  • This place is amazing and our family loved everything about it. It was within 50 minute drive of a ton of great hikes/sites in the state or a walk away from a beautiful section of the buffalo. The location is fantastic and it was one of our favorite AirBNB experiences.

  • This is the perfect little get away spot! Our daughters loved being right on the square, able to walk to local shops while we sat on the front porch rocker. Heat and air work great! We really enjoyed our time here.

    Mandi2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! We loved that it was a stone’s throw from anything you’d need. I’d definitely recommend using this for a girl’s getaway, or a family stay, or any kind of party!

  • Great location. Dining options within a very short walk. Small town, but will everything you need close by. This is a really nice spot for a visit to the Jasper area and close to everything. Plenty of room for 2-6 people. Excellent layout. Larger groups should inquire about parking options.

  • Jeff’s place was the perfect getaway. It is near several great hiking trails and gives you lots of seclusion away from the rest of the world. Even when it was raining, it was great to be able to curl up and read inside the cabin.

    Avery2020-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the Haven for 3 nights with our 2 kids and 2 dogs. Jeff was a great host! Finding and checking into the Haven was simple. The cabin itself was in perfect shape. The personal touches like the s'mores were great! We didn't get to use them unfortunately due to a lot of rain while we were there. The cabin was within 20-40 min of every major hike we wanted to do. And only a 20 min drive into the adorable city of Jasper. We will definitely be coming back - well worth the drive from AZ! Thanks again Jeff!!

  • Great space!! Very clean! Great location. Comfy bed. We had a lovely time!

    Katrina2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at this beautiful cabin. It was the perfect home base for our hiking trip. We loved how we felt like we were still in the forest even inside. Easy access to Jasper and Ponca plus many Buffalo National River trailheads.

    Christina2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was an ideal place to stay while visiting the Grand Canyon of Arkansas. It was clean and everything you need to cook with. The bed was comfortable and the cabin very roomy.

Very quiet and private 1 bedroom cabin with seasonal views of the Little Buffalo River. Fully equipped kitchen. Access to beach and seasonal swimming hole. A perfect romantic getaway for couples. There is an additional sleeping area separate from the house if you wanted to bring an extra guest or two. Lotus Point is only 6 miles from Jasper. Close to many access points on the upper section of the Buffalo National River for fishing, floating, hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing.
The main cabin has 1 bedroom with queen bed, fully equipped kitchen, laundry and bath and sits on 9 acres of mostly wooded land. There is internet service and TV with Netflix, as well as a variety of board games and books available in the cozy living room for guests to enjoy. The deck overlooking the Little Buffalo River is great for just sitting and relaxing or barbecuing on the gas grill provided. There is a small bungalow that can sleep two additional guests should you decide to bring friends. It is detached from the house, and is perched on a bluff overlooking the river. It has a queen size bed, A/C and heater, bottled water and coffee maker are provided, however, there is NO bathroom or cooking facilities. It is just for sleeping. There is an additional fee for use of this space so please be sure to indicate if you wish to use the bungalow. There is a steep and narrow trail that leads down to the beach and swimming hole for those who are adventurous.
Jasper is a quiet quaint little town, usually bustling with tourists during the floating season in the Spring, hikers, rock climbers and motorcyclists in Spring and Fall. There are a couple arts and craft galleries in town and different festivals and events occur throughout the year such as Heritage Days and Elk Festival in Spring, the Bluegrass Festival in summer. As you wander around this little country town you will most likely encounter many interesting locals whose families go back many generations, as well as many "transplants" who have decided to make Newton County their home.
  • This was a beautiful place to stay and very peaceful.

  • BOOK LOTUS POINT! SUV required - BEST AirBNB this side of the Buffalo National River. Has everything, even extra batteries for the remotes. Very cool property and the trail isn't even that bad down to the best sandy beach on the Little Buffalo. Thanks again

    Josh2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Cabin was wonderful! Everything you need is supplied. Bed was super comfortable. Views were spectacular and the sound of the river was so soothing. A high clearance vehicle is needed as the dirt road has some rocks that would be dangerous to oil pans on vehicles that sit close to the ground. We hiked some amazing trails- Whittaker Point, Roundtop Mountain, Hemmed In Hollow, Kings Bluff and Pedestal Rock, Glory Hole and Triple Falls to name a few. Would definitely recommend a stay at Lotus Point if you’re in the Jasper area. Be sure and access only from Hwy 7 as low water crossing on Hwy 327 is currently impassable.

  • Amazing space in a beautiful setting!

    Rob2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lotus point was my first Airbnb and it set the bar so high! This place had everything you could ever need and more! I loved the visit from the neighbor dogs along with the wrap around porch, you can hear the little buffalo river running, and at night the stars are unbelievable! Highly highly recommend this place, it’s in a great location and a great size, thanks for an amazing stay!

