Welcome to Woodbridge Farm! ...a friendly, spacious & quiet neighborhood, close to all of the happenings in/around Detroit. Enjoy the newly renovated 2nd floor of our 1884 Historic house. The apt is cozy w/ yummy architectural/design details.
WOODBRIDGE FARM: We love it here! ...very special and unique. The street is filled with Urban Pioneers and creative types; artists, musicians, gardeners, and makers. You will find that most homes sit on larger pieces of land, giving Woodbridge Farms a unique feel. Many of the houses in the area have undergone impressive renovations, and for the others the renovation is underway. We have completed the interior renovations of this home, and soon we will start renovation on the house next door, which we also own. From the outside they look a little rough, but keep coming back and you will be able to witness the transformation! US & OUR RENOVATION PROJECTS: We are longtime Detroiter’s. We are committed to the City, and we are so happy to have been a part of the revitalization of Detroit. We love old homes …and we love to renovate them! Zac is a general contractor, and Renee is an Interior Designer. Together, we have been restoring old homes in Woodbridge for the last 15 years. LOCATION: You are a short walk/drive from Detroit’s midtown area, where you will find a variety of restaurants and shopping. Both Corktown and Downtown are within a few miles. It is a very quiet neighborhood, conveniently located to all major freeways. Lots of parking. THE LISTING: Newly renovated, with the best of care. Open plan kitchen, dining, and living. King size bed with fine linens and nice pillows. The bedroom windows are opposite the sun rise. It is a very peaceful space, bright, open and fresh. We are sure you will love the apartment. It is clean and private. We have an office on the first floor that is completely separate from the space. Zac is typically there M-F 9-5 should you need to print, copy or have any questions. If you have any special requests we will do our best to accommodate you, if given a bit of notice. We live 2 blocks away from the apartment should anything urgent come up.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our short weekend in Detroit. There were special touches like snacks in the freezer and an homage to the dear Taco the cat. We didn't have the pleasure of meeting Taco during our stay but it is clear that Taco is very loved. I loved the decor and the quaintness of the home on the outside and inside. Check in process was easy. House is very clean, but has a faint cat smell (nothing that you can't live with). It's on a quieter street in Detroit and relatively close to where we needed to be this weekend. The area further away from the home (down the block) has a lot of litter and few abandoned houses in the near area. All in all it was a good time, a great place to stay and we would stay again! Thank you for your hospitality!

  • Beautiful, stylish, clean space with tons of natural light. It was a very comfortable and relaxing stay for me and my partner. We especially loved the living space and the kitchen - it was wonderful cooking in their fully equipped kitchen and dining in the open space. We also enjoyed the company of our friendly furry visitor, Taco the cat! Hosts were also very helpful and responsive. Highly recommend this stay for anyone coming through Detroit.

No parties, period. No unapproved guest, period. If this basic rule is violated, the deposit will be lost, private security team contacted and you will be escorted out of the building by local authorities. Super simple. Please note: The neighbourhood is a music district with nearby nightclub, bar, etc with active, late-night vibe in and around building.
Guest Count: is based on total number of guest in the space---not number of guest sleeping. Please do not reach out until you have confirmed the total number of guest. Walk Through: Airbnb does not allow walk throughs prior to booking. Parking: There is a gated lot attached to the building that provides one parking space. There is also additional free street parking. Check-in/out time: There is no early check-in or late check-out. Location: The property is geo-coded at the bottom of listing. Smoking: $350 fine for smoking inside. There are areas outside the building designated for smoking.
This two story warehouse was constructed in 1914 by Jam Handy. After a successful career as an Olympian athlete, Handy pioneered visual learning and contributed immensely to the areas of motion picture production, film technology, and telecommunications. Many of the building on this block were part of his film production complex that produced 7,000+ films. This building and neighborhood continues to be a welcoming place for industrial design thinking. Henry Ford invented the Model T two blocks away, Motown's Hitsville 8 blocks away, Shinola headquarters 5 blocks away, and the list goes on…

This 1880s Gothic-Victorian Mansion was renovated in 2015. Everything is new, clean and modern. There is a queen sized bed and an air mattress. • If you are looking for value, comfort, safety and a peaceful environment, look no further. From the decor to the location to the hosts themselves, you are sure to be more than pleased with your experience at this location. Matt and Meredith went above and beyond to make sure that I was accommodated and they were very responsive whenever there was anything I had questions about. Would highly recommend and I would stay there again, hands down!

