A beautiful original Granary on a small farm just outside Petworth is now a welcoming double studio with en suite bathroom, perfectly located for a couple or single person wanting to get away from it all within an hour's drive of London. It has a super king size bed, en suite bathroom, a well-equipped modern kitchenette (with fridge/freezer, sink, induction hob, toaster & kettle) and French doors onto a pretty balcony where you can sit and enjoy a sundowner overlooking the beautiful countryside.
The Granary is quiet, private and very comfortable with beautiful rural views.
Petworth is a quintessential English country market town only one mile away. What makes the Granary unique is its quietness and privacy. Perfect for anyone who just needs to de-stress from urban life or self-isolate with total peace of mind.
  • Cozy and exactly what we had hoped for. Would definitely go back.

  • Set well off the beaten track in deepest Sussex, the Granary is one of the best places I have ever stayed in. Despite the filthy weather, the puppy and I had a great time. Glorious views across green fields, a beautifully decorated space and a huge, comfortable bed, make future stays inevitable.

  • A lot more spacious than the photos made out!

    Cesare2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We read all the reviews for this property and had high expectations. Everyone is right, it is really a beautiful, clean and spacious property. The countryside around is truly peaceful and as recommended by other guests, we walked to 'The Stag' pub in Balls Cross which is an easy 1-hour walk via small farm roads. The Granary was immaculate and such a great space to live in for a couple of days. There is a small (but amazing) hob which we used to cook ourselves meals and breakfast with the eggs, butter, and bread left for us by the hosts! I would highly recommend this place to anyone, especially those who want a quiet getaway to the countryside, away from city life.

  • A great place to stay in a beautiful setting.

    Araminta2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful rural location with stunning views across the countryside. The space was large and exceptionally clean on arrival.

    Will2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Space was bigger than it seemed in the photos which was a nice surprise. Great facilities in a lovely area.

    Connor2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • The location is fantastic, close to Petworth, walking tracks and pubs, but also remote enough to have peace while enjoying the views. The Granary's décor is lovely, the room comfortable and the bathroom has a great shower. We enjoyed our 3 day stay and would return without hesitation.

  • This is an excellent place to stay. We were looking for somewhere to completely relax and wind down for a couple of days as this was perfect. The communication was excellent throughout and this is definitely somewhere that we would go back to so that we could get away again.

  • Sam and Angel were lovely hosts . The cottage was clean and comfortable , and in the most beautiful setting, just 5 minutes from the centre of the village .

  • Well designed barn conversion with good facilities. Both bedrooms on the ground floor had en-suite bathrooms which was very useful for our elderly relative. Very quiet rural location and ideally placed for visiting Petworth. We were delighted to hear owls hooting at night and see three roe deer in the garden in the morning! Sam and Angel had helpful advice about where to eat and the village shop was well stocked and only a short walk away. The only thing to be alert to was that access to the upstairs bedroom wouldn’t suit anyone with mobility problems.

  • The location is beautiful and outstanding. The facilities are superb. This is not a place to stay if you want to cook cordon blue meals. However, if you are happy with microwave meals and avail yourself of the excellent food in pubs around Petworth then this is the place for you.

  • This was our second stay at the Reading Rooms and even though the weather didn't quite match our previous trip we still loved our stay. A cosy, clean, and quiet space to hideaway for a weekend or use as a base for some beautiful local walks. An additional note - we don't have a car and can thoroughly recommend Mac's local hire for taxi needs! On both trips they've gone out of their way to help us.

    Jack2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The property... The Reading Rooms make for a very pretty countryside getaway. Photos are very accurate - it is a beautiful space - beds are very comfy and there is also a lovely big bath! Check in was self-service and really easy. Nice pubs nearby too. Getting there... We actually travelled by train, getting off at Billingshurst. While I am sure it is easier to drive, rest assured you can still get to and from the property using a local cab company - it took about 15mins and cost just over £10.

  • Amazing little getaway in a location that offers everything you want to relax: nature walks, great pubs, stately home... If you can be bothered to leave the house at all! Nice little touches like a card and chocolate for husband's birthday, Julie offering to send back forgotten property: 5 stars for sure.

    Susanne2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A little haven in the countryside. You can expect well appointed, decorated and furnished accommodation. Spotlessly clean, cosy, quiet, comfortable and bright. We visited in March with awful weather; it was cold, windy and rained a lot. But once inside this little cottage in Julie & Alan’s delightful garden, you will not be concerned with the weather. It must be even better in the Summer months when you can enjoy the terraced area off the first floor bedroom. Radiators in all rooms, underfloor heating in the shower room, a more than adequate dining area with sink, fridge, kettle and toaster ... just right for breakfast, from the welcome basket provided. The Black Horse local pub is less than 5 minutes walk away and has a lovely pub menu, a real log fire and friendly locals; including Julie & Alan. Nice touches, like milk, butter and orange juice in the fridge. Fresh coffee. Tasteful shower gel and shampoo. They have thought of and provided everything ... very well.

    Steve2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Julie and Alan were very welcoming hosts and the Granary is a perfect Bed and Breakfast location. Comfortable, spotless and toasty warm. I bet it's gorgeous in the summer, set in a lovely spot in the South Downs National Park. Would recommend visiting the Roman Villa at Bignor to see the floor mosaics - wonderful evocative history from 400 AD.

