Home sits in the middle of 24 acres of Christmas trees, hay and natural areas. A somewhat secluded and private location. Owner has taken great strides to keep home free of allergens and can not have animals in the house. This is a functional farm and has many pieces of equipment that could be hazardous to out of control children. There is also a swing set, monkey bars, a hidden tree house and natural areas to explore. There are usually free range chickens and ducks wandering around.
  • Delta freedom farm is very clean, quiet, & accommodating. James is very kind, Friendly and easy to talk with. The bedroom is large and right next to a very beautiful bathroom.

  • My Daughter and I had a wonderful stay at your beautiful house. The room was stunning and spacious, lots of land and good conversation. I can’t tell you how much I struggled trying to find a place in the Toledo area and after looking at about fifteen places I decided to widen my search. I was glad I did because your house is a Gem. Thanks again for hosting us. We look forward to staying again the next time we are in town.

    Gerhard2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed here a few times for work and out of all the Airbnb’s I’ve stayed at, this one is by far the nicest and cleanest I have been to. These perks are also accompanied by a phenomenal host. If you are going through Delta or the surrounding areas this place is a “must stay”.

Owners of a rural and operational drive-in movie theater offering one first-floor bedroom for rent. Drive-in operates weekends only mid-April - mid-September. Check the drive-in website at www.fieldofdreamsdrivein.com to see if we will be showing movies on the nights you reserve. Our old farmhouse is unique enough (circa 1840), but we built a drive-in movie theater in our back "yard" in 2007 and it has grown into a thriving two-screen outdoor theater! The drive-in is open seasonally (mid-April - mid-September) on the weekends. Check the drive-in website at www.fieldofdreamsdrivein.com to see if we will be showing movies on the nights you reserve.
We live on a rural one-lane road in northwest Ohio. Neighbors are not too close by, but are all active farms. Livestock visible on walks include cattle, pigs, llama and horses. We are close to scenic rivers and state parks with excellent hiking trails. Historic Grand Rapids, Ohio is nearby with unique shopping and trails. Archbold, Ohio boasts Sauder Village for those who enjoy historic/educational activities. Northwest Ohio enjoys many unique venues for outdoor enthusiasts, antique hunters and history buffs.
  • This was the first time I stayed at a house where I rented a room. I was kinda weary on what i was getting myself into but I needed something affordable. It was the best decision I had made and so glad i did it. Donna and Rod are awesome. I felt as if I was home. They had anything I needed. I didnt need to go to a laundry mat. That was definitely a plus. So if u are on the fence on renting a room, I highly recommend Donna and Rod. U will not b disappointed.

Smaller private cottage located in a park like setting on the water. Ideal for a couple's get-away. This is a one room 16'X20' studio apartment which includes a separate bathroom and two pull out sofas that can sleep 4. The sofas have a double thick mattresses for comfort. The entire cottage has been remodeled and features a new kitchen and a new bath. You'll have free use of 2 kayaks and a canoe, along with life preservers and paddles. Firewood is provided on a donation basis.
The best features of this cottage are obvious: You are situated in the middle of nature, in a relatively new cottage (opened Oct 2019), with a wonderful view of the river. This is river front property and access to the river comes along with your use of the cottage. This is an entirely different experience than staying in the center of town. The location gives it a value that goes beyond a urban cottage. In the area are one of a kind restaurants, 10 miles of walking trails, and an old grist mill in Grande Rapids. In season there are local festivals, famous walleye fishing, and barge rides on an old canal, just to name a few. For the sake of those who come after you: Well trained dogs are welcome. Cats are best left home since other people may be allergic to them. Smoking is limited to outside the building.
There is a walking/bicycling/cross country skiing trail that abuts the property and runs for 10 miles along the Maumee River from Waterville, Ohio to Grand Rapids, Ohio.
  • Amazing place to stay! Robert is truly great and welcoming and you cannot beat the view!

  • Peaceful winter retreat for a couple or small family. Access to a lovely walking trail.

  • I loved this little place. It's very convenient off of Hwy 24. Very easy to get to everything on the south side of Toledo. It's a perfect size for a couple. The view of the river was really quaint. You're feet away from the Towpath that follows the river for miles so a great place to jog or bike. Robert was a very helpful host before and throughout the stay. I even ran into some neighbors that were very friendly. Thanks for allowing my dog Grover to tag along!

