  • Alex and Susanna were brilliant hosts. Even asked us if we needed anything from the shop, they were popping to. The location was perfect. The sauna was a great, added extra. We thought the room could’ve been cleaner but other than this, it was great and we would recommend 😊

  • Would definitely recommend this and we hope to be back soon. Lovely night away and change of scenery, perfect location with a cute pub next door. Cosy and has everything needed for a relaxed night. Alex and Susanna were lovely hosts, very quick to respond and were there right away when we needed help connecting to the WiFi. Overall had a perfect stay! Thank you x

  • Such a lovely space to stay in. Very modern, yet lovely and cosy. The sauna was absolutely amazing! My stay was just amazing, can not fault this air b&b and cannot wait to go back. Alex and Susanna are such lovely hosts, who always responded quickly and we’re so helpful. I can’t recommend this place enough.

  • Outstanding little guest house to spend few days in. Very stylish and lots of little things have been thought of by the hosts to make it a very welcoming place to walk in to. Communication from them was great, clear concise instructions about check in and location and plenty of info about the local area. I always felt like if I needed them they were right there - but importantly never in the slightest felt like they were right over my shoulder or intrusive on the space! Location is great, not far from the Brecon Beacons, the coast, and plenty of castles if your an explorer/sightseer. Also Newport and its surrounding amenities are a stones throw away. Plus having a personal sauna is an absolute win, would highly recommend the hosts and their guesthouse to anyone! Cheers

  • Easy to access and find, lovely hosts and cozy room which is also beautiful 😍 The Sauna is awesome and gives it the extra special touch. Will be coming back here again when I visit friends ✌🏼 thank you Alex and Susanna 🥰

Perfectly situated to explore all the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean has to offer, The Apple Loft is an idyllic getaway popular with honeymooners, walkers, cyclists and those just wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With panoramic views across Mork Valley, guests can walk our grassy tracks, explore the old lime kilns, picnic in our fields, say ‘hello’ to the pet sheep and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature, stars and sunsets in this magical and relaxing retreat.
Combining period features with modern quirkiness and bespoke craftsmanship, the newly refurbished Apple Loft is a detached self-catering cottage for two with original oak beams, vaulted ceiling, stone walls and a feature arched window with spectacular views. Situated in the grounds of the owners 13th century Grade 2 listed farmhouse, located above an ancient cider press and at the end of a historical stone barn, 10 external stone steps lead to the front door, giving entrance to an open plan living, dining, kitchen area and bathroom with bath, shower, sink and WC. A unique internal staircase leads to the quirky mezzanine bedroom with low level king size bed. This high spec and comfortable conversion complete with oil central heating and real flame electric fire, includes an electric cooker with ceramic hob, microwave, under counter fridge with small freezer compartment, kettle, toaster, coffee maker and tv/ dvd player. Outside, the stone archway leads to a patio area complete with pergola and comfortable garden furniture so you can dine al fresco or relax with your favourite drink as you watch the sun go down! Beyond the patio is a newly landscaped teardrop garden area complete with fire pit, stream and bridge made from reclaimed sleepers which provides guests with their own personal access to our 40 acres of private countryside. Underneath the loft, guests may use the cider press area as a welly room and for lockable bike storage. A hose for cleaning muddy tyres or boots is located in the fire pit wood store and a free drying service for clothes in the main house if the weather is unpredictable. There is also ample parking outside. A complimentary basket of wood, kindling and fire lighters is provided for your first fire in the fire pit. After which you can purchase a secondary basket for £5 or you are more than welcome to bring to your own. This boutique property is one of two listings spaced well away from each other (see also our Set in 40 Acres of Private Countryside in AONB or click on our profile to view our other cottage) and is set within the grounds of the owners farmhouse. The former granny annexe which overlooks the fire pit and lawn area is kept empty to ensure that guests privacy is maintained at all times. From this tranquil setting guests can explore the Royal Forest of Dean, enjoyable in all seasons, and the Lower Wye Valley, the magnificent borderland between England and Wales. The River Wye and Offas Dyke is 2 miles down the road and all the attractions of the Forest of Dean are within a 10 minute drive. Clearwell Caves, Puzzle Wood - a popular location for the ‘Dr Who’ series, the historic villages of St Briavels, with its ancient moated castle, and Tintern, renowned for its impressive Abbey are a short drive away.
With panoramic views across Mork Valley located between the tiny hamlets of Stowe and Mork, The Apple Loft is perfectly situated to explore all the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean has to offer. The River Wye and Offas Dyke are situated 1.8 miles down the road (also accessible via crossing our land then follow the secluded paths and yellow footpath signs to drop you straight down into Cadora woods to pick up the trail - so no need to even step out onto the road once) plus all the attractions of the Forest of Dean are within a 10 minute drive (see our guidebook for further info for attractions/what’s on/places to eat etc).
  • We had such a lovely stay at the Apple Tree Loft..we cant wait to go back. The local pub (The Butchers Arms) was our favourite place to eat..the food was amazing! Unfortunately the weather wasn’t the best so we didn’t get to see as much as we wanted too, but just relaxing in the apple tree loft was so nice. The views around the property were amazing the hosts were great, can’t wait to return and explore more.

