  • This place is as cute and clean as is seems. The master bed was comfortable and as you look up at the cathedral ceiling, it feels spacious. We had everything we needed...Keurig coffee maker, ice maker, wine bottle opener, washing machine, etc. This house exceeded our expectations and we look forward to a return trip in the future.

The location is perfect, there are tons of things to do close by and the house itself has everything you need! Our second stay at one of Jeremy’s properties and we can’t wait to book our third :)

A private apartment in the hills of Nelson County is located in an addition to the owner's rustic home. The property is surrounded by forest and stream with a mountain view. The Blue Ridge Mountains, the James River, Wintergreen, Infinity Downs , and Charlottesville are all within easy driving distance. A great rural location, perfect for nature lovers and birdwatchers. The owners are a resource for information on the area and can provide recommendations on attractions and activities.
Woodland Hideaway is part of an owner-built home which has expanded over the years, the apartment was converted from an one occupied by the owners' book business. The complete kitchen and bathroom with shower with tile floors are all new. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed and a small sitting area. Both the bedroom and kitchen/ dining area are climate controlled individually. The apartment is accessible by a private entrance with your own parking area. A small deck with a soapstone bench and table are at the entrance to the apartment. The owners' office and library is adjacent to the apartment.
Surrounded by thousands of acres of forest, the house sits on a hillside with a view of Willoughby Mountain. A trail leads to to acres of bottomland on Dutch Creek. Deer, turkey, bear,, and beaver are resident in the area. Dozens of birds nest on the property: hawks, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, flycatchers,, vireos, warblers.
  • My time at Woodland Hideaway was absolutely wonderful! Allen & his wife were such gracious hosts. Lots of special touches - breakfast items, fruit, coffee & teas. A warm and welcoming cozy getaway! The hiking trails available on the property were great! A beautiful creek not too far from the house w/ a bench to sit on and meditate. The quiet and stillness were just what my soul needed as I escaped the noise of the city!! I would definitely recommend this getaway spot to others and can't wait to return!

    Kara2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Modern and clean with a very comfortable mattress. The bathroom is very spacious and clean. The kitchen is nicer than my own with a large side by side fridge, gas stove and new oven and microwave. Lots of natural light and well placed artwork made this place warm and inviting. Quiet and surrounded by trees with a nearby creek. Our 18 month old was never bored! Would visit again.

    Jennifer2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Such a treat! Woodland Hideaway is nestled into a lovely wood full of birdsong. The hosts are gracious, responsive and concerned about their guests comfort. The space is clean and comfortable. We had a full weekend so we did not get to enjoy the space as much as we would have liked; I would have loved one more day to sit out side with my morning cup of coffee (there was coffee provided and even multiple options for brewing!) and listen to the birds. I also loved hearing a distant train at night before bed-- it was so neat! We had no problem picking up groceries on our way and finding a place for an early dinner one day. We highly recommend and wish Allen and his wife all the best!

  • Allen and Barbara are wonderful hosts! When we arrived in the dark and got lost, Allen drove out to meet us and kindly directed us to their woodland paradise. This truly is a getaway from the high energy of the city! The safety was refreshing and for the first time in a while we felt safe to keep doors unlocked and windows curtains open. Lots of wildlife to watch: deer, possums, and squirrels. Their downstairs apartment was a bookstore before an airbnb and there was plenty of informational books to read on the wildlife and birds you may spot in the woods. If you have children, you will love the educational pictures provided! We are adults and we still enjoyed the adorable descriptions of these animal's lives and how they interact with people. Also, Allen and Barbara kindly laid out some brochures on interesting attractions near their home along with their guest manual. From waterfall hikes to local vineyards, they had plenty of outdoorsy fun stuff to do while in the area! Allen's home was built by him, so while there were some groans from the wood at night, the craftsmanship blew us away! Large spacious floorplan with a lovely skylight in the bedroom made us feel right at home and very comfortable. Along with a fully functional kitchen equipped with all you need to prepare your own meals and dishes/cookware to cut down on single use plastics. Recycling was also offered, cluing us in on how environmentally friendly our hosts are and how they live as one with their beautiful forest. You can tell by a quick glance around the apartment that Allen and Barbara have a deep appreciation for art and understanding of their environment and critters they share it with. Overall, kind and gracious hosts with plenty pleasant surprises. Truly a woodland gem and perfect vacation from the city. Would book again definitely! 🦌🐿❤🌲🍂

  • Beautiful cabin, tiny but enough room for a couple and a dog. Beautiful lot. Excellent hosts, addressed a minor issue very quickly. Would definitely go again

  • We loved our time at the cabin. It was secluded but close to everything. Our dog loved hiking around the property. We cooked a full dinner in the space with no problem. Trew and Tony thought of every little thing to make the place so homey and the coffee, sparkling water, and cookies upon arrival were quite the treat. Would recommend to anyone and we plan to stay there again next time we head to the mountains.

  • Perfect weekend getaway. Great walking trails through serene landscape so thoughtfully designed. The lodge was cozy and well equipped, there are tiny notes with helpful tips throughout. Wonderful and responsive hosts. We look forward to escaping to buck creek lodge again soon!

  • A fantastic stay with great views and very close to the places we visited. The house was very clean and quiet and anything we needed was provided for, on call handyman for incidents was well thought out. It was Reasonably priced and well maintained, solid 5 of 5!

    Kristen2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • This spot was amazing! The house was perfect for our group of four and our dogs. It had all of the amenities and was very clean. They offered up so many helpful tips, maps, and guides for local spots to visit. We loved taking our dogs on the walking paths and playing ball and frisbee with them on the huge property! It was secluded but not a long drive from local hot spots and had the most beautiful landscaping. We would definitely go back!

    Lauren2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, central location. Pristine and unique owner-designed cabin full of just the right amenities to make your stay as relaxing as possible. Our favorite spot was the comfortable porch with the great view of the mountains and property.

    Genevieve2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say. This place is simply magical. The house is warm, cozy and sparkling clean and the grounds and gardens are beautiful. You can spend all day on the porch watching the clouds go by but if you want to leave it's only 30 minutes to Charlottesville or to fantastic hiking. By far our favorite AirBnB!

    Karl2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot say enough good things about Anthony and Trew’s place. The view is stunning and the home was crystal clean. We had so much fun cooking lunch and reading on the back porch. It was comfortable and very clean - and communication was perfect as they accommodated our early arrival and many questions about the area. I’d love to come back in the winter and see the beautiful view with all of the snow covering the mountains.