Welcome to Camp Widewater, a hidden gem nestled into the quaint small towns and farmlands of the Northwest Ohio mosaic. We are opening up our camp to you, for rest and relaxation, nothing beats the peace and serenity that can be found on this 100 acre property. If you are looking for a peaceful get away, to connect with nature, or even just a place to crash for the night, look no further than our little slice of heaven. Other rooms available for rent on site.
You will be provided with a room for sleeping inside our Harmony Lodge which overlooks the beauty of camp. Shared restrooms (a la dorm style) are located down each of the two sleeping hallways. Quiet shared spaces include a small galley kitchen, a cozy fireside living room area, and a large spacious dining room. There are also seven miles of trails to explore, as well as being directly adjacent to the Buckeye Trail for additional hiking opportunities. Just a short 5 minute drive into either Liberty Center or Grand Rapids, Ohio for unique shopping and dining experiences. Located close to state route 24, route 6, or 65 for quick access to either Toledo, Defiance, Bowling Green, or Napoleon.
There are so many great parks and towns to explore in this area. It would be difficult to choose just one. I really enjoy going in to both Liberty Center and Grand Rapids for food and shopping. They have so many unique shops, I enjoy the feel of shopping local versus driving into the city.
  • We spent a night here with our toddler while traveling for Christmas. The rooms are entirely made up of single sized beds only, due to it being camp lodging (we shoved two together, and it worked). The common areas were cozy, inviting, and attractively decorated for Christmas, the breakfast of cold cereal and juice was great, and the coffee wonderful. This may not be the greatest place for young kids due to the bathrooms being in a common area (no sink or anything in your private space). Their was a fridge and microwave in the common hallway just outside our door. All in all, it was a lovely place, and the price was amazing! We would come again.

  • Harmony Lodge was exactly what you’d expect from a Methodist camp out in the country. The setting was quiet, definitely off the beaten path. The Lodge itself was clean and had everything we needed and more. Common spaces were lovely for our kids to explore (especially watching the fish and turtle in the lobby), and the room was plenty big for our family of 9 (including the youngest two in pack and plays between the beds). Linens and shower toiletries were provided. A simple breakfast (that our kids thoroughly enjoyed) was provided in the communal dining room: 5-6 varieties of cold cereal and granola, oatmeal, pop tarts, bananas, milk and juice, with coffee and hot cocoa available. My expectations for the coffee were low, but it was surprisingly adequate. :-) Rachel (the camp director who lives in a house on-site) was a great host, friendly, communicative, and helpful. For example, when we asked if there was a fridge available, she found a unit to bring to our room. The only marginal downsides I could think of are the comfort of the beds (they are standard “summer camp bunk” mattresses...almost felt like air mattresses; would be problematic for a long stay, but tolerable for a few nights) and the slightly inconvenient location (10-15 minutes off the interstate on small country roads). These are more than balanced by the incredible value (can’t beat the price when you’re a family with 7 kids) and the other positives from our experience.

  • We loved Bob and Cathy's hospitality, food, setting, home, and the quaintness of Grand Rapids, OH. We both are intrigued with older homes with history and this place has some wonderful history that you will hear from Bob and Cathy!

    Barbara2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastically beautiful home, we were quite comfortable, and found some new amazing detail every time we walked through a room. We actually stayed in tej Autumn room with the communal bathroom shared by three bedrooms. The bath is very cleverly designed, and offers much privacy, function, and beauty, so don't let the idea of sharing a bath stop you from booking o e of the beautiful upstairs bedrooms! Bob and Cathy are charming hosts and love to share their home's interesting history. Grand Rapids packs a lot in to a tiny town with several very good restaurants and charming shops along a beautiful stretch of the Maumee River. We really enjoyed our weekend in Grand Rapids!

