  • TWe have lived away from the family for nearly 6 years and have always found it tricky to visit due to accommodation prices and having dogs. We have found our new home away form home, it was the perfect size, dog friendly and exactly what we were looking for. The greeting gifts were greatly received are a long journey. The place is nicely decorated, and little things like carrier bags, milk for tea, washing up liquid and dvds , along with local take out menus and your nearest superstore were helpful. we know th area, but thought it was a great idea for those visiting first time. The location is lovely and quiet, it exceeded my expectations. Great little place to stay!

  • Beautiful brand new place with lots of little details that will make your stay perfect. The property was absolutely spotless. The decor is lovely and all was very good quality. There were local magazines up to date plus lots of leaflets with info about the area. Chris is clearly putting a lot of effort. Her attention to detail is outstanding. There was tea, coffee, sugar. Plus expreso coffee machine with capsules, fresh milk and mineral water. 5 minutes walk from the beach. Lovely sea views! Unfortunately we couldn't access the wifi service provided by the resort (not Chris's fault). Amazing host with a gorgeous place. Highly recommended.

  • We had a lovely stay here. It was so lovely to step outside, see the sea and hear the waves. The space worked brilliantly for us as a family of four adults. We walked into Lowestoft along the beach and had a great visit to Southwold. The November rain was no barrier to enjoying our trip and we found the space really generous. Chris was always very prompt at responding to messages and made us feel very welcome. One of our best Airbnb experiences!

    Julian2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • A great caravan! Chris is a fantastic host who left thoughtful touches and essentials throughout. Our doggie Lola loved the stay, plus the site staff were friendly and accommodating. A lovely little abode which we would aim to return to again

  • Fantastic stay! Michael and Mim went all the way to make our stay truly wonderful. From welcoming us as soon as we arrived, to the personal touches and little treats to make us feel right at home straight away. Fantastic view of the sea and not far from local places to visit. A wonderful weekend away. Recommended very much!

    Terry2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Michael and Mim were perfect hosts. Their attention to detail did not go unnoticed and all the little touches added to making a perfect couple of days away. The summer house is lovely and spotlessly clean. We went there for a complete switch off so therefore didn’t venture far however we did visit the Fritton Lake retreat where we had a delicious and reasonably priced lunch - well worth a visit. For the rest of our stay we just cosied indoors and enjoyed the unwind from the Xmas festivities.

  • My husband, Springer Spaniel and I stayed at the villa for the weekend. Gordon was great at staying in touch, the check in and check out was very easy and the villa was extremely clean, bigger than I had expected, and had everything we needed. The villa is a stones-throw from the marina, the restaurant and a parking area, perfect. There are plenty of walks from the doorstep to take the dog, remember a dog towel if your dog likes to swim! We were fortunate to have fabulous weather too. The only thing to be aware of is that mobile signal strength is very weak, there was only 3G (and sometimes nothing) and no WiFi in the villa. Many thanks to Gordon and Vikki .

  • We had lovely few days here with our children at the end of August. The villa is nicely decorated with a modern feel, spotlessly clean, with lovely extra touches left for us like tea, coffee and milk. The heated pool was right behind the house and is great for small children as it has a slope at one end and lots of fun inflatables. The small play area on-site would be better if it catered for smaller children also. As other guests have said, the food from the Chinese across the road is really nice, and there is a Tesco superstore just down the road. It's in a great location, easy to get to the bigger touristy places and was the perfect place to base ourselves. Thank you for a

  • Simone's place was perfect for our quick stay in Corton. The location is close to shops.

    Saxon2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place is absolutely lovely, spotless-clean and well organized. It was very peaceful although others unit near by were full too, and we made a good use of the friendly pub (serves hot food on evenings and only a minute walk from the house). There is a nice little shop which is part of the park and a very close ASDA if you need anything extra. Simone was very quick and efficient when communicating before our arrival and we felt we were in good hands. The house is very sweet and it's all new inside, including a fantastic shower room and kitchen. We loved it and we will be coming back in the future. Two things for you to notice - although there are curtains for all the windows, the rooms are not blackened and wake up time is with the sun. Also, the door to the house is made of glass and located right in front of the dining table and the shower room. You would want to think twice before you walk out of the shower naked, or leave valuables on the tables for everyone to see... Enjoy your stay, this place is great!