  • Accommodating, responsive. Easy check in. Nice, clean apartment.

    Tyler2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Listing is as advertised. Responses were quick, check in was easy and the place was clean. There was even a book with information on the property's history along with tips and recommendations for the area.

    Caitlin2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Matt and Meredith are great hosts. The Loft is very unusual and individual designed. By car its easy and quick to acess Detroit Midtown, the weather was bad so I did not try cycling. Hamtramck had loads to offer. Great place to be. I highly recommend staying there, I enjoyed it very much.

    Claudia2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Matthew and Meredith’s flat was fantastic. It was very clean, they had plenty of amenities, and were very accommodating and attentive. The flat itself was adorable!

    Elizabeth2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect for a couple but also does have a space in the living room for like a blow up mattress. The bathroom was my favorite part because of how big it was and super cute with all it’s features. The hosts were great with giving us recommendations, checking in on us, and giving great directions. Loved it!!

    Anna2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew and Meredith were extremely responsive and hospitable. We would definitely stay again!

    Jay2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew and Meredith’s place is fantastic in a lovely and quiet neighbourhood. It is beautifully decorated with sustainable and recycled furniture and materials which makes this place unique. • We loved staying here! It's the cutest little loft very close to Downtown Detroit. You can see Ford Field and Comerica from the balcony. It is also very clean and beautifully decorated. We loved all the Detroit decor!

    Taylor2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cutest and stylish! The upper deck was so pretty. The loft ladder is a little steep, we just had to take real care when going up and down. All the little details made it feel very homey. There was a washer and dryer even in the unit! The parking (having to go inside to grab gate opener , then downstairs, then park and again when do it again when leaving) Wish there was a keypad at gate, and a drop box for key and opener. I am glad to of had gated parking, wish it had a key/ remote drop off box. I would stay there again, I went with a group of ladies, but we had an emergency to leave and didn’t stay the night unfortunately.

    Jessica2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Check in/out was easy. Nice location to walk to events. Great deck area, sad it was chilly during our stay, would have loved to use that space more. Sodas in fridge & coffee on hand made this feel extra welcoming, also loved the local soaps. Would definitely book this again when in Detroit!

*Please read to the end before booking* Feel the industrial vibes of Detroit in this gorgeous loft, located in a 1920's automotive factory. Some features like the wood floors, pillars and steam pipes are all original. It also has exposed brick, and tall windows letting the sun shine through. Located in a quiet, industrial area (an urban explorer’s dream) Within a 10 min drive to you can get to everything Detroit has to offer. My loft and I were featured in AirbnbMag November 2018!!
This loft is clean, comfy and offers all travel essentials. At the moment it is ideal for couples or 2 people who are ok sharing the bed on the ground floor. The upstairs area is off limits until spring, because it gets very warm up there from the steampipes. This is stands until amount mid April. Sleeping arrangements: • Full size super comfy Sealy posturepedic mattress • Sofa for 1 (not too tall) •WiFi • Fully equipped kitchen • A/C, radiators, fans for temp control
Make neighbors with the old factories and pheasants~ The loft is located in an industrial and unique neighborhood. I would call it an urban explorer’s dream! The building is surrounded by a train junction and a field, a little piece of nature where you can spot pheasants and coyotes. Many buildings here have been converted into artist studios/loft buildings, community gardens, music venues and bars, but there are still industrial in-use buildings. The neighborhood is down the street from Midtown. For those who know Detroit, it is not considered a sketchy area. I know this building and area well, say it is safe, but as a fair warning it may look a bit eery to those not familiar with Detroit. The people who occupy this building are friendly and it feels like a community.
  • This space is the perfect Bohemian oasis for anyone looking for this aesthetic. The natural textures, bright colors and gold accents made for a lovely photoshoot with my wellness clients. There were also a few plants in the space that made for great props. I will be back!

    Bailey2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is absolutely gorgeous! The heat was fairly high, which I found very cozy but might be too much for some. Although it definitely is not in Georgia’s control, we did have an issue with the upstairs neighbors making a fair amount of noise, it sounded like running. But for everything Georgia can do, it was great!

