This is an incredible apt sorrounded by various iconic buildings that are starting to be develop and refurbish thus the neighborhood is getting better little by little. The owners made and incredible job in this apt and the host is amazing, always there for help and guidance. Joburg is a city that is still overcoming its history and this place helps you get that feeling pretty well. There is supermarket and liquior store at walking distance but be aware that is close on weekends. Is a very easy acces to all the major sightseeing places when renting a car (highly suggested).

The place looks exactly as pictured online. Very modern and stylish space located within minutes of everything we wanted to see. Accessible to Uber with a few shops/grocery stores within walking distance. The rooftop was very nice with beautiful views of the city. We felt very safe and secure while in the home and we had everything we needed. The host was responsive and answered all our questions in a timely manner. I would definitely stay here again.

Steve’s place is in one of the coolest places in a Johannesburg. The place offers amenities that I never encounter in other Airbnb’s. Like Amazon Alexa, PlayStation, etc. furthermore, there’s anything else you need for a comfortable stay. I’ll definitely go there again when I have to visit joburg. Please note that “Alexa, please kill the mosquito“ doesn’t work yet. Mosquitoes are still far superior to AI ;-)

Steven's home is delightful. He was a comfortable home with fast internet, a good workspace and well kitted out for your cooking pleasure. Would definitely recommend it.

Steve’s space is the ideal place to stay if you’re looking for somewhere within walking distance to all of Melville’s great restaurants etc. He was also thoughtful enough to pass on some tips about places in the area. Great stay, would definitely recommend!

It is a super spot for a business stay. Quiet. Steven was really help and accommodating with my late arrival and early departure. I hope I will have a longer stay the next time.

This place is in a great location, only minutes walk to tons of restaurants and shops in Melville. Only wish I’d had longer to stay.

He made Joburg feel more welcoming and was always available without being intrusive. His cottage offers travellers as calm a respite as they might. The small touches add to the charm of the stay with things like a fully automated electronic system run via an amazon echo speaker. Highly recommended.

Comfortable and clean place. It is located in a very busy neighborhood, with several places with good food, however, it makes a lot of noise at night. Very good place.

If it’s your first time in Johannesburg, come to this place. It’s located within walking distance next to various restaurants and clothing stores. It’s a trendy, artsy looking area with street vendors selling all types of jewelry and merchandise. If you’re from a major city like NYC, Washington DC, etc, you’ll feel right at home.

The place was neat, a perfect spot with a lot of hanging out places nearby. For the two nights, we stayed there. We dined at Pata Pata downstairs the food was nice, there was a live performing band on Saturday, it was really lovely we enjoyed and loved every moment of our stay. Keagan and his mom were very helpful whenever we needed them and very quick with responses..arranged parking upstairs with security and it was safe..check-in was also easy. We’re definitely coming back. Thank you.🌻

Great choice for your stay in joburg

Wow what an incredible place just as all the other reviews describe, Candace s home is spectacular! The beautifully kept garden also overlooks a river where you can walk and enjoy the feeling of being in the countryside. The bed in the master bedroom is super comfy probably one of our best nights sleep of our trip. Thank you also to Precious for making our stay really easy.

5 star ‘hotel quality’ stay!

One of the most pleasant stays I'veenjoyed in a long while. The place is beautiful and Isabell was more than welcoming and accommodating. 5 stars all round.

What a gem of a place! Felt like home away from home, was met with a warm friendly welcome. Isabell went above and beyond and thought of little added details and toiletries should you have forgotten yours. Will definitely be back again.

The apartment is lovely and our host Dylne was very responsive and friendly. Nice little balcony to get some fresh air. Initial communication (before arrival) was somewhat confusing when I heard from 3 different people (Ade, Prescilla, Dylne). We were strongly advised not to walk around the neighborhood, even in the day, wish we had known that in advance. Also, while we were there, "power shedding" occurred, where power is off for a few hours. Of course host cannot control this, but would have been nice to know. (Apartment is on the 8th floor and elevators don't operate during power shedding.)

Excellent apartment in the CBD. We were only there to sleep before leaving very early for Kruger, but the space was great. Wish we could have enjoyed it more.

