Nestled between large cedars and a giant maple, Owl’s Perch offers stunning views across the Salish Sea to the mountains of Washington state. This one of kind treehouse reaches 30 feet off the ground and has a full bathroom and kitchenette. The large deck is perfectly situated in the trees canopy and provides maximum privacy. Located along the Galloping goose trail only 5 minutes from Sooke city center and the Sooke Potholes. Owl’s Perch is the perfect place to stay for your island adventure!
This treehouse is like no other in the world. With a height of nearly 9 meters off the ground and attached to four large trees staying at the owl’s Perch treehouse is a one of a kind experience that you won’t soon forget.
The neighborhood is located on the Galloping Goose Trail, once a train track used by an old gold mining town. The treehouse is also near the Sooke Potholes Provincial Park, which offers freshwater swimming, waterfalls, wildlife, and pipe walks.
  • Super cute and cozy. Had a wonderful stay!

  • Just as charming in real life as it looks in the photos. The treehouse feels very private, but is still only minutes away from town. Lots of excellent hikes and natural splendour to admire in the area!

  • Pictures don’t do this place justice. The treehouse itself is absolutely beautiful and the town is such a wonderful place to spend a few days & get away. Although the space is small, it doesn’t feel that way. I highly recommend a trip out here, we’ll certainly be back!

  • This treehouse is amazing and, bar none, the best experience we've had using Airbnb. Its such a unique space that makes you feel like you're part of the woods while providing a cozy space with thoughtful touches to make it feel like a home. While the house itself is fairly small (perfect for couples) the space it does have is utilized very well. There is a ladder to get up to the bed but it tucks away nicely when not in use. The bathroom is just large enough to handle your business while at the same time boasting an amazing single shower (with a shower head that comes out of the ceiling. Again, smart use of space). The kitchen is fairly spartan with a sink, microwave and toaster oven, just enough to get your day started so you can go exploring the rest of Vancouver Island, or to heat up leftovers from the various great places to eat around town. Speaking of that, Amanda was a lovely host who had some wonderful recommendations for places to eat around town. We seriously didn't have a bad meal the entire time we were on the island. There were also lots of brochures and maps at the desk/table that had things to do and see all up and down Vancouver Island on them, which as a tourist and total newbie to Canada, much less BC or Vancouver Island was much appreciated. We would love to come stay here again and feel incredibly blessed to have enjoyed this space so thoroughly. 11/10, 6 stars out of 5, wonderful time.

  • Awesome space!

  • we fell in love with this place! when I first stumbled upon it on this site, I was astonished by its uniqueness, and when we finally arrived there, we were not disappointed! it's exactly how it looks on pictures but so much better at the same time, you can feel the love, care, thoughts that were poured into creation of this place. communication with Amanda was great. the process of getting there by public transit from downtown Victoria was easy. overall, perfect birthday getaway spot, highly recommend and cannot wait to be back!

  • Me and my partner had a wonderful stay at the treehouse. The space was beautiful, super clean, with great attention to detail throughout. Highly recommended for a peaceful and unique experience.

Oceanfront with a private beach, the Homestead is a year-round self-catering vacation home with spectacular views, a huge patio, a BBQ, fully equipped kitchen, and a Jacuzzi tub with an ocean view. Sunny summers, mild winters
The Homestead invites you to the best of Vancouver Island tourism: rugged luxury, the quiet of waves and seabirds, close enough to town to not miss amenities, remote enough to enjoy wilderness and solitude. On the remote edge of Sooke, our self-catering vacation home was constructed in 2000 of half-timbered logs from our property in the piece-en-piece style of Canada’s early settlers. You can span the centuries here back to a simpler time, without sacrificing a single modern luxury. Snuggle in the living room before the fireplace, reading, listening to the stereo, or (horrors!) watching television.
We at the Homestead, Beaches West, want to be sure that your stay is as exceptional an experience as possible. Coming to a beautiful, remote, private beach front cottage is a relaxing and rejuvenating vacation. Being close to world class hiking, ocean kayaking, cycling, whale watching, makes the experience all the better. Local attractions include fishing charters, hiking, mountain biking, surfing, art galleries, whale watching, fine dining, and beach combing.
  • Comfy cozy an amazing few. Very well done

    Val2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • The Place is one of a kind. It is right at the sea. You can do wildlife watching right from your porch :-). The Cottage offers everything you need, even if you want to stay longer. The cottage is about a 7 min drive from Sooke away.

    Michael2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The scenery of this property is second to none—a true gem and oasis, even in an area as holistically stunning as Vancouver Island. How special to wake up to otters playing by the beach and seals laying on the dock. The breweries, cafes, hikes, and restaurants in the area were amazing as well: highly recommend Bad Dog Brewing and Stoked Pizza. We plan to return to Sooke year in and year out. Note that it’s self check-in with a key-pad.

    Anna2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • The view is spectacular and well worth the stay. We enjoyed the rustic cabin feel with all the necessary amenities. We would stay here again!

    Katherine2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute, cozy cabin and an amazing location. Great wildlife too—saw tons of otters and seals right from the cabin. Highly recommended!!

    Marshall2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Was a great stay for two , nothing was misrepresented and the place was better than expected. It's a great even in winter as you can enjoy the view from inside. 5 minute drive to anywhere in sooke, which means you can easily try the local restaurants if you choose not to cook much like we did. Only word of caution is that the mattress is ultra firm and the bed frame could use some lubrication(sturdy, but squeaky). All things aside, great value and we didn't want to leave when checkout time came. I would definitely book another stay .

Come feed the Alpacas and relax! Beau Mountain is a quaint modern cottage nestled in the West Coast Hills. Your view overlooks the Juan de Fuca Strait, Olympic Mountains and an Alpaca Farm where you can hand feed the friendly Alpacas at the bottom of your private steps. Wake up and enjoy a cup of coffee from your breakfast bar, private rooftop patio overlooking the ocean, or outdoor kitchen in the trees. The fire pit will keep you toasty at night! The Ocean Cliffs are just a short walk away!
The cottage has a Boutique Hotel feel but in the trees. It is 200 square feet with a private 150 square foot rooftop patio and private gas fire pit. You can prepare meals and relax in the outdoor kitchen while you take in the views of the ocean.
The neighbourhood is quiet, on the end of a private road, and lends itself to a peaceful stay.
  • Great place to relax, bbq, feed the Alpacas and hang out on the roof top! Just what we needed. Thank you!

