  • Great place! Deb and her husband are very nice, and made sure we had a good time. We wanted to go xcountty skiing at Acadia, but there was no snow. So, Deb offered us skates to go on the frozen lake

  • Deb's cottage was perfect. Slept very well as it's extremely peaceful. The view of the lake in the morning was wonderful as well. Would definitely return here, especially in the summer!

  • We loved relaxing on the dock or taking the paddle boat out on the lake. Very comfortable bed too. Had a great time, would go again!

    Isabel2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We could not have had a better experience. Terri's cabin was homey and comfortable. And all the amenities available are an added bonus - bikes, kayaks, the grill, fire pit with wood, etc. Thanks so much for opening up your family get away for us!

    Gary2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is exactly what we were hoping for, a little rustic and very cozy. The pond is absolutely beautiful and only feet from the cabin. Our favorite thing as a family without a doubt was the canoe and kayaks that Terri supplied for use, so much fun, and the fire pit was a huge hit. Highly recommend!

  • This cabin couldn't have been more perfect. It's a very home like environment. The scriptures all around the cabin made us feel so welcomed. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could think of down to the bread ties! With all the fresh air and comfy beds, we all slept like babies. Our family had an long itinerary of things we wanted to do together in the area, but when we jumped in the water we ditched all our plans. The water felt like bath water, and we never wanted to leave. It was glorious, and honestly, I don't feel like we missed a thing staying at the cabin. The bikes and boats were so gracious. Terri, thanks for being such a great host. Our family will never forget this. Made so many life long memories here. It was the best vacation we ever had!!

This is a tiny cabin, 10 ft by 12 ft with a loft. The loft will sleep two, and there is also a pullout for a third person on the ground floor. The cabin has solar lights. There is no bathroom in the cabin, but guests may use the bathroom in the main house, about a hundred yards away. We also have four very clean, well maintained out-houses. This cabin was built for my own personal use, and I can promise that it is very quiet and peaceful. Guests may also use our kitchen.

Available for weekly rental, original 1926 lakeside family log cabin with 3 bedrooms welcomes you to a quiet lake to rest, play and enjoy the water! Over 1.5 acres and 300+ feet of private property. Perfect for families, couples and artists. Relax away from wi-fi: no internet, no TV and there is cell phone reception just at the front of the cabin. Very comfortable linens and towels provided. 2 Kayaks, 1 canoe, and 1 paddleboard available for use. Green cleaning products, soaps and paper.
The cabin is only 15 feet from the edge of the lake and sits on a wonderfully wooded property with huge old-growth pines surrounding it. The cabin is rustic but with modern amenities to make it comfortable- screened windows, 2 bathrooms, a washer & dryer and a dishwasher! The kitchen has full-sized appliances, cooking pots & pans and a stock of common herbs.
Abrams Pond is a very quiet lake with quiet neighbors. There are a few motor boats, but most people use kayaks and canoes to paddle around the 1.5 mile long lake. The water is great for swimming and fishing is catch & release!
  • Stunning location, comfortable space, peace and activity. I had an amazing time, stayed here on my own to recharge my batteries. Everything I needed, the weather was great so I was able to spend time kayaking and swimming in the lake before retiring to the comfort of the cabin.

  • If you are looking for an authentic "cabin in the woods on a lake" experience, look no further! Our family of six (four adults, two kids) had the perfect Maine vacation here - a week away from it all (hurray for no WiFi!). We enjoyed every minute from kayaking and hiking to sitting on the dock watching sunsets and having dinners on the deck. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

    Maggy2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I go to Maine every October, and Katherine's cabin was the perfect spot for our annual getaway. The scenery was picturesque with the lake and the changing foliage, the cabin was cozy and inviting (especially with the wood stove), and the location was perfect (close enough to neighboring towns, Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park but still off the grid and "away from it all"). I can't recommend Katherine's cabin enough. She provided everything we needed and more (like the two kayaks and paddle board) and while we didn't need anything else, we felt comfortable knowing she was just a phone call away. Katherine, thanks so much for a great vacation!

    Johnny2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was utterly gorgeous! So cosy and peaceful. It was everything I wanted from a lake house in Maine - and more. We had the best sleeps there, did puzzles and sat by the fire reading. Pure bliss!

    Torre2018-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! The cabin is INCREDIBLE! It is spacious and comfortable, and is packed with lots of fun additions. Row Boat, kayaks, paddle board, small telescope, lots of board games, flashlights, fire wood , snacks..... it was perfect for us and our family to meet up. We spent a lot of time on the dock and by the lake, watchingthe sunset and the stars. it was quiet at night, except for the calming animal noises in the distance. it was perfect

    Sami2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was fantastic, just as I expected from great reviews. Perfect for a quiet lake getaway,

  • If you seek an authentic lake house experience, this place is for you. Rustic and quaint, it feels like a stay at your Grandparents house, the one that you couldn't wait to get to when you were a kid. It is comfortable and homey. The living room was bigger than expected. The log walls, pine floors, high peaked ceilings and huge stone fireplace make this place special. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking. There is a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. Drinking water is provided. The stall showers are small but the water is hot. It is nce that there is a full bath on both sides of the house, one being connected to a bedroom. The cabin is perfectly sited on the lake. The rising and setting sun doesn't glare in the windows. The large windows are hinged like doors to allow maximal breezes in, and the breeze was always coming off the lake into the cabin. Waking up in the morning and seeing the lake, then having morning coffee on the deck was a wonderful way to start the day. We enjoyed kayaking- 2 kayaks and a row boat and paddle board are provided. The cabin is about 50 minutes from Acadia, but some days we chose to stay at the lake instead. In the evening we would usually have a fire in the chiminea. It is very quiet at night, with the exception of bullfrogs and the loons. We occasionally saw a few people on the lake. We never noticed the next door neighbors. The lake is clear and warm for swimming. As stated, this is an old fashioned cabin experience, so don't think TV, wifi and movies. it is a place for enjoying the lake, reading,(check out the bookshelves) playing games,(they have lots of them too!) fishing and having campfires.

    Jean2018-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Following our stay last summer we decided to come back this year and had another wonderful week. The weather was outstanding which allowed for lots of water play and a trip to Acadia. The lake is among the most quiet I've seen with very minimal motored activity. Mostly paddlers and families of ducks. More loon activity this year!

Our Rustic Maine Cabin made of roughcut lumber has plenty of space and is in a beautiful location. The cabin has a bedroom, bathroom, living/dining space, kitchen and windowed in front porch. • A perfect outdoors vacation!

    Brent2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely, quiet place to unplug. The kitchen is great and the surrounding area is great for day trips. It is also wonderful to stay in the cabin and read/nap or explore the lake. No WiFi and very little cell service, so be prepared for a full unplug! Highly recommended if you want to escape and bask in some peace and quiet.

    Alyssa2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Kimberly’s place is perfect for people that want to explore Acadia National Park and surrounding towns. The cabin has everything that you need for a relaxing vacation next to the big outdoors.

