Snuggled in the woods in the southeast section of Burnett County, you will find a rustic, minimally maintained, one-room camper cabin. Only accessible by foot, fat bike, snowshoes, skis, or horseback (during the summer & fall), the camper cabin provides a basic shelter for people that want the "camping experience" without having to handle a tent, or have the weather ruin their visit. Within walking distance of the Timberland Hills X-country ski area and the Ice Age Trail.
COVID-19 -- The minimal cleaning provided does not include disinfecting or sterilization of this facility. You are choosing to use at your own risk. As a precaution, we recommend that you bring some sanitary wipes or sprays with you and simply wipe off the doorknobs, counter, table and any other area to help combat against the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), or for that matter, any other germs. The camper cabin is 10x24 feet in size with an attached deck. Inside is a table, benches, wood stove, and wooden bunk beds with foam mattresses. No linens or pillows are provided, so be sure to bring your sleeping bag. No electricity or running water is available, however, there is a pit toilet and a wood stove for heat in the winter months. We do try to keep a supply of wood onsite for use in the wood stove. You are NOT allowed to carry in any wood. If the supply is depleted, there is plenty of dead and down wood around the cabin area that you are allowed to collect for your use. An ax and saw is provided for your use. Please keep in mind that the cabin is not heated when not rented. In cold temperatures, it will take a few hours for the cabin to warm up. You will want to get a fire going and take a hike or go skiing for awhile to let the cabin get comfortable. Outside the camper cabin is a deck, fire ring with grate, log benches, picnic table, and outhouse. You'll want to be sure to clean up all your food so not to attract bears or other animals to the site. Accessibility: The camper cabin is accessible only by foot, fat bike, snowshoes, skis, or horseback (summer and fall months only). No motorized vehicles of any kind are allowed. The hike to the cabin is about 1/2 mile, with some hills. The hike can be quite muddy in the spring or after heavy rain, and you will be walking through snow in the winter. Bring appropriate footwear. When hiking or snowshoeing in during skiing season, please stay on opposite side of diagonal tracks in a single file line. Capacity: Up to 6 people. There is a bunk bed with 2 full size mattresses and another bunk bed with 2 twin size mattresses. Additional overnight guests are not allowed. Your well-behaved pets are allowed. It is your responsibility to clean up after your pets. Bathroom: There is an outhouse available year-round. Water: There is no indoor plumbing or access to potable water. You will need to carry water in, so plan accordingly. The closest place to purchase water would be in the town of Barronett, which is appr. 8.5 miles southeast. Electricity: There is no electricity in the cabin. Be sure to bring your battery powered headlamps or lanterns. Candles or any other open flames are not allowed inside the cabin (other than what you use to light the wood stove). Cooking: There is a fire ring with a grate for cooking outside. You are in bear country, so be sure to clean up all food residue so as not to attract any unwanted, furry visitors. No open flames are allowed inside the cabin, however, cooking is permitted if the weather does not allow you to use the grate over the campfire ring and during the winter months with your pans or kettles on the wood stove. You may also bring a portable propane cook stove. Please use extra caution when cooking indoors. Heat: There is a wood stove in the cabin. Matches, lighters or other ignition sources are NOT provided, so please plan accordingly. In cold temperatures, it will take a few hours for the cabin to warm up. You will want to get a fire going and take a hike or go skiing for awhile. Once it's warm, it's good and cozy! Campfires: Fires are only permitted within the fire ring. All fires must be extinguished and cool enough to touch with your hand before leaving the site. You are responsible if the campfire gets away. You are liable for all expenses incurred in suppressing the fire and will be responsible for all damages caused by this fire. Campfires are not allowed when County or State emergency fire regulations are in effect. Firewood: You are NOT allowed to bring in wood from another area. We do try to keep a supply of wood for the wood stove to heat the cabin. If that supply has been depleted, you are allowed to collect dead and down wood from the surrounding area for the campfire ring, or the wood stove if needed. No cutting of live trees or shrubs is allowed. An ax and saw will be provided for use. Smoking: No smoking or vaping is allowed inside the camper cabin. If you do smoke, please do so outside disposing the butts in the fire ring or designated ash can.
The camper cabin is within walking distance to the Ice Age Trail, along with countless opportunities for hiking throughout the hundreds of acres of county forest land. Enjoy picking berries, mushrooms, tree seeds, or other edible fruits in the forest during their seasons! Just note that collection must not damage the plants or the natural features of the land. Know what you are consuming. You will be in the Timberland Hills Ski Area: during the months of December through March, guests are able to use the 30 KM of groomed trails for cross country skiing. There is also an established trail for fat bikes and skijoring. Hiking, hunting, horseback riding (in the summer and fall), and biking are popular activities the rest of the year. Mosquitoes, ticks, and bees do exist. You may want to bring along some repellent. Hearing loons, owls, coyotes, and other wildlife at night is quite common. Remember, this is bear country. Approximately 26 miles northwest of the cabin is the town of Siren. Once there you will find gas stations, a grocery store, auto repair, numerous restaurants, a movie theater, shopping, beaches, parks, mini-golf, and a golf course just west of town. About 3 miles from the cabin is a place where you can wet your whistle and get a bite to eat called the Timberland Bar & Grill. About 8 miles east is the small town of Barronett. They have a gas station, a couple of restaurants, a tire shop, and an organic grocery store. Cumberland Memorial Hospital is approximately 13 miles southeast in Cumberland, WI. Burnett County has over 150 thousand acres of public land with over 111 thousand acres of that being County Forest Land. Hunters come from afar during various seasons to pursue their game of choice, including whitetail deer, black bear, Canadian geese, ducks, ruffed grouse, and wild turkey. Catch some fish in any of our rivers, streams, or from one of our hundreds of lakes. Burnett County is home to the Jordan Buck, the Wisconsin record black bear, and the state record Hook and Line sturgeon.
  • Great experience overall - hosts were quick to respond to my questions and the cabin was perfectly cozy and just as described.

