Stay at safe and clean place during your stay in Kathmandu! Lazimpat is popular residential area for both foreign and wealthy local people because of its very clean, convenient and safe environment. The city center, Durbar Marg and Thamel, is all located in walking distance. Convenient location, safe area, super clean house with beautiful garden and good foods, any reason to hesitate? ;)
  • Nice place conveniently located above a cafe and walking distance from many locations in Katmandu. Really enjoyed the small breakfasts and nice soft mattresses.

  • Beautiful quiet location, hard to find in Kathmandu! A short walk from Thamel and city centre. Beds were very comfortable, clean and staff were very friendly.

  • I really enjoyed the room, hospitality and amenities. The whole place has a unique charm. Service was excellent, the room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast exceeded my expectations. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Bedding were super high quality, staff were excellent. Breakfast was great. location was a bid far for tourists.

  • Set in beautifully tranquil Lazimpat, the guesthouse is a haven in the mania that's continually produced by Kathmandu's boisterous core. It's been tastefully assembled with thought and consideration given to even the simplest of aesthetic design touches, starting with the gardens and ending with the bedrooms - it's a chic establishment, both inside and out. The food is great - clean, wholesome and tasty, the staff friendly and the ambiance relaxed. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • Great host, save and silent location. Very delicious breakfast Clean and extraordinary place :) Good communication !

    Marcus2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely lovely! My room was very comfortable and warm. I was a bit under the weather for most of my stay here so it was a great cozy place to hang out in. The restaurant attached is delicious and the staff are all stellar. I would definitely stay here again and have already given the recommendation to my parents who are planning a visit out to Nepal. One last thing-it’s incredibly quiet which seems impossible with all the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. Love it!

Enjoy this very comfortable flat, quietly nested between two quiet courtyards, just off Swotha Square and Patan Durbar sq. right in the heart of the beautiful historical Patan. It is a very romantic cocoon or just a wonderful base to explore the area. Perfect as well for a consulting mission (big desk)
Charming and comfortable renovated apartment in a wonderfully located and soulful Newari House. Double bed, spacious bathroom, storage space, equipped kitchen, working space… Located inside Yatachhen house, one of the first successful conservation project of Newari architecture in the Old patan. The house has been entirely renovated/ rebuilt 10 years ago with modern anti seismic method and the addition of concrete belts to assure extreme security in case of earthquake. It has paid off as the house didn't suffer of a single crack/ damage during the last earthquake that hit Nepal in April 2015. Amenities: • Kitchen: fridge, 4 ring hobs, oven, crockery, pots and pan • Attached bathroom with hot shower from storage geyser and WC • Storage space with closets and cupboards • Desk/ working space area • Electricity backup for all-day power supply • Heater in winter • Free WIFI • Set of towels and linens changed every week • Cleaning every day • Electronic Safety Locker for storing your valuable items. Yatachhen House literally means "living in Harmony"... give it a try!
The Old Patan is a fantastic area to stay in. It is much more authentic and traditional than the tourist-spoiled places of Kathmandu/ Thamel and its concrete jungle. There are many hidden treasures to discover: hindu temples everywhere, Buddhist stupas, courtyards, secret paths, monasteries, local food spots... The vibrant local life of the Newars (the original ethnic group of the Kathmandu Valley) guarantees you a very rich cultural experience.
  • I fell in love with this place the minute I saw the pictures online. It was even better to be there itself. Really glad I chose this location in Kathmandu. Wished I would have stayed more nights here. Look no further, Cosy Nepal really gives you the cosy feeling. They really put in a lot of effort into the guidebook as well which I loved as I do not have to really plan on where to eat and go while I was there! Everything is laid out for you in a booklet. Thank you Nigen, Sohan & Sailesh for the great hospitality too. They were kind enough to let me check out late on my last day before I fly off.

  • Great location and communication. Clean beautiful place with traditional Newari architecture. The best thing of my stay was the hospitality provided by the team at Cosy Nepal. Thank you....

  • A very good address, ideally located in Patan, quiet in a perfectly clean and cozy accommodation! The team on site is welcoming, charming and a wealth of good addresses at your disposal. We really enjoyed our stay and thank you again for the welcome!

  • The house is right next to Patanduba Square. It is very close to the two-bedroom we booked, but it actually consists of a small room plus a similar studio location. If you live with family or friends of the same sex, there is no problem. It ’s a bit inconvenient for people who are not very close or two families. The room is beautiful and clean, with electric heaters. There is also a mini open kitchen.

  • A first visit to Kathmandu, I wasn't sure what to expect as far as accommodations. The Cosynepal properties are such a diamond in the rough. From their friendly pick up service at the airport which drives you right to their front door, to the exceptional housekeeping who do an amazing job, to the staff that feel more like welcoming friends. Let me tell you, the house dogs featuring Yohni, the two Rotties, the puppies and and little white fluffy girl named Puhn Dar, they have become part of my Nepal story and I cherish the time I got to spend with them each and every day. Waking up to the sounds of dogs below and hearing the temple and shrine bells, you can't put a price on something like that. Truly beautiful experience. Sidenote: If Puhn Dar ever needs a home, and isn't afraid to travel I would absolutely love to adopt her and take her home with me. Seriously!!! LOVE her!!! Also a couple things worth mentioning, Wifi was spotty or completely down 3 of the 5 nights I was there. Not the biggest deal in the world, but I try to keep my reviews as honest as I can. Positives also worth mentioning that I have not yet, super water pressure, great hot water, great bed, also liked the shared kitchen space with complimentary washing machine. Yep, you shouldn't hesitate with this one. It's truly a one of a kind.

  • This was a great spot for my family of four, a four year old and two month old. Great access to Lalitpur neighborhood, still easy to Kathmandu and Bakhtapor. Great hosts and one of our favorite AirBnb rentals we've stayed.

Bright and airy two independent rooms’ unit located in front of Kulimha Temple, one minute walk from UNESCO site Patan Durbar Square. Composed of a living room/equipped kitchen and a separate bedroom/study space. Private bathrooms with hot water in both living room and bedroom. This unit is located on the 3rd floor, It is amazingly comfortable and homy. It has view over a garden on the bedroom side (very rare in Patan!!), and over a temple on living room side.
Located in a very authentic and beautiful area, just 100 meters north of UNESCO world heritage Patan Durbar Square Type : 2 independent rooms: a kitchen/living room and a separate bedroom/study room - each with its own bathroom Neighbourhood : Old Patan – Kulimha (next to Newa Chhen and Image Ark and 100 meters away from Patan Durbar Square) Volume : 35m2 Accommodate 1 to 3 people (!! bed of 1m40)- The living room can eventually be turned into a bedroom. Bedroom(s) : 1 Bathroom(s) : 2 Kitchen / Living room : Yes This unit is super lovely, very bright and quiet but it is important to note that the kitchen is totally independent from the bedroom (on the threshold/ common staircase, there is two separate door: living room/ bathroom on the left- Bedroom / bathroom on the right). Some loves that because it is like having a whole floor for one's self and separate spaces are sometimes great when sharing an apartment . But it is worth mentioning as some people could find it weird ;-) Amazing location! • Situated in the heart of Patan historical city center (Kulimha Tole) • Less than 100m away from UNESCO Durbar Square and Golden Temple • 500m away from Patan Dhoka (Patan’s gate) • 20 min ride from Airport • view over a temple in one side and a garden from the other side
You can't find more authentic and traditional neighbourhood; Once you have discover the old Patan, you will never want to stay in Thamel again! When staying in this part of town (part of the UNESCO world heritage sites) you are surrounded by Hindu temples, Buddhist stupas, monasteries , local food spots and hidden courtyards with secret paths. • This flat was perfect to enjoy Kathmandu and be able to relax at night and cook a nice dinner. The space it's super comfortable and the kitchen is really well equipped which is great if you prefer cooking (we do) rather than eating out every day. The area is really nice, full of temples and nice little streets. We definitely recommend this place!

  • The location is ideal. Moments from Patan Durbar Square, with plenty of great little cafes, shops and local eateries close by. Staff were lovely and incredibly quick at responding to communications. Housekeeping staff did a fab job, and always wished me "namaste" with a smile. Apartment is well represented by photos in listing.

They provide a brochure full of helpful local tips and were great about answering questions. The staff are all very friendly and made me feel at home. The location was perfect for exploring Patan on foot. Highly recommended! I would happily stay here again.

  • This house is beautifully designed and right in the middle of Patan so everything you need is very close by. I didn't interact with the staff much but when I did they were super helpful and on my last day after checking-out they let me use a shower (it was hot) before a long overnight flight. They also arranged a taxi to the airport (and didn't overcharge me!). This is the only place I would stay if I came back to Patan.

