  • Theresa and Dan were great hosts! Lovely space, incredible views and ideally located. Thx for everything!

    Emily2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Dear Theresa and Dan, When we were originally planning our get away, it's was going to be in Leavenworth. But with it being booked up, for Christmas and New Year's, and the longer drive. We decided to check on other options. Rita was saying she hadn't been to Mt. Rainier in 30+ year's. That's when I found your wonderful B&B. Your home and the B&B room was amazing and so relaxing. And that was our main reason for our trip, to relax and reconnect. Especially with the busyness of our schedules. Everything was perfect, from the veiws, the location, the wonderful amenities, and the cozy decor to include the beautiful artwork painted by Dan himself, It made our trip, like I said "Perfect". Happy New year, to you both. Sincerely Joe and Rita.

Beautiful lake front cabin. Only 35 miles to Mt. Rainier National Park. Enjoy a day of hiking or snowshoeing then soak in the serenity of water front living. Our cabin shares the property with our lakefront cottage. Perfect for pairing families who want to enjoy lake time together.
Cozy, home away from home, you will love the fully stocked kitchen and the view from the deck. We want to be up front with all our guests so please note that this is a shared property. The house, and deck are private, but the laundry and fire pit are shared.
Lake Tanwax is a motorized lake. During the summer it is usually active, but not crowded. Most days it will be occupied by a few fisherman durning the morning hours and by a few boaters in the heat of the day.
  • Great location right on the lake. Perfect space for two with all amenities we needed. Kind and responsive hosts. We would definitely stay again!

    Nichole2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The house was easy to check into and it was clean. Kari and Aaron communicated well with us. The loft on the lake is a great location.

    Andrea2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Second time we stayed and loved it as much as the first. Can’t wait to go back!

    Savannah2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I are travel nurses and have been staying at the bungalow for almost 2 months and it has been wonderful. The home is right on the water which is lovely to come home to. Karri and Aaron have done such a good job at making us feel at home. We have everything we need for the kitchen and cleaning. Not to mention our dog has plenty of room to run around on the property. If you love the water this is a great place to visit.

    Savannah2019-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend, dog, and I stayed here for about a month in the winter while I was on contract (I’m a travel nurse) and the bungalow had everything we needed to cook, make coffee, and clean. The place has beautiful views of the lake! Kari and her husband were very friendly and responded very quickly with any question we had.

    Nicole2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • It was great fun to wake up each day at the lake, and to watch the ducks and the eagles throughout the day. Aaron and Kari had smooth check-in and check-out procedures and very good communication, and they had a very professional response to a customer service issue.

    Steve2019-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • We visited over Christmas and had a perfect cozy trip! The cabin in just feet away from the lake and is beautiful even on a rainy, misty day. We especially loved the skylight above the bed- it was almost like camping (only warm, soft and comfortable)! And Aaron and Kari were excellent with communication and check in, it was super smooth and easy to get into the cabin. Thanks so much Aaron and Kari! We will recommend your place to anybody we know heading out that way!

    Nora2018-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a real treat! Enjoy your mornings drinking a cup of coffee and looking out over the lake. Enjoy the change in the sky from sunrise to sunset. . . and the many birds. . . ducks, heron, hummingbirds, coots, merganser! Look up how to get to Mashel Falls and take a hike. We loved the nearby Northwest Trek to view the baby grizzly and other wildlife.

Private guest house with our home on 5 acres between 2 farms totaling 40 acres. It is naturally cool under the large fir trees in summer and the propane fireplace keeps you warm in winter. 40 miles to Mt. Rainier, 24 to Tacoma and 45 to Seattle. Our family has a dog. Our neighbors have horses, chickens and cows. Room to park 2 vehicles in a private driveway. Queen bed in bedroom and Queen sofa bed in living room. Sleeps 4 plus Pack n Play is available for baby.
The guest house features a full kitchen (microwave, toaster, sink, stove top with 4 burners, oven and fridge). There is one bedroom with a furnished bed (the 2nd bed is a Queen sofa bed in the living room). We have a 3/4 bathroom (shower, toilet, sink and 2 cabinets). The living room has a 55 inch flatscreen with Hulu/Netflix/Amazon Prime on a FireStick, a queen sofa bed, a recliner and a chair.
The neighborhood is very quiet and spacious, many residents move out here for peace, quiet and privacy. It's a very pretty part of the state and we hope you enjoy how green it is here! Listen at night for the occasional owl and coyote.
  • Close to a lot of amenities but in a quiet part of town!