    Lizbeth2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin trip was exceptional. The host was very accommodating and the morning and evening views over the lake were amazing. I would highly recommend

    Todd2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin strikes a good balance between the rustic feel of a classic Maine cabin and the modernization and amenities required to enjoy your time off the grid. The cabin is pretty well maintained: new windows, plenty of lights, relatively clean, new big bathroom sink with a granite counter, sunroom on the lakeside of the cabin for enjoying the views and the air away from the bugs. There were plenty of amenities available to us, kayaks for exploring the lake, a small dock for looking out on the lake or stargazing, picnic tables and a firepit (smore supplies included), a water cooler with jugs of spring water (the well water has a bit of a salty taste). In terms of location, you're about 20-25 minutes from Ellsworth, where you have a nice downtown with couple solid breweries in Fogtown and Airline and a few places to grab a bite, possibly on the way to or from Acadia. Like most of the lakes around this area, you're about 45 min from MDI and the park, along quiet two-lane roads and highways (at least until you get near the island). Overall, our time at the cabin was thoroughly enjoyable and we hope to be back again soon

    Samuel2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • So much offered to do while at the cabin. Kim and Rick thought of everything. Even things to take care of those always pesky bugs 😊. The kids had a blast and were never bored. We can’t wait for our next trip to Maine. Thanks Kim and Rick

We have an open, airy studio apartment with bath and kitchen located approximately 25 miles from Acadia National Park. Pets are welcome as we have a small fenced in area in the backyard. Bring home a lobster and cook it in the fully furnished kitchen.
Outside, you’ll have your own deck complete with teak wood table and chairs as well as BBQ grill. Also, there’s a small fenced in area at the bottom of the stairs to your deck that you can use for your pets if you wish to bring one. Inside, you’ll have access to the entire apartment complete with bathroom and kitchen.
The neighborhood is very quiet with many deer frequenting the area. We’re only a five minute walk from tidal falls where live music can be enjoyed select Monday nights throughout the summer.
  • This excellent value in the Acadia region is clean and comfortable with many amenities. We cooked a few simple meals in the fully equipped kitchen. Snacks and coffee were included. Highly recommend.

  • Exceeded my expectations. So many thoughtful touches throughout the space. Felt right at home! A really wonderful spot to stay and explore Acadia. I appreciate that the host made it SO easy to travel with my dog stress free. 100% will be returning, go check it out for yourself!

    Alexandra2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay--it's a relatively short drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor, and also the Ellsworth area. Checking in was easy, and the space is much bigger than I anticipated, with plenty of room to spread out. There's a full kitchen too, which came in handy. All for a really affordable price. Highly recommended!

  • I highly recommend a trip here! Great location and quiet, plus the fenced yard for the dogs was a treat! Also great touches in the apartment.

  • John is an outstanding host and I would 1000% come back. When I arrived, I was having trouble getting inside since I didn’t know how the lock worked. I messaged John and he literally came in a minute! His loft is extremely stylish and clean and as a person traveling with a pet, it was nice to have a fenced area where he could run around. There were very thoughtful touches such as leaving a drink out for our long drive up and having some breakfast and snack options. I came in February so I was having trouble with finding food place that were open. John gave great recommendations and answered questions I had. Amazing host, definitely a must stay in the area.

    Iris2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is beautiful. The host is very accommodating. We were able to bring our dogs without any issues. Highly recommend it!

If you are looking for a place to get away and relax, our house on Molasses Pond may be a good fit for you/your family. It is a hidden gem down a dirt road away from hustle and bustle. Peace and quiet is what you’ll find, along with a gorgeous view. It’s a great place for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, grilling, fishing, and laying in the hammock. We try to provide you with all the necessities you may need and are happy to answer any questions. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
This location is an hour from Bar Harbor and a little over a half hour to Ellsworth (which is the nearest town with grocery stores, T.J. Maxx, and restaurants). If you stay, you will need a car to get from place to place. There's a lot of driving in this neck of the woods to get anywhere, but sometimes being off the beaten path is the best place to vacation. Expect ice on the pond if you stay from mid-December to mid-March to mid-April. During this time of year, there is not much to do beside icefish, skate (if there's no snow), snowshoe, or cozy up in the house with a good book or some board games. TV and wifi are available. During the warmer months, the lake is good for swimming and fishing. We've caught beautiful brown trout and salmon from this pond. There's a grill for Barbecuing. Hiking is excellent in the area. (You still have to drive to get to any hiking trails). There are mountain recommendations in the binder in the house. I'd also be happy to give tips based on what you're interested in. There is taxidermy in the house. If this makes you uncomfortable, please let us know and we can take it away for your stay. Fall is an amazing time to see the leaves at peak here! The colors are absolutely stunning, making it leaf-peepers paradise if you hit it just right. If you are looking to hunt, there's miles of dirt roads and plenty of woods. For moose hunting, we're in zone 28. Sunsets are also usually beautiful here! Note: There is no bathtub, only a shower. There is one king size bed upstairs with no door to the upstairs, and a pull out futon in the living room downstairs. There are doors with locks on both bathrooms. The half bath is located upstairs and the full bath is located downstairs. Pet friendly.
The area is unique in that you are near the coast of Maine and have nearby mountains. If you like Seafood, the outdoors or the oceans, the coast of Maine is the right place to be.
  • If you are an outdoor enthusiast, or someone just looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, look no further!! The house was everything you could ask for and more, from the convenient layout, the stunning bedroom area with king size bed, thoughtful touches throughout, and huge windows to take in the views from every room, it far exceeded our expectations. And the location was exceptional as well. Beautiful sunsets, bald eagles all around, and better-than-anticipated fishing! With it being winter, we were able to set our traps out and then keep an eye on them from the comfort of the house while we played cribbage and other games we found within the home. We didn’t want to leave and are already discussing what dates we should look for next!

    Austin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Even in the winter, this house and its views are absolutely incredible! The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating, and the house was spotless! This is a great option if you're looking for an out-of-the-way, serene getaway.

  • This home was beautiful! The bed was super comfy, and the flow of the house was perfect! It’s so close to the water and the fire pit was lovely! We enjoyed a snow fall and all the windows made it magical! Awesome shower, and it’s always a plus to have laundry facilities! Fabulous host, we never had a problem with communication! There were thoughtful touches that made our stay warm and cozy! Super clean, and plenty of kitchen tools to cook just about anything! We did make a trip to Acadia which was beautiful! We hope to come back!

    Peaceful & Private Lakefront - 2.5 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, Sleeps 6 - Swim / Fish / Boat / Hike - WIFI
Built in 2010 - 40 minutes to Bangor or Acadia National Park, 20 to Ellsworth. This newer modern, clean, lakefront house on a quiet, wooded, 4 acre site (not crowded next to other houses), is on Abrams Pond. Great swimming, fishing and boating can be had here. All located on a private dirt-road which allows for safe walking or biking. Very child friendly. The perfect spot from which to explore Downeast Maine. The house is easily accessible by car, the last 1/2 mile down a car-friendly dirt road.
Lakefront. Rural. Away from it all. Quiet except for the wildlife symphony of loons, owls, frogs and cicadas.
  • We spent a sunny week in August staying at the Goldman camp. The property is very spacious and extremely well equipped. The setting beside Abrams pond is beautiful. In advance of our trip Mitch provided lots of tips about things to do in the area plus there are lots of guide brochures available at the property. The house keeper called in on our first day to make sure we had everything we needed. Hopefully we will be able to make another trip to Maine and would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend Mitch’s cabin as both a place to chill out and relax or to explore the surrounding area and Arcadia National Park.

    Graeme2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • If you need a quiet place to get away, the Loon house is where it’s at! Everything you need for some peace and relaxation.

    Kristen2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Mitch was a great host. He was communicative and conveyed lots of information about the area and things to do. The house was clean and comfortable, and the property was beautiful. We enjoyed spending a few days in Acadia National Park and enjoyed relaxing in the hammock or Adirondack chairs, swimming and kayaking in the lake, and making campfires every night--our kids became quite adept at making s'mores. It really was a gem of a week and of a place, and we would definitely look to return on our next visit to Maine!