    Shellina2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is as lovely as it looks in the photos. Stylish decor, incredible view, especially from the upper deck. The highlight though is the Alpaca experience. Upon arrival you see a large basket of veggies. As soon as you pick up this basket, 5 gorgeous Alpacas hustle up to the lower steps and enjoy being fed almost as much as you enjoy feeding them. A great experience!

    Brenda2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jess's place was delightful in every way. It offers a really special experience, combining lovely views, an outdoor kitchen, a cosy bedroom space, a rooftop patio, alpaca feeding (alpaca food provided), and a unique hummingbird feature wall. In the afternoon we walked to Otter Point Park and explored the rocks. At night we saw the most amazing starry sky while ensconced in the rooftop reclining chairs. Inside we read the Far Side compendium from cover to cover. Jess was super responsive to every one of our questions and went out of her way to be sure we were comfortable and happy. We will always remember our stay.

    Joyce2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jess's place is incredible! Great views, very comfortable and stylish cottage. Were 100% coming back! Thank you Jess

    Bárbara2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jess’ home made for an absolutely unforgettable stay! We felt so comfortable, relaxed and even spoiled. We very much appreciated all of her thoughtful and personalised touches and local tips - it made our trip and time in Canada extra awesome! Feeding the alpacas in the morning was also something truly special. Thank you again, Jess!

    Olesya2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Really unique spot, the outdoor kitchen space can be colder in the winter months. But the Alpacas don't seem to mind the rain! And are a wonderful greeting every morning. The cabin is clean, warm, and quiet.

    Ainsley2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at Jess’ AirBnB. Her thoughtful touches and attention to detail was refreshing and made for a particularly enjoyable stay. Last but not least, the alpacas - we are now alpaca converts. They stole the show! Must see: East Sooke Coast Trail, Hidden Waterfall at Sombrio Beach and neighbouring Juan de Fuca Trail to Sombrio Point. Must eat: Shirley Delicious

    Rana2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • First off. Waking up to feed alpacas some carrots and Bok Choy was the highlight of this trip. Jess provides us with local tips and places to eat that really made our trip very enjoyable. A local home to see some otters at otter point is also fun. I highly recommend This stay. Lots of thoughtful touches.

A beautiful haven, lost in the woods, found by the sea, surrounded by quiet - the WilderGarden Covehouse is a beguiling retreat for those looking for ... something else. Close to parks and on Galloping Goose trail. Walk to pub or bus stop, 10 min drive to Sooke, 40 min to Victoria, ferry. Sheltered from storms, on a private cove, the Covehouse has a cedar and glass deck, BBQ, dock, hot tub with view and ocean access. Ideal for couples, cyclists, paddlers, nature lovers, families, or business.
WilderGarden maintains very high standards of care and hygiene for your safety and protection. See below under Other Things for more details. The Covehouse is a uniquely designed 900+ sq-ft cottage - an octagonal structure with a vaulted, lodge-pole ceiling, cedar shiplap walls, built around a central wood-fired stove with a 20' tall central chimney - plus a separate studio bedroom with stove. A sleeping loft with queen bed and generous living area with two sofa beds give it an open, spacious feel. It features a full kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, as well as laundry, dining table for up to 6, and bathroom with shower. Tall wrap-around windows feature the ocean, hills, coves and trees. Its all-wood and glass construction blends the cottage into the surrounding forest. It also has a small double bunk room for children or extra adults. The adjoining master bedroom studio has a queen teak bed, desk, extra sleeping palette, all-glass art/crafts room, and dozen windows offers additional space and privacy. A large cedar deck seamlessly connects the inside to the outdoors and beyond. The main space and loft offers electric baseboard heat as well as the wood stove. The bedroom studio has a wood stove and an electric oil heater. Both queen beds have heating pads for cool nights and cuddle-bed toppers for extra coziness. Baby gates are available to help with families for stairs to loft and on the deck.
The surrounding area is overflowing with opportunities for cycling, hiking, fishing, water sports, horseback riding, zipline, and other adventures. The popular Galloping Goose trail runs right by the cottage. Nearby regional parks include Sooke Potholes, East Sooke, Lake Matheson, Roche Cove, French and China Beaches. Sooke Basin and Juan de Fuca Strait are out the front door - freshwater fishing in Veitch and Roche Creeks are walking distance away. A pub and several restaurants are quite nearby by car or bicycle.
  • Loki and Kara"s place is an exceptional location to visit. A "rare find" as Airbnb describes a place like this. The location is just perfect for everyone who loves nature. It is extremely quiet yet not far away from everything you need. The communication has been outstanding and Loki has been responding to our requests in minutes. We also received very nice tips on what to do which brought us to have a nice homemade Dungeness crab dinner. I can only recommend this place. Thank you for having us.

    Dirk2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at the Cove House was a WONDERFUL experience. The house and setting are so special, its placement on the water, with lovely views and surrounded by forest. And Loki and Kara have really gone above and beyond with comfort, amenities and suggestions for what to do in the area. If arriving at a rustic cabin to find the bed warmers on, the hot tub ready to go and hummingbird's flitting about, then you will enjoy this place as much as we did.

    Jennifer2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed The Covehouse and its wonderful location. Quiet, isolated, on the waterfront, with coves to explore. The cottage was sparkling clean and well equipped and so cozy. Kara and Loki have thought of everything to make your stay special. We didn't want to leave! Thank you so much. A truly magical place with so many areas to explore nearby. We hope to return.

    Karen2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Covehouse is genuinely one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Absolutely worth every penny and will 100% be back at some point. Everything from the Ipad on the wall to the hot tub overlooking the waterfront makes this place the only place I'd want to stay at in Sooke, or on Vancouver Island in general. Loki and Kara are great hosts and although we didn't require anything from them, they seemed extremely prepared for every possible situation that could occur and I appreciate that in a host.