The flat is very nicely done and comfortable too. Communication was easy and our hosts really accommodated our needs. The location is the best part, there's so much just outside the front door! Throughly recommended.

The penthouse above Maboneng is amazing ! I was blown away at how big, stylish, the views, the bed, the bath was incredible. The whole place is just so great and cool. And the building is full of art and the street full of amazing bars and restaurants! Loved it I’ll be back.

Beautiful apartment!

Magnificent penthouse in the middle of Maboneng! Very well equipped! Only small remark, quite noisy until almost 4 am with the bar at the bottom of the building.

This apartment is so stylish, luxurious and an amazing base for exploring Johannesburg. We felt very secure with 24 hr security, and loved stepping out to Maboneng on our doorstep. We stayed over a weekend and it's worth noting that the hustle and bustle can be loud, but to be expected!

Both Alexa and Hannie were great hosts who responded quickly, so booking, check-in and check-out were really easy. I dealt with Hannie in person as she lives in the same complex as the apartment, and she was really sweet and accommodating. The apartment itself was exactly as advertised and really clean and comfortable. All the basic amenities were provided and the WiFi was fast. Despite being in a bit of an industrial area, I felt safe in the apartment and had no issues whatsoever. I would definitely stay here again

Excellent place. Spacious, very nice balcony with a view, and the located right at the bus stop. The host was also extremely accommodating. Highly recommended.

The place is a couple of streets away from the hustle an bustle of Fox street, which, although great, can get overwhelming at times. The kitchen was fully equipped, you just need to buy a few groceries for your stay and you'll be set. I was VERY happy with the Wi-Fi, gave me no problems at all, just ask Keagan and Earl for the password before arriving. Dealt entirely with the doorman who was very helpful both during checkin/out and when directing me around the neighborhood - always ask for guidance, certain parts of Maboneng require extra care. Thanks to my hosts, who were quick to respond and were always a message away, for the great stay.

The place is lovely. What was extra great was that there a lot of restaurants within walking distance. Even walking home late at night didn't feel scary. The place was amazing, very relaxing. The hosts are so great, everything is communicated in advance. They gave us our space but at the same time you know that they'll be there to answer any questions you have. Definitely worth it.

Ebony’s place is clean , very stylish and is inside a very safe and secure building . There is a pool on the roof and it’s amazing as not everyone is allowed up there . Would def recommend this place to anyone . PS take an Uber wherever you’re going .

The apartment is great, with everything you need and a comfortable balcony for the evenings or warmer days. Moreover it is very beautiful with an industrial look. It is one street from maboneng's main restaurants and bars and the place is very safe (we come back several nights late at night). The watchmen are always there and are attentive and solicitous. The place is also easy to walk to downtown or to get an uber to other places.

Great! Homey, safe and well-located in the hippest corner of Joburg. Only partial-drawback is that it may be a bit loud at night because of the surrounding clubs, but if you're into that scene shouldn't be a problem.

Judith and her place are just wonderful, perfect for a trip to Johannesburg and a lovely area too. Judith was quick at replying and catered to our needs! Perfect place and host.

Loved this place!! Host and his staff were so helpful. Especially when trying to figure things out in the room. Room had Netflix which made my stay...I could catch up on shows:) Also, Nespresso machine!!☕️ Everything was clean and tidy and staff come through in the morning to clean. The area around was one of my favorite things aswel, lots to do at night, there’s a great Mexican restaurant, independent theater was at bottom floor of building😀

Andrea’s home has EVERYTHING that you need for a business trip - a space studio with a large comfy bed, excellent WiFi, a large screen tv, coffee machine, sparkly clean bathroom and there was even a bottle of wine thrown in! Andrea and her family are excellent hosts and couldn’t have been more accommodating. Felt right at home.

I can definitely recommend Jared and Jovana’s room. It was clean, cosy and close to one of the great restaurant streets in Melville. Patty is also a lovely lady💛and the outside flowers smelled so nice and it is quiet and calm and the dogs...are so sweet:) location wise we also used Uber which works well and our own car was able to stay inside as well. That’s it! And if you book a tour In Soweto Mpumi and Molefe are the best! Thank you!