    Amelia2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay if you want to explore downtown Detroit. Only a 5-10 minute Uber away from downtown. Very stylish place, really well decorated! Would highly recommend staying here. Host is very friendly too

    Diarmuid2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place, glad we stayed here. Georgia was a great host that I would highly recommend.

    Cade2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Georgia's place is so cute! We loved the decor and it was very clean and comfortable. Georgia warns you about how hot it gets in the apartment, and she's right! That might be the only downside...but the building is really cool and it's a unique place to stay in Detroit. She was very responsive and a great host.

    Sierra2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Georgia’s place is great! Super stylish and well put together. Her description of the space was spot on and the space fit our needs perfectly. We will definitely be back

Hello! Our home is an 1890 Victorian mansion that we purchased in 2012 and lovingly renovated over three years using a team of local craftspeople and myself. This space is a quirky 1 bedroom, 1 bath garden level loft with much of its original character preserved. Located in the heart of Midtown just one block from 15+ bars and restaurants, DMC, Shinola and way more. The space is designed with leisure stays in mind but also capable of accommodating business travelers comfortably. Parking included
The space features a custom cherry old-growth wood bar along with handbuilt cherry countertops. The bathroom has its own interesting character equipped with the biggest shower I've ever installed as a builder. The apartment is stocked with coffee, has an Apple TV and high-speed WiFi and dart board. The space is equipped with a modern heating system and natural cooling from the original stone walls. It’s very comfortable year round.
Midtown is an exploding, vibrant neighborhood in the center of Detroit. There are so many fantastic bars, shopping opportunities, museums and restaurants within walking distance. The Wayne State Police is highly active and patrols Midtown 24/7 with a fast response rate making Midtown the safest neighborhood in Detroit and one of the safest university campuses in the nation.
  • Clean, comfortable, and cute. Thanks for a great stay!

  • Kelsey's place is located near LCA it was easy to find and check in. Being a basement unit we thought the floors would be cold, yet they were warm. Good space. Perfect for what we needed

    Wendy2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place rules! It will be one of my first looks anytime I plan on staying in Detroit.

    Nathan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Kelsey’s place was exactly as advertised! We were in town for a Red Wings game, and it was an easy 20ish minute walk to/from Little Caesars Arena. The unit itself has so much character, and there were some great touches - a few fans throughout the unit for white noise while sleeping, a little container with earplugs in the bedroom, and a fun dartboard, too! The only small glitch we had was that the Apple TV kept kicking off, but we weren’t too concerned with this as we were there to explore Detroit, not sit around all night. Thanks for a great stay!

    Erin2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This space is exactly as advertised. It's clean and comfortable and has it's own private entrance. There is a lovely grocer right next door and it's convenient to the entire city. I highly recommend this host and their home.

  • Awsm spot, Very private & accommodating host. Helpful as all get out. Great location, just walk 2-3 blocks to great restaurants, 3-4 to grocery, great restaurants all up & down Mack Ave & Harper woods ave. Not just franchises that are so prevelent. Even a polish deli/ grocer not too far away. If your a "foodie", this is a great location. & Of course, ask Dave, he'll hook you up with ride to/ from airport or up & down the strip.

  • Nancy’s place was great! She was so hospitable and made me feel at home. She was super welcoming. The bed was soft and the space was very clean!

    Keith2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice experience. The hospitality of Nancy & David was outstanding. It is a very comfortable place to stay for many reasons. Very clean house and a great location. The amenities were always available and plentiful. Their dog, Cooper, is a little joy. I will stay here again, if possible. I highly recommend Nancy's place.

    Bob2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • I just finished a 3 night stay at Nancy’s place. It was clean and comfortable with lots of touches that made it feel like home. There were always plenty of snacks, fruit and drinks available. Nancy and David are very kind and gracious hosts. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and welcome in their home. I would definitely stay there again!

    Sandra2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy made the check-in process very simple with her prompt and clear communication. She opened the door for me herself when I arrived. She asked if I was hungry, and through and through she made me feel like part of the family. The room was perfect, and I felt I had all the amenities I could ever want. My personal bathroom was a plus. When I returned the second evening they were finishing up a repair on the toilet from an emergency situation, and they had it ready for me again in minutes! I am very grateful to Nancy & co. for their wonderful hospitality. I would recommend their place before any other stay in the area.

    Christopher2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy's place was a great place to stay with amazing amenities! Nancy and her husband were very friendly and welcoming! It was a great value and we hope to stay again when we are in the area!!