    Lindsey2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay! My son and I go on a mother and son trip every year, and this year, it was Arkansas. This place was just lovely. I would highly recommend it! We were stuck inside most of our vacation because of the weather, but my son wasn’t upset one bit. Very peaceful!

New luxurious treetop cabin! This professionally decorated cabin combines luxury with rustic elegance. It is the ultimate spot to have an unforgettable family vacation. With beautiful decor, incredible views and other luxurious amenities your stay will be unforgettable!
  • We stayed in Red Rock Vista house and it was the most beautiful home and view we have seen in a long, long time. The amenities are impeccable (including a rain shower and heated floors in the bathroom) and the view is amazing. I am from Arkansas and have never been in the Jasper area - I am hooked and can't wait to return to one of Ben and Sharla's beautiful homes. The fragrance of warm brownies and beautiful music playing welcomed us as we walked in. Coffee on the deck at sunrise and wine on the deck in the evening with a fire going in the pit. Perfection! I can't say enough to give this property the kudos it deserves - HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Ben and Sharla, we can't wait to return and thank you for everything!

    Linda2020-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was the absolute best little weekend getaway for my husband and I. Ben and Sharla were so hospitable and provided a comfy, clean cabin for us with warm brownies upon our arrival. I only wish we could’ve stayed longer!

    Anna2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at one of Ben and Sharla’s cabins and it won’t be our last! It’s always a treat to come to Jasper. They got all the details right when they constructed these cabins. The landscape, the spa-esque bathroom, the large comfy bed... the list is infinite. Thanks again for the fantastic weekend away.

    Jennifer2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing cabin with great amenities and and an even better view. Highly recommended.

    Justin2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was a beautiful cabin in a great location just north of jasper

    Mary2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • There’s not enough space on here to say what I can say about this cabin! I’ll keep it brief for future travelers. Me and my husband love hiking and decided to spend our anniversary here. With that being said, the cabin, with its warm and cozy atmosphere, romantic bathroom with huge bathtub and heated floors, and the solitude of the cabin overlooking the valley, was the perfect combination for what felt like a honeymoon. We arrived to a very clean cabin AND freshly baked brownies, which we enjoyed with coffee each evening. Everything was incredible , beautiful, clean, and comfortable. We hiked the most incredible places all within an hour drive of the cabin. Hawksbill Crag, Lost Valley, Balanced Rock Falls, we couldn’t believe how well Arkansas hides these gems of places. We would absolutely return! The only tiny thing I could say (which honestly isn’t that big of a deal because we try to not spend our time watching tv) was that there’s only dish satellite available and not a smart tv or firestick or roku to be able to pull up your streaming applications. In case some of you may be wanting to binge on Netflix or if that’s a big deal to you I would suggest bringing a laptop. Maybe a smart tv in the future would be cool but this is the least of worries for such a wonderful place :) thank you both we loved it !!!

    Sabrina2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Ben, Sharla and the rest of their team worked hard to create an absolutely unforgettable space; from the moment you step out of your car toward the cabin, you’re in awe :-) The views, the space inside, the incredibly stylish accommodations, the thoughtful brownies and sweet note for us... they even kindly provided us with the quick-melt stuff to help us out on an icy morning..!! it’s just an amazing place and we very much how to be back; this was our “home” for four incredible days, and we are super thankful :-)

    Andrea2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Be sure to get up and watch the sunrise every morning you can, it’s incredible! The cabin was gorgeous and Ben and Sharla are welcoming hosts.

NEW OWNER - Please enjoy our discounted rates as we make improvements and upgrades tot the property. Cabin 3 is a mini-motel with three individual rooms. Rooms 3 and 4 each feature a queen size bed with a full bath. Rooms 3 and 4 share an interconnecting door and would be perfect for a family or couples traveling together who want their own privacy.
Enjoy the Scenic Beauty and Natural Wonders of the Ozark Mountain Region while staying in one of our Chalets or Cabins that offer all the comforts of home! Surrounded by Ozark Mountain beauty, we are close to the Buffalo National River with lots of hiking trails just minutes away. We're only about an hour from Branson and Eureka Springs - so see all the sites and shows, but return to Little Switzerland Chalets and Cabins to relax in the quiet peaceful beauty of Newton County.
The Little Switzerland homestead dates back to at least 1891 when two Swiss families settled at this site in Newton County and it has always been an "oasis" for travelers. In horse and buggy days travelers would stop to rest and fill their water barrels before continuing on their journey. It took three days to travel the 18 miles from Jasper to Harrison and Little Switzerland was always the first stop before heading out over the rugged mountain terrain.
  • We enjoyed our second stay at Little Switzerland as much as the first. Perfect location for enjoying all that Jasper and the Buffalo River area has to offer.

  • Cute little place, extremely clean, and comfy. A great spot to relax.