  • This is a beautiful historic home that is very clean and beautifully furnished. Our room was wonderful and the bed super comfy! Beautiful view of the historic Maumee river and Missionary island. Enjoy the free use of kayaks and canoe. We also provide firewood. We are pet friendly. Must have leash when outside. If you would like to bring your pet , there is a $ 50.00 ( non-refundable ) charge at check-in.
Hi - We are looking forward to your stay! Since we are secluded, you'll need the following directions to find us: We are approximately 2 1/2 miles west of downtown Waterville. You'll know you're getting close when you see a sign that reads "Neowash Road - 1/2 mile". We are the second drive on the left just past Neowash. (9001 S. River Road, Waterville, Ohio 43566) . Once you've turned left into the driveway, go past the house, down the hill and through the woods until you see a wooden stop sign. You'll then see another wooden sign on your right that reads "Riverwood". Enter there and go to the 2nd cottage on your right (river side). (There is a green sign that reads "Riverwood" with a duck on each side). The sliding glass door will be unlocked and your key will be on the hook between the kitchen and pantry. We have 2 kayaks and a canoe as well as plenty of free firewood. You'll also have the use of fishing poles and tackle. The Alero gas station in town sells bait if you need it. The islands have some neat inlets that you can explore nature while you guys canoe or kayak. ALSO: To get a better idea of the area, please log onto the Toledo Area Metro Parks site. On the home page you'll see a picture of the Isaac Ludwig Lumber Mill and the famed Erie Canal at Providence Park. They offer mule driven canal rides and is just 8 miles up the trail from your cottage in Grand Rapids. Click on the "Explore Your Parks" tab at the top of the home page. There are three parks that are connected by an 8 mile hiking trail along the beautiful Maumee River. The parks connected by this trail are Farnsworth, Bend View, and Providence. The trail starts at Farnsworth Park (just a 1/2 mile east) and runs right past your cottage. Unless you have a bike, I would head east to Farnsworth since it's so close and there are restrooms and other modern day amenities! To get to Providence Park, I would suggest driving the short yet scenic road that takes you along the river. Just past Providence is Thurston Park that offers you an opportunity to catch those huge catfish I spoke of in my listing! You can't visit Grand Rapids without stopping by La Roe's Rustic Restaurant. They offer seating on a deck with a great view of the historic Maumee River and they're known for some of the best food around! There website is "l(URL HIDDEN) I also listed a few restaurants on my home page in Waterville which is just a couple miles up the road from your cottage. Hope this helps plan your trip! • The hosts, Kathy and Ron, were extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. We were traveling after work to get to our niece's wedding rehearsal, and wedding the following day. We weren't sure of our check-in given the tight travel schedule and driving mostly in rush hour. They reassured us with a back-up plan for check-in and then even sent a message about traffic when they were out and about. They were thoughtful in making sure we had a place to get changed prior to the wedding late the next afternoon. These are consummate inn-keepers. They know what they are doing and they know how to make people feel comfortable. The room was well appointed and clean. The site of the inn is delightful, with the brick patio in the back and a view onto a park with the river. Grand Rapids is a classic turn of the century small town. Many of the businesses in this area were either restaurants, galleries, or antiques. What a great spot for a short get away. Kathy and Ron are also very friendly and we enjoyed visiting with them over coffee after we devoured the delicious breakfast.

  • Staying at the Mill House with Kathy and Ron could not have been better. The room was nice and spacious, the atmosphere relaxing, and we really enjoyed getting to know both the hosts and other guests at the Mill House over breakfast. Grand Rapids is a quiet little town with nice shops and the right sprinkling of good food to make a weekend getaway work for us. They communicated quite well and were very helpful in orienting us to what was available in the area to do and see. It made our anniversary very special to be with such wonderful people in a relaxin place like Grand Rapids.

Beautiful view of the Maumee River & Missionary Island. Enjoy the free use of our kayaks, canoe, and fire wood. Not for the faint of heart however. This is an old cottage nestled in the woods and with any rustic setting, you may have bugs and ants. We do have well water. We are pet friendly. Must have leashes when outside. If you would like to bring your pet, there is a $ 50.00 ( non-refundable ) fee when arriving.
The main bedroom is very large and has a king size bed, small sofa, and gas fireplace. The second bedroom is very small and only sleeps one. The living room has a futon bed that sleeps 2 . There is also a regular sofa that is very comfortable. This is a place where people come to "recharge their batteries". The scenery has a way of relieving stress and the words we hear the most from our guests is "peace & quiet".
To get a better idea of the area, please log in to the Toledo Metro Parks website. If you have children there is a playground that they'll just love. I also listed a few restaurants on my home page in Waterville which is just a couple miles up the road from your cottage. There are 2 kayaks and a canoe that you can use to navigate the inlets of the islands that are directly across from your cottage. Hope this helps plan your trip! Cathy Hanson
  • Great location on the river. Very much as advertised. Would recommend bringing your own water for cooking if you're sensitive about the smell of sulfer. The kayaks and canoes are right there, the place is clean and comfortable and the host is super easy to work with and very personable

  • Super people cant wait to go there again

    David2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Cathy is a great host. The place is perfect. Rustic, great river access, & river views. Really nice outdoor fire ring, kayaks, a canoe, and grill all provided. Perfect for a weekend get away to recharge with old friends. This is our 3rd summer staying with Cathy, and we can’t recommend it enough. Do yourself a favor and book a stay some weekend and enjoy yourself!

    Joseph2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • The host was very friendly and made our stay a very memorable and enjoyable time.

    William2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • The quaint cottage is a perfect secluded get away. The river views and wooded property are idyllic. A wonderful place to relax and unwind.

