As many face school closures and shift toward remote work, we are a work- and family-friendly place. Gymea Cottage is a 2 storey cabin. The upper deck has an ensuite bedroom, lounge and kitchen, with a gorgeous veranda sitting amongst the tree tops. The lower deck also has an ensuite bedroom, with stunning veranda & views, but a more compact lounge and kitchen. However, this room is much closer to the spa. Whichever you choose, you can indulge in your own private spa and watch the stars.
There are 2 single kayaks on-site as well as mountain bikes which you can use at your leisure to explore the property. Pure Valley is nestled between the gorge of Popran National park with the spring fed Hominy creek running through it. Whether you want to go horse back riding, abseiling, quad biking, play golf, do yoga or purely relax - the options are nearby! Due to the remoteness of the location we recommend that you do all your shopping before you arrive.
Pure valley's 125 acres is set deep with in the gorge of Popran national Park. The property offers stunning walks through the valley floor & up into the gorge. The houses sit high above the tidal Hominy creek which flows into Mangrove creek & Mangrove creek flows into the Hawkesbury river. Pure Valley is surrounded by wilderness but has all the comforts of home.
  • A lovely little spot with an extremely responsive host. Nice area, but you do really need to bring all your groceries with you! Very relaxed at the end of the stay. Thank you!

The spa is the highlight, nestled in under the stars and surrounded by the Aussie bush, it was the perfect place to unwind and the essential oils added made it smell amazing too. We would definitely come back.

  • Gorgeous little spot for a romantic weekend away. Even better if you’ve got a runabout to explore the water ways or to go and grab dinner or lunch somewhere. Very stylish. Very quiet.

    Ingrid2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Dangar is a little haven and Leanne's shack was perfect for a weekend getaway. Communication was easy and she was very helpful, she even tried to help find alternate dates when we weren't able to stay the full booking. The shack was clean, access was as described, it was quiet and just what was needed. We enjoyed cooking up our dinner and sitting out on the front dock watching the boats and the train go past in the far off distance. We took the water taxi directly to the shack to arrive with our gear and food supplies, but the ferry home. Either way, both are easy. There is a buggy you can take from the ferry arrival spot if you are concerned about having too much baggage.

    Kristin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at Hampton house. What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy your time with nature. We actually caught some fishes and also do BBQ there. Highly recommended :) will definitely be back there again very soon

    Bank2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay, it was perfect to celebrate our 3 year anniversary! Being so close to the water was lovely and even though it rained it was still so nice to just sit there and read and watch the world go by. As mentioned; you do hear the train go by every 15 mins or so but we actually quite liked watching it go past. It wasn't a terrible sound. If anyone is wondering, like we were, the spa is up near the house. But the boathouse itself was quite private, bar people going out onto their jetty every so often to take their boats. In all it was lovely, and just what we wanted. A very relaxing few days!

    Crystal2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a dream! If you’re thinking whether to book or not...do it right now!!

    Bonnie2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Boatshed is stunning, beautifully designed and in an amazing location right on the water with your own private beach. Leanne was excellent to deal with and we loved staying here for the night.

  • We had the best weekend away at Kim and locky’s place. It was a beautiful little spot that was perfect for all of us to recharge! They were extremely accommodating with our extra guests and allowed us a late check out as well. Unfortunately it was raining most weekend so we didn’t have much time to chill in the hot tub, but I’m sure we’ll be back again to make full use of the place! Thanks again for having us x

  • Such a beautiful place to unwind

    Jess2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay. The property is beautiful and very clean. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, and sitting on the deck and in the spa overlooking the view was delightful.

  • great host

    Yung2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • We were completely amazed by Locky and Kim’s warm hospitality, it is by far the best we’ve experienced. Be prepared for a friendly welcome, they are very accommodating and helpful. Not to mention such a unique space, which is so gently tucked away from the hassles of every-day life... Kim and Locky have an eye for decorating their little hide away, with simplicity and elegance - the main room has the most stunning view of the bush land, the place is hard to fault. Our only regret is not staying a little longer, we will be sure to visit in the cooler months for a slightly different experience I’m sure. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

    Mark2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Expect to be cut off from reception... but in the best possible way. You lookout from bed to a gorgeous sunlit valley right at your door step, walk out into a beautiful mix of modern rustic architecture and nature. Of course you’ll probably end up spending 50% of your time in the hot tub but it’s worth it. Fairy lights come on at night and make the tranquility of this stay truly magical. Wish we stayed longer to explore the hikes but Kim and locky are the loveliest and will definitely point you in the right direction of the waterfall and kangaroos. Thank you for making my birthday weekend a magical and relaxing one spent with my closest friends!

    Samantha2019-11-25T00:00:00Z

East facing (watch the sunrise) private fully self-contained studio apartment overlooking the Hawkesbury River. Tranquil setting, ideal for a quiet getaway to relax and unwind. Easy access to Sydney and the Central Coast. Mooney Mooney Club has an à la carte menu as well as bar food and is a 10 minute walk away. Brooklyn is 5 minutes drive and has restaurants, hotel, take aways, boat hire and shops.
The apartment has its own private entrance and is fully self contained. The apartment usually enjoys a cool evening breeze off the water, however, there is an air conditioner for those hot still nights. We love living on the Hawkesbury and enjoy sharing it with guests who respect our home. Mooney Mooney is a quiet, tranquil village with an abundance of wild life. We want our guests to enjoy their stay and would hope they appreciate and are considerate of the environment.
  • Amazing trip, great view, lovely hospitality

    Daniel2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Room with a view...what I most loved about my stay was the location. It was very special looking out over the vast waters of Mooney Mooney Creek , enjoying the birdlife and weather changes. All the basics for a comfortable stay with a warm welcome from Bettine and Troy. I enjoyed a drive on the Old Pacific Highway via Holgate to Terrigal and and my favourite, Avoca. Open the car windows and listen for the Bellbirds on the forrest drive.

    Jill2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for 3 nights. Everything is as described on the website. Great views, good aircon and wifi. Easy parking, clean and quiet. Wonderful to sleep with the windows and curtains open so as to wake to the beautiful view.

  • Absolutely fantastic location. Although all of Mooney Mooney unfortunately lost power on our first night (thunderstorm), Troy and Bettine were quick to make sure we were okay, offered to store our food in their fridge, let us charge our phone with their generator, and provided candles for the evening. What could have been a disaster turned into an all the more romantic two-night stay! Highly recommend.

I love strolling down to Pittwater for a swim. This takes 2 minutes. It’s easy to wine and dine without driving.