Our peaceful studio has what you're looking for. The guesthouse has 2 beds, full bath, coffee station, microwave and fridge. The super cozy studio & outdoors has a humbly rustic feel. Hiking and river opportunities are 10 mins from our house. Our main house is adjacent to the guesthouse sleeps an additional 9 guests located on the same property. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/35741403?location=Schuyler%2C%20VA%2C%20United%20States&source_impression_id=p3_1564010166_CLenoW9yiNjbYP47
Our place is 100% family-friendly with attractive activities; such as kayaking and hiking, close by. The house has access to sunrise & set views, with a e.g. goats, kitties and dogs. Bring your ear plugs if farm animals bother you in the morning there are chickens just next store and the rooster enjoys talking to his hens in the mornings. This is a restful place, but nature is alive here! Our main house, The Abundant Seed Home Site; sleeps an additional 9 guests located on the same property. Our wifi is the only downfall to rural living. There is no wifi but cell services work on the premises.
There really isn't a neighborhood. We live in a rural part of the county so the amazing stars are your neighbors at night and the trees during the day. Use the local activities for your adventures and our house for restful quiet and connection!
  • Great location if you are looking to get away from it all and the host was very responsive to any questions. Although ours was a brief stay there is good hiking and wineries in the area. Would definitely visit again.

  • It's clear that a lot of thought and effort was put into the decor of this space. Super, super cute. It was nice to get away with no wifi.

  • Cute little place in a private setting.

    Stephanie2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • The guest house was amazing. Very creative setup. Makes you feel like you were in a luxury treehouse. Kim was an amazing host. I did my proposal here at a small lake they had on the property. She was very helpful with trying to make sure it was a success. Which it was thanks to her. Definitely worth every penny. You won't be disappointed. Also you're in the mountains so don't expect grocery stores and restaurants to be close. Will be returning.

  • Adorable space, beautiful property, lovely for a quiet getaway!

    Megan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Kim's place was so cute and amazing! It was so nice to be able to be away from it all out in the beautiful mountains. Not only was the indoor space great, the farm was so fun to walk around. I definitely recommend this place for anyone just trying to take a step back from the usual hustle and bustle of city life

    Rachel2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay at Kim's place. If you want to get away from a busy life this is the place to go! I could have walked around your property for days! I loved the guest house. The decorations and the loft bed made the visit very unique! The sunrise and sunset were amazing to view!

    Rebekah2020-02-03T00:00:00Z

  • A breathtaking escape. The vineyard is literally on the same property. Jim and Janet were kindness itself. And they were very helpful in providing suggestions on where to go. The dog and cat were both incredibly kind as well.

    Chris2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jim responded promptly to all my questions & was not only very personal but highly knowledgeable about the area. Very well kept & being beside the vineyards was perfect. Our stay at the cottage was everything we expected and more!!!

  • Beautifully renovated historical building with easy access to wineries, Monticello and Charlottesville. Delicious and hearty breakfasts top off a great place to stay.

    Wendy2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The summer kitchen was very clean and comfortable for our weekend visit. We loved the cozy feel and the decor. The cottage looks exactly like the pictures. We did not get much use out of the deck off the bedroom because it was a little chilly. Jim is a great host, very welcoming and open to offer suggestions of things to do and history of the area. Breakfast in the main Inn was also a great surprise (freshest berries I’ve ever had). I’m already looking forward to staying at this property again.

  • The host was very responsive and helpful, both before and during our stay. The home was VERY clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable (and I tend to be a bit picky with beds and bedding)! Great location if you're going to Wintergreen and/or hitting up the wineries and breweries!! We will definitely be back and would recommend this home to others!!!

  • Stephanie's place is very warm and welcoming. If you are looking for peaceful and serene, this is the place to stay. The communication was excellent and I loved the small touches she offered. A great selection of coffee and snacks! I also loved the private patio. I would definitely return if in the area again.

    Ella2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The HomePlace was so much more than we expected. It was a beautiful mountain home with close proximity to scenic areas, restaurants, and several breweries and vineyards as well as wintergreen resort where we went snowboarding! There was plenty of space and sweet extra touches like snacks and tips on the area and things to do. The fireplace was on of our favorite amenities. When I was first looking at the pictures online it looked like it could be an inn with multiple guests, but we were pleasantly surprised to find out we had the whole space to ourselves and we could barely hear the host upstairs at all. It was perfect for my husband and I to enjoy the beautiful area. Stephanie was an amazing host, we would definitely recommend this place and we would stay there again if we come back!

    McKenzie2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Apartment is adorable and was just what we needed for my college graduation/ anniversary getaway. Out in the middle of nowhere but easy to get to. I REALLY loved the birds outside the sliding doors. The TV was there but the birds were better. The bed is huge and comfy. Amenities were much nicer than any condo up on the mountain.

    Carrie2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our days in Stephanie’s place. It was very cozy and with a lot of details. totally recommend!

    Jose2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie’s place is incredible! It’s perfectly cute and cozy, a wonderful hideout from the cold. The location is everything you could want-secluded enough that you get the beautiful mountain views but only a short drive from town. The thoughtful touches such as snacks, light breakfast items, and a printout of events in the area were much appreciated. We will certainly visit again!

    Lottie2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodations were spacious, comfortable, clean and welcoming. Just enough breakfast supplies and snacks. Very convenient location. You should stay there!

  • We had a great stay! Stu was a great host. The space was nice and cozy and the views were wonderful. We went primarily for skiing, so it was perfect that Stu’s place was an easy 20 minute drive from the slopes. We also checked out a local brewing company (Wild wolf brewing company)for dinner and drinks after a long day, and it was delicious. Stu had little touches throughout that made our stay enjoyable, especially the heated blanket on the bed—it was perfect after a long, cold day of skiing. I highly recommend this place, and we will definitely be back!