    LeAnna2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • The house is exactly as described. 4 adults and 2- 2 years olds stayed comfortably. Right on the river, the setting is private without being secluded. It's beautiful there. But honestly the best thing about the stay was the hosts. Cathy and Parker are so kind and helpful. They went above and beyond. They are close by and never made us feel like a bother if we needed something. They also never initiated contact so if you want to be left alone this is a great place for that too. An example of their hospitality - the mosquitos were pretty bad because of recent flooding. My son got bit a lot and when they saw his poor face Parker used their own personal fogger to try to get rid of them in the yard and Cathy GAVE us a tube of her own supply of kids anti-itch cream. Obviously mosquito bites outside on the river have nothing to do with them or their property but they were right there ready to do whatever they could. They also have 2 pet ducks and when it was time to let them out they called my son over to help, which he LOVED. They are very kind people and I hope we can go stay with them again soon. Thanks for a nice relaxing time guys, we'll be back!

    Lauren2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very clean and the hosts went above and beyond for us. It was well worth the price, I would highly recommend!

    Daniel2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cathy and Parker are amazing hosts! We LOVE this place and will definitely be back. Every time we come here we feel so at home! The fishing is amazing and the accommodations are even better. If you're looking for a cozy cottage to rest and relax in, this is the place!

Each of our tents comes carpeted and with a super comfortable queen-size mattress, silverware, plates, cups and glasses, and solar lights. Stoves & fire ring grill available. Located next to a small 90-site campground, The Eco Camp is just outside of Oak Openings Metropark. This tent is dog friendly (dog fee: $20/night).
The Winter Camping Experience In the winter, you can look forward to cross country skiing or a hike through the snow and then returning to your warm and cozy tent. Even when it is 10 degrees outside, the heater in your yurt will keep you warm. Toilet available. Our Winter Yurts are furnished with a super comfortable queen bed and optional cot for a child. The Winter Yurt comes heated with a vented propane heater. Guests can order propane when booking or bring their own propane bottle. Whether you are hiking the mile-long trails of Oak Openings, come kayaking on the Maumee river, go biking on the Wabash Cannonball, or you are arriving by car - The Eco Camp is your home in nature. Featuring luxurious and spacious tents for up to four persons, we provide almost everything you need for a worry-free stay. WHAT MAKES THE ECO CAMP ECO-FRIENDLY? The Eco Camp follows Leave No Trace - we aim to have minimal impact on the environment. We are working towards achieving sustainable standards in all aspects of our business. Our tents are made of natural canvas instead of petroleum-based fabrics. They are breathable and comfortable, even when it gets a bit warm outside. No live trees were cut to create our campsites. All on-site operations are solar-powered. From our vacuum cleaner to the morning coffee - the Airstream Office is supplied by solar power. Instead of propane grills, we encourage the use of our community fire ring for cooking. All wood for the fire ring comes right from the 15-acre property. OUR TENTS Are your tents waterproof? All of the tents at The Eco Camp are treated with an inside and outside waterproofing treatment that gets refreshed at the start of each season. Rest assured, we wouldn't furnish the tents if we expected them to leak. How much space is your tents? Our 16-foot tents can accommodate up to 4 persons (2 adults, 2 children). They have a floor area of about 200 square feet. Our 10-foot tents can accommodate up to two persons. They have a floor area of about 100 square feet. What about bedding? The Eco Camp provides bedding to all of our guests. Each tent comes with pillow cases, sheets, and towels for two. All of our pillows and mattresses have bed bug proof covers. BATHROOMS How about the bathroom situation? The Eco Camp offers toilets and a shower house (Spring, Summer, Fall only) to campers. COOKING How can I cook at The Eco Camp? Each tent comes with a charcoal grill. We also provide glasses & cups, silverware, plates, and a cutting board. You can also choose to cook over the community fire ring in the center of The Eco Camp. Many cooking utensils are available in the Airstream Office. We have cast iron cookware on site, as well as pie irons, and hot dog campfire roasters. We typically make a campfire around 7 PM in the evening. WHAT'S THERE TO DO? What else can I do at The Eco Camp? We have a large social hall on the property with pool tables, arcades, and weekend entertainment from bands to cookouts. Our large natural swimming pond with floating deck is very popular with our guests who have been hiking and biking all day. What dining options are there in the area? Talk to Alex upon your arrival and he'll recommend some local favorites. Honestly, though, nothing beats a home cooked meal over the campfire. Oak Openings Hiking Trails Oak Openings features everything from short hikes to overnight backpacking. The longest trail in the park is about 15 miles and is an all-day adventure. Bring plenty of water. The Ferns and Lakes Trail is about 2.7 miles round trip and takes you past the sand dunes that form the Oak Openings Region. PETS Can I bring my dog to The Eco Camp? Yes. We love dogs and have dog-friendly tents. No dogs permitted in the other tents. We permit one (1) dog in Camp 3 and Camp 4 each. Send us a message if you're thinking about bringing two really small dogs (Chihuahua-sized), we'll try to accommodate. There are squirrels and birds everywhere. Your dog will have a blast and your arms will be pulled by the leash. Skunks like to hike through the park at night. Be mindful as we do not stock enough tomato juice on site. A few rules: Dogs must be leashed on the property at all times. There are no exceptions. You may never leave your dog alone in the tent or vehicle. Bring a wire crate so the puppy doesn't shred the tent while you're in the shower. Yes, this happened. Your dog must be kept in a crate during night time. Unfortunately, no bed-snuggles for the pooch. Why? Tent walls are chewable and a determined dog will get out. All poops must be picked up immediately and disposed of in a trash can. We reserve the right to demand that a dog be removed from the property due to aggressive, threatening, or menacing behavior. Excessive barking is also not permitted. (We know, try telling the doggie that.) You must clean up minor (#1) and major (#2) accidents right away. We are providing an organic cleaning product for your use. Spray on rag and wipe surface. Do not spray directly on the tent fabric. Let Alex know if an accident happened and where. We do not charge a cleaning fee for minor accidents. Major accidents and/or a chewed tent or chewed furnishings will incur charges. Do not permit strangers to approach or pet your dog. Protect your dog. Can I bring my cats, gecko, or pot-belly pig (among others) to The Eco Camp? Sorry, no. You know why. CRITTERS AND PLANTS What is the mosquito situation like in Oak Openings? Mosquitos are part of life in this area of Ohio. Lucas County is responsible for mosquito remediation and treatment and they do a great job at containing this pesky, yet vital, part of our ecosystem. Bring long sleeved shirts and pants as well as mosquito repellant. Campers at The Eco Camp are not permitted to bring foggers or other large-area methods of insect eradication. Are there any other critters I need to be aware of? The Eco Camp is located just outside of Oak Openings Metropark. This region is biologically diverse and home to deer, badgers, raccoons, snakes, and spiders (among others). Camping in nature means trying to arrange one's expectations with nature in mind. You will encounter spiders and ants. Are there poisonous plants? Yes. The Oak Openings region is home to Poison Ivy and its variants. The Eco Camp takes every precaution to remove poison ivy from and around trails. Do not venture off trail.
  • The Eco Camp was amazing! There were so many little touches that made the space extremely magical. Alex was a great host! He was very responsive & welcoming. I would recommend to anyone!