    Stella2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable place to stay. It was quiet and peaceful, Becky was quick to respond and all the amenities I needed. Perhaps most important, the bed was quiet comfortable

  • Beckey was a fabulous host. This private space has everything you could possibly need. Highly recommend this quaint space on a beautiful property.

  • A very private, beautiful, & quiet space. Perfect for the escape from reality. Nicely tucked away in a little piece of nowhere.

    Jasmine2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second time staying with here, once was in 2018, now 2020. And both were perfect, clean and fully loaded. She’s very nice and understanding! I highly suggest this place!

    Jaelon2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beckey's place is a wonderfully cozy cottage. I stayed several weeks while waiting to move into our new house, and Beckey keeps it spotless, well stocked, and always had the fire started for me so it would be nice and warm before I got back. If I have out of town family come to visit, Beckey's will be the first place I thibk of to have them stay.

    Valerie2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Becky was super responsive, the cabin had everything we needed. The living area could’ve been a little larger, but it worked for the short amount of time we were there. We would recommend.

Enjoy waterfront serenity! Boating, swimming, fishing, and wildlife watching at your front door. Cozy and unique, we love our vacation property for it's close proximity, yet the feel of being away from it all. In addition to the lake and the private dock, the house is close to many other activities. Northwest Trek is 5 minutes away and Mt. Rainier National park is about 45. Well equipped and comfortable, the perfect get away!
Enjoy 1 acre of wildlife with 70 feet of of waterfront. Located on Lake Tanwax, which is one of Washington's great fishing lakes, you will have the opportunity to see nature up close and personal. The water is literally feet from the front door. Deer and other wildlife regularly wander through the property, while fish and birds abound. You are 5 minutes from Northwest Trek, 10 minutes from Pioneer Farm (authentic farm experience for kids), 45 minutes from Mount Rainier National Park, and the ski hills can be reached in under 2 hours. The house is gated and private, and guests will have a very cozy stay in this 1100 square foot home with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a pullout couch. The kitchen is well stocked and has a full size dishwasher, stove and refrigerator set up for your comfort. If you are like us, you will love sitting on the private dock and enjoying nature or taking a refreshing dip in the water. The summer water temperatures are excellent, and we spend all day in the water and dry in the sun. If you have a boat and want to use the property for boating, then come on down. There is a public boat launch on the lake and you can moor your boat by the dock. Motor boats are allowed on the lake.
The house is private and you will need to access by car. If you are looking for restaurants, or city life, the little town of Eatonville is 15 minutes south on Hwy 161. The town of Graham is 15 minutes north on Hwy 161, which is where you will find grocery stores (Safeway) and other amenities. Puyallup is only 20 minutes away from the house, which is where you will find many restaurants, movie theaters, and any other entertainment type things that you would expect from a local city.
  • This cottage by the lake is absolutely amazing! We had such a wonderful time on Lake Tanwax. It is such a beautiful lake and we had so much swimming, kayaking and floating around. We also fished using the poles that were provided in the garage and had so much fun! We caught two fish and one was a large rainbow trout over 16 inches long, but unfortunately he got a way at the last second! The dock is perfect for fishing, floating and jumping off! My daughter enjoyed the diving boards and even jumped off of the super high one! The house is beautiful inside and it is so serene to be steps away from the water. We enjoyed the fire pit at night and made smores! This place can not be missed! Thank you Aaron and Kari! : )

    Shauna2019-09-22T00:00:00Z

  • 5 star and lots of fun!!!

