Places to stay in Haddenham
Located between Haddenham and Thame, The Stable is a self contained studio apartment with separate access, generous private parking and its own beautiful south facing courtyard, with stunning views over the Chilterns. A perfect location for visiting Oxford, day trips to London or a cosy bed for the night if attending a wedding at Notley Abbey, or just simply enjoying the air and space that the country has to offer!
The Stable offers a generous open plan living area and a separate bathroom with sauna and power shower. The whole apartment is kept super cosy in the winter with underfloor heating - you won’t need that for the summer months as you will have the french doors wide open onto the sun trap courtyard - if you time your stay well you might be able to pick your own peaches we had 62 in 2019! The property is located within the grounds of our house and is totally private and not overlooked.
Located between Haddenham and Thame, The Stable is a self contained studio apartment with separate access, generous private parking and its own beautiful south facing courtyard, with stunning views over the Chilterns. It is perfect for business travellers or for a cheeky grown up getaway - Thame, with its many pubs, restaurants and independent shops is just down the road and gorgeous, historic Oxford under half an hour away on the train. In addition, the ever popular Notley Abbey, wedding venue is only 1.4 miles away, so our stable is a super convenient place to get your party frocks on beforehand and indeed post party, to rest your dancing legs, with only a 2 minute taxi home!
  • Was hard to pick what was the most great about this place as our stay was fantastic all around! Can't thank Julia and John enough for their fantastic hospitality through and through our stay. Everything was easy, really fast response rate, the place itself was really clean and homely and more than equipped for our stay. You get a really private feel/ not over looked so if anything it's great value for money as it feels like your own little haven! Courtyard was fab. Such a lovely local area and great walks too! Julia exceeded expectations of any host by being intuitive and aware of needs but also privacy. Lovely lovely people and fantastic Airbnb. Can't wait to come back. Thank you so much!

  • A really lovely place. Great terrace with a lovely view across the countryside. The sauna was a real treat after a long day!

    Francesca2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful find, great location close enough to rail links and town, but far enough away that you feel you are very much away from everything. The sauna was a fabulous and surprising extra, the room was big, airy and extremely comfortable. Definitely excellent value for money and highly recommended.

    Kevin2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly recommend. I knew from previous reviews that I would not be disappointed. Julia's accommodation delivered everything it promised as well as a comfortable bed, quiet surroundings and a great space. Nothing needs to be improved or changed. I was on business for 2 days and I looked forwards to leaving my work surroundings and retreating to this little gem.

    Steve2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended! Lovely house, very clean and stylish! We felt like home there! Thank you very much!

  • Spent two nights staying at the stable and we enjoyed our time. Location is really beautiful and it was lovely to see sheep in the morning grazing on the other side of the main garden. Stayed with my wife and two young children and we had no issues; room is comfortable with a big king size bed and comfortable sofa. Would recommend this location! Thanks for having us again Julia, maybe next time we could meet the animals. :)

  • We stayed here for a weekend getaway to the countryside and had a fantastic time. The Stable was a lovely place to stay and Julia was an amazing host, offering plenty of advice about walks in the Chilterns and local pubs and coffee shops. The highlight of our trip was the sauna but the rest of the property and the location is fabulous!

    Sneha2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A super cozy space and so incredibly unique. The personal touches were clear and the sauna was a delight. Julia gave us a lot of suggestions about places to go but because the weather was so bad we couldn’t really explore however her home was so comfortable we didn’t mind staying in. Thank you so much for having us !

