Upstairs there is a master twin bedroom (or super king double - please state which you need when booking) with adjacent shower room on the first floor. The large lounge/diner opens to a balcony and very well equipped kitchen are also on the first floor. An exterior door from the first floor leads out to steps that take you up to the garden (shared with the flat above) that is situated behind the property where the raised decking gives great views out over Porthmellon to Tresco and the islands of Tean and St Helens. • A beautiful stylish home with everything you need and more. A lot of thought has gone into the facilities and those extra touches that really make it more than just a holiday home.

  • Hattie's place is lovely and spacious, a ten minute stroll into town and a wonderful beach at the bottom of the road. Great communication. We hope to stay again.

  • Hatti's place is in a great location, only a few mins walk away from the town centre. Lovely house, plenty of room, we had a great time!

  • Lower Jacksons is a wonderful place to stay on St Marys, with great views and all the comforts of home. Stylish and comfortable with lots of extra touchers, e.g. blankets to keep you warm on the deck. Lower Jacksons was beautifully clean and very well equipped. we really appreciated all towels and basics of tea/coffee etc as it saved on luggage. We also loved being able to bring our dog and the great large hallway meant he could be clean and dry before going anywhere else in the house. We had an amazing Christmas stay here and can't wait to book again. Hattie was a great host who responded quickly and helpfully to questions - thank you Hattie

  • Absolutely superb house, a lot of thought, care and attention to detail ensuring our stay was comfortable.

    Michael2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures were great but even nicer than we expected, lovely living room, super bedrooms and a kitchen that had everything, even having a cup of tea out of the lovely mugs was a pleasure. The position could hardly be bettered as a base that is easily accessible for both airport, ferry and island hopping. Will come again!

  • Helen and Julien are warm and bubbly people who made every effort to make us feel welcome and comfortable. They offered us great recommendations and their love for the Scilly Isles is infectious. The room is spacious and spotlessly clean with big windows facing the bay. It’s a very short walk across the road to the beach and a few minutes on foot to the town centre.

    Bridget2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • A very pleasant, comfortable and spacious room with great views. Facilities clean and modern. A fridge and crockery provided for breakfast and other snacks, and not too far to walk to other shops/pubs/cafes in the town. Helen was very friendly and welcoming. I would certainly stay here again!

  • Steve and Louise are the perfect hosts. Lovely people. Everything about this rental is outstanding. There are not enough stars available to do it justice.

  • This is a lovely home, spotlessly clean, comfy bed, lovely to have our own private lounge. The hosts Louise and Steve are really friendly and willing to help in any way they can.

  • Lou and Steve were exceptionally friendly and accommodating hosts. They really pay attention to detail and try to make your stay as nice as possible. The rooms are very well equipped and absolutely clean. Highly recommend!

  • Louise’s house was absolutely immaculate, very spacious and there were 2 bathrooms! Sue and I really enjoyed our stay and were able to walk everywhere we needed to go, restaurants, galleries, the quay and of course all the beautiful beaches.

    Bob2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Louise and Steve are very kind and great hosts with an amazing home. The accommodation is in a great location, close to the harbour and shops. It is very spacious and clean. We had a great time, highly recommended.

    Susan2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, bright, modern bedroom and lounge, tastefully decorated and very comfortable Lou and Steve are very welcoming and helpful but also relaxed and leave guests to enjoy time on their own.

    Sophie2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Louise and steve are grest hosts. Louise emailed a few weeks pre stay asking us brekkie choices - colour of bread and types of milk ! That attention to details followed through - tea tray / details instructions in welcome pack, flexibility for check in times and bag pick up / drop off. We had two rooms, two beds. The main bedroom is a large double with split matress, and en suite sbower cubicle. Second room was sofa bed with thick matress on it. Wifi / netflix all great. Brekkie options, cereal, toast, juice, posh coffee and tea and fruit bowl. Nb - if you want self catering, this is not your venue . There isn't really a view or sundowner spot here, but close to 'the beach restaurant ' and not a bad walk to juliettes garden, if town boring you! Great clean, comfy and kind place to stay.

    MikeandSam2018-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is a wonderful, cosy space from which to explore St Agnes, peaceful and relaxing. It's a great kitchen to cook in, and the food from the farm shop next door is delicious. I had a restful, refreshing time walking the island and seeing the sights, then reading and relaxing in the cottage, and would definitely both return and highly recommend it to others!

  • Our stay at the cottage was wonderful. The location, the cottage itself, the family at Troy Town Farm. Sue and Tim were brilliant and helped us with everything from advice on the best cafe to try in St Mary's to working out tide times and how to get the best out of our stay on St Agnes. As first time visitors we didn't know what to expect, but we were absolutely blown away by the stunning wild beauty of St Agnes. it was everything we could have hoped for and more. Thank you to all the team at Troy Town (and everyone else we met on St Agnes). We had a wonderful time. PS: Make sure you order your milk, butter ice cream and clotted cream from the farm. It is literally the best you will ever taste.

