  • I enjoyed my stay. It’s a very small town but it was nice getting away from the city. The stores and local restaurants are very close to Angela’s place.

  • Angela’s space is an incredible getaway for those hoping to get away from the craziness of LA without having to travel too far. The house is spacious, stylish, clean, and conveniently located right off the highway. Angela is also very accommodating and a great communicator! Would recommend to anyone.

  • Amazing space & amazing host! Very much enjoyed my stay

    Mike2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house is the perfect size whether you're by yourself or with a guest. Everything was clean, neat, and ready for me when I arrived. The fireplace in the master bedroom is wonderful and creates such a cozy space. The master bed is so comfortable, and the jetted tub in the bathroom is such a nice way to relax. There is only one TV in the house and it's in the guest bedroom, but I know I wasn't there to watch TV so it was fine with me. The house has character and is a little quirky, but it made it feel much more genuine. The kitchen has everything you need to make what you want, or just have simple breakfasts before heading out for the day. Location is literally in the middle of the tiny town of Fraizer Park, 5-10 min walking distance to the grocery store, pizza place, pharmacy, and even a dollar general. Driving to Fort Tejon only took 10 min and the entire area is so beautiful to explore! It's a perfect little getaway cabin! I'm so glad I booked this location and will be staying here anytime I can visit the area again.

Come enjoy life in the mountains surrounded by huge pine and oak trees. 6,000 ft above sea level, Pine Mountain Club is a small village with beautiful weather year-round, ranging from snow to autumn foliage to spring wildflowers. Whether you are here to enjoy nature, relax and retreat from the hustle and bustle, reconnect with family, or need to work on your latest script or novel – our goal is to meet all your needs!
Have a seat on the large deck with a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate and enjoy the clean air and surroundings. The second-floor loft, has an additional deck, which is the perfect spot to enjoy that glass of wine and take in the view. Take hike, read a book, and enjoy the peace and quiet! There are many trails, including one at the end of the road (about 0.6 miles from the house) that leads to a waterfall. Make sure to keep a look out for squirrels, deer, blue jays, quail, rabbits – even the occasional bear! At night, look up and enjoy the stars. There is one bedroom downstairs with a double bed. The second floor is one large loft area, with one double bed and two twin beds. Fresh linens and fluffy towels are provided, as is soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The kitchen has the essentials and is kept stocked with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, olive oil, basic spices, sugar, and creamer. The local village general store has anything else you might need. Please feel at home and cook up some breakfast to fuel you for a day of exploring the mountain. If you have any special requests please let us know; we will do our best to accommodate you. The bathroom is a little small but immaculately clean. Please be aware, Verizon is the only cell service that works reliably up here; for those of us with other carriers, we do have wifi. In keeping with the rustic mountain feel, we do not have a television (but feel free to stream Netflix on your devices!). Instead, we have provided some books and board games for your use. Children are welcome, but if they are young please keep an eye on them near the stairs! We will endeavor to keep cleaning materials out of reach, but we do not have a bassinet or crib. We do charge a very small cleaning fee in order to maintain our standards; our goal is to keep this cabin as clean as we would expect it for ourselves!
Our cabin is located in the Los Padres National Forest, about 6000 ft above sea level and close to Mt Pinos, Sawmill Mountain, Antimony Peak, and many others. We are about 18 miles from Route 5, 33 miles from Pyramid Lake, 60 miles from Bakersfield, and 82 miles from Hollywood. In the village (about 4 minutes from the cabin) there is Fern’s Lake, some cute shops, a bakery, and restaurants.
  • Lovely cabin in a beautiful location! We enjoyed our stay. Anita is a great host and communicated effectively.

    Roxanna2020-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time. Purely the experience of no city noise nor vibes. What you hear is only from the nature such as singing of birds or winds, etc. So peaceful. Perfect place to Relax, Refresh and Rejuvenate. Price is reasonable as well. Highly recommended.

    Joy2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and cozy. Friendly neighbors super quiet. Great communication with the hosts. We would definitely return again!

    Lissette2020-04-30T00:00:00Z

  • Anita's place is great! It is in a peaceful mountain community. Her place provides serenity, board games, and a mountain community welcoming. Anita was extremely responsive and flexible working with me around scheduling, definitely will be back :)

  • A perfect cozy little gem in the mountains. We were lucky to be up there in a snow storm, seriously, and during the Self-distancing. It was amazing to be surrounded in all the snow. There were many fabulous views seen from every window in the house. The amenities as were described, very clean, and cozy. Our hosts were awesome, plus quick and easy to get a hold of. We were well pleased with our accommodations. Thank you!

Charming, cozy and off the beaten track of city life. The perfect place for a romantic getaway or a peaceful writer’s retreat. More stars than Hollywood on Academy Awards night! The cabin is a guesthouse on a ¾ acre terraced property with a bedroom and reading area upstairs. Downstairs is a newly renovated bathroom, a kitchenette. Close by the cabin is a chicken coop and firepit.
The guesthouse is close to the main house, but guest privacy is absolutely respected.
The neighborhood is very quiet except for the cricket during the summer!
  • My boyfriend and I decided to do a last minute weekend trip in the mountains to get away from the chaos and decompress. There is not a single better place we could have gone. Susan was SO sweet and welcoming, provided a nice little welcome basket with fruit and wine (yum!), and provided a nice, clean, and well-stocked cabin. We were so cozy and had such a great time! Definitely choose Susan’s place for a cozy little getaway :)

    Lily2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Susan is a great host and a wonderful person! She went above and beyond to help me with anything I needed! Her cabin is very clean and tastefully decorated, a nice and cozy hideout in the mountains!

    Marco2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Susan has a beautiful cabin with a special touch. The hospitality was great and the views were amazing. She allowed us to walk around the property and gave us a binder with places to eat, hike and more information about the place. The basket with fruit and wine was a great add. We thank you and look forward to returning soon.

    Carol2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Susan! We had a perfect stay in the mountains and a lovely weekend break. We really appreciated the extra touches, cleanliness and offers of assistance. You have a beautiful property and we can't wait to return soon! If you want absolute silence and stunning scenery, this is the place to stay!

    Josh2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Susan’s cabin was so nice and comfortable that I ended up extending my stay two nights. It is private but not secluded. Beautiful environment. Highly recommend.

    Kolby2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Susan’s place was quite amazing and a perfect spot for a nice and relaxing weekend getaway just a about an hour away from the LA metro area. This cozy cabin if perfect for two and is located right off a street that leads you to a hiking trail up the mountain. The place was impeccably clean and Susan was very nice to leave two muffins and a bottle of wine on the kitchenette table for us when we arrived. We also appreciated the binder she left for us filled with local restaurant recommendations and nearby activities and hiking trails which was a very nice touch. I would definitely stay at Susan’s place again!

    Albert2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • All the 5-star reviews before this one are spot on. Susan’s place was cozy and immaculate, she made us feel at ease communicating on our way up, and let us use her lovely yard which was coated in a bit of snow. Truly a magical place. We loved sitting by the fire pit in the afternoon and making s’mores. Susan goes above and beyond as a host and her communication was always prompt and helpful, even before our arrival date. The heating in the cabin is great - there’s a heater upstairs and downstairs, as well as in the bathroom. In short, this is a hidden gem of a cabin. Most folks go for lake arrowhead, Crestline or Big Bear, but this is easily on par with those areas if you don’t care about being right near a lake. I heard from some locals, there are also beautiful hikes just up the road and a great scenic drive up Mt. Pinos. The local restaurants were also delicious! Book this cabin, you’ll love it!