The East Wing self catering apartment is situated in the oldest 16th century part of the house, it was beautifully renovated and contains a 20 sq m bedroom with fabulous view, kingsize bed, original exposed oak beams, LED TV, antique chandelier. Large luxury bathroom is in Victorian style, with free standing bath near the window, rocking chair and antique chandelier. You can enjoy stunning view to the parterre and main lawn while taking a bath. Discover beautiful gardens, play on a tennis court.
Swafield Hall offers self-catering accommodation in a truly outstanding rural setting, within tranquil gardens and beautiful parkland, very close to the sea. Guests can stay in a beautifully restored private apartment, experience life in the Grade II listed Hall, discover its historical interiors, enjoy great views from the windows of the apartment and explore stunning gardens, a tennis court, a croquet lawn, a large Victorian conservatory with barbecue area. Swafield Hall estate is ideally located near the North Norfolk coast, close to the coastal resort of Mundesley with its wonderful sandy beach (5 min drive), but far enough from the noise of the popular sea resort. Swafield Hall is equidistant between two main tourist attractions in North Norfolk: Cromer (8 miles) and the Broads (8 miles). Sheringham is 13 miles. National Trust treasures Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall are both just in 10 miles from Swafield Hall. The house is mentioned in "The Buildings of England" by Nicolaus Pevsner and Bill Wilson and has an impressive brick and flint Tudor North facade and beautiful lime washed Georgian South elevation. Local legend reports that Admiral Horatio Nelson stayed in the house. He visited the local area many times and attended Paston Grammar School, North Walsham, until he was 12 years old. North Walsham is 2 miles from Swafield. At Swafield Hall guests can enjoy all beautiful gardens, use the tennis court, croquet lawn, barbecue, tables at the parterre for outdoor breakfasts / dinners, seating area in the large wooden Victorian style conservatory, outdoor sunbathing area with deck chairs and cocktail table, shaded relaxation area with a hammock near the parterre and the main lawn, relaxation area in the Arabian Secret garden with a lime tree canopy and two benches etc. The house has ample parking in the tudor courtyard. Guests' bicycles can be securely stored overnight. You can see the latest photos of Swafield Hall online (search SwafieldHall). The Butterfly reserve, Paston Way and Dilham to North Walsham canal (Norfolk’s only artificial, locked sailing canal) are 5 minutes walk from the Hall and ideal for leisurely walks or bicycle rides. The nearest villages are Swafield (1 mile) with the award winning local butcher Tavern Tasty Meats, Trunch (1.7 miles) with an excellent pub 'The Crown Inn' and famous classical concerts in Trunch Church during the summer season, and the Market Town of North Walsham (2 miles) containing several pubs and restaurants, the local Waitrose and Sainsburys.
The nearest villages to the estate are Swafield (1 mile), with famous local butcher Tavern Tasty Meats and Trunch (1.7 miles) with St Botolph church and a popular pub ‘The Crown Inn‘ . The most interesting part of St Botolph in Trunch is its magnificent wooden carved font canopy, one of only four such surviving canopies in all of England. The nearest coastal resort is Mundesley, with its wonderful sandy beach and great pubs (2.9 miles walk/drive). Nearby you can find some of the finest beaches the UK has to offer (Cromer 8 miles, Sheringham 13 miles) and the famous Norfolk Broads (8 miles). The nearby market town of North Walsham (2.5 miles) contains several restaurants, the local Waitrose and Sainsburys. Swafield village had an entry in the Domesday Book of 1085. The church of St Nicholas at Swafield has one of the few remaining Medieval Rood Screens in Norfolk. It was built in 13th or 14th centuries and extended in the 15th century. St Nicholas sits proudly on a hill and there is a beautiful view to the surrounding countryside, including view to Swafield Hall. The picturesque old railway track of the northern section of the Norfolk and Suffolk Joint Railway is just 5 minutes walk from Swafield Hall. It is now a public walkway (a part of the Paston Way footpath) and butterfly reserve. The railway was constructed in the 19th and 20th centuries, though unfortunately the section that linked Swafield to North Walsham was closed in 1964. Pigney’s Wood is 15 minutes walk, it is managed by North Norfolk Community Woodland Trust and serves as a haven for wild flowers, butterflies and birds. The site comprises 1.7 hectares mature mixed woodland, 7.8 hectares of new woodland, 8.5 hectares open ground and 5.5 hectares low-lying, wet grassland. Over 20,000 trees of forty species have been planted since the site was purchased in 1992. In Swafield the walkway along the old railway track crosses the course of the canal. Swafield is one of only a few villages in Norfolk with a canal – The North Walsham and Dilham Canal, which is the only canal in Norfolk. The canal was constructed and opened in 1826 and is 8.7 miles long and runs from Swafield Bridge to a junction with the River Ant at Smallburgh. The canal was constructed with locks a little wider than most canals in the UK to accommodate the use of the Norfolk wherries, hence the image of a wherry on Swafield’s village sign. Have a relaxing time wandering around, or rest on one of the benches and discover the local birds and wildlife.
  • Swafield Hall was perfect, we were travelling with our 2yr old who loved exploring the grounds which are perfectly maintained. The house is ideally located, close to the set off points for the broads and 5-10 minutes from the seaside. It is finished to a really high spec and spotless throughout. Boris and Tim were perfect hosts, friendly, yet they let you do your own thing and discover the grounds and surrounding areas in your own time. We had a great stay, thank you.