  • Do not worry about staying warm in winter months! The wood burning stove keeps the cabin nice and toasty once it warms up. The trails are very well maintained and finding the cabin is very easy. Stress free weekend all around.

  • My mom and two sisters stayed here one night. It was a fun winter stay. Beautiful Be sure to bring water flashlights and read carefully what to bring. It’s a 1/2 mile hike to this cabin from the parking lot so pack only what you will need. It was safe feeling. Oh yeah and it’s an outhouse in the winter .... cold ! Lol It was a good time then mattresses on the bunks were very comfortable considering. I would stay here again.

  • Beautiful place to stay!!

  • We had the pleasure of staying at this property while passing through the area. It was easy to get to, and the view of the lake from the double patio doors was lovely. It works out great for two people, and could accommodate a second couple or a few children with the Murphy bed option. Having several bouquets in crystal vases added a touch of elegance to the space and made it feel all the more welcoming.

The Hoffman House has a beautiful wooded lot going down to the Lake, A true treasure in the heart of the Island City of Cumberland. Our neighborhood is a family friendly area.
  • We loved our stay at the Hoffman house! It was exactly as pictured, literally sparkling clean, and despite it being an older, historical house, it did not feel dusty in any way. Jeanine goes over and above to make her guests feel welcome. We appreciated the pack n' play and the child high chair. We were able to cook easily as she had all of the needed amenities for cooking. The beds were very comfortable. The house is very well maintained and you can tell that the owners take pride a lot of pride in the home. The land on which the house is located is also very beautiful - there is a very large backyard and lake access. It's also very close to some nice walking trails and a large playground which we were able to enjoy. We are excited to have found this gem in Cumberland and look forward to returning!

  • The Hoffman House is a beautiful historic home filled with details and had every amenity needed. The beds and living room furniture were super comfortable, and everything was very clean. The hosts went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and were easily assessable. We saw deer in the backyard twice during our stay, we took walks in the quaint neighborhood, to the park and swimming area, and to the little shops on the Main Street. We had our own access to the Beaver Dam Lake and spent lots of time there. It was a great place for my family and I would recommend coming for a stay! Traci M

    Karen2019-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • This home is in a great spot in Cumberland, with access to the lake and near downtown but still nice and quiet. Jeanine has many homey touches throughout the house, which is a beautifully restored, quaint two-story home. Great place to stay!

    Karen2019-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a treasure we found when we found the Hoffman House!! From the first communication until we checked out this morning - this was an absolutely awesome experience! We received a warm welcome from Bob and Jeanine, followed by a tour of that beautiful home and yard. The attention to detail, amenities (above and beyond the usual soap and towels....) - access to a new gas grill, a golf cart and kayaks to use at their fabulous lake shore, not 1, but 2 fire pits with wood provided, tables and chairs on the wonderful front porch and the back patio....I could go on and one....but suffice it to say......this was a 10 out of 10, PLUS! Book a stay at the Hoffman House in Cumberland - - you will not be sorry!!!!