    Natalya2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • The goal was quality family time & this place exceeded expectations for things to do together! We fished, paddleboated, swam, bbq'd, visited NW Trek & Mt.Ranier. Everyone had a blast and the home was perfect for our family of 4. The hosts had beautiful flowers planted outside, excellent landscaping, gorgeous view. Couldn't ask for more! The home was cozy, stocked with games & family movies, had fishing stuff for the kids and a paddle boat which they took to Rainbow RV Resort for ice cream! I love lake Tanwax, and Aaron & Kari's place is wonderful.

    Ivy2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a place to enjoy a lake, this is it. It is RIGHT on the water. My kids had a wonderful time swimming and paddleboarding. My husband fished all weekend long. We had a wonderful weekend making great family memories here. (**Just don't forget life jackets for the little ones because the water is deep at the end of the dock)

    Jennifer2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed a month at Kari and Aaron’s cottage on the lake, and had a wonderful, peaceful and quiet stay. The lake house is clean, spacious and open with both windows and a porch across the front- right on the water. There is a full size well stocked kitchen, laundry facilities, good, hot water in the bathroom and comfortable furniture. Kari responds quickly to any inquiries and was a great host. My husband enjoyed fishing from the dock and my favorite was watching the wildlife, especially the eagles. Thank you to Kari and Aaron for a wonderful stay and we look forward to future visits.

    Elizabeth2019-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • There's a security gate with you own code. Once you get back there it will open up nice and beautiful. The water is crystal clear and if you get up early enough in the morning you'll see the fish eating the bugs off the top of the water. There's washer dryer fishing poles place to go swimming or for kids to just waddle in the water. Beautiful porch it stretches around the front of the house it's kind of Rustic Inn old Country but it's exactly what I wanted. Reminded me of home and it's very quiet. The house was very clean smell great no need for towels and sheets games board games cards movies for children fully stocked kitchen Crock-Pot rice cooker all the works. I definitely want to go back and bring my family house gets very hot very quickly if you're cold so only use one heater LOL. Beautiful fireplace couldn't ask for more. Hostess was absolutely amazing sweet lady loved it all the way around.

  • We were looking for a quiet, unique getaway to slow down for the weekend, and we absolutely found it! Jim and Elona were quick with responses, their space was clean and beautifully decorated, and the directions were crystal clear and easy to follow . It was a beautiful spot hosted by very friendly people. For sure would recommend !!

    Allison2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing, and well worth it. Highly recommended. The yurt is extremely comfortable, and all the little details made it feel personal and inviting. The bathroom is outstanding and the tile work is out of this world. The water in the hot tub is perfect, and the land is so remarkable. Jim and Elona and hands down some of the best hosts I've encountered. It felt like coming home to family. I will definitely be staying here again.

Fire pit outback with wood provided. They also had fold out chairs which was nice. Not far to a grocery store either. Definitely worth the stay!

  • All the prior reviews are right, Billie and this place are gems! I’ll start by saying that we are hotel people- because you sort of know what you’re getting. But this stay we got so much more than we expected. From a warm and personable welcome to special touches like a fun toddler bedroom. We lucked out to be able to use the kayaks even on a February day. The rooms and living spaces are so roomy and comfortable. Great hot showers after being out in the cold. Everything was clean yet cozy. The kitchen space was fantastic and we easily were able to eat most meals in. It was the perfect low key getaway location.

  • We had a wonderful vacation! Would book again

    Lun2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Billie is a fantastic host and greeted us all individually when we arrived. The place itself has endless thoughtful touches and is equipped with all you might need whether you're staying one night or one month. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to escape into a serene lakeside fairytale house.

  • One of the best AirBnB places we have ever stayed at. Very secure, spacious and best location - right by a beautiful lake, about 1.5hrs from Paradise visitor center of Mt. Rainier NP, about 20 mins to very good restaurant options (in Eatonville/Graham area). Excellent amenities including a full kitchen, a super comfortable bed (+amazing decor) and an a giant screen TV with surround sound (backup for bad weather days). A very responsive and caring host (Billie) who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Highly recommend and will very likely return in Summer for our next vacation in the area.

