  • We’ve just spent Xmas at The Chapel, and what a beautiful, cosy place to be! Very comfortable beds, unbelievably spacious bathrooms. 5 adults and a Labrador in living area - no problem - still plenty of space!!

  • What a stunning place in a fab location. Right next to a public footpath through fields and what a gorgeous walk down to the River Cover. We even got to see a sheepdog in action! Very impressive views and amenities. From the fluffy robes to the Nespresso machine (and milk frother) we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The food at the Blue Lion pub is exceptional! The portion sizes at the Cover Bridge Inn are huge!! Such a relaxing getaway! Would highly recommended this place to anyone.

  • Beautiful, stylish conversion with plenty of space and high quality furnishings and linen in lovely village. Very enjoyable stay.

    Sue2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • A very lovely place to stay. A great blend of old and new, stylish and spacious. Very comfortable mattresses, and quality linen, plates and cutlery. We were able to visit the Dales and the Moors from this home (the Moors being a longer day out) and also York, so a great base if you want to visit the wider area. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Alison2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • The first thing we told each other after we were warmly welcomed by Georgina was how much more impressive the place looked compared to the already amazing pictures on this site. - Spotless (as in Brand New) - Spacious (the biggest en-suite bedrooms you have ever seen with a walk-in shower and seperate bath we wished we had at home, a large sofa, a wall to wall kitchen, the most fantastic windows you'll ever see...) - ultramodern (a big flatscreen SmartTV, WIFI that runs faster than the speed of light, dimmable and variable lighting) the Old Chapel is located in a very quiet village (Can you call two streets with a big green running in between a village?), next to a public footpath that runs all the way down to the River Cover and the Coverbridge pub or all the way up to Middleham Castle). We did our grocery shopping in Leyburn (about 10 minutes by car) and during our stay of 7 nights we had lots of fun visiting Aysgarth Falls, Bolton Castle, Skipton and York. We can only recommend Georgina's Old Chapel and would love to come back to the Yorkshire Dales and this unique holiday home.

    Tony2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • The Old Chapel is ideal for special short breaks and longer holidays whether to relax, seek adventure or celebrate. Ideal for one or two couples with every amenity that you could expect. Luxury, style and architectural design showcase this exclusive accomodation. Perfect location in this quiet village for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. We will be back.

  • A beautiful retreat in a lovely location. Ideal for a relaxing break away from it all, but close enough to amenities (including two good pubs!), walks and places to visit. Georgina is a great host. We plan to come back!

  • A lovely little space, clean and comfortable, in an absolutely wonderful location, just off the main square and a minute's walk from the castle. It was so nice watching the horses trotting past in a near constant stream in the morning! Hosts' communication was excellent too - although we didn't get to meet them, they sent incredibly detailed directions, making it very easy to find the place. One small thing though - as other reviewers have pointed out, there is no Wi-Fi in the property, despite it being mentioned in the description, which I guess might be an issue for some guests; that detail really needs to be taken out.

A cosy bed and breakfast situated in the wing of an attractive, old stone house, In the village of East Witton, in Wensleydale, the start of the Dales. One open plan bedroom with sitting area and amenities to make coffee, tea, toast, chill your favourite wine. Ensuite bathroom. Home cooked breakfasts, dinners if required. Lovely village green which you can wonder around and then stroll to the award winning Blue Lion Pub, serving great local food.
Although you are attached to our house, you have your own front door, and a large bedroom, with a seating area, and eating area also. Quiet, beautiful walks at your finger tips and then either relax and have your meals cooked for you in the peace of your own room. Or take a stroll down to the bottom of the village where you will find The Blue Lion pub.
I walk down to the river most days, it is a beautiful walk, when you walk back you look up at the Fell, it takes my breath away most days, I never tire of looking up at such beauty. Our village is tranquil as our the people. I feel very lucky to live in such a beautiful place. The Blue Lion pub is a 2 minute walk from our front door. There are many other good pubs in and around the area.
  • The Grange had been double booked, and Georgina very generously allowed us to stay in the Old Chapel next door. It was beautiful, spacious, luxurious, and a footstep from lovely pubs and great walking / running routes. I would have loved to make a longer stay of it.