    Cathy2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • There are many available toiletries and my favorite part is the personal thermostat. The bed was very comfortable, so after a night of partying at a wedding reception, I knocked out quick. There is a small dog and I personally am not immediately fond of pets like many people. So that was rather uncomfortable, but Nancy's service exceeded my expectations. Anyone who stays can quickly notice the large amount of thought that Nancy put into the set up of her rooms for guests. Also, I don't know much about the area, but I noticed that the neighborhood is quiet and walking distance from a few fast food spots.

Generally laid back and quiet, come relax while you get away.
A cozy up-to-date home welcomes you for a place to stay on your trip.
A fairly quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Families will be seen during the day playing in their yards and strolling the sidewalks with children or furry friends. And although generally quiet at night the occasional weekend get together with laughs around a backyard fire pit are always welcome.

**About that Corona virus.** If you still need to travel, a single family home to yourself is relatively safe! Intense cleaning protocol is being practiced. All surfaces are disinfected between reservations, and all linens are washed, including bedspreads and throw pillows, everything. The Duck 'N' Roll inn is a 3 bedroom home situated on a urban duck farm. A combination of contemporary features and old-time cottage charm will keep you comfortable and cozy while you enjoy Detroit's east side.
The Duck 'N' Roll Inn has been a home to journalists, documentary filmmakers, artists, performers, urban planners and explorers, and this year, a temporary home for families reuniting. It's been a joy to teach the kids about the ducks! The "Duck 'N' Roll Inn" is an eclectic farmhouse on an urban duck farm, officially known as Laid In Detroit. The farm provides pasture raised duck eggs to Rock City Eatery, as well as local residents. Located in the easy-going east side, Laid In Detroit was voted "Best Inner City Duck Farm" by the staff of the Metro Times. Though it's not so much an "inner city" vibe as it is a laid back oasis amongst urban sprawl. It encompasses 6 city lots full of trees and garden, The house has 3 bedrooms--a nautical room, and kid friendly room, and a spacious bedroom known as "the disco room," which features a large skylight, a woodburning stove, enormous chalk boards, and a sound system with a disco ball so that it doubles as a dance floor! There is one full bath with an extra wide jacuzzi tub, as well as a half bath on the first floor. The property also features a steel bbq in the form of a dinosaur, an adobe pizza oven on site, as well as panoramic views of the gardens and the ducks frolicking in the pasture. We have a new addition to the farm! Meg, the livestock guardian dog is keeping us safe from predators and prowlers. Great Pyrenees guardian dogs are known for their friendly, gentle demeanor, as well as their superior livestock guarding abilities. When you meet her, give her a biscuit and a pat. She loves guests! (By the way, the dog is off limits to the house unless invited! No worries if you are allergic or not an animal lover.) The house is full of character with a large kitchen and dining area. The property also has many ecological features, such as a green roof over the duck coop. Your stay here will not only be relaxing and fun, but educational as well. Typical guests who have really enjoyed the Duck 'N' Roll Inn are artists, urban gardening fans, photographers, journalists, film makers, animal lovers, students, musicians, world travelers and anyone with an adventurous mindset. You can also rest easy knowing that the money from your reservation is going directly to a small farm business in a developing neighborhood in Detroit. Laid In Detroit has hosts many events, including an annual Easter party for the kids.
Cornerstone Village, once a stable working class neighborhood founded by Belgian immigrants (some refer to it as "the Belgian triangle") has also been affected by the recent mass exodus from Detroit. But a strong coalition of homeowners with deep roots in the community have held things together. You will encounter some blight and vacant homes in the neighborhood. I am currently waiting for three of them to get knocked down on my street. Hoefully it will happen soon in 2019. There are characters, and oftentimes people are out and about, playing music and socializing, but it is a friendly neighborhood. All guests have had a safe experience here. I haven't had a single incident of crime since I started hosting in 2012. There are many great restaurants nearby, as well as bars, pubs, and grocery stores. The Cadieux Cafe and Ye Olde Tap Room have been around for a century. Trader Joe's and Kroger grocery are within walking distance.