    Paula2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house was everything we needed! Mrs. Vicki knew it was for my mother’s birthday and even put a happy birthday wreath on the door. Everything was very clean and it was the perfect distance between trails and Branson! Loved the fireplace outside and well maintained road. We will definitely want to stay here again!

    Chelsea2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Vicki was quick to respond to messages. The place is clean and comfortable, and the location is great! My family of four enjoyed the weekend stay.

    Vera2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Vicki’s Cottage is perfect! Just the right amount of space for 4 people! Beds are very confortable, kitchen is fully stocked with all the cooking items needed, and the land is beautiful! Easy to get to Harrison for some shopping, the Ozarks for some hiking, and to Branson for some touring! We had a great time! Vicki is super helpful and very fast to respond! She helped us with everything we asked and more! She gave plenty of local tips of places to eat, things to do, etc. We loved it!

    Caleb2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was incredibly clean and we'll put together as a whole. It provided character and aesthetic which really showed the host's personality. To top it off is the location which is close enough for going on an adventure in every direction. It's a bargain of a place to stay if you plan on getting away from the constraints of everyday life in Arkansas.

    Jonathan2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We choose this place for a few primary reasons. It was affordable, had a kitchen and shower, and was a little over thirty minutes from Horseshoe Canyon Ranch, once you are comfortable driving a little faster on the twisty roads. There were four of us, two adults and two kids. The bunk beds were perfect for the kids and my wife and I slept on the pull out couch. It was super clean, lot so nice little touches to make it even easier to stay. We are rock climbers but my wife isn't a big fan of tent camping, so while you can rent cabins and Horseshoe Canyon Ranch, they can be booked, are more expensive, and you can't get a refund if the weather looks like it's going to be bad. It was about 40 minutes to the ranch the first time we drove and about 35 minutes each time after. We will most definitely use this place as our home base when we come down for extended climbing trips.

Enjoy this cozy cabin nestled in the heart of the Ozarks on a 100 acre farm and 3 acre fishing pond. The parks may be closed, but you can enjoy the great outdoors in the secluded ozark mountains in the privacy of our own farm. All the perks of a national park can be sought along with the joys of living on a farm. Watch granny milk each morning and enjoy the butter, eggs, and meat grown right here.
We also host Lost Valley View Cabin, and with over 40, 5 star reviews, we make customer service our priority!
This spot is located on what was the original county road from Clarksville to Carroll County. It has been a road since before the civil war. It is a county maintained road up to the Lily Pad, but it no longer goes down the mountain ending at Boxley Valley. It also borders Lost Valley State Park, you are actually above it, and you can feel free to hike into Lost Valley, from the front door.
  • Beautiful place with outstanding view. The cabin was clean and cozy.

    Jacob2020-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • So peaceful !! Such an awesome experience, our boys fished all day and loved watching Miss Connie milk her dairy cow in the morning. She was so kind. We also picked fresh eggs from the coop for breakfast. Very clean and inviting. We’ll come back soon for sure

    Rina2020-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is our favorite trip that we’ve ever taken. It was PERFECTLY clean and neat. It’s in a gorgeous spot and we were super close to our favorite hike to date at Lost Valley. I cannot day enough good things about it.

  • Nice quaint place in the heart of some nice hiking. It is on their property, nearby other cabins and an RV, but they showed us how to milk cows and we were able to purchase meat, eggs, and butter from them!

  • A very neat, cozy and comfortable place. Almost all the amenities listed were there and it made the trip even more helpful.. a quiet serene place that is aided by the wonderful hosts. • This place was an absolutely amazing find with breathtaking views! Ronald was incredibly helpful during our entire trip and the level of hospitality was through the roof. I would also like to add that his mother who lives up the road from the cabin, was an absolute blessing to us. She helped supply tools when our truck battery died and we had to change it out. We were also able to enjoy the delicious farm fresh eggs as well as fresh New York Strips that were mouth watering. My husband and I look forward to returning again some day! Thank you so much for an unforgettable stay!

  • We had a fantastic time at this cabin for our honeymoon! The driving instructions and check-in were a breeze. The cabin itself is a great size--not super small studios like most cabins. Lots of windows to enjoy the morning light or sunsets. The kitchen had MORE than enough cookware/utensils and even some spices. The TV & fireplace were super easy to use. The hot tub is amazing-- super relaxing & very clean. Overall, this cabin had more amenities and little touches than any cabin we have stayed in-- and was less expensive than most. We cannot wait to come again and enjoy more of the Buffalo River with this spot as home base.

    Morgan2020-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Hideaway cabin was so clean and was perfect with the view, hot tub, comfortable furniture, and fireplace. The hiking spots were great too. We had a great time.

We were able to hike the trails she recommended and after a long day’s hike, we loved soaking and relaxing in the hot tub! The amenities are grand and you will find a great selection of books, movies, and games to keep you busy a well. We loved her place and we highly recommend it to everyone!