My place is a quiet village retreat. Private building and access within easy reach of the beauty of the Chilterns. Easy access to London, Oxford and Thames Valley in the centre of Midsomer Murders country. You’ll love my place because of the peace, safety, light, and the large private outdoor space. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families with kids. Escape from the crowds with access to all amenities
This is a country retreat with your own private, detached first floor apartment in the grounds of a historic thatched home. Your accommodation was originally built as a studio for the 20th Century Artist, Stanley Anderson. His work is still highly desirable today and recently had his own exhibition at the Royal Academy. He was inspired by the country setting and peace. The apartment consists of an open plan lounge diner/ kitchen, a very spacious double bedroom and a compact but modern and well equipped shower room. We provide all bedding, towells and a fully equipped kitchen. There is one king size bed in the bedroom and a brand new double sofa bed in the lounge. The king size bed has a lovely pocket spring mattress. The sofa bed is best for children or teenagers. While it is a good quality sofa bed it does have the limitations of being a sofa bed! We have a superb washing machine and free wifi
Towersey is a small, traditional village about 1 mile from the very pretty market town of Thame. Towersey has many thatched and other historic buildings, a park, a church, a village pub with a good beer garden. The village is on a minor road so is generally quiet with light traffic only. The apartment is in the garden of the main house. The main house is thatched, built in around 1620 and was believed to be the village blacksmiths (we regularly find old horseshoes in the gardens). The apartment itself is believed to have been built in the 1930's (with a tiled roof) and was used as a studio for famous artist Stanley Anderson who escaped the bombing of London to complete many of the works that earn him a highly covered fellowship of the Royal Academy
  • Super loft accommodation in a lovely part of the world, ideal base for exploring!

Bed and breakfast in downstairs accommodation with your own entrance to a single bedroom and private, large, brand new shower room. Wifi included. Situated in a beautiful village with local shops and amenities, 1 mile from Thame, Oxfordshire, 15 minutes from M40 to London and 7 minutes from mainline British Rail station at Haddenham.

I love living in Long Crendon and you will love this area. It is ideal for getting to so many great places. The village is picturesque and not too small, so lots of amenities, with plenty of places to eat; 2 great pubs, 3 restaurants/take-aways and small shops. There's also a library, hairdressers, mechanics, park, tennis courts, 2 churches and community centre. It's quite rural round here and so lovely walking from the village or head towards the Chiltern Hills for extended walks. My house is situated on the corner of a quiet road, lined with large sycamore trees, only a short walk to the shops and local amenities. It's a lovely place to be with friendly and helpful neighbours.

  • The check in was easy with a key box outside the property and the instructions on where to park / access the property were perfect. Erina and Dom were super friendly and when we entered the cottage there were some lovely treats and a card waiting for us. The property was lovely and clean and exactly as described. It was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay and our host were incredibly responsive when we asked for info. The cottage itself was lovely and exactly as described. The area is nice and quiet with some lovely rural walks through woods and fields. Everyone is very friendly. Would have loved to stayed longer and will hopefully stay again soon.

  • Had a lovely stay in this cosy cottage as a mini break from London. The cottage was clean, tidy and we were made to feel very welcome. As this was during the Coronavirus pandemic, we didn’t get out much but from what we saw Haddenham is a beautiful village and we’d like to come back when life returns to normal.

    Andy2020-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing cute cottage. Recommend for a quaint weekend away. Communication and presentation was lovely. They had a booklet with local takeaways and how to use its amenities. The fireplace was lovely and complete nostalgia with the playstation 2 and its games. Only thing I have to say is that maybe consider it if you are 6ft and taller as the ceiling and doorways aren't very tall people compatible. But overall a lovely stay

    King2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely 2 night stay at the cottage, it was in such a quiet location within easy reach of the cafes and pubs of Haddenham. The cottage felt like a home away from home and Erina and Dom made us feel very welcome.

    Lucy2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Another good week here. Highly recommended for a bit of peace and quiet, and a very comfortable base.

    Simon2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Erina and Dom have perfected hosting; providing easy access to all the necessary information as well as helpful extras. The house is full of character and all the modem amenities without compromising that. They were very responsive and informative, and the house was beautifully prepared for our stay.

