  • We had an amazing stay at Laura’s cottage, we literally felt like home ! Everything was perfect and we hope to come back very soon !

    Anca2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Delightful cottage in a rural and relaxing location. The cosy cottage is very well equipped, Laura has thought of everything. The spotless hot tub was fantastic and had phenomenal views over the Speyside countryside.

    Duncan2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Laura’s cottage was a lovely home away from home. The little extras that were provided (homemade bread, bottle of Prosecco, and beers) were a fantastic surprise and made our stay that much more special. We absolutely adored sitting by the wood fire stove and enjoying the hot tub each night. The cottage was clean and cozy and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

  • Fantastic, peacefull and romantic place. Great hospitality!

    Evka2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We went to stay at Laura’s gorgeous romantic little cottage for a second time - so homely with all the amenities and extras we could want. The hot tub is amazing with great views and plenty of good walks nearby. We’ve been discussing a third visit already!

    Susannah2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I booked this property for a cosy weekend away and we were delighted with our time there. The hospitality on arrival was brilliant, from the prosecco, to the fresh bread and all the local tips. The facilities were great and the location and hot tub are exactly what we were looking for. We both couldn't recommend this enough and would definitely coming back in the future!

    Stephen2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Superb accommodation, host, amenities etc etc, couldn’t ask for more! We couldn’t believe all the little extras, it really made our stay extra special. We have a 10 month old baby and Laura provided everything we could possibly need. It made life that little bit more stress free! The highlight of the trip was the hot tub though, incredible. Despite the minus temperatures and howling winds outside, the covered hot tub was just glorious after a days adventuring in the beautiful surroundings. First class. Thank you Laura!

    Nyall2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really lovely relaxing few days at this little gem of a cottage. So cozy and lots of added thoughtful surprises! The bed was so comfy and we loved the hot tub. Thanks so much Laura!

Breakfast in the morning (porridge for me) but was offered cooked/continental coffee, tea etc. Very comfortable stay and a nice guy to have a chat to. 10/10

  • Nice B&B, we had a small room that was ok for two, after a week in twin rooms as work colleagues, more space would have been great- but not their fault. Bathroom shared but clean and no queues. Great hosts who provided good travel tips, breakfast was excellent as well. Recommended!

Gate Cottage has been refurbished and furnished recently to provide a bright, compact holiday venue with amazing views of the surrounding hills and the Bogie valley (known as Strathbogie). Our mile of private access road begins at the A96 (main road from Aberdeen/Inverness route) at Huntly, so is ideally placed for those seeking a central location for castle or whisky trails; a short trip to visit either the coastal area or Cairngorm National Park; or just enjoying a relaxing break.
The farm of Cocklarachy sits on the Bahill overlooking Huntly. It is a family-run working farm with pure Limousin and cross-bred cattle-breeding and -fattening as the main enterprises. Both the Farmhouse and Gate Cottage are supplied with hot water and central heating by our biomass boiler - available 24/7 at no extra cost.
Huntly is a small market town in the beautiful Aberdeenshire countryside. An information booklet in the cottage provides details of the many activities available locally: sites to see; sporting pursuits for all tastes and ages; places to eat; and local churches.
  • The cottage is less than 5 mins from Huntly and is a great base for travelling around the highlands. The views are lovely and the cottage itself is very cosy and clean. The wood burner was a lovely bonus and kept us warm in the chilly evenings. Would definitely recommend staying here

    Sarah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage just outside Huntly with great views across the town and the Clashmach. Would recommend staying here if in the Huntly area.

  • We had a really enjoyable couple of nights in Huntly. The arrangements and directions to the the property where very good.Cottage very clean and tidy and only a 5 min drive to Huntly. The weather changed for the worse when we where their and it was really good to have the central heating via the biomass boiler to hand. If we are in the area again would hopefully be able to stay again.