    Jenny2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice host. Huge room in a beautiful village. There are natural alarm to wake you up (the rooster =)) and nice breakfast too. The food in The blue Lion pub and restaurant nearby is just amazing!

    HoYin2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Georgina is a wonderful host and the accommodation is fabulous; the interior feels much larger and spacious than the pictures portray, the room enhanced by a high beamed ceiling. Breakfast was perfect and Georgina was flexible about timings, the room also has a coffee maker, toaster and a fridge which was really handy. There are great riverside walks directly from the property, and other popular attractions such as Aysgarth Falls are just a 15 - 20 minute drive away; we had our big bouncy Labrador dog with us, who also had a great time, especially swimming in the local river. Local eating places - excellent food at the Blue Lion Inn just a two minute walk away; although quite expensive, it serves quality food with a professional service. About a kilometre down the road (which can be accessed by a footpath) is the Cover Bridge Inn, an award winning CAMRA pub with fantastic ales; we didn't eat here but the menu looked okay and reasonable priced. Highly recommend this accommodation; Georgina is superb friendly host, she respects the guests privacy but is there if needed, and was also flexible about checking in/out times.

The cottage is well equipped for self catering accommodation and is furnished as a farm cottage, with a light and cosy feel inside. We have spent a lot of time ensuring that there is everything you could want and need in the cottage to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
On the ground floor there is a comfortable living/dining room, with a log burner and TV, a kitchen area fully equipped, and a bathroom and toilet. The double and single bedrooms are located on the first floor, with a traditionally windy cottage staircase.
The village of Newton-Le-Willows is a very friendly and quiet village. There is plenty of local eating places nearby and plenty of dales market towns to enjoy, such as Leyburn, Masham, Middleham, Bedale and Hawes, to name a few.
  • Amazingly comfy bed and great hosts and cottage! Could not have asked for more, also, great cakes!!

Please note there is £30 pet fee if you are bringing dogs. This is payable to the owner prior to key codes being sent. Hare Cottage is a pretty barn conversion, 5 Star AA/Visit England. Set in Finghall. Two ensuite luxurious rooms, private garden, drive and Hot Tub. The cottage has breath-taking views from every room, a cosy wood burner and a wood-fired hot tub looking out across the valley. Regular trains hoot through the fields. Village pub and lots of walks from the door.
Leading from the large French windows you can either dine on the patio dining set, enjoy the lawn or sit soft on the rattan sofa style furniture on the decking to enjoy the incredible view. A private drive leads you from the main gates to private parking for at least 2 cars. And of course, there is the hot tub to relax in whilst soaking up to the views.
Hare Cottage has an idyllic location in the Yorkshire Dales. Set in an elevated position looking out onto the lush green pastures of Wensleydale, there are amazing views to be had in every direction. And if you are a bit of a foodie, the local village gastro pub is just a stone’s throw Away. And just down the hill there is a tiny rural train station where you can hop aboard the Wensleydale steam trains. Heaven for kids and rather delightful for adults too – jump on and head up to Leyburn for lunch before taking the train back home again!
  • My sister, pup, and I have just got back to Essex this morning after a wonderful 3 night stay at Hare Cottage. After a 4.5 hour drive to Finghall, Hare Cottage was exactly what we needed (and more!) on arrival! Deciding on a UK break not only in February, but amongst the 3-storm outbreak, we weren’t destined for the weather. Magically, we were fortunate to see Hare Cottage in all weathers! Wind, rain, hail, sunshine (hoorah!) and incredibly THICK snow on departure this very morning. Wow. What a sight for sore eyes. Jo makes a wonderful host, with the finest of detail in Hare Cottage, endless lists of recommendations to do, see, eat and drink in the local area. The hot tub was a highlight, and we made great use of the log fire. We’ve come back to Essex well rested, with a tonne of wonderful memories. Poppy, the pup, had the best time too, and has made life long friends in our Breakfast Club members, Clemmie and Star, the ponies in the garden. Thank you Jo. We had a truly wonderful time. 100% recommend!!! Natalie, Sarah and Poppy xx