    Laura2020-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • I went to the ranch solo to get away for a little while. I guess I was searching for something. By the time I left I felt like I found it. The ranch isn’t just any country Airbnb, it’s something else. The views are absolutely breathtaking. The hiking is never ending. The sunsets/sunrises are amazing. Marlin has it all figured out. Not to mention all of the unique touches he adds that make it really special. Like the pioneer themes, or the llamas and horse (which I’m pretty sure I am best friends with now). And the milk and cookies he set out put the biggest smile on my face. I even had a little incident with my ride breaking down, and he helped me figure a way out. Thank you for one of the best weekends of my life. I never imagined that could happen somewhere all by myself.

    Danielle2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Marlin’s perfect guest cabin! If you are looking for a cozy private cabin with stunning mountain views look no further! The property took my breath away. As we pulled up, the gorgeous black and white paint horse greeted us as well as several llamas and alpacas! They were all extremely friendly- especially the horse! She was an absolute delight! She actually came running when I called several times! It was so special to be able to walk on the property and spend time next to the beautiful and calm animals. It provides a peacefulness and warmth unlike anything. The guest cabin is spacious and can fit four guests very comfortably. The pull out couch was firm but I slept well on it. Kitchen and bathroom were extremely clean and the host provided complimentary coffee and donuts. Very nice touch! Note: I didn’t see a freezer, only a refrigerator, but that wasn’t an issue at all for our stay. Also no oven, but we were very content to use the hot plates and microwave! Walking around the property was a one of a kind, private experience. There is also a fire pit! We had a great fire while watching the sunset (which was AMAZING). The ranch feels like you have your own private mountain. I highly recommend this to hobby nature photographers as the views are one of a kind. Also Marlin was extremely helpful and kind- he let us check in TWO HOURS EARLY and also offered us extra firewood if needed! I will definitely be back. My new favorite spot. Thank you Marlin!

    Nina2020-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Very peaceful! Literally right off I-5, but felt like I was miles away from anything. I would definitely stay here again

    Michael2020-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Read Marlin’s directions, do not go by Google! This is such a beautiful place to escape and the best part is farm fresh eggs in the morning. I can’t wait to come back again!

    Jacquelyn2020-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • The place is unique and amazing , we felt that we were in the movie, it’s surreal, a horse, llamas, chickens, beautiful view, fresh air, so many safe hiking trails, great host who made very well welcome. It’s a one in a life time experience and need to experience. We travel a lot with my family, and this one of the unique places we really appreciated. I would highly recommend this place .

Beautiful, rustic, quiet country get-away. Just 90 minutes North of L.A. on the edge of Angeles National Forest. Perfect for an artist or writer's retreat. Private studio guesthouse on 17 acres. Cozy and comfortable. Includes access to above-ground pool*, painting studio (must bring own art supplies), large writer's desk, and miles of hiking trails along the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail). * Pool is seasonal (mid May - mid October)
  • This little cottage is just what I needed for a little getaway during my cooped up time at home during quarantine. When I arrived to the beautiful woody entrance you’ll see a sign that says hidden acres and then you drive up and park right outside your little stay where it says guest parking. The door was unlocked and right inside you’ll see a note with info about your stay and the key to the house on the table ♥️ Love how easy this was. When I get away I like an easy check in process! there was no stress here- I just walked into a beautiful clean space with essential oils in the air and made myself right at home. I found an old Red Hot Chili Peppers stadium arcadium burned cd so popped that into the CD player right above the fridge and jammed out :P Eric’s book collection is also amazing so later that night I got into some poetry and photo books to hunker down with after my long day. I also took a nice hot bath in the beautiful clean all white bathroom and lit my own candles that I brought for the stay. Magical little space. The bed was comfortable and I slept great! Woke up to sunshine coming through the windows and didn’t want to leave! Highly recommend this amazing special place.

    Diana2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Erics place. The location is great if you want some peace and quiet is the midst of nature. I have lived in Los Angeles for 13 years, and never knew how beautiful the areas around Lake Hughes are. The studio is a great size, the space is considered, and the property feels nicely isolated. There is no stove, but the is a microwave and a small toaster or, which is no disadvantage, but is it best to prepare food in the knowledge of that. We were too early for the pool, but hope to return in the future to take full advantage of what this place has to offer. I highly recommend a stay at Erics place for peace, quiet and nature.

    Rebecca2020-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • It was lovely and clean and very nicely decorated. Thanks Eric!

  • Awesome peaceful place. Definitely will be back.

    M2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • A great place! Very clean, quiet and serene. I needed to do a lot of driving at the time of my stay and I was so happy to be able to come home to this at night. The bed is beyond comfortable. (The bathtub is super inviting too and the bathroom has a heater to warm it up a bit ). Be aware to bring your own prepared and cooked food. If you love being in nature you will love this place. So wonderful to be able to have my dog here too!

    Joey2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I had an absolute wonderful time recharging at Eric's studio. He has a huge area of land that my dog and I explored for hours. I have never seen my dog's tail wag so hard! The studio was very cozy and the heaters kept me plenty warm. Of course there are a few bugs here and there but that is part of the experience. I stopped by Trader Joes on the way and brought some food to heat in the microwave (no stove). It was so nice to just recharge and listen to the birds chirping, see all the stars for the first time in a long time, and just do nothing. I will definitely be back soon!

A cozy two bedroom cabin surrounded by giant pine and oak trees. Enjoy sitting outside and take in the mountain views! Watch the squirrels, Quail, Blue Jays and deer pass through. Take advantage of tour BBQ and have an outdoor cookout. Sit outside and see the amazing stars that look so close you can touch them with your hand. Make sure to wish upon a shooting star that you are sure to see streaking across the sky! For a video tour visit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUyBB-AeStc
No cleaning fee! We provide washed linens and washed towels for your stay unlike many properties on the mountain. We provide soap and shampoo in the bathroom. The barbecue is ready to go with propane. Our kitchen has all the essentials to make a great meal. We have 5 great restaurants less then one mile from the house. We have an indoor wood burning fireplace. We generally have wood there however you may want to bring some or pick some up at the general store one mile from the cabin. Outside we have a large picnic table with a few Adirondack chairs to sit outside and enjoy the pine trees and sounds of nature. We provide a propane barbecue everything you need to cook outside. We provide basic WIFI for you to use while at the cabin. Our mountain cabin in the Los Padres National Forest just 45 minutes from Bakersfield and 75 minutes from the San Fernando Valley. Pine Mountain is one of Southern California's best-kept secrets--a small alpine village with a four-season climate. We have light snow in the Winter, spectacular wildflowers in Spring, and gorgeous Fall colors. It's a wonderful getaway—and yet so close! During the winter if snowing snow chains may be required if you don't have a 4 wheel drive vehicle. If you have a special request just let us know.
There is several great hikes. My favorite is the Woodland waterfall hike. It is about a 1/2 mile to the 30 foot waterfall that flows year round. My favorite restaurant is La Lena Mexican but Pine Mountain Pizza co is a great choice as well. End the night at The Perch bar and restaurant. There are several fun shops in the village about a two minute drive from the cottage. Make sure to visit the Bear Claw Bakery in the village for Breakfast.
  • Great stay, and cozy spot! Great if you just need some quiet time.

    Manuel2020-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Roomy and functional for a guy and a dog. Tidy space. Easy check-in. Fast heater. Good wifi. No cable/satellite, so byo Chromecast/Roku/Fire if you please. Kitchen is nice and open and has most of the tools, but byo cooking ingredients. Front of cabin gets relaxing sunlight during the day. Couch is tight, not built for napping. The bed was a cozy foam mattress. Slept well. Dog was especially delighted that he could fit under the bed. All in all a great stay.

