Route
“Walk on in Edmonds and ride across Puget Sound to Kingston and back. Make sure you park in Edmonds in a zone that allows parking when you need it. Great views of the Peninsula and waterways and wildlife along the way. Shipping lanes are often busy with pleasure boats sailing or fishing, commercial shipping and regularly scheduled Cruise Ships going to or returning from Alaska. ”

“Family-run roastery in the PNW. Great coffee and espresso drinks! They sell our Farm Kitchen baked goods along with other breakfast and lunch items! It's located right at the ferry and the marina so you have some great views of the water and boats. Their location makes it easy to grab a coffee and snack on your way to the ferry. There are also some nice places to sit and enjoy your coffee on benches nearby if you aren't in a hurry. ”

Locality
“Kingston is a quaint, pioneer village on Puget Sound with present-day conveniences and accommodations. It is immediately adjacent to the Port of Kingston which has a modern marina. Kingston is connected to the "outside world" in many ways, first by two facets of ferry service: (a) Washington State Ferries, which has large, ship-size ferries...walk-on, bike-on, or drive-on (up to and including 18-wheeler big trucks), and (b) Kitsap Transit "Fast Ferry" which is walk-on-only yet offers its own signature schedule and routing. The ferries are actually an extension of Washington State Hwy 104. You can also drive here, without ferry, around the southern end of Puget Sound through Tacoma and Bremerton. The third immediate access is by private watercraft to the sizeable marina on Appletree Cove. This North Kitsap Peninsula area is further serviced by the nearness to SEA-TAC International airport. The broader Kingston community and census-designated place (CDP) fans out beyond two miles encompassing newer and older homes, businesses, and attractions far too captivating to be briefly described herein. Kingston shares the fascination of the region with nearby native-American communities plus the towns at Poulsbo, Bainbridge Island, Silverdale, Hansville, Port Gamble, Bremerton and more. Come visit, explore, even move here for yourself...you'll be glad you did!”
