Janilee was a wonderful host. This home is perfect for a visit to Hanover, Lebanon or Enfield-it's right on the lake and just down the road from a general store. It is also close to the rail trail. The house was very clean and comfortable. I'd stay there again!

Janilee's 2 story condo was the perfect start to our 10 day get-a-way. Quaint, clean and cozy with cool nights for great sleeping in a very comfortable bed! Lake and pool access was available, but we hiked and found access to many nearby trails to keep us active! Highly recommend for the "get away from the big city" in us!

The place is totally charming, close to Lake Crystal Lake. Quiet, friendly, warm. We enjoyed the fireplace. The bed is comfortable. The kitchen allows you to whip up dishes. Small course on the back that gives privacy. Well located, close to the lake, near the road to Lebanon NH. Jenilee was easy to reach, patient and friendly.

We had a good time at the Mary Keane House. The room is large and cosy. there is a direct access to the very nice shore of the lake. We did not have the opportunity to use the kayakees or paddle boards... next time! We just missed a café or restaurant in a walking distance...

The Mary Keane House is a historic house located on the grounds of the Shaker Museum near the quaint town of Enfield, NH. We stayed in a very large guest suite on the first floor that had its own entrance and a private enclosed sunroom equipped with a refrigerator and microwave and comfortable lounge chairs. The property abuts a beautiful large lake and there are canoes and kayaks that guests can use but unfortunately we didn't have time to take advantage of that amenity. Richard was easy to communicate with and very helpful in recommending hiking routes and restaurants. Breakfast is not provided but he offered us coffee and tea in the morning along with interesting conversation. We enjoyed our stay here very much and would not hesitate to book again if we return to the Upper Valley.

I had the pleasure of staying at Richard and Lisa's place for 4 nights while I attended a workshop at the Shaker Museum just a little bit away from the house. The location is great, Lisa's gardens are beautiful and the house so lovely, the pictures don't do it justice. The apartment is sweet, with plenty of space, a lovely sun porch, a tiled bathroom, and a walk in closet to store your luggage and clothes. Lisa was kind enough to lend me their electric tea kettle and there is a small fridge in the sun room. The private beach is a lovely walk down the lawn. The lake is gorgeous and clean and there was a kayak, canoe and paddle board available to use. We canoed out in to the lake at sunset all 4 nights and watched the full moon rise. Swimming was wonderful during the day. Lisa and Richard made me feel welcome and at home. Looking forward to returning next year. It is a wonderful place to enjoy the outdoors and the beautiful surrounds. There are superb hikes just across the road.

My wife and I were very pleased with the lovely private space and the warm hospitality Lisa and Dick provided in their historically significant home. Having access to the lake was a big plus after our bike ride. I'm always looking for a comfortable bed. We were extremely comfortable and had a great nights sleep. Another big plus was the sitting room with many windows. If we again stay in the area we will be sure to book with Lisa and Richard.

This was our first time trying AirBnB, and the experience was wonderful! The accommodations are exactly as described. I have worked in the hospitality industry in the past for many years, and I was very impressed with the cleanliness, comfort, and privacy. We booked this trip last minute because of bad weather at home, and we were able to relax here, while also using it as a "base camp" for many outdoor adventures in the area. We would love to come back again, and we definitely recommend the Mary Keane House to friends and family!

This was our second trip staying at the Mary Keane House. Dick and Lisa are wonderful hosts and extremely gracious people. We had a phenomenal stay. Dick and Lisa provided us with plenty of suggestions for hiking, travel in the area and dining. We took daily hikes on amazing trails directly across the road from their home. The bedroom is spacious and warm and the sun room is a fantastic place to relax. Their grounds are beautiful and impeccable. Benny, their dog, could not be sweeter. : ) We will return!

I loved everything about my stay at The Mary Keane House with one exception, my stay was way too short. Dick and Lisa are great communicators and were more than generous sharing their amazing home and grounds. I do wish I had more time to visit with the hosts but that will be next time because I will return! Our daughter, a student, joined me one afternoon and evening. We enjoyed time on the private beach and in the sitting room with Bennie, the resident lab. We both felt welcomed and extremely comfortable. The drive to Dartmouth took roughly 20 minutes. Yes, many of the local hotels are 10 minutes from campus but the extra 10 minutes to The Mary Keane House was more than worth it.

Allison was a great host who friendly welcomed us in her home! The house itself was just amazing! Perfectly located right by the lake - ideal for a swim and isolated from traffic or other noises. Everything was in really good condition and Allison even left us some food for breakfast (orange juice, english muffins,...). I can only recommend this place! It's the perfect environment to relax, enjoy nature and barbecue. We really had a blast staying at her house and we would love to come back!