    Maz2020-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a simple and cozy cabin property. The environment is quiet and outstanding. The hiking site is unique and way up in the mountain. Highly recommended!

  • Cute, simple, cozy cabin way up in the mountains. WiFi is provided, but no cable or Netflix access that I was aware of. Definitely the right choice if your looking for a secluded place to disconnect from the world for a bit. Host response time was great the entire trip.

  • Rocco was extremely helpful and accommodating. Our stay at his cabin didn’t workout due to unforeseen circumstances but Rocco was amazing at finding us an alternative cabin for us to enjoy. We celebrated our anniversary there and had a fantastic time. We look forward to returning to Pine Mountain Club and hopefully staying at Rocco’s cabin. His customer service was superb!!

RESTURANTS --> PIZZA: check out Mike's Pizza around the corner from the house or Caveman Cavey's in town (they have live music most Thursday nights) --> VEGETARIAN, VEGAN & DIET RESTRICTIONS: check out The Dot a unique restaurant about five minutes up the road that accommodates most diets. -> BREAKFAST: check out Falcon's Nest or Big John's. They are almost across the street from each other. I tend to prefer Falcon's Next. --> COFFEE: check out the Organic Market in town. They have a full service coffee shop inside. GROCERY STORES: There is one smaller Grocery store on the mountain and one very small Organic Market. We recommend purchasing what you need before you head up the mountain, especially if you have dietary restrictions. Although, I have been able to find most of what I need at those stores.

  • The weekend was really fun and exciting. Had a great time and Brent was very responsive and helpful. There were minor issues such as outlets not working, but Brent tried his best to assist us with that. Some issues with cleanliness, but overall was a nice cozy house. As stated before the ride to the house is very bumpy and difficult so be prepared for that. Thank you!

  • Amazing house in an amazing location. Very clean and comfortable the only even remote issue we had was the kitchen, while plenty stocked with frying pans, pots, plates, silverware, etc., lacked things like measuring cups or a baking pan. Other than that the house was beautiful and made an amazing getaway!

    Tyler2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cozy stay! Great location - very close to decent hikes and the town. Perfect for a romantic weekend getaway. Will definitely book again.

  • The place is an absolute gem. The pictures are completely accurate but the magic of the place can not be captured. A haven in the woods. We loved the top deck that makes you feel like you are surrounded by nature. Pine Mountain also boasts tons of beautiful trails and hikes that were tranquil and breathtaking. The DVD collection has lots of classics and was very entertaining! Douglas and Candace are also on top of it and respond very quickly to questions. Highly recommend!

I also received a courtesy email regarding the weather conditions prior to our departure because we were expecting snow during our stay. Absolutely perfect for a family or a couple looking for a peaceful vacation or getaway. Thank you so much Candace & Doug your cabin is amazing! :)

  • By far the BEST Airbnb I’ve stayed at. I don’t often leave reviews, but I will do so if my stay and experience has been outstanding. Felicity’s space did not disappoint. Her communication was prompt and she was able to accommodate me at a time of need and at a moment’s notice. What a tranquil, peaceful and AMAZING getaway if you’re looking to get out of the city or just want a cozy mountain cabin to suit your lifestyle. This space is beyond words. The cabin was clean, fully stocked and so comfortable and flat out GORGEOUS. Felicity is one of the most amazing humans I’ve ever met. She is also a professional quilter and if you get a chance to meet her and see her designs, you will be blown away. The room at the cozy quail is exactly as described - COZY with quails abound. Quiet and peaceful. Hands down, some of the best nights’ sleep I’ve had in years. The cabin’s theme matches that of the forest and mountain range of the locale. You would not believe her taste and fine details and touches. Felicity - I cannot express enough how on point you are as an Airbnb hostess...you know all the local spots, trails to hike and are so knowledgeable of mountain life in general - something that was new to me as a city girl. I wish you all the best and I can’t wait to bring Travis up to meet you. I will definitely reserve again when the time is right - and I look forward to that quilt girlie as soon as the timing is right for us both. YOU ARE AMAZING and thank you for everything! - xoxo - Kim (Los Angeles, Ca) <3

  • Beautiful house in the mountains, peace and tranquility in a dream place. One of the best Airbnb experiences we had, and Felícity is a great host. We would definitely go back to The Cozy Quail. Thank you Felicity for giving us such a beautiful home.

  • Felicity and her home are so inviting, you will feel like an old friend in no time. The wood burning stove, crazy soft comfy bed, private bathroom, and access to the home and inviting yard made it hard to leave. Felicity is well organized and full of suggestions. If you don't mind a little rock scrambling, the short hike up to Waterford Falls is magical. Thanks, Felicity. BEST VALUE EVER!

  • This place is GREAT! I'll be back. It's very private, way up high, and so so quiet. Stars at night were amazing. Sunsets from nearby places were unbeatable. The nature/woods near by was life giving. The home has everything you need!! It really felt like my home by the end of the week, loved it so much.

  • Our stay at Jolie's Cabin Sweet Cabin was everything we could ever ask for and more. Jolie's cabin is very comfortable and such a lovely place to relax and enjoy. Our trip was during Easter weekend and we were able to enjoy the beautiful snow while being warm in Jolie's cabin. Jolie is very great at responding quickly before and during our trip, which is great in case of any questions anyone visiting may have. Her instructions for check-in and check-out are very clear and made the process easy. Jolie provides the essentials you may need, which we were pleasantly surprised because other cabins don't supply as much. She provides all of the necessary kitchenware and even a few spices we forgot to bring. We brought our miniature pinscher with us and she loved exploring around the cabin's backyard. We were pleasantly surprised to see that Jolie had a comfortable pet carrier and doggie blankets ready- that's such a lovely touch to see in a cabin. My daughter is normally very stressed due to being a college student and working part-time, but this trip was the most relaxed I have seen her in a long time. I think this was a trip we all needed. We will definitely be back and highly recommend anyone to book the Cabin Sweet Cabin- you won't regret it!

  • My experience at Arvind's home was special and I feel very lucky that I chose this location for my stay. Arvind's home has a beautiful view of the mountains and is in a fantastic location if you are interested in immersing yourself in nature. His property has several great spots for relaxing and reading, especially outside in the backyard. There are also a variety of great hiking spots nearby, including Mount Pinos, Pine Mountain Club, and Pyramid Lake. Arvind went out of his way to make my stay be as refreshing and comfortable as possible and provided really good recommendations for food and hikes throughout the week. On top of all this, I attended Arvind's yoga class on Sunday. He walked me through practicing breathwork for the first time and helped me experience a fulfilling meditation. I highly recommend this stay to anyone who is looking to recharge and rejuvenate.

  • This cabin was perfect for our family mini mountain vacation. It’s cozy and located close to hiking trails. The views of the mountains are fabulous. Mona checked in with us and responded quickly. The beds and couch were comfy and the wood stove kept us warm and cozy. There was a variety of DVDs. The kids loved watching some original Garfield cartoons and Indiana Jones. They also really enjoyed the basket of toys and kids books.

  • Mona and Olaf’s place was amazing! It feels like you’re in the middle of nature, while being a close distance to the little town. The space was perfect for our family (with 3 kids). There were kids DVDs along with other DVDs (to include some classics like Indiana Jones!). There were also board games and music CDs. The little basket full of toys was also a fun surprise for my kids to play with. The back deck was amazing, and the kids had a fun time playing outside. There were sleds and other snow play items to use. There was a bit of snow left in the backyard, but we also drove down the road and found a sledding hill. The wood burning stove inside was perfect for staying warm and cozy. The kitchen has everything you could need to cook with, we did all of our meals at the house except for one. For dinner one night we all walked to the little town (about half a mile through neighborhoods) and ate at the cute little Mexican restaurant. The communication and response time with Mona was super quick, even though I know she was halfway across the world. I would recommend this home to any small family, or even two couples (since the bedrooms are on opposite sides of the house). Thank you so much Mona and Olaf for sharing your home!