  • Excellent location. Close enough to Ellsworth to be convenient and private enough to feel secluded. Space was very stylish, a fire was setup for us to enjoy, a personalized welcome and cookies awaited us on arrival. Camp was very clean and had amenities available to enjoy the pond, dog toys, kayaks, PFD and board games. WiFi was available and cell service. We love the area. LisBeth and Deb was gracious enough to take the time to meet us in person. Our two labs enjoyed the camp and lake very much. The screened in porch was an excellent place to just relax and listen to the loons. We hope to be able to come back next year a little earlier in the year so we can enjoy the lake when it is warmer. It was an excellent vacation!! We appreciate the ability to bring our dogs along and feel welcome while on vacation. We consider our Maine vacations the dogs vacation every year and finding a place to relax and let them play was so refreshing. Thank you again for the wonderful hospitality. I enjoyed the cabin so much we only ate out once, no one every wanted to leave.

  • My husband and I spent 5 nights at Lucky’s. The booking process was easy and Lisbeth was extremely responsive. She made sure we arrived safely and gave us suggestions about the area since we came from out of town (PA). The cabin itself and the surrounding pond is breathtaking. A sense of calm immediately follows you as you step out of your car and onto the property. We looked forward to hearing the loons and even saw a bald eagle. We were completely satisfied with our stay. Wished we stayed longer, that scene will never get old. Definitely worth the trip. Hope we get the chance to visit again.

  • My wife and I loved this cabin so much the first time around that we immediately booked a second stay just two weeks later. Lisbeth is super attentive to any questions and concerns, and made both of our stays incredibly relaxing and fulfilling. The peace and quiet of the property is something that cannot be found in any part of our home state of Rhode Island. It is a magical place.

  • Lucky's Loon Lodge is an excellent spot to unplug and relax. The pond was clean and clear for swimming and fishing; the jetty was perfect for stargazing; the fire pit was ideal for toasting marshmallows; and the fireplace was perfect for keeping us warm on cool nights. The cabin is within an hour's drive of Acadia National Park, which is a good spot for a day trip. There are also some good local hikes: Mariaville Falls (easy) and Tunk Mountain (moderately challenging but worth it for the views). We also enjoyed kayaking on the pond and were even lucky enough to spot the local bald eagle (once flying and once just perched in a nearby tree checking us out). Lisbeth has thought of everything - super cozy linens, some snacks, and every possible utensil, pot, or pan you might need. She was also ready to answer any questions. We really loved our time here and would eagerly return.

  • This cottage is a slice of heaven! Serenity is the best description. quaint, quiet, peaceful, perfect! From the second you walk in the cottage and notice all of the sweet personal touches by Lisbeth. From the batch of homemade cookies on the counter and basket of snacks, to the native flowers in vases around the cabin. She took care to put her heart into everything. The perfectly lined glasses in the cabinet to the perfectly folded towels in the bathroom and pre-set logs in the fireplace. We enjoyed many meals and lots of laughter on the screened porch that overlooks the pond. We enjoyed the lions calls as well as made weeklong friends with the 3 local pond ducks. In the evening make sure you are around for the unbelievable sunsets. And at night, please make sure you go out to the dock and see the clear sky just overloaded with stars and the brightest Milky Way band I’ve ever seen! Brighter then in Hawaii! I could go on and on with the positives as I have zero negatives! We will be back next summer....this cottage has my heart now. Thank you for that Lisbeth, and thank you for sharing your slice of heaven.

  • This cabin is perfection. The location is amazing, the cabin itself is beautiful, the bedding is incredibly cozy, and the fully appointed kitchen made it so that we barely had to leave. The dock and the fire pit are also fantastic. This is the perfect place to escape from the world. Highly recommended.

    Greg2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Maine at Lucky's Loon Lodge. The cabin was immaculate and fully stocked with everything we needed: coffee pot, dishes, glassware, iron, fan, hammock, kayaks, a few snacks :) , some toiletries and a list of recommendations for local dining, hiking, etc. The weather was perfect which enhanced our time on the pond sunning and reading. We brought along our pugs and they LOVED exploring and chilling out on the dock. The loons serenaded us each day and we even spotted one up close while kayaking. Day trips into Acadia/Bar Harbor were the icing on the cake for us. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

    Krista2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Lucky's! The cabin is located on a serene and peaceful lake and was perfect for swimming and kayaking. The kitchen was really well stocked for cooking (including a large grill) and there were fresh baked brownies and snacks when we arrived. We really appreciated the cleanliness, organization, and thoughtful touches! Lisbeth was easy to communicated with and greeted us when we arrived for a tour of the place. We saw/heard lots of loons and even an eagle. The drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia is perfect for a day trip to do hiking/summer touristy things. Thank you for a great stay!!

Quaint home base for a DownEast Maine Vacation. Newly renovated cabin located at the edge of private woods located off an easily-accessible rural paved road. Centrally located between the two units of Acadia National Park (Mount Desert Island and Schoodic Peninsula) and the beautiful, quiet lakes and mountains of the Donnell Pond Maine State Preserve.
Woods Edge is a 16 x 16 studio with a kitchen, couch and dining area, and 3/4 bathroom with shower. The kitchen has all the basic amenities you will need. There is a screen porch off the side of the cabin to enjoy the private woods without the bugs. The cabin is located about 100 feet behind my rural house, but it has the semblance of complete privacy because it sits on the edge of the woods with windows facing dense unoccupied woods and a field. No other houses are visible from the interior of the cabin. Distance to Acadia National Park: The closest areas to both units (Schoodic and Mount Desert Island) is about 30-35 minutes away from the cottage. The cottage is located centrally between the two units. Bar Harbor is 50-55 minutes away. Just about any part of Acadia National Park (including the highlights - Thunder Hole, Sand Beach, Cadillac Mountain, and Jordon Pond - excluding outlying islands) can be reached in about an hour or less. The closest unit of Donnell Pond Maine State Preserve is only 15 minutes away. Also located within a few miles is access to the DownEast Sunrise Trail, an 80 mile all access (foot, bike, ATV) trail that runs from Ellsworth to Machias.
Although Acadia National Park is a big attraction, the Donnell Pond State Preserve is a hidden recreational gem with boundaries within this town.
  • Great stay in a cozy cabin, local tips and guidebooks were extra helpful. Would pick Woods Edge again.

    Evan2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kayla’s place is a perfect place to stay in a quiet, cozy location away from the crowds of Bar Harbor but close enough to Acadia to get your hike on even if you sleep in!

    Summer2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • My fiance and I stayed here for 5 nights. It was perfect for us and we had such a great vacation! We were able to drive out to hike and easily access grocery stores and local restaurants when we didn't feel like cooking. Super cozy, clean, very comfortable and the hosts were very responsive. We would absolutely stay here again!

    Mary2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Kayla's cottage by the woods was perfect! The space was adorable, cozy, and clean. The environment wad quiet and away from the business of Bar Harbor but close enough to drive in when desired. Kayla was a gracious host with quick and helpful replies. Highly recommended!

    Sarah2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • A quaint rustic cottage nestled along the edge of the woods. A cute porch with a swing, tastefully decorated and designed. This place has all that you need for a fantastic stay!

    Linda2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful! The cabin is decorated so nicely, just like the pictures. We found everything we needed inside. Kayla and Jason wrote detailed guides to nearby attractions, which we referenced while planning our days (we specifically looked at their hiking recommendations in Acadia National Park). A advertised, all the benefits of living in the woods, but without the creepy crawlies! Plus, the place is relatively rural (we were visiting from a pretty large city), so we were able to see tons of stars! Leah and Imran

    Leah2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect cabin for 2 people. The decor is very neat and the layout has been well thought out to use all the space. We enjoyed the terrace which is very nice to eat. Kayla is full of attention for her guests. And Kayla's tour guide has plenty of interesting information on what to do or where to go. The best AirBnb we did !! thank you Kayla.

