The Loft at the Old Forge is a self contained open plan apartment including king sized bed with electric blanket and kitchenette. There is a separate shower cubicle and a separate toilet with vanity unit. The apartment has been renovated to a high standard enjoying wonderful rural views. It is a light and airy space with well appointed modern decoration. The apartment is self contained with its own entrance, parking space and garden. It is a peaceful and restful get away.
The Loft is comfortable and benefits from a very quiet rural location. It is an ideal place to observe nature and appreciate the sense of space all around. We are situated close to national cycle routes 31, 1 and 517 and can provide locked bike storage if required.
We are situated within 10 minutes by car of Beccles on the southern edge of The Broads National Park. Beccles is an interesting, thriving and historical market town and a justifiably popular centre for exploring the Broads by car, boat, cycle and foot. We are blessed to live in beautiful countryside with walking and cycling from our doorstep. Our local pub is one mile away and serves delicious meals. Beccles offers numerous excellent supermarkets, shops and restaurants. We have many beaches nearby including Southwold and Aldeburgh. Minsmere is about 40 minutes away which combines bird watching with the extensive beach at Dunwich. The Waveney River Centre is just 2 miles down the road where there is an excellent pub and boat hire, with access to the Broads.

  • A perfect bolt-hole for a winter break, we've just stayed a few days and leave very happy we come. Clean, comfortable and simply but thoughtfully equipped, this was a great base to explore the local area including beautiful historic towns and some natural wonders (if you're staying in winter please head to Horsey Gap to see the seals!) We really appreciated the extra touches like fresh bread and coffee and how well the loft space has been used to include everything we could have needed.

  • We had a lovely short stay at Judy's Barn apartment. It was totally clean and tidy, but with a space to put muddy boots etc. Judy was there to welcome us and ensure we knew where everything was. We loved having a kitchen set up, and being able to cook some good meals. Its set up with with many things you might need, jugs, scales, whisk. We got lovely light in the morning through the big window and look forward to returning and having the window open and hearing and seeing the land across the fields.

Chris and Lesley welcome you to their two person Studio which is an ideal place from which to explore the lovely North Norfolk countryside and coast. Located in a very quiet location, overlooking fen meadow which is a wildlife haven, the Studio offers a high standard of accommodation. Luxuriate in a super king sized bed ( can be split into singles) with Egyptian cotton bedding. Stay snug in winter with underfloor heating. Bathrobes are provided for you to lounge around in.
A self contained Studio in rural North Norfolk. It is situated in the Broads National Park but lies close to the coast. Overlooking fen meadow you will see plenty of wildlife including deer, barn owls, marsh harriers, buzzards. If you are really lucky you may see a crane or a bittern.
The Studio is located in the Broads National Park close to winding waterways and the lovely sandy beaches of North Norfolk. We are located right next door to the long distance footpath route the Weavers Way. From this route there are a number of circular walks that can be undertaken. Canoes can be hired locally as can bikes. Broadland cycle hire offers free delivery to our area. There is a carp fishing lake in the village for which day tickets can be bought. Day boats can be hired from a number of locations nearby.
  • The Studio is in a great location with great views of the sunset over the fen. The Studio was exacrly as described and Chris and Lesley were really welcoming, greeting us upon arrival, showing us around The Studio and giving us lots of hints and tips of places to eat and things to do. The Studio has everything you need to be self catered and there was even a little starter hamper (with milk / freshly baked bread / lemon drizzle cake / cookies / jam etc) waiting for us when we arrived along with some freshly picked flowerson the table. Would highly recommend staying here.

  • I stayed in Caxton Studio for 2 nights whilst in the area on a work trip. I found it very comfortable and everything I needed for my stay was there. There is an off-road parking space right outside the flat which was great. The shower is very good! The host gave me a warm welcome and left fresh milk in the fridge for my arrival which is always nice. The area is very quiet, I had no problems getting to sleep. Great for a solo traveller looking for somewhere affordable to stay near the Suffolk coast.