  • We truly enjoy this apartment and the excellent service every year. It’s our little home away from home and we plan to come and stay for longer periods of time. It was perfect for our family (my husband, my son and me) and convenient in every way. Again, we appreciate the fast and excellent service, the beauty and tranquility of the place in the heart of Patan and the proximity to everything that is important and interesting. Even the “trips” to Thamel are easy and fast by taxi from Patan. But Patan has so much to offer in terms of beauty, history, spirituality and authenticity and this is why we stay there again and again. The small charming fully equipped apartment (on two flors with a wonderful external kitchen, balcony and terrace) is placed in the inner courtyard. This gives it an amazing tranquility and intimacy while at the same time you have an easy accès to the heart of Patan and Durbar Square as well as the restaurants and stores within few minutes walking distance. Thank you, we will be back next year in March! Lidija Segon

  • Our stay in the heart of old Patan was amazing! The beautiful apartment was clean and nicely equipped and situated in an authentic Newari style courtyard. The recommendations what to do in Patan were fun and very useful. And last but not least the cozy Nepal team running the apartment was truly amazing. They are super friendly and really care for their guests. They even helped us to find a driver to the Indian border within minutes. We highly recommend to book your stay with cozy Nepal!! Thank you!

  • We loved our stay. Everything was top notch from the space to the local area. *Highly recommended* It was the perfect alternative to a hotel, we felt so cozy and free to spread out and not look at our backpacks for a little while. Thank you again.

  • The Duplex in the courtyard is absolutely great. In the backyard away from the busy street and still close to the absolute center of Patan. The apartment itself is really nice and to those who might think about this; The mattress was really good, not too soft and not too hard. We enjoyed having the courtyard, the kitchen and the apartment in general. The location is great, close to both sights, restaurants and everyday life. If you want to visit maybe Thamel it is only a cab ride away. We will any day prefer this area over tourist busy Thamel. Sailesh and the other people we met in connection to the apartment were all extremely friendly and helpful, you need anything, help and advice is close. Communication also worked really well when we sent emails. All in all : We can highly recommend this place.

    Vibeke2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, beautiful as in the photos, lots of little touches (flowers, coffee, soap, tips booklet,...). Staff is super helpful and friendly. We even had a chance to wash some clothes, which was much needed after trekking. We had a lovely stay!

  • Awesome apartment in a beautiful and quiet old town of Patan. The hosts were super helpful and arranged airport pickup/drop off for us, left luggage, SIM car rental and really good local recommendations (don't miss Yala restaurant, just at the door's step). This is simply furnished penthouse with private terrace garden in our three storied house. Staying at our place is living like locals. We are located in central Kathmandu with easy access to transportation, stores, heritage sites & tourist center Thamel (5 mints walk). We adopt eco-friendly ways and our place is relatively green and quiet tucked in the lane off the main street. Most houses in the neighborhood are of relatives making it more local, family friendly and welcoming.
This is studio apartment has private balcony with garden. It has got en-suite bathroom and toilet. The apartment has got double-bed, 1 private bath (solar-heated shower and toilet), 1 clothes closet, 1 furnished kitchenette with sink, small refrigerator, cabinet space, and 1-burner stove. Perfect for single person. Kitchenette has necessary utensils, toaster, tea maker, rice cooker. The property is in the residential area in 'Rayamajhi Marg'. Banks, grocery stores and local transportation are all in easy access. The neighborhood is relatively quiet as there are houses of relatives and it is off the main road. The apartment for rental is in the top floor of the 3 stories building with great view and private balcony. We are 2 km from world heritage sites of Kathmandu Durbar Square (south) and Swyambhunath Stupa (west). The popular restaurants and bars of Thamel (tourist center) are in walking distance. Nagarjuna forest. 2.5 km north of the apartment makes a pleasant day hike. We are trying to live eco-friendly way by composting, rain water harvest and roof top gardening, reducing and reusing. We have compost bin for bio-degradable waste which we can use in flowers and few fruit trees we have. The shower water is headed by solar and the passage and street lights are also out of solar panel. We are self sufficient in water for about 5 months collecting rain water with filter. For rest of the year we buy water in a tanker. Kathmandu has huge crisis of water. There are shopping bag to reduce use of plastic bags. We also provide 20 littler drinking water jar which is refillable to reduce small plastic bottles. So staying guests can refill their bottles.
We are registered with Nepal government as homestay. This is like living among locals and best if you are looking for alternate to hotels, want to experience local culture and experience local lifestyle.
  • Very good place to stay in Kathmandu if you want to experience a local vibe. Kopila is really responsive with all communications.

  • checked on the bucket list, staying in a penthouse. it was a lovely experience to be hosted by Kopila and her family. my room on the terrace (top of the world) was clean and tidy, had all the amenities you could need, a few for instance, warm running water, your cooking space, a bookshelf and a really handy computer table. With so much of natural light coming into the room, It was an amazing experience to wake up to the rising sun. i would highly recommend this listing and it would be my go to for my next trip to nepal. I had the opportunity to interact with Koplia and her family regularly and would like to thank them for all their help and kindness during my stay

  • I loved staying here! Kopila and her family made me feel very welcome—they started the visit with masala tea with the family and offered a family breakfast, too. Kopila’s husband Ravi also gave me lots of great local tips and walked me to Thamel so I wouldn’t get lost. (It’s just a short walk there.) They also responded very quickly to messages. The view from the balcony is nice and the kitchen has everything you’d need for a long-term stay. Thank you for a lovely stay!

  • The cottage is located in very beautiful areas. I enjoyed the lovely mornings and the splendid view. Gagan and his family are very friendly and helpful. I will definitely recommend if you like to be in an isolated authentic place. I wil come back!

  • We absolutely loved our stay at Gagan's cottage. The location is perfect if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We stayed for 12 days (probably longer than most) and Gagan made sure we had everything we needed. He delivered water, dinners and cleaning services were provided. Gagan arranged our pickup and drop off at the airport and all in all was really helpful in helping us find our way. The view is incredible and faces the Kathmandu valley and it gets the perfect amount of sun in the morning. The cottage is lovely and our stay was absolutely perfect.

  • If you’re staying in Kathmandu, Gagan’s place is a must! Due to an issue with the water tank, Gagan moved us to his bigger cottage in the same area so we did not end staying at this exact place. What I will say is pack your things in a backpack as there is a trek to the cottage. Gagan has WiFi and hot water! Gagan and his family are extremely hospitable, setting up everything that we wanted to do, giving us tips and even running up groceries to us from their store or even free pain killers for my headaches. From the village (which I believe is about a 10 minute walk from this cottage), you can take a bus or taxi to Thamel which is only about 30 minutes. My friend and I, 24 & 28, loved the scenic, peaceful and serene location of Gagan’s cottage. Staying with Gagan also allows you to get to know Nepali people and culture. We were greeted by the same faces regularly. Due to the ease of getting to Kathmandu central and the hospitality of Gagan and his family, I will be staying here again when I’m back in Kathmandu.

  • Beautiful views from a cottage on the edge of the city. Gagan will deliver food to you on the nights you don't feel like going out. Hot water wasn't as hot as I'm used to, so bring baby wipes. Walk up the hill from where the car has to park can be a little tiring, but if you're fit enough for it, it's worth it. 100% worth a stay. If I find myself in Kathmandu again, I will be getting the same cottage.

  • excellent cottage with panoramic view of Kathmandu valley.. very helpful host and very well stocked cottage. a bit far from commercial area but very quite and peaceful.

  • Exciting place. Well, except roads being still built . One of the best location and view to the valley and so peaceful as ever .. calm and beautiful

  • It’s really good view, good house and good hiking! We ordered food from Gagan, it was very tasty. We had two perfect days in this house!

  • Gagan's place was a piece of paradise not too far from the city center. High in the hills, you have a beautiful view overlooking the city. We especially loved the bathtub and green plants everywhere. Bed was very comfortable and Gagan even provides a food delivery service for a fee which was extra nice considering his cottage is a bit far from provisions -- and we were exhausted. He also brought us eggs, toast and coffee for breakfast. He was a very kind soul and I'd love to stay here again. Highly recommend!!!