Beautiful en suite double room in period 18th-century house. Perfect base for touring Southern England, including London, Oxford, the Cotswolds and Stratford-upon-Avon. Plenty of free parking. Near railway station with direct trains to Oxford (30 mins), London (35-45 mins), and Bicester Village (12 mins).
The entrance to the B&B is directly next to the front door of the house, making your stay very private. There is a lovely view of the cottage garden from the picture window of the B&B.
Village green and duck pond on your doorstep (see picture - a popular film location!) The village has three pubs, four cafés and a range of shops and restaurants, all within easy walking distance.
  • Janes place is fantastic. A really considerate host who responded quickly to all my emails. the place itself is sparkling clean, with enough space for everything. A fab shower and wonderful breakfast. I was staying on my own for work and it felt very safe and had some really thoughtful little touches. Thanks for the Kit Kats Jane!

  • A healthy breakfast,and a very hospitable host in a great location

    Jennifer2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is an absolute gem. Communication was always swift and easy and on arrival it was clear we had a really lovely home to stay in with a warm welcome and every little thing we could possibly want to feel welcome and provided for. Parked right outside the front door and were welcomed into a charming lounge area and separate en suite bedroom. It was spotlessly clean (and I am very fussy!) and every small requirement had been anticipated and provided for. A wonderful hot powerful shower, good lighting, his & hers towels x 2, lots of electric sockets, comfy bed, a dressing table with mirror, good tv and lovely sitting area and loads of fascinating books. Breakfast was superb and we ate far too much but don't regret it! We looked forward to returning to the house each day as it felt like a real home from home. Jane is a delightful person and has gone to a lot of trouble to make her guests comfortable and welcome. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone and we will certainly be going back when we need to stay in the area... or maybe just for the pleasure even if we don't!

    Sarah2019-12-15T00:00:00Z

Our stylish Scandi-inspired summer house in the bucolic village of Long Crendon, Bucks is unique to the area. We were thrilled when it recently featured in an interiors magazine. It's perfect for a grown-up getaway, business travellers - or if you're attending a wedding in Bucks/Oxon and need a chic bolthole to sleep off the champagne!
The one-bedroom property is located at the end of our garden but is entirely self-contained and private. Please note: we can't accommodate children unfortunately. Basic breakfast provisions are provided but we recommend you swing by our award-winning café and lifestyle store NORSK, in the neighbouring village of Haddenham. It's less than 10 minutes by car and open seven days a week from 8am on weekdays and 9am on weekends.
Long Crendon is a picture-perfect village, within easy striking distance of Waddesdon Manor, Oxford and its dreaming spires, pretty market town Thame, Raymond Blanc's acclaimed restaurant Le Manoir and the shopper's delight that is Bicester Village designer outlet. If you're a fan of TV crime drama Midsomer Murders, you might like to know that many scenes are filmed in the surrounding towns and villages. And don't miss out on NORSK - I know we would say this but it truly is the best café for miles around! Our coffee is legendary, not to mention the breakfasts, lunches and cakes. Plus we stock all manner of Scandi interiors buys and gifts. Long Crendon itself has a small central square, a fish'n'chip shop, a gastropub and a smattering of shops. Plus there are plenty of walks to enjoy around the surrounding fields. Don't miss the neighbouring hilltop village Brill with its historic windmill atop a hilly common and gorgeous views.
  • Expect a very clean, very stylish summerhouse in a nice quiet town. Very comfortable and a great kitchen for cooking. Perfect for getting out of London!

  • Fantastic house - very well designed with lots of thoughtful touches! Cathrine and her husband greeted us personally and gave us a quick tour of the place. You should also check out their café, Norsk, just down the road in another village. We enjoyed a delicious brunch there.

Cathrine was really helpful and always responded promptly. The place was sparkling clean and as if it was brand new. Couldn’t recommend this stay more. We’ll be back! Thanks :)

  • Davina is an excellent and very welcoming host who does everything she can to make you feel at home. Her beautiful home is luxurious and just out the main town centre which was perfect for me travelling to a course nearby. I would be very happy to stay here again and an added benefit is having a chat over breakfast with Davina - you don't have to do that but I thoroughly enjoyed her company. I'd much rather stay here than a hotel :)

    Lynne2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Recommend Davina's place 100%. Exceptionally clean and tidy. Davina thinks of everything. Great location too. Genuinely lovely lady.