  • Went with my girlfriend for a weekend away. We were blown away by this place. Superbly decorated and with an attention to detail I've never seen before. It was beautiful and equipped with just about every amenity you could think of. A welcome basket with lots of goodies from marshmallows to prosseco, and an info book that had everything in the area, most of which wasn't further than 20 minutes away due to the great location. It didn't have wi-fi but we didn't even need it, as we spent more time walking, cooking, and drinking by the fire, the things you SHOULD be doing on a getaway. Well impressed and would definitely book again.

    Owen2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect, from the minute it was booked we knew we made the right choice, Jenny and Jemima were perfect hosts, very friendly and so welcoming. In regards to the property we couldn’t believe how clean it was, there was not one thing we could fault about this place and the extra touches like the hamper we received on arrival was such a nice thought. Everything you could need was there and there was so much information for stuff to do in the local area, we will be staying here again without a doubt.

    Harry2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I can not recommend this place enough, from the house itself to the lovely owners. The views are spectacular whatever the weather, and you have everything you need there to enjoy a relaxing break away. Very clean, and beautifully decorated. The hosts couldn’t do enough and were very helpful and informative about the surrounding areas. We would love to come back again.

    Claire2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Apple Loft exceeded our expectations. It was spotless and we were so impressed with both the quality of the cottage and the thoughtful touches and extras put in by Jenny and Jemima. They seem to have thought of everything, down to the last detail. The kitchen was stocked with tea, coffee, sugar, milk and an amazing welcome hamper full of treats...which was very much appreciated! We had a fantastic experience and have great memories of enjoying the stunning views through the window. We also thoroughly enjoyed meeting their pet sheep. Jenny and Jemima were fantastic hosts. Their communication throughout the booking process was brilliant. We felt extremely well looked after throughout our stay as they were on hand if we needed anything. We had a wonderful time and we honestly cannot recommend staying at Apple Loft enough. Thank you both.

    Natalie2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The property is so beautiful and stylish, it is clear that great attention to detail has been applied throughout. Lovely touches throughout for extra comfort. Gorgeous views from the barn style windows and amazing amenities. The pictures show a lovely location however they really don’t do this amazing property justice. Can’t wait to book and return. 10/10

    Laura2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for our stay - what a wonderful property and great hosts!

    Tim2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • The best Airbnb either of us have ever stayed in. Beautiful, cozy space perfect for a weekend away from the city. The hosts were really friendly and flexible re check-in and check-out and all communication was smooth. Being off the grid with no WiFi and signal was a blessing and gave us the peace of mind and the chance to switch off that we needed to make the most of such a lovely property and part of the world.

  • Fab value for money

    Abby2020-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • A really lovely, cosy annex. The location was beautiful and ideal for what we planned to do in the area. Lesley was really friendly and helpful with local tips and a lovely surprise gift package when we arrived. Would love to visit again and would recommend to anyone looking for a little retreat into the countryside!

    George2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Willow Annexe was delightful. At arrival we were greeted by the two very friendly cats. The studio is very cosy with a wonderful view to the forest. We were impressed by the gifts left for us and the attention to detail that Lesley has put into it. The place is equipped with everything you need (kettle, microwave and a little stove with a pan, if you need to prepare something). Even though we have not met Lesley, she responded quickly to our messages and allowed us a late check-out, which is very good on a lazy Sunday morning. We recommend visiting Wye Valley and all of its surroundings. It is a perfect place for a romantic get-away in the countryside. Highly recommended.

    Ion2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place. So lush and cosy. The perfect place for a romantic weekend or for that lovely comfy feeling after a hard day at work Perfectly located..and the little gifts were a joy. Will most definitely be returning, with my partner next time. Highly recommend.

Fully furnished holiday cottage with BBQ and separate garden.
Plenty of pubs and restaurants within 3 miles of us . The town's of Abergavenny and Monmouth are only about 7 miles away both of which have cinemas and theatres. There are Castles and Abbeys to visit locally . The town of Bleanavon has a mining museum where you can also go down into the old mines with guided tours. The Brecon Beacons are not far away for those that like to walk there is also the Sugar Loaf and the Black Mountains locally , the walk along the local canal in Abergavenny can also be completed while trying out the canal boat rides for those that prefer it . Coarse fishing can also be catered for locally
  • Lovely location and the property is much bigger than it looks in the photos. The kitchen is well stocked for self catering and the sheets were also of a very good quality. I would recommend this Air BnB.