Dar Kumari’s Homestay is nestled on the side of a mountain considered sacred to many Nepalese, yet they’ve somehow kept this gem hidden from the mainstream tourist and trekking community. Looking for a true village experience please read our reviews
Although some foreign travellers hear about Panchase, most take the bus directly to the top of the mountain and bypass dozens of spectacular villages dotted along the way. Staying at Dar Kumari’s homestay you will be one of the few travellers to reach beyond the Pokhara tourist bubble and connect with the generous, vibrant and earthly Gurung people as you are welcomed into their community at the foothills of the Himalaya. Dar Kumari’s family have two rooms with three beds available in each private, upstairs bedroom of their two story traditional mudhouse. As the village is relatively untouched by tourism, there are no restaurants or shops nearby. However all meals are included in the cost of the room and Dar Kumari will serve you more food than most people are ever able to eat! Most of what you will find on your plate has come from within 300 metres of their house and the rice from the area is reputed to be some of the best in Nepal. We can accommodate up to six persons as we have two private rooms available with three beds in each. For more than three people, please visit our second listing titled: Village Homestay Panchase - Pokhara - Room 2
Dar Kumari’s Homestay is nestled on the side of a mountain considered sacred to many Nepalese, yet they’ve somehow kept this gem hidden from the mainstream tourist and trekking community. With twin Buddhist and Hindu temples on the peak and a spectacular view of the Annapurna range, Panchase mountain attracts spiritual pilgrims and, once a year, party revellers for the annual Gurung picnic festival.
  • i had a really wonderful time in Rabindra’s home :)

  • A total immersion in a Nepalese family which welcomes you generously in its daily life and makes you a beautiful place in their family. You will be largely nourished by "Ama" who will ensure that you will not miss anything during your stay. Coming here you should be aware that you will be in an isolated place, totally free from mass tourism (and therefore to be preserved) and that western comfort will be very limited. You have to go there for a natural desire, to discover the real life of this village. We lived there one of our most beautiful human travel experiences and the family of rabindra will remain forever in our hearts. Do not give anything to the children (no candy or money) so as not to encourage begging (even if it sometimes hurts your heart to say no) because it does not help anyone. You can however bring school supplies for the school located in the village.

  • Staying with Rabindra and his family was a truly unique experience. I felt very welcome to their home and community. It’s a very very small village in the mountains with very few habitants and being the tourist there is the exception! Once need to go with open mind and flexible to experience the difference from western and modern world. The house is full of caracter, the room co for table and calm with view to the mountains and sunrise. Food is super tasty with truly organic products from the land. Everything is basic but made with love and caring and you can feel the flavour of it! Even though the family doesn’t speak English (apart of Rabinda), we found ways to communicate and understand each other. No hot shower, no western toilet, no WiFi ... but you have all you need. I had a great time and was the best experience in Nepal!

  • As eager as i was for this stay, i dint wanted to leave. I dont have enough words for Amma :') I was so overwhelmed leaving the place that i couldn't hold back tears. 2 nights with the family especially Amma, helping her in the kitchen, eating and drinking together made me feel like a part of the family. The village itself is soooooo beautiful, waking up to the beautiful view of the sunrise and the clouds is just mesmerizing. Best part of my 2 nights stay was having 10 hours of peaceful sleep. Starting the day at 6 am and going to bed at 8 pm is not a life we get to enjoy in the city. Just looking them do their daily chores is entertaining. The whole family leaves no stones unturned to make you feel loved. I have so much gratitude for the hospitality, it was a once in a lifetime experience. Please give it a try if you are around Pokhara. PS. : I'd advice to hire a car/jeep from pokhara .

  • I stayed with Ma and Rabindra for a few days and I must say that I was touched by all the love and care. Ma kept feeding me with delicious meals (fresh veggies plucked the same day which are all grown organically in their farm) and Raksi to keep warm. The house is in the mountains and has b’ful view of Annapurna range. If you are one of the star gazers, don’t miss to step out once all the lights are switched off. It’s heaven. I wish I had more days to stay with them but would be back again. Definitely recommend.

  • Truly a treasure, Rabindra and his family are such a pleasure to stay with. If you are looking for the true Nepal experience, this is the place. Rest after your trek or have a peaceful retreat from the busy city. My girlfriend and I enjoyed it very much and we wish we had stayed longer!

    Frederik2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • The most amazing place I have stayed in Nepal. Ravindran and his family are so open and friendly and made us feel part of the family. The village is even more beautiful then I could have imagined. The food is simple incredible!!!! And the tea was delicious and always seemed to arrive just as we needed it (and that a big compliment for to Brists) Quick tip for walking there, if you follow the road it takes just over an hour and some beautiful place to stop and take in the view. There is the option to take the steps just after the big waterfall, they are faster but little steep. We walked down them which was a good option.

    Luci2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • My stay was everything I had hoped for! If you want an authentic Nepal experience (like I did), living with a sweet family, please stay here. You won’t regret it. The lovely room provided was so cozy and the views were absolutely beautiful. I felt like I was in heaven. I was fed so much delicious organic food and always provided with water and black tea. I’ve never ate so much lovely food. Thanks Ama for taking care of me! I have to say I’m not much of a hiker so the walk up the mountain to the village was a bit tough for me but well worth it. Rabindra went above and beyond during my stay. The buses were not passing through due to the weather and he met me to help guide me all the way to his home. He also joined me to make sure I made it back to my next stay safely with all the flooding of rivers and roads falling from the extreme rain. I couldn’t have made it back without his help. It was an absolute adventure. Thank you for everything! I hope to be back with friends again!

Stay at safe and clean place during your stay in Kathmandu! Lazimpat is popular residential area for both foreign and wealthy local people because of its very clean, convenient and safe environment. The city center, Durbar Marg and Thamel, is all located in walking distance. Convenient location, safe area, super clean house with beautiful garden and good foods, any reason to hesitate? ;)
  • My fav spot in Kathmandu!

  • Chuck's guest house is awesome - the location is very central and the room was spacious and well-kept. Chuck was incredibly accomodating of my flight's late arrival time and was kind to keep one of my suitcases after I had checked out and was trekking. A real highlight of staying at his property is the breakfast at Salon de Kathmandu on the property's first floor - it is among my favorite restaurants in the city.

A luxury cottage well furnished and fully equipped, nestled in an Oak forest facing a valley in the Kumaon region of the Himalayas. It's an open layout with a private bedroom, an open layout bedroom, a painting studio and terraced gardens. All rooms are bright as the cottage faces east!
Iris cottage is fully equipped with all essential household gadgets as well as cooking gas. The cottage is on three levels all facing sunny East. The living room and kitchen is on the top level leading up to the painting studio which has a double bed, the open bedroom with twin beds on the second level and the private bedroom with a double bed on the lowest level. We have an onsite caretaker who will clean the house daily and help with minor chores and also fire up the fireplace. There are two bathrooms, one is attached to the private bedroom and the other is attached to the main living area. There is an open kitchen in the living area as well as a separate kitchen. All rooms have a small garden in front facing the valley.
Iris cottage is located below road level facing a valley and an Oak forest. A winding path in between Oak trees leads down to the cottage. Parking is at road level and during tourist season you may have to park a little ahead or before our cottage. The whole area is safe! Near the cottage is the only hospital in Mukteshwar. While there are many resorts nearby, Iris Cottage has its own seclusion and privacy and yet is close to public amenities Some of the well known resorts nearby are Mystic Mukteshwar and Mountain Trail. There is a small grocery shop for essentials a 5 minute walk away and the main market called Bhatelia is a 5 minute car drive away. The town of Mukteshwar is 5kms from the cottage. There are many Himalayan birds you can observe from the cottage itself so do carry binocs if you are a bird lover!
  • Rajat’s cottage is a real work of beauty and careful, thoughtful designing. It’s located conveniently, not too close, not too far from the road with a couple of nice cafes and shops selling mountain products close by. The caretaker and his family are extremely nice people and made us feel welcomed and comfortable. The cottage also is not only beautifully designed but also thoughtfully and adequately equipped. We spent a wonderful Christmas here, cooking, relaxing in the winter sun and would love to return at some point.

  • Loved my stay, loved the hospitality, even the extra touchings with paintings and pictures on the walls. And the view from the balcony is to die for. Definitely worth every penny spent.

  • Iris cottage would be a great choice , what you see is what you get..maybe better. Rajat's home is tastefully done , spacious & is equipped with most amenities you could ask for. You wouldn't miss much...recommend having a lazy breakfast of stuffed paranthas & omelette's cooked by the caretaker ( Pandit Ji )....that too in the sun kissed balcony with fabulous views. It was so quiet...you could hear a pin drop in the woods :) loved it.

    Krishna2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Rajat and his care taker Pandit Ji were extremely warm and thoughtful at their welcome. The place has a serene quiet surrounding and a cozy quotient. The kitchen and equipments are well placed to cater home cooked food. The place is well located and near to every possible tourist spot. The place has a great collection of books and movies. Iris cottage makes you find the peace which isn't available in city life. No addition needed to this place.

  • If someone is planning a trip to Mukteshwar, I would highly recommend you to stay at Irish Cottage. Be it with friends or family, this 'home away from home' won't disappoint you. The pictures here completely do justice to this beautiful instagrammable cottage. Perfect location to make your holiday perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. I would like to thank Rajat for being an amazing host and being a perfect guide, solving all our queries before we landed up there. Whenever Mukteshwar happens again, without any second thoughts it will be Irish Cottage again! :)

  • Iris cottage is a cozy little cottage in Mukhteshwar, the location of the cottage is so perfect that you'll not have to step out for anything. There were beautiful views from every part of the cottage. Rajat has done up the place so tastefully, the kitchen is fully equipped, its almost as if you can live there without having to think you need anything more. I travelled there with my sisters for a relaxed break and that's exactly what we got. spent the days playing games & watching movies, that are there in the cottage and SO many DVDs you can choose from. There's a cute little café right next door that has the best Kumaoni food and since it was raining mostly, they were gracious enough to deliver whenever we requested. I can keep writing about the place but words really don't do justice to this beautiful cottage, one has to experience it. Thank you Rajat.