Eastfield Lodge is a charming Victorian House with 8 beautiful bedrooms all ensuite. The dining room and lounge with wood burning fire overlook Wensleydale and the hills. This, once family home, is ideal for gatherings of all generations, walking/cycling groups or just friends getting together. For walkers/cyclists, the Lodge has secure storage, drying room, outside sink/WC. The Lodge can be booked for 'self-catered' or 'hosted' options where breakfast is served and an evening meal on request.
The Den is a small basic flat within the Coach House of Eastfield Lodge a large 8 bedroom Victorian house which accommodates groups or other individuals. The Den is ideal for a couple, or a couple with young children wishing to have a self-catering base in the Dales. The double room is very small but cosy. The Den is accessed via an external staircase. We are happy for two children to stay on campbeds we will provide in the living room but it will be a tight squeeze. Just 300 m from the picturesque market square of Leyburn, the Den is ideally situated for exploring one of England’s prettiest rural landscapes. From our doorstep, you can venture into the Yorkshire Dales National Park with numerous walking and cycling opportunities, a host of charming villages and places of interest.

  • Katie’s place was fabulous! I’m the decor was spot on and it felt cosy yet stylish. The kitchen had everything we needed and the location was great - a 10 minute walk from a pub and a short drive to discover the Dales from. Katie was also super helpful with navigating the challenging road conditions with the recent storms.

  • Great place to stay, very cozy cottage with huge windows overlooking a good view and a log burning stove great for a cute romantic getaway. Katie was a great host who left loads of great tips on walks and local places to eat! Would stay again!!

  • Cosy and clean. Private we were left to our own devices. Perfect for a long weekend away.

  • Such a cute cottage in a beautiful location. It's super clean, warm, so quiet and the log burning stove is wonderful. Would recommend the Black Sheep Brewery tour and food in the bistro afterwards. We also went on a walk recommended by the host around Masham which took around 3 hours and was very scenic (and muddy!). Katie's was very responsive to my messages but also respected our privacy. Would recommend this Airbnb.

  • Lovely compact romantic cottage. The log fire makes it extra special. The bed is a small double (not a standard!) which makes things cosy as does the tiny settee.. all part of the charm! Great location too

This 3 star plus, one bed roomed former Chapel, is a secluded retreat in the center of the popular market town of Leyburn, with immediate access to the town and its facilities. New bathroom and kitchen recently fitted, redecorated and tastefully furnished.
Being a former chapel, this cottage is part of the history of Leyburn, and this comes through in the cottage. You'll find everything you need to make your stay a pleasant one.
Leyburn is a bustling market town, with a local market every Friday, with plenty of cafes, coffee shops, restaurants and pubs. Offering great location to explore the dales and beyond.
  • Excellent. Very cosy and comfortable.

  • Booked the place as a Christmas gift for parent in law. They had a great stay! Really easy to find and everything there that they needed.

    Emma2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • 2nd time visiting the cottage and had another wonderful stay. Has everything you could need for your stay. Great location in Leyburn. The great British weather stopped us being able to do as much as we wanted so we had lots of time to relax in the cottage. Would highly recommend.

  • I booked Andrews place as a surprise getaway for my parents and they loved it! Couldn’t say enough nice things about the place and the surrounding area, so much so they’re looking to move to somewhere around Leyburn! They said the cottage had everything they needed for self catering with plenty of pubs and restaurants near by. They enjoyed some beautiful walks and loved being in such a beautiful part of the country! Andrew messaged me with some places for them to visit and things to do which all came in very handy! The whole booking experience was seamless. Would definitely book through Andrew again!

  • Great place in the centre of Leyburn. Lovely size place for 2 people. Very clean and tidy with a very comfy bed and recliner sofas. It was nice that we could watch Netflix’s on the TV and there was an iPhone speaker in the bedroom. Quick access to Aysgarth, Hawes ad Richmond. Definitely recommend staying! 5 out of 5!