  • Davina is an amazing host. Have stayed with her many times now

    Vicki2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Davina was incredibly welcoming, generous and accommodating. She was so lovely and flexible about my comings and goings, especially as I had to dash out when I first arrived and I got back late in the evening. She provided lots of breakfast and snacks, and was lovely to chat to. The room was completely spotless, had everything you needed, and lots of thoughtful touches (so many toiletries!). I would have liked to have stayed longer and would definitely recommend it to others.

    Charlotte2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Not the first time I stayed at Davina's place. I received the same kindness and immaculately clean place to stay as always.

  • Amazing place to stay for work or leisure. The rooms have recently been converted and in excellent condition. Amenities are a really nice touch. The living area and bedroom are both extremely comfortable and free of any noise. The bathroom is new and modern with a fantastic shower. The location is ideal, only a 2min walk from Thame High street, and there is a walking trial around the corner into a green belt area. I would definitely stay again in the future, as this is the best AirB&B I’ve ever stayed at for location, price and quality. Joe

Charming, self-contained annexe, located in the heart of the picturesque village of Haddenham near Thame and Aylesbury. Notley Abbey and Hartwell House are just minutes away by car, while Oxford, Bicester Village, Blenheim Palace, Waddesdon Manor and the Chiltern Hills are all within easy driving distance. Haddenham & Thame Parkway train station, which has direct lines to London Marylebone (40 mins), Bicester Village (12 mins) and Oxford (26 mins) is a 10 minute walk away.
On the ground floor the annexe consists of an entrance lobby, comfortable living room with TV, fully equipped kitchen (with oven/hob, microwave, fridge and washing machine) and a modern bathroom with overhead shower. Upstairs is the large gallery bedroom with double bed and flat screen TV. The cosy sitting room has French doors leading out onto a secluded patio, overlooking the large, beautiful tree-bordered garden. Guests are welcome to sit in this area of the garden behind the annexe. Please note, although the annexe is a separate building it is in close proximity to the main house and you might see us as we go about our daily business. Private off street parking for one car is available.
Haddenham is a picturesque and charming village, with all necessary amenities including a bakers, local shops, cafes, pubs and a farm shop. The annexe is situated in the old High Street and we are lucky to have a fabulous artisan cafe on the end of the road, ideal for delicious breakfasts!
  • I have returned after a few months of domestic responsibilities which deterred me from making a trip until now. It coincided nicely with a lot of needs, and the return back was like putting your feet into your favourite snug slippers. Everything about this venue is gorgeously natural, spacious and cosy, right down to the lovely hosts Louise & Nick who are wonderfully friendly and down to earth. I can't sing it's praises enough, simply delightful in every way, and the bed is hugely comfortable. And at the end of the leafy snug country lane is a wonderful Indian restaurant where I obtained a fantastically delicious takeaway. It's as quiet as being in the middle of the countryside except instead you have the sheer pleasure of a superbly appointed annexe surrounded by snug but wonderfully appointed other snug cottages. Simply delightful, have I said that already, I'll say it again ... delightful in every way!! Thank you for the welcome dear hosts Louise & Nick.

  • You will not be disappointed if you book this gorgeous guesthouse. From the prompt responses from Louise, to the warm welcome and helpfulness from her to the accommodation itself .... was first class. Beautiful location with a lovely local pub a few steps away serving lovely food - the locals all super friendly too! In the other direction is a gorgeous little coffee shop offering the most scrumptious of breakfasts. The guesthouse ticked all the boxes for a comfortable, relaxing stay and we will most definitely be returning.

  • We stayed in Lottie's home for 3 nights. It was a first for us as, even though we have used Air BnB many times, we have only previously made bookings for hiring a whole place. The arrangements Lottie has put in place in terms of private areas and shared areas have been carefully thought through - our stay was lovely and very good value for money. The renovations have been done to a high standard and the house is a lovely space to be in. Breakfast being included is an added bonus. Communication was excellent throughout the whole process. Our only disappointment was only meeting Ted on one evening - everything else was great!