    Shelley2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was very relaxing. The Hoffman House was just as we expected. The lake access allowed us to enjoy the kayaking that we had planned to do. Jeanine was so accomidating and met us at the house with all of the details that we needed. We found the history of the home and area very interesting. We spent the evenings on the front porch enjoying the quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to shopping and the lake. If you are looking for a relaxing small town escape the Hoffman House will do that for you.

We have a single and a double kayak, life jackets and paddles included. There is a fire pit. Bring wood, get some around the cabin or buy some at the general store (4min away.) There are many lakes with different varieties of fish within 10 minutes of the cabin. There is also a public landing 1 mile away to put in the kayaks when the water by shore is low. CURRENTLY THE WATER IS LOW.
There is a lake store with gas and necessities less than 5 minutes away. We will provide trail maps for snowmobiling.
  • Great little spot! Definitely will return

  • Amanda was an excellent host, and the cabin was perfect for a little getaway. Awesome interior space, plus an incredible fenced in area that was perfect for the dog to run around in. We had a great weekend there - highly recommend!

    Anna2020-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • You will love the quaint cottage. Amanda offers many high class amenities both in the kitchen and bathroom that really help the trip feel like a nice vacation. She even offered some fresh fruit and granola bars. Beds are beyond nice!!! Want to make a campfire and play a guitar, she offers that. Great for a dog! So much beautiful outdoor seating. Kayaks are offered. The dock was little muddy when we were there, but watching the bald eagles and the activity at all the suet feeders made up for it.

    Justin2020-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is by far the best hospitality I have ever had from AirBnb. Host treated us with gifts for us, my son and pet. Everyone loved the treats. Loved everything about this place. It was perfect for my pet and it was perfect for my 2 year old son. Lots to do even if you get caught in bad weather. Would highly recommend. I plan to book again soon.

Rustic cabin on a small wooded lake in Cumberland, Wisconsin. Has everything you'd want and need! Cozy with an insert gas fireplace, TV, equipped kitchen, sunny porch, lake access, fire pit and spacious deck. Summer/Fall - near a big recreational lake and a nice golf course, both within a mile. Winter - ice fishing, cross-country skiing with lighted trails, snowmobile area .... and then jump into the sauna ;)
There is a fire pit right by the lake which is lovely when the sun is setting. There is plenty of wood to burn.
Near a nice golf course and a bigger more recreational lake. In the winter, 7 miles away is an extensive cross-country ski area, some of which is lighted. Cumberland is a cute, small town with a grocery store, small shops, and several restaurants.
  • Wonderful amenities for a winter getaway. It was worth the effort to clear the outdoor firepit of snow and make a fire in the late afternoon. A full kitchen made it easy to cook Thanksgiving dinner. I would love to come back in the summer when I can enjoy the lake.

    Judith2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was beautiful! We had so much fun relaxing by the fire and enjoying the wildlife! The place is very spacious and had everything we could have asked for! Beth was quick to respond and provided a ton of information about the area. We would love to go back!

  • A fabulous place to stay. Exceptional location and property. Loved every second of our stay!

    Ryan2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is beautiful, situated in the woods, right next to the lake. We loved spending time on the dock and on the awesome deck overlooking the water. Louie’s Finer Meats can’t be beat, so definitely go pick up meat to grill. We definitely recommend this place. Beth is very responsive and organized. Thanks for the lovely, recharging stay!

    Theresa2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Summer week with the three grandkids at this quiet peaceful cabin. Plenty of space for all five of us. There is a nice fire pit, for nightly s’mores. A beautiful deck overlooking the lake. Nicely decorated living space and a kitchen with everything needed. We brought water floats and a small fishing boat, which we used. We also bought lawn chairs, big pans, electric griddle, s’mores fire forks and a few other things that we did not need since it’s all here. The lake is small but nice for fishing, not so much for power boating. There is not internet and phone service sometimes not so great, tv channels are pretty limited, but this all worked in our favor since we want the kids to hang out with us. I really enjoyed my week here and would like to return soon. Thanks Beth

    Sheryl2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cabin was clean, well stocked and spacious enough for our family of 5 (dog included). Lake was fun for swimming, fishing and catching frogs. Beth was super quick to respond to my texts and emails, much appreciated! Many fond family memories were made. Hope to visit again!

    Heather2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect for my friend and I; great indoor space, but I don't think I ever sat in there. The three season porch was awesome during the rain, and the deck was the place to be the rest of the time. Nice quiet lake, with very few jet skis, so we floated out past the weeds on air mattresses. Fire by the lake; all the things. It's amazing. Also! If you go, there's a crazy place called the Potter's Shed north maybe 20 minutes; with food, drinks and live local blue-grassy kind of music outside, plus an art gallery. Have fun!