  • This was a delightful & relaxing stay & far exceeded my expectations! Alex has provided so many thoughtful amenties throughout the camp & within the yurt, we were constantly surprised & impressed throughout our stay. Despite chilly temps outside, we were warm & comfy in our yurt. Alex communicated well throughout our reservation process & quickly responded to any questions we had during our stay. We look forward to future visits & enthusiastically recommend staying here!

  • My husband and I are a younger couple in our 20s. I'm not a huge camper but wanted to plan a weekend that my husband would enjoy for our anniversary. I stubble upon these Yurts and my expectations were blown away! The host, Alex, owns the Eco park and has found the sweet spot between providing personal space while being informative and handy when needed. We arrived at night and the lighting (all solar powered) was incredible. Coming from someone who likes to be comfortable at all times, Alex has thought of everything! Offering us to have heating ready in the tent so it was nice an toasty when we arrived and providing a delish waffle breakfast when you leave. The Yurt had the comfort of a hotel room with the ambiance of the great outdoors. Never thought I would enjoy the rain on our last night, so very peaceful on the canvas. In a nutshell, BOOK IT, you won't regret it!!

    Leah2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Unique and beautiful spot. The community area was well set up and our yurt was cozy and clean. We're looking forward to staying with Alex again soon!

  • A magical family space, fabulous host and so many fun surprises!! Alex is more than accommodating and really puts special touches on your stay! We will be back with friends and more family!!