    Emma2020-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • The photos cannot do this place justice, it was so much bigger than anticipated but also so cost and homely. The fire was a delight. It was the perfect location to have a break from Corona-virus. So isolated and didn't see another person (apart from Zoe and Merv who are lovely) the whole time. Lovely walk so on the door step. Please please stay here in the next few months.

  • This cottage is very large and nicely laid out. It's in a lovely quiet spot, yet extremely accessible. I stayed for work so I didn't get out but there are plenty of attractions very close by. I would recommend abergavenny town, walks up the mountains or The Big pit is also surprisingly interesting. Also close by is Raglan play barn and farm which is awsome for kids. The cottage had everything I needed and I would definitely stay again. Thanks! Wendy

The Annexe, Green Meadow Farm The Annexe is a stone faced modern, light, well appointed, self-contained living space situated on a private gated property with ample parking. It is located in the small hamlet of Llandevenny, being approximately one mile from the village square of Magor, Monmouthshire. Magor has village shops, pubs, and restaurants.
It is a new build that is open plan, with a fully fitted kitchen, including washing machine, American Fridge Freezer, microwave oven and all things needed for a fully functioning kitchen. The lounge area is spacious with ample, comfortable seating, multi fuel burning stove and underfloor heating throughout. The bedroom has a king sized bed, double wardrobe, chest of drawers and full length mirror. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and is again well appointed. Outside the front of the property is a large patio area looking on to the front lawn – the patio has seating along with a patio table and chairs, there is also a BBQ provided. The Annexe and grounds are non - smoking. A Welcome Book with all local information is available in the Annexe . WiFi is available. There is bike storage inside the Annexe (wall mounted Cyclock which is above second bike stand) There is a bike cleaning area with hosepipe / pressure washer.
We are located in rural Monmouthshire but close enough to take advantage of the easily accessible motorway links – M4 motorway junction 23A, approximately one mile from the Annexe. (Cash Point Facilities at the Magor Services). The Annexe is close to the M4 motorway which places the likes of Cardiff, Bristol and Newport in easy reach. Cardiff and Cardiff Bay (23 miles), Bristol (22 Miles), Newport (10 miles), Abergavenny (27 miles), Chepstow (11 miles) and Monmouth (25 miles). Locally, there are quiet country roads and lanes on the historic Gwent levels. The Magor Marsh wetland reserve and sea wall that runs along the Severn Estuary are nearby. A little further away is the RSPB Newport Wetlands Nature Reserve. Those with sporting ambitions may take advantage of the quiet roads that incorporate the National Cycle Network. The Newport International Sports Village and Velodrome is about 6 miles away and the Celtic Manor Resort, offering three golf courses including the 2010 Ryder Cup course, is a similar distance. St Pierre Hotel and Country Club, also with its golf course is nearby. The County of Monmouthshire has a lot to offer the visitor – the historic castles of Chepstow and Raglan to name but two, the impressive Tintern Abbey located in the stunning Wye Valley. The Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons are areas of natural beauty to explore.
  • We loved staying at Sally's property. The annexe is really amazing: from the fireplace, to the TV and DVDs and of course Alfie the dog was really nice, he was wandering around the yard and sometimes joined us while we were eating something outside. Definitely will stay here again when we go back to Wales

    Giovanni2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place to stay in, truely one of a kind, so clean, with everything you need. Sally is an amazing host also! Love this place and will definitely be back. Absolutely fab and can not fault!!

    C T2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • This property is just stunning! There is so much more space than what you initially think when looking at the pictures on here. It really is sparkling clean with everything you could hope for during a stay. We stayed here during ‘lockdown’ which really made us realise how equipped the property is eg, big fridge, big freezer, washing machine, great tv, a to die for bathroom and a gorgeous wood burner! Sally is a brilliant host who was rapid with her communication and making sure we had enough direction to find the property and made check in so easy. I would definitely recommend staying here, you’re not too far from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet you feel as though you’re super snug out in the country! A perfect getaway! We would without doubt visit again! A huge thanks to Sally & Ty!

    Sam2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Annexe was perfect; spotlessly clean, well-situated and lovely surroundings, yet only 5 minutes from the motorway. Sally is a very welcoming host, without being intrusive, and the welcome pack was a nice touch. For a couple wanting a fab self-catering base to explore Wales, this is it!

  • Another amazing and wonderful stay at our home from home. A true hidden gem with fabulous hosts. Looking forward to next time already!!

  • Had a great time staying here. The property is really nicely decorated with high quality furnishings throughout. The bed was very comfortable and there was an adjustable thermostat to ensure we had the right temperature. The location is fantastic as it's very close to a number of interesting places. The price was the icing on the cake. Getting to stay in such a wonderful property for the price of a stay in a premier Inn was fantastic!