    Holly2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED this place!!! The cabin is even more beautiful than the pictures suggest. The lake is pretty and very quiet - only saw a few other people the whole weekend. We spent most of our time there and didn’t want to leave. There are so many thoughtful touches at this cabin - like bug spray and a fully stocked kitchen for cooking - that made it a really relaxing and easy stay. It’s also really comfy with games and DVDs for a rainy afternoon. The town nearby is cute with a good grocery store and a GREAT butcher called Louie’s Finer Meats. A fantastic retreat, secluded and quiet and really peaceful. Would absolutely recommend.

Great Granite Lake Getaway Located minutes outside of Cumberland Wi and minutes to Rice Lake, Shell Lake and Spooner. Doc in the Lake, enjoy 250ft of lake shore Nice back yard and View of the Lake with a wrap around back porch. Enjoy a nice fire pit. Also plenty of room to have tents outside on the beautiful lawn. Year round fishing, boating, golf ATV, and snowmobiling trails.
  • Great location and lake view. My dog Greta have a great time and my family. The house was owned by a true hero. I felt honored to stay there. Really gave me a sense of patriotism . We stumbled on the newspaper clipping on the shelf. While relaxing take a little time to read about real life hero's. Great place to stay. I hope to stay again sometime!!

The "Gatekeeper" cottage is our first new structure here at Stonehaven. The inside of the main floor is finished and beautiful! There is a natural stone fireplace in the living room, a full kitchen, a full bath on the main floor and a half bath in the sleeping loft. One must be able to climb ladder stairs to the sleeping loft. Guests are welcome to the outdoors of our 40 acres. This cottage is not right on the water, but the lake is accessible for all guests and can be seen from the porch.
This time of year Tuscobia Lake gets rather weedy, but the lake is still navigable at a slower pace. When using the pontoon, the weeds may need to be cleaned off the motor from time to time, but the lake itself is quite peaceful and relaxing to be out on. It is about a quarter mile walk or drive to our dock area and we do have several lakeside campfire areas for relaxing while overlooking the lake. Apple maps is accurate for getting to Stonehaven Cottages, and if you need directions please call or text us. Our cottage is smoke free. If you smoke, you are welcome to smoke outside on our porch or anywhere outdoors where the smoke does not affect others. Fireworks of any type are strictly forbidden on the property.
Stonehaven is located just a couple miles from the north end of the city of Rice Lake and about 6 miles to the major retail areas of the city. The Tuscobia Trail is just 2 miles north of us and there are several skiing trails, golf courses, restaurants and other entertainment venues within 20 miles of us. The Wild Rivers snowmobile and ATV trail can be accesses right from our north driveway. There is some traffic noise although not heard hardly at all inside. Saturday nights the noise from the Rice Lake Speedway can be heard. The speedway is out a mile away and the level of noise varies based on the wind direction.
  • Lori and Ted were very responsive to questions and friendly. The cottage is in a good location about 2 miles from town. There is a nice walking trail. They have put a lot of work into the cottage and it shows. I found their place very relaxing.

    Desiree2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this place! We wanted to escape the city for the weekend and this place was great. From the moment you drive in, you feel at home. The quarter mile walk down to the lake is peaceful. We hung out at the dock and bird watched. We were going to take one of the boats out but we decided we'll do it next time. The pictures don't do this place justice. It's even more beautiful in person. Everywhere you looked, there would be another small thing that we noticed and loved. We will for sure be back!

    Patricia2020-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was very neat, clean and very nicely done! If you want an enjoyable place to stay, I would certainly recommend this place.

    James2020-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • We were able to truly relax and forget about the pandemic for a couple days. This cottage, Ted and Lori were God sends! Thank you!!

    Rachel2020-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is an excellent place to escape to the northern woods of Wisconsin. It was a cozy, comfortable environment that had everything we needed for a wonderful weekend! Ted was very helpful and responded right away to questions. It is a lovely place to stay with trails and the lake. I would recommend it to anyone as long as you can climb steep stairs (but there is a great pullout couch as an alternative too).

    Lindsay2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great!. It appears to be all handmade so it doesn’t have the usual feelings of a commercial cabin. It is very unique and very interesting and a great place.