Heide is a lovely room with one double bed and an amazing wardrobe! Kirkton House is a listed 10 bedroom Manse, set in mature walled gardens & woodland with stunning views to open countryside in the peaceful hamlet of Cairnie, Huntly just off A96. A perfect location to explore the Scottish Highlands with easy access to wonderful beaches and the UK's largest National Park The Cairngorms. We are currently transforming Kirkton House into a Health and Wellbeing Retreat.
Category B Listed building on the edge of the Forest with 8.5 acres of woodlands, ponds and river. Lots of birds, deer, rabbits, pheasants and more, great for wildlife enthusiasts. We have volunteers staying with us some of the time helping with the garden and work around the house and have 5 Air BnB rooms available in total. Rooms are listed as Kirkton House (Eala room) with one double bed & one single bed, Kirkton House (Eilid room) with one double and 2 single beds and Kirkton House (Iolair room) with one double and one single bed and own private sink. We offer a self-serve breakfast with tea and coffee, cereals, milk, toast and jams in our large kitchen until 10am.
Amazing forest with lots of walks and cycle paths close to the house. We are not far from the A96 so accessible by public transport but once you get to Kirkton House you will feel that you are miles from anywhere, we are right next to the no longer used St Mary's Church which is also the site of an original Norman Church and still has the old stonework in the Church Grounds.
  • What a fantastic place to stay. A friend and I stayed for two nights as we were through for a wedding. The location is incredible with beautiful views allowing you to feel the benefits of being tucked away whilst being so close to Huntly for any amenities. Beth and Mike were so lovely and accommodating and provided us with local tips such as places to eat and booking taxis, which proved very helpful. The house itself is beautiful with great facilities. As others have mentioned in their reviews, the shower is indeed amazing! Very powerful! They provide all other facilities that you could ever need and had the perfect balance of being available and providing help when needed but also just leaving you to it to enjoy your stay. We couldn’t recommend this highly enough! Thank you again! ☺️

  • Lovely place, stayed the night of a friends wedding. Amazing breakfast too

    Kelly2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic value and beautiful setting. It was great to have a whole kitchen to use, and the entire home was gorgeous. There’s a lovely little path just off the car park and farm animals over the fence, also plenty of options for food nearby if you don’t want to cook.

    Randall2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beth was there to welcome us into this huge and charming house. The room was spacious and quiet. The shower is by far the best one in the UK :). Would have loved to stay longer to walk in the gardens and have a tea with the ducks and chickens. Would recommend to anyone.

This 1960s touring caravan was hoisted into the tree as a location for the film "Two years at sea". There is a double bed and a single, but 3 people makes it a bit crowded, so i have listed it as '2 people'. No 'mains' electricity. A good view!!
The caravan had a full life when it was on the road, so the interior could be truthfully described as 'shabby'. At present, we ask you to bring your own sleeping bag (or sheets)... there isn't mains electricity here to run a washing-machine, so it's just not practical to provide fresh sheets for every new guest. So bring a sleeping bag......there are extra quilts and blankets in case it's an extra-cold night, or if your sleeping-bag is a cheap thin one. The beds are just about 6 feet 3 inches long, so if you are very tall, you might have to sleep with your knees bent. There is no mains electricity, but it's possible to be comfortable. There are paraffin lamps, plus headtorches are available that are good enough for reading. There is the original gas cooker, with one hotplate and a grill. There is no 'background' heating, you don't need it in the summer, and in the winter i assume that you will be doing some walking etc during the day so your circulation will be working well when you come in; you get warm as soon as you are standing at the gas-cooker heating your supper; and you won't be lounging around for hours in the evening. It's a 1960s touring caravan so obviously there is no shower or bath ... I recommend having an allover wash the 'japanese' way, with two kettlefuls of water and two facecloths, one for soaping and one for rinsing yourself. (Or use the showers at the swimming pool in huntly) There is no internet, though EE mobile broadband works ok for texts and simple emails without much attachments. Because the email is a bit dodgy, you're better to use airbnb's "InstantBooking" if you're booking at short notice, rather than their "Request accommodation" system. Of course, if you have a question about anything that isn't clear in the description, then you're welcome to phone or text or email. Pubs and cafes in Huntly(15 miles north) or Dufftown(15miles west) have wi-fi. There are no street-lights within 5 miles. I recommend arriving during daylight if possible, so you are settled-in before it's dark. The advantage is that you can see the stars (and occasionally the Northern Lights) if the sky is clear
The treehouse is immediately behind my own cottage and sheds which are used for a (very) small-scale horticulture business. In the middle of the 30,000acre Clashindarroch Forest. !,000 feet above sealevel. There is one other house about 100 yards away, but it is usually only lived-in at holiday times and some weekends. Apart from that, it is 2 miles to the next lived-in house. The nearest village is Rhynie, 6 miles away. There is one shop there, and some interesting 'Pictish' carved stones if you're interested in historical stuff. The nearest bigger towns are Huntly to the North(15 miles) or Dufftown to the West (17 miles) ..............5 miles away is Windyfield Bothy, Rhynie, it's also on Airbnb and you can walk there on old roads that don't usually have any traffic, possibly an occasional tractor...... so it might be possible to do a wee walking tour, stay here a night or two, then walk to there to stay another night or two. There is a map at the bottom of this page, after the reviews. You can't see anything on it till you zoom-out by clicking on the wee 'minus' sign. The way the forestry roads are marked on this map AREN'T accurate, so you're better to rely on my written directions. But if you zoom out far enough, you see some interesting places that i think are worth a visit.
  • Jake’s place is a delightful getaway in the forest in a unique caravan treehouse. The perfect place to be in nature in a great setting, even better than the photos!