    Christian2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start!? Loki and Karas place was more than we could have ever expected! We came way too over prepared because they had any and everything you could ever need! From kitchen equipment, utensils, spices, condiments, plates, tongs, seriously unreal! We came to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. Solely to relax and just have some nice quality alone time without the kids or pets and that is exactly what we got! Completely secluded, tons of beautiful birds to watch while enjoying the deck and THE HOT TUB over looking ocean, wow! That is quite possibly the most gorgeous view we have ever experienced on the island. Loki and Kara were gracious hosts, the cove house is truly a breathtaking place for the perfect getaway. We are already planning our next trip. Thank you again for having us. Til next time wildergarden!🥰❤️

    Tanisa & Cory2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! We arrived at night time and could not see how amazing this place was. We let our host know that we had just gotten married and they left a lovely message and a bottle of Prosecco for us! When we arrived I received our hosts’ private cell phone number and Kara answered quickly. I felt like I had a friend, but at the same time our privacy was absolutely respected giving us that secluded feeling we hoped for. In previous reviews I read that there was a pub that was walking distance away and it is...but if you want to walk at night, I recommend walking to the end of the long driveway and ask for a taxi to come get you. The walk felt dangerous at night with cars whipping by, we had to walk on the shoulder of the road. The taxi cost $7.00. Our host tried to warn us while we were already making the trek for an alternate walking route. The bar is very cool and worth going to! Through text message Kara answered my million questions about potential excursions and what bird I was looking at. The birds!! I was amazed by the diversity, though my attempts to have them eat from my hand were unsuccessful. This place has a rustic feeling with the luxury of first class amenities (washer and dryer, dishwasher, google home etc). We got married at the Wickinannish the day before we arrived and this place so I would know good quality and this exceeded met my expectations. I hope to one day return, thank you Kara and Loki!

  • This place is absolutely amazing. You feel secluded and in your own Vancouver Island world while being close to everything still. Great hosts, great location, and amazing views and trails right out the front door. If you ever wonder where Roy Henry Vickers gets the colour ideas for his paintings it’s probably from the deck and hot tub of this place.

    Conor2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • A real gem! Everything you need is readily available for use. Wonderful open space with lots of birds to add to the view. The hosts are great and give good tips on sightseeing activities. Comfortable beds and the loft library is amazing - had all my favourite authors. Can’t wait until we return.

"Woodstock" is our family-built oceanfront one-bedroom cottage in Sooke. When you walk out the sliding patio door you are 30 feet from the water's edge, with 180 degree views of the ocean. South facing so it is sunny all day.
It is a stone's throw, literally, from the ocean. Fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves, and wake up to spectacular sunrises over the straight of Juan de Fuca with the snow capped Olympic Mountains in the background. Watch seals hunt and eat salmon on the rocks outside your front door, as eagles soar overhead. It is small but has a 3 piece bathroom, and is equipped with all the amenities you need.
We want to be sure that your stay is as exceptional an experience as possible. Coming to a beautiful, remote, private beach front cottage is a relaxing and rejuvenating vacation. Being close to world class hiking, ocean kayaking, cycling, whale watching, makes the experience all the better. Local attractions include fishing charters, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, surfing, art galleries, whale watching, fine dining, and beach combing.
  • A fabulous, cosy location for its views and access to the beach. If you are lucky you may even get visits by sea otters and seals to the pontoon out the front. Chloe was quick to respond and everything was as described. Thank you, we would love to visit again.

    Rita2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Chloé & Danial's place is a perfect spot for a quiet, cozy stay on the west coast. It's easy to get to yet secluded. Would definitely stay here again!

    Dale2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin by the sea was perfect for a romantic getaway. The whole place has a lot of privacy and the views of the Juan de Fuca straight and Olympic mountains are stunning. Plenty of opportunities to see wildlife, too. The first day we had a group of otters on the pontoon beyond the beach, and the second day a seal came to pay us a visit. The cabin itself is extremely cosy with a fire and full kitchen for self-catering. Amazing find.

Our 2 bedroom fully equipped beach house has it all for the perfect vacation: 1.5 acres of land, 50 metres of beach looking over the Juan de Fuca Straits; the feeling of wilderness yet just 10 minutes to shops and restaurants in Sooke.
Poirier Cove is just right for a family vacation, a romantic getaway or fun with friends. The private beach is perfect for picnicking, watching wildlife visitors in the bay, swimming out to the bird rock, or setting off for a paddle. You can scramble up the rock to watch the sunset - or the sunrise. There are two expansive lawns for badminton, croquet or soccer. There's a firepit for roasting hot dogs or marshmallows - or keeping warm when the sun sets. And then there's the view, which always seems to be changing. Away in the distance, over the Juan de Fuca straits, you can see the snow-capped mountains of Olympic national park. You can spend a day quite happily with a pair of binoculars watching birds squabble over their place on the rock in the middle of the bay, spotting bald eagles and ospreys, or waiting for the seal family to visit - perhaps even a passing whale. Or you can set off to explore the wild west coast of Vancouver Island. Inside the kitchen, sitting room and dining room all look out over the ocean. The kitchen has everything you need if you choose to eat in. The dining table seats 6, and the comfortable living room has a fireplace. You'll find a woodpile next to the garage. We've left plenty of board games and books for evenings around the fire, but there's also wifi and TV if you prefer. The master bedroom has a queen bed, the other has twin beds, and there's hideaway bed to put anywhere you want. Poirier Cove is a short drive from Sooke's shops and restaurants; miles of sandy beaches; west coast rain forest - or 45 minutes to downtown Victoria. The ideal place for a vacation!
The location of Poirier Cove is incredible - the view spectacular. But Sooke, just 10 minutes down the road has everything you need, including one of Canada's finest restaurants. 15 minutes up the road the other way you'll find miles of sandy beaches at French Beach or China Beach - and the start of the Juan de Fuca trail. If you like to bike, you can pick up the Galloping Goose trail just east of Sooke, and head off for an adventure up to the Sooke potholes. If it's a hot day you'll welcome the swim. Fishing, kayaking, biking, hiking - all on your doorstep. Victoria is only 45 minutes away. The BC Royal Museum is great; the bug museum fun for the kids; and walking around the harbour watching the boats and street performers is a fun way to spend the day. Poirier Cove is well located on Vancouver Island to explore as much as you like - or stay home and hang out on the beach.
  • Beautiful view and beach! Corrinne was an exceptional host with a genuine interest in ensuring we had a good time.