    Sam2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Teds Cottage on Lake Tuscobia is fantastic!! The cottage is very comfortable and quiet. We loved walking the trails on his 40 acres that parallel the lake. The cabin is easy to get to, located on a good road just outside of Rice Lake. We did a lot of reading, relaxing, and drinking coffee as we enjoyed the indoor fireplace. We can’t wait until we visit there again!

    Greg2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway. There were many touches throughout this cozy cottage that made us feel at home. We enjoyed spending the weekend here and plan to visit again during the summer.

  • My husband and I, along with our daughter and son-in-law, spent a long weekend at Julie's charming lake cabin. The cabin is located in a peaceful, serene location with an awesome view of the lake. We were able to grill outside on the charcoal grill provided and enjoyed sitting around a campfire in the evening. Julie even welcomed us with a gift basket containing all the ingredients to make S'mores! The cabin is clean and cozy and has all you need, including a dishwasher in the kitchen and whirlpool tub in the bedroom. Julie was an amazing host and was available if there was anything that we needed. We appreciated her warm hospitality! If you enjoy fishing, Julie's cabin is located on an awesome fishing lake, and there is a boat dock for docking the boat overnight. We loved our stay there and are already looking forward to our next visit!

  • Great hosts, ease of access to the lake, far enough from town to be away from the hustle but close enough to get what you need when you need it. Lovely, personal touches to the space. Exceptional

  • Kim and Heather are great hosts! The space is way better than the pictures show! Very comfortable and clean. The view of the lake is amazing but be prepared To walk a lot of stairs to the dock. Their dog is a sweetheart!

    Pateen2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful view to the lake from so many windows and the fall leaves were in full glory. The access to the entrance is difficult to manage with mobility issues but once inside it was roomy and lovely. Super super clean and very comfortable master bed. Great instant communication and ease of check in were superb. Thanks for hosting us!

    Colleen2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space in an incredible location. We loved our secluded get away. Definitely would recommend this spot!!

    Christina2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a quick overnight stay--not long enough to fully enjoy what Kim's place has to offer in terms of the grounds and surrounding area. Everything we did experience was excellent. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've had at an Air BnB, and the kitchen one of the best equipped. The view from the patio was beautiful and peaceful, and Kim and Heather were very pleasant and available without being intrusive in any way. The grounds are woodsy and charming. Book and enjoy!!

    Rebecca2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem-of-a-find for those with dogs! Heather, Kim, and doggo Dakota were very welcoming and their property great for city dogs to let loose. Inside, the space has everything and doesn't feel like it's a walk-out basement. The space is huge and cozy, ideal for cooking all day and lounging all night. Outside, the trails and stairs were easy to navigate and we took advantage of the lake-side firepit and dipped the kayaks in the lake for a quick paddle. This place is well worth the money and drive from the Twin Cities.

    Heidi2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kim & Heather are gracious hosts who have wonderful guest accommodations. The space is beautiful and is equipped with all anyone could want or need. We had a wonderful time and we really enjoyed the lake, the house, and our interactions with our hosts. We have never utilized Airbnb before and did not know what to expect. Kim and Heather's place provided more that we expected and we can't say enough about them and our experience.

    Randy2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Once you get down to the "apartment", it's truly fabulous! The quiet, peaceful views, super clean place, and hospitality were great! The access needs to be improved by leveling the pathway around and maybe adding a railing to the stairs, but we really appreciated how Kim and Heather helped us with unloading and loading since it was a bit difficult for us. Inside, the place was spotless and pretty much perfect! We loved it, and especially getting to hang with Dakota! Thanks for everything! I'm sure we'll be back!

Fishing, boating, campfires, and lots of rustic, small town charm. Narrows Point Resort, formerly Krejci Kingdom, is located on 500+ ft of lake shore on The Big 6 Chain of Lakes, in Chetek, WI. Reopening under new ownership after a 10 year hibernation.
The Pines is one of three rustic, stand alone cabins, along the north shore of the property. Standing 40 feet apart, each cabin is equipped with two bedrooms, common room, bathroom, and a small kitchen with all of the necessities. The Pines is equipped with two queen sized beds and a futon. There is a short dock located off the back side of the cabin. To the east, are four of the 6 docks located on the property. While we currently do not have boat rentals, if you have a boat to bring, there is a boat launch 1 mile from the property. Enjoy fishing, a personal fire pit, shared fish house with running water and electricity, and all that this wooded location has to offer.
Located on The Big 6 Chain of Lakes, The Narrows refers to the narrow stretch of lake between Mud (Ojaski) and Pokegama Lakes. There are several bar/restaurants with boat access throughout the chain of lakes. Somerset Pub is 0.3 miles from our resort, and is easily walk able. Lynda's Lakeshore is the next closest, just 1 mile away. Both are easily accessible by boat and car. There are 6 other boat accessible bars along the lake, so keep looking! The main street of Chetek is just a 10 minute drive away, where you will find bars, restaurants, bakery, shopping, groceries, pharmacy, coffee shop, and bait shop. Check out the Hydroflites, Chetek's own water ski show, which can be viewed by boat, or from the Aqua Theater, located off of Lakeview Drive. For great pizza, sand volley ball, or bowling on a rainy day, try Chetek Lanes! Additional recreational recommendations provided upon booking.
  • Very, clean and cute cabin that we enjoyed for a family wedding weekend!