  • Very responsive host and equally friendly care-takers. This place has a charm of escaping with your family to a quite place and re-connect. Well designed house with one private room and 2 open rooms. The caretaker is very helpful. I had a rejuvenating vacation in which i extended a day as 2 days is very less for consuming all the goodness about this place. I would love to come back and stay for a longer time.

Chowkhamba is part of Sukoon, a quiet homestead in Satoli, in the Kumaon Himalayas. The village, at 6000 feet, has a mild temperate climate, pleasant summers and bracing cold winters. The forest is a haven for Himalayan and other migratory birds. It is for those wishing solitude or select company. We welcome, thinkers, philosophers, painters, writers, musicians, or anyone else needing a break from urban existence. A perfect getaway for a family wishing to discover a new way of being together.
This is a running home with a cosy kitchen and dining area with two bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms and a large balcony with a grand view of the valley and the Himalayas. The rooms are all well lit, ventilated and cosy. The property has running cold and hot water. Additional heat could be had from electrical heaters. There are 8 acres of forested land within the property. It also has 3 other cottages in the vicinity, all fairly private and occupied by young people.
Unmatched views of the central Himalayas. Set in a lush oak forest. Flush with pure spring water all through the year.
  • Amazing Above expectation Amazing for creation A1 Double good

  • Sukoon is not a homestay, it's a lifetime experience. It's a piece of dream set in pure wilderness. If you love silence, if you love solitude and above all if you love nature in its primoridal charm, and want to feel it in every pore of your body, stay in Sukoon for a couple of nights. First of all, the hike. We loved it the most. It's thrilling, and yet not too demanding, and at places through apparently impenetrable overgrowth of ferns and other mountainous plants. Rest on the way and look around. You'll love the view. Just when you feel a bit tired, you reach the cottage. And the very sight of it is pure joy. The home is clean, sensibly organized, well maintained, comfortable without a hint of luxury, and could not have been better located. You are well attended to by the caretaker, Gopal, and the pet dog, Mili. He's polite and courteous. She is friendly and disciplined. They both are always one call away. If you want, Gopal will add to your sense of adventure by telling you stories about leopards coming very close to the cottage. The best part of the cottage is the balcony. It offers 180° unobstructed view of the hills and forests, and on a clear day, the snow-capped peaks of Chowkhamba and Trishul. Sit there all day and night and you'll have your money worth.

  • We travelled in the month of October first week. We were four of us and it was an amazing trip. The location was mesmerising. One needs to trek for around 15-20 mins to reach the cottage but once you reach the place, all the trekking, travelling will be worth the efforts. The cottage is just as it is named ‘Sukoon’. The best part of the cottage is privacy. We carried all groceries and vegetables etc and we cooked ourselves. Even otherwise the cottage is laded with all the necessary items required for cooking. The help didi is also very cooperative. One can trekk further upwards and can go to a point where the sunset can be seen. Coming to the cottage, everything inside the cottage gives a very homely feeling as if it is done by you. The balcony opening towards the jungle is as quiet as possible. So, if you are looking for a place to spend the weekend only with your partner or your friends, this place should be one in the top. Thank you Sushil Jee for making our trip memorable with your beautiful house and impromptu help with all the smallest possible querry. Thank you!

  • The place is apt for a perfect holiday. The relaxed environment, the scenic set up and the cozy spaces of Sukoon are amazingly put together by the contributors. We were 100% satisfied and it turned out, we missed it the moment we had to leave! I should say, cheerful people, green-serene & calm environment, cute dogs, the scented orchards, sweet birds, wildflowers, tall pine trees (and so much more) cute-ed up the place for an ideal holiday you could imagine. My one suggestion to the visitors would be; "not to carry your electrical gadgets except for mobile if you want to experience this mountain-jewel ." Totally worth the visit and stay. I highly recommend Sukoon, as its name has it - for a peaceful and lovely stay.

  • Amazing stay I will start with location and balcony view which was superb. Villa was very good and comfortable. The first impression was excellent, Durga didi is very kind and helpful. we felt like home. I would like to thank Dr. Sushil, helped me through out the trip starting from cab, sightseeing. He managed everything nicely without any hassle ,from Check-in till checkout everything was flawless. Breataking location and cool atmosphere. I hope to be back for a longer visit. Thanks

  • We had an amazing time at Sukoon. The name is apt for the place. Sushil was not there at the property when we reached but he made sure that we have seamless checkin. The staff Durga Di and Prem were really helpful and ever smiling "touch wood". Our favourite place in the entire villa was the balcony. We spent most of our day admiring the beautiful Himalayan peaks. It's a must must visit if you are looking for a good break from mundnae city life.

    Shiv2019-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Accessibility: To reach the stay, you need to hike for 20 minutes. As the description already mentions it, we were well prepared. Mr. Sushil can arrange for a porter if told in advance. The stay in itself: It is a beautifully constructed place made out of stone and wood with a contemporary touch. It is designed in such a way that you would not need to turn on any light during the day. Equipped with everything that you would need, the place has a wonderful view, an added outdoor shower, arrangement for a bonfire, comfortable and clean bedding. Overall the place is super clean and well maintained. People: Though we could not meet Mr. Sushil himself, the caretaker Durga is extremely helpful. The neighbors in the community are very friendly and a delight to talk to as well. If you plan to sit back and relax in one place, it is the perfect spot.

  • Pratibha and staff were absolutely amazing! We felt warm and welcomed from the minute we walked in the door. We were blown away by all the amenities we had to choose from and the hospitality shown by all staff members. Homemade dinner every night was a blessing and the 10 minute walk to the Taj Mahal was super easy. We enjoyed being able to relax on the many porches and take part in daily brunch. We truly felt at home here in Sanjay and Pratibha’s place and would recommend them to anyone looking to enjoy their time in Agra. Big thank you to everyone for all the love and help during our stay!

  • We enjoyed our stay a lot. Cozy room, everything super clean. Modern bathroom. We even got a heater as it was quiet cold outside. Internet was also good. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be had at the homestay. And can definitely recommend this. The food is home cooked and was the best we had in Agra.

  • This little boutique hotel is just delightful. We only had one evening there and wish we had more. The place is full of little nooks and crannies, all tastefully decorated and full of lovely plants and foliage where you can hang out and relax. Bed was super comfortable and the location is perfect for accessing the Taj Mahal. Hosts extremely communicative and friendly- highly recommend!!!

    Madeleine2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • i only wish we could have stayed longer! my partner and i stayed one night with this friendly and welcoming couple. everything one could hope for is provided. i was very happy to be able to start my day with a cup of tea in my room. the house is beyond beautiful and the meal was amazing! everybody in the neighborhood was helpful finding it (which is not difficult). they even told me how much to expect to pay for the ride to the house. the only complaint i could ever have is that Agra has no beach so i couldn't spend my entire trip with these wonderful people.

    Megan2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • It was a lovely, homely and safe place to stay in Agra. Perfect location to walk to the Taj Mahal for sunrise! Friendly place to meet fellow travellers over delicious home cooked Indian meals.

My home, is a heritage building and was built by my great grandfather. My family lives in the main house. Your rooms are outside the main building with their own private entrance and are in the same compound. Its unique location makes it very near to the main town of Nainital and at the same time isolates it from the city noise. You can take guided treks with me as an added experience. We also serve additional home cooked meals from our menu if you choose to order well in advance.
We have been blessed with ample space around the house, a lawn where children can play and elders can bask in the sun, a secure parking for the cars, views of Camel's Back hill and Cheena Peak that leave you appreciating their magnificence. The best part is you're away from town and at the same time it just takes a 10 minutes walk downhill to reach the town centre.
The neighborhood is one of the best in Nainital and it's a very quiet and serene place to be. I feel blessed to have lived here for a very long time and want to spend the rest of my life here.
  • We had a very nice stayed and felt safe when we stayed in Rohan's place. He was at the house to welcome us and recommended us the best restaurant in Nainital. The location is amazing. We were enjoying walking from the house to the lake which take only 10 mins. The lake is very beautiful and the city is very cute. We really enjoyed the food and shopping here a lot. We recommended Rohan's place to any travellers. You will have a great time here. Choose Rohan's place for your Nainital next visit and you will not disappoint. Thank you Rohan again for having us.