    Laurie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The views at Corrine's place were absolutely spectacular - the pictures really don't so it justice! The place is excellent value for what you get, that is, the location, amenities (there are board games people), parking, smooth check-in. I would stay here again and recommend others to do so!

    Femi2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Corinne was a wonderful communicator! Very caring and thoughtful and responsive! House was in excellent condition and we loved the large windows (180 degree view or more) facing the water. Private (walk out) rocky beach in the backyard!!!! Lots of towels and soap and paper products. We celebrated my birthday there and loved every minute. We were mostly hiking (Corinne had great suggestions in her recommendation packet), and really enjoyed coming back to the house and listening and seeing the water from the house. Internet signal worked well. Modern Nest-operated central heating system worked really well. We absolutely loved that hosts left logs and tools needed to get the fireplace going - worked really well! This place is ideal for couples and large families (there is lots of space and couches are large. Would definitely recommend this place!

    Chonok2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Consider yourself lucky if you have the opportunity to stay at Corinne's place! We spent 3 nights here in January and are looking forward to another visit! The property includes a well appointed two bedroom home, your own private beach, a large grassy area and a large outdoor deck with BBQ. Watching the parade of ever changing visitors from the living room/ dining room windows kept us entertained (seals, otters, humming birds, quail, eagles, seagulls & doves). We enjoyed a few easy walks/ hikes, shopping for local artisan goods and good eats. Next visit we will bring our bikes - lots of MB trails close by and the Galloping Goose trail is an abandoned rail bed (easy grade) that can be ridden all the way to Victoria over trestle bridges away from traffic

  • Corinne went above and beyond to accommodate us! She is lovely and so is her home. Right on the water the location was so beautiful. We couldn’t have been any happier and we definitely want to stay there again. Fantastic Airbnb!!

Kitchen was well-stocked with all we needed to cook great meals, space felt cozy and like we could really just relax and feel at home. Corinne was a great host, helpful and easy to communicate with.

Hello! We are located in Westcoast Sooke, British Columbia. Gateway to surfing, beach exploring, hiking, biking, camping, relaxing to the sound of waves. Our place is close to the town of Sooke yet surrounded by farms, and close to beaches, located on a peaceful, forested 2 acres. We will be on hand if our guests need directions to one of Sooke's brewpubs, a choice hiking trail, how to find a secret beach or which local lake is prime for swimming.
We are follwing the CDCs guidelines in how to clean and disinfect our lovely space, every time, for every guest. Our space is completely separated and the majority of our guests need not see us, or anyone else, as we are in a rural area with plenty of room to walk, hike and chill out. Come to relax, recharge and explore in this stressful time. We are offering a self-contained guest suite in a green haven near Sooke's beaches. We clean the suite thoroughly after each guest, all surfaces are cleaned and then disinfected. All linen is washed with hot water, and hydrogen peroxide. There's a private, clean bedroom with queen-sized comfortable bed. A den outfitted with wrap around sectional sofa, games, magazines, books for the kids and adults, ready for an afternoon snooze. A cozy living room space to rewind after a busy day or watch your favorite movies in comfort. The sofa in the living room turns into a double size pull out bed. The dining table has ample room for 6, just inform us if you will be having guests for dining and we will provide the table leaf and extra chairs. The kitchen contains everything needed to make a scrumptious meal. Induction stovetop, oven, microwave, coffee maker, grinder and good beans! Dishwasher to clean up easily, front-loading clothes washer and dryer. A bright four-piece bathroom. There is a trail for morning, or afternoon, walks nearby. Horses, llamas, and farms are neighbouring our place, it's quiet, but for the sound of the occasional rooster, birds or squirrel.
PSA- many beaches are closed due to covid-19 but as many are still open. We are happy to share local secrets for our guests. Plus, we have walks and hikes to go on in our backyard, or just across the street, where you will not see another person for hours. Our neighbourhood is all about beaches! The first beach down Westcoast road is Gordons Beach, located a 5-minute drive from our home. The next beach is Muir Creek Beach a few minutes drive down Westcoast road with a 15 meter high siltstone cliff containing well-defined marine fossils in a variety of strata. We have China Beach, Sandcut Beach, Mystic Beach, Jordon River, Sombrio Beach, Botanical Beach and Port Renfrew, all within an hour drive from our place. Followed by Fairy Lake and Lizard Lake, both day-use or recreational camping sites, excellent for swimming and trout fishing. If you decide to visit Sooke, several craft breweries await your arrival. Award-winning Sheringham Distillery offers tours daily. Tugwell Creek Honey Farm & Meadery also offers tours and is a 5 minute drive from our place. Likewise, Saltwest Naturals offers salt making tours just down the road from us. Sheringham Point Lighthouse, Sooke museum, and many local hiking areas are a short distance away. We love going to The Stick for freshly roasted coffee in Sooke. We sometimes drive to Shirley Delicious, located in Shirley 10 mins from our place, for a treat, besides the extra good atmosphere, along with our coffee. A 20-minute drive along West Coast road you will find Stoked Wood Fired Pizzeria and Market. Two minutes from Stoked are two great places to enjoy the pizza- either Fish Boat Bay or French Beach. We love it here and so will you!
  • We really enjoyed our stay in this exceptionally clean and neat suite. Anna was a very accommodating host and was very quick to respond to requests or questions. The place was exactly as advertised and was a perfect home base for our few days of hiking and exploring near Sooke. The suite is well equipped and we were easily able to prepare meals and entertain ourselves in the evenings. We were occasionally aware of the family moving around above us but it was never disruptive or unreasonably loud. We will definitely be back again.