  • We stayed two different nights at the Eco campground. What a beautiful, inspiring place to stop during our road trip out west and back again to Philadelphia. We loved every aspect of staying here. My 9 year old daughter said we were like woodland fairies. The lack of running water might be a drawback for some, but for us, it added to the the magic of living the simple eco lifestyle in a sylvan hideaway. Best of all, our dog was welcome and accommodated. I have already referred Alex’s yurt campground to my friends and family, who are, incidentally, do owners too. I’m interested in staying here again one day, perhaps as a snowy winter retreat.

a 1920's Sears & Roebuck Arts and Crafts House, located in a typical residential area of a small community. Filled with Antiques to make you feel at home. A front porch. be a neighbor or not. porch furniture and old swing.
it was so much fun decorating this little house. i own an antique shop and thought offering a comfy little place to friends and visitors would be a lot of fun. Liberty Center, Ohio is a sleepy little town, with maybe a high school football game going on, a great library and shopping within 13 minutes. lots of places to see and do offered once you get here....
the small house is located in a residential area. the house to the west is not as well kept as i want it to be....but that's what we get in a side by side housing plot. there is a funeral home to the east with a large parking lot. the actual land that the house is located, is well-kept with hydrangeas, hostas and flowers. an open porch is joyful in the warm weather months for sitting out, enjoying the neighborhood.
  • You can expect a cute, quaint, artsy bungalow, which is actually quite spacious. We needed a place to stay due to a family funeral, and this fit us perfectly. Very quiet and very convenient location. Nice place to gather with our family after funeral. Katie was very quick to communicate. Highly recommend!

  • At the beginning of my extended stay, I was a little unsure of what to expect! After seeing pictures and speaking with Katie I decided it was the right choice! I was very pleased when I walked in the door of this sweet bungalow home. It was very cozy and filled with various antique decorations! The bed is updated and the house has wifi and a little TV with the Amazon Firestick! Katie was very helpful in answering all of my questions and was quick to respond when an issue arose. This house was perfect for me and, I hope in my journey I get to stay there again!!!

  • Our small family enjoyed our Christmas in the beautifully decorated home. All our needs were supplied to make our own dinner and sit together to enjoy our Christmas in comfort

    Jenny2018-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • At Katie's place you can expect to feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. It is so cozy you'll want to stay longer. The antiques and decorations makes it feel like the house has been in your family for generations. However, the bed is updated and the house is equippedwith wifi and a TV with apps. I'm looking forward to the next time I get the opportunity to stay!

  • if you've never been camping this is how you want to start. Alexander makes it super easy to get started and it's basically living in luxury while roughing it. The Eco camp is based upon not being wasteful, solar energy, getting away from electronics. Cooking food over a roaring fire. General camaraderie. This is the place you want to go. I can't wait to return and I will do it soon

  • Honestly the coolest Airbnb I’ve had the pleasure of staying at. Not to mention the most insta worthy. So many thoughtful touches and just the right amount of nature and glam to appease most. We had 3 lady friends on a midwestern road trip, stopped in the quaint Swanton for the night. Alex set up a cot for our third and got us started with a lovely bonfire. Do yourself a favor and just book it already!

  • We had an amazing time at the EcoCamp! This was our first time winter ‘glamping’ and it did not disappoint. We had so much fun and our cozy yurt did not disappoint. Alex was so hospitable and his eco friendly vision is great! If you are debating whether or not to stay here - just book it! You will have so much fun.

    Kaytlin2018-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • It’s crazy to think such an adorable, environmentally conscious, and unique place can exist so close to home. Alex was so kind, always available, and even made us vegan waffles in the morning to accommodate me(I was pleasantly surprised!) The yurt was spotless and extremely beautiful with the lanterns inside, and a constant campfire made the night even better. If you’re walking around at night, though, be wary of the kittens! They’re nice, but startled us quite a bit! Overall, our stay was better than I even imagined and I hope to be able to return again sometime!

    Jyothika2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • WOW. Alex has created such a comfortable, welcoming, stylish space that was perfect for our girls' weekend! His focus on being eco-friendly is incredible..from the solar powered battery packs to charge your phone to the adorable paper lanterns surrounding the space, it was all perfect. Yes, it's still camping, so don't expect AC a a bug-free environment. BUT if you want to enjoy the outdoors, good company, and a simple (but still luxurious) lifestyle, it's the ideal getaway. I've been camping a lot, but having a real bed and everything we could need (pans, dishes, battery packs, towels, grills, a PIZZA oven, etc.) made our experience so simple and easy. We had everything we needed. And one more thing... Alex is incredible and is so passionate about the Eco camp that you can tell he put so much thought and consideration into every aspect of the camp. Needless to say, I'd recommend and come back in a heartbeat.