  • Great stay in a lovely house

  • We were greeted very warmly by Marion the house manager who had prepared the house earlier than check in time for us to drop our bags off and do a quick change to go to lunch at Le Manoir aux quatre Saisons in nearby Great Milton. The house is very styish with everything you could need, even breakfast is provided. A lovely touch. The wet room bathroom and en-suite were lovely, sadly the shower had leaked the night before so the en suite shower was off limits, but the main bathroom shower was lovely. The house has been beautifully renovated and is delightfully comfortable.

  • Lesley was really welcoming and helpful. The room was quiet, private and comfortable.

    Andrea2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lesley is a very friendly host and special touches like 'love hearts' left in the room for our anniversary was lovely and thoughtful. Teas, coffees and snack bars in the room was also a nice touch. Bed super soft and shower room en suite was nice, lovely warm shower. Great location - Thame is a nice little town and also good for visiting Oxford.

    Lynsey2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • The bedroom is small, but beautifully warm and comfortable with everything provided for a lovely stay. There were great quality towels and bedding, plentiful tea and coffee, and Lesley also left a bowl of fruit and snack bars for us. The room and en-suite bathroom are at the top of the house so self contained and quiet. There’s a wonderful ‘proper’ old fashioned pub just along the road, with great beer - lots of conversation, and great banter! We’d also recommend Woodwork Trading coffee shop which is also close by and serves fantastic coffee and a lovely breakfast. The little museum is also well worth a visit. Thank you Lesley! We had a great weekend in Thame :)

    Angie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent value Really friendly hosts, some nice touches gave it a great homely feel and we would certainly recommend a stay if you are in the area. We will definitely stay again

The Coach House was built in the 16th Century It is a separate house but is attached to our house by a thatched archway. The popular series Midsummer Murders is often filmed in Long Crendon and our house and the High Street has appeared in it many times. The Coach House has also been a police station in the series Jeeves and Wooster.
The Coach House is a perfect space for 2 people - the bedroom is on the mezzanine level and the bathroom is downstairs. The bathroom is basic but functional, with a bath and shower. There is a smart television with netflix, catch-up TV and Amazon Prime and a private garden for enjoying a drink on a warm evenings. ABOUT LONG CRENDON Long Crendon has two pubs - the Eight Bells (which is out of the gate, turn right and it’s 2 doors down on the right) and the Churchill arms which is a 5 minute walk away. The Eight Bells serves good pub food and delicious stone baked pizzas which you can eat-in or takeaway. The Churchill Arms is more of a drinking pub although it does serve food. In the village square - turn right out of the gate and it’s a 5mins walk, there is an Indian restaurant, a butcher, a café, a corner shop, an off-licence and a fish and chip shop. There is a cashpoint machine in both the corner shop and the off-licence. There are also 2 hairdressers in the village. Opening in September 2018, a 5mins walk away just by the village square, will be a farm shop, an artisan bakery and a café. Velvet Brown which sells beautiful flower arrangements and gorgeous gifts will also be situated next to the new farm shop and café. Our favorite local restaurant is the Mole and Chicken, which is on the outskirts on the village – lovely views of countryside from the terrace. It is possible to walk there in 15mins although there isn’t a pavement or street lights so if you are walking there in the evening please remember to take a torch. There is a torch in the laundry room for you to use. There are paperback fiction books in the white cupboard in the sitting room for you to read so please help yourself but if you only get halfway through a book and want to take it away with you we’d be grateful if you could leave a book in its place. The High Street is a generally quiet area and therefore the Coach House is not suitable for parties or large gatherings. The Eight Bells Pub does have jazz evenings in the summer months but there is rarely any music after 11pm. We are also 4 miles from Haddenham & Thame Station (London 35 minutes) THAME Thame is our nearest town – a 3mins drive – which has shops, cafes and restaurants. RESTAURANTS There are quite a few restaurants nearby, most require booking on a Saturday night or for Sunday lunch The Angel in Long Crendon The Mole and Chicken in Easington Le Manoir in Great Milton The Pointer in Brill The Hundred in Ashendon The Nut Tree in Murcott The Black Horse in Thame (White Brasserie Pub) CAFES The Flower Pot in Long Crendon Little Italy in Haddenham THINGS TO DO Waddesdon Manor Bicester Village Thame Oxford London (37mins from Haddenham & Thame station) Aylesbury Stowe gardens Haddenham Oxford Weddings at Notley Barn, Notley Abbey & Dorton House
Long Crendon is a delightful village setting. The High Street is a popular tourist attraction because of the many thatched houses and the Court House which is a National Trust property. Long Crendon was voted one of the UK's top 20 villages by The Times.
  • The Coach House is a beautiful little space for a cosy weekend away. The communication was fantastic, and the facilities were more than sufficient for us to fend for ourselves even when the pubs and shops were closed. We definitely intend to visit again to explore a bit more in the future.