    Jemma2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • what an excellent space! my friend and I were super impressed. We were in through the tail end of Storm Dennis and enjoyed some of the snow that followed. Even with the high winds the Caravan in very stable. The snow made it a little cold to wake up to but nothing that a quick cuppa didnt sort out. We had a great time, thanks Jake

    Stuart2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! A truly unique space. My 14 year old and I had a Scottish road trip together over half term and this place was a massive part of our adventure! From finding it, to cooking in it, to sleeping in it - an experience we’ll never forget! Thank you for the experience and memories.

    Joanne2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • I will definitely be staying here again. The epitome of alternative accommodation can be found 12' up a tree a few miles outside of rhynie. What the caravan lacks in heating it makes up in character. Little notes, drawings and quirks left from previous guests makes it feel immediately like a home. The candles provide ample light and the boardgames don't go amiss! Even in the snow and wind of a storm the caravan held its own up in the trees, just remember to pack a cosy blanket! although there is plenty at hand. The bed is definitely comfortable for 2, and snuggling helps with heating! Jake was an amazing host that will definitely see me again!

    Zoe2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jakes place was truly unique! My gf and I went in the middle of winter so was quite cold, but there were plenty of blankets to keep us warm at night. Regret not staying longer and getting to know jake a bit better, really interesting character and very welcoming. We were even late arriving, in the snow and in the dark, managed to get the car stuck and jake came out and helped us move it! Will definitely be back

    Edward2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Third trip to stay in Jake's caravan in a tree! Had a great stay as usual; discovered a lovely walk to the wind turbines from the track at the rear of the house. Check Jake's map in the treehouse. Boganloch is much more than just a place to kip, it's a wonderful playground and place to adventure.

    Elliot2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend a stay at jakes tree house, it’s a wonderful experience and a chance to try out something new! Jake is very welcoming and nothing you could ask of him would be too much trouble. There is also the vast countryside to explore and would be worth spending a few nights and days to really benefit from the whole place aswell as the host. Looking forward to a return stay.

    David2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely peaceful place to stay - immaculately clean and tidy and uncluttered, whilst cosy and homely. The bedrooms are a good size and the kitchen/dining area is a pleasure to use and very well equipped. Pam was great at sending us all the information we needed: clear directions and entry instructions that all worked smoothly. There were only two of us staying, but four people could stay here very comfortably, and the price seemed very good value for all the space and facilities we had.

    John2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Pam’s place is outstanding. Luxurious finishes and furnishings. You would need a car to get to Pam’s place and the GPS isn’t reliable but with Pam’s excellent directions, we easily found it. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a stylish rural retreat. The nearest town is only five minutes drive away.

  • Great hospitality in a wonderful rural location in a delightful property. The Factor's House is a very comfortable place, and I could not have been made more welcome. There is a private track up to the house, and a lovely large garden, with fields and woodland surrounding the house. A very special place to stay.

  • Leon and Mary are kind and helpful hosts - as hands off or on as you’d want. We felt well looked after but also very independent. It’s a lovely location really peaceful but an easy drive to all Moray, Aberdeenshire and the Cairngorms. The location is off the beaten path but only just - less than 5 minutes from an A road but no noise. The house is comfortable and very well equipped for self catering.