  • Steff and her husband are a friendly and welcoming couple. Nothing was too much trouble. We both had a very pleasant stay. The accommodation is cosy, although it was nice we were given a fan as did get very warm. I would imagine it must be very toasty in the winter. The beds are very comfy and we would definitely visit again if we are in that vicinity.

    Katy2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • The studio loft was clean, new and well-appointed. It’s in the driveway of a beautiful home on a quiet residential street. The community of Brundall doesn’t have much in terms of shops and services, but the train station is only a ten minute walk from the unit. The train to Norwich - which has more than you’d ever need - is only a ten minute ride that cost £7.80 return for two of us. We went for a quiet weekend away and it was perfect. Pauline had milk in the fridge and coffee and tea at the ready, as well as local guide books and a detailed guide for the apartment. The bed was comfortable and the shower was nice after a day of walking.

    Tami2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a great find Pauline's place is. Apart from being a fantastic location, the studio apartment, which is self contained, is modern but more importantly immaculate. When I return to the area I hope Pauline's place is not already booked as anywhere else could only be a disappointment.

'The Old Warehouse' is a refurbished serviced loft apartment in a converted 18th century warehouse situated on the quayside in the centre of Norwich. With open-plan living, a great kitchen, two very comfortable bedrooms, lovely modern bathroom and a dedicated private parking space. We provide a complimentary range of tea and coffee and linens and towels along with TV, unlimited broadband, a DAB radio and a Bluetooth sound system. Please note that check-in is 3pm.
The Old Warehouse is a serviced apartment situated on the river in the historic Tombland area of the city centre of Norwich. The apartment has views of the 1000 year old cathedral from both the master bedroom and open-plan living area. All the amenities Norwich has to offer i.e. its theatres, restaurants, bars and museums are all walking distance while at the same time the riverside walk with its ancient monuments and walk up to the cathedral close is also right on the doorstep. Potential guests should therefore note that while the location along the quayside with the river, willow trees, geese and swans looks amazing this property is nonetheless in the city centre; in the bustling Tombland district with its restaurants, cafes and a few pubs. As a consequence, if you are looking for an absolutely 'silent' break this apartment probably is not suitable. However, if you read all the amazing reviews for this apartment you will see that the significant majority of our guests have thoroughly appreciated being right 'in the centre' and not at all minded some occasional noise from the local area.
The Old Warehouse is situated on the river in the heart of Norwich's historic Tombland (an old Nordic word for an area of land not a reference to potentially more sinister sounding 'tombs') Here you will find the 1000 year old cathedral, the castle and many medieval buildings and churches which rightly deserve exploration. A very short stroll along the river or up the medieval street called Elm Hill takes you into the city which provides for a cinema in a converted 15th century Baronial Hall (Cinema City), the Theatre Royal and Playhouse and Maddermarket theatres and a host of shopping and dining experiences. The Tombland area itself, where the apartment is located, is a popular area at weekends with a host of pubs and a string of restaurants serving Argentinian, Japanese, Italian and Indian food - you will be spoiled for choice. As a consequence, if you are looking for a break that consists of silence around you, this apartment may not be for you. If however, you want to be immersed in a city centre location with the convenience of everything from castles, cathedrals and river walks to restaurants and pubs all to hand then this is the spot for you.
  • Had a great stay at the apartment. It is excellently located for access to all the city’s amenities and had a private parking space which was great. Would definitely stay again and recommend the apartment to anyone looking to stay in Norwich.

Newly renovated loft apartment,in a central historic building, located in the town centre.
This newly refurbished loft apartment is located in a beautiful, historic building right in the centre of the busy market town of Beccles. Though small in size, Beccles is rich in character and boasts a great selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, all within walking distance from the apartment. There is also an outdoor swimming pool, from which you can catch the Black Dog ferryboat to Geldeston Locks, and a stunning quayside for those who want to spend a bit more time by the river. The apartment is set above what was once an old tailor’s, called ‘Frank Fosters’, but is now the bustling café, Twyfords, renowned for its cakes, ice cream, chocolate and coffee, all produced locally by the owner. With its great location, modern amenities and quaint charm, this is the perfect apartment for a long weekend in the country.
  • Thank you Richard we loved the apartment and hope to return one day. Thanks for the mince pies, coffee etc, very nice touches and very much enjoyed. The apartment is very stylish but also really comfortable and the kitchen is so well equipped! We also had breakfast in Twyfords and it was excellent as always. I left Beccles 20 years ago and i still haven’t found a cafe I love as much! The staff were great and very accommodating with the twins.