    Ashley2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Honestly an excellent host and a fantastic unique place. Clean and everything we needed. The street was so beautiful. Just kept waiting for a horse and carriage to come by . And the pub next door , excellent. And the Churchill, another great pub and excellent Thai food. 100% recommended

    Gareth2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coach House. Charlotte provided lots of suggestions for dining all within walking distance (and all terrific!) and when we had trouble with the wifi, Hugh came right over to get it working again. There were lots of thoughtful touches and, of course, it was amazing to stay in such an old, beautiful space. We would definitely stay there again and can recommend the Coach House wholeheartedly.

    Colleen2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in the beautiful Coach House! The house and village look just like a movie set, and are cosy and welcoming. Host Charlotte made many thoughtful finishing touches including recommendations for the local area, and was very prompt and helpful in dealing with queries. Thank you!

  • What a gorgeous place! Super comfortable and cosy for a (very wet!) weekend away. Charlotte was a great host and really responsive. The bottle of prosecco was a really lovely touch too (thank you Charlotte!). A great location with lovely walks. The pub next door does great food too, as does the bakery up the road.

  • We have just come back from a fantastic stay at Emma’s place in Thame. We stayed for New Year and the location was great, we went out to the pubs and restaurants and it had a great atmosphere. We also travelled into Oxford and went on some lovey nearby country walks too. Emma’s place was SO clean and smelt amazing because of the candles and room diffusers. It was spotless. It had everything you could need in the kitchen and throughout the whole place. There were lots of thoughtful touches and it was decorated so nicely. The communication was great and check in and out was so easy, you really couldn’t fault it. We had such an enjoyable stay in Thame and we hope to be back soon!

    Fran2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Good location, close to restaurants and shops. Nice quiet area. House is spotless and cosy. Enjoyed our winter stay.

  • This became a home away from home while I was working in the area. Nice place.

    John2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Emma, although never met in person by us, came across as a warm, hospitable, understanding and very kind person. Communication with Emma prior our visit was wonderfully fast, easy and polite. With all her efforts, Emma made us feel like home and we had to admit, that we would not mind to have such space of out own just to live in. We have been given space and privacy just to enjoy our stay in a very respectful manner. Emma's Cottage became our home for only few days, but it's charming interior, well organised space and EXCEPTIONAL cleanliness of the whole household made us feel sad when we had to leave. The whole Cottage is cosy, beautifully organised, bright and furnished with taste. As both of us care for the environment, we were very happy to see that Emma cares for it, too by having organised space for waste segregation. Thame itself, although not explored as much as we would like to, happened to be a beautiful peaceful little town worth exploring. Neighborhood in which the cottage is situated is also really beautiful and quiet. We loved every second spend in Thame hosted by Emma. Both, with all our hearts, we would recommend Emma's Cottage to anyone who is looking for a nice, well managed, clean and cosy place to stay in while in Oxfordshire. Emma, as a host will definitely make that stay exceptional to anyone who is willing to accept invitation to her beautiful Cottage.

  • We needed somewhere local to stay for a night when going to a birthday party. Easy to find with off road parking. Oonagh welcomed us and showed us around. Beautifully freshly decorated rooms with lots of useful extra items including a TV, a mini fridge (stocked with milk, butter & jam), chocolate biscuits, crisps & bread, & delicious muesli, Nespresso pods & coffee maker & a hot milk frother. The shower has excellent water pressure & towels and very nice toiletries are provided. There are 2 quite steep narrow staircases, which those with disabilities could find difficult.