Our canvas bell tents are perfect for an island adventure in the beautiful, unspoilt Isles of Scilly. Seconds from the beach & equipped with everything you need for camping, so you can just turn up, put the kettle on & relax with a spectacular view.
The campsite is right on the coast, with stunning sea views from every pitch. There is a beach adjacent to it, which is great for rockpooling, swimming, BBQs etc... The campsite is small and is made up of a few small fields with one central facilities building.
  • Troy town farm is a wonderful campsite and the bell tents are comfortable, with everything you need. The location and view is spectacular with seals and sea birds in the bay and on the rocks. We even swam in the crystal clear sea. San and Laura were very and all the staff were welcoming.

    Romilly2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, we were taken away by the views - every morning, sipping our tea looking out to the sea - very little will compare. We hired the bell tent and all the mod cons were included; camping gear, washing up stuff, a cool box and camping mattresses. The owners were very welcoming after the initial chaos of arriving at St Mary’s and not being sure where to go (they shout out which boat it is!). The ice cream in the farm shop is divine and the post office / local shop is well stocked, as is the local pub ;) it was wonderful and comes highly recommended. We can’t wait to return.

    Hattie2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • An outstanding location and very enjoyable long weekend in a Bell tent in spite of gale force winds and it being unseasonably cold. Amazing view from tent and we felt perfectly snug listening to the tempest outside! Magical when the sun comes out too.

    Oliver2019-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Laura and Sam have an exceptional place. We couldn’t have wished for a better holiday . They have looked after everything, even the weather! The facilities are fantastic, camping was a breeze. Already planning our next trip. The island is magical . Thankyou.

    Sallyann2018-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful escape from everything. A warm and friendly atmosphere and a location which betters anywhere that I have ever stayed.

    Kim2018-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • The bell tents at Troytown farm are incredible! Amazing location right on the coast of St Agnes, the tents face the sea and you will have an amazing view when you step out in the morning. All camping supplies, gas cooker etc, are provided for you and the home grown food from the farm shop is incredible. We had a lovely week there despite some dodgy weather and would thoroughly recommend Troytown farm

    Chris2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Troytown farm is everything and more that you could ask for in a campsite. Staying in the bell tent eliminated the need to travel with lots of additional camping equipment. The onsite facilities are superb with hot showers, laundry facilities, an area for washing and charger lockers for all your electronic devices. Everything is exceptionally clean and you can find your way around without any difficulty. The farm shop is convenient and has a lot of the things you need to make your stay more comfortable. The ice-cream and other farm produce is amazing (and you can buy ice-cream daily guilt free!). The island shop is a short walk away and has everything you need. Everyone on St. Agnes is so friendly and helpful. There is plenty of space on the campsite and it never feels crowded. The very scenic and historic coastline of St. Agnes starts at the edge of the campsite itself. Tim met us at the quay on St. Agnes, once we'd let Laura know what time we were expecting to arrive, and took our bags to the farm while we explored the coastline walking round to the campsite. I would recommend anyone to visit Troytown Farm, and you'd find the vast majority of those that would be camping along side you have been coming back for years. I can totally understand why.

Porthloo is a quiet hamlet on the coast about fifteen minutes walk from Hugh Town. Within five minutes walk there is a golf club, two restaurants (Juliet's Garden and The Beach) and a large usually sandy beach. Because Porthloo faces west across to the distinctive uninhabited island of Samson, we enjoy some of the most amazing sunset views on Scilly. Stroll a few yards onto Porthloo beach to capture these stunning images right on your doorstep! Less than 100 yards from our property is a large duck pond with a bench on a safe raised area. This is a a popular destination for just sitting, watching and feeding the varied assortment of ducks. A little further is the Rosehill Nature Walk tended by the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust with its wildlife hotel and wildlife pools, crab apple trees and elms (now very rare on the UK mainland due to Dutch Elm disease which failed to reach Scilly). The local Bat Group comes for organised walks to see and hear the bats that live around the trees of Rosehill.

Beautiful self contained apartment situated literally on the beach with stunning views over the harbour to the outlying islands. Located on the island of St Mary's and within walking distance to all shops, pubs and beaches. The perfect holiday spot
Location, location, location!! The Watch House sits on the sands of the harbour beach with stunning views looking over to the outlying islands. It is a 2 min walk to all shops, pubs and boat trips. Sit on the balcony and soak up the harbour.
The most beautiful and unspoilt group of islands that catch the edge of the gulf stream, turquoise waters and white beaches that are deserted! You can walk or cycle around the island or take a boat to one of the idyllic outlying islands. So peaceful and tranquil.
  • Location Location Location! What a fantastic position this flat is, especially if you have never visited the Scilly Isles before. It is in a perfect position to pop down to the quay to take boats for day trips to all the other islands. The flat has a spacious living area for our family of 5, beds were comfortable and kitchen well equipped. Ginny was excellent to communicate with and very accommodating. Thanks for a great stay, thoroughly recommend.

  • Watch House is in truly the most amazing location on Town beach, waking up each morning to have a view of the harbour and coffee on the balcony. Having flown out, we took the ferry home and walked to the ferry on the Quay in 5 minutes. Very comfortable flat furnished with everything you need and great communication with Ginny from beginning to end of our first stay in the Isles of Scilly. We’ll be back.