Wake up to fabulous 360 degree views of rural idyll. Whilst relaxing in our stunning shepherds hut. A cosy setting for breakfast watching those ducks on the dam and the sun rise down the valley. Or enjoy the dramatic sunsets over the Tap O'Noth, a Pictish fortified settlement. Travel around "Castle and Distillery Country" from this central location. We are happy to show our guests around the farm, explain our farming system and meet the alpacas. Yes we do have loos and a shower block.

  • Usually when it comes to 5 star reviews the intention is to say "it was good", but this would be a definite understatement in this instance. Both me and my partner had an absolutely wonderful, 5 star time here! The scenery was gorgeous, the home was cozy and warm, and everything was provided for us with excellent communication and friendliness. If you're not sure about what to do with your time, Typhaena gave us a super helpful rundown of how we could get the most of our time there; if you're a walking adventurer or a local landmark hunter, she clearly knows the area like the back of her hand. We'll both be recommending here to many people we know, and if you're reading this I hope you go for it. Waking up to pigs out one window, ducks out the other, and a lovely green vista makes a great getaway - especially if you can benefit from getting out of the city for a few days :D

  • The shepherd's hut space is small but perfectly formed with a panorama packed with 360 degrees of interest. Despite being surrounded by life both wild and domestic it was quiet and peaceful.

  • Our stay at Tryphaena's farm was wonderful. Peaceful location with outstanding views in a lovely and very comfortable converted shepherd's hut. The farm is definitely the highlight, especially if you like animals (the alpacas!!). Tryphaena was the perfect hostess, providing lots of local tips, stories about farm life, and even some of her vegetables. Airbnb at its best!

  • A beautiful property, and so clean. It has everything you could need. Nice powerful shower with cosy under floor heating. There was a 90mph storm blowing outside and we could barely hear it from inside the property. Just an all round great Airbnb.

  • Cottage was lovely, it is very modern and we could tell a lot of work was put into it. Was exactly what we were looking for would definitely recommend to any couples wanting to stay in and around Keith and Huntly

    Grant2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay. The places was was amazing (we loved the heated floors in the bathroom) and Dianne was very friendly. If you’re looking for a nice country getaway in Scotland Dianne’s place should be top of the list.

  • We really recommend The Wee Hoose to everyone who wants to exploring around Cairngorms national park!! It’s a really lovely home with everything you need!! We loved the surrounding, we actually lived in a working farm!!! How amazing is that!! Communication was great from start to finish and Dianne even came out to fetch us as we accidentally went to one of their neighbours. We were staying over Christmas and Dianne got The Wee Hoose decorated with Christmas tree, lights, Christmassy curtains, a pot of Poinsettia and some Christmas chocolates!! It was so Christmassy even we were away from home. There are plenty of choice of breakfast, porridge, cereal, bread with jams & butter and juice or you can cook your breakfast with a fully equipped kitchen! Thank you Dianne & James for a lovely stay, we will definitely come back in the future if we come back to the area. X

    Mathew2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Wee Hoose is a fantastic little lodge which is always immaculately clean and has everything you’ll need for your stay. This was our second visit and we’ll no doubt be visiting again.

  • Best place to stay in the area. Modern, very clean & cosy 2 bedroom cottage with fast wireless internet & three smart TVs. All mod cons. The beds were super comfortable, and rooms were much larger than expected, especially the lounge area, which wasn't pictured. The host was great and had even arranged a cot and high chair for our baby which was much appreciated.

  • Had a lovely stay over new year. Great place to stay and a great host.

    Fraser2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic house! Super clean, everything you could possibly need and Gale is a great host. Lovely scenery and feels remote, but you’re not too far from shops & supermarkets either. Just what we needed post-Christmas, a wind-down to get us ready for the new year. We will certainly be back in the future! Thank you Gale!

    Kelly2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Gale was a super host for me and my family and made us feel welcome from check in to check out.

    Harry2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic beautiful place with a warm welcome. Only a short distance from the local village. Everything that you could need was provided. Perfect for a quiet holiday away from the hustle and bustle. Would highly recommend.