This beautiful secluded property has un-interrupted water views spanning as far as the eye can see. The house backs onto acerage of native forest and has beautiful lawn areas to enjoy a drink or two whilst soaking in the magnificent views. If you are after a holiday house away from the hustle and bustle of the city this place is for you. The property is accessible by road. We do not allow large groups or parties here. Families are ok. You will have the whole property to yourself.
This house is located in Spencer on Wisemans Ferry Road. There are a number of local convenience shops within a 10 minute drive from the house but I would recommend stocking up on groceries before you arrive. The house has recently been renovated with a brand new kitchen, new flooring throughout, new furniture and a new paint job. We have also installed new ducted Airconditiong throughout the property and have installed ceiling fans in each room upstairs, this will keep you cool in summer and warm in winter. We are in the process of renovating the downstairs level but it is comfortable and secure. There is also a fire place in the lounge room upstairs. Please note I do not allow parties here. It's a beautiful peaceful space and I prefer respectful guests who will take care of the property like its their own. Every guest must be put on the reservation booking, my cleaner lives next door and can usually tell if more people than listed on booking are staying at the property. The price of this property is to accomodate water usage (we are on tank wanter and its very expensive to have it filled up given where the house it). We also provide a half barrel full of firewood, if you need more firewood please let me know and I will arrange. The driveway is quite steep and can be a little rough but most cars can drive up. Pets need to be approved before booking, please message me if bringing a pet, thank you :)
This property is located in the quiet village of spencer. The area is known for its breathtaking views of the Hawkesbury river and mountains
  • Beautiful view, very clean and very quiet. Chris had very good communication and was very helpful. Make sure you bring all supplies and lot of books as not many activities in the area. The national park was closed while we stayed so maybe would be more to do with that open.

    Pip2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Above all else Chris was a very good host responding to our requests within minutes ! He made the place comfortable and he is extremely reliable. The place itself also gets a 100% rating because it’s just breathtakingly beautiful. Must be seen to actually believe. You will be overwhelmed as soon as you open the door. Just perfect!

  • WHAT A GREAT HOUSE! Great views! One outdoor verandah downstairs and another upstairs with huge windows. A fully functioning kitchen. Two toilets (one outside, but still very useful for a family). Three bedrooms which are separated, not neighbouring with very comfortable beds and bedding. A TV with Netflix and music for dull weather. Oh, and ducted air conditioning which was great in the late afternoon.

    Linda2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Chris’s place was wonderful, such a beautiful spot on the river and lovely decorated home. Chris was extremely helpful and quick at responding to queries. Highly recommend for a quiet weekend away.

Architecturally designed new home on the beautiful Hawkesbury River. The house has sweeping views of the river and Dharug National Park from every window, including the two story glass facade. It features a large in built spa on the deck and a vibrant lounge with fireplace. *Please note this is a quiet neighborhood and we would appreciate if you are respectful with noise at night. We have been experiencing a lot of parties at the house and it is hard on the neighbours*
Large heated spa on deck, fireplace in lounge with sweeping views, super king sized master bedroom with private deck and free standing bath, fully stocked galley kitchen overlooking the river.
Beautiful quiet country escape only 1.5 hours from Sydney CBD or 1 hour from the Central Coast. The town of Wisemans Ferry is 10 minutes drive which has 2 great historic pubs, cafes, golf course and other amenities. Alternatively the Wombat Café is walkable distance serving fresh tasty food. The Hawkesbury Region has lots of activities to keep guests occupied, including wineries - and ofcourse boating.
  • This house is absolutely gorgeous. Had a nice, relaxing weekend here. The king sized bed in the master bedroom was super comfortable, and the hot tub was a nice added bonus. The stairs to the house are pretty steep, but once you get inside it’s worth it. Katy was an amazing host, very communicative and went above and beyond to accommodate all of our needs during our stay. I absolutely would stay here again!

    Deandra2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place for four girlfriends to catch up and relax for a couple of days. Once there we didn’t move - we read, relaxed and chatted for 48 hours. The house is very clean. Beds are comfortable, showers are great and bathroom has everything you need (plenty toilet rolls 🤣) for a couple of days. Katy was really lovely to deal with.

    Karen2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful - more beautiful than the pictures suggest. The whole house showcases the stunning view, while inside it is stylish and comfortable. We couldn't have asked for more. We made early starts, spending the mornings outdoors, which I would recommend, but if you like to sleep in you may want to bring eye masks as at the time of writing there are no curtains.

    Daniel2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

  • Lisa & Rob’s guest house is outstanding!Wonderful hosts with such attention to detail in a beautiful location. Everything you could need and want.

    Amber2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • I don’t believe that a review can truly convey how wonderful our stay at Lisa and Rob’s place was. Their place exudes with beauty, elegance and style. They went above and beyond to make our stay special, adding small touches. We would highly recommend staying there for anyone looking for a luxurious, relaxing stay. Thank you, we look forward to staying again!

    Jacinta2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Albion Guest House accommodation is a simply perfect oasis in a private setting. Everything about the guest house and it's surrounds are delightful, the guest house being architecturally designed and the decor tasteful and absolutely beautiful with a definite Hamptons vs beach cottage vibe. A salt water pool finishes the picture and it all makes for wonderful holiday accommodation. I couldn't recommend staying here highly enough. It is truly beautiful and Lisa & Rob wonderful hosts going above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable.

    Kellie2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa & Rob have created a perfect haven for guests to relax & unwind. The little personal touches throughout make you feel “special” & cared about. The whole experience was just brilliant. Lisa has a great sense of style which shows in every aspect of her quest house. The sheets were crisp & white, the towels were expensive & lux. The bathrooms were sparkling as was the laundry & kitchen... from the Maxwell Williams crockery to the plentiful supply of cutlery, pots, pans, milk, bread, tomatoes, bacon, butter, juice, & mushrooms for brekkie. Not very often you get a full supply of laundry powder, washer, dryer & even beach towels, so, so good! Worth every cent. As for privacy, we could use any of the facilities surrounding the pool and veranda, it was all very private and welcoming. Not once did we feel like we were unwelcome... I would give this stay a 12 out of 10.. it’s just heaven on earth and Lisa & Rob should be very proud of the little oasis they have in Umina Beach. We will return, no doubt about it ✅🏝

    Gaile2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Lisa & Rob's Guesthouse for 3 nights and it was just great! Super nicely decorated with many details, squeaky clean, a lot of space and it had everything you need for a pleasant stay. Lisa and Rob were very accommodating and hospitable, we felt very comfortable. We recommend!!

    Tina2020-01-22T00:00:00Z

  • We had a wonderful stay at Rob and Lisa’s guesthouse. It was so comfortable, clean and homely. It had everything we needed and more! Lisa and Rob were very friendly and prompt with communication. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this as a place to stay to all our friends and family.

    Alice2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely week staying in this apartment. Our evenings on the balcony overlooking the view were wonderful. Carol was the perfect hostess - surpassing all our expectations. We were particularly touched that after she found out we were travelling with our 4-month old, a baby bath and baby toiletries were waiting for us in the bathroom! There is no public access to the Hawkesbury River for swimming in Cottage Point and no direct access from the apartment either, however Carol asked a neighbour if we could use their private access. It was glorious!