Come visit us at our peaceful home in Hancock, Maine. We are nestled between the perfect trifecta of Ellsworth, Schoodic Point and Bar Harbor/ Acadia National Park. You would be staying in a private room that is separate from the main house. It overlooks the private, 2 acre back yard that offers a spacious deck, fire pit and a Webber grill. The bed is a futon with a full 10 inch comfy mattress. The bathroom is for your use only but is in the main house. Come visit for a relaxing getaway!
The space is very bright and happy with lots of natural light. Cordless shades give plenty of privacy and darkness if desired. There is an electric fireplace that heats the space nicely if the nights get chilly and a fan to keep the space cool during the day. The TV has a ROKU for Netflix for all your streaming needs. There is a coffee maker to make it feel a little more like home. There is also a mid size fridge right outside the space with fresh water just for you. Step outside onto the deck with two zero gravity chairs and an electric Webber grill. We have a large fire pit outback with an apple tree and grapevines.
  • Anna and Zac's place was very clean and cozy. The futon mattress was really comfortable. Location was only 40mins from Bar Harbour, excellent value for money!

    Grace2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for what we were looking for while visiting Acadia.

    Michelle2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little back room in the woods. Anna is so friendly. Took us around 30-40 mins to drive into Bar Harbor each day.

    Teyla2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Anna and Zach was great. Check in was as easy as can be and the house is in a great location not too far from Acadia NP and Bar Harbour. The room is lovely and private. Would stay again.

    Elisabeth2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Anna's place is a convenient and charming option if you plan on visiting Acadia and want to avoid lodging in touristy Bar Harbor. The room is a cozy and private space with a heater to keep you warm on brisk nights (check out the stars!). We drove out to Acadia on three days and managed to hike about eight trails. We even managed to find another trail near the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse on a day of heavy rainfall. Great dining options in nearby Bar Harbor, Ellsworth, and even a lovely place in Hancock called Ironbound. Enjoy your stay!

    Kristin2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Zach were amazing hosts! They made us feel very comfortable in their home! They are so kind and welcoming!

    Kate2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a charming room at a family home. The hosts were very kind and sweet. Everything was spotlessly clean and Anna and Zach went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy. We used the kitchen to make supper twice and it was perfectly comfortable to share with them. We had our own bathroom in the house. It wasn't any problem to walk across the deck to get to the bathroom

    Maureen2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Anna's place is in a good location, quiet and surrounded with trees. It is an easy access to Schoodic Point, which is well worth the trip (part of Acadia NP on the oypther side of the bay and 40 minutes to get to theAcadia Park on Mount Desert Island. The room was comfortable, spacious, and although the bathroom was in the main house the door is at kitty corner to the door to your room. Anna was very accommodating. We had a great stay and would return

The area also offers canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and miles of ATV/snowmobile trails. Golfers, be sure to bring your clubs, as this property is just down the road from the 9-hole golf course in Clifton, the next town over. Find the perfect souvenir in the town of Amherst, home to numerous stores, like the Peruvian Link, a boutique shop that specializes in alpaca fashions imported from South America. If you’re searching for good brews and food, check out Airline Brewing Company, which serves excellent eats and of course, its own craft beers. Additionally, this home is just 30 minutes east of Bangor, a city with numerous restaurants, concerts, and a casino. The cottage is also only 30 minutes south of Ellsworth, known as ‘The Gateway to Down East Maine,’ where there are many shops, pubs and an abundance of summer activities. Furthermore, Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are east of Ellsworth, about an hour drive from the cottage.
  • This place was amazing! It was perfect for 2 and a dog! Stan was so nice and was great at communicating with us when our arrival time kept getting pushed back. The cabin was well equipped, secluded and clean! There were great suggestions for places to go nearby!

    Megan2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described and probably even better - absolutely beautiful property and whole drive here. We were on our Honeymoon and the 1.25 hour drive to Acadia and back every day was actually pretty fun. We really enjoyed ourselves and I liked being able to stay deeper into the Maine woods. The host was extremely friendly upon arrival and gave some great local tips (go to Mace’s and get a burger!). Highly recommend!

  • Great place for a couple! Owners are very nice and helpful. Very secluded but quick access to highways. Get lots of groceries before visiting, the larger towns are close to 25 miles away. Union river in the backyard is very private and relaxing.

  • My boyfriend and I absolutely loved our stay here! This cozy cottage is beautiful and has a lot of nice touches that makes it homey and welcoming. It was very clean and we appreciated Stan’s warm hospitality. Everything we needed was there and made for a relaxing stay. Also a bonus was that we got to bring our little dog. We took a nice little walk with him in the morning to a nearby river. Would and have recommended this cottage to friends and would come back (would love to be there for the summer). Thank you again for our stay!

The house is so clean and Rich and his girlfriend are as nice as could be, very welcoming to both myself and my dog. I would reccomend this place to anyone looking to go to Maine for a memorable adventure. Thank you Rich!

    Jessica2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful, well kept home not far from Acadia. Rich is thoughtful and has the perfect home to come back to after a long day exploring coastal Maine’s beauty!

    Kimberly2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Rich’s place is extremely beautiful and clean. The best part is the view of the water. Rich was also a great host, very friendly and welcoming and quick to respond to my messages! Thanks Rich!

  • Isolated location along the water. Really nice property. A fairly short drive to Bar Harbor / Acadia National Park, about 40 minutes. Rich was very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend if you enjoy a bit of quiet seclusion.

  • What a wonderful experience! So much thought was put into each detail, absolutely nothing was haphazardly done. We are so blown away by the experience! We are now inspired to build our own little slice of heaven on Earth. We have already recommended the listing to several friends, we surely will be back!

    Sarah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful unique place to stay! Definitely recommend and will be back!

    Amy2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great weekend getaway!!! Everything is either self explanatory or with a detailed instruction. We had an amazing time!!

    Adel2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This trip exceeded our expectations. The treehouse is easy to locate & close enough to town that you can get anything you need from grocery stores, pharmacies & shopping. We also ate at a lovely local Irish pub. You really feel like you are in the trees. The 2 screened in porches are amazing! Especially the one that hosts the dual fireplace! That was my favorite cozy spot. Even in winter we were toasty warm! The Treehouse had a fully equipped kitchen which included a stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and coffee pot. It also included pots and pans, silverware, cutting board, dishware and mixing bowls. The treehouse was exceptionally clean, with extra touches like a clean sponge, dish & hand soap as well as extra towels. The bed was comfortable-we only used the one downstairs. There were additional beds in loft as well as a 1/2 bath. The master bathroom was really unique with a jacuzzi tub, sauna & steam rain shower. Angie & Haze were wonderful hosts. They responded quickly to any questions as well as providing great directions. The hosts respected our privacy completely. It’s very clear that a tremendous amount of work & love went into the design. It was really neat to see the engineering & the trees growing up through various places in the house. We would highly recommend the treehouse and hope to be back in the fall for a visit.

  • Amazing place to relax and get cozy!

    Jordan2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot; literally in the trees. Great hosts who communicated quickly and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. Very special.

    Linda2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • I didn’t want to leave!! The treehouse far exceeded my expectations. It was so cozy and comfortable. It snowed while we were there and you could see it through all of the windows. It was magical. The extra touches with the awesome shower, jetted tub and sauna made us feel like we were in a private resort. It was wonderful.

    Stephanie2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Angie and Haze’s place is truly a magical find in an unexpected area. Warmth & coziness are at the top of the list, with class and fine taste in furnishings a close 2nd. Every attention to every detail makes this Airbnb one of our favorites! We’ll be back! (Lol, even though we live just miles always) Thank you!