  • Amazing getaway! Loved everything about it, and we will certainly be planning a return visit. Check out the hiking close by. So fun!

    Preston2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This space is amazing. WE loved the hot tub on the back deck, the grill, the fireplace, and the solitude. Lots of places to hike nearby. Couldn't have picked a better getaway for my wife and I.

  • My girlfriend and I recurved way more than expected. Everything was great had a wonderful time

    Wesley2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was absolutely everything we could have wanted. It was sparkling clean, the hot tub was AMAZING, we wished we were there longer! We ended up getting lost/delayed by about 30 minutes because we lost reception on the way out there, so I'd definitely recommend taking a screen shot of the directions! But once you reach the JB Trading Co it was really easy to find!

Misty Bluff is a two bedroom home that sits on the rim of the Arkansas Grand Canyon. Misty Bluff is perfect lodging to be near all the outdoor activities in the Jasper area, or to just sit and relax, and enjoy the scenery. It's the perfect setting for viewing the extraordinarily beautiful fall foliage. For water enthusiasts, the Buffalo National River is 13 miles down the mountain to Pruitt Landing.
  • Spectacular sunrises and overall location! A large, rustic cabin that can easily accommodate 4+ people. Previous reviewers mentioned how clean the cabin was; however, this was not the case when we arrived but plenty of cleaning supplies were provided. I recommend you bring your own linens & towels as the majority of those provided were worn out.

    Diana2020-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and amazing views!

    Chris2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • AMAZING VIEWS! The back deck opened right up into the Arkansas Grand Canyon which was beautiful during sunrise/sunset. Super close to a lot of really great hikes and wildlife. We made use of the grill out back as well as the heater downstairs which made the room super cozy. The jacuzzi tub was a wonderful addition and made for a perfect getaway weekend. Will definitely be back!

    Grace2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place with a spectacular view! We enjoyed our stay and Juergen made check in very easy.

    Austin2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • It was a beautiful home with a beautiful view. We spent the week of Christmas here and it was perfect. It is only a few minutes from a local grocery store, an hour away from the great shopping in Branson, and the views all over this area are incredible. The location is perfect. The views are amazing. I would definitely recommend staying here.

    Courtney2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Both my boyfriend and I were incredibly impressed by the cabin at Misty Bluff. We had a little bit of trouble finding the place, but Juergen was immensely responsive and helped us find the way in very little time. Upon our arrival, both of us were drawn to the incredible view; the pictures in the listing give you an idea of what to expect, but can't do the real thing justice. Perfect for watching the sunrise (and sunset) is a balcony off of the upper level of the home, accessed by a sliding glass door in the master bedroom (note: there are a few nails sticking out of the wood boards), in addition to a patio off the lower level's living space. Both provide a clear view of the mountains, especially since Juergen took the time to clear some of the surrounding trees. My favorite part, beyond the view, was the huge jacuzzi tub. It fits two people comfortably, a great feature for a romantic weekend. The rest of the cabin is pretty standard, but stands above other listings in that it's actually stocked with most of the things you'll need—a bar of soap and coffee being notable exceptions. Overall, Juergen's cabin at Misty Bluff is an exceptional choice for a couple or a group of friends, whether you plan to take advantage of the surrounding amenities or just relax for the weekend. Juergen is very friendly, super accommodating, and basically everything thing you'd want in an Airbnb host. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area, and I truly hope we find a good time to return in the future.

    Emma2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • When we arrived we were blown away by this beautiful place. The cabin is clean, spacious, unique and has beautiful decor. The views from the patio and bedroom windows are breathtaking. We have never seen so many stars at night and such gorgeous sunrises before! The cabin is close to highway 7 and easy to find but at the same time feels very secluded. The two big beds are comfortable and the accommodations are great for 4 people. There is a rollaway bed for the 5th person which would be probably ok for a young child but not comfortable for a teen/adult. The kitchen is stocked with pots and dishes in case you want to cook in the cabin. Juergen is a great host! He responded quickly and gave us helpful advices and suggestions regarding places to visit. We definitely recommend this place!!!

    Marina2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Misty Bluffs! The views from both balconies are absolutely incredible! The cabin was very clean and the amenities in the house were great to have during our stay. The location is also pretty close to Jasper, which has a quaint downtown. Plus, Ponca isn't too far of a drive either so there are many activities and things to do near by. We would definitely stay at Misty Bluffs again!

  • We absolutely loved this cabin. It was perfect for a new year’s getaway! Kitchen was stocked better than most cabins I’ve stayed in before and much appreciated (plenty of pots/pans, cutlery, place settings, etc.). The downstairs was way more spacious than we expected; this cabin has tons of space yet still feels cozy.