Hosting guests since 1987 in unique, 10-bedroom Inn (once a barn!) Homemade breads, muffins, fruit cobbler, coffee & juice for breakfast. Near Wintergreen ski & golf, Blue Ridge mountains, dining, brewpubs, wineries, nature, great cycling & hiking!
Bedrooms listed (10 in all) are in what we call The Inn---a renovated horse barn, still sporting stall doors! Each room has one double bed, desk, wardrobe, side table and big window. The Inn has two kitchenettes, two common areas, a wrap-around deck, a patio, and several shared Men's and Ladies bathrooms (6 toilets, 4 showers). The Inn is separate from our home, which is the office where guests check in. We live on 34 acres, with views of meadows and the Blue Ridge Mountains, in beautiful Nelson County Virginia.
Nelson County Virginia has been our playground for nearly three decades---and we feel almost spoiled with the beautiful nature, mountains, and friendly community. With the recent bubbling-up of three prize-winning brew pubs, two cideries, several wineries, two distilleries, and numerous restaurants---all within a 20 minute drive---our guests have so many choices.
  • Beautiful space. Comfortable and clean. The art and worldly collectables added a unique touch. Will be back!

  • Great response time and close to Wintergreen/Devils Backbone which was perfect for my work trip!

    Jenny2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We’ve stayed here many times in the past (before AIRBNB became a thing) and this B&B continues to be an affordable & great place to stay & is close to Wintergreen Ski Resort. We love Kathy & Martin - they’ve always been great hosts & make delicious breads. Always very attentive, quick responses & flexible. They provided clear instructions for checking-in before 10pm & after so very flexible when we said we might arrive late. We’ve stayed in the cottage, inn and farmhouse over the years, but this last stay was at the inn again where you have shared bathrooms and common rooms. In this trip we lucked out in having practically the whole place to ourselves as there was only 1 other guest besides me & my son. Even so, we’ve stayed when it’s had many more guests & always felt comfortable despite shared bathrooms. The ladies and men’s bathrooms each have 2 of toilets, sinks & showers, with 1 shower & toilet area with a privacy curtain. Even the 2nd toilet has a privacy curtain and though the 2nd shower doesn’t have a private area to dress in, it is large enough to hang your robe at one end to dress in before getting out. And then there are two additional unisex bathrooms with toilet & sink with total privacy. Though a little dated, the decor is still stylish & they have wifi. The bedrooms are comfortable & clean & lockable (key): Each have a double-bed, night stand, wardrobe, desk, ceiling fan, heater, plenty of outlets & lights, place to hang ur towels & hooks for coats. Kitchen has standard size fridge. Coffee was great & there were various teas to choose from as well. There are thoughtful notes that provide tips & instructions. The inn would be awesome for a large gathering of friends or family. If staying at the inn then you need to eat out for lunch & dinner as there is no microwave, stove or oven. For breakfast, they provide delicious muffins & breads like whole wheat, walnut & carrot with butter, cream cheese, preserves, etc. We certainly will return.

"Into the forest I go... to lose my mind and find my soul." -John Muir Incredible cabin nestled in the center of 70 very private acres. Relax and unwind under bright stars and listen to the night sounds of frogs, crickets, owls, and coyotes. Close proximity to James River and tubing, UVA, and many wineries. You will see millions of stars and gain the serenity that can only come from unplugging from the world for a few days. Only 20 minutes away from all that Charlottesville has to offer!
Cabin is conveniently located in the heart of the Virginia wine, beer and cider trail. While many popular attractions await you, most guests decide that returning to the cabin is the highlight of each day. You begin to feel it from the moment you turn down into the driveway and meander by the grazing sheep entering the valley where a spring-fed creek gently gurgles as you pass through the canopy of trees shot through with shafts of sunlight. Subconsciously at first, you inhale a little deeper and then exhale just a little slower than usual. The bustle of life begins to fade as nature envelopes you. Crossing over the creek and heading upwards to Serenity Hill, you are greeted by big sky and open fields. As the driveway makes its final bend, H’Owl at the Moon Cabin unfolds. The corners of your mouth tip upward. Your shoulders rise an inch. Do they seem lighter already? Can’t be…. But then you get out of the car and step into the magic of Serenity Hill and the warm, inviting cabin. You’re on vacation and yet, somehow, you’ve come home. You were meant to be here. Before you know it, you are under her spell. It’s the place to inspire dreams and make memories; the place to appreciate family and love; the place to restore your balance as a part OF nature, not apart FROM nature. H’Owl at the Moon is an optimal place to clear the mind, restore the soul, and inspire the heart. Find your strength and your center again. Regroup and recharge. Everywhere you look, regardless of the season, you have company in the form of natural beauty – from the active peep frog colony in Spring to the hummingbirds and butterflies of Summer, from the newly arrived fawns signaling Spring through the flowering fields and firefly soaked evenings of Summer, from the night sounds of owls and coyotes in Fall to the ground nesting birds of Winter, H’Owl at the Moon beckons -- its cabin offering a central respite from which to allow your mind to quiet and your soul to open. The cabin at H’Owl at the Moon is an authentic log home on nearly 70 acres in beautiful Albemarle County, Virginia. A year-round creek borders the entire eastern side of the property with many small pools and waterfalls. Mowed footpaths cross the fields and provide easy access to walking trails in the forest and a world of exploration.
See the Guidebook. Tour UVA, enjoy local wineries, breweries, and cideries. Only 6 miles to Scottsville and the James River.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at H'Owl, especially the remoteness of it. If you want to get off the grid and soak up some true peace and quiet in an idyllic setting, this is it! There are no other homes within sight of the cabin, and it's situated on a beautiful piece of land that is hikable. The easy walk to the waterfall was a lot of fun, though there are more challenging trails around the property that we would have tackled if we'd had more time. The cabin itself is large, lovely, well appointed, and so cozy, particularly with a crackling fire going in the wood stove. It was handy to have a washer and dryer on the premises, as well as wi-fi (even though we tried not to use it...much). It's also located in a convenient spot for hitting up wineries and/or cideries and only about 35 min. from downtown Charlottesville. We did all of the above! Bill was an excellent host and extremely kind/ responsive. We also had great fun reading his humorously written guidebook. :) H'Owl was a great experience and we were sad to leave. Highly recommend, especially for those seeking a dog-friendly space!

  • Bill’s cabin is quickly becoming one of our very favorite places! He is great to communicate with and has always been so accommodating. We will be back again very soon!

    Tricia2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Bill's cabin is in an expansive (over 60 acres) setting of great natural beauty, with easily accessed trails going out into exciting and interesting areas. The cabin is unique in design and furnishings...quite comfortable and thoughtfully put together. Our stay there was like the best summer camp ever, without the busyness and hubbub. And oh, the vineyards and wineries! Best vacation trip we've had in ages.