    Krista2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at the cabin is like stepping into the 1940’s, but with WiFi. Great quaint space on the water!

    Courtney2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at this very cute cabin! The area was quiet and peaceful and it was so simple to dip our kayaks into the lake from the dock right next to the cabin.

  • Clean, quite, and very peaceful. Very close to the Lake.

    Brad2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • So here is the skinny, this is a 1940's cabin that had been boarded up and now getting life pumped back into it. I LOVED it !The space was clean as a whistle. Mike and Jen just took this property over a few months ago and are slowly getting her back up and running, I can't wait to see it when completed. I stayed in the Pines cabin, i felt like a gangster from Chicago hiding out for the weekend. I had a few beers at Somerset bar just a short walk away, the beer is cold and reasonable and the fish fry is awesome. Town is a short drive and has everything you need. I was able to bring my dog and he loved running and playing, if you bring your please make sure to pick up after them so places like this will continue to allow other to bring theirs. This cabin is a 5 hour drive from Chicago, just far enough to make you feel like you are getting away but not to far to feel like a hassle drive.

    Ron2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • My family really enjoyed our stay at this adorable little cabin by the lake! The place was just as I imagined it would be, quaint, peaceful and right on the water. It was fun to hear the bald eagles right above the property echoing in the still morning air and watching them swooping down over the water to pick up fish!

    Kristina2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Just a lovely rustic lakeside cabin for some relaxing downtime. Hosts were so wonderful!!!

    Rachel2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect rustic getaway on the lake! The cabin we stayed in was beautifully redone and a cozy spot for our family to relax and enjoy. We enjoyed the fire pit in the evening, the beautiful views on the lake throughout the day and night and you might even see an otter playing by the docks! The kids had a blast jumping off the docks and swimming in the cove (finding snail shells and pretty rocks was also a hit). There was a small kitchen stocked with the essentials along with a grill for all our cooking needs. Jen and Mike were delightful hosts and their pup was super friendly. I look forward to returning next year and hopefully many years to come! ***No loss in cell signal and easy access to nearby towns was also a hit for my family that stopped by to visit while we were there.

Great for romantic getaways, family vacations, or just quiet getaway to relax? The area has something for everyone. Bring your own boat to enjoy this fully recreational lake or rent one. Provided is a paddle boat, 2 paddle boards, and a canoe. The lake is very quiet and peaceful. The cabin boasts a beautiful fireplace and wonderful view.
The cabin is 3 levels with stairs going both up and down from Great Room. You will have full access to the entire property. The property is beautiful year-round and is quiet and relaxing. There are neighbors surrounding the lake so quiet guests are required.
This cabin is on a peaceful lake and I have great neighbors.
  • What can I say? ...this property checked off all our boxes and then some!! We went up North to see the fall colors. This is by far the coziest cabin we have ever rented. Love that it was designed with such care and filled with things that are meaningful to the owner. We found ourselves saying "hmmm I wonder if he would sell it?" . Anthony was very responsive. Fantastic experience!

    Todd2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful cabin! The Nordic touches were charming and the space was perfect for a group. Would definitely recommend!

    Erin2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is so cute and was very comfortable for a group of six. We had a great weekend. The only problem was the bugs outside were a little intense so we didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor space as much as we wished.

    Emma2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous log cabin with lots of artisan Norse decor. We were there in February for a Nordic ski marathon (American Birkebeiner) and the cabin was a super cozy place to kick back after a long day on the trails. Tony was a great host and very fast to respond to messages. Highly recommended.

    Mark2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Good swimming, well stocked kitchen, excellent bedding on all the beds. Overall very nice.

