and we arrived just a couple hours before making the reservation. The RV was cozy and comfortable, and the perfect size for 3 people. Thanks!