Excellent stay at Alison's home. The porch overlooking the lake is stunning and our family of 11 spent most our time on the porch during our stay. Would love to stay here again. She lives in the house with her daughter during the year so everything felt very homey. Room with bunkbeds is perfect for children; my 5 and 3 year old cousins loved the room. Alison was flexible in accommodating my dad's seeing eye dog, our messy lobster bake, and making an additional room available to us. Note to others: lots of mosquitos (it is by a lake!) make sure you're well covered in bug spray in the evening! Alison left plenty out for us but we thought we were stronger - we were not. Beautiful lake is the price to pay. Overall, we love our stay over Dartmouth graduation weekend and would highly recommend this to others looking for a little peace and quiet for the family.

My friends & I really enjoyed our long weekend at your house. Everything we needed was supplied. It was a perfect place to relax a the lake, hike on a near by trail & sit by the fire pit w s'more, we would def go back again!

I came for a weekend with a group of friends from college and we had a wonderful time. The house is very clean, and decorated in a wonderfully quirky/happy way. There were many nice touches/everything you could need, such as coffee, milk, board games, and even sunscreen. It rained most of the weekend, but we still had an excellent weekend, and would definitely come back.

Incredible...outstanding.... We rented this house as a venue to host a very small, intimate wedding and family gathering. Allison was not only welcoming and accommodating, she made us feel like family right from the start. The house was perfect. It's spacious and clean and well equipped. It's situated on a beautiful part of the lake. I would definitely recommend this property to everyone and am hopeful that we can return.

This was a top notch experience. From before the booking, Allison was accessible and quick with her responses to my many questions. The house more than met our expectations and the lovely porch was the centerpiece of our stay. It easily accommodated our 9 overnight guests and several daytime visitors. The house is very well maintained and in excellent working order. It is only a few steps from the porch to the wonderfully clear lake with a sandy bottom. Upon request, Allison left us a trove of "water toys" to play with. We drove back and forth to Hanover several times over the stay and the trip was only about 20 mins, as Allsion had assured me it would be. None of us wanted to leave at the end and we have vowed to return, if possible. 'Nuf said!

From the cleanliness of the house to the hospitality from the lovely Ms. Julia, I just couldn't say enough great things about my stay. It's like a little piece of heaven in New Hampshire. She has the sweetest and most-well behaved dog that loves playing fetch. This being my first experience with Airbnb, I didn't know what to expect but because of Julia, I will definitely return to the app if I'm ever in need of a place to stay.

This cottage is absolutely wonderful, we felt immediately at home here. The house is very spacious and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need to make dinner. There's even an iPhone with lots of good music on it. Who doesn't like to sing along with Marvin Gaye and Leonard Cohen while making spaghetti :) The surroundings are enchanting. Due to the fantastic weather we were able to swim and canoe several times on the lake. This was the perfect place to end our 3 week roadtrip through the Northeast of the USA. Loved every second of it, thanks Ethan!

We had a wonderful time at the lake. Ethan made us feel welcome and was very flexible with his pet policy. The interior was clean and tactfully decorated. He left us a directory of the area and gave some helpful recommendations for dining and shopping. Sheets and towels were freshly laundered. As newbie's to Airbnb this was a bit of a surprise. We felt like we were literally walking into someone's house and it looked like they just left. Kind of creepy with someone else's things everywhere but maybe that's just us. We really tried to make the best of it. There were some unique features - the front porch was awesome! Mornings were quiet and we loved watching the chipmunks and birds at the feeders. The neighbors were quite loud most of the time but we managed to hear the loons at night a few times and that was wonderful.

We had a wonderful stay at Ethan's place on Goose Pond. The pond is more the size of a small lake which was a nice surprise. Quiet and peaceful, a wonderful place to relax with a book, campfire, and recreate on the water!

I had the greatest time. Im commuting for a temp job and decided to make a vacation out of it by staying here. By far the greatest decion I could make. I was extremely thrilled by the ease of everything, the helpfulness of the owner, and the setting. It was super clean and they had books, board games, and water equipment (canoes, stand up paddle boards, etc.). Great place to stay, my dog was severely depressed to leave. So, I naturally had to book it for 2 more weeks :)

Both Carolyn and Stephen made me feel welcome on arrival (as did their two dogs). They appear to enjoy sharing their beautiful home with others, and there are no invisible barriers. The facilities are very good and everything is kept spotlessly clean. Breakfast at short notice was no problem, and guests could come and go as they pleased.