    Sello2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully thought out apartment with every amenity you could need. The Hall itself is kept clean and tidy with lovely little touches like fresh flowers and sparkling chandeliers. The bed was sumptuous and far too comfortable! The grounds are well planned, beautifully kept and full of colour and delightful scents. It is very hard to leave the hammock once you are settled there with a good book! Sadly we did not get time to play croquet on this visit though. As for Tim and Boris, you could not wish for nicer hosts. Erudite, friendly and always on hand to guide and help out. Many 5* hotel managers could take lessons from these guys. Go - you will love it!

  • Ideal location for lovely walks along the Norfolk coast, with local tips from the hosts and a charming house to stay in. What more could you want. Would highly recommend and would love to stay again.

  • Swafield Hall looks every bit as good in the flesh as it does in the photos. Beautiful clean apartment: comfy bed. Good kitchen and bathroom too. Shame about the less than perfect weather, but we cannot blame our host for that. The area is great, with plenty of wonderful places to see.

  • A charming and comfortable place to stay. The house and apartment are lovely with Tim & Boris being generous and welcoming hosts. We would gladly find ourselves staying here again when next visiting the Norfolk coast. Melinda & Peter

  • We had very high expectations from the reviews, but when we arrived the apartment was more generously proportioned than we thought—there was plenty of room for us and our 10 month old. The travel cot also saved us lots of boot space! Boris and Tim’s house and gardens are stunning. I’ve never had a bath with such a good view! There were very useful recommendations in the room and our hosts made it clear they would be around if needed. We and a wonderful time and will definitely be back!

With its attractive, vintage look, take a step back into the Georgian era, and let Sprowston Lodge welcome you to its breath-takingly beautiful acres of mature garden, and fantastic leisure facilities, including a gym, hot-tub, cinema room and snooker table. Situated just 10mins from the Broads and Norwich city centre this property is in an ideal location to truly enjoy all of what Norfolk has to offer.
This secluded Georgian villa away from all the hustle and bustle has all you need for your stay, no need to step foot outside the house and grounds. With its attractive, vintage look, take a step back into the Georgian era, and let Sprowston Lodge welcome you to its breath-takingly beautiful acres of mature garden, and fantastic leisure facilities. Situated a few hundred yards from the newly constructed NDR, (Northern Distributer Road, its easily accessible to all routes and is only a few miles from the vibrant city of Norwich where you can step back into the 21st Century. Voted one of the top ten shopping destinations in the UK, its two modern malls offer a great variety of shopping opportunities. But walk a few streets away from the city centre and you will find Norwich steeped in history with a Norman castle, cobbled medieval streets and cathedral, which has the second tallest spire in England. We have no shortage of great restaurants plus, there is said to be a pub for every day of the year and a church for every week! Very near the famous Norfolk Broads national park, drive 10 minutes to Wroxham where you can hire a boat, so don't forget to bring your fishing gear! It's only 30-45 minutes to miles of beautiful clean beaches, including more lively coastal resorts such as Great Yarmouth or Cromer (famous for its crabs). An hour's drive and you are in North Norfolk, birthplace of Nelson, and a hot spot for bird watching, particular in winter. There's so much to see in this county, not forgetting our share of beautiful stately homes such as Holkam and Blickling. There a great balance in Norfolk of seaside, countryside and city-life of all types. Perhaps that's why its voted the happiest place in the UK to bring up a family. But you don't even need to leave the house, as you can work out in the mini gym (provided by Millers Fitness; www.millersfitness.net) soak in the Jacuzzi under the stars, and overlooking the pond. Play billiards, ping-pong, or tinkle on the baby grand piano. There's a children's play area, with a cupboard of toys and board games for all ages, even a football machine! But even better, watch an action movie on our ultra high definition home cinema with surround sound. There's a good selection of blue ray films for young and old alike. Hopefully we've thought of everything. This Georgian, retro house is crammed with lovely vintage furniture, knick knacks, it has high ceilings, huge rooms and wide windows. Charmingly weathered and faded, it's a little worn in places, but still utterly fabulous. Greatly loved by its owners, we want you to share and feel in its magic. Come in the spring and marvel at the sea of daffodils in the wild garden!!! There's loads of parking, and bags of room for everyone, so visit with all your family and friends. Its only 3 minutes to a Tesco Extra and 2 minutes to a park and ride into Norwich. The welcoming discount price makes it totally affordable so you can't possibly be disappointed. Our only request is that please have a fun time, but take care of this gracious old lady, who speaks more of gentile afternoon tea in the garden rather than all night parties. She is however getting used to the modern touches we have installed, and is certainly looking forward to hearing the laughter of happy people enjoying themselves.
Set in quintessentialy english county parkland only one mile outside Norwich.