    Katherine2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • After a recommendation from friends, we can agree Treetops and Cottage Point are a beautiful place to rest and relax. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay, with a gorgeous view and lunch at the Cottage Point Inn

Rustic on the outside, stylish on the inside with absolute water front position. Quiet, off grid experience with plenty of comfort and all the modern essentials. Ideal for those looking to unwind and switch off. If you've ever wondered how good tiny house living can be come & try it out. This is the perfect place to read (or write) that book: relax and let your worries drift away on the tide of the flowing river; swim; fish; or simply listen to the birdsong in the trees. A great lovers retreat
This dwelling is situated on a multi - dwelling property. Besides ourselves there is another family and 2 other airbnb properties. • Great experience and amazing place. The couple were lovely and we enjoyed every minute. Thank you guys!

    Tina2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a stunningly beautiful, quiet space. It's immersed in nature and the river is just magic. I wanted to get away and do some writing and it was exactly the space I needed. In between bouts of writing I'd jump in the river or take a walk around the property. Every care was taken to ensure that I had a great time and Gaurima and Nirvana were very kind hosts who gave me the space I needed.

    Rebecca2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I wanted tranquility and privacy before I headed back to work. This state of the art, self contained, environmentally sustainable modern tiny house was perfect. Just 2 metres from the water's edge where the tidal salt water river is a continuously flowing source of interest, contemplation, bird life, jumping fish and mirrored reflections. Though I didn't cook while I had my 2 day retreat, it has a gas stove top, microwave oven and a BabyQ Weber on the deck for those preferring to cook. The shower is great, the bed very comfortable and the space is unique with Swedish style space saving cupboards, secret drawers, pantry, a table and a desk. Everything is made from solid quality wood. I decided to leave the double bed down and the tri-fold doors open during most of my stay which gave me a sense of being one with my surroundings. I can definitely recommend this accommodation. I'll be back for sure!

  • I have just returned from a fabulous month at this wonderful apartment….I did not want to leave! It is clean, modern, light and airy, and has everything you need for a long stay, not to mention the most amazing views and sunsets over Pittwater from both the lounge and bedroom. I particularly loved watching and listening to the birdlife - cockatoos and rosellas everywhere. It is located in a nice residential road within easy walking distance, or short drive into Avalon, which has great vibe - lots of cafes, bakeries and shops. There is even a Girdlers at the end of the road! Evelyn and her husband are wonderful hosts. Good communication on booking and prior to arrival, and during my stay they were always available if needed. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a Pittwater retreat, it is absolutely stunning and you won’t be disappointed. I will definitely be back. Thanks Evelyn.

  • Evelyn’s home was one of the best Airbnb’s that my partner and I have stayed in. The location and views were amazing and even though it was a bit overcast for our stay, it was lovely to open up the big doors and watch the storm clouds roll in. The couch was also one of the comfiest ever. All the photos were accurate and the extra touch of supplied beach towels was really nice. It was really easy to drive around to the beaches and Evelyn’s dinner recommendation for Jonah’s was amazing, a must visit!! We had the most awesome and relaxing weekend and will definitely be staying again!!

  • We had a wonderful few days staying at this place. It is situated in a great location. We had everything we needed and the place was spotless. The decor was lovely. Our hostess was excellent - very warm and welcoming and gave us lots of ideas of things to do in the area. Would definitely highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be back here for future stays.

  • Our stay at Avalon beach at Evelyns was everything we could have hoped for. We were after a much needed break and this delivers on all counts. We felt so incredibly relaxed and refreshed. The views were simply great , the area is just fantastic with everything at your fingertips for exploring! Evelyn is there if you need her for anything and had some great tips on cafe and restaurant suggestions .. Thanks Evelyn... we loved Girdlers at the end of the street for breakfast and coffee.

Lower mangrove is a beautifully secluded and sheltered area that is a great place to visit, a real hidden gem very close to Sydney (under an hours drive from Hornsby) The closest 'shop' to Lower Mangrove is in Spencer, a 10 minute drive away, it is open 6 days a week excluding Tuesday and has some basic provisions, it also does a nice scone and jam and great burgers - it is best to bring all of your supplies with you for the meals you plan to have at home. The town of Wisemans Ferry has a beautiful old stone pub and the drive there is a nice one ending with a trip on the Wisemans car ferry (free of charge) to cross the river to the town. At Mangrove Mountain, The Springs golf course has a great restaurant and golf course that are worth a visit. On the way to the cottage there are many local growers where you can buy organic fruit and vegetables, as well as many honesty boxes along the sides of the road where you can purchase fresh seasonal produce. • From the moment we pulled into the drive, this was a dream weekend. On entry we were welcomed by a beautiful selection of fresh produce from the garden, including the most delicious home-produced honey. The space is so gorgeous, the location spectacular, and we luxuriated in peace and quiet all weekend. We were lucky to be there on a rainy (but not stormy) weekend so we took advantage of the abundance of water and sat in the hot bath in the garden while we watched the mountain mists rising through the rain. We wanted for nothing all weekend! Pascale is a super host, very quick and helpful with every reply. We will be regulars at the Grower's Cottage. Looking forward to enjoying the fire pit and an outdoor bath in winter!

    Xanthe2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Service and communication with host was second to none! Property was comfortable, gorgeous and clean. A little slice of heaven if you're looking for a weekend getaway from the Sydney hustle and bustle. Highly recommend.

    Sarah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Growers Cottage was exactly what we had hoped for. A romantic spot, secluded from the world where my husband and I could escape parenting duties for a weekend. We happened to be there on the worst weather weekend of the year but it was still so relaxing. The cottage is styled so thoughtfully with everything in arms reach. The extra touch of freshly picked veggies, a bottle of wine and honey from the bees on site was wonderful. The space was very clean and we only wish we could have used the bath, fire pit and pizza oven outside! Pascale was quick with communication and went out of her way to make sure we had arrived given the torrential rain that was occurring on our weekend. She was also kind enough to give some updates about the tides as the weather got worse. Her thoughtful suggestions of things to do nearby came in handy when we wanted to explore a little bit. We will most definitely be back - hopefully on a sunny day. We would definitely recommend it if you just need to get away either alone or with your loved one!

  • Amazing, amazing, amazing! What a wonderful place that is beautifully decorated. Stylish and clean. Pascale has clearly put in a lot of effort when adding special touches. The freshly picked tomatoes and garlic were delicious. The honey was the best I’ve tasted! Extremely private and the outdoor area is lovely. We would definitely come back

    Emilie2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The grower’s cottage is a beautiful place off the beaten path. The cottage itself is so thoughtfully decorated and has everything you need. We picked kale, beans, artichoke, and chard from the garden and there were fresh tomatoes, lemons, limes, garlic, wine and honey waiting for us when we arrived. We loved cooking with the fresh ingredients and walking the grounds. We would also highly recommend the Walkabout animal sanctuary nearby. Pascale was a wonderful and attentive host. It was a perfect ending to our honeymoon.

    Erica2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • The growers cottage is the perfect getaway spot! We had the most magical time there! The cottage is so tastefully decorated and the whole place is just so serene and relaxing. We really enjoyed walking around the grounds, nature watching and the outdoor bath. Pascale also gave us lots of great tips for the area and left some freshly picked produce and honey for us when we arrived!

