Museum
“Widely acclaimed as the best private museum in the country, the museum uses life size exhibits and scale models to present NZ's heritage in a series of super realistic and engaging displays. It is hard to believe this is all the work of one man, local artist Nigel Ogle.”

Park
“Perfect for the family - it has a kiddies play area. A great Duck Pond where you can sit and watch their antics or float a model boat!. Close to the Duck Pond near the kiddies play area is a beautiful Peter Pan statue built in memory to a deceased loved one - if you want to know more - go explore! The gardens are beautiful, with wooden tables and benches under tall trees - to enjoy a family picnic. The Park also has a lovely Japanese Garden where one can sit and contemplate. The flower beds are just stunning - with an array of colour and various species.”

Point of Interest
“ Waihi Beach has stunning views from the car park. There is a new coastal walk way to the top of the beach. The incline down to the actual beach is a metal path way - you will need good walking shoes - can be a bit slippery, even in dry weather. Once on the beach keep away from the cliffs -as they are unstable. If you like surf casting, the fishing is good - keep an eye on the tide though, or you could get cut off. Its a rugged coast line with amazing geological strata....you can see fossilised shells in the cliff face, that were on the sea bed thousands of years ago. Just a couple of on the two headlands in times gone by ...it must of been an amazing sight. ”