This space goes by "the little house" (emphasis on little), although it is more of a lofted studio apartment. The warm wooden surfaces lend a feeling of rustic romance, while deep seated furnishings and fresh features create a summery lounge-like space. Below deck is an open-air garage looking directly on an expanse of sheep/cow-laden pastures, which is the Peggy Rockefeller Farm of the College of the Atlantic. Location is 10 min drive to Bar Harbor, and 5 min to Acadia National Park entrance.
The downstairs garage space is a perfect spot to drink coffee in the morning sun, enjoy the sun setting on the farm in the evening, play a couple games of ping pong. One can step right out onto a sizable lawn space which is a part of the 7-acre property. Plenty of room for frisbee, badminton, or just laying on the grass. Our garden is just a few paces away, another great place to chill and eat lunch at the picnic table. The apartment itself is complete with kitchen, washer/dryer, and a bathroom with claw-foot tub containing hand-held showering faucet.
Our neighborhood is really quite unique as far as Mount Desert Island goes: the rolling pastures offer serene, expansive views in the day, and a wide-open starry night sky. The ocean air rolls in from the cove at the end of Norway Drive, and one passes old farmhouses and the historic Stone Barn Farm- just at the bottom of the hill- on their way to town or the park. The property itself is large with space on all sides.
  • This place is amazing - you should rent it! Maya and Noah are perfect hosts and staying on their beautiful property is a real treat. No kidding, stop looking and just book this place!

    Chris2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Hey All, My stay with Maya and Noah was incredible. The space was awesome, well taken care of and was a perfect way to experience the area. It really is special. Best,

    Kevin2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! Noah & Maya were great with communication, and the house is so charming. Amazing Location to both downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We appreciated their tips for local restaurants. We would recommended this stay to everyone!

    Shawn2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • A fun, stylish place well situated to Acadia & Bar Harbour. Lots of privacy despite the proximity to droves of people. Noah & Maya were really great hosts & great communicators. I had an all around great stay.

    Samantha2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Noah and Maya’s place is a cozy gem in a beautiful and quiet location. It’s a great place to come home to after a day of hiking, or to veg out and read in front of the fire on a rainy day. The hosts were super friendly and had great recommendations for where to eat and drink. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back again.

    Marie2019-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Maya and Noah’s little barn! Very beautiful and stylish place and located just a few minutes drive to Acadia National Park. Our dog loved it too and spotted several deer and birds! The bed was super comfortable up in the loft nook and the sheets smelled like fresh laundry! The fireplace made it extra cozy on a day where it rained all day! I highly recommend this charming spot!

    Gina2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • The little house was perfect for the two of us and our two dogs. The location was ideal, the house was stylish and comfortable. It was a perfect getaway for us. We loved spending time on the property and we were a quick drive to the park or restaurants. One of our favorite Airbnb experiences! We'll definitely return and recommend to our family/friends.

    Maria2019-06-10T00:00:00Z

  • Such a relaxing rustic getaway! Would definitely stay again!

    Kate And Dan2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was as advertised and so much more! Sparkling clean, cozy, lots of candles and lanterns for our use, perfect location. We had a wonderful time staying off the grid on the quiet side of Acadia. The kids had a blast exploring the area on their own, walking around the tide pools, enjoying the fire at night and the multitude of stars. We loved it so much that we definitely plan to visit again! Thank you Barbara for a wonderful time!

    Ejona2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • As we arrived at nigh, we were greatly pleased to open the doors and see how truly private the area was with the morning sun. This was the first time my partner has been to Maine (he is from central Oregon) and I truly believe I was able to show him a slice of Maine heaven by booking your spot. It was a perfect little get away on our travels of downeast Maine. This is a rustic cabin with the ability to unplug and get back to the important moments in life. Peace and quiet, lobster boats in the morning, close to mom and pop stores. I highly recommend an intimate dinner at Ironbound and a cozy breakfast at Chester Pike's to make this "off the grid romantic oceanside cabin" trip complete!!

    Desi2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • The most beautiful location! I highly recommend this spot!

    Alyssia2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • A very sweet spot and special place overlooking the water. Rustic but well equipped.

    Hope2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The big green lawn and proximity to the ocean blew us away. The rocky beach is calm and private. We swam, enjoyed the fire pit (with supplied wood) and welcomed the lack of electricity. Be aware that the cabin does not include any cooking supplies. Dunbar’s grocery store nearby was a friendly place to grab staples, sandwiches and coffee and muffins in the morning. This location can’t be beat, highly recommended.

    Avery2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a place to unplug for a couple days, I'd say this is a good spot. Light the candles inside, or start up a fire in the fire pit and you have yourself a good night. It did get cold at night in September when we were there, but the bedding provided was plenty warm enough.

    Mac2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Very well-situated rustic, yet cozy, cabin with quick commute to Schoodic Peninsula - the lesser trafficked part of Acadia National Park! Peaceful and sweet - we made fresh seafood stew over the fire! A great getaway.

Our studio apartment with a kitchenette and queen size bed above our garage is only 10 miles from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Ellsworth is ten miles the opposite direction. There are several lobster pounds nearby, as well as shopping and a coffee shop open in the morning and afternoon only. Come relax for a few days or longer. We do have two dogs and two cats, but our dogs stay within a fence and do not have access to the apartment. We live on property and will respect your privacy.
Our apartment has a kitchenette with a microwave, hot plate, George Foreman grill, electric skillet, small refrigerator and sink. The bathroom has a shower stall, toilet, and sink.
A coffee shop and bakery is only two miles away. Many lobster pounds and other restaurants are close as well.
  • Lori and Rob have put together an AWESOME apartment that is both out in the woods and easily accessible to anything on Mt Desert Island. They were incredibly easy to communicate with and offered many helpful suggestions. It was a great launching point for our visit to Acadia National Park, which we enjoyed even in the off season.

    Kate2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place is amazing and very close to Acadia National Park. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

    Jessica2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lori is probably the most accommodating airbnb host we have encountered to date. After flying into maine and driving an hour to Trenton, it was a pleasant surprise to see a variety of snacks and beverages waiting for us. We also loved how serene and private the property was, and that lights were lit each night, further adding to our sense of security and making us feel super welcome. Thank you, Lori!

    Lindsey2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place to stay. Lori and Rob answer your questions immediately through the air bnb app. They're place was clean, cozy and was in a perfect location if you want to go to Bar Harbor or Acadia Park. It was nice coming "home" to a quiet place and not having to compete for a parking spot. I loved that I had a private entrance and my room was detached from their house. I didn't have to worry about bothering them while leaving or coming back. I would 100% recommend them and I myself will be back next year!

    Alexa2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you are going to Acadia National Park in Maine, this is definitely a wonderful place to rest your head. Lori and Rob are wonderful hosts who are quick to respond if you have any questions. Along with being clean inside with the needed amenities, they also had a handy guide book to some of their favorite local restaurants. We ended up trying the Union River Lobster Pot they suggested- it definitely did not disappoint. Again, great little loft in a gorgeous location.

    Destiny2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • This compact and well-designed studio a the perfect base for exploring Acadia National Park. It's nicer than the photos, and equipped with everything you need for a cosy and comfortable stay. Highly recommended.

    Myra2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great! Newly renovated, the apartment was small but very comfortable. The whole place was really clean and we loved the little deck. Great for star gazing and morning coffee. Rob and Lori were super friendly and always willing to help out. Definitely would stay again!