As a first time traveler to the Hanover area, I couldn't have asked for a better experience than what I had at the Stagecoach Lodge. Carolyn and Stephen are amazing hosts who do an excellent job of making you feel at home and are even better people. Everything is first class about the Stagecoach Lodge with spacious, clean rooms, excellent bathrooms, every amentity you need provided, and a beautiful location. I truly don't have any complaints about my experience there. While it might be a little bit of a drive from Hanover, the Stagecoach Lodge is an absolute gem that I would recommend to anyone.

First and foremost, we love, love, loved their dogs!!!!!!!! We felt so welcomed staying at their beautiful antique home. We would love to become regular visitors! My boyfriend Shane had an event at the racetrack and we needed a place to stay, we love Airbnb, and adore antique houses so we were extremely excited when there was a room available! Beautiful, restored victorian house close to Mt. Cardigan. Our bedroom (and the whole house) were very clean. We enjoyed chatting with Carolyn and getting advice/direction for local area activities. We felt encouraged and made use of the kitchen and other common areas. Awesome spot!

Our stay at the Stagecoach was extremely pleasant . The house is filled with peace,history, and love. I would encourage anyone to stop and stay for a great experience. My daughter was enchanted with the owners as well as their 4 legged little loves. We would not hesitate to stay again. Thank you guys for being such amazing host.

Paul was a great communicator and host! Very prompt and understanding (letting us bring our small dog). But the cabin definitely looks better in pictures than in person. It kinda looks like a cabin from a horror film--thought maybe Jason was going to jump out of the woods and murder me! It just isn't my sorta place, it's falling apart, dirty and uncomfortable. It was ok in a pinch (there was no hotel in area of our family reunion!) Pillows were stained brown and blankets looked like they were from the 80s. My toddler slept on an air mattress because there was no way I was putting him on that old bedding. I'm just trying to be honest, not a snob. If you like old (not cute vintage though) and fixer uppers, then this place is for you! It's in a beautiful area, very secluded, you will not be bothered. I hate writing a negative review, but I would not recommend anyone stay here.

Fantastic value! Paul left a very detailed note explaining all aspects of the cabin, and the cabin was clean and heated when we arrived. There was plenty of wood for the wood stove, and the kitchen was stocked with oil, butter, and spices. There's a extensive book collection on the walls, which provided fireside reading material. I'm looking forward to staying here again!

This lakefront house is just as cute as it looks. We spent 3 relaxing mornings drinking coffee in Adirondack chairs overlooking the dock and went hiking nearby in the afternoons. The house has everything you could need from kayaks to an equipped kitchen to children's books. It seems like it would be great for a weekend with kids, but was also perfect for my weekend with old friends. Steve responded quickly to all my messages. Would definitely go again!

What a great experience! Steve was highly communicative and attended to every detail, which made staying at this absolutely lovely lakeside home absolutely trouble-free. The home itself was warm and cozy and it was as clean as it gets. It was very cool to be staying in what was once the old school house; you can feel the history. The outdoor amenities were absolutely fantastic! From kayaking to fishing, to having a campfire... it's all there. The lake is absolutely pristine. There is also great mountain hiking just a short drive away. We look forward to coming back again sometime soon. I cannot recommend it more highly. This is a gorgeous home with a beautiful view and I’d love the opportunity to visit again! I was joined by a couple of my friends for a weekend hiking and rock climbing trip, and even though we were rained out, we still had a splendid time. We found the home to be immaculate with all the makings of a fantastic vacation -- board games, movies, details on nearby fun places to visit. The home has plenty of room for several guests plus a sizeable kitchen where we easily cooked up some incredible meals for the five of us. The lake, with two access points directly from the backyard, is perfect for gazing, kayaking, or paddleboarding. This is a convenient vacation spot (about two hours from Boston) for anyone in need of some time with nature, a couple, or a group. I think I speak for all of us when I write that we hope to be back soon!

Fern was a fantastic host - catering to our arrival time needs and some dietary restrictions. Wonderful cook and very close to Dartmouth and area restaurants. Her land is very peaceful and scenic and her home is spacious and welcoming. Fern goes above and beyond in providing help and attention to your travel needs.

Fern's home comfortably accommodated our family (two couples), with lovely places for reading, (indoors and out), beautiful gardens for exploring, and lots of peace and quiet. Lots of attention to detail, down to bathrobes and slippers in the closets. Fern was very responsive to our needs and interests; we mentioned the lovely night sky from her location, and the next evening she had a telescope waiting for us by the door! Fern also knows Hanover intimately well and gave us terrific suggestions for things to do and places to visit. The best part, however, was the way Fern made us feel like welcome guests and not customers. She is a gracious hostess and, now, a new friend! Highly recommended.