  • Even though we chose a bad weekend with the rain, our entire stay was so relaxing. We were made to feel welcome from start to finish and waking up to a view of the river every morning was just breathtaking. It is always hard to find a place like this when you travel with your pet but even the dog enjoyed his weekend away!

And the fresh coffee machine. A delight! The bed is super comphy and the new bathroom is lovely! The pontoon was wonderful to swim off. The birdsounds were delightful and numerous. I could spend hours on the balcony and hanging chair just reading amd relaxing. Howard and Janice were wonderful, friendly hosts and we can't wait to head back.

  • What an amazing stay!! Howard's place was just what the doctor ordered for us city slickers. From a cool room upon entry with the air con turned on with the heat to dulcate tunes awaiting us we felt relaxed as soon as we stepped foot in his place.

  • What a fabulous place to getaway from the city for the weekend! A beautiful outlook from the deck onto the Hawkesbury River and everything you could possibly need in the cosy house. Howard was an excellent communicator and we will definitely be back for another relaxing stay.

This original timber and sandstone fishermans cottage on the waters edge of beautiful Mackerel Beach in Pittwater, has been lovingly restored into a secluded beach and bush hideaway and couple's retreat.
Perfectly positioned, the Little Black Shack’s north east aspect lets you wake to the sunrise over Palm Beach headland and enjoy the sun all day long. The sea breeze keeps the shack cool during summer whilst the tree-lined ridge of Ku-ring-gai National Park behind, shelters it from the cold southerly winds during winter. With its rustic, hand built sandstone open fireplace, comfy leather chairs, soft cowhide rugs and full-length window box seat, The Little Black Shack is also a cosy winter cabin. There are two bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Just metres from the water, every room features windows and French or barn doors opening out to uninterrupted views of Mackerel Beach, Pittwater, Barrenjoey Headland, Palm Beach and beyond. The interior features recycled and hand made furniture with an eclectic mix of nautical antiques and collectables gathered from travels around the world and forages along the beach. The lounge, dining and gourmet chef’s kitchen are open plan. The lounge features a hand built sandstone fireplace and a floor to ceiling bookcase with an extensive library. A large flat screen TV, Blue-ray DVD and the latest Bose surround sound Wi-Fi stereo are hidden behind the doors of a rustic handmade cupboard with Bose speakers in the outdoor areas and Bose Wi-Fi systems in each bedroom. The window seat spanning the full length of the front of the lounge room, is the perfect spot to relax with a good book, chill out with your own playlist, take a nap or gaze out of any one of the 6 windows overlooking the stunning beaches and bay. The kitchen features concrete bench tops, wooden cupboards made from the original floorboards, a large farmhouse sink, commercial grade cookware, microwave, Ilve gas stove and electric oven, perfect for creating your favourite meals. Two French doors open from the kitchen/dining area onto a small covered balcony and bar area overlooking the water. Once you are here you will never want to leave - which is why the gourmet chef’s kitchen comes equipped with everything you need and a fully stocked pantry. You can also help yourself to the fresh herbs in the kitchen garden. The original sandstone bathroom features a beautiful stone bath and a large copper shower with amazing water views. The main bedroom has a generous king bed and access to a private lawn and garden. The rustic hand made bed has loads of comfy down pillows and is elevated to take full advantage of the water views! The second bedroom is reached by a short set of sandstone steps in front of the house. This cosy room features a super comfortable hand made queen bed. The room is built from the original sandstone, lined with timber and has a soft cowhide rug on the floor. It also enjoys stunning panoramic water views through the window and barn door. It has its own private stone terrace overlooking the water and a grassed area shaded by a large Frangipani tree, with a hammock to relax in ... Both rooms are beautifully furnished with cowhide rugs, antique cupboards and chests of drawers and the bedding is 100% linen. There is a large north facing sun deck at the front of the shack and a covered terrace and outdoor hand-built sandstone kitchen. Featuring a wood fired oven and charcoal BBQ/fireplace this space is perfect for all day alfresco living, dining, cooking and entertaining. There is an outdoor shower set amongst the trees half way down the front steps leading to a secluded sandy beach at low tide. Here you can rinse off after swimming or shower under the stars on warm summer evenings. The cottage is surrounded by native coastal gardens and terraced grass level areas overlooking the water and shaded by huge Frangipani trees. The Little Black Shack is completely eco friendly. Windows, barn doors and French doors allow the sea breeze to circulate and cool the house in summer while the open sandstone fireplace warms the house during winter using firewood collected from fallen trees off the property. Rainwater is harvested for bathing and washing which is recycled to irrigate the main garden. The grounds also feature a small kitchen garden to provide you with fresh herbs. When it comes to the interiors, if we couldn’t find it second hand, we made it by hand, from recycled, repurposed and found materials. Candles and oil lanterns are provided for alternative lighting.
Whilst we’re only a mile from the mainland and Palm Beach, we might as well be a million miles away … Getting here is part of the experience. Once you board ‘Myra’ the old timber ferry at Palm Beach you leave the city and your worries behind. The Little Black Shack is reached via a short walking track at the end of the beach or via the rocks along the beach at low tide. Once you are here, close the gates, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the view, the peace and the quiet. Relax and unwind on Mackerel's beautiful main sandy beach or enjoy swimming or snorkelling right out the front on a secluded section of the beach, fishing off the rocks below, kayaking or boating in the crystal clear protected waters of Pittwater. The surrounding National Park offers some incredible bush walks to secluded beaches, The Basin Lagoon, ancient Aboriginal carving sites and incredible lookouts. Take a leisurely stroll along Mackerel Beach or through the valley behind it where you will find friendly locals (including wallabies and bush turkeys) and some original fibro beach cottages. You can also hire your own 'tinny' from Palm Beach to explore Pittwater’s many coves and bays by water. If you feel like heading back to the mainland, the old timber ferry ‘Myra’ leaves on the hour and is just a 10-minute ride to Palm Beach wharf. From here you can make the trek up to Barrenjoey Lighthouse, walk to Palm Beach, dine at the local restaurants, bars and cafes or browse the shops, galleries and Palm Beach markets (on set days). You can also head into Avalon village, just 5 minutes down the road by car. Here you can explore the many shops, restaurants and bars, visit the surf beach or take in a movie.
  • We loved our two nights at The Little Black Shack - an escape from the traffic, noise and busyness of Sydney life - you cross Pittwater to Mackerel Beach and you really are in a bygone era. Ingrid & Jamie have thoughtfully and generously created a haven by the sea. The water views across to Barrenjoey Heads are there from every part of the shack. Linen sheets on comfortable beds, a fully equipped kitchen and pantry, even a wood fired pizza oven with wood and instructions how - ready to go. Gorgeous walks from the shack up to Mackerel Lookout or down to Currawong Beach for a swim. A stay at The Little Black Shack is quite the adventure and absolutely worth doing!