    Allison2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space with stunning views! It was a perfect place for us after long days of hiking. We loved the covered deck in the back and the fire pit in the front. Would definitely stay here again!

  • We loved this cabin! The view was gorgeous and we spent each night relaxing on the porch. The place had all of the amenities you could ask for.

    Amanda2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • So spacious but cozy. Much time was spent on the back deck just enjoying the breeze and birds. Even though it's obviously a place to get a way from it all, I have to mention the wifi is pretty speedy(we joked how a remote cabin has better internet service than ours at home) and my husband was able to work on one of his classes while there on the deck since there is a convenient outlet out there:) We only stayed a few nights but normally would have really taken advantage of the nice appliances in the kitchen. Thanks!

  • Nice and quiet! We booked for a weekend in the winter and it ended up being a snowy day, which was great. The cabin is close to trails and scenic drives if that’s what you’re looking for. The views from the back porch are great, too. My favorite part was the fireplace. Hansen is super nice and quick to respond to any questions! Make sure to stock up on snacks and fill up your gas tank if you’re unfamiliar with the area. Also, if you’re bringing dogs, keep in mind that some of the neighbors have their dogs running around, too!

    Taylor2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Hansen was a very kind and helpful host. The cabin is charming, well appointed and certainly off the beaten path. We enjoyed our time at the cabin so much we barely left but when we did, we were perfectly situated for hiking and outdoor adventures. Highly recommend this listing and will definitely be back.

  • Can’t wait to come back for another adventure! A still point offers an excellent location off the beaten path and was just what my wife and I (and our Shepherd) were looking for! This cozy mountain top cabin is located in the middle of the 10 acre pasture. The trailhead to Hemmed In Hollow waterfall is just across the property line. There is a great store on the highway for hiking gear and a short order kitchen. Enjoy beautiful views of rolling pastures, cattle and fireflies galore. Just 10 minutes from Buffalo river access in Ponca, 20 minutes from Harrison AR, and 50 minutes from Branson MO.
Central air and heat, simple linens, TV and DVD player. No wifi or cable.
The area here is country mountain living at it's best. The cabin is surrounded by rolling pastures, and quiet but friendly neighbors. Now we are 20 minutes from Harrison, AR. That's be closest town with a Walmart and restaurants. The store 1 mile away on the highway (JB trading Co) has a deli, short order cook, pizza station, groceries and hiking supplies.
  • This cabin has everything you could need for a simple, slow-paced getaway! A big perk is that it's right by hemmed in hollow, but unfortunately, it was closed while we were there... that didn't matter to us because staying in the cabin was just that nice! The views from the cabin are to die for, it has a nice deep porch, a deck with gorgeous panoramic views out back, and plenty of room to where we didn't at all feel cramped, as well as creature comforts like a washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, full stove... There's no internet, but you won't need it! The downstairs bed is also probably the most comfortable bed I've slept in at an AirBNB, so major props there! Overall, staying here was an amazing experience and I would love to return!

  • This cabin is absolutely the cutest thing ever, highly recommend staying here while hiking or floating the Buffalo River!! Truly amazing super close to some wonderful trails!

  • My boyfriend and I wanted to find a nice place to stay near hiking trails and Holly’s Cabin was perfect. The kitchen is amazing and there were great amenities. The cabin is less than a mile from Hemmed in Hollows trailhead. JB’s trading post which is about a mile away had great breakfast and every basic necessity you need. We will definitely be staying here again! If you are looking to find a place in a remote area with natural beauty and places to hike, then Holly’s Cabin is the place for you.

    Kaila2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was cozy, clean and the outside was well kept. cabin sits on 10 acres Breathtaking!

    Deborah2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was such a perfect place to relax and use as a hiking hub. It's right next to the Hemmended in the Hollows trail (you could walk from the cabin if you wanted) and just a few miles from Centerpoint trail and a few others. The little camp store, on the main road, JB's is closed on Sundays but has great breakfast egg biscuits and has little flyers on each of the area trails (also is a gas station). There's another camp store in Ponca but in general, you're best off arriving in the area with groceries if you plan to cook at all or if you want certain things for breakfast or lunch. We enjoyed the sandwiches at the Buffalo Outdoor Center in Ponca for lunch both days but then drove to Harrison (the next bigger town over) for dinner one night. The cabin itself is super comfy. There's a back porch on the second floor that is perfect for watching the sunset. There's plenty of hot water for showers. The king size bed downstairs was great and so were the couch and big armchair for reading and watching DVDs at night. There is also coffee and hot chocolate available. There's no wifi (which was a nice way to unplug from work) but our Verizon phones did fine with reception from the cabin. It's a perfect escape in back country Arkansas and we would stay here again in a heartbeat if the opportunity presents itself!!!