  • Amazing place! Exactly how described and Oonagh made us feel very welcome. Some very lovely touches too. We’ll be back!

    Will2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very enjoyable 3 night stay. Oonagh was an exceptional host who made us feel very welcome. The Cottage was very warm and cosy & there was a lot of little touches that made the stay very special such as a lovely en-suite with good toiletries, dressing gowns, battery candles for gentle lighting etc. We were also left some little treats such as biscuits & crisps and also some bread/yogurts for breakfast and a lovely selection of teas & coffee. The location was perfect for our needs. The only thing we would reinforce which has been mentioned on previous reviews was the steepness of the stairs to the bedroom. We would not hesitate in recommending this lovely cottage.

    Mark2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is an Airbnb par excellence. A self contained unit in a 17C farmhouse. Oonagh has thought of everything! I will definitely return. Is somewhere I delight in recommending. The stairs are quite steep, though, so limited mobility customers should check. Otherwise this is THE BEST Airbnb I’ve experienced. :-)

The cottage is a converted bake-house built over 300 years ago. It was converted in 1999 and so combines modern convenience with period charm. Gas fired central heating ensures the cottage is cosy, even during the winter. The cottage is located in the lovely country village of Haddenham in Buckinghamshire, 20 miles from Oxford, 53 miles from London.
Located in the centre of the village with good access to a bus service that runs every 30 minutes and train service to London that runs straight to Marylebone in 40 minutes.
Haddenham is a large village with all the services you may need during your stay: 4 churches, 4 pubs, children's park and playing fields, gym and many shops.
  • Very comfortable stay, extremely clean and cosy cottage right in the centre of the village. Had everything we could need and the host even left out a high chair for us which was greatly appreciated

  • A lovely space - two nicely decorated bedrooms, and a well kept downstairs with even a comfy reclining sofa! We managed to cook a roast dinner in the kitchen as well which was nice. Safe off-road parking and a nice location.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage! There was excellent communication before, during and after our stay. The cottage is cozy and we had everything we needed. Close to groceries, delicious fish and chips, and train station. John and Ailsa are wonderful hosts!

  • Stayed at Lucy's over the weekend. Location was great, I was on foot and relied on public transport, had no problem at all getting there from the rail station (the Sapphire 280 bus was well connected, taxi services around the area were great too). I arrived a bit late at night, was greeted by Lucy and her family members - all wonderful and friendly people. I was upgraded to a double room, which was a pleasant surprise. The room was great, clean, spacious. Same with the bathroom. I definitely left a happy camper!

    Mazlina2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lucy is a super host and wonderful person. I felt like home all the time and She took me out to show around the places and area. Took care of all the things that I may need. Trust me, you won’t find such level of hospitality usually. Highly recommended and I am happy

    Fahad2019-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lucy's place was exactly what I needed. It was so wonderful that she hosted me on the Christmas day! She also gave me a lift to her place to save me walking through a very busy road.

    Ishani2018-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lucy's place is very nice, everything was well explained and organised, with little friendly touches to make me feel welcome. First time I used AirBnB and had a lovely experience. The house is in a quiet area and I had a really good night's sleep.

    Paula2018-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lucy is a very good host. Very comfortable room. Look forward to coming back again

    Muriel2018-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lucy was a great host and allowed me to check in rather late due to train problems. Nice clean room and even had the choice to have breakfast the next day. Highly recommended.

    Robert Lee2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • I spent almost a month with Lucy and her son due to an internship in Thame. Over the whole time I felt very well, because Lucy took care of me like A Mother. I could always contact Lucy if I needed anything. On the other hand, she also accepted my privacy. The house is very nice. You notice the people life there every day and that creates a cosy atmosphere. I am very happy to live with Lucy and Alexander. We got along very well and I could always rely on Lucy. So she picked me up from the train at night, so I didn't have to take the bus alone or she helped me to research things etc.. Yesterday, for example, we went shopping and drinking coffee together and spent a nice day together :) Friday's the end of my month. I am reallylooking forward to home but I will also keep this time in good memory. I can therefore only recommend the accommodation to everyone.