A romantic country retreat in the heart of the Wye Valley on the edge of the Forest of Dean. An ideal base for exploring all the fantastic activities and sites that the local area has to offer. Whether you enjoy mountain biking, rambling, canoeing, or soaking up some English and Welsh heritage - the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean really do have something for everyone. We will happily answer any questions you have about the local area to ensure you get the most out of your stay.
This beautifully and sympathetically, renovated cosy cottage is nestled in the village of Redbrook and literally sits on the England & Wales border - the border is a brook that runs through a culvert under the cottage so you can take a shower in England and then make yourself a cup of tea in Wales! The cottage is equipped to a high standard with everything you'll need for a comfortable stay and a relaxing holiday. With upside down living, you'll find the cosy bedroom downstairs with a luxury king-size bed and underfloor heating, plus a double ended bath and power shower to help you unwind after a long day exploring. Upstairs the open plan kitchen and living area provides all mod-cons to make your stay as comfortable as possible, and there is an upstairs private decking area with a BBQ so you can sit out and enjoy the view across the valley whilst listening to the brook babbling by.
Redbrook is a small village on the England/Wales border, which sits on the shores of the River Wye. The cottage is a 5 minute stroll into the centre of the village where you will find a fantastic village shop, a village green and 2 pubs (one in England, one in Wales - which makes for a great atmosphere during the Rugby!) It is just 2 miles from the historical market town of Monmouth and has many local attractions. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area which has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
  • I challenge you to find a more beautiful cottage. Everything about it – from the stained glass window to the stream running under the house – makes it such a special little place. The village is within walking distance, but the area is so quiet that we managed to sleep in until about 11am one morning. The surrounding countryside is breathtaking and ideal for long walks. We also befriended a rabbit which came to visit us on the decking in the evenings. Rebecca was lovely, really helpful, and even left us milk, butter, brownies and a couple of eggs from her chickens (delicious, thank you). We will most certainly be back.

    Katherine2020-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn’t recommend this place enough, Rebecca goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is exceptional, the house speaks for itself and is like a fairytale, perfect spot for two and well thought out attention for detail in the decoration. Absolutely amazing !!!!!

    Daisy2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation was excellent, very clean and had everything you could possibly need, it’s nice and close to the village and local pubs. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again in the future.

  • Thank you so much for such a beautiful stay. Homemade brownies, fresh eggs, loads of ideas of stuff to do and the most beautiful, clean little cottage. We’ll be back. Keith and Evie x

  • Perfect spot to stay at.

    Nathan2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had the most relaxing weekend at this beautiful cottage in the Wye Valley. Leading up to out stay we were concerned about the flooding in the area, however Rebecca was fantastic at keeping in contact and updating us on the road closures. The cottage was everything we could have wished for and provided us with the perfect retreat in the countryside. It was clean, comfortable and the little touches of eggs from their hens and home made banana bread made us feel very welcome. We loved our stay and would recommend it to anybody, and we will definitely be booking to stay again in the future.

  • Clive is a great host and five springs was a fantastic space!! Thank you

    Adam2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Set in spectacular scenery the cottage is a little piece of heaven in the Welsh countryside. Clive was helpful from the first communication and continued to be as we settled in. We were then left alone in private, safe in the knowledge if we needed him, he was just next door. The cottage itself is stunning, with all the amenities you expect, and then some. I could go on about the jacuzzi and the sauna (which were both very heavily utilised during our stay), but it's the little things, like helpful hints about the area, books and DVDs and fresh free range eggs that mades the stay so special. The sheer tranquility of the place is evident by the wild stag and deer that visit the garden, and are a sight to behold. My wife and I had just got married the day before we arrived at the cottage, and this was the perfect start to our honeymoon, and to our life together. I cannot recommend Clive and his stunning home highly enough.

    Mark2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Five Springs is a lovely place to stay while exploring the local woodlands, we'd be happy to return!

    Michael2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautiful and spotlessly clean with everything you might need. Clive has invested lots of time to provide information about the local area and maps etc which was so valuable and much appreciated. We loved the spa room and after a long walk a sauna and jacuzzi were the perfect way to end the day. There are lots of thoughtful touches throughout the cottage that also enhanced our stay. The local area is beautiful for walking and the Brecons within easy reach. There is so much to do and we would love to visit again and explore more of the area. Clive was a fantastic host and it was a pleasure to visit and we will be hoping to book again very soon.

  • The house was a little tricky to find, not least because two separate Satnav systems took us to two separate (wrong) locations. However once we found the house the room was spotlessly clean and exactly as described. The bed was comfortable, and even at the height of one of the stormiest nights of the year (Storm Dennis) and we had a great night's sleep. Our host could not have been more welcoming, despite being understandably distracted looking for her lost puppy.

