We are situated on the North coast of the Island, within 5 mins of both major car ferries, it is really easy to get to by car, taxi or by bike, and we have plenty of parking, and safe places to put your bikes. We are in a great location on the edge of the village of Wootton, where there are shops - mini Tesco, pharmacy, petrol, Majestic, etc ! It is just 3 mins drive to the High Street. We are also only about a 7 min drive down to East Cowes, where there is a Waitrose. And 4 mins from a lovely farmshop with cafe/restaurant. So you will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere - in lovely rural peace and quiet - but you are really not far from civilisation at all ! And it's a great starting point for visiting places all over the Island , where there is a huge variety of things to do for all ages and preferences ! We can send you our special recommendations of 'Things To do' and great restaurants to try .
  • As interesting as it sounds, and everything in very good condition. Really comfortable bed, and a very cosy living room with the fire. We were well looked after. A very pleasant long weekend.

  • The Treehouse is a really magical place to stay- especially if you have kids. It was a cosy, comfortable and well appointed place - it had everything we needed and more. Fiona gave us a warm welcome and so much helpful information about the island. It was an unforgettable place to stay- especially having the gentle sway of the treehouse rock us to sleep each night.

    Claire2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • My 5 friends and I had such a great stay at this amazing place. The beds were very comfy after chilling in the main space with a wood burner going and some glasses of red wine. An Outdoor bbq, table tennis and games means there is plenty to keep yourselves entertained in a peaceful part of the IOWight. Only a 5-10min drive from the ferry if you head to Fishbourne which was great. Fiona was a fab host! 5 stars!

  • Amazing, we spent Xmas in the tree house, well worth every penny!

    Kate2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful unique place to stay. Everything from the lovely lit walk through the woods to the swing underneath and the secret room made this place so wonderful. Highly recommend.

    Aimee2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse is fantastic. A unique experience, for sure. It rocks you to sleep at night, which is just so lovely and there’s ping pong to be had, if you fancy it too. Mr 11 was absolutely delighted by all of it. Only wish we could have stayed longer. We’ll be back for sure 😊 Thank you

Our quirky studio is situated just a few minutes walk from the beautiful Freshwater Bay. It's ideal as a base for walker's, festival goers or people who just want to get away from all. With its own private courtyard you can come and go as you please.
Lots of recycled and beachcombed materials went into the building of this studio.
The locals are really friendly and most meet at freshwater bay on a Friday as the pizza van cooks beautiful stone baked pizzas. Remember to take some wine! The local mezze cafe is really popular with locals and tourists alike. There is a really old fashioned corner shop just up the road which has been open 150years! Dimbola gallery and cafe is also two minutes down the road and Tennyson house is a short walk away passing the beautiful thatched St. Agnes church.
  • Amazing little studio, really well built and decorated. Super cosy and has every thing you need. Genuinely fab place.

    Matthew2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Sea Salt Studio! Freshwater Bay is a lovely gem on the Isle of Wight, really calm and beautiful! We slept so well in the studio, it was really cosy with a beautiful bathroom and a lovely space to make our own for a short visit. We had a fun evening at the hip restaurant round the corner on our last night and enjoyed the tranquility of the place out of season! We got the ferry to Yarmouth and then cycled down to Freshwater - it was idyllic. We look forward to coming back when there’s a little less wind and a little more sun!

  • Great cosy place, I booked last minute and as there is a private and external access to the room I didn't get to meet Jason but he responded immediately and the place was waiting for me, clean and comfy, easy to find even in the night. I'd warmly recommend it.

    Elsa2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely quiet night away in the sea salt studio. Hosts were very friendly and provide a beautiful little space with lots of homely touches. Its a really nice area in freshwater and there's a cafe just around the corner for a perfect way to end the trip. Thank you very much for having us, we'd love to come back !

    Caitlin2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Jason's place is far better in reality than even the nice photos can show. It is cozy with lots of beautiful decor and everything you may need (dishes, cutlery, dish washing soap, a mending kit, local info, etc.). I highly recommend it! :)

    Joslyn2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend the place. Cute and cosy with thoughtful touches and beautiful decor. Local area is stunning. Jason and julie are great hosts with great communication. Will be staying again soon!

    Emily2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • It's a lovely little place with everything you could need for a short stay. Comfortable cosy & relaxed.

    Jenny2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is a really lovely space: very cosy, beautifully decorated, full of interesting things. It's a small space but didn't feel at all cramped, it was very clean, and there were lots of thoughtful touches. We stayed in winter and I thought it might be cold but it was toasty warm with the heater. 5 minute walk to the beach, and a bus stop across the road. Lovely stay.

  • Great location and fabulously clean, comfortable and cosy cottage. Would definitely stay here again. Great value too.

  • This cottage is the best Airbnb place we have stayed in. It is beautifully and thoughtfully furnished and immaculately clean. The location is stunning- perfect for long walks along the coast. Communication, both prior to, and during our stay was superb and I honestly can’t think of how our stay could be improved ...except perhaps for the weather !!

    Isobel2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • As a super host myself and regular traveller I can categorically say that this was one of the best Airbnb stays I've had. Very high quality accommodation with quality fixtures and fittings. It doesn't get much better than this.

  • We stayed at Palomino Cottage for a Valentine break. It was perfect, despite Storm Dennis! The cottage was sparkling clean, every need taken care of and very warm and comfortable. It is in a peaceful location, no traffic noise, just the sea in the background. Mike made sure we had accurate directions to find the cottage, and the fruit cake and fresh eggs we found on arrival were a lovely touch. Communication was very good from the initial booking. A very good host. The location is great for accessing coastal walks, beaches and other island attractions. We had a meal at the Sun at Hulverston, ( 5 mins away by car) the staff were very welcoming, and the food good.

    Julia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A warm, comfortable, clean, very well furnished & equipped cottage in a small, private, safe & peaceful complex, ideally located to enjoy the beautiful sights of West Wight. Brook Bay within walking distance with stunning sunsets not to be missed! The Needles and Yarmouth easy drives. Lots of local tips available from a friendly & helpful host. Highly recommended.

    Ben2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay, will definitely be back! Cosy and homely, nice small touches and lovely location. Thoughtful and attentive hosts.

    Donnelly2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • 10/10 stay. Highly recommended if you're after a nice peaceful getaway. Mike is a great host and the cottage is lovely. Definitely somewhere I'd stay over and over if in I.O.W

    Nicola2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was perfect. The cottage was so cosy and had everything we needed. The location was fantastic - so close to some really lovely beaches. Mike even made sure the cake upon arrival was vegan - which was much appreciated (and delicious!). Would absolutely stay again.

  • Beautiful place to stay. Inside and out. We felt right at home. Lovely hosts with great tips for places to visit.

  • This Air BnB was amazing! Every inch of the building was immaculate and surpassed every expectation I had. Zena left perfect instructions of how to find the place and the folder that was inside had every bit of information about the area of freshwater and the Isle of Wight. My girlfriend and I will definitely be booking again as soon as we can! It is PERFECT!

