“Cranes is an experience. It has a U Pick Orchard, a restaurant, and wine tasting (it's more of a wine tasting bar than a tasting "room"). The restaurant is a farm-style restaurant- the kind with grandma's kitchen tables and a hodge podge of wooden chairs. The decor on the walls is collectible/antique and lots of fun to look at while you wait. The food is home style comfort food (their apple cider is awesome) - sandwiches and pies. Again, a little pricey for what it is, but you're paying for well sourced food, a family run business, and a pretty cool experience. Cranes pie is "famous" in this area - try a "pie flight" if you can't decide between them all!”
“Virtue Cider is a cool Hard Cider House where you can do a tasting and get an appetizer (not tons of selection, but definitely complimentary to the hard cider)! ”
Point of Interest
“You can not leave town without stopping at Cranes for a slice of (or a batch of whole) pie. In addition to the classic Apple try Tart Cherry, Raspberry Rhubarb, and many more. ”
“A very well-known place for live Jazz on Mondays and Saturdays, plus guest artists. Monday-night Live Jazz Jam (6-9 fall, winter, spring, 6-10 summer) is open-mic and open-instrument! Occasionally pulls performers from as far away as Chicago, Detroit, and Indy! Really fun and friendly place 45 minutes south of Grand Haven and easy to get to. Gets very, very busy on Monday nights, so if you are really interested get here quite early - like 5:00 at the latest, or you will certainly wait in line outside - OR come late, like 7:30 for a late dinner and the last half of the set. Food is plenty good for a pub/roadhouse environment. Place has quite a long and storied history, ask some of the old-timers there about it!”
“Beautiful Lake Michigan is only a quick 30 minute drive West. This park offers picnic areas, playground, restrooms and exquisite views of Lake Michigan with miles of Lake Michigan beachfront for sunning, swimming or walking.”