Charming primitive cabin in the woods, on 35 acres, bordering 5000 acres of Maine State Preserve Land. Enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, 4 wheeling, and Nature. There is a brook on the property. Ducktail Pond is approximately a 1 mile hike away.
Amenities include outhouse, picnic table, fire pit and gas grill with burner and cooking utensils. A coffee/tea pot, cast iron fry pan, and reflector oven. Cabin sleeps 4, 2 queen-size beds, but there is room for additional tents and even campers. There is no electricity or water on the property. We have gas lights and a wall mounted propane heater. I will provide firewood.
Although there is cell phone service, it is very quiet and peaceful. Aside from the hiking trails close by, the Union River is a great place to swim or float. The Amherst General store has ice, groceries, gas and a breakfast/lunch counter. The Airline Brewery is a great place to get a bite, a beer, and meet the locals.
  • Great place for the price!

    Shawna2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is located high in the mountains, trees around it and lots of nature. It is small but very cozy. We spent a good 2 adventurous nights and enjoyed the fire outside and admire the stars.

    Ayelen2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Holly was wonderful with me. She allowed my dogs which is always hard, but the real glowing review is in how generous and delivery Holly, the host, was for me. I had to cancel as minute and she waived her policy and took the time to make sure I got my money back. Clearly the camp is gorgeous and I hope to stay soon. Absolutely recommend this Airbnb site unseen as Holly is awesome so the place must be!!! Soon!

  • The cabin was very clean and on an amazing property. A nice set up for camping including a very nice fireplace and grill. Rustic as advertised but very charming. Outhouse also very clean.

    Colin2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This space was exactly what I was looking for to take some time out of the city. Holly was a wonderful host and I would go back in a heartbeat!

  • Total surprise! Perfectly sized cabin with a lot of fresh air and sunlight. Gas lights and gas grill worked perfectly, no hassle. LOTS of space. Bring some comfy chairs, firewood and snacks and you won't want to set foot off the property! Thank you so much!

  • What a great place! Can't wait to go back again soon. It's so peaceful there. I love the chest of helpful camping gear that Holly had provided too. This place is worth it for the outhouse alone. It is by far the most spacious and nicest outhouse I've ever seen.

  • Our stay at Donna's was the perfect getaway from the city. Our plans to Canada fell through, and we last minute stayed the full week in Maine in one of the coziest spaces on a frozen lake! The views were beautiful - and the space was filled with treats and even a bottle of champagne since we were spending the new year. Donna even brought us home made blue berry muffins. Our only complaint is that the hot tub wasn't up and running due to the cold, which we forgot about very quickly after arriving. 10/10 recommend!

    Jennifer2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location! Immaculate with very thoughtful and homey touches. Wonderful hospitality. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!!

    Kim2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Donna and Dave are the perfect hosts and their place is beautiful. Perfect for a relaxing getaway and close enough to Bar Harbor/Acadia if you want more of an adventure. Highly recommend sitting around the bonfire and getting to know them - they have some great stories! They are very on top of things and quick to get back to you, as well as very aware of giving their guests space if that is what they need. We hope to get back there soon!

    Brianna2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • All the reviews praising Donna and Dave are more than true!!! The views were breath taking and their hospitality was superior. The Loon’s Nest is far beyond 5 stars.

    Thamara2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Loons nest was a beautiful and incredible experience. We hope to stay again in the future! Thanks for everything, Donna!

    James2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Words will never do my stay here justice. My best friend and I arrived Friday evening and we were greeted by Donna. She showed us the hot tub, dock, etc. and all information we’d need to know. My friend and I then went out to a late dinner and came back to a fire already started with us! We invited Donna and Dave to sit with us and enjoy the night. As we began talking, I informed them about a bad car accident i had been in earlier that week. Donna then went inside her house and gave me a heating pad to sleep with to relieve the pain! It was such a pleasure getting to know them and learn about Maine and other places they have been. Furthermore, the binder in the Loon’s Nest provides sooooo much information about the area, Acadia, restaurants, etc. We also stopped at the LL Bean outlet and were able to buy some new jackets! The fall foliage was unbelievable. We cannot wait to come back in the summer to swim and kayak!!!

    Rachel2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Loon’s Nest was a perfect cottage situated right near the lake with beautiful nature views. We had a lovely bonfire the first night, and spent the second relaxing in the hot tub. Overall, was an amazing stay and would absolutely recommend!

    Briana2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Loons nest is beautifully sited on the edge of the lake in a gorgeous secluded spot. We loved the lake, made good use of the bikes, and were only sorry we didn’t have time to kayak. We used the nest as a base for lots of hiking in Acadia, which was stunning with amazing fall foliage and spectacular views. It was lovely to come back at the end of a day and relax in the hot tub or by the campfire Dave built for us looking over the lake. Donna & Dave were fantastic hosts and their suggestions for hikes and biking trails were great. Directions were clear and made it easy to find. We would definitely come back. A real pleasure to stay here!

Newly finished space in a split ranch home! Conveniently located on a quiet dead end street in the heart of Ellsworth, Maine, in walking distance from downtown. Acadia National Park only 15 miles away.
Private, cozy space on the first floor with a bedroom, bathroom, small kitchenette, and living room area. Equipped with mini fridge, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, toaster oven, hot plate, tv, washer and dryer, and futon. Pots and pans, dish ware, utensils, instant oatmeal and k-cups are also provided. All appliances are brand new but the space itself is old, providing a fun retro touch (the bedroom rocks a vintage shag carpet!) The only shared space is the garage which is just your entrance. I live on the second story with my relatively small, super friendly dog. I allow pets and have a small backyard with a leash cable in case you need it. Also in the backyard is a fire pit that you are more than welcome to use in the summer months.
I’m located 30 minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The Downeast Sunrise Trail is only a couple miles away and offers over 80 miles of biking/walking/ATV trails. Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital is less than 5 minutes away for those who may be traveling for work. If you feel like experiencing some city life, the charming city of Bangor is only 40 minutes away. Blue Hill, Surry, Winter Harbor, and Sullivan also offer great hiking trails, scenic views, and food spots. I am very familiar with all of these beautiful areas so feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
  • This clean and comfortable apartment has everything needed to enjoy a stay in proximity to Acadia National Park. Located in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to the lovely town of Ellsworth it’s the perfect place for exploring the area.

  • Loved the 70's vibe! Great location! I would almost prefer staying in Ellsworth over MDI/Bar Harbor because of its proximity to stores and affordable restaurants.

    Jennifer2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, well-decorated place with amenities like a coffee maker, water filter, microwave, refrigerator, silverware, shampoo, TV, and heating. Communication with the host and self check-in were both quick and easy.

  • Great service. Stephanie is great host. She answered all my questions quickly. It was very comfortable and highly recommend this place. There were towels and wash cloths in the bathroom as well as a washer and dryer. She left soap there as well in case you needed to use it. The shower had different soaps and shampoos to use as well. In the bedroom there were extra pillows and blankets and the bed was very comfortable. You have your own thermostat for the apartment. In the living room there was a keurig coffee maker with coffee and tea. There was also some food like oatmeal, cup a soup and other items for your use. The apartment was spotless. Highly recommend this place. Its also very close to the hospital.

  • Place was great, would recommend.

    Ben2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • This little place was a wonderful spot to stay! Very cozy and welcoming. You have the finished basement to yourself, and she made sure to leave coffee, dishes, and extra blankets. She allows guests to use her washer and dryer and even provides laundry detergent and dryer sheets as well as a garment bag. She provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash, razors and a first aid kit. There was a nice, new, beautifully cleaned Keurig as well as tea and coffee pods. She even left oatmeal for breakfast and a water purifier in the refrigerator. She left a nice hand written note with clear instructions with tips for making yourself at home. She even allows guests to use her Disney+ and Hulu accounts. Overall, I would say this is a wonderful place to stay, and I would love to stay here again if given the chance to visit the area again.

    Kirsten2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! I was very comfortable and Stephanie was a thoughtful and considerate host. She left information about Acadia Park on the coffee table, which was under an hour on each side (Mt Desert Island and Winter Harbor). The washer and dryer were a bonus! Being on a road trip for over a month now I appreciate places I can wash my clothes. :) Thank you Stephanie! I hope to be back.