    Adam2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Zena and Phil are excellent hosts. Their venue is beautiful, their hospitality was excellent and comforting and their communication was impeccable. The barn was extremely clean and stocked with everything we needed, including logs for their log burner (which was perfect to have burning during Storm Dennis) the stay was wonderful and you could say the only thing wrong with the weekend was the weather. I highly recommend anyone to stay at Zena and Phil’s barn and will be more than likely to return myself in the future.

    Peter2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic stable conversion in the most idyllic location. Hosts are fantastic, very welcoming and on hand to assist if needed.

    Simon2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing weekend. The accommodation was as described and pictured. A great and cosy environment with lots to do locally. The owners had a list of local recommendations of where to eat. We tried a few of them and where all superb. Great communication and excellent hospitality. We will definitely be staying here again.

    Akis2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Dena and Phil are lovely hosts, the barn is spotless and in a great location as a base to explore

    Lorraine2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful time! The cottage is beautifully decorated, very cosy and the fireplace was ready to go! Zena and Phill have gone above and beyond with the information about the area, places to eat, amenities; as well being close by should we need anything. I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you again!

Afton Thatch Lodge is a small thatched cottage in a beautiful rural location in Freshwater. Walks out the door. Open plan style, with light-filled master bedroom on the first floor. Views over the downs and estuary plus an ensuite bathroom.
Small open-plan thatched cottage best suited to a couple, but downstairs day bed and sofa bed can be made up to accommodate children or guests. There is one small double sofa bed, and one 'over-under' type bed, so technically could sleep up to four more people, but it's a small space! The kitchen has two burners and a microwave-oven combo, but not a full size oven.
  • We absolutely love our stay in this beautiful cottage. The quiet location is a perfect base to explore the island and the cottage was just lovely. We would definitely stay here again, thank you!

We loved walking round the gardens and they have a delicious cafe with comfy sofas and a fire for a bit of added luxury. If you are coming in the winter we would Recommend bringing an extra duvet or blanket as did get a bit cold in the early hours when the fire burns out

  • The cabin was in a perfect location near the botanic gardens with a great sea view and surrounded by amazing plants. It was spotlessly clean and even though it was cold outside the woodburner kept the cabin really toasty inside. Would love to come and stay again

  • Very nice space tucked away down a hidden road above the botanical gardens. The free access to the botanical garden was much appreciated and we had a great stay. There was a storm whilst we were there and it was very cosy with the woodburner on. The dog loved it too!

Nestled between two downs on westernmost point of the Island. Breathtaking views, walks out the door. Built in 1850s, restored with sumptuous furnishing, light filled rooms. Luxurious wood-burning sauna and outdoor shower.
Can sleep 4-6 (using sofa bed), or up to 8 people for 20% surcharge. Two bedrooms: Master bedroom (queen), second bedroom (double). The small library/TV room has an over/under day bed that can be made up for two more people. You have to walk through the library to reach the second bedroom. Additionally, the Lookout can be rented for a 20% surcharge. It is a small prow-shaped building at the front of the property, from where coastguards would watch for smugglers coming from Alum Bay. It has two (very!) high bunk beds accessed by a ladder, which can be a fun way to host children or guests.
  • Great location, beautiful house, would highly recommend!!

    Tara2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent cottage, very well equipped and very comfortable. Morgan’s instructions were accurate and comprehensive, and all was as expected. The only slightly tricky thing was the parking and access, particularly in a very wet February, but that won’t stop us returning again. Overall, highly recommended.

    Ben2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this place for my boyfriends birthday and was a little anxious due to the fact that it was our first trip away with our 7month old pup, but it was brilliant! I think the dog thought it was his birthday - he loved it! Great location, the place is big and spacious, would be great for a group of people but equally good for the 3 of us! Loved the fire place!! Lots of fantastic walks near by (lots of god walks) - everything you need is close by! Lovely view over the fields - It’s worth noting for dog owners that the garden isn’t secure but still private. If your dog is good off the lead then it’s no issue, big enough to stroll around. Had a great stay and would definitely stay again!!

  • This a a proper little gem. It is great to dump the car once you have arrived and stride out from there over to Totland and Colwell Bay or up to the Needles Batteries. Nestled between Tennyson Down and Headon Warren, it is perfect for viewing the coastlines, the sunrise and sunset and to fully appreciate the ups and downs of the area. It is cosy and inviting, peaceful, well put together and hard to leave. A regular haunt from now on for us, we hope.

  • Nice cottage in an excellent location. Plenty of walks on the doorstep with great views over the island. We had 4 adults and 2 kids in the cottage comfortably, with plenty to do nearby to keep the kids entertained even on a cold rainy weekend. The kitchen has everything needed to cook in the evenings but there are excellent places to eat within walking distance or a short drive.

    Tom2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic house which is well equipped, clean and well presented. There were welcoming touches such as milk in the fridge and some wood to get the fire started! The place was cosy and warm despite the 100 miles an hour wind and rain we had during our weekend. We would definately recommend a stay here.

  • The place of James is really a peaceful oasis: if you're looking for a secluded place, far from... everything, don't look further! It's a cottage with all the amenities you might need for a short stay: from the kitchen to the bathroom to the internet connection, everything worked perfectly. The only downside for us was the electric heating: we're used to central gas heating back home and with the humidity outside it was a bit unpleasant, especially at night when the heaters have to come off. We wanted to use logs but unfortunately the one we purchased from the local co.op were too damp to use. Other than that, it was really a perfect stay, we really needed exactly a place like that at this time of our life! The hospitality of Wenna, James' mother, was unique and her reactivity was truly appreciated. We had a wonderful time exploring Isle of Wight, which truly is a hidden gem! All in all, a great experience!

  • If you are looking for a cosy quiet remote place to relax then look no further. The cottage is immaculately clean. It’s small but comfortable. We visited in November but it would be excellent to visit in the Spring or summer. Winner is very friendly and accommodating if you have any needs. We will go back in Spring/Summertime.

  • We’ve just returned from a wonderful stay at Kennel Cottage in the IOW. The weather wasn’t great during our short stay but this didn’t matter. The cottage was so cosy and warm and full of surprises and nice touches. The log burner was an added bonus especially as we stayed in November. The setting was amazing! Only minutes from the ferry terminal at Fishbourne and yet really peaceful and quiet with views out over a loverly garden and farmland and woods beyond. We even saw a couple of Red squirrels as we arrived. James was a great host and his Mum who meet us at the property was really helpful too. We will definitely be back.

    Kevin2019-11-03T00:00:00Z

  • A very secluded little spot ... a pheasant every popped in to say hello! The kitchenette is equipped but I didn’t use it as ate out with friends. The bed is huge and very, very comfy ... the whole place was cosy and beautifully decorated. Would recommend a visit!

  • I would highly recommend Emma’s place for a visit to the Isle of Wight. It’s a fantastic place that was spotless and had great little additions like milk, tea etc. There was a fantastic book about where to eat and where to visit. Emma was great and even walked to meet us when I got lost (I’m a nightmare). Would 100% recommend.

