“AFURI ramen is different from ramen you’ve had elsewhere. It’s lighter, refreshing—even a little delicate. We’re particular about all our ingredients—but there’s one ingredient in particular that makes AFURI ramen special. We make our signature ramen with yuzu, a small yellow citrus fruit native to Asia. We splash it in our fresh chicken broth and we garnish it on top, too. It adds a touch of freshness to our ramen and pairs perfectly with our broth and charcoal-grilled pork. We think of it as a thoughtful, refreshing update on everything that makes ramen so great.”

“Gyōza (dumplings) are the only thing on the menu here, but you won’t hear any complaints from the regulars who queue up to get their fix. Have them sui (boiled) or yaki (pan-fried), with or without niniku (garlic) or nira (chives) – they’re all delicious. Expect to wait on weekends. ”

“Although it has a fantastic view, the restaurant is not a luxurious type but rather a popular restaurant for the general public. It became a news when former prime minister Koizumi took president Bush to this restaurant in Ginza. The restaurant offers sushi, but more in a style of izakaya, so you get to also try many Japanese style dish. There also is a restaurant under the same name adjoining this sushi restaurant, offering Yakitori. ”

Seafood Restaurant

“It’s based on the basic virtues of good, hearty food — including plenty of excellent seafood, shipped direct from the fishing ports of Nishi-Izu — plus a fine selection of sake and shochu. The fully bilingual menu is a major plus for the foreign community, and everyone loves the very reasonable prices.”