  • Beautiful building. So lovely to come back to after our days out. Harriet always responded quickly to requests and questions and that made a huge difference to our trip. The flat was so clean. Our baby is crawling everywhere and putting everything in her mouth and I felt more relaxed about that here than at home! Farm shop and cafe next door were lovely. We didn't go until the day we were leaving and wished we had gone earlier. Lovely for gifts and if you're staying in and cooking there are some lovely options. Really comfy sofas if you're staying in at all and comfy bed. We had everything we needed to cook and we were able to do a load of washing which was really helpful with a baby. It was very quiet so a very relaxing place to chill out. We would definitely stay again.

Charming spacious open-plan Studio in the heart of Monmouthshire. Perfect location for accessing the Wye Valley, Vale of Usk, Cardiff and Bristol. Lovely pub nearby. The outstanding 4-star living accommodation is open-plan with a fitted kitchen area, and a loft-style mezzanine bedroom level. Just drop us a message to get a link to our full 3D walk-through of the property.
The Studio benefits from a wooden floor and large-scale custom made and double-glazed timber framed windows and is decorated in muted Farrow & Ball greens and creams. Furnishing is in a modern country style. We have also fitted a modern and clean luxury kitchen and shower room with all new appliances, which will hopefully make your stay as comfortable as possible. The Studio is equipped with a flat screen Freeview television / DVD player (with iPod / MP3 connectivity) and a CD player / radio. There is a gas 'coal flame' stove to supplement the central heating and make for cosy nights in during winter. A tiled internal entrance porch makes a good place to shed muddy boots and to hang coats. There is also a small patio area with a beautiful view of the church and the centre of the village. There is ample space to store bikes or golf clubs, either in the entrance porch (or we can provide additional space should it be required). All bed linen, towels, gas, electricity and use of Studio washing machine are included. WiFi is free too and 20+mbps. The Studio is annexed to our family home but with its own private entrance so you can have as much privacy as you like but with the comfort that we are just next door if you need any help or recommendations. There is ample free parking on the road outside the Studio. The Studio is strictly no smoking. Cyclists? We have room for bike storage too!
The Studio is surrounded by beautiful countryside, particularly popular with walkers and cyclists. The pretty stone-built village of Shirenewton is a excellent centre for exploring the Wye and Usk valleys, the Brecon Beacons and the Forest of Dean. Although we are only 5 miles from the Severn Bridge (with fantastic access to Bristol and Cardiff) you will find that we are well and truly in the country with the advantages of a thriving village with three pubs (including a gastro pub less than 50 metres walk away and another that serves very good home-cooked food). Keen walkers will find several easy walks mapped from the house and we have equipped The Studio with maps and guides books to the surrounding area. Cyclists will find the area very rewarding, both for road cycling and mountain biking in nearby Wentwood. Golfers will find the famous St Pierre course 4 miles away and the 2010 Ryder Cup venue Celtic Manor 11 miles away. We can also arrange for tennis players to use the members’ village tennis court. Chepstow Racecourse is less than 4 miles away. If you love castles you will also love Monmouthshire! There is a lot more information on the village and the surrounding area available on the Shirenewton Village website.
  • A stunning studio that offered everything and more than we needed. Perfect little gifts on arrival and a fabulous few days away especially in the current climate. Spotlessly clean, warm and in a great location to explore the local area. All round an amazing break. Will return for sure.

  • Sarah and Omar have created a beautiful studio to enjoy, even though the weather didn’t play ball when we were down it was still lovely as we got to enjoy our time in the studio even more. Really appreciated the extra touches which meant we didn’t have to immediately dash out to find the shops as well. Would absolutely love to pay the studio a visit again in the future!

    Cherise2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Sarah’s and Omar’s residence. Their place is super comfy and feels homely. Spotless house all the way and some sweet attentions left for us. It was the perfect refuge for our trip into Gloucestershire, Monmouthshire and Cardiff. Easy and fast communication. Thumbs up! We definitely love Wales and the Welsh nation!!!

Our house overlooks the River Severn and is a stone's throw from the Severn Bridge. Built in the 17th century, originally as two cottages, the space has plenty of character and is completely private with access to the garden and outdoor seating areas with stunning views across the estuary. It has recently undergone total refurbishment and has underfloor heating throughout. The area regularly attracts bird spotters, fossil hunting enthusiasts and visitors to the old car ferry site.
The spacious entrance hall leads to a bedroom with a built in wardrobe, drawers, iPod docking station, television and DVD library. Next door is a newly refurbished bathroom with dual sinks, rain shower and beautiful views. Due to the property's hot water and heating system - air source heat pump - there is the occasional low hum from the fan outside the bedroom window. There is a sitting room overlooking the garden with piano, cross trainer, sofa and microwave. Tea and coffee are also available. There's on street parking just outside the drive, it's a very quiet and safe road so you'll be fine to leave your car there. Cyclists can bring their bikes inside and leave them in the entrance hall. Yoga enthusiasts can use our terrace and garden - we have a spare mat you’re welcome to use!
Historic Aust Ferry pier Famous red and white cliffs, the most productive Triassic site in the UK and home to many fossils Plenty of cycle routes, Thornbury is a 15 minute drive away and Chepstow just 10 minutes. Cribbs Causeway also a 10 minute drive. Severn View services, with Costa and Burger King is 2 minutes from the house.
  • A beautiful house with amazing views. Alex and Sarah were great hosts and really accommodating. We look forward to coming again