  • This is a great place to get away and enjoy winter. The cabin is very cozy and located conveniently close to many hiking trails and recreational areas. And considering the rates that it's offered for, I would say it's a good value!!

    Kishan2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place was really nice and cozy. It’s centrally located, but the back faces a mountain so it feels secluded and quiet. There is no way she could list everything she has. She even had sleds and snow brick makers, so we built two igloos! Thank you!!

    Susanne2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • It was a clean and homey feel Cabin. Mona was quick with her responses even when she was in the Netherlands. The rooms were warm and the views were beautiful. Definitely want to come back.

    Gabriela2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • A great little cabin in the mountains nothing too fancy but enough for a great time. Really relaxing environment, the host has dvds, books and toys for the kids. Plenty of essentials around the house if you forgot something. The only thing that I didn’t like is that you will have to collect your trash when you leave and place it in separate containers about a mile down the road.

    Fernando2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time here. The place is smaller but laid out well and had everything we needed. The location is great! We were able to play in the snow right in the backyard and just walk up the street to see the lake. It is also very close to the small village where we even picked up pizza for dinner one night. Even with it being 12 degrees one night, we were always warm and toasty inside!

  • We had a wonderful weekend w/ our young daughter. The views are beautiful and it is so quiet. There is no one in sight for miles. The problem we had was finding it. We arrived at night, so maybe that was the reason why. He had one of his friends drive us directly to the rv.

  • Places is awesome. Very private and beautiful scenery.

    Manny2020-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • This RV is situated in a remote area where you'll be surrounded by majestic green mountains 360 degrees. Definitely bring your campfire wood to take advantage of the fire pit. It gets cold at night, so bring clothes to dress accordingly. The RV is VERY clean. Would definitelyrecommend!

    Susan2020-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great, if your looking to relax away from others. It was so nice in the night there was no noise at all and you can stare at the stars which was amazing. The trailer was nice too. I would be back for sure

  • Marlin was a wonderful host. The place we stayed in was great. Thoughtfully organized and very clean. The scenery was wonderful as we went when it snowed. We loved everything about our stay

  • This is a great getaway spot for anyone in LA that just wants to do simple camping. The lot is sizable and can accommodate a large group. The view is breathtaking and is a beautiful location. Google directions does not navigate you to the correct spot so check on the directions that he sends. Otherwise you will dead end at a gate. (At least that was our experience.) The site is private and is very quiet. We saw lot of wildlife and enjoyed visiting with the llamas at the top of the hill!

Nestled in the Los Padres National Forest at the foot of 9,000' Mt. Pinos, comfy, fully equipped 3 bedroom home is perfect for families (it can accommodate 6), and is the ideal romantic getaway. Only an hour from the San Fernando Valley, Chris' Cabin is a world away from the hustle and bustle of LA. This is a convenient and inexpensive way to get away from it all for a week-end. We are walking distance from the village center, with restaurants, general store and clubhouse. Lots of local hiking!
Our cabin is actually a very comfortable 1,000 square foot, two storey house, with a fully equipped kitchen, top of the line appliances, super-comfy beds, broadband Internet with wi-fi so you can use your laptop anywhere in the cabin or on our spacious deck, with its breathtaking view of Mt. San Emigdio. We have always called it our "cabin", because it feels that way, with its beautiful pine paneling, brick fireplace and the shag carpet upstairs. Check out our 120+ Five-Star reviews on our VRBO listing #158121
Our cabin is just a 5-minute drive or a 10 minute walk (via the scenic "Snowflake" trail, itself a charming destination, with tree stump picnic tables, bridges, benches and statues) to the quaint village center, with a good little general store, restaurants, an Internet cafe and the clubhouse, with full amenities for our guests, including a pool, tennis courts a golf course and a bistro. Unlike more well-known Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear, Pine Mountain Club is a sleepy little hamlet, where time slows down, and everybody is friendly :-)
  • My kids and I needed a place to get away. We did this quickly and Chris was super accomodating and communicative. He even took care of all the logistics of us extending our stay one night the night before we were to check out. Place was clean enough for a cabin in the woods. A pine needle or two adds character :-). Bathrooms and Kitchen and BBQ were spotless. It's BYO Linens so didn't have to worry about the cleanliness of that. Fine by me. Two deer chilled in our yard during the morning we left. The place, while in a loosely occupied area, feels very secluded. You can't see any other houses except from the driveway. Lastly, Chris was a great host. Gave me all the info I needed well in advance. Had a nice phone call. Was available during the stay via text for questions (very quick responses). Epic DVD collection. Allowed me to introduce my kids to Monty Python. Will stay again!

The cabin is always super clean every time I stay. The cabin is our favorite get away, we already can’t wait to go back.

  • Great cabin great scenery met all expectations and some, kids had lots of fun at the snow, this cabin felt very private, great view when having a cup of coffee and overlooking the mountain sides and breathing in the fresh air. There is a LARGE collection of good books and DVDS and not enough time :) our host Chris was great, very detailed with expectations and rules. No issues or concerns with our stay, this cabin is truly something to appreciate and enjoy!!

  • Terry and Militsa gave us such a warm welcome, and made our stay so comfy and great. We even got a grand tour of the ranch, with its many horses, goats, and other adorable animals. Star gazing there was also breathtaking, especially coming from a big city like Los Angeles.

  • Alecia’s place was an amazing getaway from the city life, and she was exceptional at communicating with us at the house!

    Chris2020-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place has stunning views which provide immediate relief from living in inner city LA. In parallel it has so much individual funky character, from the bear cam on TV to the home made bath salts to the wood burning stove. Not to mention an abundance of beautiful hiking trails. Rarely do you enter a home where instantly you can tell people have been happy here before - Alecia's place has that great aura. Thank you so much - we hope to be back as soon as we can.

    Lola Blanche2020-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! What an amazing place. Check in was super easy, and the cabin was very well cleaned. Lots of cool amenities (Alexa, Apple TV, smart home connectivity, etc). LOVED the wood stove and the firepit on the back patio. Beds were super comfortable and would absolutely stay here again. And Alecia was super accommodating and very easy to communicate with. Can't recommend highly enough!!!!!

    Kevin2020-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to getaway! Alecia thought of everything! This Cabin has everything you need and more! You will be pleasantly surprised with all of the finishing touches that will make your stay from good to great! All outdoor furniture was well kept and enjoyable to sit and watch the wildlife. It’s a short walk to Fern lake (more like a big pond, catch/release...fun nonetheless) We didn’t have time to play the tons of board games or even take advantage of relaxing in the claw tub...maybe next time. We had more things to do than the time we had. Definitely coming back!

    Star2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • We went during the perfect time. It snowed 2 days prior and left a beautiful light blanket to enjoy. This place is inviting and tranquil. We grilled during the night and drank coffee on the nicely furnished patio in the morning. The pond is a zen touch. We also took a hike recommendation from the host's binder and had a wonderful time. Would definitely book again.

    Joann2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great, it's tucked away in a remote mountain town, but complete with all modern amenities. There is plenty of hiking in the immediate area. Alecia was incredibly responsive and we've already recommended this place to many of our friends. If you are traveling for an extended stay, we would recommend visiting a grocery store on your drive in because this location is a little secluded, but there is a full kitchen.

    Luke2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice Airbnb. With amazing views and a lovely cabin, it was super relaxing. I did get some snow on my way here, so I wasn't expecting that. Although, it was beautiful waking up seeing the morning snow. Just a warning, it does become super chilly at the cabin, but there's accommodations to make it warmer when you stay. I would love to come back here and I highly recommend it!