Situated in Old Town on the coastal path, we are yards from the beach and have spectacular sea views out to Pulpit Rock and Peninnis Head. We have one generous sized room with a comfortable super king sized bed (can be twin) and quality linens. The room is on the ground floor and has it's own private entrance. It is tastefully furnished to a high standard, has tea and coffee making facilities, a flat screen TV and hairdryer. There is a spacious ensuite and quality shower. Newly opened for 2016.
  • Very dear landlord! Great tips for trips, restaurants / cafes! Super accommodation, everything was spotless! There is nothing missing! Within walking distance, every point on the island is easy to reach! We would always book a stay at Nigel and Liz and recommend Porthenor B & B with a clear conscience!

  • My parents had a lovely stay for my fathers 70th Birthday. They had a wonderful few days exploring the island and had a great stay. Brilliant communication throughout. Thank you for making their holiday extra special

  • Nigel and Liz made us very welcome in a very clean and comfortable room. The house is beautifully situated overlooking a small bay, and every morning we were treated to a delicious breakfast while enjoying the lovely view from our table. Getting around the island is easy as there are very reasonably priced buses and taxis if the legs are not up to a bracing walk. We only managed to fit in a fraction of the suggested trips and visits as our week was entirely too short, so we will look forward to a return trip.

  • Great place to stay. The room was very comfortable, good size shower, able to make tea and coffee. Good hearty breakfast with great views. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend it and only 15mins walk from the airport. I promise you will NOT be disappointed.

  • Beautifull breakfastplace with a nice view over the old harbor

    Lutz2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay with Liz and Nigel. The location is stunning and ensuite room is comfortable and clean with a very big comfy bed. Liz and Nigel were the perfect hosts, providing a very filling cooked breakfast with toast, cereal, fruit etc every morning at 8.30 (9am on Sundays). They were also very helpful and knowledgable with info about the local area and useful tips about where to visit. The only thing we would recommend is better directions to b&b as we got slightly confused on our way there, but other than that we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend porthenor.

Beautiful 18th Century self-catering holiday home in the Isles of Scilly, Cornwall. Grade II listed building on the Garrison (skirted with old cannons in 16th C batteries) next to Hugh Town, St Mary’s, the Isles of Scilly’s most habited island.
Sleeping seven, it boasts a grand dining room (complete with life size porpoise caste by my granddad), spacious kitchen, elegant sitting room, and incredible sea views from all rooms. The perfect locale for a Winter stay-cation. Long walks on rocky foreshores, big seas and fresh wind, quiet beaches, crying gulls and clean sea air will reinvigorate you through and through. Coming into into the warm of a gorgeous Scilly pub to a pint and fish and chips, or back to your very own mansion house with warm AGA and coal fires, and dramatic sea views all around is absolute paradise. No better place to experience the winter in the UK in my opinion! Ground Floor - stately dining room with open hearth. Massive kitchen with AGA style cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, drier and seating for eight. First Floor - elegant sitting room with 160 degree sea views from the islands, Annet in the west to St Martins in the north east, with spectacular sunsets from March to October. Hearth for coal fire, double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and additional single bedroom. Second Floor - two light and spacious twin rooms with dormer windows on both north and south sides (capacity for a third bed in one). Bathroom, with separate toilet. There is an extensive library including natural history, archaeology, art and Scillionian local interest publications. WiFi, electric heating, towels and linen all provided in the price, although WiFi coverage is a little patchy and better in some areas of the house than others.
One of the finest locations on the islands, this historic house on the Garrison The islands provide for a huge range of leisure activities and are ideal for family holidays, romantic getaways, nature lovers or activity based breaks for anyone interested in sailing, swimming, diving, riding, birdwatching, walking etc. There is easy access to the world famous Tresco gardens by boat, a five minute walk up the hill takes you straight to the Star Castle Dungeon Bar and through the Garrison Arch into Hugh Town you will find a range of great restaurants. Other Activities: Touring the archipelago by boat, glass bottomed boat rides, swimming with seals, bird watching, shark fishing, yoga, art classes, galleries etc
  • I had a fantastic holiday in Newman House with my parents, husband and 9 month old baby. It is a very comfortable family home, with exceptionally good views over the sea and towards the other islands. The kitchen is well equipped, with a large table that you can eat at. There is also a separate dining room if you are a slightly larger party than we were. Upstairs, the sitting room has lovely sea views in two directions, over the garrison walls, and is a lovely place to sit. The main bedroom is very large, with a good en suite bathroom. There is also a single bedroom on the same floor. Upstairs, there are a further two twin bedrooms and another bathroom. All the rooms were very clean and tidy when we arrived. Throughout the house there are lots of books and lovely pictures and pieces of furniture. The house really feels like a much loved family home, and Anna and her family were so helpful and welcoming. The location of Newman House is perfect. In particular, it is close to the St Mary's quay, which makes it very easy to do a spot of island hopping. I really hope to come back to the Scillies soon - what a special place! - and I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.