  • Superb place superb location... Extremely delicious food...Rohan is very kind and helpful person..Surely recommend this place.Dont forget to buy some organic honey from Rohan just remind him in a day advance..thanx dear for making our stay so pleasant..

    Garima2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Rohan’s place was perfect for our travel to Nainital. The rooms are cozy and clean and located not too far away from the mall road. There is even a shortcut to the main bazar, if you like to walk (unfortunately we were not able to take this path because of icy condition). Campfire arranged by Rohan was the highlight of our trip to nainital. If you stay here, this is a must do.

    Umang2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • They made us feel like part of their family. It really felt like we were visiting a friend or relative's place for vacation. Food was amazing. Great dinner conversations & good company in general. We definitely recommend to anyone visiting Nainital.

    Jishnu2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing host and amazing hospitality. Rohan's a very kind and humble guy who's always ready to help. One of us came down with an upset stomach and Rohan's wife Achala was so kind to prepare khichdi on last minute's notice. We had a fun session of archery with him. The organic honey we got from him is the best. Had a very happy stay. Thank you Rohan!

  • We had gone to Nainital as we wanted to have a peaceful and chilly new year and oh, it was cold. We couldn't have made a better choice of stay ! Firstly, this property is nothing short of BEAUTIFUL. It's picturesque, well kept and perfectly located ! The nicest thing is that the place is exactly how he has described it. Secondly, It's the perfect spot for both romantic and family getaway. It has all the required amenities like heater, geyser and warm cozy blankets :) They keep the rooms very clean and tidy. Also provide all the toiletries and small perks like like coffee, tea packs and kettle. They also provide bon fire on request. The hosts are lovely and cooperative. They are available to help you, interact with you anytime but also respect your privacy. Rohan took us for treks on request, told us about the place history and what not! He is real fun to hang out with (we also love him cz he clicked very nice pics of us) He helped us chalk out our days so that we make the most of trip. Introduced us to his mom's yummy honey, we took 2 bottles home :) Achala has magic hands ! We enjoyed every authentic kumauni meal she prepared. Left us licking our fingers, craving for more. Gargi and her smile used to bring a smile on our faces, still does! We celebrated new year with them and it was our best one yet. We felt like we were home❤️ This is a lovely family, they are very welcoming and this is an amazing property. It was a fabulous experience. We definitely wish to come back here soon :)

  • We stayed for three days at Rohan’s lodge. Rohan himself was very friendly and a good host. We had dinner at his place the day we arrived, the food was supertasty. Breakfast is complementary which we were not aware of. This was a nice surprise and a good start of every day. We would highly recommend this place if you want a nice stay in beautiful Nainital

  • Kamal's place is truly gem. We've enjoyed our stayed very much. Kamal and his helper are so kind and warm in heart. He gave us the ride from Kathgodam to his place. He also gave us welcome drinks, a gift and some food to eat because we've arrived when it was raining very heard and found us the solution to travel around. His helper made a local breakfast which was very yummy. It was a good moments and memories for us. We will definitely come back again.

    Pannarai2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome host. Unmatchable Hospitality. Great Amenities. We stayed at Kamal's place for a weekend. Located in Bhowali, a nice place off the commercially buzzed Nainital. The place is really clean, comfortable. And well equipped for someone who is not used cold weather there. Flawless communication from Kamal at all times be it phone or Airbnb messages. The omnibus we took from Delhi dropped us at Kathgodam. It's an hour drive to Nainital and there are cabs to take from Kathgodam. But kamal picked us from there and took us to the property. He didn't have to do that. But he did. He even helped us around the main market area to get some essential wears to bear the local weather. Kamal, a warm and kind-hearted person gave us great advice about sightseeing and he took us to a few places as well. He helped us in getting all the transport needs and foods sorted out. And you have all the help you need when you have it. Overall we were very welcomed there, and I suggest you have no second thoughts while you're considering this property. We will most definitely return to this beautiful place whenever we are back in Nainital.

  • The cottage was the best part of our entire trip. Everything was clean and amazing, especially the location. Very secluded, peaceful and safe. If you want to get away from the hustle of the city, this is the place to be. The caretaker, Manoj, was very respectful, polite and helpful. He made sure that we always had everything we needed and he even arranged a driver for us to go sight-seeing who was also very friendly and knew his surroundings well. The owner, Kamal, gave us a parting gift which was a very sweet and touching gesture. All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much and wished it hadn't come to an end.

The place was very clean and had all of the necessities for a few night stay. Couldn’t have been better. • This is absolutely the best spot in Rishikesh. It is up the hill in the beautiful Himalaya a bit out of town. On a beautiful river - amazing birds and just a lovely relaxing place - everyone seems to stay for at least 5 days! And then the yoga and meditation. I just absolutely loved this with Anand. Best teacher ever. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this to anyone going to India - and the best in Rishikesh

Very well maintained and courteous staff too. The owners are always ready to help you and make you comfortable. The food, especially lunch and dinner, is as good as it can get too.

A small room with attached bathroom, in the heart of old Patan. Book there if you want to enjoy an authentic Newari House
Small bedroom (single occupancy only) with modern bathroom and access to a friendly family kitchen. The room is located in a restored old Newari House. A good value for money and the chance of living in Prakash and Premila’s place in the old Patan! !! Low ceilings . If you are tall you may not want to book here for a long period !! Please note that the room is located next to the family/ shared kitchen: wonderful for a lively experience and to get to meet your hosts and other guests but be aware that it is not the quietest room of our listings.
The Old Patan is a fantastic area to stay in. It is much more authentic and traditional than the tourist-spoiled places of Kathmandu and its concrete jungle. There are many hidden treasures to discover: hindu temples, Buddhist stupas, courtyard, secret paths, monasteries, local food spots... The vibrant local life of the Newars (the original ethnic group of the Kathmandu Valley) guarantees you a very rich cultural experience.
  • Most appreciation to Cosy Nepal and hosts for their support in extending my stay while I recover from the common cold. Very much recommended.

    Jack2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for authentic local experience in Kathmandu and interested in Newari culture and Architecture this is the place to be. It’s affordable, close to amenities and Patan Durbar Square.

    Jack2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Just a few minutes' walk from Patan Durbar Square, this Airbnb provided a welcoming and comfortable stay. Prakash was a kind host and served as a knowledgeable resource.

    Daniel2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The house is around a hundred years old and is beautiful. There's a roof that's airy and offers a lot of sunlight. The rooms are well furnished and have everything you need to be comfortable. The ceilings are low, so that might be something a tall person needs to look out for but apart from that, it's lovely to be hosted by Prakash at this house. It's located in a beautiful old street in Lalitpur, very close to Patan Durbar Square and a lot of restaurants that serve traditional Newari meals, which was a great highlight.

    Yvonne2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Room in accordance with the presentation. The Newaris style property is set back from the street. Accessible by a small covered walkway and an inner courtyard. The location is ideal, just steps from the golden temple, Patan Dubar Square. Close to many tourist and local restaurants, cafes, shops. The hosts are available, discreet and extremely kind. I recommend without hesitation.

    Bruno2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend to stay here to enjoy old house with comfortable atmosphere

    Kt2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The room is just as pictured though a bit smaller than I expected (probably because of the low ceilings). There are three windows that open to the home’s inner courtyard. It’s quiet and protected from street noise. Prakash was able to supply a fan to help cool and provide airflow for the space. All the local recommendations provided were great. Staff at the Cosy Nepal office were friendly and helpful when I stopped by to ask for directions one day. Prakash and his wife arranged a very early morning breakfast and transportation the airport on the day of my departure which I really appreciated. Next time I visit, I’ll plan on taking a cooking class and maybe a walking tour with them. It was a lovely home stay with great hospitality and plenty of privacy.

    Catherine2019-08-05T00:00:00Z

  • Space has multiple rooms, shared with other guests. Depending on the room you get, you might have to share a common bathroom. The rooms are comfortable and clean. There is also a cafe (and eco shop) at the ground floor, but we did not get to try it, because they are not open on Saturdays. However, do drop by the Boudha Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings as they sell great local food, produce and merchandise. Location is about 15-20 drive from the airport (at night) and a nice walk away from Boudha Stuppa. However, it might be a tad far from Thamel, if that is what you are looking for. Also try Ramsterdam Cafe at the corner of the street for nice live music and ambience. There are 2 lovely and adorable dogs on the property, do have a chance to play with them. The host also cooked breakfast for us on our last day since we had to catch an early bus and there were no other breakfast options around, what a nice gesture :) thank you!

  • Passang is a really great host. He taught us great places during our stay. The guesthouse is very clean. Two cute dogs welcome us. Staying in Boudha has been a very good experience for us.