  • The Duck 'N' Roll Inn is great! Ducks are fun to watch and Meg was fun to hang out with :) We personally loved it, but we do fit the description of people who like adventures, artists, musicians, etc. and maybe wouldn't recommend this particular place to some of our friends and family who prefer more traditional accommodations. Suzanne was very quick to respond to any questions we had during our stay, was super easy going during our time there, and very understanding when an unfortunate mistake caused some minor damage that I didn't know about before we left. All in all, we had a great stay and would love to go back sometime!

    Ryan2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! I can hardly put into words how grateful I am for my experience at this cute house! I was visiting my partner in Detroit this week and we needed a quiet place away from his small family home. This place is right on the edge of Gross Pointe so there’s amazing shopping and food. The house is so charming and has everything you need. I especially admired the vintage stove. And don’t get me started on the ducks and sweet dog! This was probably my favorite Airbnb experience yet. Would love to return. Thank you Suzanne!!

    Claire2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Eclectic and amazing space in Detroit. Close to many things to see and do. Plenty of space to hang out around the house. The ducks are amazing and fun to listen to. Meg the dog was a sweetie and we loved cuddling with her. This is an older style house but by no means dirty. It was quiet and beautiful outside at night and we felt completely safe.

  • Despite the bed frame collapsing on the first night of my stay, Stewart and Elizabeth were very quick to answer my concerns and came by the next day to give a temporary fix to the bed frame and a total bed frame replacement that week. I appreciate their quick action concerning the initial problem with the bed frame and letting me stay in their home while on rotation at Ascension Saint Johns Hospital which is very close to the house which was nice when I had to get to the hospital at 5:30am and earlier. The only other issue I encountered was parking for all the residents of the house. Though parking for the first 2-3 cars is possible, if it wasn’t for the Airbnb across the street that didn’t have any tenets at the time I could imagine finding parking for the all those staying at the house would be difficult since they were 4-5 people staying in the house at the same time. Maneuvering had to be done between us all staying at the house to make sure we could get out of the house when we needed to even with the extra driveway. Not a huge issue and the stay overall was excellent. Thank you very much Stewart and Elizabeth!

  • My husband and I rented the downstairs bedroom for about a week over Christmas. My mom lives in the area so it was nice to be able to stay nearby. We mostly just slept & showered here, but it was great to get away from all of my family for a bit. The bedroom was pretty small, but we expected that and it fit our needs just fine. The coffee station was super nice and had a lot of options. The bathroom was cute and clean. The one thing is that when we first drove up at night it was hard for us to find the house because the house is a bit set back from the road, but it was the one with the powerful floodlight, right where google maps said it would be. If you are looking for a good deal -- this is a great choice!

Detroit International House was Detroit's only International House. Now a multi-level museum come experience the lives of the internationals who transformed an abandoned building into Detroit's coolest Airbnb experience! We have two houses on the block, so actual photos may differ, but both are lovely houses with comfortable and cozy rooms.
This is a private room with one bed workspace and clothing storage. We have 2 houses on the block with a variety of room sizes. Rooms either have single or king size beds, please inquire about availability. My place is in the Pingree Park Neighborhood. Its bikable and/or busable to downtown, Eastern Market, midtown, the Dequindre Cut and Belle Isle, Medical Center, St John Hospital. The house is fully furnished with all amenities of a typical home.
This is probably the only listing at this price range so close to two major bus lines, #6 to downtown and Eastern Market area, #8 (midtown in one direction and St John Hospital in the other direction). Driving? Its a short drive away to hop on I 94 freeway, which also connects to I-75