    Cara2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew's house is a super little place just off the main square in Leyburn. It has everything that you will need for a stay in the Dales. I would definitely recomend it and hope to be able to stay there again in the future.

OS maps and walking guide books are in the cottage . Please leave them there when your visit is over ! Horsehouse is on the Inn Way, a long distance walk and on the Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way. There are many places of interest within a short distance. The market towns of Leyburn , Hawes , Skipton and Richmond are charming. There are castles at Middleham and Richmond to explore and many Abbey ruins - Jervaulx , Rievieux, Bolton Abbey, to name but a few . Aysgarth Falls, Malham Cove, Ingelton Caves and Waterfalls are also easily accessible as are Kettlewell , Grassington and Skipton . The drive updale towards these destinations is exhilarating ! Further afield there is York, Ripon , Harrogate - all possible for a day trip. The Settle - Carlisle railway, the Wenseydale Railway, Harlow Carr gardens, Constable Burton Gardens, Studely Royal and the Yorkshire Dales Sculpture Park are options. The unique Forbidden Corner at Middleham , Arial Extreme, Lightwater Valley Theme Park offer a different experience . There are so many natural and attractions to explore and enjoy! There are information leaflets in the cottage. Alternatively there are so many great walks in unspoilt and open countryside to enjoy and to get away from it all . Martin and I will always make recommendations and provide information if you ask us !
  • Our stay was fab,a kind warm and very welcoming host. Thank you so much, for us it's the beginning of more outdoors family adventures to come! The first walking holiday for our children and a reminder of how great it feels to do things like this as a family.

  • Beautiful cottage in stunning rural location. If you need some tranquil time away from WIFI and phone signal with an open fire to warm your soul against the backdrop of rolling hills, stone barns and and farm animals, this is the place for you. Sue is an excellent host and the wine and home made chocolate cake were thoroughly enjoyed!

    Nick2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is so cosy and Sue has added lots of little touches about the place to make it feel like a home away from home. Located in the middle of Yorkshire with loads of walks from the doorsteps . Aysgarth Falls, Kettlewell, Arnclife definitely worth a visit is you like charming little villages.

    Jolanta2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Sue's cottage is spotlessly clean and comfortable. Generous supplies, a fire burning brightly, along with a great cake greeted us on arrival. Coverdale is a most beautiful Dale with walks straight from the front door. We were just two people with a third person staying for just one night. Space wise three adults can be very comfortable. The cottage has lots of information and maps and Sue called as we arrived to welcome us and answer any questions. A great host and such a warm welcome from the neighbours too.

    Dian2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time here! Beautiful area of the Dales and a brilliant house to stay in. Sue was so welcoming.

    Ross2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing 4 night break, great host and accommodation (a real gem of a place!) Hopefully be back soon!

    Jake2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Before we had arrived at the cottage I had spoken to Sue over the Airbnb messenger function quite a lot as we had to rearrange the dates of our trip. Sue is so warm and friendly that by the time we got to the cottage and met for the first time it was like meeting up with a friend and I think that's a really good account of what staying at Sue's is like - going away to a friend's house. She's an exceptional host and obviously cares a great deal about the cottage itself and wants to make sure that her guests have the best time they can. We also found Sue to be as 'present' as we wanted. She was more than happy to offer recommendations and chat and also let us have our space which was really nice. The chocolate cake left for us on arrival was delicious too and we looked forward to returning back to the cottage every evening and having a slice in front of the fire. The cottage is warm and comfortable and has all the essentials. There was washing up stuff, tin foil etc., milk in the fridge, salt, pepper and tea and coffee making materials. Fluffy towels and clean good bedding and a great range of cooking wear so we could cook proper dinners at night - kitchen small but well stocked. Wood/ kindling/ coal etc. for a great evening fire was also provided. There were also plenty of DVDs and other things to do should we have wanted to but we didn't turn the TV on. There isn't wifi or phone signal in Househouse however this was a massive plus for us as we could properly relax. I believe the local pub has wifi and a market town nearby (Leyburn) has phone signal and reception AND a great fish and chips! I definitely will be back to stay again as we had a lovely time and overall is a terrific location for exploring the Dales. Thank you Sue, you're a real treasure :) xx