    Katie2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • There's nothing I can say about The Eco Camp that will do it justice. It's something you must experience yourself. This place is perfect for: -couples on a romantic date -families with children -groups of friends -sporty folks traveling around looking for adventure -people who have camped before, love it, BUT only have a tiny window for a getaway, so packing, setting up, taking down camp doesn't seem like it's worth it -people who have NEVER camped before, but want to try and see what it entails before spending money on their own gear -people who think they're not the camping type, and would never love it. THIS IS FOR YOU! Literally, just ask Alex! -people stopping by for a night or two -people looking for a place to stay for a week while visiting places Seriously, you can go for a hike, a swim, a bike ride, a horseback ride; you can take a kayak down the river; you can take a day trip to cedar point or the Toledo zoo. You can stay a whole week and do something exciting every day, or relax at the campsite, but you will not be bored. You can take a shower, and you can even run a load of laundry. The Camp is cheaper, cleaner and cozier than a hotel room, and Alex will personally ensure your comfort. About him- he's a unique guy with a really unique idea that is excellently executed. He's a pleasure to talk to, and his enthusiasm about the place and the people visiting it shines through every detail. We visited with our two little children, and everyone had a great time. We can't wait to go back! Try it. You'll love it!

    Teodora2018-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to get a camping experience that’ll be comfortable and relaxing this is where you should go. Decided to try this place out because I didn’t have a tent and I didn’t want to stay in a cabin. Alex did a great job of making sure we had everything we needed from making a camp fire to breakfast the day we left.

    Julia2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • I came down with pneumonia. I thought I would be better by the trip to Alexander's yurt. Alexander was nice enough to give us a rain check for a future stay when I recovered.

The Eco Camp offers toilets (year-round) and a campground shower house (Spring, Summer, Fall) to campers.
Oak Openings features everything from short hikes to overnight backpacking. The longest trail in the park is about 15 miles and is an all-day adventure. Bring plenty of water. • The eco camp was such a wonderful place. Alexander was so attentive and the campground was lovely. We even caught a couple blue gill in the pond! I would highly recommend this space to any group. It was very worth it!

  • Alex was amazing! Everything was super cute! We had a large family group for a reunion and felt relaxed and comfortable... campsite and facilities were clean and the decor was perfect... dog friendly was a plus! Hard to get a large group together far enough in advance and Alex was very understanding when some members canceled last minute when a case of strep throat sabotaged some... but we adjusted and all was smooth, no complaints! We would def recommend and will be coming back!!! Thanks again!

    Amanda2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • First, I am not much of a camper! So take this into consideration as you read my review. The process of making the reservation could not have gone more smoothly. Alexander was very quick to respond and very observant. I had not mentioned the desire to bring our dogs or even that we had any. He noticed my account picture was of our two dogs. Within a very short time he sent me a note explaining that our dogs were welcomed to the camp and what the rules were. From the very beginning he was clear on all of his expectations of us and for us. There was always clear communication from him even if I tended to be a little slow to respond. Next came our trip .... we arrived on quite the rainy afternoon. Alex provided a tour of the entire site and pointed out all of the amenities at the campground next door. He had added two more gathering areas since I had booked my reservations and was very proud of the addition. Alex gave instructions for his services of delivering wood for the fire, ice for the many coolers and most importantly bringing coffee in the morning. There is not a coffee pot at the Ecocamp and we were very nervous that could be a real issue for those of us that don’t exist well without our morning coffee. NOT A PROBLEM! A text to Alex in the morning and ten minutes later an air pot of AMAZING coffee was delivered by Alex on his Segway. Alex was always available very quickly when we needed anything but kept his distance when we did not. Texting was our method of communication when we needed anything and all requests were handled quickly. There was a small welcome gift on the pillows of our two grandkids, and by the end of our stay, our grandson was Alex and his Segway’s biggest fan. We did not take on the paddle board trip because our stay was rather short. Although we did not, I would highly recommend it as Alex’s enthusiasm alone would make the trip wonderful. As for the campground itself, it is spacious and the yurts are very roomy. The yurts are arranged in a manner that if you want to go off to your yurt for a little privacy it is possible. There is no electricity; however, there are many solar lanterns to spread out over the whole campground. And the solar charges were sufficient enough to charge phones, iPads and speakers. In the social tent there are games, toys, record player and eclectic decorations. To wrap it up - we had a wonderful time! Alex was a superior host! And if it weren’t for the mosquitos (which Alex warned us of but had no control over!) the entire trip would have been PERFECT!

    Toni2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Alex was a great host. He was available all the time and his responses were quick. The camp was very clean and every tent had a nice personal touch - perfect and spacious for a big group. We were 27 and fitted perfectly. The only downside were the mosquitoes but I guess it was that time of the year and rain didn’t help. Overall a great experience! We don’t mind going back for another group vacation.