    Roisin2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Overall we were really happy, the location was great, we needed to be close to the NDAC and it was just a 10 minute drive from where we were. The bridge was closed a couple of times due to high winds, so we had to make a detour one or twice however we made sure to factor this in to our travel plans. The place was very clean, nice touch with the granola and coffee for the mornings, we didn't realise there was a toaster until we found it under the table. Sarah kindly offered to do some washing up for us, however would have be really nice to have had some washing up liquid to do it ourselves so we wouldn't have to bother the hosts. Overall we had a really lovely stay. Thank you.

    Charlie2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This space has amazing views, perched overlooking the Severn Estuary and ideally placed for great little walks. The hosts were great, very responsive and an abundance of thoughtful gestures. I hope to be back again.

  • Perfect location for exploring the area and stop off on route to Cornwall/Devon. Cosy cottage (with fantastic under floor heating) with amazing views over the Severn Estuary. Highly recommended, will definitely return. Thank you Alex and Sarah

17th Century cottage in the heart of Chepstow, close to Offa's Dyke & the Wye Valley.
Small but perfectly formed, Pineapple Cottage is a characterful little cottage that dates back to 1650 (we think!). It may be old, but it has all the mod-cons thanks to a recent refurb. There's Sky TV, WiFi and a wood burning stove*, as well as a washer/dryer and dishwasher. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a shower room. There are plenty of mirrors for getting ready and the shower room has a heated floor and a heated mirror! You won’t see it in the photos (that would ruin the surprise), but to find the second bedroom you’ll have to check for secret doors. Think The Lion The Witch and the... The Garden is small but private. It is heated, lit by fairy lights and has just enough room for four around the table. *feel free to use the wood burner, but you'll need to provide your own logs!
Being in the heart of historic Chepstow, there are restaurants, bars and cafes nearby with Chepstow Castle virtually on your doorstep! If you're heading to the races then its a 20 minute walk or 5 minutes in a taxi.
  • This is an absolute gem of a place to stay. The cottage is superbly situated right in the heart of old Chepstow, close to all the amenities. It is sparkling clean, with close attention to all the minor details that you need for an enjoyable stay. The cottage is warm and cosy and decorated in a delightful fashion!

    Jinty2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Joe's place is very central to the shops, castle and river. Although there is no parking, it is possible to park directly outside the front door initially without much fear of blocking anyone as it is short and very narrow street with no cars or garages. There is a car park 5 minutes walk away adjacent to the tourist information building and castle entrance. The car park 24 hour rate was very reasonable - £4.80 as I write. The house was very homely, snug and tasteful with eclectic features. The second bedroom was well disguised, as can be discovered! The house was well equipped with everything you would want in the kitchen and bathroom. Detailed information file with personal recommendations from host. Generally delightful.

    Paul2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cozy cottage. Very clean and well equipped. Really enjoyed the location as it was central. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • Highly recommend this charming, creative, beautifully designed home. High quality finishing but with a spirit for fun and holiday. We couldn't stop looking around in amazement at it all. Spectacular location with peekaboo views of chepstow castle and located on the most charming tiny street. The second bedroom's entrance will please your young'uns and young at heart!

    Amy2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing, quirky little place with such lovely finishing touches! Right in the heart of Chepstow with a gorgeous, homely but stylish feel. We loved it!

  • This is a great cottage in the town. Great location, great amenities and really good communication with Joe. Thanks so much!

  • This is as stylish as it looks in the pics. A lovely place, comfy bed, good shower, lovely fire and good TV. There is free road parking less than 5mins away, after you have pulled up outside to drop stuff off. Easy to use heating and a fun entrance with a Narnia wardrobe to access the spare oom! Great host and communication!

  • I had the best time staying at Karen and Gerald's place. It was an great place to stay and was very handy for work commitments. The location was even better than I thought, nice quiet spot by the coast and was very comfortable. The additional for allowing to bring my dog with me was a big relief and amazing. Overall, the lodge is a brilliant place to stay, very easy to get to and providing very nice local walks and shop nearby in walking distance. Karen and Gerald were extremely friendly and generous in all aspects to making my stay even better. I would definitely stay here again in future.

