“Great gastro pub with good food, armchairs and a lively bar that's busy at weekends. Has an outside terrace at the back too. Located in the centre of Epping.”

“Part of the Wildwood chain, it's a nice restaurant serving pasta, pizza and grills etc. Always busy although often just full of families until a little later in the evening. ”

“Big horrible ugly Tesco - but plenty of parking and sells most things you'd need. If you want nice foodie and wine bits, better to try M&S on the High Street or go to Ashlyns Farm shop.”

“Lovely local coffee shop serving great avocado on toast and other healthy snacks. Cosy and buzzy. Great glass of prosecco on offer too!”

Bar
“This is a pub (don't know why there's no 'Pub' choice on Airbnb!). The Forest Gate is a great local Freehold pub - the landlord runs it like a good old fashioned pub. He frowns on mobile phone use but serves great ales and hearty bar snacks and food. It's a great spot to park up and then go for a walk in Epping Forest 100m away. Popular with walkers and dog owners. ”

Clothing Store
“Added this because it's such a fabulous old fashioned menswear shop. Sells shirts, jackets, coats, hats, gloves, scarves, brollies etc. Also has a hire section if you need black tie or morning suit. The staff are old school and exceedingly polite and helpful.”

“A great little local Italian restaurant - you'll need to book as it's a squeeze and request to sit downstairs. ”