***We have always and will continue to wipe down all surfaces, door knobs, railings, etc with diluted bleach solution before every reservation. *** Welcome to the Log Cabin - a unique cozy space in our lovely 1940s home! The original owner was a woodworker & created this room with his own hands. Furnished with vintage pieces to evoke another time; a perfect retreat. We are in a beautiful & safe neighborhood 5 minutes from Grosse Pointe.
You will have the entire basement unit, including a full kitchen, full bath and laundry room to yourself. Supplies for making coffee & tea are provided. The bedroom (AKA The Log Cabin Room) is furnished with a wrought iron framed Sleep Number queen-sized bed with a variety of hypoallergenic pillows, a comfy stuffed chair, a convertible desk, and a lovely mosaic table & chairs. A vintage cedar chest is stocked extra linens and such. There are plenty of drawers for your things and a free standing clothes rack for hanging clothes. We provide a TV that you can either use connected to your own laptop, or you can use the Roku and sign into your personal Netflix or Amazon account. As a photographer, Mark is very into lighting and so you will find that you can customize the mood of your room from dark & romantic to fun & colorful to bright & functional. The kitchen is well stocked with essentials for cooking, organic coffee & a variety of teas are provided and a refillable pitcher of filtered water will be waiting for you in the refrigerator. The soaps, conditioner, shampoo provided is all sulfate and paraben free. As travelers ourselves, we understand that it is the little details that can make or break a stay and our goal is for you to feel like an honored guest in our home. The space is equipped with emergency supplies (flashlight, candles/matches, first aid, fire extinguisher) as well as things to clean up an inadvertent spill.
East English Village (or as the locals call it - EEV) is on the east side of Detroit and considered by many one of the best neighborhoods in Detroit due to its diversity, community engagement and beautiful properties. We love how friendly everyone is, the charming variety of homes, and how easy it has been to integrate into the community since our move here from California in June. http://www.eastenglishvillage.org/
  • Susan and Mark are terrific hosts and have made my long term stay very comfortable. Highly recommend....

  • It’s a cozy space! You’ll be provided with a SleepNumber bed, lounge chair, desk, access to a washer and dryer, and a fully stocked kitchen! I stayed for Thanksgiving. Make sure to bring some warm slippers if you’re staying in the winter. The room itself has an extra space heater if needed. I’d definitely stay again.

  • This was an excellent place to stay, and a great value! We were typically no more than a 10-15 minute drive from anything we wanted to see in the Detroit area. Susan was an excellent host, and very thoughtful. Would definitely stay here again in the future!

An Artsy rustic loft with exposed brick and exposed wood beams accompanied by paint splatter and and high ceilings. From the recessed can lighting in the kitchen to the hanging rail lighting 15+ ft above the living room, the place is sure to bring out the artist in you. The place is one of a kind and really cozy and perfect for weekend getaway or short stay located less then 10 min from downtown it’s ideal for just about any thing that brings you to Detroit
The entire place is yours to use.
There isn’t really any neighborhood, it’s a really big stand alone building. The building is very unassuming, you’d miss it if you didn’t know it was there, located just under an overpass a building that once was a factory, now converted into lofts. There are railroad tracks that pass by the building and occasionally you can catch a train.
  • Great stay!

    Mariah2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Taaj’s place was perfect for our Detroit staycation! The loft is gorgeous, great location, clean, stylish and the best place to call home for a few days! We will definitely be back.

This spacious, private bedroom has been fully restored to its original beauty (oak floors refinished, plaster patched & windows replaced). The room features a comfy king-size memory foam bed (size: 76 in x 80 in) with many additional amenities including a microwave, mini fridge and auto-locking digital door lock. OUR HOUSE Our house is not a typical 'AIRBNB' but closer to a big house with a European hostel vibe. In fact, traveling and staying in hostels in South of Spain is how our relationship started, which inspired us to create a space like this. We’ve made lots of friends while traveling and staying in this type of shared living space and we love it. :) With that being said, this is not for everyone. THIS PLACE IS FOR YOU IF: * you like staying in a “European Hostel” style place. We met and fell in love while road tripping and hostelling through Europe and it’s been a goal of ours to recreate that type of place here! * You want to make new friends and socialize with people from around the world. * You don’t mind sharing space with others. In our house we often cook together and some of our rooms don’t have a private bathroom so you’ll need to be okay sharing with others. THIS PLACE MIGHT NOT BE FOR YOU IF: * You’re looking for a traditional “bed & breakfast” or hotel. This is not the style we are going for here. * You expect a “full service” experience. Our household is all about self-sufficiency and we expect guests to check themselves in and get in touch with us if there’s anything they need.
Our house is just up from Belle Isle on the same street! We're close to Eastern Market to our north west and West Village / Indian Village to our south east. Straight shot over to Downtown / Midtown and most top attractions are within 3 miles. A lot of homes in this area are being revitalized right now but there are still a lot of work to be done and you'll probably see some blighted houses nearby. If you want some more info about neighborhoods or places to check out please let us know! We have an extensive travel guide we put together for our guests.
  • Good location, really neat layout that allows for meeting new people. Communal resources for breakfast and fun hangout lounge.

    Natalie2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot at a great value. The room and shared spaces were very clean. Definitely a lot of activity going on while I was there but I didn't have any issues. Everyone I met was super friendly!