    Kitty2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is amazing. The descriptions are spot on and the experience was better than 5/5. Great extra touches from Sue (book and you will see what...) and everything you could possibly need is available. One tip due to the lack of phone signal (there is none for a few miles and it’s bliss) is to plan your walks ahead of arrival if possible. Saving that the Thwaites pub and their WiFi or the amazing number of maps and books that Sue has left will help. Everyone is so friendly in the village from Sue to the neighbours and the locals in the pub - very quirky landlord!! Cosy, homely, idyllic, peaceful, sensational would be words I would use to describe the cottage. For the price you pay it truly is out of this World and I simply cannot speak highly enough of Sue or her cottage. Thank you so much for allowing us to have experienced your cottage. Will be looking to return when next in need of a small piece of heaven.

  • Probably the best cottage we’ve ever stayed in (and there have been a lot). Absolutely immaculate everywhere, from someone with high standards!! Perfect for a small family - the outdoor area is fully enclosed so was an ideal little space for our 3 year old. The cottage is cosy without being cramped, comfortable beds and sofas, lots of thoughtful touches (books, games, DVDs, visitor leaflets, recommendations, supplies for dishwasher, washing machine, etc) and full instructions for everything that just makes life a little easier! Location great with shop, several pubs and chippy on the doorstep with plenty to do in various directions a short drive away. We would definitely recommend Vale cottage and are already considering staying again.

  • This is a well appointed cosy cottage. Plenty of space and a lovely log burning stove. Set in a beautiful village the cottage has lovely views at the front and a good outside space at the back (although it was a bit cold for sitting out in December). A great base for walking in the gorgeous surrounding countryside. The cottage is really clean and has plenty crockery , glassware and cutlery as well as a dishwasher which is very handy. Hosts were very helpful and quick to respond to queries, sharing some useful local tips too. We would recommend this accommodation..

Located in the popular Dales village of Harmby, just one mile from Leyburn is 2, Rose Cottages. This charming country cottage is oozing with character, and would make the ideal base for a holiday in the Yorkshire Dales at any time of year. You are greeted by a welcoming rustic pine kitchen creating a homely friendly feel, retaining many interesting original features such as an alcove which was formerly a bread oven. The dining table and butler’s bench finish off the look and offer a true ‘country cottage’ feel. There is brand new double oven cooker with ceramic top and new fridge/freezer. The charm of this cottage does not end in the kitchen. The lounge boasts an original ‘Range’ cleverly incorporating a wood burning stove to keep you cosy on those cooler winter evenings after an invigorating walk on the fells, before retiring to the four poster bed in the master bedroom.
Check out Blue Lion, the Wensleydale Heather, and the Sandpiper for great food. The Pheasant one minute walk at the top of the hill is a friendly local pub (and often has a pub quiz!)
  • My partner and I had a wonderful stay in Harmby, Tim left detailed information regarding local walks and stays. The town of Leyburn is a 3 minute drive away and has some great spots to walk. All in all had a lovely stay and spent every night by the log burner in this cosy home!

    Anthony2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Tim's cottage is delightfully quaint and traditional. This is the second time we have stayed here and just love the welcoming relaxed feeling we get from the cottage. A superbly well equipped kitchen, lovely log burner and comfy sofa make it a perfect quirky little retreat. Leyburn is great for a bit of shopping, cafes and pubs. We also take the bus to Hawes for a change of scene and to visit the cheese factory. This visit we walked the 'Shawl' walk which was lovely and just far enough before a few beers in the locals.

    Sharon2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fabulous stay at Tim’s place during our Christmas get away. The cottage had everything we needed. Check in & out was very easy and Tim’s directions were extremely helpful and easy to follow. We popped into The Pheasant which is literally a minute walk, John & Kath were amazing and made us feel very welcome. The next village is only 15 minutes away and is a very easy walk and has some great pubs, in particular The Boston Arms. We will definitely be returning to the cottage.