We truly believe that you will not find another cabin more lovingly decorated, each piece acquired one at a time, to complement the beauty of the mountain. It is private and tucked in tall pines but is walking distance to the village. We were recently notified by Airbnb that we received Superhost status for the tenth time in a row. We are so pleased about that as we work to make your stay better each time.
COVID-19 orders in Pine Mountain Club as of May 8, 2020 until further notice Dear Guest, Under the current COVID-19 orders, I can provide you with short-term, even one night, lodging for the following: 1.) Provide housing for essential critical infrastructure workers; or 2.) Provide Covid-19 mitigation and containment measures, for example, isolation and quarantine or the housing of displaced persons or the homeless residing with the area. You would just need to tell me if you fit under one of the above categories, and then I could go forward with booking you! For all others, until the shelter in place orders are lifted by the Governor, Kern County, and Pine Mountain Club, owners are prohibited from doing short-term rentals at Pine Mountain Club. Although we wish we could give everyone our cozy cabin to relax in for a night or two, we support all methods to keep our guests safe and will follow the Kern County orders. But, in the meantime, we are able to accept long term bookings for non-emergency workers as well as emergency workers! If you wish to really relax for a longer period of time, please let me know and we'll reserve your space on the spot! And, we've applied deep discounts to our weekly and monthly rates. When we reopen to short-term rentals, you will be the first to know! My housekeeper will continue to do superior sanitizing of our cabin! And, if you've read this far and if you book any available night or two from June on out, just tell us that you want the 10%CabinFever discount! And, you're good to go. Stay safe and healthy, Anya's Cottages ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: The film we spoke to you about below, Frazier Park Recut, is now available to stream for free on Amazon Prime, Google Play, and Microsoft Store!! We also now have a DVD at the cabin from the producers of the film so that guests can watch it at the cabin! All we ask is that you take good care of it and leave it where you found it. You can watch the cabin you're staying in in an indie horror film! How cool is that. [[We recently heard from a former guest that the film he made at our cabin, "Frazier Park Recut," premiered at the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival on April 28th! How exciting is that. What's even more exciting is that his film won first place in the category of "Horror/Thriller"!! We're very happy for him and hope to be able to meet him when the film opens in LA. :)]] Summer is spectacular in Pine Mountain Club! Please note: Holiday times require a minimum 2-night stay. Also note: We do not charge a pet fee for your well-behaved and house-trained pets! Look at the radiant couple in our last photo! They just recently got married at the cabin and said their day was perfect. We love that! We own the property adjacent to the cabin, a park-like space available to our guests! It contains a horseshoe pit, horseshoes included; a rock pond with a waterfall, filled in the spring; a picnic table; many seating areas and benches; three covered benches for reading or relaxation; a wishing well; a windmill; walking paths; and decorative garden art. We hope our guests enjoy this new property and new feature of Anya's Cottages. Please contact us if you wish to rent only the outdoor space for day events. Contact us also about special events and retreats. We just hosted our first two weddings at the cabin and look forward to more! There are no cancellations for special events within 60 days. Our cabin has been used by more than one film crew and for a number of club retreats. It borders the protected national forest and has a soothing, seasonal stream on the property. It is private and tucked in tall pines but is walking distance to the village where you can shop for groceries, browse for antiques, go to the local coffeehouse, dine, and listen to local music. The cabin has undergone a cleaning and an attractive renovation, which includes spa tile in the main bathroom; a rain shower head; hardwood flooring up and downstairs; a beautiful, full-sized stove, oven, and hood; new programmable coffeemaker; vacuum cleaner, mop, and broom; some new furniture and decorations; new pot and pan set; DVD player; log bed for the second bedroom (now in addition to the one in the master bedroom); IKEA twin bed and mattresses; 6 new pillows--4 down and 2 hypo-allergenic; designer down comforters; and, new fixtures in the downstairs bath. But, most importantly: we have hooked up the propane heater! And, what a difference it makes. Having gas heat in the bedroom/main bath area keeps you more toasty than most of the cabins do which tend to have electric heaters here in PMC. And, upstairs, the wood stove keeps you as warm as you'd like! This 1200+ square foot, two-story cabin has two bedrooms (one with a queen-sized log bed and a twin, the other with a full-sized log bed and a twin); a fold-out bed; a large fold-out sleeping pad; one-and-one-half baths; is paneled in knotty pine throughout and has hardwood floors up and downstairs; and filled with authentic vintage mountain furnishings, antiques, and cozy quilts. It also has several decks where you can relax in pure solitude and privacy and enjoy the tranquil scenery. And, if you simply can't leave all of civilization behind, the cabin comes equipped with free high-speed, broadband wireless Internet access (Wifi). Be sure to visit Fern's Lake which is half a block away. Kids, bring your fishing poles! In winter, you can sled just steps behind the property. The clubhouse in the village offers many activities and amenities, including golf, an outdoor pool (open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but Covid-19 may keep the pool closed this season--we don't know yet), a bistro, and a recreation room for the children. Our guests receive use of four free guest passes for their entire stay. Mount Abel (Cerro Noroeste) and Mount Pinos (over 8000 feet) are nearby. Pine Mountain Club also offers a number of festivals throughout the year. The cabin sits at 5400 feet, so come and enjoy the snow in the winter, the bright blue skies and sunshine in the spring and summer, and the colors in autumn. You will not be disappointed.
It is quiet, safe, private, and so very peaceful.
  • Marilyn cabin is awesome, it was very clean and unique. The decorations inside of the cabin was amazing. The cabin is cozy for 8 persons. It has two patio decks and has a creek behind the cabin. The front yard was great to lounge and have the dogs run around. I recommend this location if you love the outdoors and want to enjoy nature. The host Marylin was great with communication and very informative about area. I have no complaints. I’ll book again soon!

    Shawn2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much Marilyn for letting our family experience your cabin. Words cannot express the beauty of the nature out their and the cabin itself. Great experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone

  • This is a great place to stay if you want to spend a quiet time! Marilyn is awesome! She’s very responsive and very helpful!

  • Best cabin I have ever lived! If you want to spend a cozy night far away from the hustle and bustle, this is the best place to choose. We would definitely book this cabin again if visiting this area in the future.

  • Marilyn’s cabin is amazing! It’s located in Los Padres National Forest, which made for such a gorgeous drive and rustic, peaceful environment. My boyfriend and I have a crazy schedule, and she was able to work with us and modify our booking so we could maximize our downtime together. The cabin is so cozy, and makes you feel right at home. We loved playing horseshoes in the yard, as well as playing the array of boardgames Marilyn provided. She also has an awesome DVD collection which we took advantage of! There’s an awesome general store nearby which provides a great variety of food (from snacks to healthy, fresh produce and meat). It was such a relaxing, memorable getaway and we can’t wait to return!

    Devin2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cabin. Very convenient location. Highly recommend!

    Cynthia2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Like so many other reviews, this cabin was definitely cozy!! Super cool decorations that leveled up the cabin vibes. Easy to find and not too close to neighboring cabins. A few minutes of a walk to the lake, it was 75% frozen so that was a sight to see. There's also this cool small stream that runs behind the cabin. The general store is like a minute drive away. Rooms heat up nice. Marilyn quickly responded to any questions I had. Highly recommend this cabin.