It's easy to get around the island thanks to the very good bus service so no problem to rent without a car. The accommodation is very well equipped and the decoration is beautiful. Very clean accommodation

Petit Tor is a sunny Isle of Wight holiday home just over the road from famous Steephill Cove & other secluded beaches, Ventnor Botanic Gardens & Coastal Footpath. Great views, walking, cycling & family-friendly activities. Walk into Ventnor for shops, pubs and restaurants. In micro-climate of 'Britain's Hottest Garden'. Our own large, tropical gardens to dine & relax in. 4 local downs for walkers. Good for couples, families (+ kids) and well behaved dogs. Friendly new owners June 2016.
Petit Tor is a detached 2 bedroom bungalow with a separate living/dining room, kitchen, showroom/toilet, and bedrooms. There is plenty of parking space and a wonderful sub-tropical garden stocked with tropical plants and trees. We offer free wifi and will supply you with an access key in your welcome pack. Wifi signal cannot be guaranteed and can be intermittent.
Petit Tor is situated on the beautiful South East coast of the Isle of Wight opposite Steephill Cove and a few yards walk from the Botanic Gardens. This area is a secret hideaway for those who visit year after year! There is a coastal walking path moments from the door, that takes visitors all around the island with otherwise hidden bays and headlands and secluded beaches on the way. You can stroll into Ventnor for a glass or 2 by the sea, or listen to live music or eat out or take out. Wander to the Ventnor Country Market on Saturday morning or play a game of tennis at the club, watch a screening at the Arts Club – all in easy walking distance. There really is something for everyone.
  • Great location, easy access, good amenities. A cozy apartment with plenty of space and excellent shower! Coast a very short walk away and great way to meander towards the town centre. However the town is pretty much dead in the winter with little open or very limited hours but that is also the same across much if the island.

    Mark2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous few days at Petit Tor. The cottage was warm, charming and cosy, with everything we needed as well as a few thoughtful touches which were much appreciated. It was spotlessly clean and we received a warm welcome from Susie on arrival. Even in January we were amazed by how green the Isle of Wight was, with many plants already out in flower in the mild climate. The Botanic Gardens, just a few metres from the house, are well worth a visit, and there was lovely walking in both directions from Steephill Cove which meant a happy dog! We visited Osborne House which is spectacular, also the Garlic Farm which had an excellent restaurant. Sadly our stay was too short to see everything but we hope to return for longer in future as the Isle of Wight has so much to see and do and is very dog-friendly. Highly recommend.

    Tracy2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • The house is ideally located for exploring the south coast while also being close to other attractions on the island. Susie was a fantastic host, very responsive and went above and beyond when I had a personal issue. Amazing home away from home!

  • Fantastic location and fantastic bungalow! We really enjoyed our stay. Walked over 88,000 steps in 4 days! Perfect weather! Thank you so much for a very comfortable stay!

    Amy2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • If you visit Petit Tor, you will find an immaculate cottage situated in a beautiful quiet area with a private lovely garden area. The hosts were always helpful & a pleasure to meet providing personal touches (fruit, coffee, tea, towels & kitchen cloths/towels all tied with a ribbon bow. If you are thinking of renting this cottage.......think no longer.....book it!

  • The yurt was amazing, really enjoyed that it had speakers! Sue was so thoughtful from the breakfast basket to the greeting on arrival, we had such a lovely weekend away. Would thoroughly recommend!!

    Keira2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 3 nights in Sue's yurt to explore the Isle of Wight. The yurt is lovely and located in a beautiful garden with lovely views. I would recommend it to anyone looking for something other than a simple house or flat. We also got served a delicious breakfast with homemade jams :)

    Arthur2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and charming yurt in a great location. Outstanding hosting that helped make a great weekend away even better

    Sebastian2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our 2 night stay in the yurt was cosy and relaxing. The decorations are beautiful and every detail of what you may need has been thought of, including the breakfast which was a lovely treat each morning. Sue was nice enough to let us use her shower both days as we had spent our days cycling around the island, and we could store our bikes in their workshop. The yurt is a perfect location for cycling as it’s near the cycle path between Cowes and Sandown. The first night of our stay we used the microwave in the lobby to have a ready meal and the second we visited the stag pub down the road and both had very nice meals. Have already recommended staying here to friends and we hope to return!

    Sarah2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic stay, wonderful hospitality and magical yurt to spend a romantic night away in. We will return.

    Belle2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely lovely time at Sue's place, the yurt is as beautiful as the pictures depict. The bed was so comfortable we couldn't wait to get in it. We highly recommend this stay for anyone looking for a tranquil getaway on the island.

"Definitely one of the top places we have stayed in with Airbnb." FH May 2018. A character two bedroom terraced holiday cottage that can accommodate up to four people in the heart of Ventnor, Isle Of Wight. Just minutes from the local beach and amenities the house is an ideal base from which to explore the whole island. The house is a classic two up two down Victorian cottage built in the 1860s and sits in a charming terrace set back from the road which ensures peace and quiet.
The house was fully renovated in 2016 and is a now a well equipped home ideal for the family holiday. The house can accommodate a family of four or five as long as the fifth is a child. The main bedroom is equipped with a king size bed and a travel cot (please bring your own bedding for this). The rear bedroom has full size single bunk beds suitable for either adults or children plus a fold out bed. Although the folding bed is a full size single it's really more suited for a little one (the listing describes this as a sofa bed as a folding bed is not an descriptive option). If you wish to use the folding bed please let us know so we can arrange extra bedding for you. The main family bathroom is on the ground floor. The bath is full size with a fantastic thermostatic overhead shower which has a second diverter head also. A second toilet is on the first floor adjacent to the bedrooms. There is WiFi for your use and a house tablet pre-loaded with apps and information to help you enjoy your stay. The TV is fitted with Chromecast enabling you to use your favourite streaming service. A wireless speaker is also fitted with Chromecast so you can stream music or radio from your device. For cyclists there is a wall anchor fitted at the rear of the house to secure your bicycles of an evening. Ventnor is hilly, very hilly in places and this is not always suitable for people with limited mobility. The house is access up a fairly steep alleyway with a step. It is a charming old cottage in a lovely and quiet set back location but unfortunately we do not consider the access or the house suitable for wheelchair users. Ventnor beach is five minutes walk from the house. The town centre shops are about three minutes walk and the nearest car park is just two minutes from the front door (see below for more details about parking). Please note that for a fifth person there is an extra charge of £5 as extra linen has to be provided.
Ventnor is a Victorian seaside town situated on the southern side of the Isle of Wight, right in the heart of the famed Undercliff, much of which is designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. Sheltered from the north by the national trust owned St Boniface Downs, Ventnor benefits from its own micro climate. This climate provides an ideal haven for a variety of flora and fauna, many species of which are only found in Mediterranean countries. Visitors to Ventnor will find a great variety of established local shops, restaurants and public houses. All provide a friendly service both to their local community and its visitors. Many serve local freshly caught fish and locally brewed ales. The town is currently undergoing a revival with exciting developments including its harbour and off-shore deep sea moorings and a range of new accommodation, restaurants and retail outlets. To the east of the parish of Ventnor lies the village of Bonchurch renowned for its literary connections. Writers and poets such as Dickens, Stackpole and Swinburn all resided here for a time. To the west lies St.Lawrence nestling in the Undercliff. Here there are many miles of coastal walks, bays and places of interest to explore. Ventnor beach and Esplanade is just five minutes walk from the house.
  • A cosy retreat nestled close to the beach, perfect for families or couples alike. Lovely new kitchen of you are looking to self cater, but plenty of eateries nearby if not. A great base for exploring the island. Would recommend!