    Arun2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Billie was a wonderful host and the place was so welcoming with so much to offer. I had my brother and his two children over and there were plenty of things to do and we loved taking the paddle boat on the lake and had a great time. Would highly recommend this place!

    Amy2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • I'm pretty hesitant to stay anywhere except a hotel, but I have to say this blew me away. The communication was amazing. Billie was able to reach about before our stay and provide excellent directions to find the unit. She was also very quick to respond to every question that we had. The beauty of the unit can't be described fully, but must been seen to enjoy. From the pictures I could tell it was a nice place and somewhere I would be comfortable staying. Upon arriving my expectations were shattered. The unit was so far and above anything I could have imagined. Every detail was thought out and constructed so that the stay was not only better than any hotel, but in most cases like being at home. Every amenity is taken care of and is easily laid out and shown on the initial tour. There is also a binder full of quick answers to any questions that may arise as well as suggestions for things to do around the area. For anyone not familiar to the area this is a great resource that Billie has put together. I initially thought that I might feel weird or anxious staying away from home or not in the comfort of a hotel, but as soon as I stepped inside all the fears and worries went away. Billie has done something amazing here and I am so glad I took the risk and had the opportunity to be apart of it. If anyone is uncertain or on the fence about staying here I highly recommend taking the leap. This is such an amazing place and you will definitely not regret your decision to stay here.

  • Best Airbnb I ever stayed at. Host is extremely caring and thoughtful. She truly enjoys hosting people. House was super clean with killer views. The property was spacious and had many amenities to pass the time. Host provided plenty of guides for the area that were extremely useful for a person not from the area. Beds were very comfortable and I woke up every morning rested and ready to conquer the day. You won’t regret staying here and you might not want to leave!

    Emmanuel2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Stay at Billie's was so relaxing! She is so kind, she even texted us offering to bring us something when she went to do groceries 😊 She also left us a little s'mores kit for us to use at her campfire area 👍🏼

  • Billie think's of everything. She greets you with a welcome sign and even fresh cookies. Place is beautiful and Bearific lol. Very clean nice view right on Lake. Has a binder that answers any questions as well as places to go or eat . Otherwise she is prompt to answer and help with anything you could think of most organized Airbnb we have stayed at. We had a house fire end of Oct. So we have been to many airbnbs. Hers is #1 so far. If work and our house was closer would of just stayed there. ☆☆☆☆☆ Thanks Billie

  • This place is so cute and was the perfect place for our family to stay. We loved the access to the lake, the fire pit, beautiful view, family games and the personal touches from the hostess (Billie was the best -- super responsive, sweet, and helpful; her things to do binder was very helpful in exploring the area with our family -- 3 adults and 2 kids (ages 4 and 6)). We had a great time both exploring the area (Mt. Rainer!!) as well as just spending a couple days relaxing by the lake (swimming, kayaking). Beautiful area!

10x20 tent/cabin in the woods. Just an UNHEATED sleeping place with two twin beds (w/bed warmers for chilly nights). We've added a simple composting toilet. Very minimal kitchenette. Come to the house for breakfast. Enjoy the shared outdoor shower room(closed in freezing weather), fire pit and hot tub (no swimsuits please). COVID-19 NOTE: You should be relatively safe here. No crowds. We sanitize every surface, door, knob and light switch. All bedding is washed or sanitized between guests.
I built a floor and one wall with a door. Added a vinyl carport and furnished this little cabin. It sits back in the forest with all the birds and critters. Like camping out only clean and dry with two cozy twin beds (with bed warmers for chilly nights), table and chairs, a tea kettle, and toaster oven. We have added an outdoor shower room to our property. We think you’ll like it.
This secluded little spot is tucked away at the edge of the forest. Only 37 miles from Mt. Rainier National Park, you can catch glimpses of this stunning beauty. You may see deer or elk as they browse the forest and garden. You'll hear bird song and the wind as it dances through the trees. In spring you will be immersed in the froggy chorus. The surrounding area offers so many enticements. Here's a list of just a few: Mt. Rainier National Park Northwest Trek Animal Park and Zip Line Nisqually Wildlife Refuge Harts Lake fishing Pack Forest Olympia Farmers Market Wolf Haven Chihully Glass Museum, Tacoma Tacoma Art Museum Point Defiance Zoo and Park Washington State Capitol Downtown Olympia
  • Jim and Elina were very welcoming and helpful during our stay. The airBNB was everything as described and we enjoyed our experience at the Two Frog Big. I would definitely like to return and would recommend others to stay.