NEW LISTING!! Come enjoy our lakefront cabin with carriage house above the garage. This is perfect for a large family to vacation together. The main cabin has a full kitchen and bathroom with a screened porch for enjoying the view without the bugs! Above the garage is an apartment with a bathroom on the first floor. Access to water with a dock and 2 kayaks for use. 25 minutes from Ellsworth and under 1 hour to Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park. Spend the day in the park and the night on the pond.
Our Rustic Maine Camp, the cabin being made of roughcut lumber, has plenty of space and is in a beautiful location. The cabin has a bedroom, bathroom, living/dining space, kitchen and enclosed front porch. The kitchen has a stove/oven, microwave and full size refrigerator for cooking your own meals. The living room has a futon couch and the porch has a sofa bed for extra sleeping space. We believe that dogs are part of the family and should come on vacation too (as long as they are well behaved and are cleaned up after). The Carriage House has a studio apartment above the garage and a full bath on the first floor.
Alder Brook Road is a non-paved road with a handful of houses (some year-round, some seasonal). Our property is on the water and is wooded on either side with a good distance between our place and the neighbors. Webb Pond is a 915 acre body of water with white perch, pickerel and smallmouth bass living within.
  • The cabin was as described. Private, but there are neighbors. No cell service so it was hard to plan trips to Bar Harbor/ nearby "touristy" places. However, I would definitely stay here again. The cabin was cozy and the views sitting outside were beautiful. We were able to sit on the dock and watch the sun rise and set every day. Quiet and peaceful.

  • This place is very scenic and beautiful. My family loved the time we spent at the cabin. Kimberly has made the process very easy for us. Thank you for being a great host. I would recommend this place to everyone.

    Shailaja2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cabin! We especially enjoyed having campfires and being so close to the lake!

    Jenna2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at their peaceful slice of Maine Pond escape. The breezes off the pond called for exploration and we could rejuvenate inside and outside the cabin. The proximity to Ellsworth and beyond to Acadia and Schoodic Penn. expanded our adventures to the ocean and we could return back to fresh water, campfires and relaxing comforts. Thank you for sharing your camp!

    Larry2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • To put it all in one simple word, AMAZING. Everything was as pictured ,but even more beautiful in person. Very private, secluded area makes you feel like you’re in your own world. The pond was amazingly clear and full of life..we had a great time kayaking and fishing out on the water. Nearest towns and shopping wasn’t as bad a distance as I anticipated, grocery shopping and visiting the local towns were simple easy drives. Kimberly provided a lot of household items such as utensils, plates, cups, shampoo, bug repellant, towels, and a lot more to make the stay feel more at home and less stressful. This location was awesomely great for being active, I was able to explore, fish and swim by day and relax and enjoy the sounds of nature and watch a beautiful fire in the pit. Kimberly also provided all the ingredients for s’mores, a very sweet touch, literally lol. My only complaints would be that phone service is definitely scarce in the general area and bugs..lots of mosquitos, which is typical of the area and was expected. I got a can of backyard bug spray and worked like a charm for the entire trip. This was a absolute great getaway from the city, especially if you love the deep outdoors and adventure.

    Rebecca2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great week at the camp. Everything we could have needed was provided and the location was perfect and felt very secluded. We brought our dog and infant daughter and it was perfect for both of them! Our dog had so much fun she hurt her tail from wagging it so much! The bugs were around (As expected in the woods of Maine in July) but nothing a campfire or some bug spray couldn’t handle. Also, they provided awesome bug zapper rackets that were fun for all of us to use! We couldn’t recommend this place more!

    Andrew2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • I came up to Kimberly's place over the fourth of July weekend with a few friends and we had an amazing time. The cabin is right on the lake and Kimberly was kind enough to provide a few kayaks that we enjoyed paddling around in. There is also a fire pit outside that we used frequently. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots and pans and other cooking utensils. I would definitely recommend Kimberly's place to anyone looking to relax by the water while avoiding beach crowds. The location close to Acadia is also a huge plus!

    Allie2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great 5 night stay at the cabin. It was exactly as described and very comfortable and clean. Our routine was to head to Acadia (about an hour drive away) early for some hiking and then leave the crowds behind and return to the peace and solitude of the cabin. And the cabin had everything we needed to enjoy the afternoon and evenings. There are kayaks and a canoe available for exploring Webb Pond. There are plenty of chairs outside to take one down to the dock and sit and read a book. The dock is also a great place to sit and dangle your feet in the water while the sun goes down. There is firewood and fire starters are available to enjoy some wine while sitting outside by the fire. The hosts even left supplies for smores. We didnt cook a lot, but the kitchen has all the basics to make breakfast and a simple meal. It is the Maine woods, so of course there are mosquitos. But we came prepared with repellent and the hosts left repellent in case guests forgot theirs. Once repellent was applied, we had no problem enjoying the outdoors. And for early morning coffee before applying bug spray, there is a lovely screened in porch with a view of the lake to sit and enjoy the scenery and solitude. For those wanting to explore Acadia, but not wanting to deal with the summer crowds and traffic of Acadia, the cabin is a great base.

Completely renovated in 2018. Several popular Maine lobster pounds within walking distance of this one-room schoolhouse turned contemporary Maine Cottage. The space has been totally remodeled in 2018. The kitchen and entry area feature high exposed ceilings and have a boathouse ambiance with the painted exposed walls. All new plumbing and electric. Air to air heat pump for heating and air conditioning. Equipped kitchen with granite countertops, microwave, full sized oven/range, refrigerator and dual sink. No dishwasher. *The living and kitchen areas of the cottage are not insulated. Space heaters are provided for extra comfort during early spring and late fall when temperatures drop. Trenton ME is the gateway city to Mount Desert Island. There are several small hotels and campground but most importantly the best selection of lobster restaurants in the area. Central location. Twenty minutes to Bar Harbor, fifteen minutes to Ellsworth (primary shopping destination for local area with Walmart, LLBean outlet etc)
  • We loved staying at David's super cute cabin. It was no trouble at all to be a bit outside of Acadia/Bar Harbor area. (Only 20 mins down the road to Bar Harbor.) We especially appreciated the multiple space heaters, generous amount of towels, washer/dryer for dirty hiking clothes, and well-stocked kitchen. We cooked dinner twice while there—he's got all the pans, pots, utensils you need. If coming with pets or kids, be extra cautious outside the house—the road it's on has a lot of speeding cars and gave me some Pet Semetary vibes.

    Tiffany2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We came for a girls trip, and to explore Acadia National Park. The cottage was the perfect location for going to both Bar Harbor side, as well as Schoodic Point. It had all the perfect touches, and was very clean! It did get a little cold at night, but the space heaters were a great touch. We both agreed we would stay again!