    Nicole2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Anna is an excellent host and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at her place. She made a great effort in ensuring our wellbeing and comfort by bringing coffee and a large bowl of hot water in one of the mornings when the power was temporarily out (strong winds during the night before caused power outages throughout Sooke). Regardless of this unexpected event, we still enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone interested in coming to Sooke to check out the Juan De Fuca beaches!

    Gavin2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation was really clean and spacious. We enjoyed our stay and would like to recommend it!

    Clara2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Easy, clear communication with Anna and a great, roomy space with a well-equipped kitchen. I'll be back.....

    Michele2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Anna's place is a lovely retreat nestled in rainforest. She truly has a little piece of heaven. Her home was spotlessly clean and well equipped with all the comforts of home. Peaceful, quiet, secluded - all the things we were hoping for.

    Jim2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and quiet place, excellent for a small group or family as the space is self-contained and the kitchen well equipped for meal preps. No cell (as host states), but excellent wifi. Anna generously allowed me to top up my EV battery -very nice touch. A bit of coffee cream in the fridge would have been the cherry on top, but not a big deal. Will come back .. next year for Seedy Saturday.

Located off Otter Point Rd just 3 minutes from downtown Sooke. This little farm sanctuary is a truly peaceful, tranquil and friendly place to relax and reenergize. A fun and friendly dog, 2 cats, 3 goats, 18 sweet little Bantam chickens and a big beautiful black horse named Legacy all waiting to say hello! In the summer months Legacy is up the road happily grazing on green pasture. If someone really wants to meet him I can take you to where he is. Hope to see you soon!
Quiet country setting with animals ....
Quiet neighbourhood with 2 acre properties so lots of space and privacy. There are a couple of other people living here as well as myself. There is a private studio on the property which my son lives in and a farm hand living on the property as well. If you see additional cars parked and living spaces this is to explain any questions you have. The place has kind of a community feel if you will. We all respect each others privacy and live here quietly. There is plenty of space for everyone and everyone is very respectful as well as kind which is our motto. "Kindness Changes Everything"
  • Excellent host and a great place to stay if you’re looking for some peace and quiet. Great for kids too, our little guy loved making fiends with the neighbours (goats). Wendy real is a super host!

    New2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy’s has an ultra comfy bed, is immaculate and is a great quiet get away.

  • This little cabin is one of the most adorable places I've ever stayed. Wendy has some beuatiful creatures living on the property including goats, chickens, dogs, a horse and two friendly hospitable cats. The place was super quiet in a lovely woody area away from the road. Thanks so much for this super stay, your help and personal concern. And thanks for Thanksgiving!

    Leonie2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend Wendy's accommodation. Absolute nature, tranquility and central to day trips to the north or hiking in the East Sooke Regional Park. Wendy is a very friendly and attentive hostess. Always my pleasure!

  • The place is absolutely beautiful. I will highly recommend it. It's close to everything what Sooke has to offer but at the end of a long hiking day , it's the perfect place to rest & be at peace 💚 will gladly return for a stay

  • A really great place to stay for the value. The bed was SUPER comfy and the property was great. Made for an awesome base to explore from. There is a bit of noise to be expected as this suite is attached to the main home.

  • Wonderful experience at Marisa's place! Very clean and well equipped!

  • Charlie's Cozy Cabin was a perfect getaway spot for our anniversary. Marisa greeted me so warmly at check-in and was very helpful throughout the length of our stay. The property was extremely clean and the linens and beds felt fresh. Marisa didn't miss a beat with the amenities and thoughtful little touches. We had ample wood for the fireplace, cozy blankets for the couch, delicious coffee for our morning stroll. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you again Marisa!

  • Our stay at Charlie's cabin exceeded our expecations! The location is gorgeous and super central to everything in Sooke. The privacy of the location was wonderful. Marisa went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we could possibly need and was available at all times to answer any questions. The cabin was full of details that made our stay super comfortable. We loved the wood stove! Made it so cozy on the rainy days. We will definitely be back!

    Sue2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what a find! Charlie's cabin is the cutest, coziest cabin in the woods. It is clean, beautiful and stocked with everything and anything one might need as well as perfectly located near Sooke, with trails, beaches and the town's facilities at easy reach. But what makes this listing outstanding is Marisa's hospitality, she is the best host we've ever had, extremely accommodating, full of tips on activities in the area and you can tell she loves being a host! All in all a 5 stars experience! Thanks Marisa, we will be back!

  • Great little spot, super quiet area. Will definitely return one day!

    Darren2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great use of space and we liked the option of putting the Murphy bed away and using the fold out chairs to really enjoy the view. We would definitely recommend this place for 1 or 2 people especially in the summer to enjoy the private beach access.

Beautiful oceanfront, completely private one bedroom suite in our home with fully equipped kitchen. Brand new suite and furnishings. Surrounded by natural beauty with fishing at your door step plus East Sooke Park with it's great beaches and hikes just minutes away. There is so much to explore. Our dock and float allows you water access, a beautiful sitting area and boat moorage upon request.
Very tranquil, relaxing atmosphere in this brand new suite including quality furnishings and linens, with cleanliness our top priority. With a keyed entry you can arrive whenever it suits you. We live upstairs but your suite is completely separate, no access to the rest of our home. We have also done a lot of soundproofing so you will hear very little noise from above. Enjoy the amazing waterfront views from all windows and your private front yard. Watch the boats go by right out front or the sunsets at night. Private deck area with BBQ and table setting for outdoor lounging. Washer & dryer available so you can stay as long as you like.
There are few restaurants in the near vicinity, the closest being the historic 17 mile pub which is 15 minutes away. Be prepared to drive 1/2 hour to Sooke or Langford or bring food to prepare in a fully equipped kitchen. We can suggest fishing charters if you love fishing, kayaking is available close by, golfing in Metchosin or Bear Mountain, the Galloping Goose trail provides miles and miles of biking and of course East Sooke park is only minutes away with many amazing hiking trails and beaches. If swimming is your thing, Matheson Lake is only 20 minutes away, there is lots to do!