Welcome to my lovely cottage! With views of the Medina and just a 13 minute walk away from the RedJet and 10 minutes away from the bars and restaurants of Cowes, the cottage makes for a perfect getaway to the Isle of Wight. It’s in close proximity to some fantastic walks and perfect for anyone wishing to explore the Island.
A beautiful character property with exposed brick-work, a newly installed logburner and original features with modern touches.
  • Second stay was even better than the first. Perfect cozy home away from home.

  • We stayed in Charlie's beautiful little house, we use Air bnb regualrly and this is the nicest place we have stayed yet. Check in it was nice and easy and the place was spotless. The fire in the living room was a lovely treat and helped to create a warm cosy atmosphere in the evenings. As we drove, we where able to explore the whole island with ease from this point, you can drive virtually anywhere on the island in 25 minutes. There was a coop and an aldi really close by for any quick shopping. It was a lovely house and we were sad to leave and we would highly recommend this place as a base for visiting the Isle of Wight. 😊

  • Lovely location and such a cozy little house. Host included firewood for the log burner that's the centerpiece of the living room. Convenient walk to Cowes, lovely views of the shipping yard and plenty of parking on the road by the house for the car. Charlie was a great host giving us some tips of where to go and was quick to respond to any queries we had. The place is well stocked but there is no microwave or freezer, no problem for us but worth noting! Lots of little touches like board games and books to make sure the stay was good regardless of the weather Thanks again for the lovely stay

  • Such a warm and cute, cozy home. Nice style. Great lay out and natural light. Super close to Cowes, Red Squirrel trail and UKSA. The wood burning stove was perfect during a cold stormy days. I’ll be back in February.

Lit the log burner, had a good book and just completely cosied up on the full length sofa. It lived up to expectations, it’s a dear place and one I hope to return to.

  • Such a lovely place to come back to every night - warm, clean and cosy. We visited for a week in February in between the storms, but despite the weather we had a great time and was lovely knowing we had a nice warm house to come back to at the end of each day. Bree was fab, meeting us with a ‘hamper’ of some local produce/essentials. The property itself is in a block of 6 new-build holiday cottages and has been finished to a high standard with all the amenities you’d ever need: full kitchen with dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge freezer, oven/hob and even a nespresso machine! Efficient central heating, tv, comfy bed.. what more could you want?! The en-suite has a lovely deep bath to soothe your aching muscles too. Coupled with the rural, peaceful surroundings makes this place a hidden gem. Will be booking to visit again hopefully in the near future.

  • Lisa’s place was lovely and cosy, with lots of extra touches to make you feel at home. Lisa communicated quickly, which was particularly helpful when we needed to stay an extra night because of the storm. We also booked into the local pub for dinner on Lisa’s recommendation and had a fantastic meal. We would definitely stay again.

    Jacqui2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Thoughtful personal touches. Really grateful for recommending we book into the local pub for dinner. Food was delicious!

  • Perfect little getaway, close to the Red Squirrel walking/cycling trail. Super comfortable with everything you might need. The accommodation was warm and cosy with lots of thoughtful touches such as milk, butter, bread, eggs, biscuits and fruit which meant you didn’t have to rush out and find the nearest supermarket. The bed was wonderful and comfy. We ate at the Pointer Inn on one of our nights, which is not to be missed. Best pub food we have ever experienced! We would definitely return!

The most exclusive situation on the Isle of Wight, based on the quiet waterside by the River Yar estuary. Breathtaking surrounding views from sunrise to sunset, over one of the loveliest wildlife sanctuaries. Relax in your own private hot tub! If this is booked please check out our other amazing property ‘River Cottage’
The most amazing location! Ideal for couples, and families alike being very private. Beautiful converted Boathouse with private garden set right beside the water, with sunrise to sunset sun, and the most stunning views. Hundreds of lovely comments in our guest book over the past 18 years will vouch for this! Off street parking for one car, and very private 6 seater hot tub directly overlooking the water and sunsets. Located in a prime area of ‘natural outstanding beauty’ in Yarmouth, and just 300m from the ferry and destination harbour town. Great choice of places to eat and drink, and lovely little shops. Beautiful walks on your doorstep. No car needed unless you wish to see the Island. (Bus service very good though)
Stunning setting for romantic breaks, families, or to simply sit and admire the wonderful views and bird life right on your doorstep. The waterside location is second to none, in the country with stunning views, beautiful sunsets from the garden and hot tub!,and yet peaceful and within very easy 300m walking distance of the destination harbour town of Yarmouth (inc Wightlink Ferry terminal)/town centre/many pubs and eating establishments, extra car parking/Island wide bus terminal/public telephone all within 300 meters. Plus direct link to London. There’s simply no better location on the Island!
  • Such a peaceful place to unwind and relax. The boathouse is well equipped and very welcoming. Bed is very comfortable and the furnishings are well thought out to fit the theme of the Boathouse. The little touches, including a delicious bottle of wine, make all the difference. The hot tub is a great place to enjoy the view of the estuary. A very short walk to Yarmouth town where we enjoyed eating out. Highly recommend visiting.

  • Great place, Nigel is very quick to answer and very accommodating. It's our second time and not our last in the boathouse, we love it :)

    Laura2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Boathouse is a truly special place. Its location is fantastic, down a quiet lane with gorgeous views across the Yar Estuary where you can just listen and watch the birdlife or watch the sun go down from the hot tub. It's a stone's throw from a great cycle path and a stroll into lovely Yarmouth. The Boathouse has a lovely feel about it and its beautifully decorated and has everything you need - so well equipped! There was something magical about waking up from the very comfy bed to the view in the morning. Even during very stormy weather during my stay (thanks Storm Ciara!) I felt snug, secure and cosy. Nigel is an excellent host, quickly and generous with his recommendations and updated me when the property was ready (even before the check in time). Welcome gifts and essentials also very welcome. Would whole-heartedly visit again. 😄🤞

    Louise2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • I always like to stay in new locations but this is the first time I really want to re-book soon and return! So beautiful and sensitively decorated. Thoughtful touches (even a bottle of lovely cold wine in the fridge) and advice on hand from Nigel whenever we needed recommendations or advice. The hot tub is the icing on the cake, watching the sunset on a chilly evening was so exhilarating! It’s so cosy with the wood burner too, the perfect out of season location for a dog walking, family mini-break, really can’t recommend enough...