  • A lovely, clean and cosy place, close to local attractions and amenities. Would recommend.

    Charlotte2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Tim had a great time felt like we could have moved in quite easily !!! Unbelievable views from upstairs windows even with added castle !! Lovely village, surroundings and people. Had a lovely sunny walk up the Shawl on Monday after the rain on Sunday, didn't want to leave..finally at 4pm. Thank you so much Tim we'll spread the word with family and friends.

    Sue2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Tim's cottage is fab, we found it was the right size for the 2 of us and it's in a great location. The folder that Tim put together was really helpful and included suggestions on local walks and pubs. The log burner was great and we cooked most of our meals and found the kitchen was well equipped.

Demonicus is a traditional Grade 2 listed Yorkshire Dales cottage, ideally situated overlooking the interesting Market Square of the pretty village of Middleham, famous for its racing stables and Richard 111's magnificent castle. The cottage has been beautifully renovated and restored to offer supreme comfort and all modern facilities whilst keeping its original character. It's the perfect base for walkers and cyclists, and for those just wanting to relax and explore this beautiful area.
Demonicus is my much loved Grade 2 listed cottage retreat. The whole cottage has been completely and tastefully redecorated. The kitchen is well equipped with oak table, 4 chairs, oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge, tea and coffee, tea towels, eco washing up liquid and dishwasher tabs. I have made a 'PromiseOnSustainability' so where possible all products are environmentally friendly. On the ground floor is the lounge with sash window overlooking the market square. It has 2 new 2 seater leather sofas, TV, a good range of videos and dvds, a radio, and electric fire. The kitchen/diner leads off this onto the south facing patio to the rear. From the lounge the staircase leads to the first floor king bedroom and family bathroom with bath and separate shower. On the second floor is the spacious twin bedroom with beautiful open beamed ceiling. Both bedrooms have lovely views over the market square and beyond. I am immensely proud of the newly decorated cottage and I hope you love it as much as my family do. Guest access To the rear of the cottage, the stable door in the south facing kitchen opens onto a secluded and peaceful shared courtyard(with the cottages on either side) that has a table and 2 chairs, ideal for sitting and relaxing. There is a shared undercover storage shed and private lockable shed in the courtyard where you can lock your bicycles. Other things to note The cottage is on three floors. Stairs with staggered landings lead off from the living room to the bathroom and main bedroom, then a flight of slightly narrower and steeper stairs lead up from that floor to the second twin bedroom with 2 velux skylights complete with blinds.
The quaint Wensleydale town of Middleham is renowned for its history and race horses many of them making their way past Demonicus to the gallops every morning. The Norman castle dominates the town, dating from 1190, it has a castle keep second in size only to the Tower of London. The pretty market square, on which Demonicus stands, is partially cobbled and offers a small range of shops, pubs and places to eat. The bustling market town of Leyburn is just a short drive away offering a variety of great shops and pubs, or why not take some time to explore The Forbidden Corner, a unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers and surprises set amidst 4 acres of grounds, providing a fun day out for all the family. All in all a superb base for exploring Wensleydale and all within easy driving distance of York, the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales and Heritage Coast.
  • We found the cottage to be very thoughtfully and stylishly set-out. The house was completely clean on arrival and all instructions were very clear.

  • Thanks for a lovely stay, we found the Mews was spacious, comfortable, homely and extremely well equipped. We especially enjoyed the cake the hosts left for us, the table tennis and my little niece enjoyed running about outside and finding pine cones.

  • The Mews was so peaceful and quiet, perfect for a little getaway and only an hour from York. Jan was great and left us a lovely cake. The house is well equipped, big, with a great kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. The garden is gorgeous as well.

    Chloe2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is in an idyllic location with walks right from the doorstep, but within walking distance to Masham with its pubs and amenities. (Call into the community office and pick up maps for several walks in the area). The apartment is spacious and immaculately clean and the hosts go that extra mile to make you feel welcome. They left us a home baked cake, Prosecco and milk in the fridge (as well as tea, coffee, sugar etc). But what really tops this place off, is the shepherds hut sauna in the grounds. It was just what we needed after a long day walking. We can’t thank Janet & Robert enough for their hospitality.