  • Great location and lovely hosts!

    Troi2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We wanted an alternative to staying off the I5 on our way back up to BC from northern California and it was certainly that. It was a little more remote than I had hoped and this was only an issue because we couldn't stay and enjoy the setting and the area. Otherwise it was a LOVELY alternative to the soulless accommodation options along the interstate. We fell asleep to the song of coyotes in the distance and woke up to the plenitude of songbirds in the garden. The tent was basic and, in early October, cool but the bed warmers worked really well and the beds were very comfortable so I had a great night's sleep. Jim was an interesting host and provided us with a delicious, hot baked oatmeal breakfast and great coffee. We could have chatted for hours about many things but, alas, did not have the time to linger so will have to make a point of planning an extra day or two next time to enjoy the pastoral scenery and do some exploring around the base of Mt Rainier, which was close by and a majestic backdrop to the area.

    Jackie2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jim and Elona offer a cozy and beautiful space off the beaten path and away from the major city. There is an amazing outdoor shower that gets impressively hot and immaculately cleaned. We had the best breakfast of our vacation so far, and everyone on the property helped us feel right at home. If you're looking for total privacy, this might not be the spot for you as there are usually people working on the property, but everyone that comes by is super friendly and happy to talk as long or little as you like.

Experience a small goat dairy farm near Eatonville Wa, We are a small Grade A Goat dairy on 25 acres. We have 85 plus goats, 100 ducks and 100 chickens, along with farm dogs and cats. Experience the farm by collecting eggs and milk for your breakfast, or join us on a feed shift or learn how to milk. Farming not totally your thing, we are 40 minutes from Mt Rainier National Park. We have shared kitchen and bathroom 50 feet from cabin.
  • Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to stay at the farm, due to some logistical issues. Jeremy was so professional and prompt. He refunded our rental the next business day. I would love to have stayed at the farm; hopefully it’ll work out next time. Thanks, Jeremy!

  • This was a fun overnight getaway! The stars of the show, of course, are the goats. We helped with milking and enjoyed a dinner with other farm guests. The lodgings are simple and no frills (shared shower/bath in the main house, sparsely furnished cabin), but the bed was comfy and Grace was very kind and welcoming.

    Lori2018-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what an awesome experience! Jeremy was a great host with amazing hospitality. Fresh veggies from the garden, eggs from the chickens and milk from the goats all yours to eat! Very cool experience living on a farm for a day, wish we could've stayed longer. Will definitely be staying again next trip to Washington.

  • This cozy lake house cottage has so many welcoming touches you won't want to leave to explore the great nature surrounding you, but you should. Close to Mt. Rainier, Northwest Trek, and multiple hiking opportunities. There is a fire pit in the backyard to sit, make smores and watch the lake. My granddaughter caught her first fish on the dock, and there were plenty of items offered to make the most of the lake. It is the perfect place to "unplug", enjoy nature and the people around you. The host was more than welcoming, quick to respond, gave us our privacy and made us feel like we were staying at a friend's house. We will be booking again.

Family Lake house with Dock, Quaint & Comfortable. View of Mt. Rainier. Good swimming. Nearby things to do: - 1/4 mi from Northwest Trek - 30 mi from Mt Ranier Nat'l Park - Pioneer Farm (authentic experience for kids!)
The lake house was built by our grandfather, an immigrant from Sweden. It is a charming space that includes a very bright little kitchen, laundry alcove, two bedrooms (the larger has a queen size bed and the other has twin beds) and one bathroom. There is a carport for one car, a deck and a dock.
The Clear Lake community is a friendly place that accommodates many kinds of people. There are the quiet fishermen in the early morning, the water sports people during the heat of the day and friendly neighbors. Properties bordering the Clear Lake house are a second home on one side and a lot with no home on the other.
  • This lakeside house was perfect for a relaxing weekend! And the view was tremendous! We loved that it was close to Mt. Rainier and other hiking trails.