    Jennie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I would like to say that this was the worst place I've been but that would be only because I wouldn't want anyone else to be there when we wanted to be there again. It would be completely selfish and I would rather know that others have experienced the same amazing experience that we have also. It's just what we needed to get over of a horrific year. This was just the perfect antidote to relieve us of all our stresses and worries. How much more perfect can it get than watching the most amazing sunset go down whilst sipping a G&T in the Hot Tub and then walking to the town for a lovely meal and then the next morning going on a wonderful walking adventure with our pooches starting right outside your doorsep. You can leave the car parked for the whole time and just walk to your hearts content. I have to say that it was only made special by Nigel and Sarah's wonderful hospitality and accomodating us in every way and responding instantly to any query or request. It was lovely to meet them on the final day by chance on a walk, They are wonderful people and that is what makes The Boathouse extra special. After posting all our wonderful pics online we have had so many people asking for the details... SO don't dilly dally and have the best experience close to nature and wonderful walks you can get AND ENJOY as much as we did.. See you again soon.. Roy & Lara

Delightfully charming tiniest chalet (16m2), right on the seafront in one of the most characterful little corners of the Island. Recently refurbished for holiday lets, the chalet is ideally suited for a single person or a couple. Sorry, no pets. FROM £50 per night.
Beachside Chalet No1 is approached from a residential road, offering a safe and peaceful environment. The quiet village of Gurnard sits west along the coast from the bustling internationally renown yachting town of Cowes. HISTORY - The chalet is one of a row built in the 1930s on the waterfront for holiday use. They have been slowly modernised over the decades with some still very much as they were when originally built, so rather old and weary, giving the area a feel reminiscent of times gone by. The charm of this unique little area of the Island owes a lot to the planning restrictions keeping redevelopment of these chalets to a strict character code of single storey, pastel coloured shiplap cladding, pitched roofs, porches and low picket fencing. The Marsh is clearly defined at one end by a delightful little bridge over a water inlet, The Luck, home to a cluster of small fishing boats. At the other end stands a gentle hill leading up to the village pub and shop. During WW2, A Sergeant was accommodated in Chalet 1, and the other chalets accommodated the wrens who operated the anti aircraft search lights. After the war, these chalets were used as holiday accommodation. Over the decades, most of the chalets on the other side of the road have been rebuilt, but most on the sea side are still original, but updated with modern conveniences, giving the area a feel reminiscent of times gone by. OUR CHALET fronts onto a large lawned area with direct access to the beach. The lack of fencing between the chalets allows for an open an friendly feel, though Chalet No1 has its own picket fenced garden from which to enjoy the sea views more privately. We have recently removed the front fence panel (in the photos) in order to improve the view. The quiet beach in front of the property changes with every high tide; mostly shingle with patches of sand and groynes of natural rock. The yachting activity in the Solent ensures a constant changing scenery. Varied and glorious sun sets over the water will take your breath away. You will never bore of watching this particular part of the world go by. The chalet renovations have been designed to make most use out of all the space. The one room accommodates living, dining, kitchen galley and a cosy nook for the standard double bed with a medium/soft mattress. A wet room with toilet, shower, basin and electric towel rail is off this main room. Clever storage solutions throughout allow the area to feel clutter free. The emphasis for a holiday in this chalet is to 'get away from it all'. With this in mind, there is no television or high fi system. If you wish to be entertained, bring your laptop to connect to our wi-fi free of charge, and your own radio or iPod dock for your iPod. PARKING is on the unrestricted quiet residential road by the chalet. The bus service is only twice a day, with the nearest bus stop servicing 4 buses an hour to Newport and Cowes, about 15 mins walk. Walking into Cowes takes about 40 mins. Walking to the village shop and pub takes about 8 mins. There is a cafe/restaurant on the coast within 5 mins walk west, another within 10 mins walk east. Depending on your mobility, you may find bringing a car to the Island useful. PETS - strictly not allowed under any circumstances, for health hygiene and allergy reasons. WARNING - The chalet is tiny, just 4m x 4m. The bed is a standard double, with a medium/soft mattress, set in an alcove; if you are tall or big, you might find it uncomfortable.
ISLAND DETAILS The Isle of Wight is often referred to as “Little Britain”: it is as if all of Britain’s topography has been condensed into one smaller island. No where on the Island is more than an hour’s drive and most of it within minutes. You can find beaches of all descriptions, sandy, rocky, shingle, dunes, each with their own views, some with popular attractions, others tucked away and secluded. Cliffs, plateaux, hills, forests, open meadows, disused railway paths, esplanades, riverbanks, all make for an enormous amount of varied walks and picnic spots. The extensive range of cycle paths makes the Island accessible along the quiet and thick of the countryside. The ‘capital’ of the Island is Newport, but each large town offers its own attractions of shopping, restaurants, cafes and bars. There are two multi-screen cinemas, a large theater and several smaller ones. Smaller character villages with thatched roof cottages offer cream teas, gift and craft shops and show a different side of the Island. Cowes, an international yachting town, brings much sailing activity and excitement during the summer months. Tourist attractions for families abound and can be looked up on the internet. A few that spring to mind are: - Queen Victoria’s holiday home, Osbourne House. - Ventnor Botanic Gardens - Alum Bay’s coloured sands - Lighthouses at the Needles and St Catherine’s point - Blackgang Chine - Robin Hill Amusement Park - Isle of Wight Pearls - Isle of Wight Glass - Isle of Wight Lavender - Many areas designated as areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty The following activities are encouraged on the Island: Sailing, kayaking and other water sports, walking, cycling, swimming, snorkeling, crabbing, rock pool exploring, horse riding, golf, fishing, tennis, picnics and miles of perfect beach combing. Something for everyone who likes the outdoors, watersports and good restaurants. Not the right destination for you if you are looking for nightclubs or casinos.
  • This chalet was just as described - very small but great location directly overlooking the sea; also very peaceful. It suited me very well as a base for visiting the Island.

    Nicky2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • This sweet little space is just a stone's throw from the water. If you're feeling adventurous would highly recommend a chilly early morning dip followed but a lovely hot shower in the cosy beach house! Although the property is very close to alot of other huts, it actually feels quite private and quiet, and is definitely pretty cosy - and a very comfy bed! (Maybe not the best place if you're tall though - low ceilings and enclosed bed)

  • This beachside chalet is the perfect getaway for couples. It’s got a lovely cozy and friendly atmosphere. Really beautiful location with some lovely walks around. Really enjoyed the walk along the seafront into Cowes. Everything you need in the cottage, just perfect!

Bembridge is a small coastal village on the eastern side of the Isle of Wight, and claims to be the largest in England, with 4,000 residents. With local supermarkets, unique independent shops, several restaurants, a bakery, butcher and fishmonger, it is well serviced. There are 3 beaches, the Ledge, Lane End and Bembridge, with lots of rockpools and stunning views, where you can explore, walk and swim. We have a local RNLI boat station and the well-known Bembridge Windmill.
There is a separate shower/toilet for your private use and your room has a kettle, tea/coffee/biscuits/milk/sugar and small fridge where you can store any chilled products.
We live in a quiet neighbourhood, within easy walking distance of the beach, restaurants and local restaurants.
  • Compact self contained 2 room annex to the hosts' house, with v good bed, TV, lovely shower, nice breakfast brought in to us. Friendly and helpful hosts. Very clean and really good value for money. Ideal position, 5 mins walk to our favourite bay (natural, no buildings, only a few wooden shacks, (one serves food in the summer). A good pub, the Crab and Lobster, on the cliff above the beach, with good food. Other good places within walking distance. A great airbnb find, we will be back!

  • Great little BnB for two. Very clean with good amenities - there’s a mini fridge and a microwave in case you fancy staying in one evening, as well as full laundry facilities. Breakfast is lovely and the hosts are extremely accommodating (my food allergy was catered for). A short walk from the beach and some lovely pubs. We’d definitely visit again!