Cozy little chalet perfect for two. Fenced yard for dogs. Off street parking and much more.
Before I describe this great little place I should explain my cancellations back in January-March. There were some unexpected issues with my home and I needed to take care of them before I could allow my guests to stay. All is fine now and we are ready to begin hosting again. This little ’American Chalet’ is the perfect rustic, pet friendly space for a weekend getaway or a several day retreat. Its’ 700 sq ft (which is why we only allow 2 guests) boasts simplistic coziness perfect for a couples getaway or a single persons zen vacation. The fenced yard is big and perfect for dogs (3 dogs allowed only). The mountain scenery here is amazing and can also be seen from one of the big ceiling to floor windows in the living room and through the slider in the bedroom. This cabin has two decks. One deck overlooks the many beautiful pine trees in the front yard while the back deck has the biggest oak tree you’ve ever seen spreading over it. There is a pellet stove which is the main source of heat for the cabin but also a couple of space heaters for each room if needed. There is internet for your convenience but since we are so rural it is not high speed and streaming anything can be touchy. ...But after all ..you’re in nature so let it be. **During winter months road closures can happen during and after storms due to treacherous snow and ice and can either snow you in or snow you out of your vacation stay. **Chains will be required during these situations so you must have them in your vehicle when snow is on the ground. Summer time is a lot easier traveling. There is an adorable village here in Pine Mountain Club with a pizza place; general store; post office; Mexican restaurant; and a couple great pubs/eateries. There are numerous hiking/biking trails and a map is on the premises for your convenience.
Our mountain neighborhood is beautiful and rural. It is a quiet place and we all respect each other’s privacy and serenity.
  • Perfect small little getaway for a couple looking to get out of the city life and up into the forest and snow. Wendy is amazing and very helpful, and the place is the perfect little cozy cabin we were looking for!

  • Amazing host! Very open for conversation and giving local tips but also let us have our privacy. The studio was amazing, great amenities including a pellet stove and a two burner plate with pans. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to stay here again.

  • I have stayed at Jennifers a few times with my kiddo and we just love it. Jennifer goes above and beyond as a host. The space is so comfortable, clean, welcoming, and has every little thing we can thing of to make our stay great. We were there for a few days this time and enjoyed cooking full meals in the perfect kitchenette space, watching classic movies, and taking in the gorgeous views and super sweet doggies! My little one is somewhat afraid of dogs due to some bad experiences, and Jennifer's dogs make her feel so secure and playful and unafraid bc they are such good dogs. Jennifer is a gem of a host!

Come enjoy the fresh air, solitude and charming forest views at this lovely mountain cabin. It's the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The cabin is located in a secluded area surrounded by forest, mountains and backs up to a beautiful hiking trail that leads to a lake. This cabin is designed for comfort and relaxation. Enjoy watching the birds play from one of the hammocks or lounge on the deck as you enjoy the fresh air and mountain views as you fire up the grill.
***Covid-19 Update: Per local community rules, we are only accepting bookings for guests that: 1) are essential critical infrastructure and healthcare workers, 2) persons that require housing for Covid-19 isolation, quarantine or the housing for displaced persons.*** A truly rare find, one of the more secluded cabins in the area. Tucked away surrounded by forest and mountains on three sides and an empty lot on the other. The nearest cabin is over 100-ft away. There's a wonderful trail on the back side of the cabin that is perfect for hiking, nature watching or mountain biking. Grill up some BBQ on the deck or cook up a meal in the fully equipped kitchen. Stay toasty and set the mood by lighting up some logs in the rustic style fireplace. The record player is to enjoy some relaxing classical music or bring your own favorite records to play. Another option is to plug in your cell phone or mp3 player via aux cable. There are no TV's in the cabin, but who needs them when you have plenty of board games to play in the wooden treasure chest. For those that need to be connected, there is wifi in the cabin. The toddler playpen and toys are for your littlest ones to use. Smoking is Not Allowed anywhere on the property, including the cabin, deck or surrounding area.
Pine Mountain Club is a beautiful nature-loving community. The town is surrounded by gorgeous pine trees and is located in the Los Padres National Forest. There are several hiking trails and a waterfall to enjoy nearby. In the town center you will find several restaurants, bars, a gas station, general store and shops. It's very clean, friendly and peaceful up here.
  • Gerardos cabin is great for a weekend getaway. The beds and sheets felt clean and so did the rest of the home. It has a great location just a few minutes out from a few shops, and has plenty of hiking trails in the area. The fireplace is amazing and heats the cabin up almost right away.

    Taylor2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I loved the cabin! A great escape to recharge and relax. It was the easiest experience ever, a true vacation that took minimal planning. They cover it all! The cabin is labeled, organized and clean. The kitchen has everything you can think of. All it’s missing is a pizza pan we didn’t think of that when we decided to make homemade pizza. There was a cookie sheet which worked just as good! That’s just us though. Honestly fool proof. I never felt the need to reach out because they were on top of it. They email everything over before your trip and set up your personalized code so check in is a breeze. The ONLY things we thought of were a recycling bin. Couldn’t find one but it’s okay we made our own. Speaker remote was missing so we couldn’t connect via bluetooth, there was a used coffee filter left over from a previous guest which shame on that guest, no worries we just cleared it out. Games were run down but still enjoyed playing the giant connect four and games we had taken with us.

    Jasmine2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is beautiful and clean! There’s a record player with a lot of good music, the beds are comfortable, and the host attentive and responsive. Had a wonderful weekend here.

    Selena2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had such a wonderful stay at The Tranquil Mountain Escape! The cabin was so charming, and the perfect size for our family. The fireplace was beautiful and easy to use, the toy chest was filled with fun games to play, and we really enjoyed the turntable and incredible record selection. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals all day. We loved the outside hammock swings for relaxing and enjoying the quiet mountain air. The cabin is in the perfect location, close to the town center with a handful of quaint restaurants and a general store, and a close drive to a number of beautiful mountain hikes. We can’t wait to come back to visit again!

    Emily2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is lovely. The decorations and detailing are very sweet. The master bedroom bed is quite comfortable. And I appreciated that they had nice kitchenware. Good pots and pans and utensils. Made it easy and enjoyable to stay in and cook. Very close access to the Pine Mountain Club shops, but when you are at the cabin, it still feels nice and secluded.

    Shannon2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time at the cabin and everything is just as we remembered and the same as pictures. Hosts were great and responsive. Our kids had a blast and the chest of toys/games were a plus. Cabin has all the amenities you require. We would definitely recommend this tranquil mountain escape and look forward to our next visit.

    Lyly2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • A few friends and I spent a weekend at Gerardo’s cabin. The location was easy to find a spaced a very good distance from other cabins in the area. I was a little concerned about that, as I know that there many cabins in close proximity to each other, but that was not the case. One of the best clues on how things are going to go, with pretty much anyone you engage in a business transaction, is how easy it is to communicate with them. Gerardo was a cinch and a pleasure to deal with. He was even willing to call and speak with me verbally and that went smoothly as well. He accommodated a couple different special requests I made and did so without a hassle. Check-in and entry was super easy and straightforward. We were able to select our own entry code and all guests were able to enter at will, without an problem. The cabin itself was super clean and cozy. Many thoughtful little touches can be found, throughout, everywhere you look. Plenty of space, but not cold and cavernous. Cozy really is the best word. Only about a mile from club facilities, a trip out to dinner was a short trip. The WiFi worked well and was solid enough to send pictures and video without much delay. We never experienced buffering or breaks in connection, which is always nice. Overall, our experience was outstanding and I’d have zero hesitation to book another stay. I would highly recommend staying at their cabin for a quiet, relaxing retreat.

  • This cabin was perfect. The hosts were very quick to respond to questions. There were so many thoughtful additions, like the giant bin of toys. It is a great place to stay with kids. Pine mountain is lovely.