The house is exceptionally clean and comfortable and recently finished so everything is like new. Huge 21' x 12' master bedroom with king size bed and very comfortable, new latex mattress as well. Large, 70s rustic home on 1/2 acre property. Share bath, living room and kitchen with owners. We have two large, young dogs that just hit puberty. They will bark a bit and have become more territorial. They are crated at night and when we go out. Share kitchen, bathroom and living room with owners, who appreciate and welcome guests of all stripes, colours, backgrounds and parts of the world!
Colourful walls are decorated with original art by owner, her daughter and friends. I Central location close to town centre. Walk to town in ten minutes and to a great rec centre through the forest in another ten minutes. Golf course and skate park as well as mountain biking trails just down the street. Grounds are not yet fully landscaped as property was only recently purchased, but there is lots of parking and space for RVs and more. Close to great hiking and en-route to the Juan de Fuca Trail. Make sure you read the part about the dogs and don't complain afterwards!
Quiet neighbourhood in walking distance to downtown Sooke. Down the street is a skateboard park, golf course and forest. Walk through the forest to Seaparc Leisure Centre and the Sooke Regional Museum which hosts a night market on Thursdays from 5-8. The Sooke Pot Holes Provincial Park is very close by and must-see. Whiffin Spit is only a 10-minute drive away and a wonderful area for a walk.

We felt, especially because of the great hospitality, at home and would like to have stayed longer. Anke is really a super nice and friendly hostess who is always open and helpful. If we were to be in the area again, we would definitely book the place again.

  • We felt very welcomed and at ease in Anke's beautiful, brightly decorated house. She has a pair of gorgeous puppies that we enjoyed playing with. The bed was big and comfy. The room was very spacious. Sooke was cute. Anke offered us lots of advice about the area. It was a shame our stay was so brief.

PET FRIENDLY Quiet, fully serviced home in the Sooke harbour across from a beautiful beach and spit surrounded by the ocean, amazing kayaking, crabbing and paddle boarding. Well located for easy access to the maze of hiking trails in the area. Watch the salmon migrate upstream and spawn or cast straight from the beach and catch Chum, Coho or Chinook salmon. Very clean and comfortable with a cute BBQ and sitting area in back with fruit trees, grapes and small greenhouse. *Pets are welcome
The house is fully fenced in the back and the front. You have your own private back yard and sitting area. Also has a wood stove (not fire place) and wood shed is stocked. There is also a spot to store kayaks and paddle boards. The bathroom has a shower/bath tub.
The town of Sooke is a short 5 minute drive or 25 minute walk. Plenty of stores for all your needs. Many crafty little shops, galleries & craft breweries makes Sooke a cozy community.
  • We enjoyed our stay and hope to stay here again soon. Loved the wood fired stove. Lots to do in around the Sooke area. Matt was very friendly and great to talk to.

  • great place and great yard for the dog!

    Shelanne2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Matt's place is ideal for families, especially if you have kids and a dog. It was so nice having two (!) fenced yards to let our dog out late at night and early in the morning. The rest of the time we loved taking a walk on the beach just a few steps from the house and exploring the area a bit further. Matt's place was the ideal home base for a trip to Sooke and we look forward to coming back again soon.

    Melanie2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Big thanks to Matt for a great stay. A comfortable stay just a short walk from the beach - beautiful sunrises looking east over the Sooke Basin, plenty of wildlife on land and in sea, a gorgeous sunset on evening, and delicious apples from the tree in the backyard.

    Chris2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • I'd highly recommend Matt's place for anyone headed to Sooke. Spacious, clean and comfortable. It's well stocked with what you need and makes for a great spot to hang out on a rainy day. We didn't have kids with us, but looks like a good place to bring them. Matt was super easy to communicate with during booking. Would stay again for sure.

    Matt2019-09-16T00:00:00Z

  • I had a fantastic stay at Evelyn's place. Her suite feels luxurious, while still very homey and comfortable. It was spotless and had all of the conveniences you'd need, and more! Evelyn is a very friendly host, was easy to communicate with and made sure to check in with me to see if everything was to my liking. Evelyn's place is certainly a tranquil hideaway.

    Stacey2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Evelyn's suite is definitely one of the best Airbnbs I've ever stayed at. It's very spacious and incredibly clean. It had everything I needed to work comfortably on my laptop (e.g., a big table, lots of electrical outlets), and the kitchen is very well stocked with dishes and all of the tools and amenities I can imagine. When I couldn't figure out the TV channels, Evelyn came down to help me out as soon as she could. Location is a very quiet residential neighbourhood. I would love to stay here again and will definitely recommend it!

Nothing can beat waking up to the sound of lapping water, getting fully away sipping coffee overlooking that incredible view with the added bonus of the beach/spit walk a stone throws away. Diane was incredibly thoughtful throughout our stay and always reachable, and she made the place feel like home with some amazing touches to help get down to proper R&R. The place had more than enough space for two, with everything you need to get by with a coffee maker and an essentials kitchen. • A hidden gem in Sooke, Kim’s home was perfect place for me to escape the Alberta winter a focus on the piles of reading I had to do for my classes. When I arrived, the place was sparkling clean and she had little welcome snacks which were most appreciated after the drive from the mainland. Kim and her husband were always available to answer my questions and made me feel right at home on my “working vacation”. Thanks both for your hospitality! I highly recommend Kim’s Coastal Cottage!!

  • Perfect location and a lovely place! The host offers some groceries for breakfast, which I never expected. Everything was clean and felt like home as soon as I stepped in. It was already my third visit and will go again for sure. PS. Don't beware of the dog next door. Will bark at you every single time you pass by, but the fence is firm.

  • This place was perfect. So clean and comfortable and roomy. You will find all the info you need to discover local trails and experiences at your fingertips. Delicious muffins were provided too! There is a beautiful patio to sit on and enjoy the sun. We were a little early for flowers but I can imagine it would be stunning in summer. Excellent hosts. I am hoping to return one day.