    Gerald2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Detroit Adventure's place was great! We didn't spend much time there because we were mostly out and about but the room was lovely and very clean. Self check-in was smooth and easy and they gave us all the details needed ahead of time. There's shared bathroom, showers and common space, so as long as you're prepared for the hostel vibe you'll love your stay here :)

    Cory2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Best personal touch was the fresh home made bread and coffee in the morning. The bed was super comfortable and provided a great night sleep. Amenities and room was very clean and great value while being close to downtown. Thank you Jenny and Alex.

    Sandro2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great clean space ! Jennifer was very responsive and accommodated me without hesitation. I highly recommend this space if you don't mind the doorm like feel. Even with shared space ,which may include bathrooms, (it depends on the space you pick) privacy was not an issue.

    Lonnisha2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Detroit Adventures was a wonderful place to stay! It’s awesome to see what they’re doing with the place. If you’d like TOTAL privacy, this wouldn’t be your best choice, but like the hosts say in their info, if you’d like to meet some people (even in passing) and stay at a place with more of a hostel-y / communal feel, this is perfect! :)

    Lauren2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place to stay, will for sure stay here again :)

    Nikki2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful and very clean. The rooms are spacious but cozy. Keep in mind that it's a hostel-like space so the bathrooms and kitchen are communal, but everything is sparkling clean. A delightful home, we would love to stay again.

This is a spacious private room with a king bed (Size: 76 in x 80 in). The room door is lockable. 3 bathrooms are shared in the house and as we are actively renovating this place, parts of the house are under construction. Since other travelers and our int'l volunteers helping us will be staying under the same roof and sharing the same bathroom / kitchen / lounge, the space will have a strong community vibe. It’s a great way to meet people from all around and we’ve made lots of friends while traveling and staying in this type of shared environment. With that being said, if you require more privacy, this is probably not the best place for you but most guests see it as a great way to meet people and embrace the community vibe as part of the adventure. We usually set up only a KING bed for up to 2 guests in the room. Please let us know if you need us to set up the extra single beds.

  • I stayed here with my boyfriend for one night. It was exactly as advertised and perfect for our needs. It was very private (our place even had its own bathroom), clean, and the fresh bread in the morning was delicious. The hosts were very nice and the uber drivers even commented that when they pick people up from here , they hear nothing but good things! We will definitely be back. Oh p.s my boyfriend loved the dog , I think he found his new best friend! 😊

Very chic quad level home. We offer the privacy of your own room. There’s a half-bath and sitting area outside the room. The full bath is on the upper level which is also available for our guest to use. The sitting area has a smart TV that is equipped with Netflix and Hulu for your entertainment. And of course we offer WIFI because whats the world without it! We look forward to having you ! Please feel free to ask any questions❣️
You have a private room but have access to the entertainment area, kitchen, bathrooms. These are all common areas so remember to keep them tidy :). Our house is a relaxed environment, we keep things nice and tidy but we're not clean freaks, so we won't stress if you accidentally forget to wash a dish, especially since we're incredibly busy we may have days where we forget to wash a dish as well lol. We enjoy sharing our space with kind travelers and being able to offer accommodation at such low prices but always remember we're just a humble house on a cul-de-sac, not a Hilton Hotel lol.
    Nice quite and safe neighborhood.
  • This is an extremely nice family and a very comfortable, nice place to stay. If you are on a visit to Warren or anywhere nearby, you willl be lucky to find their place open. There is plenty of parking, a 7-11 and a Walgreen's in walking distance, and you can always get an Uber or Lyft nearby. I used to always stay in hotels on visits, but would definitely stay here again instead.

It was nice to have full access to the entire lower level of the house, which included the bedroom, family room and half bath. I highly recommend them to others!