    Molly2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • David's place was awesome!! Wonderful value and outstanding location on the main drag to Bar Harbor! The house was so clean and had quality kitchenware and local beer for us in the refrigerator when we arrived. The house was the perfect size for my husband, dog, and myself. Highly recommend staying here. We would stay again :)

  • September 27 - October 7, 2019 We were the first guests from Germany and so lucky that we found this unique place. Dave is the most wonderful Airbnb host, we ever stayed with. The Float Cottage is a precious place to stay. We always felt so comfortable when we returned from exploring the area. Just like coming home. Great interior design and so many little and thoughtful things that Dave provided. Welcome drinks were great and we enjoyed every single sip. An abundance of towels and high quality soaps and cleaning supplies. Super clean. Sufficient kitchen supplies. Dave has very good taste, as pots, pans, plates, cups, glasses, silverware, knives and kitchen towels look fantastic and match perfectly. The Float Cottage is perfectly situated and the gateway to the amazing Acadia National Park. Hiking trails can be reached quickly and exploring Mt. Desert Island is so much fun. We had - for god's sake - plenty of time for hiking, breathing the ocean air, absorbing the clear blue sky and bright shining sun, tree-bathing, enjoying the breathtaking views, shopping in Bar Harbor and visiting our favorite café - The Independent Café. The owner bakes amazing muffins, scones, cookies and pies. Homemade with love - like our mothers do! A cream cheese bagel for breakfast is always a good choice! Our favorite hikes were: Ocean Path starting from Sand Beach Gorham Mountain Trail Seawall Amphitheater Carriage Road starting from Jordan Pond Great Head Trail Jordan Pond Bubble Rock Hiking Trail One day we took a road trip to Lubec on one of the Scenic Byways (Franklin - Cherryfield - Columbia Falls - Jonesport - Machias - Cutler - Lubec). Leaf peeping is a must at this time of the year. The little red and white striped lighthouse at West Quoddy Head is so sweet. It stands on the most eastern point of the United States. Felt a little closer to Europe and our home. Lobster at the Down East Lobster Pound was a good and convenient start, but the lobster roll at Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound is unbeatable. You wouldn't want to miss the experience.  Thanks Dave for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage for our postponed honeymoon after over 23 years of a happy marriage. The couple from Germany Bettina and Christian Molch

    Bettina2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect space nestled between Ellsworth and Mount Desert Island. Our 15.5 year old pup loved the cottage and we enjoyed how it was close to lobster pounds and 15 minutes outside of Acadia. If you're coming to enjoy the calm of Acadia, choose this space!

    Steven2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage has everything that you need. Close to lobster pounds and a grocery store. We loved exploring Acadia and then coming back to the cottage to relax. Thanks David!

    Derek And Amy2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • David's place was beautiful inside and had a fantastic location next to just about anything you could need from Walmart to Acadia National Park to lots of great local food! David added personal touches that welcome you to feel at home. I would stay again and definitely recommend it to others visiting Acadia

    Alexander2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • David's small house is quite nice. It was clean, stylishly decorated, and equipped with many extras. The rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished. The location is convenient to a small grocery store (less than 1 mile) and a really good bakery (less than half a mile). Right next door is a lobster restaurant. Can't walk to much but the free "Island Explorer" bus stops right nearby to go to/from Bar Harbor and Acadia. The street the house is on is quite busy, making both pulling out of the (unpaved) drive and traffic noise minor issues. Bedroom is away from the street and the noise did not keep us up. We were more aware of it in the rest of the house. Heat pump was struggling to keep up with the cool weather that we had. I'd recommend David's place if you plan to visit Acadia or the rest of Mt. Desert - the island is just across a nearby bridge from the house, but it is not in the center of touristy stuff. The living area is very well kept.

  • We had such a great stay at Whitetail. The space was clean and welcoming, and the views just really lovely. We woke to beautiful sunrises each morning, hiked and explored Acadia during the day and relaxed by the fire each night of our stay. It was a perfect location for us — felt quiet and secluded but had easy access to everything we needed. Briana was friendly, prompt and provided great local suggestions for the area. Definitely recommend!

  • Bri and G’s beautiful cottage in the woods overlooking a lake was pure magic. You feel that you can be completely alone but are also within 5 minute access to everywhere you would want. Hosts were amazing and helpful and the thoughtful touches to the place were such a joy. Absolutely perfect place to unwind and spend quality time with your partner, self, and nature.

    Courtney2020-02-25T00:00:00Z

  • Brianna was super attentive. Always got back to me right away. Made sure to give super detailed directions to the place. Once I arrived I was pleasantly surprised with the modern touches to the space. Such a cozy little place, nice and quiet. Perfect for a weekend getaway to the woods.

    Norma2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning cabin and very easy access to Acadia. We came in the winter, and the property was phenomenal. Briana provided us with plenty of firewood to start up the wood stove and enjoy coffee in the morning! I would recommend the place for anyone looking for a serene getaway.

    Grace2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Whitetail Cottage was the perfect place to come home to after a long, wintery day of exploring Acadia. The space was clean and stylish and stocked with all the necessary amenities to make a homemade meal. The property is secluded but bright and cheery- lots of natural light! I hope to return to this spot when there is more foliage on the trees (green or autumn!) because the forest around the cottage looked so beautiful. We also enjoyed the views of the Jordan River and spotted a couple of bald eagles! I would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone.

  • What a beautiful cottage! Our family of 3 plus pup had a great time staying here. There was plenty of room for everyone. The place was very clean and cozy. Also very quiet! It’s far enough off the beaten path where you feel free of the city life but close enough to stores if you need something in a pinch. We would definitely stay here again. The whoopie pies and jam were absolutely delicious! :3

  • This was our first AirBnB experience and everyone should be so lucky. Kurt and Jackiee really go all out with the hospitality and the cottage is gorgeous both inside and out. Our family of four with two young children had such a nice stay and it was hard to say goodbye. If we’re ever this far north again, you better believe we’ll be back! Thanks so much for everything!

  • Nice little spot on the lake, cottage was cozy and clean, and dog friendly was a huge plus. 10 minutes from restaurants, bars, and shopping in Ellsworth and 45 minutes from Acadia/ Bar Harbor. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming, made us feel right at home. My girlfriend and I (and our pup) had a great week here and will definitely book again.

    Rob2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage on the lake is relaxing on it's own. Bonus is the location to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The bed is very comfy after a long day hiking. This place is cute as a button! The second bonus was the whoopie pies that were out for us. My first ever and they did not disappoint! Other notables... Great communication... Easy instructions and did I mention the views?

    Esther2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place with very kind hosts. Epic location to easily get to the NP without staying in the tourist mix!

    Kyle2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I loved everything about Kurt and Jackie’s place! Their place is quaint and adorably decorated. Perfectly located just far enough away from tourists but only a short drive to the national park. Their cottage is very clean and well kept! I knew they were available if we needed anything but they also let us have our space! We also arrived to a few little local treats and surprises they left for our stay! This cottage is a great find! If you are contemplating booking this, do not hesitate!!! We would love to stay here again in the future!

  • Very good host, very responsive, good, clean, interesting accommodations.

    Dean2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a treat this place is! The decor is fun as it’s the remnants of her daughter’s middle school/high school years. From fun magazine clippings on the wall, to a lava lamp, to a boom box with CDs... we had so much fun. There is a coffee pot, fridge, and microwave as well. Accompanied by some breakfast snacks and a fresh bag of coffee from Trader Joe’s. All of that and the location of this Airbnb make for a wonderful time. We met the host briefly, but she seems wonderful.

    Amanda2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable and welcoming bedroom and bathroom. Easy to stay, clean and tidy. There are a lot of snacks and cold drinks, and you can enjoy it as much as you can.

    2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Love the room, felt like high school again.

    Valentin2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet quirky little spot but very nice. The reason I say quirky is that the room is her daughters. She has move away and all of her growing up things decorate the space it is fun . Was reasonably close to Ellsworth and back to Acadia.

    Tim2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Morgan’s room was perfect as a base while I explored nearby Acadia National Park. Linda was a friendly, attentive and thoughtful host. Thank you!

    Brenton2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • They provided everything you'd expect at a hotel, coffeemaker, minifridge, microwave, towels, toiletries, even breakfast snacks. The area is very rural so we had no reception but WiFi was good and secure. We arrived in the area after dark so had a tiny bit of trouble locating the place, but had no troubles on the way out the next morning. We didn't get to meet our hosts, but all the information and amenities provided were outstanding. We would definitely recommend staying here.