  • This was our second weekend stay at the Little Black Shack with our two small kids (5 and 3 years). We only stayed 2 nights but it felt like a week - this place feels a million miles away from the rush of real life but only just a short ferry ride from Palm Beach. The spectacular view and the lovely thoughtful touches make this a special place that we love and so do our kids. We can’t wait to stay again.

  • Fabulous House and location!

    Kathy2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Little Black Shack is such a special experience. Remote (yet accessible), unique, relaxing. We had the most wonderful visit with friends, celebrating anniversaries. Come prepared so you don't have to leave this special slice of paradise (we did an online grocery order and collected en route to Mackeral Beach). Ingrid and Jamie were always available for any enquiries and helped make this stay as easy as possible. Couldn't recommend more highly, can't wait to return and can't wipe the smile off our faces thinking about our trip!

    Alexandra2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at Ingrid & Jamies "shack" (it was very luxurious for a shack!). Such a beautiful location with everything you could possibly need. If you are looking for a get-away where you can truly relax, unwind and enjoy the simple things, then this is it. We decided we would love to spend the rest of our days at this place! We walked around to the lagoon at low tide and walked right up through the mangroves - it was magical! A very special place that we would love to return to.

    Bec2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • You won’t want to leave! Amazing views in a secluded part of the beach with the loveliest shack full of all the mod cons and comfy beds/linen and decorated with so much character. We truly can’t wait to come back again. Most relaxed weekend I’ve had in a long time! Hosts are super friendly and helpful and shack was very clean and well kept.

    Miriam2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Little Black Shack was just wonderful! Everything you’d possibly need for a relaxing time! I’m dreaming of my next visit...

  • One of the most amazing places I have stayed in, The Little Black 'Magic' Shack delivered everything and more. So much thought and attention to detail, super comfy bed and one of the prettiest views and locations you would find anywhere in the world.

    Great Mackerel Beach, NSW, Australia

Please note - we have not been affected by the fires. The Loft at Kyangatha; an idyllic farm stay less than an hours drive from Sydney. The Loft is a quirky sandstone and timber hideaway just 30m from the river. Set in a paddock with views of pasture, river and the hills of Popran and Dharug National Parks. Perfect for a couple (or 2+1) it is an ideal place to get away and relax. Enjoy calming walks around the property, relax by the river, go for a paddle or have a BBQ on the waters edge.
The Loft is a quirky space that will appeal to those who love the outdoors and privacy. Designed over two levels with an outside shower and amenities under the external stairs. The ground floor has the kitchen / dining / lounge, amenities and a huge undercover deck. The galley style kitchen has a gas cooktop and microwave oven with crockery, cutlery and utensils provided. The dining / lounge area has a TV monitor for you to play movies from your computer (there is no TV reception). It opens on to a large deck with BBQ and views of the adjoining paddock and river which is a stones throw away. Upstairs is an attic style bedroom containing a double and single bed which opens on to a private balcony with fantastic views of the river and surrounding paddocks. It seems you can almost reach out and touch the river. It is a short stroll across the grass to the river (we have almost a kilometre of river frontage) that takes you to another BBQ area which has under cover outdoor setting and open BBQ. Enjoy a BBQ (we provide the settings and utensils if you don’t have any) or take one of the two kayaks for a paddle or bring your own. If you like animals we have a small herd of very curious cows. The more adventurous will wander over to you to see what is happening. We also have two friendly horses that are very happy to be patted. If they are in the Loft's paddock don’t be surprised if they come over to the deck to see what is happening! The friendliest of all though is our Cattle Dog / Kelpie cross who only loves basking in the sun more than being scratched. If you are lucky you may see the pair of magnificent sea eagles which frequently fly up the river or the pair of spectacular wedge tail eagles that hunt in the hilltops. Close by is Popran National Park with walking and mountain bike tracks. Other attractions are the choice of two public golf courses, horse riding at Glenworth Valley or boat hire and great fishing on the Hawksbury River at Spencer. It is an easy drive to charming Wollombi with its great cafes and old pub, Wisemans Ferry with its famous pub or Peats Ridge with its café, farmer's market and well received Springs Restaurant. Spencer is about 10 minutes away for a great burger, fish and chips and coffee. Tea, coffee and milk is provided on arrival. There is a coffee plunger so bring your own grind if you can't live without your particular brew. Get away from the daily grind; we dont have mobile reception (you can get that a few km down the road) and only limited wi-fi that is OK for social media but not streaming. Looking for something more comfortable or more people? Try the Barn at Kyangatha My default listing is for 2 days, however if no weekend booking has been made by Friday I am happy with 1 day for that weekend. Pls contact me Fri or Sat via Airbnb so I can make a variation.
  • Steven is a very helpful host. The Loft was sparkling clean and as described. It’s definitely a bit different: the upstairs bedroom is reached by an outside staircase. Kitchen, toilet and lounge area are down next to a big deck. Both areas are very open, with no screens, but the mossie coils provided were amazingly effective. We took our own kayaks and had a 3 hour paddle downstream which was really enjoyable. Getting the kayaks in and out of the water was a bit tricky but doable. It’s quiet, quite picturesque and a great weekend escape from Corona-madness!

    Carrie2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Stevens place was a lovely escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. In a quiet location, you can really relax. The sound of birds wakes you up in the morning and blue dog is the best little housemate. Basic amenities but has all you need! Steven is a lovely communicative host who was very accommodating to us

    Valerie2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great little rustic cabin on the river. Steven is a helpful host who finds a good middle ground betweenbeing up for a friendly chat and giving you all the privacy you need. Blue dog is a handsome little guy who loves a sooky tummy rub. Nearby Popran national park and Somersby have nice waterfalls and swimming holes which we also explored. Thanks for the relaxing weekend away Steven.

  • Loved staying at The Loft, great set up in a peaceful location. Was perfect being right on the river and making use of the kayaks provided. • Amazing location if you want to get away from the rush of the city and just relax. 10/10!