  • This apartment is in a great location, lovely and clean and fully equipped.

    Jennifer2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was an enjoyable and easy place to stay. Two big double beds in one spacious bright attic room. A small fully equipped kitchen is adjoining. Very happy to find some real coffee and a pint of milk in the fridge on arrival. Beccles, is a quaint town with a good selection of restaurants. There is a cafe directly below the apartment which is pleasant but pricey , but opposite is a hotel that provides a hearty cheap breakfast. Less than ten minutes walk is a small Lido if you want an early morning swim. There's a direct train journey to Lowestoft that takes 18 minutes if you want to explore the beaches. Highly recommend a visit.

    Karin2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Really easy to find and access, beautifully clean and a perfect location to explore this beautiful town. Cafes and Restautants all within a short walk and great use of the space. Great find and will hopefully use again in the future

  • An absolutely wonderful place to stay to get way from it all. Very easy to access and everything has been thought off for an uninterrupted and very restful holiday in a beautiful spot.

    David2019-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant stay in Erpingham, the loft was lovely, quiet and very well equipped. Brilliant location with great walks and cycle routes right outside the door.

    Annabel2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication from the owners regarding arrival. A hamper of essentials, wine, juices, bread and eggs from their own hens waiting for you to arrive, so no need to worry about having to find a supermarket straight away. The loft was spotlessly clean. A good selection of cutlery crockery and glassware are provided. Crisp bed linen for the spacious bed and a freshly laundered selection of soft towels are provided too. Nice quiet location with a great view across the fields. The balcony area gets the evening sun....great to sit and read, listening to the wildlife or just to relax. Can't wait to go back

Decor is new and fresh, contemporary. Well lit with Velux roof windows. Warm and cosy when it’s cold...cool and well-ventilated when it’s hot
It’s an apartment in the loft
Quiet residential area, with a well-stocked grocery store/post-office about 5min walk.
  • Pete is a warm host, and the place is full of tranquility. Highly recommend Pete’s loft apartment.

Very private self contained studio, in beautiful surroundings. Great restaurants, cafe, pubs just a stone throw away, close to the railway station and the Norfolk broads. Two minute walk to the River Yare .
  • A perfect place for our weekend break in Norwich. A really peaceful spot with a nice outlook. Didn't need the car, an easy walk down hill to the pub and Indian restaurant on one night and a bus to Norwich available at the bottom of the road for our day out in Norwich. We were out most of the time so didn't see much of Claire and James but both were friendly and Claire very responsive to messages prior to the visit. Would happily use this property again if back in the area.

    Richard2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This Little Hideaway is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the loft being a self contained quiet piece of heaven. Claire and James are brilliant hosts, there if you need anything not if you don’t, and the special personal touches are a credit to them. I would definitely recommend anyone who is looking for somewhere special to contact Claire and book the Little Hideaway. You won’t regret it. Thank you both for a fabulous break. Theresa, Steve and Poppy

  • A cosy retreat by Norwich's riverside and tucked away in an upmarket location. Lovely hospitable hosts and nice touches. Thanks so much

    Tamsyn2019-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful! It feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere and with how beautiful the weather was, we felt like we were abroad! So close to the river where you can sit in the pub garden and watch the world go by, you can even hire a boat. So close to the city too if you want to go as well as the Norfolk broads. Really worth a visit. We’ll be back for sure!

  • Diana and Alun catered to our every need and then some. They pointed out all the best spots in Norwich, all of which were a quick walk away. We couldn't recommend them highly enough! The loft space was well equipped, and contained thoughtful additions to our stay! And the cat was adorable too

  • My second/third time staying. Always amazing hospitality. Can’t recommend this Airbnb enough. Thank you for a lovely stay.