  • We had a wonderful stay, a hidden gem!!

    Gemma2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Had such a lovely weekend at this clean and modern place. We loved the minimalist style of everything. Perfect for a winter break, it was cosy and comfortable. Really enjoyed the evenings in watching Netflix already set up on the TV. The view from the large window was beautiful, it was really relaxing to look outside and watch the birds of prey. Great location. Charlie’s info pack was helpful and communication was direct. Stuart answered our call promptly when we had a question. Would recommend!

    Wing2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place with an even better view. We unfortunately had bad weather while we were there, but it didn't matter as the home is very comfortable and cozy. Will definitely stay again the next time we're back.

    Deepak2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • FABULOUS STAY!!! Super stylish pod, right up our street. Stunning views and great amenities. Close enough to Oxford park and rides and other desirable locations. Highly recommend; 5*

    Kate2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Crinan Pod is a thoughtful and well designed space, ideal for a weekend escaping the city. In the middle of some beautiful villages, with close proximity to walks and lots of lovely pubs. Charlie was an amazing host, all of her recommendations were great. We will be back soon!

    Hayley2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Loved everything about the place. Well done Charlie!

    Andrew2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely gorgeous little pod, perfect for day trips to Oxford & Bicester with all the amenities (Netflix, Nespresso) you could ever want coupled with Skandi chic at its finest! Thank you!

    Mia2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The single most outstanding thing about the Crinan Pod is the “full-screen” view over the Bucks countryside when you raise the living-room blinds in the morning. Both beds are very comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped. And Long Crendon is a lovely village in its own right, as well as being close to Oxford, Waterperry Garden and the Chilterns. When our group grew to exceed the capacity of this Airbnb, Charlie and Stuart went out of their way to find us supplementary accommodation nearby, allowing us to spend a wonderful family Christmas. Thanks very much!

  • The pictures of Bryony's cottage don't do it justice, it's beautifully decorated and a cosy, comfortable home away from home. Easy access to Oxford, plenty of parking and the log burning fire made our stay at the Headley Cottage wonderful!

    Timothy2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay in this gorgeous cottage! Perfect, quiet and peaceful getaway. The whole cottage has been renovated to perfection. The log burner made it really cosy. Bed super comfy! Games provided too and some milk in the fridge 😊 There was lots of information about local places to go which we found helpful. Would reccomend Thame to visit with cute shops and nice country pubs. Thankyou and we will be back I'm sure! x

    Chantelle2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you to Bryony and Harri for a fantastic weekend away in their cute country cottage. The area around Shabbington was lovely and an easy drive from Thame. The cottage was easy to find thanks to the instructions Bryony sent over before hand and offered lots of lovely touches throughout to make our stay truly comfortable. We enjoyed using the proper log fire and will have to return in summer with better weather to check out some of the dedicated walks Bryony had put maps together for. Headley Cottage was just as rustic and relaxing as the photos show. I will be certainly be recommending Bryony’s place to family and friends. All the best Felix and Bex

The apartment is in a very quiet location and the bed is super-comfortable. It was difficult to regulate the temperature of the shower but Emma responded very promptly to our messages and hopefully this has now been rectified. We had a lovely weekend away.

The bedroom is a large, light room overlooking the tennis courts on a non-through road, with easy access to Thame town centre and good bus and rail links to London and Oxford. The house has an open plan main living room/kitchen/diner and a beautiful garden which you are welcome to use. There is ample free parking on the drive or opposite the house
This is the best house I have ever lived in, and reflects my slightly quirky character. Its filled with artwork, glasswork, tin toys and lego amongst other things.
This house is situated in one of the most pleasant parts of Thame, 10 minutes walk from the town centre, offering a good selection of local pubs and places to eat within walking distance, also just a few minutes walk from the Thame showground for anyone coming for Towersey festival or the Food festival.