    Adrienne2020-03-03T00:00:00Z

    TomHenry2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Bunkhouse met our needs very well as my son and I used it as a home base while we spent the weekend hiking different spots in the area. Regrettably, we didn't actually meet the owner. We have heard such nice things about her. I can say she offers a nice, basic place. It's just about what the name implies. No frills. It is very clean however. All the basics are provided plus some nice extras. We did appreciate the location close to town, too. Would recommend this for a family, a few guys, or a few women who are in the area for any of the nearby activities.

  • Thelma’s place was exactly what we needed to enjoy a group trip! Wonderful porch area to sit outside and enjoy a meal outside. Great kitchen area to cook and sit around inside when it was too cold outside. The place was clean when we arrived and easy to find. Right next to downtown Jasper and a short drive from Horseshoe canyon ranch.

  • Spectacular! That's the best word to describe the experience that Joseph provides. The drive is spectacular. The view from the cabin is spectacular. The A-shaped cabin was perfectly clean with every little detail executed well. The hot tub was amazing under the stars with the smell of grilled food wafting off the back deck. The downstairs room has French doors that open onto the firepit area. It also made for a great view in the morning. I could go on and on about the many wonderful and unexpected touches that made my stay wonderful. Thank you Joseph!

    Samantha2020-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Joseph and Sara are great hosts who are there for you through out your stay. They have a nice welcome folder with local tips to make your stay even better as well as all the comforts of home for you to use during your stay. My husband and I had a very peaceful, relaxing time and would recommend the experience to all! 😊

    Bethany2020-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the A-frame was outstanding! The A-frame is very comfortable, has a lot of nice little details and is architecturally very nicely done! It is a perfect location to explore the beauties of the Buffalo National River from. And after a day Of exploring, the hot tub, fire-pit and grill are the icing on the cake! In addition, Joseph was a wonderful host, quickly answering questions and giving good advice on what to do in the area. Highly recommended!

    Bas2020-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish cabin with great amenities. You can stay in the hot tub and look up at the stars at night and cook great meals. It is close to a small store and about 25-30 mins to Harrison! About 30 mins to most hiking trails in the area! The propane grill is also nice!

  • Cabin was great! You have privacy in a beautiful area. Still close to local grocery stores and great hikes. It was a beautiful stay!

  • My husband and I had a great stay at this cabin! Unfortunately we were there while all the trails and river access along the buffalo river were closed. But, the owner gave us suggestions of other trails around the area that were still open and they were beautiful! He helped out a lot and really saved our trip! The cabin was perfect for us and i would definitely recommend it!

  • This is a beautiful cabin in the woods with everything you need. Loved the fire pit, fireplace and fabulous night sky ( look for the Milky Way)! The driveway would be very difficult for a motorcycle (we were on a 3-wheel Harley and it was challenging). Be sure to go: to Jasper for the Ozark Cafe and Emma’s Museum of Junk, see the elk in Boxley Valley and go to Eureka Springs.

    Leslie2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect cabin nestled in the woods away from it all. Very well stocked with everything you could need. Clint was a gracious host (even when he had to come open the door when we couldn’t figure it out). Haha Look forward to coming back again soon.

  • This was a much needed relaxation trip with an amazing hot tub and view of the Buffalo River wilderness. The cabin is perfectly perched to give an incredible view of the Little Buffalo river and surrounding rolling hillsides. It had everything we could want to enjoy a relaxing and much needed holiday getaway, and was very comfortable, clean, and spacious. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip into Jasper to eat breakfast at the Blue Mountain Bakery & Cafe, and visit Emma’s Museum of Junk. We will most certainly be back!!

The American Buffalo is a cozy 3 bedroom 1.5 bath with a jacuzzi tub. We offer a private swimming hole on the Little Buffalo. Amazing View from the deck!
  • Dessa’s cabin is for glamping like a royal. It is perfection set among nature’s awesome views. The fire pit, with promises of s’mores, seduced our two city children (and their parents) into the edge of the woods each evening. What a perfect touch to supply unbreakable stemware and a bottle of my favorite Prosecco! The cookware allowed us to create every meal and slip away from civilization. In the morning over coffee, two enormous whitetail deer dances unknowingly to their delighted audience. The kids, who usually are afraid to sleep far from us, willingly and excitedly slept upstairs and gave us the giant bed downstairs to ourselves. We all felt at peace in Dessa’s majestic palace on the hill. Dessa went out of her way to communicate and make us feel at home. It was a pleasure.

    Kristen2020-03-18T00:00:00Z

    John2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to stay! Great location, very centralized for hiking or floating. Very clean and was exactly as was advertised. Very impressed, and would highly recommend staying here!

    Tristan2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is really nice. It’s just down the street from downtown Jasper so it’s very convenient. We came in the summer so unfortunately the river was too low to float in Jasper, we had to drive about 45 minutes to St Joe to find a floatable part of the Buffalo. It was still worth it, but something to consider. Check the river levels. The beds were super comfy and the view and privacy felt great at this spot. The road to get up to the cabin is a little rough, but should be doable for most cars. I am definitely looking forward to coming here again.

