Park
“ Rich in history, this park provides recreational offerings that engage visitors and help connect them with farming practices that formed its unique pastoral landscape. This 1,860-acre park has scenic views, woodlands and the rolling pastures of a historic farm that captures the colonial through modern life of the Crooked Run Valley. Nature and history programs are offered year-round. Hiking, picnicking, fishing and primitive hike-in camping for families and groups are favorite activities in this peaceful getaway on the eastern side of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The park has 10.5 miles of bridle trails, 22 miles of hiking trails, 9 miles of bike trails and Appalachian Trail access.”

Winery
“A fascinating winery along 211 along the way to Skyline Drive. “The Gray Ghost” was the nickname given to John Singleton Mosby, a brilliant Confederate Cavalry Battalion Commander during the Civil War. He was cunning and daring and his tactics are still studied today. The winery is a museum of Civil War paintings and memorabilia dedicated to Mosby and his Rangers. If you like history and good wine, you will probably enjoy this winery. ”

“A bit of a drive from Culpeper, but we are members of this winery because their wines are amazing, owners are great and the grounds are very nice. It's a California style vineyard, as the owners are from that state and had a family winery there.”