    Anthony2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Gale’s house was a gem. The house was sparkling clean, very spacious and furnished beautifully. The kitchen was well-equipped and had all the necessary tools to cook our own meals, with an additional dining room (pleasant touch of various board games). The rooms were very spacious, with big closets and comfortable beds. The house’s surrounding areas provided an additional space for the kids to play and explore around. The house is located in a secluded farm, which allowed us to enjoy the undisturbed beauty of Scottish landscape. Most importantly, Gale was an excellent host by all means. She was very responsive, and did her best to meet our various requests. Her husband was very friendly, taking the time to show us around their farm.

    Mohamed2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Gale is so gracious, friendly and a joy. She is a kind and wonderful host and the house and amenities are outstanding. They are the best of any place we've stayed. We loved the house

    Collyn2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovers of the countryside and life on the farm do not hesitate! Roualeyn cottage is a beautiful house in the middle of the fields less than 20 min drive from the north coast of Scotland, 1 hour from Aberdeen you will have plenty to do between the multiple castles of the Grampians and the valley of Dee, the whiskey trail (from Keith at 15 min), the Cairgorns Park and of course the coast and its many very typical fishing ports! The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable the town of Huntly with all amenities is 15 minutes east by car, Gale and Michael the owners are very hospitable and kind. Ideal for a family.

  • This house is perfect! It has everything you could ever think of for a great stay! The location is outstanding, set in the hillside with lovely walks on your doorstep. You can even go wild cat spotting, which our kids loved! Jane was on hand at all times, communication was great and easy, everything you could want in a host! Thank you for letting us stay!

    Alison2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jane's house was perfect for our group. The location is ideal - only 10 minutes from Huntly which has a big Asda and Tesco, but also the house itself has stunning views from it and is private enough (located at the end of a road) which means you have the best of both worlds. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending this house to any of our friends and family. The main highlights: very well stocked house with copious amounts of crockery and utensils for cooking; lovely open plan living room and dining room area; the wood burner; very comfy beds; and very clean.

    Martin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cottage , so peaceful and with lovely outlook. We enjoyed watching the birds especially the little robin who visited daily. Jane made us most welcome to her home and couldn’t have been more helpful with information about the local attractions etc. We were a family group of three generations and the house suited us perfectly with a lovely welcome with cake and flowers etc which we were really delighted with. Highly recommend.

    Gillian2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Keepers Cottage was perfect for our family of 12, providing us with everything we needed to relax and feast. Jane provided a lovely welcome pack which we all enjoyed. So lovely to come to a house with toys for children of all ages, really helped as the weather was temperamental. Beautiful location and views to soak up. Highly recommend the house and Jane’s communication.

    Clarissa2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Jane’s house is the perfect getaway house! It was beautiful, comfortable, clean, and had everything we could need or want. We particularly enjoyed the wood stove in the evenings. Would very highly recommend!

  • What a beautiful house! And an amazing setting - we loved the open views from the living room and enjoyed relaxing in front of the fire. The house was spotless and had some lovely touches. The kitchen is really well equipped. Jane was so welcoming and friendly and we only wish we could have stayed longer. There is so much to see and do nearby but to be honest, we didn't want to leave the house as it was so lovely. So peaceful. We will certainly be back!