Charming country home, filled with light and comfort, located on the banks of the Little Buffalo River. Mountains, forest, and two waterways combine with natural landscaping to create a peaceful, natural setting! Located near Jasper, Arkansas and the Buffalo National River.
Beautiful, "quirky" home in the wooded mountains, along the Little Buffalo River, with access to hundreds of acres of hiking trails. Property borders the Ozark National Forest. Swimming in the river or creek is a bonus! Please note that we are "off-road". There's about 6 miles of dirt road to get here. AWD or 4WD not required, but it can be handy!
This is the quiet rural mountain community of Murray, population 38. Located in beautiful Newton County, Arkansas! Neighbors are friendly, but keep to themselves.
  • This place is a nature lover's dream! There are many porches to listen to the convergence of two creeks/rivers and watching wildlife. The house is cozy and quaint with entertainment rather it be with a book, board game or movie. It also has wifi for when you want to search an interesting fact about the area or plan out your day's travel. The host are very helpful and thoughtful! I highly recommend this getaway to anyone!

    Brian2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • The property is just beautiful! It is closer to the water than I imagined, which we loved. It is definitely off the grid....which is exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed hiking the white loop trail right on the property. Many beautiful views on this hike but you do have to cross the creek several times, so bring waterproof boots or prepare to take your shoes off a lot! The house is cozy and clean and had everything we needed. Truly a piece of heaven. We will return.

    Beth2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Creek's End is a wonderful place to stay. A very secluded spot in the beautiful Ozarks. We loved the sound of the Little Buffalo River right beside the house. The home is roomy and cozy, just what we needed. We enjoyed hiking the trails when we were unable to cross the river because of high water (4-wheel drive or a pickup truck are not required, but we were reluctant to cross the high water in our SUV). I do recommend that you bring waterproof boots if you want to enjoy the experience even more! All in all, we loved Annie and Suzy's house and hope to visit again. Even better--it's their mom's house, so it has a great family feel to it. Loved our time there!

    Jan2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Creek's End was perfect! We felt at home as soon as we walked in the house. The house was clean and the hosts provided every amenity we could possibly need. Notes left around the house and the fresh cookies were added bonuses. The kitchen was our favorite spot but the decks with views of the creek and river were great as well. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful, remote location, you will be hard pressed to find somewhere as unique and beautiful as Creek's End.

    Deborah2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Way out in the woods as we hoped plus nicely furnished, super clean, everything you need is there, and the beauty outside is matched by original works of art inside.

    Wayne2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is like a fairytale! If you are looking to truly get away and unplug, this is the perfect place! We loved being right on the creek and hearing the water while we sat outside and drank our coffee. The homemade cookies that were waiting on us when we arrived were amazing! We love this area. We come here to hike and soak up the beautiful scenery that Newton County has to offer. We are already planning a return trip.

    Tiffany2019-09-29T00:00:00Z

  • Great porch to sit on and decompress after a day of climbing at the Ranch. Quiet and secluded in the woods.

    Levi2020-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Used this cabin as a home base during a climbing trip to Horseshoe Canyon. It was perfectly located, just a few miles away with the comforts of home. The size was good for us (a couple) and could easily sleep a family. On non climbing days we hung out on the porch. There is a super friendly cat to hang out with and horses on the property.

    Sarah2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place had everything we needed and more. The kitchen was extremely well stocked for cooking just about anything. The house was very private and quiet. The cat and horses on the property added some entertainment and a home-like feel. The location was perfect for some great hikes in the Buffalo National River area.

    Michelle2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay. Cynthia was awesome. The large windows allowed us to have a perfect view when it was too cold to go outside or when it was raining since the weather wasn't cooperating with us this trip. Watching the birds and squirrels while eating breakfast was fun. The location was perfect - close to all the places and things we like to do when in the area. Everyone comments on the cat and horses for good reason - they make your stay extra special. We had our dog with us and they all got along great. We definitely plan to stay here again during our next trip.

    Tracy2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • House is in a really nice quiet area. It was cool to be able to pet the horses and the friendly cat that roamed the area. I would recommend for someone looking for a nice place to stay while exploring the Buffalo or HCR. 3 mile drive from HCR.

  • Cynthia has a great cabin in the woods with everything you need to make it your home away from home. Location to Jasper and numerous outdoor activities was perfect. The horses outback and the loving kitty was a pleasant surprise. You won't be disappointed!!!