Our home is in a transitioning neighborhood and is great for seeing an emerging farming art community that’s close to Downtown. We’re a minute drive away from Eastern Market. We pride ourselves with having great communication. Come see the non-gentrified real Detroit! Because of supply and the virus, you’ll have to bring your own toilet paper, hand soap, and body soap. This should only be in effect until May 2020.
This house was built by grit and love. Load bearing walls were restructured, a pallet wall was built, and my wife's love of antique appliances can be seen throughout the house. The house is mostly done, with a couple side projects. But when is a house ever done? The room is comfortable and cool. Enjoy a comfy bed with a frame that was built by my wife! She is an amazing DIY'er. The location is surrounded by vacant lots that wonder what they'll become. The block is a tight network of 8 family homes. To the edge of Downtown it's a 8 min drive, 15 min bike ride, and a 25 min bus ride. Through the pain of this house construction, we've tasted the ashes that Detroit is rising from. And from these ashes are fruits we'd love to share with guests. Enjoy experiencing Detroit's neighborhoods at our house that was built by grit and love.
Our neighborhood is filled with a cast of characters that held the block together through the economic downfall of the city. Nature is reclaiming the neighborhood with Chinese ring-necked pheasants, urban farming, and blocks of vacant lots. Our block is dense with 8 houses. I've lived here for 4 years and have experienced no crime. Not to say it can't happen, so make sure you leave nothing in visible sight in your car. This neighborhood was hardest hit by Detroit's population lost, but is now a hidden gem waiting for more mix land uses, or a massive development project. Either way, come visit and see Detroit change before your eyes.
  • I had a fantastic stay in Detroit at large thanks to my amazing host, friendly and incredibly helpful - I've learned a lot about the city during those two days. The area is super safe and I enjoyed my time in the house, I was taken care of, I'd definitely come back.

  • Great house for the area neighborhood is a bit run down but appreciate the property being restored as Detroit needs as many proactive land/homeowners as it can get. It’s a rough and tumble city full of great and interesting people when you look thru the fog

  • I would say that they are very honest about this being a little more like a youth hostel than your average room. We found the bedrooms to be clean and with lots of little extras. Probably the only reason the kitchen did not get five stars for cleanliness is because it’s old and probably looks a little worse than it is. It was well stocked but we did not use it. There was even fresh bread that someone left as a welcome! Check in was super easy. The location was perfect for what we needed and there was plenty of on street parking. Everyone we met there was very kind and helpful. And the price is certainly right!

This is a quintessential Detroit loft, capturing just what the city is all about- taking something old and making it new, breathing new life into it. This gorgeous loft is located in a 1920’s automotive factory, and has retained some of those original characters like the exposed brick, hardwood floors, wood pillars and other little details reminding all that it was a bustling factory. Located in an industrial / up and coming area. Easily access everything Detroit has to offer in 3-10 min.
This loft is clean, comfy and offers all travel essentials. It’s great for couples, small groups or solo travelers. • WiFi • Fully equipped kitchen • A/C unit • Private entrance • Parking right outside the door Sleeping arrangements: • Queen pillow top mattress • Twin bed (upstairs) • Sofa
Make neighbors with the old factories and pheasants~ The loft is located in an industrial and unique neighborhood. I would call it an urban explorer’s dream! The building is surrounded by a train junction and a field, a little piece of nature where you can spot pheasants and coyotes. Many buildings here have been converted into artist studios/loft buildings, community gardens, music venues and bars. The neighborhood is down the street from Midtown. For those who know Detroit, it is not considered a sketchy area. I know this building and area well, and I’d say that it is safe, but as a fair warning it may look a bit eery to those not familiar with Detroit. The people who occupy this building are friendly and it feels like a community.
  • I would recommend and come back many times over, great value!

Private room with lock on the door. Queen Matress. Keurig available(let me know your favorite K cup and i will try to provide!)Close to major highways and local entertaiment. 30 minutes from downtown Detroit. I do have another room for airbnb guest so the house will be shared. Quiet hours begin at midnight through 7 am on the weekdays. Noise travels easily through the walls so if you are a light sleeper ear plugs or white noise are recommended if you plan on sleeping outside of quiet hours.
Brick ranch with remodeled kitchen and carpet in bedrooms.
  • It was a great experience staying at Randall’s again .

    Raf2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Randall is nice and easy going. The place is a good value for the price. Basic, no-frills room with a comfy bed in a quiet and safe neighborhood. Uber service is easily available and a grocery store is within walking distance. Randall is conscientious about scheduling the shared bathroom in the morning so that guests are accommodated.

    Denise2019-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Randall was really responsive and his place was super nice and clean. It's only a 5 minutes drive from the house to the Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, so it will be convenient for the ones who are having interviews or internships at the hospital. The self check-in process was pretty fast and easy, and you can expect all the supplies in your bedroom and bathroom.
