We renovated the 2 story earthenware built in the Edo period and made it a guesthouse. It is not spacious, but there is a kitchen with an IH cooking heater on the ground floor while leaving an earthenware wall or a thick beam.Air conditioner and oil heater are also equipped for a comfortable stay. You can experience the sound insulation unique to the earthen warehouse, the coolness of summer, and the warmth of winter. I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto This house used to be one big guest house, but since this Covid19, I have stopped running the guest house and I started to live here with my wife and 2 kids. However I didn't want to quit so I left the good part. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the concept, The slope in front of the house is hard. There is stairs to go up, check online map before you book.

Just 5 minutes by walk from subway Imadegawa station. You can stay like you live in Kyoto. We have wooden bath with small garden view. There are wooden deck besides living space, you will have relaxing time at the wooden deck with Japanese traditional style garden "Karesansui "garden view. This house is barrier free. There are distance between Tatami room and wood floor but we can prepare bed at wood floor so I think it is no problem. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Reikaku Yasaka was a building in ruins with the floor tilted by at least 30cm when we discovered this hidden jewel. The restoration was particularly difficult due to the state it was in but our craftsman’s determination to bring this Machiya back to its formal glory paid off for Reikaku Yasaka. The result is Japanese craftsmanship at its best and we are very proud to be able to share the result with the rest of the world. Check our other house as an alternate option @ Reikaku Kiyomizu-Gojo