Big Oak Cabin is a split-level, 2 bedroom, 2 bath house, with 2 separate living rooms. Situated on 5 acres high in the Ozarks, the house is much larger than it looks from the picture, with a large front porch and west-facing rear deck overlooking a pond and splendid sunsets. Only a few miles from the Buffalo River and hiking trails, half a mile from Cliff House Restaurant and five miles south of the quaint town of Jasper. Conveniently located on Hwy 7, Big Oak is a place of quiet Ozark peace.
One of the best features of our home is, the upstairs / downstairs split, for privacy. Two couples can rent the home and both have their own space, their own bathroom with shower. The kitchen is on the lower level, which stays nicely ground-cooled by earth in the warm months and warm in winter months by the same, but you have your own distinct living areas. Each level also has its own outdoor sitting / viewing areas. WiFi works everywhere throughout the house and from both upstairs and downstairs deck.
The hugely popular and scenic Cliff House Restaurant is only 3/4 of a mile south of Big Oak Cabin! The whole town of Jasper is at your fingertips, 5 miles north on Hwy 7, which only takes a 7 minute drive. Scenic Point is 2 miles away, the most splendid highway viewpoint in all the Ozarks. Every time you step in your car at Big Oak Cabin you'll be seeing spectacular viewpoints within seconds.

Windings Stairs Retreat is located within 1 mile of the Boxley Valley and Buffalo National River and borders the National Park Service. There are no immediate neighbors and the view from the back porch is AMAZING! Elk frequent the area and are occasionally seen from the porches. Access is easy as the cabin is located only a few hundred yards from highway 21, but far enough away that you can’t see the road.
A great place for a couples retreat or a family vacation! The master bedroom is an open loft with a king sized bed and has its own private bathroom. There is a corner jacuzzi style tub (no jets) in the room with a large window that encompasses the view from the back. It’s the perfect place to unwind and watch the sunset! Both the master bedroom and the living area have a Roku tv along with a Netflix subscription. Outside the cabin, wrap around porches provide plenty of outdoor sitting or room for the kids to play. The front yard holds a small fire pit which is great for sharing stories and making s’mores! We are currently working on a much larger pit in the back yard! Renters should note that we keep two outside cats (mousers) on the property for rodent control. The cabin is surrounded by woods and without them we would have too many unwanted guests!!!
The cabin is centrally located in the Boxley area. Ponca and Kingston are both less than 10 minutes away where you can grab gas or a snack. Lost Valley, Hawksbill Crag, Ponca low water bridge, and Steele Creek are only a short drive! If you love to hunt, fish, float or hike, or simply need to get away, this is the place to do it!!!
  • If you are wanting to escape the every day normalcy and relax into a secluded oasis, this is the place to go

  • If you’re Thinking about booking this place, do it now! So much fun for the family, all of all ages. We brought along our two year old and nine month old. I’m not sure who enjoyed it more, us or them! We enjoyed all of our meals on the picnic table facing the view, roasted marshmallows, took many trips around the wrap around porch in their wagon, and admired all of the beautiful flowers planted. Our daughter loved feeding the kittens!! Nathan and Maggie were fantastic hosts! We received a hand written note, chocolates, and wine! (The perfect mom combo!!). We got a little turned around on the Way, and they were very quick to respond to messages with precise directions. Fully equipped kitchen, sparkling clean, travel information, and Netflix for down time. You will not be disappointed by booking here— perfect place to unwind and enjoy your family. We will most definitely be back!!

  • Wonderful cabin. Picturesque setting. Spacious, clean, and in a great location for Buffalo River activities. Bathrooms and kitchen were very well stocked. We had no problems at all with the road/driveway that a few others mentioned in reviews. Owner lives nearby and is available to answer any questions or address concerns.

    Angie2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place. It was roomy, clean, in a very quiet location. Jim was a top notch host. Can be a bit hard to find in the dark but, if you follow coordinates in the profile, it will take you right to the cabin.

    Eve2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This space was fantastic. The A frame is really fun. The place was spotless and the kitchen and grill were just what I was looking for.

    Clint2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great location & great hospitality! When we first arrived in Harrison, our GPS sent us on a wild goose chase out in the boonies of Arkansas. Jim promptly called me & carefully walked me through step by step how to get to the cabin. He didn’t hang up until he knew we had reached the drive way & we really appreciated it! The main highway that Murray road is off of is under construction until May so it’s very easy to miss the turn as there are no road signs. We found it best to type in 65 & Murray Road to get us to where we needed to be! The cabin was far enough away from light pollution that we had a completely black sky full of stars! Just a quick 15 minute drive to restaurants and Walmart - 35 minutes to Jasper to some great hiking! We can’t wait to come back with our friends & family and explore more hiking the area has to offer. This cabin can easily sleep 7 people with room to not feel cramped! We loved it!

  • My sister and I decided to take a small weekend trip. This cabin is just what we needed! Its absolutely beautiful! Jim was very friendly and helped us with any questions we had. I highly recommend this stay if you are looking for a quiet getaway.