Shanklin Manor dates back to the Doomsday Book and has previously been a house and farm, being the home to the various Lords of the Shanklin Manor for many years. It was purchased by the local council in the early 20th century, with much of the land put into public ownership, such as Big Meade park and Shanklin Cricket Club, with the house sold on to the Workers’ Travel Association for a hotel for the underprivileged and then turned into a luxurious hotel in 1979. It has now been extensively renovated and restored to bring it back to its former glory, as well as meet the demands of the modern world. The duplex apartment comprises of two large bedrooms, one a master double bedroom with ensuite and the second twin bedroom, as well as a family bathroom, all on the first floor. There is also a toilet on the ground floor. All of the bedrooms benefit from parkland and woodland views, as well as views across farmland. The living area on the ground floor is spacious and open plan, with separate seating area with leather sofas and a home cinema and music system with LCD TV, HD DVD/CD player, Freeview, mobile/tablet jack and radio tuner, with speakers and controls in all bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as a dining area and kitchen. The kitchen includes an integrated dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, oven, hob and microwave, all with a granite worksurface and kitchen lighting. The grounds and gardens extend out to 2 acres, with a listed walled garden and summerhouse, as well as a private gate for access the adjacent picturesque parkland. Just next door is Shanklin Cricket Club, where you can enjoy a summer’s afternoon watching the action, as well as the Big Meade park surrounding the manor, with open grassland, a duck pond and children’s play area. Finally, the historic St Blasius’ Church can be found at the entrance to Shanklin Manor, which was the former church to the manor and dates back to 12th century. Just five minutes walk away is the Old Village, with the famous thatched cottages and a selection of local shops, pubs and restaurants, and the main town centre following afterwards. Finally, it is just five minutes walk from the cliff top and Esplanade with its sandy beaches.
  • An excellent place to stay. A beautiful building in a beautiful setting. Quiet, relaxing and a very well appointed house. Host was really helpful, communicative and it was like a home from home. Lovely rooms, great facilities, good bathroom, easy access, I’m really not sure what more you could want from an AirBnB, well done to the team, we loved it and so did the kids.

    James2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Would recommend this to anyone! Very clean, great location and friendly owner. 10/10

    Josh2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is spacious, modern and clean, based in a beautiful park with private parking. There was a welcome pack and also lots of leaflets and information about local attractions. The village is nice with some great places to eat, and is also within easy reach of lots of beaches and activities. We stayed in November, so the area was quieter than usual, but we still found plenty to do and see. Adam replied very promptly to us when arranging our arrival and was flexible with the arrangements. We would highly recommend this place.

    Julie2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is spacious and extremely well appointed with everthing you might require. The appliances are new and spotlessly clean as are all the rooms. The linen and towels are all of good quality and the beds are most comfortable. The apartment is situated in a peaceful and quiet parkland environment and very close to the "old village" of Shanklin. I would highly recommend Shanklin Manor.

    Barry2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay here - the photos don't do the location justice. Its in a nice quiet setting with lovey parkland all around and an easy walk to Shanklin and all its amenities. There was plenty of space for the 4 of us. We would recommend this property.

    Jill2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great clean, safe, modern solid house built in a traditional style which really blends into location. Located at south end of Shanklin which is both quieter and better looking. However, still lose to some really good places to eat and shop. Accommodation has everything you need for a fantastic break / holiday. Adam was a really good host, efficient and good information provided.

    Michael2019-09-27T00:00:00Z

One bedroom apartment located just off the High Street in the centre of Ryde town. Surrounded by beautiful garden, the south facing windows make it a very light, warm and cosy place. Perfect for singles or couples looking for a base to enjoy all that Ryde has to offer. There’s even a sofa bed for the kids! Being on the ground floor with no steps it's easy to access and very close to cafe's, bars, restaurants and shops. Peter Pans funfair and the beach 1km away. Or simply relax in the garden!
This cosy apartment is perfect for singles or couples, young or old, looking for a quiet retreat with outdoor space in the centre of town. Being on the ground floor with no steps the apartment is easy to access via the garden path directly from the main High street. The bathroom also offers a walk in shower making the place ideal for those with mobility problems. Please note that the sofa bed is 114cm wide and only really suitable for a maximum of two small children.
Ryde town offers a fantastic range of boutique shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. The seafront has plenty to keep kids entertained from Peter Pan's fantasy play park to LA Bowling alley, and of course the award winning beaches.

A newly refurbished and remodelled chalet situated in a tranquil setting with no passing footfall or traffic, Seaglass is perfectly positioned to explore Ventnor, a quirky Victorian seaside town set in fantastic scenery. There is a decked garden area overlooking the Sea in Wheelers Bay. You are a short walk away from the seafront and also to the town. With central heating and underfloor heating in the bathroom, the accommodation is cosy and beautifully decorated in a coastal style.
Seaglass is a detached timber chalet with all modern amenities. With an open plan feel there are sea views from the kitchen, diner, living room and master bedroom. A well equipped kitchen comes with a washing machine, microwave, fridge, gas hob and electric fan oven. There is gas central heating and a combi boiler for instant hot water. The shower room has a walk in cubicle and double sink with separate toilet and underfloor heating. There is a decked garden area, enclosed with raised planters and brick bbq overlooking the sea. The chalet is in an extremely quiet location, open your windows and all you can hear is the sea and birdsong. There is a free car park for the site a 100 yards from the chalet.
Ventnor is a fantastic, quirky Victorian seaside town. It is easy to reach by car or public transport. The beach is beautiful with excellent water quality for swimming. Voted in the top 10 UK seaside destinations 2018 by Countyfile and the Guardian and one of top 12 quirky seaside towns to visit by Timeout in 2019. There are many pubs, bars, restaurants and cafes open all year to suit all budgets. The scenery is spectacular, great for walking and as a base to explore the island. Steephill cove is around a 30 minute walk from Seaglass and is well worth a visit - very secluded and unspoilt. The Isle of Wight itself has many historical attractions including Osbourne House, the home of Queen Victoria where she lived out the rest of her life after Prince Albert died. Carisbrooke Castle, where Charles I was imprisoned before his execution is a bus ride away near Newport. He also lived in Ventnor for some of his incarceration on the island. Ventnor is also home to St Boniface Downs, the highest point on the island with spectacular views, grazing cattle and goats. We have only independently owned cafes, shops and restuarants which gives the town a very unique feel. Ventnor has a strong sense of community and always offers a warm welcome to visitors.
  • Wow what a lovely place to stay! Great location for exploring the IoW. My children (7 and 5) loved the location, the fossil hunting and the places to visit and Jacqui and Colin had loads of useful suggestions. The chalet is great, really nicely decorated and clean and tidy. Suitable for little children upwards. It has a little outdoor patio but the weather was horrible so we didn’t make use of it and just snuggled on the sofa and watched the waves. Jacqui and Colin are great hosts, quick to answer questions and they have provide some lovely touches - loads of magazines and books to read, lots of games and dvds. Netflix and Wi-fi were really good and the provisions provided were amazing - tea and coffee are daily standard but were plentiful along with cookies, milk, a bottle of red wine and chocolates. The kitchen also contains useful things like oil, ketchup/mayo, foil, cling film, flasks and plastic boxes for picnic bits! All really useful and unexpected. I would definitely come again

  • Three days of enjoyment. Extremely convenient to High Street. Jacqui and Colin offered some very helpful tips and made sure we were properly settled in. The chocs, milk and wine they left were much appreciated. The views of the sea were wonderful. Definitely recommend this place if you are planning a stay in Ventnor. Very clean and well-equipped.