    Lisa2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • The photos are 100% accurate - an inviting and esthetically beautiful space. Great host! Definite repeat, if I'm ever back on the Island. I even enjoyed a RAPTORS game on TV - but they lost! Well... something had to be less than perfect. :-)

  • Awesome cozy place to stay while being in Sooke. Direct access to the Galloping Goose (1 min) makes it a perfect place for your biking adventure. The apartment was fantastic - enough space, super clean, arranged with love, warm, and as a bonus I found some treats in the fridge upon my arrival. Wish I could have stayed longer!

    Bastian2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful, inside and out! Everything was so spotless clean, it felt like staying in the suite of a very fancy resort hotel with amazing garden views and rainforest all around you. (Actually, it is much better than fancy resort) The hosts added very lovely touches to the place that make you feel very comfortable. It is clear that they put lots of love and energy into making this place enjoyable to their guests.

  • Brenna's place is fabulous!! Spotlessly clean, nicely decorated and the location is excellent. The view up the hill a little over Sooke to the ocean is to die for. Good restos, micro breweries and everything you need is nearby. Will come back again if possible for another week's stay.

    Peter2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Bright, brand new and nicely decorated space. Beautiful views from the kitchen window and yard. Easy check-in and excellent communication. Good location if you have a car - quick drive into Sooke and to nearby beaches.

    Greg2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • First of all very nice place with a nice overlooking view, also the place was very clean. Very detailed instruction and tips provided for checking in and checking out as well as tips on where to go though I would have liked all of those printed out somewhere on the table as my phone wasn’t always with me but that didn’t take away from my experience. Overall great experience!

    James2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great suite. Very new. The location has great views and places to walk and hike from the door. We would stay here again.

    Don2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable modern space in the hills of Sooke. Had a nice stay in this stylish 2. bedroom space. Sits up on a hill in a residential area with some nice views over looking Sooke and the water. Brenna was responsive and gave helpful local tips which helped us to enjoy hiking and exploring in and around Sooke. The kitchen lacks more sophisticated cooking supplies, so you should only plan on simple meals If you are cooking to be cooking. Very clean and despite local construction, the house was quite soundproof and quiet. Very much enjoyed our stay!

Enjoy our bright and spacious suite and games room. A covered outdoor porch to enjoy a beautiful sunrise or sunset with a fresh cup of coffee overlooking the Juan De Fuca Straight. Play some pool or darts in the games room. Enjoy the night with the shared fire. Minutes from beach access. Minutes drive from the Sooke town core and walking distance from the bus stop. Please keep in mind that we are a family with young children. They are very mindful when we have guests downstairs
Guests can enjoy private entry with a lock box for key entry. Entry is located around the back of the house. Not ideal for people with mobility issues.
Paved and lit sidewalks in a the newly developed area of Erinan Estates. Some building and construction around the neighbourhood during the day but quiet and peaceful in the evenings. Beautiful views with forest walking trails close by.

  • This is an amazing AirBNB. A guest suite behind/below a house on a very new, smart housing development on the outskirts of Sooke. The suite is new, really spacious and very well-appointed with lots of generous touches. Couldn’t have been more comfortable. Spotlessly clean. And stunning views over the ocean and across to Olympic National Park. The housing development is so new that it’s not currently showing on Google Maps. But it does exist! And very clear directions from Krystal — whom, to my regret, I never met. Highly recommended.

    Adam2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • such a well thought out space. easy and great! nice touches and perfectly sparkling :)

  • Amazing place and beautiful view to wake up to in the morning. The reviews on this space said, “the photos dont do it justice” and you really have to see it to know what the previous guests mean! Krystal’s place is super clean with a modern feel. The house is located in a newly developed neighbourhood surrounded by other beautiful houses. Would highly recommend to future guests and would gladly come back if ever visiting the area again :)

    Cindy2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • My stay here was amazing! Krystal had everything prepared, and the suite was spotless. Extra touches such as chocolates, and a guide to Sooke were also greatly appreciated. I would definitely stay here again.

  • Victoria's Place was a lovely quiet spot to get away, I loved her decor, the beds were comfortable, the place was clean, she gave quick responses; which I appreciated. Victoria was very knowledgeable, had great hospitality and I 100% would recommend staying there. My toddler enjoyed looking at some of the decor she had on display too which was a bonus for us. Thank you Victoria!

  • You can expect everything that is described in the write up about Victoria and Kevin's place. It's just great!

  • This cosy space in Sooke is the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring the wet west coast! The kitchen is large and fully stocked with everything you would need to prepare a meal. The pantry even has complimentary herbal tea crafted by Victoria (the host) herself! The suite is centrally located in Sooke - a short distance to town; all you need to do is wander down the street to find hiking trails. This space would be perfect for anyone looking to relax and enjoy some solitude. Vic and Kev have a wicked sense of humour and are kind hearted humans who clearly make every effort to ensure your stay is top notch. This was my best AirBnB booking ever !

  • Rose's place is well situated for activities around Sooke, and the space is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Rose had some delightful added touches that made a quick work trip more enjoyable. Recommended!

    Brad2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about Rose’s place was great. However, if you wish to be close to amenities and like to walk to them you can’t do it from Rose’s as it is to far. Eg. The suburbs of sooke

    Helen2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Rose and her husband Frank are wonderfully nice, extremely hospitable, and unbelievably gracious. Their place isn’t horribly far from the rest of Sooke and offers the perfect spot for a quiet, restful stay. It’s perfect for keeping to yourself but I also recommend chatting with Rose and Frank because they are just very friendly people. Frank was even kind enough to let my boyfriend and I hose off our muddy bicycles in the driveway. A 12/10 experience really, we couldn’t recommend them enough!