    Alexandra2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • We spent three nights at Diana's and Alun's loft and it was wonderful! The loft is small but very comfortable and makes you feel like at home. The views from the window were especially great! And having the option to eat some breakfast at the apartment was very pleasant. Diana and Alun were very friendly and helpful with anything we needed, and they gave us good tips and instructions for going around the city. The apartment was almost at the city center and it was easy to go for a walk to any direction, short distances to plenty of shops and endless amount of different restaurants. Warm recommendation for a stay in the beautiful city!

    Anne2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • The loft was exactly as the information states. Quite spacious, nice bed, coffee and tea making facilities available, as is a small fridge and microwave. Just a very short stroll from city centre. Places to eat close by. Both Diana asnd Alun are exellent hosts and make you very welcome. Always on hand for help or a chat. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Highly recommended.

    Joyce2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Diana and Alun's room is an ideal base from which to explore Norwich. It is only a few minutes walk to the centre of the City and all its fascinating history. There is space to leave a car which is very useful in Norwich! The room is clean, warm and comfortable with a lovely view across the rooftops. The shower was especially appreciated after days exploring. Alun and Diana are considerate hosts with plenty of advice on where to go in Norwich, especially the numerous restaurants and bars!

    Nige2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my mum enjoyed a truly exceptional long weekend stay at Diana and Alun's beautiful Norwich home. They are wonderful hosts and great to talk with. The loft space is excellent - warm, with plenty of space and great amenities. Also, the house is in an excellent location to explore the city. From the moment we walked through the door, we felt welcome and at ease. We highly recommend staying at Diana and Alun's!

    Céline2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Diana and Alun’s house was so comfy and very cool. A view from the room was exactly like the photo on airbnb. It was located near Norwich Cathedral and many other nice spots in Norwich. Especially Diana and Alun were so kind and warm so I could feel like home even though I flew out more than 12 hours. Also Lucy❤️ is super super cute and lovely. I really enjoyed staying this cool house. Thank you Diana and Alun.

Lovely airy, light space with a wood burning stove and facilities for independent living. The room lies at one end of a family home, above the old coach house. Ideal for two people, and a double futon available for two extra people on request.
The studio conversion is integral to an old thatched farmhouse where we live, which dates back to at least the 15th century. We are slowly and (hopefully) lovingly, restoring it.
Strumpshaw is very quiet, yet within easy reach of The Broads, the beautiful Norfolk Coast, and Norwich. We have a local farm shop in Blofield. Strumpshaw boasts the beautiful RSPB Bird Reserve and a Steam Museum.
  • The loft is a fabulous place to stay. It is bright, warm, spacious, cosy and very well equipped. We felt so at home here and miss it already! Mary, Michael and Tsampa are lovely hosts and we were made to feel extremely welcome. Beautiful accommodation in a stunning part of Norfolk.

  • These hosts are very helpful and considerate and their space is wonderfully clean and welcoming - if you like golden retrievers, they will share their beloved dog; if that's not your thing, he will keep a respectful, well-trained distance. This really does feel like a "home away from home."

    Pamela2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at Mary and Michael's loft. They provided the perfect home for us for our transition from Oslo back to the UK. The loft was actually what we called home for the first few weeks. Mary and Michael were friendly and accommodating without being intrusive but always available if we needed them. Full of knowledge and advice, they helped us find our feet in the area. The loft is an excellent: spacious, clean and quiet. The perfect home away from home. Strumpshaw is lovely also with easy bus links to town. But a day walking around Strumpshaw and to the Fen, followed by a trip to the local pub is an excellent day as well. We cannot say thanks enough to Mary and Michael. They extended kindness above and beyond our expectations. Our son Ethan has grown very fond of you both and your amazing home (and Tsampa as well). If you are lucky enough to stay at this amazing home, enjoy it all. It was an experience we will always treasure.

    Glenda2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent for two people, well equipped and comfortable. Excellent situation for seeing The Broads and reserves, all quite close by.

    Sue2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • A warm family welcome with amazing hospitality, a cosy studio with all amenities to a very high standard and cleanliness. A home from home feeling. Short distance from the railway station.