  • This little cabin is perfect for a relaxing getaway. It’s super private and the views are breathtaking. We loved every minute we were there. Bill was a fantastic host and the cottage was so warm and welcoming. We’re already planning our next trip!

  • Outstanding property to unplug and unwind. Comfortable and relaxing cabin in proximity to local attractions, perfect for a getaway.

  • This is a beautiful cabin nestled in the woods. It is so peaceful and relaxing. Our family loved the quiet and tranquil atmosphere. We could not have ask for a better extended weekend. Thank you Bill for being great and thank you Carol for all the information and for being there to greet us.

    Charlotte2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here with another couple (and our two babies). This beautifully cozy cabin feels like home-away-from-home. We pushed the twin beds together to create 2 MBR's. Very spacious and cool setup with plenty of lounging areas to rest and enjoy rainy days together or privately. There's not a bad view in the house. William is an excellent host; very informative and great humor. Make sure you read AND save his info prior to getting close as cell service is hit or miss when we got 20 minutes out. Check-in was easy with the lockbox and the info he sent in advance. Read the check-in book when you arrive for other very helpful info (and laughs) as you settle in. It rained 2 out of 4 days, but we enjoyed the chance to explore and rest. Thankfully we brought dry firewood for the fire pit and enjoyed a fire all afternoon. It was easy exploring the property and we LOVED that there was no need for bug spray (just a flyswatter!). We planned a stellar menu (burritos & taco salads, bratwurst and s'mores over the fire, grilled steak and potatoes, soup and grilled cheese for lunches...). The stocked kitchen made it so easy to do all of that without hauling extra. We ventured out one afternoon to visit Blue Mountain Brewery and view the skyline which was beautiful. All in all, excellent stay. We were all very pleased and relaxed during our time. Highly recommended :)

    Rachel2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at H’owl at the Moon. It’s a great space to get away from the city but still be close enough to several wineries and breweries. Bill was very accommodating and provided everything we could have needed for a great stay. We’ll definitely be back! We would definitely recommend renting this cabin for your next trip!

  • This was my first time booking an airbnb, but not my friends that came with me, and they said I did a great job, so obviously it must be true! Kelly’s place was lovely and so perfectly located close to everything. The views were also gorgeous! The room was perfectly sized for us (3 adult females) and we even really liked the linens! The cherry on top was the delicious breakfast that was prepared for us! Anyone that stays here, is in for a real treat (both metaphorically and literally!) 💖

    Emily2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Kelly's! We all slept very well, the bed was super comfy, we loved looking at the mountain views, and were beyond impressed with the accommodations and breakfast spread. Their home was welcoming, easy to get to, everything was very clean, they shared some local tips with us, and breakfast was absolutely delicious every morning!! We cannot wait to stay again next winter!

    Gracie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great people. Super peaceful. Super clean. Great value.

    Shawn2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location. Beautiful home, clean and room was spacious. Plenty of room for a family of four. Kelly is an amazing host! Certainly exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was outstanding! Andy Kelly even cooked us breakfast early so we could hit the slopes early in the morning. We will certainly be back again!

    Erica2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • I will go back again and again when given the chance! Kelly is warm and inviting. The atmosphere is cozy and clean. Truly an amazing host with a wonderful husband to match! We had breakfast made for us with pleasant conversations. Local breweries are around the corner and wintergreen 15 minutes away! Do not pass up the opportunity to stay here!

    Melyssa2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place, great location , and fantastic hosts! We will be back.

    Shannon2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Upon arriving at the Wintergreen Ranch you have the feeling that you are at home. The secluded property is surrounded by beautiful landscapes and a quiet ambiance. Although it seems you are off the beaten path you’re just minutes from over a dozen vineyards and breweries and just 30 min drive to the wintergreen ski resort or downtown Charlottesville. Inside the home it is relaxing and comfortable. The rooms are meticulously clean and inviting. Mark and Kelly are amazing individuals and articulate that this is more of a passion than a business. Their love of cooking and baking is apparent from the moment you were arrive. Delicious pastries were available when we arrived and the most amazing 5 star breakfast was prepared each morning. Mark and Kelly really live up to the signs that are posted in the bedrooms that you say you come as strangers and leave as friends. If you’re planning to visit the wintergreen ski resort, vineyards or just a peaceful getaway we highly recommend staying at this beautiful Nellysford home.

    Monique2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful hosts! The room was much bigger than expected and there was plenty of room for three people. By far the best part was the homemade breakfast in the morning. Best pancakes I’ve ever had!

The only thing we suggest is if you like noise to sleep bring a fan! Otherwise they had everything anyone could need.

Coronavirus update: We have moved to the strictest recommended cleaning standards recommended by CDC and have a 2 night prep time before and after every reservation to give proper disinfecting time There are plenty of open activities: hiking, golf, take-away wine/beer... House is perfect for families to stay-at-home while being away: 4 acres, play in the creek, feed the cows, grill out, have a picnic, play board games, read a book, listen to music, etc.
New home on 4 acres at the end of a private road. Expansive, 270 degree mountain views. Your neighbors behind you are only the cows :) Walk in through the expansive front porch with rocking chairs into the main living area all on main level. Walk into a foyer and wrap around to the right into a large family room with sectional sofa. High speed internet (Wifi) throughout the home. Walk out to a back deck through double sliding doors to let in the cool mountain breeze and enjoy outdoor eating and a high-quality Weber gas grill. After grilling come back into the brand new kitchen with farmhouse sink, stainless steel appliances, and floor to ceiling cabinets. Not a single detail has gone unnoticed: pots, pans, utensils, plates, cutting boards, etc. For breakfast put the kids at the bar stools and enjoy coffee in the breakfast nook looking out at the mountains. Or, adjacent to the kitchen, you can enjoy indoor dining for 8 on a farmhouse table (5 chairs, one long bench). Head upstairs to all three bedrooms: * The master has a king bed and huge master bath with clean white tiles * Second bedroom is a queen with a huge walk-in closet * The kids can share the third bedroom with two white bunk beds * Any spillover guests (teens, baby, etc) can use the available air mattress and pack-and-play in one of the bedrooms or family room All rooms have new, clean linens, pillows, and comforters. New furniture throughout the house.
You are staying on 4 acres of an old farm. Only 5 houses on the private road and you are at the end of the cul de sac. From the back deck there is not a house in site. And you TRULY are in the middle of everything in Afton. We recently bought the home for our family of five because we love the area. There are so many things for families to do together, and adults to do on their own. We love the peach orchards, berry farms, hiking, leaf viewing, Wintergreen skiing, and wide open spaces for kids to play free at nearby Bold Rock Cider. When we go with just adults, we love the wineries... it's the Napa of the East Coast :) Spring is a great time to visit. Events to get excited about are: * Live music at Devils Backbone Brewery * Family-friendly hikes up to Humpback Rock (off the Blue Ridge Parkway) * Finding rocks and minerals at the Virginia Rock Shop (at the Rockfish Valley Community Center) Don't hesitate to ask if you have other questions on family-friendly activities in the area!
  • Expectacular house, vey relaxing, the views from the house are amazing. The proixmity to wintergreen resort was great. We all had so much fun and enjoyed our stay.