A log cabin vacation home with charm & character, nestled in the hills of East Sooke Park close to the Pacific ocean. With views of the Sooke Basin, it's seclusion in one of the world's most naturally beautiful places. Our open-concept log cabin has been designed for the comfort and convenience of guests looking to recharge and explore spectacular nature. Dogs may be considered, please contact us for details.
As the photos show, the cabin is tall with beautiful log beams, and a ladder to the Eagle's Nest, the second bedroom. With lot's of places for climbers to take risks and get hurt, our cabin may not be suitable for small, adventurous children. Please make sure our place works for you. Access to the smaller loft is by a sturdy ladder. Not difficult to navigate, but not quite as easy as stairs. The bedrooms are both open lofts, so they do not provide total privacy if you are traveling with friends or two couples. The cabin shares 2.5 private acres with our home, but we will leave you to be completely self-sufficient. Of course, we will be available by text should you need anything! Please note that the driveway to our house passes the cabin so we may drive past from time to time. Also note that we do have a cat and dog on the property, that do go outside, but are very friendly! Please let us know if you would prefer not to make their acquaintance.
Deerhaven Cabin is located in East Sooke Park, across the basin from the town of Sooke. Aside from being in one of the most beautiful natural areas in the world, there are some modern conveniences nearby. There is a small grocer/convenience store 5 minutes away that stocks basic groceries (and some awesome ice cream) in the summer. The 17 Mile Pub is a 12 minute drive; they also sell beer and wine. There are local farmer's markets on the weekends. Matheson Lake is 15 mins away and is great for a quick cool off or a day of floating on the lake. We can supply floaties if you are interested. And last but not least, there are lots of trails in East Sooke Park for all levels of hikers, complete with beautiful forest and ocean views. Please note that we are approximately 20 minutes drive from major grocery stores and other amenities. We recommend picking up supplies before heading out to enjoy the remoteness of Deerhaven. We do keep the cabin stocked with basic cooking essentials such as spices, oil, butter and breakfast basics for your convenience.
  • The cabin is amazing! Tastefully decorated and well designed.. they were quick to respond to any questions and helpful if there were any problems. We booked the place for mid March and had a fire going in the cabin for when we arrived. The ocean view out of the loft is a great place to just sit and watch the water go by, with ample natural through out the cabin . We will be going back at some point, hopefully this summer.

    Thomas2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • My second stay at Melanie and John's gorgeous log cabin. The cabin is spacious, well-decorated and fully equipped to feel at home. The location is close to great trail heads and a short drive in to Sooke, but far enough away to feel really peaceful and off-grid (with great wifi though). Recommended.

    Mayna2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Simply a superb experience! The wood fireplace kept us toasty warm and the cabin is cozy and well laid out. Would stay again for sure!

    Jennifer2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We cannot say enough good things about this cabin. It has everything you could need. It’s private, in a beautiful area, gorgeous views, beautiful indoor space. It was perfect for our weekend getaway. Melanie and John went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Cute dog, too. We will absolutely go again.

    Courtney2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Melanie and John are amazing hosts and their cabin is filled with thoughtful touches and unique experiences. The cabin is modern and well laid out, is larger than you think, and stays warm via the wood furnace. Furthermore the property is designed to be as private as possible for guests’ stays, meaning we were just as comfortable getting out to explore the area or lounging about with a good book or board game. Furthermore there’s just something magical about arriving in Vancouver and taking a ferry across the channel to stay at Melanie and John’s place. From the awesome cabin itself and their hospitality to the town of Sooke and the natural beauty of the coastline and parks, we had an unforgettable and relaxing weekend. 10/10 would recommend.

    Christopher2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay with our family including 2 kids and a baby. When we arrived John greeted us and there was a fresh, warm banana bread waiting for us. Beds were warm and comfy. Fire at night warmed up the whole house. Beautiful home and stunning location close drive to East Sooke beaches and trails.

    Rebecca2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Melanie and John' place is a total Westcoast dream. The cabin is super stylish and full of unique craftsmanship. We stayed in October and the wood burning fireplace kept the place super warm and cozy. Melanie and John have incorporated plenty of thoughtful details like a record player with vintage albums, board games, a guitar and even basic pantry items like farm fresh eggs, butter, milk, oatmeal, etc. Melanie baked us a fresh loaf of chocolate banana bread for our arrival and it made us feel so welcome. Despite sharing a yard, the cabin is very private- we did not see our hosts unless requested. We definitely plan on staying again!

    Raphael2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at this place. A perfect space to be away from the city to relax , enjoy nature and disconnect from our busy life. John and Melanie are excellent bakers too! I will definitely recommend to stay here.

Plenty of room for free parking for our guests. Backyard is fenced between main house and cottage for privacy.
Darrin’s home is located in Sooke, British Columbia, Canada. This is a very quiet neighbourhood with friendly neighbours. We are surrounded by trees everywhere with plenty of wildlife. I like to sit out on our patio and watch all the different kinds of dragonflies and bird species flitting around. The lake is stocked with bass and trout. One of our fishing regulars accidentally caught a large turtle one time! Careful when you are fishing, as the otters may try to steal your catch! Deer often graze and lay in our yard and we have had bear cubs eating out of our apple trees to fatten up for the winter as their Mamas kept watch from the road. They tend to run off quickly if they spot you though.
  • Very nice place and good host

  • A great place to stay to explore the area and to get away. Very quiet and comfortable and with everything you need, including a full kitchen. A private deck and garden. The area around is just stunning. We loved the East Sooke Park Regional Trail and the Galloping Goose bike trail. Darrin was great, communication was quick, check in was easy and we felt very welcome. Definitely recommend.

  • Great place for an affordable price! It was clean, smelled fresh and very inviting! We felt comfortable and that our privacy was respected. Great location as it’s just a short walk to the lake, with some walking trails. Also close to town and all the fun activities sooke has to offer, with spots at the ocean to check out! Be sure to do a whale watching tour through Sooke Whale Watching, they are amazing!! Thanks again Darrin for an enjoyable place to recharge and connect with each other.

  • A new, rustic, and cozy little cottage that is very well equipped and very well stocked with all of the basics you might need (a selection of spices, plus utensils, pots, pans, a small propane BBQ, and a great little surprise for me ... a well seasoned cast iron skillet!). The cottage is in a wonderful location and it is just a short walk down to the lake if you want to stretch your legs. Darrin is an exceptionally friendly host who will quickly take care of any additional needs that you might have. Bring along a few groceries, a bottle or 2 of wine, and a good book. We would highly recommend Kemp Lake Cottage if you are looking for a comfy little cabin and a relaxing "get away" spot!