  • This chalet is absolutely beautiful. In every way it exceeded our expectations from the numerous small personal touches to the breathtaking sea view. The house is beautifully furnished and equipped with absolutely everything you could possibly need or want during your stay. The location is fantastic with only a 5 minute walk to the centre of Ventnor and short sea front walk to a great family pub. I would definitely recommend a stay in Seaglass.

    Clare2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect nest to explore Ventnor and surroundings on foot.

    Jill2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We booked this place based on the sea view and... wow it certainly didn't disappoint! We spent quite a bit of time just relaxing on the sofas watching the rolling waves. Jacqui and Colin have really thought of everything. All the little touches made the whole place feel really homely. The cooking facilities were really good. The town centre is only a couple of minutes walk away and is idyllic. We look forward to returning next year.

  • My husband and I, along with our 8 month old son, spent a long weekend at Spyglass and we thoroughly enjoyed are stay. It was our first time in Isle of Wight, and we felt Ventnor was the ideal location for us, easy to get to the east and west of the island and is such a cool little town. The villa was furnished beautifully, with everything we needed, apart from a cot which we bought with us. The view was unbeatable, watching the waves crashing down with a cup of tea in our hands was the best way to start the morning! We arrived in the dark, but with the check in instructions given by Jacqui and Colin, it was quite easy to locate and make ourselves at home. They even popped by to welcome us. They had thoughtfully left us a bottle of wine and box of chocolates, and it felt festive with the Christmas tree up too!

    Lauren2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place with lots of extra touches, good location within Ventnor and has fabulous sea views. Jacqui and Colin were excellent hosts. Would thoroughly recommend.

    Liz2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Seaglass exceeded all expectations. It is a beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, homely, welcoming and relaxing  place to stay. The view of the sea is wonderful, you can sit for hours just watching the changing colours, and the boats going past. Jacqui and Colin made us feel so welcome, and they have truly thought of everything you need to make your stay just perfect, no detail has escaped them. We'd highly recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed!

  • This is my first airBnB experience, we were truly impressed with Peter's property. Its best suited for a small family or a couple who would like a pleasant stay in the island. From the welcome note to the quick responses from Peter, he made our stay at his property pleasant and seamless. I will definitely return and recommend this property to my other friends. To our surprise he had a lot of ready to eat stuff which we could use during our stay. The kitchen is fully equipped and functional which made it easy especially with a kid with us. The beds/mattress were quite comfortable. Overall the house made this trip to the island more memorable.

Plenty of tea and coffee and cereal which was left for us. (Very kind) Peter responds very quickly to messages. Right near the sea front. Will visit again!

  • This little hut is amazing if you are looking for a reasonably priced stay. It has absolutely everything you could ask for. Ten minutes' walk from the town centre, this little treasure is tucked away at the back of Dan and Sarah's house. It is a Shepherd's Hut, so you do only have limited space which suited me fine, as I Iike to lie on the bed and watch TV. Right next door is another hut which is your own private bathroom. Huge bath but no shower. I suggest bringing a pair of flip flops to save you taking your boots or shoes on and off each time you go to the loo. There were 2 lovely plush bath robes as well. Huge choice of teas and coffees with your own fridge, which the hosts had thoughtfully stocked up with milk and pots of jam; there was also a selection of cereal and even Lindt chocolate balls 🤗 You are also in invited to use their kitchen for cooking and eating your meals. I would liken this hut to glamping and for the price you will not find a better accommodation anywhere. Thank you Dan and Sarah

    Irene2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is perfectly priced, if you're looking for an adventurous and different stay on a small budget this is great! It is a kitted summer house/ Shed in the garden with a nice seporate bathroom 10 feet away. Heating is good and definitely required in the winter. Don't expect 5 star accommodation for the price. You get exactly what you pay for and I would definitely stay again if I needed somewhere on the island. Thank you

Little Wing is a beautifully converted studio apartment located in stunning countryside on the Isle of Wight. The open plan contemporary design is perfect for couples looking for a quiet retreat. Chillerton is ideally located to explore the whole island; stunning walks across fields and farms to The Chequers Pub (45 mins) in Rookley and the Crown in Shorwell (1 hour) mountain bike trails over The Downs or the cycle track and only a short drive from a choice of our best beaches.
Ella, Toby and wilf welcome you to Isle of Wight and to 'Little Wing' Chillerton is a small village and although it hasn't got its own pub it's community come together regularly for local events such as ale nights, folk nights, reading room talks and evenings, Saturday market, the annual Village show and monthly quiz evenings. Newport, the main county town, with local as well as well known shops and supermarkets is a 6 minute drive away. Fox and Hounds Cottage was once a smallholding providing provisions for the village. Cows were milked in The Cow Shed (now Little Wing) by Toby's great uncle Harold who lived next door at Glencoe Cottages and our dear neighbour Hilton Taylor who only recently passed away. We have tried to preserve the building as it was intended, a working shed in a working community and looking at old photographs you can see nothing much has changed from the outside. Inside we hope we have provided a little bit of unexpected contemporary comfort and character and a wonderful base for you to explore our beautiful island Our families have lived and worked on the island for generations and we will always be excited to share our knowledge of quiet unspoiled beaches and beauty spots, lively pubs, local attractions and events, music and live entertainment or exquisite places to eat.
Our Village is set in an AONB. and is a rural farming community, Barn Owls quarter the field opposite at dusk and country foxes and Badgers are often out at night.

The cottages are lovely, cosy even in the winter, great location and offer an ideal living space and base for my working/travelling trips.

  • My husband, 9 month old baby and I just stayed here for a week over New Year (second visit in fact as we also stayed in the autumn!) whilst visiting family on the island and we had a great time both visits with no issues. Both of the chalets we stayed in were very well finished with all the mod cons- flat screen TV, power shower and bath, full kitchen facilities (oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer).... lovely lounge area, table and chairs on the mini patio out the back- lovely to have breakfast out there in the summer I imagine! We loved all the homely furnishings and a major bonus- the bed is really comfy! Lovely bathroom as well with plenty of space. Going above and beyond they also provide some local bread, eggs and milk. In addition- the hosts are quick to respond to messages over the air b&b app and there is very easy parking right in front of the chalets. Thank you very much and we’ll see you again next time we’re down on the island. Zoë, Joe and baby Chiara x