    David2019-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Mary and Michael were very welcoming into their family home, incredibly pleasant and approachable. The studio is a fantastic hide, the space, amenities and cleanliness all to a very high standard. A lovely little personal touch was the local honey, museum voucher and lots of tips on local trips. Would highly recommend and will most definitely make a return visit.

The Sail Loft is a self contained apartment. We are in a very quiet country lane and you will find plenty of parking on the drive. Although seeming remote we are centrally located for visiting Woodbridge, Felixstowe and Ipswich, all of which are approximately 5 miles away. There is plenty of sailing, walking and bird watching in the area. We are spoilt for choice with regard to eating out and the prom in Felixstowe is great for a coffee on a sunny morning.
The Sail Loft has an open plan living, kitchen, dining area with tv. The kitchen has a small fridge, toaster, microwave and kettle. Please note there is no oven or hob. There is a king sized bed in the bedroom and another tv. The shower room is off the bedroom and the sitting area has a corner sofa for relaxing. We have wifi but living in the countryside this can be a bit hit and miss. All bedding and towels are provided. Due to our location you may want to bring some provisions. Our nearest supermarket is approximately 3-4 miles away.
We live in a quiet country lane and there are no street lamps so if you decide to venture out on foot to the local pub in the evening you will need to take a torch. The accommodation overlooks the River Orwell which is a busy river with passing ships and many sailing activities taking place. Our local marina Suffolk Yacht Harbour can easily be reached on foot.

  • A great location for touring the Suffolk coastline, marsh and heath lands. We loved being able to get out and bird watch in peaceful surroundings. The countryside was at its best in the Autumn colours and sunshine. We particularly liked to come back to the property and relax in a hot bath and then lie in a very comfortable bed......brill!

  • This is a really lovely space, overlooking a wildlife pond from a vantage point on top of a workshop in a sturdy wooden building. Very quiet rural setting with only faint traffic noise from the nearby A12 - tranquility combined with accessibility. A gentle awakening each morning from a cockerel crowing and the occasional horse whinny and donkey bray. Access is via an outside wooden staircase which would not suit those with reduced mobility. Edward and Sabina were welcoming hosts both in person and through the excellent and informative material left in the room.

  • Lovely Apartment in an ideal central location for bars and restaurants. Ideal for a weekend getaway. Highly recommend.

    Kevin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cathedral loft is a beautiful place to stay. The location was perfect for shopping, dining, access to public transit and is located perfectly between the castle and the cathedral. The interior is beautifully designed and lovely to be in. We were there in February so couldn’t really take advantage of the outdoor space but in the right season would be amazing. I think I remember some reviews about hearing noise from the surrounding clubs, we had no issues with that. I highly recommend staying here!!

    Karen Haviland2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great location right in the heart of Norwich, right in the pedestrian zone, steps from the Cathedral. Unique space, very bright and light as upstairs. We'd happily stay again.

    Matt2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • I was a lovely place to stay. Walking distance to everywhere in city centre. If wifi works would be perfect. I will be happy to stay in the cathedral loft anytime.

    Jing2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really great apartment for a girls weekend. It’s a really beautiful space with thoughtful touches. There is noise from the neighbouring nightclubs but that’s to be expected being so central.

    Emma2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely apartment with excellent location. Roof terrace was a special bonus!

    Jyrki2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • First off, this flat is *stunning* - the building is beautiful, the space is immense and luxurious. The location could barely be bettered either, near Tombland, the Cathedral and lots of bars and restaurants. If I had to pick one fault, it's that the location is almost too good - on a weekend night, there's a lot of sound and music from the nearby bars, and if you're a light sleeper, you might struggle. But that's it!

  • Thanks to Lee and his wife, we’ve had such a wonderful experience in Suffolk. The lodge is in the middle of nowhere, which was perfect because we had the best sleep ever.. No train, car, ambulance noises to disturb us in the middle of the night (we’re based in a London)! If you’re looking for a lovely quiet getaway, get in touch with Lee. Fantastic host and all we expected!