  • I can’t find the words to express how impressed I was with everything - communication, hospitality, location, cleanliness... this place has it all! Krystal and her husband have an absolutely beautiful property and home, and they really made the home feel so welcoming. I was really appreciative of the extra little amenities like the shampoo/conditioner and coffee available. It really is the little things that can make a trip so special! After a fun day of skiing and checking out the brewery spots (which were sooo close to the house), we loved returning to the house with such beautiful views right out the window. Incredible! Thank you again for the best weekend - We hope to be back soon!

    Zach2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! I’m not sure I can find words to do this place justice. If possible, it’s more lovely than the photos show. We visited over the Thanksgiving holiday and enjoyed our stay. The views can’t be beat, the house was spacious and lovely, and there were a ton of friendly touches like toys for the kids and coffee for the grown ups. The location is great — close to wineries, breweries, and local highways yet far enough from the beaten path that we were able to enjoy the peace and quiet. Krystal was quick to reply to any questions we asked and was an incredibly gracious host. We hope to return next time we are in the area!

  • This place is amazing!!! The views are breathtaking, and the home is absolutely beautiful! We had the most amazing time and want to thank our hosts for our wonderful accommodations. The welcome binder is filled with tips on places to explore. The location is perfect, and the home is only a short drive to everything on 151. I personally recommend the humpback rock hike. A quiet and so cozy rustic farm feel tucked away amongst an oak forest. There are 4+ beds, 3 full baths, and a stocked kitchen. The Rockfish River is perfect for a guided tour, splashing around or good ole river sittin' as a bonus! If an additional space is needed look for our guesthouse located on the property. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/16657642?location=Schuyler%2C%20VA%2C%20United%20States&source_impression_id=p3_1564009851_HlTQ01A1fX6pGruk
Our place is 100% family-friendly with attractive activities; such as kayaking and hiking, close by. The house has access to sunrise & set views, goats, kitties and dogs. This is a restful place, and nature is alive here!
  • The Abundant Seed House was the perfect setting for a weekend away from the city with some friends. The pictures don't do this place justice so be prepared for a warm and cozy stay in the woods. The amenities were outstanding, Kim really did a great job providing all the basics and more. The beds were comfy, decor was beautiful, the farm animals were perfect neighbors and Bilbo the cat was the best surprise we didn't know we needed. Be prepared that cell service is spotty, so download check-in instructions prior (which was clearly noted) but the lack of wifi and cell service was fine and allowed for more quality time without distractions. Local wineries and breweries aren't to far from the house but plan accordingly because getting there involves lots of windy back roads - stay safe. My only advice before booking with Kim would be to plan for a longer stay because you won't want to leave the beauty that is the abundant seed house!

    Melanie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Absolute amazing place. It was much better than advertised I only wish we had more time to explore even more!

    Abdullah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Kims place was amazing. I wanted to take the family to the mountains for the weekend. We were so lucky to find this place. Very country “like home” feel. Close to places to fish, hike (we went to Crabtree falls) and just “be”. The kids had a ball playing with the Goats and the dog that were there on the farm. We got to go exploring in the woods.(the treehouse was a hit with the kids). Just a relaxing place to go and take a load off. And thank you to Kim for the hospitality. Your place is awesome and we WILL be back.

  • We loved Abundant Seed! Very cozy! Tons of blankets, a wood stove (bring your own wood), a water boiler, and lots of spices and cooking equipment! We went in January for a friend’s birthday, and we had such a great time. Open areas so you can all be together whether you are cooking, hanging in the dining room, or in the living room. Beds were comfy and there were ample towels and supplies. Thanks Kim!

  • The house is beautiful and the location is fantastic. The views are great, the neighborhood is quiet, and there are good places to go if you decide you want to leave the house, which was difficult for us because it was so wonderful to stay in! Kelly was a great host and quick to respond when I reached out to him. I highly recommend staying at Five Peaks!

  • This house is amazing! Beautiful views and wonderful layout! All the amenities we needed for a long weekend! Highly recommend!

    Kimberly2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Don’t pack any extras! This place literally has everything you could need to enjoy a home away from home. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans and any utensil you could possibly need. There were so many extra touches, like a heated bathroom floor, that made our stay extra special. There are plenty of board games and puzzles. The massive movie library is alphabetized and the surround sound makes the movies extra special! The 2 car garage made it easy to let all of our snowboarding equipment air dry in between runs. Also has a really nice downstairs apartment with a fire place!

  • Beautiful house, excellent location! Was perfect for our fall girl trip!

    Jessica2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! Well stocked kitchen , cozy beds , and being pet friendly made this home wonderful for our weekend stay!

    Cynthia2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Guests will enjoy the location in the mountains. Beautiful surrounding and convenience to local activities. We would love to return to this area.

    Dan2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great weekend! We came to the area to spend some time with some dogs that are staying at a local board and shape. The location couldn’t have been better and the house was amazing.

    Mary2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and immaculate home, beautiful views from the large living room, very private and wooded, with a view of the mountains beyond. A homey but upscale feel with the furnishings. Great amenities, we enjoyed the gazebo the first night, and the wonderful hot tub throughout our stay. It has a great kitchen for those who like to cook, well appointed with pretty much everything you’d need. (Next time I come I will bring my own cast iron skillet though, there isn’t one and for me that’s a kitchen essential) One really nice surprise upon arrival is that the home itself is situated in the more mountainous area of Stoney creek, which I was really hoping for, so it doesn’t have a suburban subdivision feel to it. Overall, a gorgeous home and we would definitely return.

  • Everything was great! Perfect for the nearby Spartan races.