We had a really lovely experience with Fern and her beautiful home that she shared with us! The space was spotlessly clean and well appointed. Fern is a wonderful cook and served delicious gourmet breakfasts. Fern was very attentive to us, and she made great suggestions for us for things to do in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed the Hanover area and all it had to offer. Thank you, Fern, for contributing to a wonderful stay. At the end of the our stay, we did mention to Fern that it would be clearer to future guests if she moved the note about needing to pay an additional 9% NH state tax nearer to the top of her description or under additional notes. We recently noticed that she has now done so. Reflecting further upon our stay, we had the following suggestions to clarify for future guests in Fern’s description of her property: -The queen-sized bed is quite comfortable but it is actually a queen-sized futon with a memory foam topper. - The guest space was quite large, however rather than being the entire house, it was actually a portion of the house that had been screened for privacy. -The two small HDTVs are limited to 3 stations (PBS and local stations). All is all, these were not big concerns to us, but we offer them as a way to help others have a clearer picture of what to expect.

We had a wonderful weekend at Fern's house while we were looking at colleges for my oldest son. The space which is available for guests was wonderful with pelnty of space for a family of four- a big living room, beautiful sun porch, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Everything was provided including lots of clean towels and robes. Fern provided afternoon tea and wonderful homemade breakfasts made with local specialties (homemade waffles with tarragon sausage one morning and beautiful omelets the next) both with coffee, tea, milk, juice, fresh fruit and lovely muffins. The location on a private open hillside gave beautiful views in all directions. We may have to come back to see it in the summer when the gardens are in bloom!

Imagine viewing from each window the autumnal landscape on a New Hampshire mountaintop, full of crimsons, gold, and sienna. Then, smelling the coffee and waffles cooking. You enter the Provençal room in which Fern has left a copy of the "Valley News" for you to read while you linger over the gourmet breakfast. Of course, this is after you have slept the soundest night possible because of the lack of ambient light and sound. 23 acres of gardens and trees protect you from the clamor of the outer world. Peace at last. In the master bedroom there are shelves of books from history to music to contemplate. You have your own living room as well as a second bedroom with two beds. The best part of this luxurious lifestyle at affordable prices is the host herself, Fern, and her little black terrier, Wellington, both of whom will welcome you with graciousness and generosity of spirit. We hope to return to this mountain respite when we can, but imagine this landscape in the winter during which season Fern will lend you her snowshoes so that you can take a trek into the woods, or in the spring with the blossoming of her gardens and trees. This is a place and a host for all seasons! Enjoy!

Fern's house in fantastic! The view is amazing and the rooms are very luxurious. She was a warm and lovely host who also happens to be a gourmet cook! She made breakfast for us which was delicious and made us feel at home. Staying at Fern's place is experiencing Upper Valley at its best! I highly recommend it.

Eng-Beng had a very nice apartment. The only issue was the location on the map on airbnb showed that the apartment was north of Dartmouth college and much closer to the town of Hanover than it actually was.

Eng-Beng went out of his way to make me feel at home and ensure that I had what I needed. Being new in he also showed me around and spent time chatting and making my stay very gratifying. I can say that I left his place having made a new friend!

I was visiting Hanover for an interview and needed a place to stay. Eng's place offered a location that was close to town at a reasonable price point. Eng was a great host that made the effort to make me welcome as a guest. I was provided my own set of keys to the unit and had my own area within the condo. I was able to come and go freely as I had business to attend to in the area. The flexibility of the housing arrangement made it an appealing option. Eng was hospitable and courteous. Furthermore, he provided some great insight about the local town/university. Thanks for the accommodation, Eng.

We stayed at the Black Bear Lodge for 2 nights and had a blast. The house is well equipped with plenty of rooms/bedrooms/living rooms bathrooms etc. We had a group of 11 people and felt like we could probably fit 20 people comfortably in the house. The house itself is situated right on the lake. You could would out of the basement living room right into a small little pier. Unfortunately for us, the lake was frozen and covered in snow but the view itself was beautiful. The location is close to multiple mountains for skiing or snowboarding. Comes equipped with washer and dryer. The house has plates and utensils and several pots and pans. It has 2 living rooms with a large screen TV in each. Bring a Chromecast if you do go if you want to stream movies etc. Cellular reception is pretty much nil in the area but he does have an ATT microcell he can add you to. Wifi was good and strong for 11 people. The house is a little difficult to find because the street that its on is divided between two towns and it took us a while to find it. For reference, the house is located close to an RV park that is across the street. Would definitely rent again either during the Summer or Winter.