    A L-shaped loft with a bed corner, living room, kitchen and bathroom. Access to a spacious roof terrace. Nice location in the heart of Old Patan between Durbar Square and Patan Dhoka;
This top floor loft is located in a restored old Newari House in the historical center of Patan. The house is nested in a courtyard nearby Nagbahal, the Golden Temple and the magical Patan Durbar Square. The neighbourhood is very authentic and traditional.
The Old Patan is a fantastic area to stay in! It is much more authentic and traditional than the tourist-spoiled places of Kathmandu/Thamel and its concrete jungle. There are many hidden treasures to discover: hindu temples, Buddhist stupas, courtyard, secret paths, monasteries, local food spots... The vibrant local life of the Newars (the original ethnic group of the Kathmandu Valley) guarantees you a very rich cultural experience.
  • Whilst the location was a little difficult to find we were advised to get our driver to ring and that made finding the house very easy. Super hosts - very friendly BC and great with communications. A very enjoyable stay

  • Dhakhwa house is a lovely, traditional home in the heart of Patan. Patan is an old city oozing with charm and was a much more peaceful choice than Kathmandu. My sister and I stayed on the third floor room. This room will suit anyone who wants basic kitchen facilities because it has a gas stove, fridge and kettle. Also, it has the highest ceiling of the three available rooms. Would recommend for anyone over 5’7. The entire Dhakhwa family were generous and accommodating hosts. We stayed in touch with them throughout our trip to ask for tips. They were quick in responding and making us feel comfortable. It was quite cold when we visited and the house is old/prone to getting chilly. But there are plenty of extra plug-in heaters and blankets in the house. Again the third floor is best for cold weather because there’s an electric blanket made into the bed. It was very beautiful to walk into the courtyard after exploring all day. Thanks for a nice visit to Nepal :) hope to come back again soon!

  • This is a great space in Patan — away from the hustle and bustle of Thamel. The hosts are lovely and live in the building. My one note is that it is quite cold if you come in the winter. So make sure you bring layers— or come during a warmer time of year.

    Tomi2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • One of a kind place. If you plan to visit Kathmandu and the surrounding area for a few days I would highly recommend to stay in its southern neighbor of Patan. The actual house is beautifully redone keeping its true historic charm and run by a family equally as lovely. If I ever make it back, I will stay nowhere else.

    Eric2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Such a jewel in Patan and central to everything. The hosts were so nice and helpful, we followed all their suggestions and think it added so much value to our time in Patan. Highly recommended.

Beautiful lobby, specious and clean rooms and large greener open area is USP of this cottage which surly can make you feel like you home. The room was lovely, super clean with most comfortable bed I have ever slept on! and bathroom with shower very clean. • It is a wonderful cottage, so beautifully designed and located. We travelled with our parents and kid, and both enjoyed the sun in the garden the most. The care taker, Pawan is very hospitable, cooks amazing food. He also took us to a trek, had good local knowledge and suggested some great tips for sight seeing.

  • We had a great time at Mohit's place.... both Mohit and Pawan (the caretaker) were extremely helpful and responsive. Pawan is a great cook as well :)... we would love to stay here again when visiting bhimtal...

  • Great location. A little away from the main stream Nainital/Bhimtal. Nainital is exactly an hour away by car. Great house for upto 6 people. We were a family of four and enjoyed our stay there. The vibe of the place is super - clean and calm. The morning breakfast, freshly cooked by the caretaker, while you sit in the sun and amid flowers is a luxury. Awesome place to just bond with family/friends over TV, Games, Food and Tea. The house is maintained well and is absolutely neat and clean. Linen and Towels supplied were fresh. Communication with the caretaker was easy, warm and yet non intrusive. What more would one want from a holiday in a cottage amid the hills.

10, Nautical Mile - as the name suggests, this is a Mountain Cottage of a Mariner. This has been made out of love for the mountains and a wish to slow down the pace of life. Ideal for family and 'me' time, this is a home away from a home; tucked away in the lush green forest 15km away from the cantonment Town of Ranikhet at Uttarakhand.
10, Nautical Mile Mountain Cottage is just beyond the charming hill station of Ranikhet. The USP of this place is clean, crisp mountain air with solitude. The majestic Himalayan views and greenery can be enjoyed in the cosy cottage, with a garden and a private Gazebo with an unimpeded view. A wide range of modern amenities are made available to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Each of the 3 rooms can be booked individually as well. Booking two rooms come with the added attraction of a private attic for the kids!! The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with approximately 230 square feet of private space.
Close enough to the Town of Ranikhet and yet, far away for the solitude one desires
  • In a bit of a quandry, whether to pick the host or the space for an exceptional experience. Been to a lot of Airbnb's/Hotels but this wins hands down on being the perfect getaway with amazing location, views, hospitality by Ganesh/Rajesh with a awesome food experience served with a lot of love. The icing on the whole experience was AJ, guiding us and always making sure that our every need was taken care of. Simply put - it was a holiday that ticked all boxes. Not to be missed and for sure - Im going back SOON !!

  • My stay at 10, Nautical Mile was probably the best experience out of my trip to Uttarakhand. The hosts, Ajay and Purnita, and the boys (Rajesh and Ganesh) make sure that the space feels like home to all their guests. The decor is superb and will immediately appeal to anyone who sets foot there. And the home-cooked food is amazing! I went their as a solo traveller and left as a part of the family...truly a warm, positive, and cheerful place to be!

Fabulous views of the Himalayas from this secluded rustic retreat perched in a 10 acre peach orchard. Airy, with wood beam ceilings, skylight, loft, kitchen and fabulous porches north and south facing. Wood stove, perfect for retreat or honeymoon. Dakpa and Diki Dolma can cook for you. Enjoy the fresh air, mountain breezes, and quiet. Safe, clean, simple. Cottage is located directly north of Nagarkot Farm House park at NFH & walk down through NFH to reach our cottage, approx 10 minute walk.
This is a perfect space for a weekend getaway or a serious retreat. This two story fully furnished retreat cottage with loft and views of the entire Himalayan range comes with staff to cook for you. Sleeps 2-6. The cottage is powered by both solar and electric lighting, there’s a wood stove and an energy back up system. The Cottage is situated on a 10 ropani peach orchard, motorable road touches the property edge. From there, walking access to cottage, 10 minutes, only- but it is on a mountainside--access challenging for physically disabled, lofts challenging for toddlers. The cottage has internet access, extra. Speak to Chadani about the rates. This family cottage was built for anthropologist, Carroll Dunham and photographer, Thomas L. Kelly by Suresh Shrestha and his crew of craftsmen, the same crew that restored the Patan Museum and Garden of Dreams in Kathmandu. Wood floor, tile kitchen, a loft above and comfortable bonco couches that can become beds in the evening. Enjoy our porch with views of the Himalayas, and our morning sun hillside porch- perfect for early morning yoga. Bathroom is separate and simple but with running water.
    1) Fabulous walks and mountain biking straight from the house- to Changu Narayan, Sanku. 2) Hike west or south-west to North through beautiful Tamang village 3) To the West village of Katike, then continue on North-west to Jashinging Pauwa. Its a kind of semi-rural Tamang village. 4) Walk to Sakhu, the old trading town between Nepal and Tibet, we suggest you do this on your departure day.
  • This cottage is absolutely magical! Situated on a mountainside overlooking the Himalayas its hard to think of a more peaceful and beautiful place on earth. We were prepared for a rather rustic stay but found the cottage to be really comfortable and beautiful. The house is really a home with so many small lovely details. We stayed one week with our 2 year old daughter and would have loved to stay even longer. Dhakpa cooked a tasty breakfast and dinner for os and bought fresh buffalo milk in the morning. The small neighbour village is good for hanging out with the locals and getting a few vegetables. Everyone was so friendly with us and invited us for breskfast and tea. Cannot recommend this place enough !

  • Very nice place on the hill, secluded from other hotels and houses. Good food. Great hospitality.

    Remun2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • We (family of 4) stayed here for a couple of days . We enjoyed the quietness, away from the strip of hotels, and we enjoyed the beautiful surroundings with view on the Himalaya. Dhakpa, the housekeeper, prepared delicious meals for us and was super helpfull. We would certainly recommend & we hope to come back some day!

    Annelies2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Such a gorgeous cottage in the middle of nowhere. Dhakpa is the sweetest man and the BEST cook. We had the most delicious breakfast and supper every night. We struggled to get organised for lunch but ended up going to Country Villa one day which was really good but q expensive. We were with two small babies and actually found it fine as long as you’re happy to carry them up the steep steps. At the house itself as long as you put a firm “no ladder” rule it’s perfectly child friendly and nice garden to play in. The bathroom is separate but his didn’t matter and because it was so cold washing wasn’t appealing but again this didn’t matter . Can’t thank you enough - Daisy, Bill, Dexter and Oswald

    Daisy2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Carroll's place is located in a beautiful, picturesque area in Nagarkot . We enjoyed long hikes and the surroundings. Would definitely come back to get away for a few days :)

  • Our fourth time back and the place was great as always. A real gem!