    Brittany2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay and absolutely recommend it and hope to come back. Full kitchen and full bath worked great for us. Caught several bass in the pond. Our dog loved meeting the family dogs as much as we did. Loved sitting on the deck listening to nature and seeing the stars with a cold Bold Rock in hand. So many positives. There is a train crossing nearby but with ear plugs I didn’t hear the train going by at night. Plan to stay here when we visit Edible Landscaping and Bold Rock brewery and take a side trip to Charlottesville again for the City Market on Saturdays. This was a fantastic trip! Thank you Gavin and Lisa and doggies!

    Vikki2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very gracious hosts! Gavin and Lisa were wonderful and they have the friendliest fur babies! Quiet and comfortable accommodations in the gorgeous mountain countryside of Northern Virginia.

  • My boyfriend and I had a great experience at Gavin and Lisa's place. Gavin was very responsive to our needs and super friendly! The place was also very cleanly and cozy. Nice secluded location for a little getaway. Definitely plan on returning in the future :)

    Emiley2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully kept bed and bath with lovely large sunroom and kitchen. If you're lucky enough to be there on a clear night, the stars are amazing!

    Jessica2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Gavin and Lisa’s place was nestled at the end of a gravel road in a quiet area. It is a perfect location for tranquility. The space was clean and they were very hospitable. I plan to return to do some hiking with the family.

    Christina2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We booked this trip for my boyfriend's birthday weekend. We wanted a good location, great scenery, and a clean space to come back to after exploring the mountains all day. Gavin's place was everything we could have asked for. The views on the drive up were just beautiful, as well as their property. The price was more than fair and their dogs are just adorable. We are planning to come back in the Fall or Winter to explore the mountains further.

    Christina2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great and clean place situated among the woods! Loved the space and hope to be back soon.

Fantastic views, magical location - it's what guests have been saying and I feel that way too. It's a spacious, modern, two level house (just 10 years old) with open floor plans, lots of windows and glass doors. 2 BR, 2 BA, full kitchen, two living rooms, dining room, laundry room, spectacular views from both the main floor and upstairs loft (the second living room). 30 minutes to Charlottesville, 20 minutes to Wintergreen. Many historic landmarks nearby.
The house sits on the ridge on Rainbow Ridge Road, with amazing views of the Blue Ridge Mountains from the front and side of the house. The backyard is about 500 feet wooded downhill, with a creek at the bottom. The house is a three-story comfortable family home built in 2008 on three acres of land. On the main floor you will find a well equipped eat-in kitchen, a dining, a living and a bedroom; also a full bath and a laundry room. All of the main floor is lovely bamboo floor. You can enjoy the amazing views while enjoying your meal in the dining room or hanging out in the living room. The top floor has the second bedroom, another full bath and a spacious loft, with TV (with basic dish channels), DVD player and children toys. A futon sofa in the loft opens up to a queens size mattress. Views are most spectacular from the loft. The basement apartment (the third floor and is not used by guests) has separate access, separate parking, and separate walkway and is where I might stay (if I am not away) when guests occupy the upper two floors.
You will be within half an hour from many beautiful "back to nature" opportunities, historic places, and various entertainment options. Access to the Appalachian trail is only 20 minutes from the house, as is the Blue Ridge Parkway offering many access points to scenic lookouts and hiking trails. Biking on the Blue Ridge Parkway is also a great experience. In the living room table you can find a great Blue Ridge Parkway hiking book which you can use to get ready for next day's hike. Wintergreen, a nearby mountain resort, with its spectacular golf course and ski resort, is also just 20 minutes from the house. I have been skiing at Wintergreen ever since I built the house in 2008, getting there is a lovely, enjoyable drive. Charlottesville and the University of Virginia are 30 minutes away (I work there and my travel time is 28 minutes) as is Thomas Jefferson's Monticello. The region offers a great variety of winery, brewery and distillery choices. You can find a grocery store, basic services, and a few small restaurants about four miles away in Nellysford. On Saturday mornings from May - October there is a farmers' market, with live country music, where you can buy fresh local produce, baked goods, various food items and local art. The house is secluded, but not totally isolated. It is is part of a 500 acre mountain community with about 50 houses nestled in the woods on hill sides, most of them far away from Rainbow Ridge Road (so you can hardly see any houses). Walking along the gravel roads, enjoying the spectacular views you might occasionally see a friendly walker saying hi as we all do there.
  • Was a great place to stay with a busy body toddler! Ilona had MANY toys available to keep him busy!

    Brittney2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy and quiet mountain getaway! Close enough for all the sightseeing that Nellysford has to offer; but far enough away from all the chaos.

    Mark2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Ilona's house was lovely in a nice secluded setting. She was very prompt in responding to questions.

    Mary2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • House is very well-equipped and quite comfortable. It has good TV service and good wifi connection. The views are nice and we love the quiet. It is a drive on winding mountain roads to get anywhere from this remote location. We enjoyed the deer that came by every evening to sample fallen fruit from the pear tree. We looked forward to them each day.

    Patricia2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful communication, great location and views - we really could not ask for more from an AirB&B. Comfy mattresses, too!

    Greg2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This house is in a perfect location for visiting various tourist locations including those in Charlottesville, Staunton, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the Walton's museum! And you'll love the nightly visitations from the deer!

    Kimberly2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Ilona’s home is located in a very scenic area. It is a short drive from numerous wineries and breweries and all that Nellysford and Wintergreen have to offer. Ilona is accessible and responsive to guests’ needs.

    Carol2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Ilona’s house is beautiful, and the view from the upstairs sitting room is breathtaking! The house is clean and well-organized, the kitchen is in great working order, the bathrooms are stocked with soap and shampoos, and the furniture is very comfortable. We had a wonderful stay, and are very grateful to Ilona for all of her help when we first arrived, she is a fantastic host!

    Daniel2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The inn was a nice quiet getaway- perfect to access Wintergreen resort for skiing and close to local breweries. We were not sure exactly what to expect with the set-up, but were pleasantly surprised by the self-service boutique hotel feel. Todd was gracious to let us use the full kitchen and there was a cozy common area to relax, unlike a traditional hotel. Next time I’d bring a few more items for cooking to take advantage of the full set-up, but the room was huge and would be a great place to bring a group of couples or families.

    Beth2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Rockfish Valley Inn. The room interior, porch, and lobby areas were very comfortable, and the Inn is very close to some great hiking in Wintergreen and Shenandoah, and some beautiful wineries and breweries! Todd was very friendly and welcomed us with cold bottled water in the fridge and a very flexible arrival and checkout.