  • Brilliant place for a big family get together. The inside of the building isn't fancy but is warm and comfortable with lots to do if the weather is bad. Outside the grounds are great to explore, and the hot tub is a real treat.

  • Fantastic house! So much space, super comfy beds and all round perfect for a group looking to get away for the weekend. The house has quirky decor and all the amenities you need, it’s 3 mins away from a supermarket and easy to find! Can’t recommend it enough!

  • This property has everything you need for a great family time away! So much for kids to do and property was huge and very clean. Yes, as the description explains the interior is a little dated but this adds to the touch of the house and still has everything you need and more. We had a belated family Christmas weekend and Alex very kindly left all the Christmas decorations up longer for us which really made our stay special. Communication with host was great as well as access to the property and a very reasonable price for the size and location of the property. We would love to return here in the future for another family weekend and can happily recommend this beautiful house for a memorable family holiday.

    Lisa2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay, it’s a great place to stay with friends and has very unique features. The property is as described, we loved the hot tub and the games room. Alex is a great host and we would recommend this place.

Swafield Hall offers self-catering accommodation in a truly outstanding rural setting, within tranquil gardens and beautiful parkland. Swafield Hall estate is ideally located near the North Norfolk coast, on the road from Swafield village to the coastal resort of Mundesley, with its wonderful sandy beach (2.8 miles walk/drive). It is equidistant between two main tourist attractions in North Norfolk: Cromer (8 miles) and the Broads (8 miles). You can see recent photos of Swafield Hall online (search SwafieldHall). For larger parties the South Wing apartment can be rented together with Nelson’s Suite (+2), and/or with the East Wing (+2) providing accommodation for up to 9 guests. Nelson’s Suite is a luxurious 250 square feet private room, situated on the first floor of Swafield Hall. Nelson’s Suite retains its original features like antique plaster, bay windows, servants bell mechanisms, servants door and C18th enfilade doors. It sleeps 2 and contains a large lounge/bedroom with exposed oak beams, kingsize bed, 42″ flat screen TV, polished wood floors, crystal chandelier, antique furniture, bay sash windows and stunning views over the parterre and main lawn. It has its own en-suite with Victorian style shower and original fireplace. Please contact the owners if you would be interested in booking this room as part of your visit .
The nearest villages to the estate are Swafield (1 mile), with famous local butcher "Tavern Tasty Meats" and Trunch (1.7 miles) with St Botolph church and a popular pub ‘The Crown Inn‘ . The most interesting part of St Botolph in Trunch is its magnificent wooden carved font canopy, one of only four such surviving canopies in all of England. The nearest coastal resort of Mundesley, with its wonderful sandy beach and great pubs (2.9 miles walk/drive).

  • Me and my husband stayed at Swafield Hall for a weekend break and were so warmly welcomed by Boris and Tim. Their home has a lovely ambience as soon as you walk in, and both the house and gardens are beautiful. The room we stayed in was very clean and the added personal touches (chocolates on the bed and a chilled bottle of wine) were a pleasant surprise. They also gave us suggestions on places to visit and recommendations on where to eat. We loved it so much that we plan to return as often as we can. We highly recommend visiting Swafield Hall!