A secluded escape just a 20 minute water taxi ride from Brooklyn, The River Cottage is the perfect place to relax and reset.
Surrounded by national park and nestled in one of the most secluded inlets of the Hawkesbury River, Marramarra Creek is truly one of the best keep secrets in Sydney. This north facing eco house looks across the water to the towering cliffs beyond, promising tranquility the moment you arrive. After arriving by water taxi or your own boat - The River Cottage is tidal boat access only - enjoy lazy days overlooking the water, fishing from the jetty, a spot of bush walking or a long lunch at nearby Peats Bite (www.peatsbite.com.au). The River Cottage has a double Queen bed in the open plan upstairs bedroom and two sofa beds downstairs and best suits a couple. There's a fully equipped kitchen, microwave, stove, toaster, Nespresso machine, BBQ, DVD library and iPhone/iPod sound system. The River Cottage is the perfect place to finish that book, start writing your own (Oscar-winning producers, writers and novelists have stayed at The River Cottage) or simply unwind on the private pontoon in the abundant sun as the pelicans swim by. Only 90 minutes total travel time from the Sydney CBD, The River Cottage is a world away from roads, noise and stress. Please note that the house accommodates two only (one queen bed) and there is a sofa bed that can be used for children/guests etc. The cottage consists of a large upstairs bedroom and downstairs living area on the water's edge with living room, bathroom and kitchen. Linen (sheets, pillow cases) is supplied however you'll need your own bath and hand towels plus any linen for additional guests if there are more than two staying. The River Cottage is boat access only, and water taxi bookings can be made via Hawkesbury Taxis (0422 300 100). Or BYO boat, or rent one in Brooklyn (www.brooklyncentral.com.au). Cost from the nearest pickup point (near Hawkesbury River bridge) is approximately $130 each way. Note that the River Cottage is situated in pristine national park and is surrounded by bush, meaning there is abundant life up there and all that goes with being in an isolated natural habitat. As the house is on a tidal part of the river and accessible by boat only it is difficult for us to respond to emergency requests quickly, but we'll do our absolute best. Due to the tides access may not be possible at low tides for up to a few hours. Our rental price is set to take into account these variables, so we ask you be conscious that a trip to Marramarra Creek is an adventure - and not with the things you may take for granted in a luxury beach house accessible by land! That said, all our guests fall in love with this hidden gem of the river and many end up wanting to buy in the area.
The settlement at Marramarra Creek is a secluded and peaceful enclave. Please respect the privacy of the neighbours and limit any noise or disturbance. And please - no jet skis.
  • Amazing place, beautiful location, extremely tranquil, would highly recommend for anyone wanting to relax, switch off or have a nice peaceful getaway. The place was lovely, stocked with movies and board games, we got really invested in one of the puzzles. Andrew was a great host; extremely responsive and was able to answer the many many questions I asked. Will definitely come back again!

    Samarth2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The secluded charm of this property is exactly as described - fish jumping in the river is about the only traffic we saw. We particularly enjoyed the thoughtfully curated selection of books and each read about three! Many thanks for a peaceful weekend stay

  • What can I say about this little piece of paradise. AMAZING!!!. The location and the house exceeded my expectations. The view was outstanding from anywhere in the house but the jetty was my fave spot to sit. We took our own boat and launched from dusthole boat ramp in Berowra. We found this route so beautiful and scenic and easy to get to the house. We explored the hawksbury, bar point and danger island. We fished right off the jetty and hooked a few. The house had everything you could need, there was also a good selection of board games, cards and puzzles. The bed was very comfortable. Andrew was an amazing host, very good communication and made us feel very comfortable. Will definitely stay again and would definitely recommend the river cottage to everyone I know.

  • A lovely private retreat for those looking to escape the hustle & bustle of the city. Clean & comfortable you can get there by water taxi but having your own boat or hiring one is well worth it to explore the surrounding waters

    Amelia2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay here. Very relaxing an peaceful place to stay. If you don’t have your own boat, make sure to take all the food with you as there are no shops around. The water taxi is $130 each way, which I find a bit expensive to just go for groceries. Andrew and Amy replied to my messages very fast and made sure that everything was ok. I would definitely come back here and recommend to friends. The place is also very spacious and comfortable. Loved the board games and DVD selection.

  • Marie is an outstanding host! Comms were great and she went out of her way to make us feel at home and give us local tips. The space is beautiful with a gorgeous view. Only an hour and half outside of Sydney, it felt like paradise - for a great price, too!

  • The house is beautifully situated and appointed. We enjoyed the fabulous views from the deck whilst sipping wine and talking. Only a couple of hours drive from Sydney made this a perfect weekend getaway. Marie is a responsive host and the house is beautifully clean and comfortable. There are stairs up to the house about 2 flights worth, but certainly not unmanageable. There are lovely walks and nearby beaches to enjoy.

    Treehouse in Small Enclave (Koolewong)
Our treehouse is located on top of a hill in the small enclave of Koolewong on the Central Coast. In front of the house is the amazing sweeping water views of Brisbane Waters with no sign of any house roofs at all, while the back of the house has beautiful bush views of the hill which you can enjoy while relaxing inside the house or having a shower. Interestingly, there is also a natural waterfall at the end of our garden for you to see if it rains heavily during your visit. As our house is surrounded by natural landscape, you may see turkeys and birds such as parrots and kookaburras during the day and possums at night, and of course our neighbour's friendly cats (please do not feed or let them inside the house). In terms of activities, you can go for a leisure walk, picnic, cycling, fishing, etc. along the water in Koolewong. Our house is tucked away from the main road and rail line, yet it only takes 10-15 minutes to walk to the water (or 3 minutes by car). Alternatively, you can simply enjoy a good book and/or a cup of tea/coffee on the front deck of the house or garden outside amid the tranquility and calmness of Brisbane Waters in front of you. We request that NO PARTIES are to be held in the house, and will appreciate you respecting our request. Our house is suitable for a couple with or without kids, or 2 couples / single(s). It has a queen bed in the main bedroom as well as a day bed in a smaller bedroom, which can be converted into a double bed if required. Both beds have comfortable good quality mattresses. The sofa in the lounge room is a sofa bed in case you need an extra bed for an adult or a child. In addition, our bathroom has just been fully renovated. Facilities in the house include: - Air conditioning. - Oil column heaters. - 37’ Full HD TV. - Blue ray / DVD player. - Coffee machine. - Kitchen utensils & cookware. - Washing machine / dryer. - Hair dryer. - All essentials (e.g. towels, shampoo, hand wash, dish liquid, etc except spices). We hope you have a pleasant stay! :)
Koolewong is named from an Aboriginal word meaning 'koalas there'.

  • The treehouse was very cosy with great views. It was less secluded than I had thought, with a neighbour in the floor below us. Regardless of that it was a wonder stay, close to neighbouring times and dinner locations.

    Sally2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • The place was a beautiful secluded little hideaway. It was very clean and beautifully styled. Melanie was very easy to deal with and the house was stocked with all the amenities we needed. I would definitely recommend to anyone after a nice, tranquil getaway.

  • Such a cute place with everything you need wonderful little touches throughout the studio and although it's apart of a house you still have a sense of privacy

    Matthew2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Bring lots of aeroguard if you plan on spending a lot of time in the beautiful garden like I did! Very private and resort like, touches of detail / design inside are lovely and stylish - creating that luxury. So close to beaches, shops etc. Had a great time.

    Maddie2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay, the home is styled beautifully and in a great location for Clareville beach and Avalon. Sheridan also gave us a late checkout which really made a difference. Would definitely recommend.

  • Sheridan is a great host! She is extremely efficient at being in contact prior and during our stay. The place is very cute & in a really nice area - close to coffee shops and a little shopping village. We highly recommend booking here :)

  • Had a great relaxing time at Sheridan’s place - loved the style of the unit & little touches (treats in the fridge) were lovely. The guidebooks were really helpful, both for the accommodation itself & the local area - even though we were only there for 2 nights, we felt at home and like locals from the moment we stepped through the door. Thanks Sheridan

    Ion2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about the studio was lovely, and Sheridan's thoughtful touches really elevated our experience.