  • The cabin is beautiful, cozy and eclectic. We really enjoyed our stay here. There's not much to do in pine mountain when it's snowy but there's a small bar in town called The Perch that has good food and a country vibe. Paula and her husband were great hosts because they communicated well before the trip and were very responsive when we had questions. We would definitely stay at Paula's place again.

Hosts are very considerate, accommodating to all needs, and highly pleasant people to interact with. Our cozy modern mountain cabin with woodstove sleeps 4 comfortably! Relax on 2 sunny decks with mountain views. Serene surroundings. Wifi and bbq provided. Enjoy a gourmet kitchen and access to golfing, hiking and tennis. Village is 2 miles away and accessible through a local trail as well as via the roads.
Cozy modern mountain cabin in the Los Padres National Forest just 45 minutes from Bakersfield and 75 minutes from the San Fernando Valley. Pine Mountain is one of Southern California's best-kept secrets--a small alpine village with a four-season climate. We have light snow in the Winter, spectacular wildflowers in Spring, and gorgeous Fall colors. It's a wonderful getaway—and yet so close! Our two-story home is located on a quiet street at 5771 feet. Lovely pine ceilings throughout the cabin contribute to the warm ambience. The 1000 sq. ft. interior is furnished in a modern style with a leather sofa and some cool abstract art on the walls. The living room has a wood stove and 50" smart HDTV with direct satellite & Blu Ray DVD. A skylight in the living room brings in lots of light. The master bedroom (queen bed) is separate from the downstairs and reached via a spiral staircase leading up to French doors. The master bathroom adjoins the bedroom and has a skylight over the double length tiled shower. A second bedroom downstairs has a day bed with trundle. There is air conditioning in the living room as well as in the upstairs bedroom and 2 fans are provided-- although generally temps are not above 85 degrees on a hot day and generally drop into the 60's in the evening. Upper and lower decks offer lovely views of Mt. Pinos and the San Emigdio range. Relax on the sunny decks or in the Adirondack chair near the pond surrounded by pine trees. Plan to do some bbqing--it is so pleasant to do some grilling on the upper deck bbq and dine outdoors. Our cabin is clean and well-kept. It can comfortably accommodate 4 people--but from October to early December the smaller guest bedroom will have a full size mattress but not in a bedframe-- I am awaiting replacement of a murphy bed arriving in early December. So you must not mind having a mattress on the floor. PLEASE no smoking or pets! The jacuzzi is not included as an amenity due to drought restrictions on water. Mt. Pinos has the best view of the stars in So. California—star parties are common whenever there is a new moon. In addition, since we are in the Padres National Forest - wildlife (deer, raccoons, bobcat, fox, bunnies, squirrels, quail, stellar and scrub jays) abounds. Rare California Condor preserve located on Cerro Noroeste Road (main road through town) approximately 15 miles west. We have an extraordinary number of sunny days—it is rare to have a gloomy day. Since SNOW may be present during cooler months be sure to carry chains. Our roads are well-maintained but the CHP is strict about safety when snow is possible. Sledding awaits at Mt. Pinos just 15-20 minutes away, GREAT for cross-country skiing and snow-play destination! The local Village Commercial Center is 2 miles away and offers access to a market, gift shops, several restaurants, ice cream store, laundromat and a spa. There are lots of hiking trails nearby as well as a fishing pond! Mount Abel and Mt. Pinos are nearby offering cross country skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer. Fishing is available at Fern's Lake which is just a mile away. Horseback riding is available in the summer. Or simply relax on the deck and enjoy the fresh mountain air-- you won't want to leave! It is very peaceful to spend a few days here-- and also comfortable. We LOVE being here with time to read, hike, relax.....did I mention slowing down and enjoying life? BREATHE!
Pine Mountain Club is called the "nearby faraway place" because it is a little piece of heaven not so far from Los Angeles. We have the best "star parties" in So. California on a new moon. Great hiking and a host of other activities (e.g. fishing, gold, tennis, cycling) are available for those who love the outdoors.
  • Beautiful, serene location. Great host, homey cabin with everything you need to get comfortable with thoughtful touches.

  • This place exceeds expectations. All the cooking supplies are top notch. The views are excellent, the house is well decorated, the woodstove is state of the art and pumps out tons of heat. An amazing place. And Debra is the amazing host that puts the whole experience over the top.

    Cole2020-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • I love this place. First of all, I don't think the pictures do it justice. Its really a well thought out and very comfortable place. All the details have been thought of, from kitchen amenities to how to hook an HDMI to their tv to what hikes to take to wonderful sheets and pillows ... its all really up to date and beautiful. I love the deck for enjoying a meal or watching the stars. The nearby hikes are beautiful. Its really perfect for a romantic getaway and would also be great for a family or two couple sharing a place.

  • A delight in every respect. An exquisite place to be and savor the mountains and sky and stars. The cabin is wonderful--sunny, lovely deck, nestled in trees up on the ridge, with a first class Wolf gas range and oven, lovely wood stove, every extra you would want in the kitchen, softest cotton sheets on the bed. We felt completely at home. The area is wild and you truly feel a thousand miles from LA. We loved the hiking trails. We give it 1000 stars!

  • Debra’s cabin is a wonderful spot to get away. The views are great, the mountain air is crisp and refreshing, and when very cold, the wood stove and on-site firewood is perfect. We cooked every meal in the cabin (on a Wolf range no less), and it was awesome to just hunker down and relax. We highly recommend this place - quiet and comfortable.

WE ARE TAKING EXTRA PRECAUTIONS FOR COVID-19. MESSAGE US FOR MORE INFO. Built in 1972, The Maplewood is lovingly maintained by Los Angeles residents, Jenna and Michael. We use the cabin for creative retreats, to relax, recharge, and spend time with family and friends. Come be surrounded by original works of art and enjoy total quiet––just a five minute walk to nature trails. The Maplewood is a great place to unwind and find inspiration before your next big project!
The cabin was previously known as "Waffles and Wildlife Watching" on Airbnb. As new owners, we've kept much the same, while bringing some of our own personality into the space. Enjoy our Danish and mid-century modern inspired cabin, with art and nature accents that exude cozy vibes and unlock creativity. Our 2-story A-Frame features uniquely canted lower walls that create an open and airy feel. The kitchen, dining, and living rooms all have large windows that overlook mountains and a private, tree-filled yard. Upstairs, you will find a master bedroom and full bathroom. Downstairs, there are 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a washer and dryer. The cabin is fully equipped with everything you need: fresh towels, linens, multiple methods of coffee and tea making (vital, we know), and all of the essential cookware. If you like to cook, our website has custom recipes created by LA chefs specifically for this cabin. The Maplewood comes with a personal concierge who can help you find all of the ingredients you need for a great dinner with friends. We will put you in touch with her after booking. Pine Mountain Club is super remote, peaceful, and quiet. We have spent a lot of time up here and created a custom, private trail guide––the “secret” local hikes that you can walk to from the cabin. You will feel like you are miles away, but in fact it's just a 4 minute walk to all of the local restaurants. --- CABIN RULES --- Must climb stairs - 5 stairs to get into the cabin and 11 stairs to the master bedroom Security Deposit - if you damage the cabin, you may be charged up to $350 Not suitable for children (2-12 years) Not suitable for infants No pets allowed No smoking, parties, or events Self check-in with keypad - No music or loud talking outside past 10PM. The mountain is tranquil and sounds carry. - No open fires outdoors allowed anywhere on Pine Mountain due to wildfires - No food can be left outside, in cars, or in the open. No one wants bears, right? Smoking lingers, so please don't do it on the property. Smoking indoors or near open doors and windows will result in a partial or full forfeit of your security deposit. This is also a FIRE HAZARD and cannot be tolerated. --- PETS --- We love pets a whole lot, but they are not allowed in the cabin. It's easy to determine when guests have pets on premise because 99% of the time, pets have resulted in property damage. For this reason, we no longer allow pets on the property and part or all of the security deposit may be withheld if violated. --- CELL SERVICE --- Cell service is not the best, but if you have Verizon, it'll work well. We have high speed wifi, and personally we use “wifi calling”. We both work from home and phone calls are essential for us––this has always worked great. Wifi calling works with nearly all recently updated smart phones.
Just 70 miles north of Los Angeles, Pine Mountain Club is a secluded community nestled in the Los Padres National Forest, in the valley between San Emigdio Mountain and Sawmill Mountain. The cabin sits at an elevation of 5016 feet, just a short walk to numerous hiking trails and the Pine Mountain Club village center. Known as a creative getaway for Los Angeles locals, the community is quiet and the night sky is full of stars. Pine Mountain Club has a distinct 4 seasons (including snowy winters!) and is a year round community.
  • Cozy and well thought-out space. Appreciated being able to get away from the city for the weekend. Hosts are responsive and helpful.