  • This cute and airy cabin was well stocked with everything we could have needed and a had beautiful view of the lake! We will definitely be back.

  • Highly recommend this house. This is a great place for two-four people. We were just two and it was perfect. A single person would be very comfortable here and not worry about the neighbors. They are very pleasant on both sides. The lake is clear and good temperature for swimming. There are skiers but it is quiet in the mornings. Beautiful view of Mt Rainier. We saw ospreys and eagles. We didn’t have trouble keeping the place cool in 80’s weather. Great place to fish, swim, relax and enjoy the outdoors. We contacted one of the owners. She was very quick to respond.

    Lisa2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a true slice of heaven. I loved sitting out on the deck staring out onto the lake. It is so peaceful here and the house has everything you need to be comfortable and enjoy your time at the lake. We will definitely be back!

    Stephanie2019-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • The house is cozy and clean, attractive. The location right on the lake shore is ideal with Mt. Rainier right in front of you on a clear day. I could have sat on the deck and looked out over the lake all day. The dogs had a wonderful time splashing in and out of the water. could not have asked for a better weekend getaway.

    Ellin2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place was quaint and cozy. The lake view was just breath taking. It was serene and relaxing. I had breakfast outside and watched others on their boats. It made me want to buy a lake front property! There was a peddle boat which we never got to use; there were so many other things provided by the owners which we didn’t get to enjoy since our stay was so short. We had a lovely experience.

    Anne2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • This house has a wonderful view of the lake and Mt. Rainier. Communication and check in went seamlessly - it is well equipped and has the feel of a multi-generational vacation home. We look forward to visiting again.

  • The place is located in a beautiful neighborhood and there are beautiful views. There is a great view of Mt. Rainier from the backyard and we even saw a rainbow! There is a pool in the backyard that looked very clean (but I didn't use it because it was winter). The place sleeps four comfortably, though there is also couch, roll out bed, and air mattress for more guests. There is only one shower though but there is a tub too. The kitchen is a good place to play board games. It is a good place to get takeout or pizza since there is no stove (there is small induction stove). There is an oven but I didn't try using it, so heating up a frozen meal like lasagna would also be a good idea. Overall it is a very lovely place. It is warm and cozy and a great place to hangout.

    Amy2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, the view. Back yard is awesome, watch Rainier change colors leading to sunset. Hosts are incredible, every want and need met, unexpected breakfast as we were all on motorcycles. A+

  • My wife and I stayed at Geri’s beautiful cozy guesthouse for our trip to Mt. Rainier National Park. The guesthouse was very clean and gave us all we needed, in addition to quiet, privacy, and comfort. The bed we slept on was great (we ended up sleeping in a lot longer than we intended) and the living room couches were nice to relax on after a long day of hiking. The views from the backyard of Mt. Rainier, etc. were amazing and peaceful, and the swings and chairs in the backyard were also comfortable. Geri was a wonderful kind host, communicating so thoroughly and making sure we would have everything we needed. We felt very welcomed and really enjoyed our stay.

  • Great place with excellent accessibility to Mount Rainier National Park

    John2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a small, cozy and beautiful guesthouse with a large garden outside on a ridge overseeing a lake and Mt Rainier. We spent a lot of our time outside, enjoying the scenery and the serene atmosphere. We even managed to see Mount Rainier on one clear day, it is a magnificent sight. We had a wonderful restful sleep (this usually is my number one concern when sleeping outside one's home). Our host, Geri, was very friendly and welcoming and we are happy we booked our B&B here while visiting Mount Rainer National park which is only 35 minutes away.