As many face school closures and shift toward remote work, we are a work- and family-friendly place. She-oak House is a 4 bedrooms (3 bath), with a generous living room, a fully equipped kitchen, an amazing private deck with spa, outdoor table & BBQ. The spa sits deep in it's expansive decking creating an unforgettable experience; Relaxing, under the stars. Idyllic location in a bush setting with lots of privacy!
Provisions are provided if you would like to build your own campfire. Also, on-site there are 2 single kayaks as well as mountain bikes which you can use at your leisure to explore the property.
  • Beautiful spot not far from Sydney. Great space, tastefully put together with living room overlooking the valley, feels like your in the valley. The jacuzzi with a view across to the opposite hillside is so relaxing, particularly enjoyed an early morning soak with a beautiful mist in the valley and the sun rising up over the hill. Locky was very welcoming and a lovely guy, there for anything we might need and not at all intrusive. Highly recommended.

  • From the moment we arrived, we felt like we’d found some hidden secret and we’re the luckiest of travellers! Beautiful, large and stylish house with tons of space, towels, games to play, FOXTEL for evening movies, and the hot tub to just put the icing on the cake. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to escape city life and especially those who want to explore and delve into true Aussie bushland lifestyle. And the best hosts you could want for too! Wonderful. Thanks Kim and Lachie xxxx

  • Be prepared to be lost in the serenity and creative space of Jacqui's original indoor outdoor home. The warmth of the owner and the sharing of her wonderful home is refreshing, renewing and makes for a perfect escape for the rigours of city life. Embrace the magic of the isolation, the wildlife and flora and come away with the sense of wonder that is on Sydney's secret doorstep. We celebrated a significant milestone and have wonderful memories to reminisce in this hidden paradise. We were able to declutter our busy thoughts, rejoice in our selves and celebrate in this special place. You will be hard pressed to find a better host who truly lets you into what's best about Bar Point after getting to know your motivations to search for this secluded and magical retreat.

    Audrey2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • As everyone says, Jacqui is a consummate hostess with the mostest. She greeted us like old friends, drinks at the ready, and then enthused us with tales of tides, island life and great tips on how to make the best of our stay. Then she left us to enjoy our idyllic place in the clouds, which we most happily did! This is definitely a place to return to.

    Rachel2019-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Just what it looks like: a fabulous, unique cabin on the edge of the bush, 50m from the Hawkesbury. Wish I'd had longer.

    Luke2019-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • We decided to book an impromptu trip away from the hassles of the city and weren’t disappointed. Jacqui gave us a warm welcome and we had a fantastic time staying in the quirky Sheila Shack and checking out the beautiful surroundings and wildlife. Thoroughly recommended!

  • Jacqui’s little shack was absolutely lovely to stay in. My partner and I felt completely relaxed and loved being among all the nature. It was great fun to cook on the open fire. We grilled prawns and veggies. Highly recommend staying here!

  • One of the best Airbnb I have stayed at. If you like private unique accommodation don't hesitate to book. Very comfortable and Jacquie has added some luxurious touches. Bugs were not an issue at all and barely encountered a mozi. Will stay again soon.

  • This place was absolutely breathtaking! The photos don’t do justice. Ingridy was so welcoming from when I booked (very short notice) to meeting us at the door as soon as we got there. The place was clean, comfortable and homey, the view was spectacular, two days just weren’t enough! There were also so many activities around to keep you occupied! Already can’t wait to come back. Thanks Ingridy for the beautiful welcome and stay!

  • As I’ve travelled around a ton for both work and pleasure, I’ve had a lot of experience with air bnbs and the owners. I can easily say that Kimmy and Locky are the warmest, kindest people I’ve come across. And the Airbnb was just as welcoming. Everything I could have asked for, from ice for our drinks, cold water, spa at the perfect temperature... couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Can’t wait to come back! I haven’t even mentioned how picturesque it was.... wow!

The Bayside Treehouse will be one of your most treasured escapes this autumn. Ideally I would like to welcome a longer stay for those wishing to self isolate in a more natural environment. The beaches are close by and the bay is a wonderful place for walks and there are kayaks available. Contact me for more information and discussions on a price if you would like to stay for periods from 1-3 months.
You will enjoy an entire private apartment. This includes a huge open plan living room and kitchen, bedroom and bathroom including laundry. Bi-fold doors open to decks on all sides and the L-shape bathes the house in sunlight. In the cooler months the sofa surrounds a cosy gas fire inside and a wood fire on the deck. Two extra guests can also be accommodated. Please be sure you understand that your host, Frances lives in the apartment above with its own private access.
So many places to explore with easy to moderate walks in the Phegans Bay area. For the more adventurous there is rock climbing and water skiing. Umina and Pearl Beaches are close by and there are ferries to explore the waterways from Woy Woy to Palm Beach. The local precinct offers curious shopping and weekend markets as well as many fine food restaurants.
  • Pure perfection from the moment you arrive, little touches from breakfast to power boards near the bed, you won't be disappointed.

  • This property is just so amazing! We spent a week at Phegan's Bay and left feeling that our batteries had been totally recharged! This home is beautifully furnished and super comfortable with a high level of bedding and linen etc. From great wi-fi to a well stocked kitchen with breakfast supplies, we could not have asked for more. The wonderful deck with that spectacular view was where we spent much of our time with the odd glass of wine or two! Frances was also very helpful with suggestions for local activities and attractions. One of her dining suggestions, Sit O'clock ( a local Thai restaurant) was so good that we went twice during our stay. Yum! A wonderful property in a beautiful area. What more could you ask for?

    Vikki2020-01-09T00:00:00Z

There is a private balcony overlooking the river and downstairs another large shady deck with deck chairs where you can relax and hang out and a third small deck to the side which is like a little treehouse. If you want space to breathe and get back in touch with the rhythms of nature, this is the holiday you need. Its gentle pace, its light, its expansive views! So special, and the comforting thing is it's yours when you need it!
When I'm here at Dangar, I feel this place belongs to the birds, and I'm visiting their place. The birds own Dangar Island. There is a real community spirit among humans here on Dangar and a very open and inclusive culture. The first weekend I stayed on Dangar was just after Gay Mardi Gras, and on my Sunday morning walk I witnessed a bevvy of tutu-clad young fathers jogging with their sons in an event called the Dangar dash. It's like the human population are mimicking the "out there" dress sense of the island's avian inhabitants. Anyway, on the whole it's quiet, friendly and creative people who are attracted to island life. There's a bowling club for meals and events and drinks including Dangar open mike night and live gigs. There's also a Cafe seven days a week. It serves quite nice snacks including the famous Dangar Burger and good coffee. You can also buy provisions at the café. At the top of the island, there's a lovely bush walk with a stunning view and Aboriginal carvings and caves to explore.
  • We love this place. This was our second stay. It is really peaceful with everything you need for a great time. We spend most of the time on the pontoon. Caught a number of big bream fish and flathead, so dinner was sorted. When the tide is out the crabs are entertaining. The island is great, with a nice walk, lots of birds, cafe and bowling club. Barbara was great to communicate with and allowed us have a late checkout to extend our mini holiday.