    Sasha2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very special Nordic artifacts in a charming and beautiful cabin. Easy access to the lake, which was sparkling clear and warm. Enjoyed using the hot tub, BBQ and paddle boards. Grand fireplace. On the downside, one bathroom for six people was somewhat challenging and on hot evenings plenty of mosquitos outside made the lack of a/c quite uncomfortable. Tony was super available for any issues we had and responded in minutes to all requests.

A nice large house, steps from the lake. Three bedroom with two full baths and a sun room to relax and enjoy looking out over the lake. Perfect for a family or couples for a nice weekend getaway. It's a great place to escape and get some peace and tranquility listening to nature. One can sit on the dock and listen in on the loon’s “gossip” and take in the beautiful sunset or take a tour of the lake on a kayak and commune with nature. For golfers, there is Turtleback Golf course within 5 miles.
Enjoy life on the lake. For the home bodies there’s A/C in the summer time and a gas Fireplace in winter to cozy up to for those cold morning or evening while relaxing and reading. Plenty of Board Games and movies to enjoy. Lots of intricate details depicting outdoor lake living.
  • Our group stayed at Walter's place in February - we were in town to ski the American Birkebeiner up in Hayward. Walter was incredibly responsive in his messages, checkin was easy, and he even provided some welcome snacks and wine. Lovely fire place, spacious and clean garage that we were allowed to park in which is nice in the winter. Thanks for a wonderful stay Walter!

  • Some friends and I stayed at Walter’s place in February for a girls’ weekend and it was the perfect relaxing retreat! The home was cozy and absolutely spotless, and Walter went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and more. I would highly recommend this place!

  • Beautiful spot! Nicely furnished and decorated cabin. Loved the paddleboat rides we took every evening and the raft was an added bonus. Had cocktails on it one afternoon. The lake is so calm and quiet, it's like being all by yourself on a lake in the woods. Our dog loved exploring and riding in the paddleboat with us. My husband fished every morning and evening while I relaxed reading a book in the sun. Thanks, Stephanie! We were lucky to have a great host to respond quickly to any of our questions.

    Steven2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding property. Remote and comfortable. The wifi and local television helped us stay in touch and kept us apprised when the storm that hit. Stephanie and Eric are top notch hosts!! They were at the front door the morning after and made us their main priority, when they had multiple properties damaged. They went to work and cleared the driveway and allowed us to go home by the afternoon. Once again, AWESOME!!

Welcome to Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary! We are a public, non-profit learning center and nature sanctuary. Our historic Log Cabin is nearly a century old and offers a peaceful retreat in the woods. All the furniture was updated in 2018. The Log Cabin is located just outside of the main camp, settled on top of a hill overlooking pristine forest habitat. Nearby towns offer additional entertainment or relax in our quiet setting while reading a good book in front of the stone fireplace.
This cabin is perfect for those looking for a cozy, no frills, rustic cabin-camping experience in the woods of northern Wisconsin. The historic Log Cabin sits on top of a small hill, accessible by steps, and was built in the 1930s. It features handmade log construction, hardwood floor, a stone fireplace, handmade windows and doors, forged hinges and latches, and square nails. The cabin has a tiny bathroom, quaint kitchen, one master bedroom with a queen size bed, a living room with room for an air bed (provided), and a tiny loft with a twin-size mattress. It also has an unheated porch overlooking the forests of the nature sanctuary. When indoor plumbing was added to the cabin, there was limited space for the bathroom. Because of this, there is no formal bathroom in this cabin. Located near the front door, there is a water closet that has the toilet, and next to it is the stand up shower, which is not in a private room (see the photos). The kitchen includes a sink, small oven/stove with four burners, fridge, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. It has some dishes, pots, pans, eating and cooking utensils. Dish soap and dishtowels are provided, but dishes must be handwashed by our guests. The bedroom is simple, but spacious and features a queen bed with night stands, lamp and dresser. The living room has a dining table with 2 chairs and a large stone fireplace. The fireplace offers ambiance to the space, but is inefficient in heating the cabin. Wood for the fireplace is located in the wood box on the front porch. A controllable thermostat allows guests to set the temperature of the cabin to their preference (there is no a/c, however the shady location keeps the cabin cool in summer). The living room has a love seat, room to set up the provided air mattress and soft chairs. There is also a tiny loft in the living room that is accessible by a log ladder and has a twin mattress on it. There is no television or internet service at the cabin. We do our best to keep the nearly century-old cabin pest free, but it is not sealed tight. So, guests should be aware that on occasion, there may be mice present - especially in the fall as they make their way towards warmer locations in preparation of winter. We recommend keeping food items in the provided bins, make sure garbage is properly stored and dirty dishes are cleaned up often. Also, the log cabin is located in the beautiful woods of northern Wisconsin. Because of this, guests will experience bugs such as mosquitoes and sometimes deer flies. If you are hiking during the summer, you may also find ticks. It is recommended to wear long sleeves and pants while hiking and to bring bug spray if you will spend time outdoors.
The cabin is located on a 600 acre nature preserve in northern Wisconsin. The cabin is secluded, sitting on a hill in the woods. There is one other cabin located around 50 feet away. Nearby, we are surrounded by many small towns that feature a variety of recreational activities such as: skiing, snowmobiling, disc golf, golf, a wonderful sand beach in Shell Lake, fishing, shopping, hiking and more! There are also many restaurants and bars close by.
  • A beautiful cabin surrounded by forests and trails. Our favorite part was watching the sunrise from the giant east facing window and sitting by the fireplace at night.