Rhynie is a pretty little village in Aberdeenshire and is the perfect centre for exploring the many sites and activities in the surrounding area. The Old Potting Shed is set in a secluded private garden with BBQ area, bicycle storage, multi-fuel stove, central heating and is warm and cosy and bright. Should you arrive late or are caught short, we have left some provisions in the cupboard to see you through to the next day. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets at present. We do have a very friendly Collie dog (Archie) and as yet, he has freedom of the garden until we get round to fencing it off so please make sure any gates are closed behind you. If we could request that you don't feed him as he has a 'sensitive tummy'!
Rhynie is located in rural Aberdeenshire, a picturesque and hidden gem in Scotlands north east. The nearby hill of Tap O' Noth provides a stunning backdrop to Rhynie and the Old Garden Shed. Rhynie is in the heart of historic Pictish Scotland with the largest known Pictish settlement on the nearby hill of Tap 'O Noth which is also the largest Iron Age hill fort in Scotland. Rhynie is also home to several Pictish symbol and standing stones and a rich history throughout the ages. Deveron cottage at Drumdelgie has been fully renovated and furnished, no expense has been spared with special attention to luxury beds with Egyptian cotton linen. You will find a welcome pack on arrival filled with tea, coffee etc. We are in a peaceful setting, up in the hills surround by 700 acres of woodland over looking Huntly which is only a 5 minute car journey away. Aberdeen is only 50 minutes and Elgin 45. Anyone and everyone is welcome from all walks of life, the more the merrier.
Drumdelgie is situated above the river Deveron with stunning views over the surrounding countryside. Drumdelgie is just 3 miles from the traditional market town of Huntly right in the heart of the beautiful Aberdeenshire countryside. We are also only 4 miles from Aswanley wedding and events centre. Drumdelgie was formerly the biggest farm in Aberdeenshire and one of the largest in Scotland and working life on the farm in the 19th century is described in a very well-known bothy ballad known as Drumdelgie, but called "The Hash O'Drumdelgie". This cottage has wheelchair access in mind, so larger hallway and doorways and no stairs. Each cottage is fully equipped and no expense has been spared with special attention to luxury beds with Egyptian bed linen. You will find a huge Super king bed and king bed with top of the range coil sprung memory foam mattress, topped off with an extra thick layer of cosy mattress topper and then finally finished off with Egyptian cotton linen. You also have your own dedicated WiFi, 42" flat screen TV with full Sky TV (Sports and Movies), music system, washing machine, dishwasher and much more. There is walnut flooring throughout and electric power showers to soak under.
Just 5 minutes by car in the town of Huntly you will find 6 takeaways, ranging from fish and chips to Indian. There are two restaurants for evening dinning and so many cafe's that I can not count them. Deans biscuits serve an amazing breakfast and lunch and also open for tours. There are two supermarkets. Vets, Doctors and A&E. For home cooking it's must to go to the local award winning butchers and you will find lots of bakers. One of my favourite places if you have children, is to drive down to the old Huntly castle. The setting is beautiful with the river Deveron flowing by, lots of play parks for the children and in warmer weather bbq and picnic areas by the river. The falconry Centre is right next door to us and is open from April to October. We are surrounded by whiskey distillery's so let us know if you need advise.

  • Judy is a welcoming and helpful host and her home is beautiful, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our time here very much. The bedroom is quite large and the use of the guest lounge was much appreciated, with fast WiFi. Breakfast every morning was an additional treat! We highly recommend a stay here!

  • Great host, we had a great time at Judy. We loved the British charm of the interior of the house and will keep a tasty memory of the breakfast!

    Roselyne2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • I would wholeheartedly recommend staying at Judy’s beautiful home. Judy was welcoming, caring, thoughtful & helpful. Nothing was too much trouble & she went above & beyond to assist me, in many ways. The decor of the whole house was beautiful & had a lovely ambience. Thoughtful touches were many, e.g a fresh flower, chocolates, bottled water & tissues by the bedside. The breakfast spread in the gorgeous dining room was mouthwatering. Judy was easy to talk to & genuine & it felt like she was a friend, I’d known a long time. Next time I’m in the area I’ll be booking to stay in, Judy’s historic home. Who needs hotels! Thank you, Judy.💐🌞👏😎🌈

  • Had a lovely stay at Tim's place. Everything was fantastic. Only a few things although these may vary to different people Every pillow in the bedrooms where duck feather and I had to buy new pillows from the shop, again personal preference. The WiFi provided didn't work the first day, Tim was really fast to sort it out. We arrived home the second day and Tim had replaced the WiFi with a new one which worked fine. However there was only 1GB of data and this was gone within the hour. We was unable to use netflix or any other streaming services through the WiFi. The WiFi once ran out wanted to charge us £20 for 10gb. We basically had no use of WiFi since the 2nd day. It's not the end of the world and I would 100% recommend this place to everybody. Its a stones throw from the local boozer and shops. Thank you!

It was no problem for her that we were leaving the next day at 4 p.m. We were allowed to use her kitchen at any time. In short, if you are looking for a bed and breakfast near Huntly, then this is a really good choice.

  • We had a great weekend stay here - so comfortable and warm, and kind and generous hosts who were really responsive and very keen to make sure we had everything we needed. We even got to order which colour of bread we preferred! We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

    Claire2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • From the time we made our booking to the time we checked out, Laura was very responsive to requests and questions. The place was in immaculate condition, very clean, and close to everything (groceries, cafe, shops, walking trails, the library, bank machine). We took the train from Edinburgh and thoroughly enjoyed the 20-minute walk from the train station (though a taxi is available from the station and, if we'd travelled by car, there was space to park a car at the house). The beds were very comfortable and the location quiet. I highly recommend Laura and Lesley's place, and will be suggesting it to friends.