Willow Cottage is a stone built semi-detached self-catering cottage, tucked away in the pretty, rural hamlet of Yafford, by a large pond. It is ideal for two people. It has a downstairs kitchen, shower room and sitting room with a large upstairs bedroom. There is an enclosed garden to the back of the cottage. The picture postcard village of Shorwell is about a 20 minute walk whilst Brighstone is five minutes by car. Yafford is an ideal base for exploring the Island. Dogs are welcome.
As you enter Willow Cottage you will see the stairs to your right which lead to the spacious open plan upstairs bedroom with king size bed and built-in cupboards under the eaves. There is a good sized shower room to the left of the hall as you enter through the front door. Please note the enclosed garden is accessible by walking around the property from the front door to the back garden. Willow cottage is near to some of the Island's most beautiful beaches along the south west coast. One well behaved dog is welcome. Willow Cottage may be booked with Pond Cottage for larger groups.
Yafford is a very small hamlet, surrounded by farmers' fields and open spaces. There are fishing lakes nearby. There are plenty of scenic walks along thet lanes and marked footpaths directly from the cottage as well as bridle paths. Willow Cottage is on the Island's cycle path which runs directly outside the property. There are plenty of beautiful areas to explore and historic places of interest to visit nearby and further afield on the Island. For example, the vibrant Harbour Town of Yarmouth, Carisbrooke Castle (where Charles I was imprisoned) and Osborne House, home of Queen Victoria, Albert and their children. There are plenty of peaceful countryside walks nearby and stunning coastal walks with dramatic sea views, especially along the chalky cliff tops of the west coast nearby. Tennyson Down is a beautiful open downland walk near to Freshwater Bay; a steep climb takes you up to the monument where you are rewarded with fantastic views of the mainland and beyond. The Isle of Wight walking festival takes place from April 28 - May 13 in aid of Earl of Mountbatten Hospice on the Isle of Wight. At Christmas time we are very fortunate to have the Christmas Tree festival within our local churches of Brighstone, Mottistone and Brook as well as other venues within the area such as Isle of Wight Pearl, which is a beautiful scene of many differently decorated trees which attracts visitors from across the Island and mainland. The Christmas trees are still available to view at Brighstone Church until 31st December.

Small but beautiful barn conversion in rural location but very close to Newport and Carisbrooke Castle. Cottage offers south facing front garden with BBQ and large rear area with drying facilities. Cottage has excellent quality facilities including LG washer/dryer, spa bath, large breakfast bar. Parking for or 2 vehicles. Central position on island making it easy to get to town or beaches. Lovely views from new conservatory. TWO DAY BOOKINGS ON REQUEST ONLY AS CLEANING CHARGE MAY BE APPLIED.
Great for cyclists or walkers and lovers of the countryside and wildlife. Central location makes it easy to explore the whole island and within easy reach of beaches. The cottage was once a milking barn and belonged to the manor house. Alvington Manor was one of the first manor houses on the island and was part of Carisbrooke Castle estate.
Footpath behind cottage takes you down to Carisbrooke where there is the castle and Valentinos Restaurant which is very popular with the locals. The footpath also takes you up to the Blacksmiths Arms which has a lovely outside dining area.
  • A lovely cottage, beautifully presented and thoughtful touches which we appreciated.

The Carisbrooke Castle is so close & full of history again wonderful walks. Would love to come back again. Thank you Jane for an amazing stay

  • Jane's place is great as a base on the island and has everything you could need. Sky movies was a bonus when it was miserable in one of the evenings and kept the kids entertained.

  • Amazing cottage! Great central location! Simply stunning cottage with so many thoughtful touches included. Thanks so much. 2 adults and 2 children and we found the space perfect!

  • Lovely cottage. It is a little off the beaten track so worth checking if that suits

    Jo2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Our second visit in 3 months, we really love Buttercup Cottage! Set in peaceful surroundings but near enough to all of the places we love to visit. All the personal little touches, the fact that it is spotlessly clean, nicely furnished, everything you could possibly want and fantastic views. Highly recommended!

    Wendy2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Really fantastic property in a quiet but still ideal location just outside Carisbrook. Property clean and comfortable and Jane clearly really cars about her guests. Great little touches like milk in fridge on arrival Overall really enjoyed our short stay

  • Lovely place with everything thought about for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The location suited us too, being surrounded by countryside but only a fifteen minute walk into the town. The local pub was a joy too with live music and friendly service.

  • Emma’s place is absolutely amazing! So much character a beautiful property with charm. So much thought has gone into every part of her home right down to the information book! I would recommend this place you won’t regret it, I will be sure to go back!

  • What a sweet place to stay! Emma was very responsive and accommodating when we arrived later than expected. The cottage is adorable and located on a small, quiet, tree-lined road with several old, nice estates to the north. We very much enjoyed our weekend there and recommend it for a quiet retreat.

  • We had a wonderful weekend stay. The cottage is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The children loved having a real fire to light and sit beside, particularly as we were visiting in January. However I think we need more practice keeping the fire alight before another visit! The addition of room heaters also helped first thing in the morning! The kitchen was well equipped, although we only got to use it for breakfast as we were out and about for the rest of our meals. The location of the cottage was great and easy to find, even when arriving late at night. We would definitely recommend it and would like to return.

  • We enjoyed our stay, very clean and cosy, free parking in private driveway too. Definatly will choose again when visiting Isle of Wight.

  • A lovely cottage - we had a delightful few days - it was a real home from home. Beautifully styled and a very well stocked kitchen, it truly felt like we’d always been there!! We loved coming back there each day and slept really well as the beds are very comfortable. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was lovely. Lots of good information about things to do and the cottage’s location just outside shanklin is ideal. Rooted in the countryside but a stones throw from amenities. Perfect.

  • Beautiful house and lovely quiet setting. In driving distance of all the hotspots on the island and some excellent walks close by. Great log burner for those colder evenings! We would definitely reccomend the house and hope to be back soon!

My beautiful, cosy cottage is located in the heart of Ryde on the Isle of Wight, in easy walking distance of the town centre, travel links such as the bus station, Fastcat, Hovercraft and trains, as well as beaches, shops, restaurants and beautiful walks. It is an ideal location for couples, small families, friends and business trips. The cottage is quirky and cute, perfect for a peaceful getaway yet close to all amenities.
My place is an old fisherman's cottage, lovingly restored to create a cosy seaside retreat. The interior and exterior of the property have been recently re-decorated in the last two years, with new carpets, beds and furniture. Slightly wonky floors add to the character and history of the cottage.
My neighbourhood is unique as it is extremely close to the town centre, yet on a quiet road surrounded by lovely neighbours and a church! On Sunday mornings you may wake up to the sound of church bells and hymn singing. The cottage is situated within walking distance of the high-street, where you can find shops and restaurants.
  • Simple luxury to match the honest timeless quality of the island. And a great location, with real shops and bars round the corner, and easy access to the islands walks and beaches by train and bus. We will be back as soon as we can!

  • Fuchsia cottage is a lovely mix of cosy and modern Clean, within walking distance of everything in Ryde. We'll definitely come "back to the fuchsia!"

  • We had a lovely time in Jess’s accommodation. A beautiful little cottage which was perfect for us to have some time and escape while on the island visiting family. The house had everything we wanted and was perfectly located for some lovely beach walks and to visit the restaurants on the high street. Parking was a bit of an inconvenience but once we’d found some free on street parking it wasn’t too much of an issue. Overall we had a really lovely stay and would definitely visit again!!!

  • The most lovely and comfortable space you can imagine. It was so clean, bright and fresh. It was super convenient to everything. If you need a spot to relax, this is it.

  • A cute, homely and well equipped cottage. Fuchsia cottage is a quirky place to stay and is within easy reach of local amenities and travel connections. We really enjoyed our stay here. Jess also allowed us to leave our luggage in the cottage prior to check in which was a help. Thank you.