    Rachel2020-03-10T00:00:00Z

  • My husband and I stayed for 4 nights on Dangar Island with our dog with no plans other than to read, walk and splash around w the dog. We did just that. A few lazy walks around the island, some water time for the dog, a kayak and a fish for my husband and plenty of reading and drinking wine on the balcony. It was such a great space, perfect for the dog as well as he could watch the boats from the safety of the balcony and laze in the sun as he loves to do. Throw in the odd game of Yahtzee (there’s a couple of board games to choose from) and you’ve got the perfect little getaway. Glenn & Barbara were truly wonderful hosts who were easily contactable which was great as the island had been hit with a wild storm prior to our arrival however reassured us the boatshed was a ok. They also generously offered us a late check out which sadly we couldn’t take advantage of. We would definitely stay at the boatshed again! John & Paz (& Tim)

  • Lovely spot for a couple of nights. Very small one room cabin but being right on the water was so lovely

  • We absolutely loved out stay. The best place to be during a summer heat wave. A short walk to the beach and not too far from the cafe and bowling club either which we both thoroughly enjoyed (if it's low tide as it was you can take a shortcut and avoid the big hill). The local cafe has some essential grocery items as well but best to bring most of what you need in from the mainland as there obviously isn't a lot. The boat house was a wonderfully relaxing place to spend a quiet weekend. The house is cosy and comfortable. It's a perfect getaway if you want to actually 'get away' but don't have time to travel far as it feels far from the hustle of Sydney. We will certainly be back! Thank you.

  • Nic's place is unique fronting on the Berowra Waters and backing onto a national park. It's quiet, restful and Nicky's choice of Australian vintage furniture and personal touches immediately puts you in a relaxed mood. Her kitchen and pantry is well equipped and very functional. Highly recommended for those who wish to unwind from City Stress without travelling a great distance. (Only 1 hour north of Sydney). Highly recommended.

  • We had an incredible weekend at Nic's home which was in the most stunning location... The view is absolutely breathtaking. It's a perfect home for 8 guests (including couples who are happy sharing a room) and there was so much space for everyone. Patrick who helped us during the stay was incredibly helpful and very quick to respond to any messages. We wish we could've stayed in this beautiful home for longer! Would definitely come back!

  • It was a great stay with amazing location. The break up areas were quite good with the outdoor deck a perfect place to have a relaxing time as a big group. The location right in front of the river was very relaxing and was a great spot for fishing if you are into it. Xavier was a very good host with prompt reply for any questions I had and has been very helpful. Certainly would recommend this and we are looking to book our next stay here soon.

We are a family run business that offers two unique ‘Tiny Homes'  for people to get away from a busy life style. This cabin is called Henrys hideaway. Collect fresh eggs from our chickens for breakfast, pick fresh herbs and vegetables from our garden to cook up for dinner, then enjoy a beautiful fire pit in our entertainment and BBQ area. Play some darts or sink some balls on the pool table. There are many bush trails to explore and we are pet friendly, both horses and dogs welcome here.
This is a new tiny home with all of the creature comforts. It is so adorable and romantic, listening to the birds and nature.
Canoeland's Orchards is 2 minutes away, pick your own fruit and vegetables. Enjoy the food and coffee at the cafe and visit the store to buy PA's Honey and many other items. Tractor rides available. Then take a drive to Wiseman's Ferry and visit the historical Wiseman's Hotel. Another great place to visit is the Stone House Cafe, only 15 min drive and has the one and only Canoelands beer.
  • Henry’s hideaway at liberty retreat was the perfect place to unwind and relax with our dogs. The property was so incredibly peaceful and the accommodation was cute and comfortable. The hosts met us on check in to make sure we were comfortable. There were lots of thoughtful touches for both our furry companions and us. I would recommend staying here.

  • Five star hosts and a cute cabin nestled in the mountains. This is a great place to relax, do some bush walking, feed farm animals, enjoy farm fresh eggs. The hosts will also pamper you with complimentary wine and chocolates on arrival. There are two cabins to choose from. There’s a common area with a pool table, dart board and barbecue. This is covered so it is enjoyable even when it’s raining.

  • Susan was incredibly hospitable and friendly, showing us walking paths and letting us spend some time with the animals. It's a beautiful property that's incredibly peaceful and equipment with everything you need for a weekend away. The little touches of chocolate and wine were greatly appreciated. We will definitely be back soon!

  • Fantastic little place (even better in the rain!), shame we couldn't stay for two nights!!

    Tim2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay and will definitely be back! The little touches like wine & chocolates on arrival, as well as the bed, food/water bowls and special treats for our dog made us feel so welcome. The Tiny Home itself is beautiful, and we loved the bush walks and animals. Thank you so much for making our mini getaway extra special xx

  • We had the best stay at this airbnb. Michele was a lovely host, who welcomed us on arrival and showed us the ins and outs of the property. The thoughtful touches of local honey and jams, as well as wine and chocolate, were appreciated. We brought out puppy and she was just as welcomed as us humans, with food bowls and a bed inside the tiny home, as well as treats. It was so nice for her to be able to explore the property with us, including the bush trails. Our 5yo and 10yo loved meeting the animals and asked to feed the chickens a lot - hopefully they didn't put on too much weight in our presence, but they did provide us delicious eggs for breakfast on both mornings! The girls also loved picking veggies and herbs from the garden on both nights to add to our dinners. It was the perfect little getaway and not too far from Wisemans Ferry for us to head over for a swim on a hot day. Other than that, we didn't leave the property as we had everything we needed, and even a stormy afternoon was enjoyed from the undercover entertainment area where we could watching the rain coming down around us while staying dry and playing games. We have already recommended this airbnb to families we know and would visit again!

  • What a lovely surprise Michele’s property is. So glad we came across it and it was available at such short notice. Michele is a perfect host, went above and beyond, met us at the gate on arrival, explained everything in detail added welcoming touches like a bottle of wine and chocolates and local honey. The cabin is very comfortable and environmentally friendly, loved the outdoor entertaining areas, we used the pool table and dart board and BBQ, lazed in the hammock and had our morning coffee on the outdoor lounge overlooking the bush view. Met the local bush turkey and goanna, so refreshing to get back to nature. We brought our border collie pup and he was spoilt with a bed, feeding bowls and special healthy dog bikkies he loved. The fridge is equipped with milk, juice and water, although it’s small, it is cosy and everything you need is there. We loved the facilities and getting to know the horses Romeo and Nala as well as the alpacas. Our pup particularly loved Romeo and they formed a bond in the 2 days we were there. Loved the experience of collecting freshly laid eggs from the chook pen and cooking them up for breakfast. We had the most amazing time and loved it all. Thank you so much...Margi & Andrew & Beau