Located within the grounds of the owners’ family home, Wirewoods Green Manor, one of the most historic and prominent properties in the village of Tutshill. This spacious cottage benefits from a private patio area and access to a 1.5 acre paddock (perfect for the dogs!) with direct access to The Gloucestershire Way Footpath. A perfect location if you are looking to escape to the country and explore the beautiful Royal Forest of Dean but still be close to amenities. Walking distance to Chepstow.
The Coach House is very spacious with more than enough room for four people, a child or infant and up to 2 dogs. The cottage is full of history, originally built to house the coach and horses for Wirewoods Green Manor it still retains many original features including the stable stalls, large coach door and cobble stone entrance. There are stunning far reaching views towards the River Severn with many beautiful sunrises from the bedroom window. This warm, cosy cottage is finished and furnished to a high standard, crisp Egyptian cotton sheets, plump pillows and duvets adorn the beds, a large roll-top bath with shower and a fully equipped kitchen, espresso machine, wi-fi and wood burner make for a luxury stay. A large kitchen table and chairs provides plenty of room for family dining and entertainment. A welcome hamper along with all the essentials you may need such as a starter supply of tea, coffee, firewood and all bedding and towels are provided. The Coach House also benefits from an enclosed patio area with a table and chairs and BBQ and access into our large paddock (when there are no sheep there) which is perfect for dogs to have some lead-free time! There is direct access to The Gloucestershire Way footpath from the property. Conveniently located on the edge of the village of Tutshill, a short stroll to Toast a lovely little coffee shop, that serves delicious breakfasts, lunches and plenty of cakes. It is also open late on Friday evenings for a much needed glass of wine or a pint! The village also benefits from a well stocked village shop and a fantastic independent butcher. A slightly further walk (about 20 minutes) takes you into Chepstow for a wider range of shops, bars and restaurants. Ideal walking and cycling base for exploring the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, South East Wales and slightly further afield are Bristol, Gloucester, Cheltenham and Cardiff. Up to two dogs are very welcome. Bedroom 1 - King size bed Bedroom 2 - Twin beds Travel cot, high chair, stair gate and a range of baby and children’s toys are available. We love living in Tutshill, a pretty village on the English-Welsh borders. The local coffee shop, village stores, Butchers, park and church are all a short stroll away. It's a home away from home. We hope you'll feel cosy, comfortable and refreshed. The place is a brand new building, which feels light and airy. The Bathroom is downstairs, and the bedroom/ living space is upstairs. Parking is available in front of the property. Nearby: Rolls Royce, Air Bus, MOD, EE
The price reflects the fact that the accommodation not only has ample sleeping/living space but also has a fully functioning kitchenette and is value when compared to surrounding accommodation providers. A fridge and Microwave combination oven are also available for use, as is a kettle and toaster (& iron/ironing board). If you are staying for a few weeks, you're welcomed to use the washer and dryer in house.
We have a large park only 2 mins walk away, which is perfect for a morning jog or just to stretch your legs. Lots of shopping possibilities such as Tesco Express, Co-op, Sainsburys and some reasonable Chinese and Indian takeaways, not to mention the traditional Fish & Chips.
  • The place is simply amazing: the standards, the finishings, the comfort, the cleanliness and the multiple thoughtful details. Carlina is an attentive and accesible host. I had a great stay and highly recommend to anyone.

Breakfast is laid out beautifully in the kitchen with an assortment of cereals plus nuts, fruit, yoghurt and bread with various spreads. The radio plays classic FM gently in the background. • The house is lovely. Sonja thinks in all details to make you confortable and feel yourself at home. The room is confortable and it's a silent neibourghood. I surely recommend this house as one of the best options to stay in Newport.

  • Everything we wanted for our weekend away. Perfect location. Clean and bright. Lots of lovely extra touches (especially the Welsh Cakes). Access to the property was really straightforward.

  • Beautiful cottage, very clean. Ideal for a couple. Has all you could want, kitchen, lunge area, comfortable bed. Ideally located to explore the Wye Valley. Highly recommend.

  • A cosy, nicely decorated cottage right in the centre of Chepstow. We arrived on a cold and miserable Friday night, my first thoughts were of getting warm. Charlotte has an information guide for guests, with the operation of the central heating being the first thing to read. All very straight forward and the cottage was cosy in no time. The kitchen is well equipped, the lounge is really comfortable, the shower was great and the bed just perfect.

    John2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Charlotte’s place is lovely! In a perfect spot in Chepstow, very close to everything you need, including transport hubs. The place was beautiful, clean, and there were some lovely personal touches, too. Thank you, guys!

  • This little cottage exceeded our expectations. It was incredibly clean and welcoming. It felt like we were at home straight away. The location is perfect and is from walking distance from the castle. We loved our stay.

  • Charlotte is a great host, and helped us out with staying an extra night when Storm Dennis was causing shenanigans on the train lines. The place was spotless as ever, and great value too. Will be back for sure!