  • Jenna’s cabin is so cozy! It really is the perfect getaway in the woods. The decor, style and ambience is superb. I would definitely come back again. Jenna was also the perfect host, and super helpful throughout our stay.

  • This cabin is absolutely wonderful and my boyfriend and I really enjoyed our escape to this beautiful area. So many incredible trails nearby! The cabin is filled with natural light, trendy decor, sparkling clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything you may need. Highly recommend for anyone looking to escape into nature and feel comfortable while doing so! Jenna is a wonderful host, quick to respond and provides great recommendations of which trails to explore nearby. Thank you for a lovely stay!

  • This place is so cute and such a nice getaway! Jenna was an amazing host, strongly recommend this place. We loved playing board games by the fire

  • Jenna and Michaels cabin was excellent. They have crafted a cute little getaway super close to Los Angeles. The property feels mountainous, but still close enough to walk to the local bakery/coffee shop and the local watering hole which serves cold drinks and great food. Truly a relaxing getaway. Would definitely recommend the local hiking as well- appreciated the guidebook on which trials to pursue. Thanks and hope to see the Maplewood again soon. -John.

  • This cabin is the perfect retreat: it’s close enough to town to walk over for coffee and pastries, but secluded enough to only hear birds and see the trees and mountains (the view from the master bedroom is incredible). There are a ton of hikes within walking distance of the house, which made the location absolutely perfect for us. The cabin is peaceful, cozy, and modern. We loved the pellet-burning fireplace; the beds and linens were comfortable and the kitchen is fully stocked. We will definitely be back!

    Megan2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a restful, well-designed space that was exactly what I needed. You can tell the hosts really put thought into your experience by paying attention to all the details. The kitchen has all the tools you need, there are places to put your bag/clothes, and there's amazing art throughout the cabin. In general the space has nice design touches but is still uncluttered for you to clear your mind and focus (some cabins are chock full of tchotchkes). I really appreciated the well-curated simplicity of the space. It was super clean and well-maintained. Pine Mountain itself is a hidden gem! So many beautiful hikes and nice scenery - and so quiet! Can't wait to go back!

  • This place is AMAZING! The pictures don’t do it justice. The views are unreal. The inside of the cabin is so beautiful and cozy too! I went with a groups of friends for the weekend and we had the best time! A great place to relax and get away. Martha was such a great and helpful host. She and Ani were very quick to respond to any questions and were very accommodating! They helped us to have the best experience. This place has everything you can think of from cooking supplies to games! We will definitely be coming back. I highly recommend if you are looking for a little getaway to relax and enjoy nature’s best!

  • I’m not even sure where to start with this incredible space, we were so gutted to leave behind the beautiful view we woke up to every morning. The space was beautifully decorated and everything had been thought through. Martha had even privately messaged before hand with ideas on local hikes for us. The place was easy to check in to and the area itself was wonderful to get to see and within 90 minutes to downtown LA. Thanks so much Martha, I know a few of us will be planning our own trips just to come back here.

  • Lovely home in quiet mountain setting. We appreciated the giant windows and had plenty of room for our family. Very nice visit. A few notes that may help others: - We weren’t quite sure what to expect for the bedroom layout from the description. On the main level, there are 2 bedrooms (1 with a queen bed, 1 with 2 twin beds) and a hallway full bathroom. Upstairs, there is a large bedroom with 2 queens and attached full bathroom. We also saw a twin rollaway and a twin daybed that could potentially be used as beds upstairs. Note: you have to walk up a fair number of stairs to get from outside to the main level so make sure your group is able to do this. - Our Subaru did just fine with the driveway. If you are visiting in winter, you’ll probably want all wheel drive for the rest of the mountain roads anyway. - Make sure you sort your trash and individual recycling items as you go. You’ll need to take it to the transfer station on your way out of town and put individual items in the right places (brown glass in the brown glass bin etc). Some of you are probably thinking “of course!” but most of our group hadn’t ever seen anything like this. - Make sure you have directions with you (no cell service and it took a little while to get the WiFi working) - There were plenty of blankets and pillows. Definitely nice for a house like this! Overall, a great place to stay.

  • We loved our stay here. So peaceful and layed back and cozy, with a beautiful view. Such a lovely house, and Kate was very nice, just a straight up good decent person like the type that everybody hopes to be one day. Stay here for a time of unwinding and spiritual renewal.

    Aaron2018-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Kate's cottage was my home away from home for just over 3 months as I settled into Southern California--having previously spent my entire life on the east coast. This is quaint cottage in a secluded mountain town, providing the essentials and beautiful surrounding scenery. Though not particularly close to any metropolitan area, Frazier is a rather central location for day trips throughout the transverse mountain ranges, the coast, LA, Bakersfield, and the Antelope Valley areas. With standard kitchen appliances, cookware, a nice shower, and both a washer and drier, Kate's private cottage provided for easy living. Do be aware that the faucets in the bathroom are reversed (hot/cold) and that there is no fan above the stove. If staying for a while, be sure to take the time to get to know Kate--perhaps during a lesson on the pottery wheel--as she is truly a wonderfully fascinating individual!

    Jake2018-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Kate is a wonderful host and the place is located really close to restaurants and grocery stores. Really enjoyed the the fire pit in the front yard and our dogs enjoyed being there as well.

  • Kate's place was an amazing value. Great location to walk to everything in the village. Kate is a thoughtful host and was easy to communicate with. Would recommend to anyone looking for an easy place to stay in the area.

    Anna2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Kate’s! Perfect location right between LA and SF. We look forward to staying there again soon!

    Meesh2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a unique experience, look no further. Kate's place is absolutely unforgettable. You will experience Frazier Park's beautiful mountain town in a quirky and cute cottage with Kate's wonderful chickens and amazing wild peacocks (when they feel like making an appearance). It is steps away from an awesome organic coffee shop (the soy blended snicker doodle was great) and in walking distance to The Red Dot which is my new favorite place for dining (a vegetarian/vegan's paradise). Also there's everything you need for cooking your own meals. The best part is Kate herself and her workshop. She is an artist and offers pottery and glass fusion, don't miss this part! I also met her daughter who is also a talented artist and their adorable chicken "Sophie" who likes to make an appearance in the workshop when Kate holds classes. I had a wonderful time and I recommend Kate's unique place.

  • We had the most wonderful stay in Frazier Park with Kate and her family! They are the most friendly and hospitable hosts we have ever met on Airbnb. The cozy cottage provides a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city, with a picturesque vantage point to see the mountain from the front porch. Stargazers will love how it gets pitch dark at night, and the sky comes alive with celestial views. We felt right at home. :)