    Daniel2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place to get away from it all.

    Jen2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Charming, quaint, well kept, super clean, rustic cabin. A wonderful little winter getaway in the woods.

    Michelle2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was absolutely perfect! The cabin was rustic as described, and so cozy. There was beautiful scenery looking out from the cabin and along the hiking trails. We did have phone reception, but chose to spend the weekend “unplugged”, playing board games, snowshoeing, and relaxing by the fireplace. Will definitely be back!!

    Stephanie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second year staying at Hunt Hill cabin. We love how rustic it is.

    Elly2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome cabin on a beautiful piece of property! We lucked out and had heavy snowfall which made the view from the cabin window stunning. No TV, no DVD, no Wi-fi made for the perfect weekend respite from modernity. Do bring a big supply of dry kindling or fat wood fire starter sticks as the large chunks of provided firewood don't catch very well. Also, keeping the door to the kitchen closed helps keep the heat in the living room. Finally, the queen bed was very comfortable, which isn't always the case in cabins. We will be back!

    Barglopat2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, I'm sure I’II be back. It was three unforgettable days. The cabin has everything exactly as described.

Could not have asked for a smoother and easier stay as we had a group getting ready for a wedding together. Spent the weekend enjoying the changes of the fall leaves with some bald eagles, and beautiful sunsets! So many small touches that made this place absolutely perfect! Thanks from us all!

  • I came to the Birchwood area to do a little fishing with four family members. This place exceeded my expectations in so many ways. We enjoyed watching football on the big screen TV and dinner on the back porch. The cabin was spacious and clean, and I haven't slept that good in years. The whole area was beautiful and the community was so friendly. I was already making plans to return on our drive home!

  • We wanted to get away from the cities for MEA days and found this beautiful cabin on lake Largon. You can tell it's all been completely remodeled on the inside and looks like just a perfect idea of a cabin. We had a little hiccup with the heat on the first night but when we called Evolve they answered immediately and helped us right away. I would like to come back here sometime in the summer when it's warmer so that we can make use of their generously provided boats and hammock. It was a great first Air BnB experience!

  • Exceeded expectations. Poor planning caused us to not bring cooking supplies, luckily the host had everything we needed already there

    Steven2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed this quiet little lake and exploring it in the kayaks and paddleboat. The dock was nice and we had a great campfire on our last night. Inside, the cabin was very comfortable for our group. We like to cook and found everything we needed in the kitchen. There are lots of games and fishing gear on the big, comfy porch.

    Audrey2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here with my sisters-in-law and the kids. There was plenty of room for 3 adults and 3 kids. We especially loved the low-traffic driveway and local road for the kids to ride bikes. We also loved the screen porch and kayaks & paddle boats. One suggestion is to bring your own drinking water because the cabin had hard water. Great place overall! I would stay again.

    Sara2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Cozy Cabin was such a dream! We had 3 generations that stayed there and it was the best time. The lake is literally in the backyard, and it comes with the best games, amenities, and scenery anyone could ask for. We went on paddle boats, played backyard games together, and got to have the sweetest time as a big family. The beds were super comfortable and there was ample blankets, towels, cookware. It felt like our own get away house. Thank you for creating such a warm space - we will never forget our weekend away! :)

  • Beautiful place, relaxing. Communication was great, check in and out was smooth and easy. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly.

  • This is an amazing spot! Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxing place to get away. Beautiful location, but within minutes of good food. Comfortable Jacuzzi tub, good sized freezer and fridge, soft bed, relaxing fireplace... honestly everything you could need for a great vacation! And welcoming staff on top of it all! ☺️