  • Denise`s apartment was brilliant for our short stay in Wensleydale. Only a five minute walk into the centre of Leyburn, which has some decent pubs, shops, and a couple of really good Restaurants. Our room had a comfortable 4 poster bed, with plenty of hanging storage for our clothes. A good shower, with shampoos and shower gels, and good quality towels. Breakfast was available in the house kitchen , with cereals , and Bacon and eggs provided for you to make your own breakfast. Denise and Alex were great hosts , easily contactable, and helpful about the local area. Thanks again, and hopefully we`ll be back in the future. Craig & Pam

Quietly nestling within a courtyard of just three cottages, Church View is a pretty cottage which has been thoughtfully refurbished to a high standard offering quality holiday accommodation for families and couples with a seating area to the front and a private parking spot. In a tranquil setting, Church View is close to the 12th century church, where the churchyard contains the Golden Cross of Sebastopol, brought back from the Crimean War by a member of a local family at Spennithorne Hall.
  • Emma-Louise's cottage is very comfortable, well-equipped and terrific value - great for longer stays with all the practical things you need. The village is lovely and well-located for exploring the northern Dales and Richmond. Our finds for eating and drinking included the friendly local freehouse, the Old Horn Inn (5 min walk); R. Campbell & Sons grocers in Leyburn; and the Two Dales Bakery in Reeth. Recommended!

Dale is a Kingsize Room with futon within our beautiful Victorian guest House, offering stunning views of Coverdale, Middleham Castle and beyond, where we offer a traditional Yorkshire breakfast, a comfy nights sleep and great hospitality.
Eastfield Lodge Bed & Breakfast sits just 300m from the picturesque market square of Leyburn, the principal town of Wensleydale. This is one of England’s prettiest rural landscapes and from our doorstep you can explore the Yorkshire Dales National Park with its numerous walking and cycling opportunities, as well as a host of charming villages and many local places of interest. We are open throughout the year with the Summer months offering some Bed and Breakfast dates while increasingly in the Spring, Autumn and Winter we welcome families, friends and groups who book the whole house for their exclusive use. With its big spacious rooms and communal areas, the house is ideal for larger get-togethers and your own house parties. Perhaps most important of all, every guest at Eastfield Lodge can expect a genuine and enthusiastic welcome from me, Henry Collett and/or my ‘better half’ Penny Knight – or indeed one of our colleagues. Our aim is for you to feel you are staying somewhere special, somewhere we would want to stay ourselves so we encourage you to kick off your shoes and make this your “home from home” while you are with us. Nothing is too much trouble – we really do want you to have the best time here that you could have. Explore, relax, unwind and let us provide good food, luxurious beds and genuine hospitality. Laughter throughout the house is often a theme. Our attention to detail has consistently gained us four stars from Visit England. We look forward to seeing you soon at Eastfield Lodge.
Wensleydale, one of the very few dales not to be named after the river which flows through it, is perhaps the most celebrated of all the Dales. It lies inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Famous for James Herriot and All Creatures Great and Small filmed in nearby Askrigg, Wallace and Grommit, who so loved the local cheese and most importantly for it’s dramatic and outstanding natural beauty, for which it was recognised as an AONB site in 1994. The imposing Castle Bolton, where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned and ruins of Middleham Castle , the childhood home of Richard III, are both within a 20 minutes drive. At Eastfield Lodge we are in an ideal location, just 5 minutes walk into the traditional market square of this thriving, pretty town with its independent shops, including Campbells, an award-winning supermarket and wine and spirit merchant family run since 1868. There is a weekly market, attractive tearooms, four pubs, bakeries, local butcher and a traditional sweet shop. Leyburn regularly draws in the local people, who use the town to go about their daily business. Tennents, the largest family owned auctioneers in the UK, have frequent sales and events less than a 10 minute walk from the lodge. Eastfield Lodge is the perfect springboard for exploring this diverse area, whether you venture out on foot, by car or step-back-in-time on the Wensleydale Railway, a tourist line which stops just less than 400m from here before heading west into the Dales National Park. We are also lucky enough to have the regular Little White Dales Bus services, recently featured on Countryfile. The renowned Leyburn ‘Shawl’, just a short walk from the Market Place, gives superb views over Wensleydale and is the starting point for many beautiful walks. Hardraw Force, the highest unbroken waterfall in England, is located near Hawes, whilst Aysgarth Falls are famous for their beauty, attracting visitors from afar, partly because they were featured in the film Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves. One of the most unusual river suspension bridges in England built in 1829, crosses the River Ure to link Leyburn to Middleham, another pretty town to the East. Walkers and cyclists love this county. The Tour de France and Tour de Yorkshire (taking on the infamous Buttertubs Pass) have truly put us on the map for those who love cycling but there is so much variety nearby that there is something here for everyone.

