Park
“What to say? One of the great parks of the United States. Just head down the hill to Kezar Stadium (at the very bottom of Willard Street) and you'll see the GGP right beyond it (walk around Kezar to the west to enter the park). You can also enter on Stanyan and Haight (and at many other points). Enjoy the Academy of Sciences, de Young Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, Stow Lake, the Conservatory of Flowers (great night time light shows in the summer and winter) and many, many other features of the park.”

Garden
“San Francisco’s Japanese Tea Garden is the oldest public Japanese garden in the country. The garden was created for an exhibition in 1894, when the exhibition closed a gentleman’s agreement was reached and the garden remained. As time went by the garden expanded to the size it is today, approximately 5 acres. Today the gardens are hugely popular with tourists who come to see the pagodas, stepping stones, arched bridges and native Japanese plants. There is also a koi pond and Zen garden. If you are hungry or thirsty on your visit you can stop for some traditional Japanese refreshments.”

Park
“Stunning vistas of San Francisco from the summit of Mount Tamalpais. Take the Highway 1 exit from 101 and follow Highway 1 to Panoramic Highway. Turn right (a very sharp turn) onto Panoramic. When you see Pantol Campround, turn right onto Pantol Rd. Then, turn right on East Ridgecrest Rd and follow it to the end to reach the East Peak of Mount Tamalpais. On the return you can continue on to the coast by staying on East Ridgecrest Rd which turns into West Ridgecrest Rd. It offers wonderful coastal views. West Ridgecrest Rd runs into the Fairfax Bolinas Rd. Turning left will take you to coastal Highway 1, turning right will take you to Alpine Lake, Fairfax and eventually back to Highway 101. The Fairfax Bolinas Rd. is a narrow curvy mountain road, drive carefully.”

“Stern Grove has a free concert every Sunday early afternoon during the summer. Look up the details online to see who is performing. Lake
“A man-made lake with over a century of rich history, Stow Lake is a great place to rent paddle boats and rowboats. Be sure to check out Strawberry Hill, a naturally formed island in the middle of the lake with great views of the surrounding park and the Golden Gate Bridge. Other surprising sites on this little island include an artificially made waterfall and a small pavilion that was a gift from the city of Taipei.”
