Fish Market
“From their website: The Saloon is rustic and outdoor, so bring your coat, and come experience oysters in the elements. In the winter you can watch storms blow down the canal and listen to sea lions bark in the estuary. In the summer, the saloon offers an excellent view of the tide rolling off the oyster beds. We also have live music from 1 to 4 on most weekends (and some Mondays) during the summer. Distance From the cabin: 13 minutes south ”

“This is a must do if you have the time. Visit Seattle either with your car or on foot (my favorite for around $10 RT). One hour ferry ride in comfort and with awesome views. Sit with a local commuter and let them tell you some history of the area. Let's you off in the historic section of Seattle where you can pick up an Uber and off you go. Mariners and Seahawk stadiums are a short ride away with return ferry trips going into the late hours. Do it!!”

Mountain
“From the north viewpoint you’ll take in the Hood Canal Bridge, Mount Baker and a swath of the Cascades extending into British Columbia. Turn left and enjoy the sweep of the north end of the eastern Olympics – Constance, Warrior, Welch Peaks and Townsend. The south viewpoint gives you the long view down the Hood Canal, to Mounts Rainier and St. Helens and the comparatively puny man-made scenery of the Seattle and Tacoma skylines. Winter hikers might need snowshoes or microspikes. Some will trudge up totting cross country skis and double pole their way down the snow covered road.”

“Not to be missed. Press your nose against the display case as you try to decide what you can't live without. Renowned bakery with a line out the door. If there is a line, the service is swift, so you shouldn't have to wait too long.”