  • The house was lovely/very clean and large enough to accommodate a party of 6. There was even a basement appt we could have rented for even more space but we didn’t need it. The view from the deck was soo nice!! Beds were comfy and all amenities in operation. Roku for the tv worked great along with the WiFi. Location within 20mins or so to Nelson 151 wineries and breweries but their were several even closer. Communication to the owner was quick. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and would def stay again!

The property is located at the end of a paved road, two miles off the highway. Because traffic is so sparse, we often walk this road. One can walk, run or bike the entire two miles along Buck Creek, sometimes in sun, sometimes in shade. There are about ten friendly homeowners along this road.
  • I cannot compliment Anthony, Trew and Buck Creek Lodge enough! I rented the entire lodge for my group of 7 as a surprise celebration for my father’s 60th and all of us felt completely at home. The space is set up with so much thought and plenty of space! The pictures are 100% accurate and they have everything you may need, from kitchen items to extra toiletries and more! The property is gorgeous and so peaceful. We even visited a few distilleries/breweries that were all within 25 min from the lodge!! Food lion is just 15 min up the road. I will absolutely be staying at one of their listings in the future! Thanks again!!

  • This home is warm, inviting and relaxing with beautiful views so that anyone looking for a private place to get away to or enjoy with family and friends will feel they have found "Paradise" at Buck Creek.

  • We had a great time at Buck Creek Paradise! The proximity to the 151 trail was to be expected and worked perfectly for us. The house was clean and cozy. We loved it.

  • Buck Creek Lodge is a fantastic spot if you want to unplug and enjoy some quiet. This is one of the cleanest AirBnbs I have ever stayed at. The kitchen is well appointed, so if you want to cook, you won't need to bring anything other than the food. The property has a wonderful trail through woods and a meadow along a stream. The view from the porch is peaceful and picturesque. Lots of birds to watch so bring your binoculars.

    Geoff2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is the cabin in the woods you’ve been looking for! It will blow you away how well thought out and detail oriented this place is. Great location and great place. Also great property for hiking !

    Lindsey2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful, comfortable home is in a spectacular setting. It's a short drive to dozens of local attractions like Monticello, wineries, hikes, but it's also a place where you could be content to stay put and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the house. Anthony and Trew were very communicative hosts, and check-in went without a hitch. We'll definitely be back!

    Bill2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Buck Creek Lodge. We had both the downstairs and upstairs spaces to ourselves and it was the perfect size for our group. The location is amazingly secluded, with great forest views and a wonderfully landscaped property. The hosts were very responsive and the house was pretty clean with lots of little amenities we weren't expecting. The hosts did stay on the property, so you're not completely on your own. I don't suggest reserving only the upstairs or downstairs since voices carry and footsteps can be heard easily, you will not feel like you're alone. But reserving the whole house worked perfectly for us. I wish we had more time to spend at the house. Hopefully we can come back in the future!

    Emma2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very quaint spot not too far away from something for everyone. Breweries, wineries, cute shops and a plethora of hikes, you’re right in the middle. The property is rustic and beautiful offering enough amenities to make you feel at home but also unplugged.

  • A perfect place for a much-needed getaway

  • Super clean! Everything you could need except food. The only issue was the heater outside was out of propane. It lasted 20 mins on the first night. I told The host right away and they did not seem willing to come out and replace it. Not a huge issue because there is a fire pit but we had to buy our own wood for it. Other than that it was a wonderful stay!

  • Claire provided great tips for local hikes and was very responsive with communication during our stay. Great location & amenities. Highly recommend!

  • Fantastic place to stay with family- clean, stocked kitchen, & plenty of rooms & beds to spread out! Only 20 minutes to Wintergreen for skiing, & only 30 minutes from Charlottesville if you want to hop between the two. Beautiful Mountain View’s right outside the window. Corbin & Claire were super responsive, & great hosts. Our family hopes to stay here again in the future!

  • Easy. Clean. Great location. Perfect!!

    Jillian2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. We rented the whole compound and it was awesome. Our family had a blast staying here and the renovation from the old flying fox tasting room was well done.

  • Beautiful house close to many activities. Plenty of room outside and awesome scenery!

    Fernando2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful home that was sparkling clean and comfy! The owners were very responsive throughout our planning process. If I am ever out in this area again, I would love to stay in this home again!

Escape from the city and relax in our beautiful "tiny house" cabin tucked in the woods. Enjoy the beautiful Virginia scenery and hike through our 21 acres down to a bubbling creek, or discover the wines and brews of hwy 151 in Nelson County.
Welcome to Haycorn Hollow! Our cabin has a screened front porch for relaxing and taking in the lovely views of the mountains and trees. The master bedroom has a super comfortable queen size memory foam mattress. There is also a bunk room with 2 twin beds which is great for kids (but maybe a bit cramped for adults). The kitchen is outfitted with all the cookware and appliances you will need to make yourself at home. The living room has huge windows on 3 sides which surround you with nature, sunlight and beauty. The room is furnished with antique furniture, a new couch, 40" TV, Bluray player, and bluetooth enabled speaker system. We have an electric fireplace that makes the room warm and cozy. The space is small and efficient with a mini-split A/C and heater. There is a dishwasher, and washing machine that also doubles as a dryer and plenty of drawers and cabinets for all your clothes, food and belongings.
Nellysford is just a short drive away from the famous Virginia wineries, breweries and distilleries on hwy 151. It is 30 min from Wintergreen Resort, 40 minutes drive from Charlottesville, and 3 hours from Washington DC. There are also many charming antique stores and country shops to discover nearby. Hilltop winery and our favorite antique shop, Tuckahoe Antiques is within walking distance.
  • The cabin has wonderful views. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, playing chess, and hiking the trails. The beds are very comfortable. Slippers were by the door for our comfort. The screened porch had a nice breeze. We would definitely love staying there again.

    Laura2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Had such a cozy, peaceful weekend at Jaemey’s place. It was closer to breweries than I expected and a quick drive to some of the great trails in the area. The views of the mountains were great. Jaemey and Mollie were very responsive and even gave some great recommendations for places to eat/drink on the area.

    Lyndsay2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • They have a beautiful location, it’s serene, and private. Perfect getaway.

    Jessica2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome escape from everyday life. We stayed here during the LOCKN' music festival and it far exceeded our expectations. Cold air conditioning, great light and windows to appreciate the location, and unlimited hot water. We enjoyed the privacy and the uniqueness of the home.