First week of Independent School Easter holiday free from 27th March. Last few weeks left in July/August. Sizeable 5 bedroom house only 160 yards to the pier. All 5 bedrooms have sea views & either en-suite shower or bath facilities. Able to accommodate a large family or multiple groups. Spacious lounge, separate dining room with view of garden, which has two dining areas. Additional internal seating area on the second floor with view of sea/lighthouse. Wi-fi Sky TV with Films/Sport Gas BBQ
    Whole house and garden.
Very close to Southwold Pier and within easy walking distance of the town.
  • Fantastic location, so close to the Pier, kids loved exploring the big house and lots of interior space. Short walk to all that Southwold has to offer. Atmospheric to see the lighthouse at night from the master bedroom window. Communication was great with host, we needed one thing and it was brought in under an hour. We will be back to Southwold!

  • A large and well equipped house which has everything you could possibly want, but the real icing on the cake is it's location, just a few minutes walk from the sea front and about 10 minutes to the town. I would highly recommend this property and will probably return there again.

    Nigel2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Well appointed, stylish house. Plenty of room for large parties and its great that each couple had their own en-suite. Brilliant lounge area where everybody could congregate and also a quiet seating area, for alone time. Great conservatory for group eating. The kitchen had everything you could need, with some lovely welcoming touches that had been left by the host. Well situated as just a very short walk to the pier and you could be in the centre in 5 mins. Would highly recommend and we will be visiting again.

  • With a vague description I wasn’t sure what I was expecting but wow it didn’t disappoint. The location is perfect for exploring Southwold. Daniels house was big with lots of great communal space which is always important when you travel as a group. The bedrooms all have en-suite which is also a huge bonus the only problem we found the second morning is we ran out of hot water for the last shower. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone looking at this listing.

    Sharon2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I visited Southwold for the weekend for my mum's 70th birthday. It was a surprise for her that we would all be there and there was no more perfect backdrop than Daniel's beautiful house. The house was great for the 10 of us; spacious, and in a perfect location right by the pier. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

    Victoria2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful spacious well equipped comfortable home, with everything you need for a short or longer break.

    John2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Daniel's house. The place is spacious, nicely furnished, has a lovely big kitchen and eating area and a great garden. All the bedrooms being en-suite was a nice bonus. Location couldn't be better either, with the pier literally at the end of the street and the beautiful centre of Southwold 5 minutes walk away. Daniel was great to deal with and super responsive in his communications. I couldn't recommend this place more!

  • Boris was an excellent host and communicated well with myself and my group before we arrived and during our stay. The house itself is beautiful, each room is spacious and clean, and there were some lovely personal touches all over the house for guests. We enjoyed exploring the grounds, playing games of croquet, and enjoyed walking to the beach and nearby towns during the day. Boris truly went above and beyond in making us feel comfortable and at home, and we will definitely look to return!

Nelson's suite is situated in the 18th century part of the house, it was beautifully renovated and contains a large lounge/bedroom with exposed oak beams, kingsize bed, 42″ TV, polished wood floors, crystal chandelier, antique furniture, bay sash windows and stunning views over the parterre and main lawn. It has its own luxury en-suite with victorian style shower and original fireplace. It doesn't have a kitchen but a kettle, microwave, fridge, crookery/cutlery are available in the conservatory
Nelson's suite retains its original features like antique plaster, bay windows, servants bell mechanisms, servants door and C18th enfilade doors. Swafield Hall offers accommodation in a truly outstanding rural setting, within tranquil gardens and beautiful parkland, very close to the sea. Guests can stay in a beautifully restored private apartment, experience life in the Grade II listed Hall, discover its historical interiors, enjoy great views from the windows and explore stunning gardens, a tennis court, a croquet lawn, a large Victorian conservatory with barbecue area. The nearest villages are Swafield (1 mile) with the award winning local butcher Tavern Tasty Meats, Trunch (1.7 miles) with a pub 'The Crown Inn' and famous classical concerts in Trunch Church during the summer season, and the Market Town of North Walsham (2 miles) containing several pubs and restaurants, the local Waitrose and Sainsburys.
  • Beautiful building in an amazing setting. We loved the gardens and Anton the dog. We did some scenic bike rides in the local area and further afield, did a trip to the broads and hung out in the conservatory and I wouldn't change anything from our trip. Amazing value and the rooms are even better than the photos show. Total gem! And Boris and Tim were really nice too!

  • The hall is an exceptional air bnb property, the hall is stunning with beautiful gardens. The Nelson suite looks over the garden and has a big comfy bed. Spotlessly clean. We would recommend anyone to come and stay.