    Harsh2018-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Geri’s place during a hiking trip to mount rainier. Her home is less than an hour to paradise so we we’re able to beat the traffic and start our day very early. The unit is a private guest suite attached to her home. The unit has a private entrance and an amazing sunset view that includes wilderness, a lake and mount rainier. The house has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The beds are very comfortable. The living room furniture was big and soft and excellent for napping. The kitchenette is small but perfect for what we needed. There is a patio and chairs on the view side of he home. The area is very private. Geri is a wonderful host, very thoughtful and easy to communicate with, and gave us just enough privacy. We will be returning!

  • This a charming space with rustic delight. The owner Fiona is an interior designer and can make the space your dream. Yes, the bathroom is portable; however, it is very clean and close by-- do not let this steer you away. This was used for a day retreat and was wonderful. It was in a non-urban setting that allowed a feeling of the mini-getaway. Fiona is very responsive and is nearby if you need anything.

  • Very clean and cozy house! Great amenities! We enjoyed the views from the big deck and enjoyed our meals outside. We brought our own kayaks, but the kids loved using the paddle boat even more! Bill and Ellen were so kind to stop by and introduce themselves and offer a boat ride around the lake. Our kids loved it and begged to come back every year.

  • A true gem! This is the perfect place to unwind and relax. The lake is beautiful and everyone is so friendly. The paddle boat and kayaks we a lot of fun. Bill and Ellen also let us use their row boat to do some fishing out on the lake. It was a perfect weekend!! Thanks again!

  • This cabin is cozy, clean and has such a great location. The deck area is amazing and the kayaks and paddle boat were an unexpected perk. Bill and Ellen were thoughtful and easy to reach. We found everything we needed to make this cabin our home for the weekend. We initially wanted to use the cabin as a home base while we explored and hiked Mt. Rainier. However we found ourselves spending more time at the cabin kayaking the lake, roasting s’mores in the fire pit and just lounging on the huge deck. This place was a great find!!

    Katharina2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Bill and Ellen were great hosts! Everything was exactly as described, we had a blast! They even went out of the way to take our boys on a ride around the lake giving them lessons on driving a speed boat! Thank you Bill and Ellen for letting us stay at your home!

  • Gail and Dave’s little lake house was perfect for our family of five. We stayed two nights using it as our base camp to make a day trip to Mt. Rainier. The house is right in front of the lake and we enjoyed the view throughout the day, complementary boat ride, kayak and BBQ on the deck. We’d love to come back again.

  • A beautiful view of the lake! Very clean and in an excellent location with lots of things to do in the area. This place has to be one of the most beautiful stays for us!

  • Wonderful location right on the lake with use of kayaks, a BBQ and a paddle boat. David and Gail took us out on their boat and went out of their way to help us feel comfortable and welcome.

    Jade2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy and clean lake house. The views of the lake were amazing including the outside deck, the dock and also the front room. Gail and David were great hosts and the pontoon ride was a great way to see the entire lake. We used the paddle boat and the kayaks. Even jumped in the surprisingly warm water. Both nights we used the brand new barbecue for dinner. Really close to Northwest Trek and 1.5 hour drive to Paradise Visitor Center on Mt. Rainer. Great staycation and will try to return next year.

    Jennifer2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful place! It's a piece of heaven in the middle of nowhere!

    Madison2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Gail’s was so nice that it was difficult to leave! She was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. We also had a free pontoon boat cruise as part of the stay given to us by the hosts. The hosts told us all about the history of the area and some great hiking trails nearby. The photos did not truly capture the beauty of the space—we had amazing views of the lake from the kitchen and bedroom, and enjoyed going onto the balcony at night to relax by the lake. Everything in the space felt very clean and easy to find. She also had some very cute decorations/touches. One thing to note is that the beds were not in separate rooms, but were separated by a curtain. This was fine and still felt private as a group of four. We could also use the paddle boat and kayak for free. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to relax at a very scenic spot!