It wouldn’t have mattered as the area felt really safe. A short walk into town where there are all amenities, coop, pub takeaway etc. Great stay. Thank you.

This romantic semi-detached cottage for two with a log-fired hot tub is located on a farm in the heart of Wensleydale with stunning views across open countryside. Ideally situated for a relaxing rural getaway in peace and tranquility and for exploring all that the Yorkshire Dales and Moors have to offer. The pretty barn-conversion cottage is comfortable and well-equipped, warmed by the sunny South-facing aspect and underfloor heating. A warm Yorkshire welcome and a memorable holiday await you!
Once upon a time this charming cottage was used as a calf-house and it has been carefully and sensitively restored using all the original stone and window/door lintels where possible. Well-insulated, double-glazed and well-built it has all the modern conveniences you could want such as underfloor-heating from a ground-source heat pump whilst still retaining a rustic, rural charm. The cottage cannot be seen from the road through the village so it has a secluded, cosy, peaceful and idyllic feel to it. Surrounded by fields, trees and nature the only sounds are of the animals and birds. Wildlife abounds, including foxes, hedgehogs, stoats, deer, owls, buzzards and hawks. Free- range eggs from the farm are usually available to purchase, as well as other seasonal produce from the farm as available. A baby or toddler under two years of age can be accommodated; a travel cot and highchair are available if required. This is our little piece of Yorkshire paradise and we are delighted to be able to share it with you!
The nearby pub The Friars Head (3 miles away) offers fantastic food, attractive décor, open fires, excellent service and a great atmosphere.

There is no light pollution here so we even got to see the stars on a late December night. The cottage is very spacious, extremely clean and wonderfully decorated. We will definitely be returning here and if you are thinking of making a booking, don’t think a second longer and book it! You won’t regret it!

  • The place is exactly as pictured, an absolutely lovely large country home that was spotlessly clean. The bathroom is in the hallway right next to the bedroom solely for our use and was also sparkling clean. The hosts were great and served an amazing Full English breakfast in their nice dinning room. Perfect stay!

  • We had a superb couple of nights at Jan and Andy home. We were made so welcome by them that it felt as if we were staying with friends. They gave us great tips about where to eat in Masham and our personal favourite was The Bay Horse with good food and excellent service. Talking of food, both Jan and Andy cooked superb breakfasts. The weather may have been bit iffy, but it was more than made up by such a warm welcome. Definitely will stay here again when in Yorkshire.

  • Jan and Andy are excellent hosts. We were made most welcome. Our bedroom was lovely overlooking the green and the bed very comfortable. Jan makes the best scrambled eggs! Littlefold is nestled in a pretty, quiet, hamlet and we totally recommend a stay.

Thwaite is a Twin Room within our beautiful Victorian guest House, where we offer a traditional Yorkshire breakfast, a comfy nights sleep and great hospitality.

  • Henry and Penny are fabulous hosts. You get a very warm friendly welcome. We had a lovely breakfast all locally sourced. They talk knowledgeable about the area and make recommendations for eating out. They were so helpful nothing was too much trouble. Had such a great time we are going back in September with more friends.