  • The Eco Camp is truly such a special place. Alex, the owner is an incredible host. He made sure my group was taken care of and suggested many local experiences. The yurts are comfy, cozy, and have everything you need to enjoy a nights stay in them. I cannot wait to come back!

  • We booked 3 rooms at the Grand Kerr. We had an amazing time. The home is HUGE and gorgeous! So much history all over the house. The rooms are so nicely decorated and the beds were amazing. SO COMFY. Everything was very clean. Bob and Kathy were the best hosts. So many personal touches that made our stay so welcoming. Coming home from a fun filled wedding to a toasty warm room with the fireplace going was the icing on the cake. We definitely recommend staying here and spending time getting to know all the history of the home which they are so passionate about. The breakfast in the morning was also so impressive. Fresh fruit, juice, tea coffee and the keesh and bacon were to die for. We will be back for sure.

  • This is an absolutely lovely place and the hosts are so kind! Only slight issue was that the people in the room above were clomping about from 6am and the wall between us and the breakfast room was so thin that we could hear all conversations so perhaps it might be an idea to advise people of this. But tiny points compared to the good which was everything else!

    Fiona2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place, the rooms are beautiful, the location is so great, and the hosts are friendly but not intrusive at all. The breakfast was outstanding and made so much better by wonderful conversation. We'd love to go back!

  • The Mill House Inn is a charming place with warm and friendly hosts. We have stayed with them twice and will again when in the area.

    James2018-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great historic place, in the heart of town, warm friendly hosts. Loved having breakfast on the patio looking at the river. We plan on going back next month.

    James2018-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Ron & Kathy were extremely accommodating and knowledgeable in everything. We enjoyed talking with them for the brief time we stayed there and appreciate the tips they gave us. If we found ourselves in the Grand Rapids area again, we would definitely stay (and recommend) this B&B.

    Josh2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • You really cannot get a better location in Grand Rapids! We enjoyed all of downtown with a short walk, and a beautiful walk along the river over the nearby bridge. Great breakfast- highly recommended in the warmer months to take advantage of the patio dining!

    Kelly2018-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • I'm tired of paying way too much for a chain hotel, so this caught my eye in the airbnb listing. Wifi, private bathroom, a TV and breakfast-- what more could a business traveler want. They accommodated my late check in request easily. Showed me around and left me to myself. In the morning, there was food out for me, despite my early departure. I will stay again when I am in Northwest Ohio and have put this place and the surrounding area on my list of weekend getaways...

    Nate2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at The Mill house was lovely. What a beautiful location. So nice to be right on the river! The patio and gardens are so very inviting and peaceful. The rooms were charming, the breakfasts were delicious. Kathy and Ron are wonderful hosts. I couldn't have asked for more. I can't wait to stay there again~*~ *****

  • The Eco Camp is awesome! The tents were clean and comfortable. The waffles Alex made were so yummy. The bathrooms were clean. The atmosphere was amazing and really colorful. We really enjoyed every aspect of the eco camp. I loved hearing the birds outside the yurt. And the heat worked really well inside of the yurt! No complaints at all. We were very impressed and Alex helped up to feel right at home. We used the outdoor pizza oven and it made some reason awesome pizza! We recommend the eco camp to everyone.

  • Our stay was fantastic! We wanted to get away for a camping weekend without the effort of packing a tent, chairs, firewood, etc. We got exactly what we needed— a camp that was all set up for us. Firewood and drinking water included was a bonus. The weekend was much much colder than expected (it snowed!) but we stayed perfectly warm inside of the yurt. The inside space was very well decorated and cozy which was cool. Alex was very attentive to our requests as well, setting us up with an extra propane tank at the last minute was really going the extra mile. He was very available and quick with whatever we needed. I absolutely would recommend this and would stay again.

  • Alex's camp was one of the most exciting and amazing places we have ever stayed. We had the ultimate getaway and felt so relaxed and pampered by the hospitality and privacy of our stay. The camp fire kept us nice and warm for most of the evening and when the sun set we were greeted with solar lanterns magically turning on and creating such a romantic atmosphere. The amenities we're delightful and the breakfast was so delicious and thoughtful. The yurt itself was so beautiful and warm inside and the bed was so clean and comfortable. we had the most relaxing and fun time together and will definitely be visiting again and again and agian!

  • What started as a random birthday surprise for a best friend turned in to one of the most fun winter camping experiences. Alex provides a unique and delightful camping experience and amenities that went above and beyond like warm homemade waffles, maps of the local state park, as well as a comfortable living space. Regardless of the time of year, this is a must have experience I recommend to all ages.