    Ben2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Charlotte was a wonderful host and Carpenters cottage was handy for everything, a really convenient location. Such a pretty little home, the thoughtful touches made it extra special! Welsh cakes, coffee, tea and milk were all available. Loved the colour scheme of grey and mustard yellow furnishings throughout, the comfy bed and great shower. Easy access with key code and good parking in Hollins close (named after our ancestors!) We would highly recommend Charlottes place to other guests, Thank you!

  • Amazing..... Perfect long weekend away, great hosts and cottage couldn't fault it. Amazing walks on the door step. Once we get through this very difficult time would highly recommend puzzle tree cottage for a relaxing break and enjoy the great outdoors..

    Stephen2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was beautiful, cosy and had possibly one of the best equipped kitchens. Jenny and Jemima had put the heating on so that when we arrived in the late evening, we could cuddle up straight away with a glass of wine. There were some lovely touches with milk, eggs and biscuits there for us to use. There was a folder full of info on the cottage and excellent tips on the local area. On our second day we were able to walk straight from the cottage out towards the Wye Valley, completing a loop along Offa's Dyke to Tintern and then back along the Wye Valley Walk. Well worth it! Lovely place to stay - you'd be daft not to book!

    Kathryn2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely brilliant time at Puzzle Tree. The welcome was immediate and appreciated. The cottage was spotless, beautiful and with all the amenities you would expect plus more. Jenny and Jemima have created a warm and comfortable space to escape from it all and the added touches like milk, welcoming chocolates and the easy to use information book were greatly appreciated. This cottage is also located close to beautiful walks and places of historical importance like Tintern Abbey, definitely worth a look if not yet seen. We can highly recommend a break at Puzzle Tree Cottage. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

    Simon2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a relaxing and wonderful stay at puzzle tree cottage. It was a warm and cosy place, well stocked with lots of thoughtful touches. Lovely views and wildlife around. The hosts J and J were incredibly friendly and easy to reach if needed. We would love to visit again!

    Marie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny and Jemimas place is a beautifully appointed. It has everything you could possibly need for a perfect stay. It was spotlessly clean and had obviously been well thought through. The location is off the beaten track charming. With peace and quiet if you want it, but plenty to do if you want to explore. I would thoroughly recommend

    David2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place is spotlessly clean, everything you need in the kitchen, a bed you don't want to get out of, washing machine and easy to work heating to dry your riding clothes. Oh, did I mention I'm a mountain biker? there's Forest of Dean on the door step, Black mountains and Cwmcarn less then an hour away, Afan and BPW a bit further. There's a space to store the bikes and a hose to wash them. Not a place for you if you want to check your FB every 5 mins as there's no phone signal or wifi in the cottage (you can pick up a weak signal just outside or use Jenny's landline in an emergency. We'll be going back there later this year.

Very friendly & quiet neighbourhood. The village of Tutshill was the childhood home for famous Author JK Rowling. She attended Tutshill Church of England Primary School before moving on at the age of eleven to the nearby Wyedean School in Sedbury. Her childhood home, Church Cottage, a mid-19th century Gothic-style Grade II listed building designed by the architect Henry Woodyer, was put up for sale in 2011. The character Severus Snape in the Harry Potter books was partly based on Sylvia Morgan, a teacher at her primary school, and on one of her teachers at Wyedean School, John Nettleship. In the book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, a passage is set in the Forest of Dean, where Harry, Hermione and Ron are camping & discover the Sword of Gryffindor where it has been hidden by Snape. Tutshill is also the home of a fictional professional Quidditch team operating within the Harry Potter universe. The Tutshill Tornados are one of thirteen fictional Quidditch teams that play in the professional Quidditch League of Britain and Ireland that was established in 1674. The team players wear sky-blue robes emblazoned with a double "T" in dark blue on the chest & back. In the early 20th century the fictional team set a British and Irish record by winning the League Cup five times in a row.

  • Went with family including 6 and 3 year old and 6 month old. Was fantastic accommodation - clean, well laid out and in a beautiful location. Loads to do in the area with kids. Mike and Diana very easy to communicate with and really went the extra mile with all the lovely additions to the flat including food, toys, books and games. There was a cot and a high chair which was a big help too. We would definitely consider returning in the future! Great experience and great holiday!

  • My in-laws had a fantastic stay at Mike and Diana's place. Everything you could possibly need was made available and flexibility in check-in much appreciated. It was a quiet haven away from all the pre-wedding chaos! Thanks again Mike and Diana!

    Amelia2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent find; ideal location with lovely views across the valley. Perfect spot for walking, and lots of maps/walking books in the kitchen which we made good use of. The apartment had everything we needed, and was clean on our arrival. Mike sent through all the details we needed in good time, and it was a hassle-free stay. The apartment is really spacious - there were only two of us but even with four people there is plenty of space, with a large kitchen area, with sofas, plus another lounge with more sofas and a large dining table, and two bathrooms.

    Hannah2019-04-07T00:00:00Z