A large traditional house set within a beautiful walled garden. Nestled in rolling countryside, with stunning views, it's a wonderful place to enjoy a peaceful retreat or a family holiday. It has a variety of different-sized rooms, with traditional decor, toys for kids and open fireplaces. The Manse is the perfect base from which to explore sandy beaches of the Northeast Scottish coastline, drive inland towards the Caingorm Mountains, or follow the whisky and castle trails of Aberdeenshire.
The Old Manse is a historic, grade II listed house set within 3 acres of beautiful walled gardens with wonderful views of the hills. It was originally built as the residence of the Minister of the Kirk of Forgue, a hamlet of a few hundred residents 7 miles drive from Huntly, the nearest market town. It lies close to the River Deveron, which is famous for its trout fishing, and the Gordon Estate which offers beautiful hillside walks and pheasant/grouse shooting. The area is famous for its excellent food, particularly local meat and fish. A house of character The house has been in our family since the 1960s. It has traditional furniture and decor. The interior is full of character as well as being comfortable and easy to live in. Two large reception rooms have open fires and are the perfect place to relax and socialise. The main reception room is very large and has a grand piano, while the smaller reception room has an elegant dining table and chairs. A library/study is packed with fascinating books including local history and novels. There is a large dolls house and plenty of board games and lego. A grand staircase leads upstairs to four very spacious bedrooms each with a different character, and a fifth single room enjoying a spectacular view towards the mountains. A traditional farmhouse kitchen is the social heart of the house. With a gas-fired aga and large table, families and friends can gather here to enjoy a meal after a day outside. The Manse enjoys its own supply of spring water, plentiful supply of logs for the fire, as well as central heating in most of the rooms. The house has wi-fi, a TV with plentiful DVDs, Bose sound system and a huge supply of classical CDs. Well behaved pets will be considered. The Garden A private gateway leads into a drive up to the house where there is parking for at least four cars. A large, secluded garden entirely surrounds the house, planted with beautiful, mature trees, wide borders of perennials and lawns. Children will be amused for hours with outdoor activities including a swing, croquet and games, or simply playing hide and seek.
A perfect base for exploring The Manse is the perfect base from which to explore long sandy beaches of the Northeast Scottish coastline, drive inland towards the Caingorm Mountains, or follow the whisky and castle trails of Aberdeenshire. There are plenty of local walks in the hills and mountain bike trails. We will provide information about good places to visit for families and guests with an interest in heritage and gardens. This area of Aberdeenshire boasts many of the best castles and grand houses in Scotland. Of particular interest is Craigievar Castle, Haddo House and Fyvie Castle. Within a 40 minute drive you can also access the Lecht and Aviemore Ski Resorts. Experience the Braemar Highland Games in September, just 50 mins drive away. Or visit the world famous Lonach Highland Gathering, in August just 30 mins by car. If you enjoy fishing, a permit can be obtained for fishing on the River Deveron, which is a few minutes drive from the Manse. The nearest town, Huntly, is known as a centre for regional food. Enjoy award-winning haggis and fresh meat from Forbes Raeburn, a visit to Dean's shortbread factory and the farmers market on the first Saturday of the month in the town square. Huntly also has supermarkets, small gift shops, a whisky centre, swimming pool, dry ski course, and golf course - not to mention its own historic castle. Heading towards the coast, in 20 minutes you can reach the Scottish Dolphin Centre, The Macduff Aquarium, and the long sandy beaches of Cullen or Sandend.
  • The Manse has left a lasting impression on us. A beautifully historic house and immaculate gardens. The house has a lovely warm feel throughout and our children particularly enjoyed a treasure hunt in the house and gardens. Simply, we were very sad to leave. The location of the house is perfect for distillery’s, close to Huntly and has stunning views. We were lucky to find this place and would recommend it to anyone.