Very cozy place, fully furnished. Due to the Johannesburg power outage, the entrance keypad was not working but Jovana stayed awake late for us, which we appreciated a lot.

We spent five nights at Jovana & Jareds tree top apartment. We had a great time as the apartment is very well situated in a very safe and hip area (lots of bars, restaurants, cafés). The apartment itself has a good price for value and is perfect for couples.

A great little space for a night or two in town. Enjoyed a comedy show and a great dinner just down the road! Would definitely recommend!

Barkston Cottage is a lovely & cosy space, close to almost everything & it's peaceful & neat. The Netflix & DStv were perfect to pass the time with. The hosts were attentive & very forthcoming with info & so kind. I can't wait to come back again! I totally recommend 😍

Really nice apartment in the main street of Maboneng. Communication with the host is really good and check-in very easy and safe. Asiphes place is just an experience. The whole neighborhood is a mood. If you want the main city vibe of Johannesburg, Asiphes place is your location (Maboneng). Security is top notch. Our room was very spacious with sliding doors opening up onto a beautiful private patio. However, the bed is very uncomfortable and there is no mirror in the room to use for doing hair and make-up. Well located, clean, very safe and exceptional quick responses from our host Phillip.

This is one of my greatest recent finds in the Melville vicinity and everything about Phillip's house bowled me over. I was also impressed by how spacious the room I booked in was, which is a great deal and bargain compared to the money I paid. Phillip and his staff were equally gracious and super courteous, making my stay extra comfortable and enjoyable. I look forward to more bookings at this tranquil gem.

John's place is as it's named - a perfect stay near J'burg. Cozy restaurants and cafes very closely located. My arrival was smooth, the place is very clean, beautiful room flooded with sunshine and a private pool seen from the window. I also enjoyed very much the roobois tea they provided. John is very informative about the area and overall traveling in SA. I couldn't recommend more staying with this place.

I had such a lovely stay at John and Debbie's cottage - it was exactly as presented in the pictures. The place is within walking distance to all the cafes and restaurants in Melville - a perfect spot! Their garden was beautiful and with lots of little spaces for some relaxed reading and chill! This house is a cozy shelter surrounded by lush greenery! Philip and Hence provided us everyday cleanings and breakfast, which is not usual for an Airbnb accomodation. I absolutely loved and enjoyed every second of my stay! Minda welcomed me whole heartedly. It is safely located with great security measures. The room and bathroom is beautiful and very clean. Minda gave me a bunch of places to visit. The house is very central which enables you to visit alot of places. A little shopping centre is right around the corner. The little details she added to the room makes it so much more special. It is the perfect place to stay long term and it truely feels asif you are escaping the city. Plus, there is an owl and other spectacular bird species. I am definitely going to visit again. Even if it's just for a weekend getaway.

A stylist 2 bed 2 bath apartment located in the safe and hip area, Rosebank. The apartment is located steps away from shopping malls, train station, and supermarkets. The property itself is beautiful and comfortable, everything you need would’ve been provided by the host. Can’t ask for a better airbnb experience!

Fantastic apartment. Cant fault the location, lovely apartment, host or anything. Had 5 great nights there whilst watching England play SA at cricket. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone

This apartment was exactly what I wanted...spotless, stylish, every amenity I could need, and perfectly located for everything I could need. Shops, coffee spots all within walking distance. I've been to Jo'burg once before. I'll surely stay in this apt again when I return.

The host was great and communication skills are on point plus the wifi is very fast which helped me with doing assisgnments.

If you need a feel of Johannesburg, with the buzz of the City, then this is the place for you. It's everything I needed for a weekend. I wanted to be able to walk home at 2am after a night out. When I got there, I loved it. Stood on the balcony had a beer and took in the feel of the city. Restaurants are literally just a walk away and 3 rooftob restaurants/ bars are literally down the road. This is the perfect place to be for a summer in Jozi. Definitely going back.

A great space in a very cool location. There are a ton of great restaurants in the area and it has easy access to the highway. The internet was great as well. Two great restaurants to try are Mama Mexicana and Ravioli.