Andy's house is perfectly located right on Mascoma Lake. It's so beautiful! The house is so cozy, comfortable, clean, welcoming, and has many opportunities for beautiful photos and memories. Since my stay here was during the winter along with a snow storm / blizzard the morning I was checking out, the house and the view was so magical. I can't even imagine it during the summer with a sunset view on the water. Andy was super welcoming and communicative during my stay, awesome host ! Loved it. The basement is well equipped for kids to hang out at and the living room has a beautiful fire place for everyone to gather around. Five stars ! Will be coming back for sure

Andy´s, your place is great, much better than expected. Everything is new and very well take care of. The kitchen is very well equipped, sofas are amazing, smart TVs are great and in general works perfect for big groups like us (16 people). The location in front of the lake is amazing. During our stay, the lake was frozen that make it look beautiful, but I guess than during summer is even better. Andy was always very responsive and everything worked smoothly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place to anybody.

This was my first time visiting New Hampshire and Will and Michele helped make it an even more awesome experience! They're an awesome sweet couple that were super helpful with any questions I had. The room and bathroom are super clean (they keep the whole house nice and tidy) and the bed is comfortable. There's a TV with Netflix in the bedroom. Their 2 dogs and 1 cat are very friendly. I had open and full access to the kitchen (they even gave me some fresh eggs to use for breakfast). They gave me great recommendations of places to visit while I was there and really helped make my stay even more of a pleasant experience. I would definitely stay here again.

He has a good taste in movies and you can talk with him about too many things. The room is really good and you have a big TV with Netflix to enjoy your stay. I cannot be even happier with my stay there, I really enjoyed!!

You will enjoy both Will and Michele. They are so friendly and willing to help make your stay very comfortable. The location to Dartmouth was perfect for us! Enjoy!

Jane's home is absolutely beautiful, and the location cannot be beat: soaring views of the NH woods across beautiful lawns, and with close proximity to Dartmouth. Her furnishings and art are very fine and she was welcoming and easily accessible to us as we made our plans. This is a shared space in the home that she occupies with her two dogs, without a private entrance. You will share private, upstairs quarters with two bedrooms and a bath, though you get there through the main house, some of which, like the living room and back porch, we were able to use as common areas. The bedrooms each have two twin beds. The rooms are nicely furnished and she provided us with everything we could need that we might find at a hotel. However, we had expected access to the entire home, and realized upon arriving that we would not be alone nor have the ability to cook our meals in her kitchen. To her credit, Jane was very understanding and accommodating despite our misunderstanding. We slept very well and felt extremely welcome and comfortable despite our misunderstanding about what to expect. I would say, this is more like a very nice B&B, rather than a whole home you are renting for yourself. (Although she does offer the whole house at a higher price). She even provided us with homemade muffins and granola in the morning! I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an authentic, New England B&B experience.

Michael was so kind and warm welcoming my family. He gave us kind instruction how to find the house, park my car and use facilities. The house was also very nice and clean for my family to stay. Our family felt like we are staying our own house. Would like to visit again..

It was a great experience. Michael is really a nice person. He was very patient with my mum who does't speak a lot of English, and he helped my mum and I carried suitcases. The house is pretty nice. It is comfy and clean.

Even though the host was out of town during our stay, we always felt like we were in great hands. Michael was prompt to reply to our messages and made sure that we arrived safely. His friend took great care to ensure we had everything we needed and to answer any questions we might have. The apartment was clean and spacious, a great fit for 5 friends, and with three double beds it's perfect for three couples or a family. The neighborhood is quiet and easily accessible by car and a good "home base" for hiking in the area. Cell phone reception in the valley is spotty at best, but the apartment has strong Wi-Fi.

My kids and I thoroughly enjoyed the space. It is very functional and in a great location for the ski areas. Michael was a fabulous host and even gave us a tour of his wonderful, historic home. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a home base to explore the area.

It was such an awesome stay we have had in this place. Both adults and kids enjoyed it so much. The house is nice clean spacious and beautiful. Michael was so kind by waiting for us even we came at late afternoon. Thank you very much.

Michael was very helpful in making sure my family of five and our 13yo dog was welcomed "home". We had a rather quick visit to Canaan for a wedding and the apartment was perfect for our family. Michael contacted us before the weekend to ensure our needs would be met, and they were. The apartment is clean, without smells, and very comfortable. I'm sensitive to odors and often travel with air freshener. It was not needed. The beds and pillows were comfortable and gave way to a good night's sleep. There is no television and none of us noticed. We look forward to our next trip to Canaan and plan to book the apartment again.