    Robert2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a great place for travelers who wants to stay away from the city and prefer tranquility . It’s all about nature and lovely view of mountains on clear days from the property . The food was very testy and thanks to Dhakpa’s for that and his hospitality .

Stay at safe and clean place during your stay in Kathmandu! Lazimpat is popular residential area for both foreign and wealthy local people because of its very clean, convenient and safe environment. The city center, Durbar Marg and Thamel, is all located in walking distance. Convenient location, safe area, super clean house with beautiful garden and good foods, any reason to hesitate? ;)
  • Food is amazing. Location is great, just within walking distance to city center (Thamel). Great food stalls nearby. Loving the European decorations and service provided. The craft shop, especially, is a winner!

    Irene2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The whole stuff was very friendly! We had to leave very early so we couldn’t get breakfast but they prepared us the evening before a nice snack :) They have heater in the room and we also could take hot shower (you don’t have hot water everywhere in Kathmandu) It was a nice stay!

  • Nice place with nice staff! We had to leave very early and they prepared us a breakfast the evening before.

    Nora2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • The location is good, next to the Israeli embassy, it is a detached house with a small courtyard for drinking afternoon tea. The first floor is the restaurant, which has a lot of food to eat, and there is also a complimentary breakfast. The room has a separate toilet, the room is very neat and clean, and there is a heater (gas heating, a bit magical). There are also very warm tips and maps. The currency exchange here is the highest we have ever seen.

  • We really recommend this place to anyone staying at Kathmandu. The location is perfect, it is not too busy, but not too far from the city centre (thamel). It had all the amenities available: hot shower, clean bed, heater, etc. it also had a cafe attached to the airbnb which provided us with great food and free breakfast. The breakfast was PERFECT. It was the best breakfast we had here in Kathmandu. Overall, it was one of the best stays we had from Airbnb and it concluded our Nepal trip on a super positive note. Stay here! You wont regret it 😊

  • My wife and I spent a month at Gusto's and didn't want to leave. Note this review is for Saturn room, not Earth - Earth would be great too but Saturn the best in my opinion. The views from the bedroom, balcony and breakfast area were all sensational and we never grew tired of them. Breakfast was slightly inconsistent but delicious. Local organic coffee, home made chilli chutney, eggs, fruit, potatoes, paratha and more. As you can see in the pictures, there is little privacy in the bathroom. We thought this would bother us but it really wasn't a big deal. Know that the staff speak limited English but they try their best and we thought the service was very good. Cleanliness of the entire place was next level... Even areas most places would ignore seemed to be scrubbed every few days. We only took a taxi twice (less than $3 USD) and chose to walk into the middle of Lakeside Pokhara (20-30 minutes), sharing the roads with cows, horses, buffalo, goats and more. Loved it! There are so many restaurants around the place that we rarely ate at the same place more than once. If you walk the opposite direction to Pokhara, you'll reach Happy Village in 10 minutes, with a bunch more places to eat. Quite honestly, this place made our stay in Pokhara. To wake up every day looking out over the glassy lake was simply amazing. We travel full time and this was one of our best experiences. Thanks to Rana, Mama and Susil - you were all fantastic. Search online for Life Dunn Differently Pokhara to see a video on our time here. The views from the bedroom, balcony and breakfast area were all sensational and we never grew tired of them. • We would like to thank rana and his family for such a great organisation for our stay. Everything was on point! Special thanks to Maamaa (the receptionist) for being a wonderful host and helping us with literally every doubt about pokhara. Location was ideal for us as we went for morning jog with those views and till the market was a brisk and short jog. Ps. Breakfast was immaculate .. with amazing views.

    Sunil2019-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • The rooms are very good and can surpass many hotels. For example, the second Himalayan in Pokhara personally thinks that it is not good. The hotel is not difficult to find on the roadside if it is not on the mountain. The hotel staff is very good. Two stations in black clothes Picking us up on the side of the road Haha is lovely, the restaurant in this hotel is very good, the stuff is very delicious, and the roast chicken makes me never forget

    2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the space & the view. The Saturn room next to us would have boasted better views, to be honest. It is quite a distance from the area where the food and shops are but you can always get a taxi or take a leisurely walk over. Mama & Rana were great hosts and they were extremely helpful. Breakfast at their own restaurant which is above where we were residing was fabulous - both view-wise and food-wise.

    Salz2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a calm oasis just outside of lakeside. You’re treated like a king and the room is as good as it looks. Fabulous views and always a clean space, this place didn’t disappoint. The best thing by far was the service from the staff. They bent over backwards to make sure we were happy and it was the best service we’d had in Nepal. We had to leave really early on our last morning but they made sure to pack us a fresh breakfast for our trip! It’s worth the price for this place and taxis from lakeside are cheap (~300rps) or its a twenty min walk.

As a family we are very proud of where we live. We wanted to share our beautiful village with tourists. When I started to build Shanta Ghar all of the local workers and my friends thought I was crazy and that nobody would come. Now, they are starting to see the tourists who love to experience life with a real Nepali family and to live among nature and wildlife. Finally, my dream is coming true.
  • Shantha ghar is beautiful. We had a wonderful stay there. The road leading to the place is horrible, but the amazing views rather make up for it. We missed having Ramakanta ji around during our stay, but his son and his wife made sure our stay was very comfortable. The 10 year old lad is amazing and very enterprising - he took us around the area to show us the lush green fields and his school. We also did the hike to the waterfalls in the morning - moderately strenuous, but the jeep driver was very helpful. We were the only ones in this beautiful waterfall and we loved the experience. We had Ramakanta ji's daughter welcome us at the airport at pick up and the jeep waiting to take us to Shanta ghar. I would highly recommend this due to the road conditions. Wifi was available in the house and we had delicious meals cooked by Mrs.Ramakanta for every meal. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the company of Kale the dog and Soori the cat - they make such a cute duo. Shanta ghar totally lives up to its name - peaceful home!

  • We had a fantastic time at this homestay. Getting there was a little tricky because the house wasn't located where the airbnb map said it would be. We were able to work this out because our taxi driver called Ramakanta for location details, but I would recommend confirming location while you still have wifi or just having Ramakanta pick you up. The house was architecturally stunning, beautifully decorated, and relaxing. We had the best afternoon naps. Ramakanta and his wife were wonderful hosts, constantly making us feel welcomed and making sure we were fed. Ramakanta is someone who is proud of his family and his village. The feeling of positivity was infectious throughout the whole stay. I definitely recommend this location if you are looking to escape the tourist heavy areas and understand Nepali farm life (but while being catered to and with hot showers). Our jungle walks with Ramakanta were the highlight of our whole trip. I personally was looking for a way to experience Chitwan without contributing to any unethical treatment of animals. Ramakanta offered us real and raw exposure to Chitwan. Overall fantastic stay and a perfect addition to our otherwise "on the grid" Nepal vacation.

  • To all travellers of Nepal...you must visit Ramakanta and his family, at their amazing place in Madi village. Around 2 hours outside Chitwan city and 1 hour from Chitwan National park. It is absolutely amazing! Quiet and peaceful, with the sound of the wild jungle in the background. It can be a little difficult to find...but Ramakanta is very helpful and provides both direction (if you come with driver), and pick up for you, at any place nearby Chitwan...so no problem at all. As the city girl I am, I have to compliment Ramakanta and his family for both their great hospitality and patience with me. Ramakanta and his family, is kind, welcoming and extremely helpful, and they care 100% for their visitors. Ramakanta went out of all expectations, to show me the Jungle and the stunning nature of his birthplace. He’s also been a trekking guide in Pokhara and Annapurna for over 10 years, so he’s also very helpful, with good tips of where to go, and what to see in Pokhara and Annapurna. Ramakanta build his eco place all by himself, and everything is homemade. Food is made from lovely fresh vegetables from his eco garden, and you will never leave Ramakantas home hungry, as his lovely wife cooks you the most delicious and tasteful food, and she will always serve you plenty of it. Good tips for visiting Ramakanta...bring very good flip flops! Other than that Ramakanta and his family, provides you everything you’ll need, for a wonderful stay at their place. Dear Ramakanta and family, from my heart, thank you for giving this city girl an amazing adventure, and for an extraordinary memorable experience. Cecilie

  • The landlord is super cute, the male owner is warm and cheerful, hardworking and hardworking, and very careful in small details. The waterfall tour and jeep tour prepared for us are very hard and highly recommended. The charge is reasonable. The hostess's pastry and curry rice won everyone's praise. There is also a recommended chicken every day, curry chicken is too delicious, only 1500 rupees, a serious value. The children of the landlord also left us with a deep image. His family's passionate dog curry is a cold cat. Everything is perfect. Recommended for at least 3 days. The only thing missing is that there is no electric fan, and it is more uncomfortable if you encounter hot weather. Fortunately, we only met one day in three days. The rest of the two days are very cool. Also, there are no mosquitoes here. In short, it is the biggest highlight of our trip to Nepal. Thank you for your kind service. Finally, we bought the curry made by the host. too delicious.