Bonnie View it is a lovely space with wood burner and central heating for those cosy winter nights in, fully fitted kitchen and bathroom, two spacious bedrooms all on one level. The cottage sleeps four comfortably and has a balcony with a wonderful view and ample parking. Towels linen and bedding is all included along with plenty of wood for the fire. Its an ideal base for exploring the area or for just chilling out and getting away from it all.
We are a drive away from an array of picturesque fishing villages like Banff, Portsoy, Cullen, a bit further and you can explore the cities of Aberdeen and Inverness. We are on the Castle and Whiskey Distillery Trails For walkers we have some of the most spectacular scenery and plenty of trails to explore. We are a drive away from various Golf courses, Sandend Beach is perfect for surfers, and there is even a skiing centre in the Cabrach Region. But most importantly Portsoy is home to the best (in our opinion) Ice cream parlour and Fish and chip shop both owned by the same family the ice cream is award winning, its worth a visit!

Hi, I am Elizabeth and my family and I host this lovely Farm Chalet situated in scenic countryside. I’m retired and enjoy walking the dogs & gardening as well as meeting new visitors to the area. Our self-catering chalet is on the family working farm, in scenic countryside, 3 miles from the town of Keith. Up to 2 well behaved dogs welcome, provided they are kept under control and don’t chew.

Ground floor: Open plan living/dining/modern kitchen, with large wooden dining table. Electric central heating. TV. 1 enclosed bedroom with twin single beds and large wardrobe. Modern Bathroom with walk in corner shower, sink, mirror, WC & electric heater. No shaver socket. Upper bedroom: accessed via steep ramsay step ladder. Twin single beds, scenic views Guest access The entire accommodation and garden is yours to enjoy. We prefer the gates are kept closed as it prevents any stray sheep/cattle wandering in. There are 6 steep steps to access the chalet. The kitchen – fully equipped with dishes, cutlery, utensils, pots, pans, cafetiere etc. Kettle, toaster, microwave, electric cooker, hob, fridge with freezer compartment. Iron, ironing board, washing line pegs. Indoor & outdoor clothes line/rack. Fire extinguisher. Smoke detector. Private spring water supply, UV treated. No washing machine. No dishwasher. (Please supply your own milk as desired). No internet but reasonable mobile network coverage. Quiet peaceful area, but farm work will be in progress and can be busy at certain times of the year.
Keith is a lovely town with pubs, restaurants, tearooms, shops, swimming pool, kilt school, Heritage railway etc. Stunning woodland & hill walks/cycling in all directions from the chalet. It’s an ideal location for exploring the numerous whisky distilleries, beautiful castles and golf courses as well as the beautiful Moray firth coast with its dolphins. Centrally located, with Aberdeen, Inverness & Aviemore 50 miles in each direction. Just 10 miles from Cullen beach.
  • This property is located on a farm in some lovely countryside, there are nice walks straight from the chalet, and loads of great places to visit nearby. The property is spotlessly clean and has a great veranda to sit on over looking the farmland. Would definitely recommend it, was great value.

  • For anyone who reads this review, don't wait a moment longer !! Book this wonderful experience. If you are looking for: peace, tranquility, nature, a warm, clean and typically Scottish place (with a sprinkling of Africa ;-)), Maxine has created this little miracle right here !!! The house has large spaces and everything you need, nothing is really missing !!! Jo, she was really good and discreet, in our long stay, she cleaned the house and took care of everything. Another piece of my heart remained in Scotland! I'll be back soon ... Thanks Maxine !!!

  • This is a beautiful house in a quiet, rural area with views of waving cornfields. The place is spacious and we particularly liked the kitchen and dining room, complete with a wood burner. There is lots of space and a music room as well. If you are looking for a peaceful place in a rural area: this is it!

Maxine was a super helpful host making our stay very comfortable. We would definitely recommend this lovely home and will hopefully return to stay again in the near future.

  • I spent nearly 3 weeks in Maxine's lovely home. It was very comfortable from the bed, pillow to the warmest hospitality. Maxine was away in South Africa but she took excellent care of me remotely with the help of whatsapp, her kind neighbours and cleaner. I felt at ease right after booking when she sent me details information about what to do, where to go. Her help for recommending a dentist to our sharing of scenery photos are highly, highly appreciated. Communication was seamless. Information was abundant. The home is good enough for 4 persons. I had the luxury to enjoy the whole space by myself due to the very attractive price. Location is easy to access with a car. Highly recommended.