    Amanda2019-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • The location on the lake was serene and beautiful, the house exceptionally clean and comfortable, and our hosts helpful with knowledge about resident eagles and other local lore. It was also close to town and other points of interest. I got some fabulous early morning photos of mist rising from the lake. My photos of the resident eagles were not sharp, but it was fun to watch them and the osprey fishing. We didn’t get out on the lake, which our hosts offered...next time. It is a pleasure to recommend it.

  • Just stayed there for two nights, very happy with our stay. Although it's old, not so crispy bedding, but, the location, lots of beds and more than enough kitchen supply, made the whole stay satisfying! Bonus, last night, we walking to the river throught the pathway in the woods, we watched the sunset of.Mt Rainier right at river bank! Love it!

  • Great location!

    Kahlen2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely perfect for our group! We needed a space large enough to accommodate a large group of 4-H kids for a competition we were doing nearby. This place was absolutely perfect the pictures do no justice! The river is a 3-minute walk down a nicely made Trail. Multiple patios, barbecue, lots and lots of seasonings and spices and hot tea, enough beds and bedding and towels for the whole group. A decent selection of movies. Wood was already cut and stacked for the wood stove inside and the large fire pit outside. S'mores and hot dog sticks were there available for use. This place beyond exceeded our expectations, and we look forward to booking again next year!

    Katrina2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Karin was responsive and kind. They left us little ornaments as a welcome gift, and the place was quirky and perfect for a winter woodsy getaway!

Quaint, private suite with bedroom and sitting room. Detached from, yet close to main house where you share bathroom, kitchen and TV room. Perfect for the adventurous at heart. Nestled on 5 acres, minutes from hiking and skiing at Mt. Rainier National Park. Wake to singing coyotes or bugling elk.
Located minutes from the entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park means that you can spend the day at the mountain exploring, hiking, skiing or snowshoeing and still enjoy a relaxing evening "at home". Our cozy suite of 2 rooms -- sitting room and bedroom -- are up an easy flight of stairs to the attic space of our detached garage built in the 1940's when the main house, which originally sat one mile away in the little town of Alder, was moved to it's present location after completion of the LaGrande Dam on the Nisqually River flooded the town. Upon entering, be prepared for a wave of peaceful happiness to sweep over you as the "warm and fuzzy" feel of the space works it's magic -- evoking hints of hobbits and old world charm. The sitting room has 2 comfy recliners, card table and assortment of games, electric fireplace for heat and ambiance, writing desk, wi-fi, TV with DVD and VCR (discreetly covered with black velvet until ready for use) and hutch with water crock and hot water station so you can enjoy your morning brew in the comfort of your private space. The bedroom has a supportive pillowtop queen bed with down comforter, reading light, cedar armoire, oak dresser, glide rocker and electric baseboard heat. Towels are provided. A private, protected patio space on the ground level borders a large lawn and looks out into lush woods. It is not unusual to see deer or elk in our yard, hear owls hooting in our woods, elk bugling during the rutting season or coyotes calling in the night. The main house is 50 ft from your door where you share the full bathroom (there are no facilities in your room), kitchen and TV room but, being 2 stories with 2100 sq. ft. and two bathrooms, these shared spaces will most likely be your private digs. We are happy to share our DVD's and you are welcome to peruse our library of books on hiking and local places of interest. We do have clean and friendly cats and dogs which live in our house and who would be happy to do their part to fill the void felt from a pet left at home. Situated on 5 acres of private woods and lawn, you can relax in a lounge chair, play croquet, badmitton, bocce ball or walk the trails in our private woods. We are close to Alder Lake for fishing, swimming, canoeing and kayaking and Mineral Lake, a picturesque and fine fishing destination, is 10 minutes away. We are "on the Highway to Paradise" -- the main visitor center at Mt. Rainier National Park -- and on the way to the Mt. Adams Wilderness Area, White Pass Ski Resort, Goat Rocks Wilderness Area, Gifford Pinchot National Forest and Mt. St. Helen's National Park. This expansive wilderness area is a perfect playground for hikers, backpackers, mountaineers, skiiers, snowshoers, bikers or car traveler tourists.