    Andrew2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with excellent access to 151 trail

    Thomas2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the isolated location, but it's just 15 min from brew pubs.

    Nancy2019-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is a perfect place to getaway for two. My boyfriend and I were impressed as soon as we pulled in. The decor and coziness make it so inviting. The sun room is a great place for morning coffee or evening drinks. The kitchen is up to date and has anything you could need, including the best coffee maker.. The bed was firm and comfy and watching the sun from the bedroom window was a plus. This isn't the kind of place you want to lounge around in all day. All morning or all night, sure, but this area is begging to be explored! Hiking the trails on their property are a MUST. Just follow the signs. So much fun, so much peace and quiet. Amazing views.

    Rachel2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing! One of the best vacation houses I have ever stayed at. The location was perfect; gorgeous landscape and a sparkling clean and quaint house. Made use of the trails around the area, the fire-pit, and the porch to view wildlife and the mountain views. Ran into a problem and the hosts solved it instantly! We have plans to return and will recommend this place to friends and family.

    Beautiful panoramic view of Nelson County. Va.; half way between Charlottesville and Lynchburg. 3 queen beds. fully furnished / stocked kitchen. Overlooks orchards, wineries and lots of fun things to do, or just kickback and relax! free Wi-fi;
Certainly the view is most appealing and glorious! The peace and quiet, the space, the sky, trees, birds... even the cows from time to time, make it a very relaxing and joyful experience. Just a mile from Fortunes Cove Conservancy hiking trails.
  • William is a wonderful and communicative host. The home has a lovely view from the living area and porch and is close to wineries and a brewery.

    Marina2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • William’s home is like something out of a fantasy. I’m not sure where to even begin. William himself is one of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. He also has a very friendly chocolate lab named Max. He makes a point to make sure everything is perfect for your stay in his home by checking in a few times before arriving. We were amazed by the beauty of his home and he told us all about how it was built and the features that make it so unique. He’s set the standard incredibly high for anywhere we could stay in the future. I can’t thank him enough and cannot wait to go back and visit.

    Bethany2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay at a warm and lovely home.

    Leslie2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at William's beautiful home. We would love to come back again in the future. The driveway is very steep, maybe a challenge for some vehicles in the winter...I sure hope my car can make it b/c my kids would love sledding down the big hill on his property. We had so much fun at Williams home, that we only ventured out once to the nearby brewery. William was exceptionally responsive to our calls and inquires.

    Heidi2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home, very private! Great sunrises and sunsets, place was out of a magazine. William had great brewery recommendations and was there to greet us. Great stay and would choose this rental again 100%

    Tyler2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Peace and quiet and Paradise views!

    Caroline_linde@Yahoo.Com2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for peace and quiet with a wonderful view. We picked the right place. William’s house is airy and full of light with a large wrap around deck with an amazing wide open view of mountains, farms, vineyards. The inside is well equipped and very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The house is not far from a major highway so it is easy to get to breweries, wineries, hiking, lakes, grocery stores. William met me at the house and showed me where everything is. He is very hospitable and very relaxed about check in and out times. We definitely recommend this listing and would stay here again.

  • Kelly is awesome and this place is awesome. I’ll definitely recommend others and come again if I get chance!

    Ruochen2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This house is tucked away in a perfect spot for hitting up some local breweries, and for making a trip up to Wintergreen Resort. Kelly is super friendly, and breakfast is out of this world!

    Candice2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location and very close to Wintergreen. Room was sparkling clean and Kelly made us an amazing gourmet breakfast that kept us going on the slopes!

    Michael2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, great communication and excellent location for brewery touring and close to wintergreen resort. Will definitely come back.

    Lynette2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • They have 100’s of 5 star reviews for a reason. Restroom was cleaner than most hotels I have stayed at. Delicious cookies left on a dresser for us to enjoy. The breakfast was awesome, home made apple strudels, fresh chicken eggs (which were perfectly cooked) and potatoes and vegetables. About ten minutes from wintergreen ski resort and 5 minutes from multiple breweries. You don’t feel like your staying at a strangers house, you feel like you are visiting close relatives.

    Domingo2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly and Mark are two of the most down-to-earth people that you'll ever have the pleasure meeting. With 8 years in the Air B&B industry, they know how to make their guests feel very welcome and with Mark's professional chef background, the breakfast is better than any restaurant! Their house is super warm, very clean and cozy and their dog is super sweet! With a beautiful location nestled below the mountains, it's only an 8-10 minute drive to Wintergreen.

    Victoria2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVE staying at the wintergreen ranch! Mark and Kelly are fantastic hosts and we always enjoy our stay.

    Sara2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great location for the Wintergreen Ski Resort. Not only was Kelly and Mark's house decorated perfectly for the season, but the breakfast was delicious and divine. I will be a repeat customer. Looking forward to the pancakes and Eggs Benedict!

My home is located in the quaint hamlet of Schuyler, home of the Waltons. We are 15 minutes to Locken music festival, 20 minutes to wineries, cideries, breweries and 30 minutes to Charlottesville, Blue Ridge parkway, and Monticello.
  • This B&B is a great place to stay when visiting in Nelson county in Virginia. Very relaxing.

  • Clean, comfortable, engaging atmosphere. Relaxing

    Linda Sue2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • We visited because my wife is an avid Walton's fan. The house has a feel of the period, so adding to the visit. Linda is an excellent host - great breakfast and everything else. Also recommended a good place to eat.

    Alan2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful Home to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet! I loved being so close to The Walton’s-Hamner House!

    Linda Sue2019-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Magical perfect stay in this fabulous home with period furnishings! We wished we could have stayed a week! We felt so sad to leave! Adorable pets, meaningful conversation, comfortable bed with very clean linens, whimsically decorated, stellar homemade breakfast; frittata, blueberry pancakes, sweet muffins, fruit cup! Little magical touches abound! We didn’t mind sharing the clean bathroom one bit! It was very peaceful! My daughter loved the innkeeper, chocolate candy cups, fireflies, attic room, and the friendly furry friends! See both the Waltons museums if you stay here! We honestly enjoyed better than Monticello!

    Tamy2019-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • An incredible value, superb Victorian house with charm and grace.... just like the host. My heart is full after staying here when visiting Walton’s mountain on Easter weekend. An incredible fun visit !!

    Regina2019-04-15T00:00:00Z