  • Ramakanta’s place is a little bit of heaven on earth. It’s situated in a remote farmers village, a bit difficult to access, bit so worth the effort. It’s very easy to organise a taxi to get there and back. You will see the « true » nepal, and be rewarded with the most peaceful and beautiful place. You will be staying with Ramakanta’s family who will take such good care of you; we had everything we needed and the food was amazing. We did a jeep safari as well for a day which took us in less touristy places of the National Park and allowed us to see a part of the jungle that is still very wild. Don’t hesitate to book this place! You won’t regret it :-)

    Julieta2019-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • It is the best place to stay for people hwo really want to feel nepal. No Tourist at all and a great jungel Trip. You will not find a better place!

  • We travel with three young kids which means that we have unique needs. Ramakanda was an outstanding host and went out of his way to help us and show us around. Although his Jeep was broken and transportation was a problem because of a holiday, Ramakanda and his lovely family made sure we see the jungle and the country life and made the trip a very special one for us. The rooms are very beautiful and spacious and the outside area is lovely for the kids to run around. The house is remote which gives a unique peek into the local country lifestyle. We deeply recommend this homestay.

    Josh2018-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Charming house in a quiet and relaxing environment. Be careful however, it takes more than 3 hours to reach the accommodation from the Sauraha bus stop. Ramakanta kindly pick you up, for a nice ticket that is only announced the day of departure. A little pity ... This lack of transparency on prices is reflected in the price of meals: the package for the day is interesting, especially since it is difficult to eat elsewhere but the double is requested on departure .. The remoteness of the chitwan park does not allow to consider an excursion on such a short time. The room is comfortable, well equipped, in a beautiful country house, perfect to rest.

Inspired by the beautiful life. The cosy and comfortable house is made with natural stone and reclaimed wood quite like what it is supposed to be for a house in the hills. Enjoy your stay in the suites. Enjoy the quite and natural surroundings.
The space is in the 'Lake District' of Uttrakhand. La Belle Vie is just 100 meters to the Naukuchiatal Lake. Tucked away in the midst of a forest and near an eco-resort. At the same time it is close to markets, hospitals, restaurants and other recreational activities like boating, paragliding, treking, nature walks etc. It's like a hub from where one can travel to exotic places like Ranikhet, Binsar, Mukteshwar, Ramgarh, Almora. A minimum of 2 families (2 adults, 2 kids) can easily fit in to 2 suites. Ideally, the space is for 6 people since there are 3 double beds however we can accommodate for 4 more people with mattresses that are placed on the lofts in 2 rooms. Additional charge for accomodation beyond 6 people is only Rs. 1000/- per person per day.
The neighbourhood is surrounded with friends and people who have bought property to stay away from the hum-drum of city life. All the neighbours come from educated backgrounds and have travelled internationally. The guest should enjoy the quiet, calm greenery and forest, the peaceful walks by the lake, be comfortable in a simple but luxurious designed house using natural materials from the mountains. Can also visit exotic places like Ranikhet, Binsar, Mukteshwar, Ramgarh, Almora.
  • A fantastic and memorable experience. The property is beautiful and tastefully decorated. The staff are very friendly and always ready to do what it takes to make your stay comfortable.

The house with its exquisite fittings and wooden interiors, scenic beauty around, sparkling clean rooms and extremely helpful care-takers made our stay suer homely. It's a quaint and tastefully furnished penthouse on the top of our bungalow in one of the posh localities in Lucknow. On top of this space, we have fondly maintained a terrace cum garden that can be used to take in the fresh evening breeze of the city. Our house is located equidistant to all the visitable spots in the city with an added convenience of a Multiplex (The City Mall) right in front of our street. This is an extension to our own household and we will be pleased to host you.
Whether you're looking for a cozy work from home space or a laid back indoor family time with some light cooking and movie time on the side; we've got you covered. In case the guests are more than 4 ,a mattress or two can be provided on an extra charge, thanks
City mall, a multiplex for some shopping and movie time in the next street. There is a Joggers park called Lohia park lush with greenery and fresh air within a kilometers radius where you can enjoy a morning or an evening stroll. There is a market within 300 meters radius in front of City Montessori School for any kind of grocery-medical needs.

  • I am really grateful to meet ABHA Ma'am. She is a superhost. This the first time I am using AIRBNB, recommended by one of my friend. And i found the best place to stay in lucknow. The property is in great location just behind a SHOPPING MALL. And I loved my 10days stay in this property. Really enjoyed the terrace cum garden. I give 5 out of 5 to my superhost ABHA Ma'am. THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your assistance. We love you ma'am.

  • Abha is a superb host. The house is quite accessible. I was positively surprised by cleanliness of the suite.

    Jonas2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful place with all important amenities. Perhaps, the only drawback could be that our room was on 2nd floor, which can be a bit difficult for old age people. Apart from that, the place is just perfect, and Abha is a great host. I give this property a 5 on 5.

    Nishant2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • A place if you wish to unwind in Lucknow away from the hustle and bustle yet not far from any place you would like to visit . Abha is a great host and so is her home. If you get a chance spend time at her home .. you will truly enjoy your stay ....

  • The stay was super comfortable. The host was really nice and friendly. She helped guiding us with local food and shopping centres where we had to visit. It was our first visit to Lucknow but Abha made everything so easy and she explained each and everything to us so well. She also surprised us, bringing delicious home made fruit salad. She always had time for us. The rooms are sparkling clean, well organised .It's a beautiful home . Thank you so much for making our stay so easy and comfortable. We will definitely come back to your place for our future visits. Love.

Kailash a very humble and nice person who's not just the caretaker but also a great cook. People looking for peace and tranquility in life must visit this place. In one word.. Great!!!

  • We had an awesome experience at the Orange County Cottages. Everything we experienced exceeded our expectations. From the wonderful location of the cottage, outstanding service from the experienced Kailash ji, brotherly and warm attitude of Deepak ji - we loved it all!! If you’re planning to visit Mukteshwar, choose this place! You’ll never regret it! :)

  • If anyone wants to spend a peaceful time with tasty food , good hospitality and beautiful location This is one of the best place in mukteshwar.

    Shashank2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to spend holidays - top of the hill with super scenic view. The local manager Kailash was extremely helpful - he cooked great food and helped in every aspect. Only one scope of improvement is the approach road to the property - you have to climb a lot (although Kailash helps with luggage). Also there is a very small parking space so need to make arrangements if you travel with a big 12-seater tempo traveller. Baring this, net net it was a phenomenal experience - would love to stay at the property again and highly recommend this to people travelling to Mukteshwar

    Amrut2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place was everything that we expected. The caretaker, Kailash, was very helpful and is a great cook. :) You will find all the little amnetities that you would otherwise not expect at such a place. The location was lovely, and the place was cozy. It snowed a couple of days ago, and hence there was no electricity, otherwise, we had a great time!

A 3BR/3B duplex PH with a gourmet kitchen and 2 balconies is available at competitive rates. Equipped with 1 window and 3 wall ACs in the bedrooms to keep you cool during the day, the apartment is quiet and spacious. Amenities include free parking, free Wifi and a roof deck with stunning views of the Taj Mahal. A 20-minute walk to one of the Wonders of the World. Think about the value for your money; you get more bang for your buck. You pay to rent the whole apartment; NOT individual rooms.
A spectacular view of Taj Mahal from almost every corner of the penthouse.
Access to good restaurants, bars and a 20-minute walk to the Taj Mahal. The neighborhood is quiet -- about 500 yards off the main road called Fatehabad Road. At night, the area tends to get quieter. But the hotels in the vicinity -- Sheraton's Four Points or Hotel Parador or Hotel Alpine are pretty busy with their restaurants until late at night. A great restaurant called Bon Bar B Q is in the apartment building. Their charges are Rs. 600/- for a vegetarian buffet and Rs. 650 for a non-vegetarian buffet. The building is about 2 kms from ITC's landmark hotel called Hotel Mughal on a straight drive on Fatehabad Road. It is next to a small, boutique hotel called Parador.
  • Place is great. There is heating for cold days, Taj Mahal is superclose. Highly recommended. Thank you all for the great hospitality!

  • This house should belong to the rich area of this area. It is guarded by security. The house is on the fifth floor and there is a balcony on the rooftop to watch the sunset. It gave us a lot of surprises, it was clean, it was easy to wash clothes, and it was easy to cook. Anjali is very enthusiastic and has been with us for two days, giving us a lot of help and solving many problems in Agra. I especially like her. Although we only met for only three days, we are like friends we have known for a long time. thank you very much!
