“Quando sono arrivata a Firenze che avevo ancora 18 anni è stata la prima cosa che ho visto di questa città. La ricordo ancora quando era una piccola stazione di provincia senza neanche una galleria commerciale o il parcheggio per le auto. E ora invece è diventata una stazione Internazionale che accoglie turisti da ogni parte del mondo. Fateci caso mentre in treno vi avvicinate alla stazione come dai finestrini si vede già la Cupola del Brunelleschi in tutta la sua bellezza; innamoratevi del sole che vi accoglierà dalle ampie vetrate del tetto. E poi una volta fuori godete della bellezza della Chiesa di Santa Maria Novella da cui la stazione prende il nome. Benvenuti a Firenze.”