    Peter2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely stay with Alan & Julie. The Granary has everything you need and is right next to The Black Horse Inn which was ideal and Petworth is an easy walk away. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable and Alan and Julie even left a birthday card which was a lovely touch

    Kitty2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Super hosts, lovely and friendly people, will stay at the property again once spring kicks in as it’s so closely located to a lot of beautiful places in the country.

    Naim2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Granary is lovely, I came for a quiet few days of writing and it was perfect for this - a cosy space with everything I needed. There are great walks in the surrounding area too

A small country cottage in the beautiful village of Plaistow, West Sussex, famous for having over 30 listed properties. The cottage is annexed onto the Grade II listed main house with 9 acres of land, it has its own front door and private rose garden. The stairlift. is not in use. The fireplace is an electric stove. The bed is a superking or twin beds and kid's beds are available on request. There is parking outside your front door and the decor within is all newly refurbished and very light.
The village of Plaistow is small, rural and charming. It benefits from an amazingly well stocked village shop and cafe, should you not wish to cook breakfast yourself. We are a very short walk from the shop and very close to the church and local pub which is open at weekends and does food on a Friday evening. There is a pretty village green with a children’s play/ park area and there are plenty of walks or cycle rides around. The towns of Horsham, Guildford and Chichester are about 30 minutes drive and all have theatres and cinemas and many shops and amenities. There are countless beautiful villages with wonderful pubs and Goodwood is only 20 minutes away in the lovely town of Petworth.
  • The cottage was full of flowers and a welcome breakfast hamper was a very nice touch. Cate was great at replying quickly and offered good local pub tips. We only stayed for a night but it was a nice break from London

    Kit2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cate was a fantastic host. She catered to our needs and her communication was particularly responsive and helpful. The cottage was lovely and very spacious. Cate provided plenty of local tips and walks along and around the area. Cate communicated often during the harsh weather to ensure we had everything we needed and felt safe and she greeted us with a warm welcome. Would happily revisit again

  • Lovely little annex on some really beautiful land, located amongst a number of cute villages with warm, cosy pubs. Kitchen features a lovely Arga, a small fridge (space for a few days of basics) and all the cookware you need to home cater. Lounge area has a tv and faux electric heater fireplace, which give enough warmth to the room. Bedroom and bathroom lovely. Would stay again!

  • This is the best little place one can find int he area if you are visiting for what ever reason, better than any hotel or travel lodge. Super clean thoughtful touches and just so easy and idyllic. What would you not stay here?

    Kathryn2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cate is a very welcoming host and many kind extra touches are left for guests. Bread and milk plus coffee and tea. The accommodation is clean and cosy. The bedroom is magnificent as are the grounds. I would highly recommend this property. Great too if you like long country dog walks.

  • We loved our stay here. The cottage is beautiful and the welcome basket was a very thoughtful touch. Its a great option to feel like you can take a total break from the city but is only 90min from London. The hosts provided great recommendations for local restaurants and walks. Would highly recommend.

    Ashley2019-11-24T00:00:00Z

  • Loxwood small is a fantastic space. Much bigger than the photos show. Decorated to a very high standard, good quality furniture and lovely little touches with candles and fresh flowers on arrival. Would definitely stay again and would recommend it to anyone who wants to escape to the country with luxury accommodation. Thanks again to Liz for a fabulous stay.

  • It looks just like the photos but bigger. I found the large space so relaxing, but at the same it all feels very cosy. The space is self contained, but as Liz describes, it is inside her house so essentially you may hear people going up and down the stairs - I didn't find it to be an issue at all. The space is beautifully furnished. Liz is a wonderful host. I would definitely come again.

  • This place is truly beautiful it’s spacious, homely, and so many wonderful touches. The bed was super comfy, lots of cushions, blankets, candles etc. The place itself is clean, has everything you need and Liz was really welcoming and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place and we will certainly be back!

    Nadeen2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The place is amazing, the photos don’t do the place justice, so light and airy and the space is so elegantly dressed. Would wholeheartedly recommend this place for a romantic getaway

  • Perfekt location and facility in all matters. More than you would expect. High quality in all details, such as kitchen items, bed linnen, towels etc. We would love to be back. Thank you Liz.

  • The flat is stunning and has plenty of space. It is set on beautiful grounds and is part of a large house. The pictures really don't do it justice

    Amy2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • A gorgeous, stylish and spotless apartment. Liz is a great host and very friendly. There is an adjoining wall with their family home so you can sometimes hear them but very rarely and they didn't disturb us at all. The pub down the road also served a fantastic roast. I would definitely recommend Liz's place if you're looking for a nice countryside getaway with great walks along the canal.

I moved to the area a few years ago and love it, you can literally walk a few minutes and you're in the middle of the countryside! The village is lovely with a great pub a short walk away and several more in the area. It's also close to the local RSPB grounds and several National Trust properties. My home has been lovingly renovated and refreshed (including a brand new bathroom!). Use of the kitchen is included, but please ensure it is left clean and tidy (and try not to trip over a cat!).
I live in a very quiet cul-de-sac with limited parking, so please note if you have a car you may not get parked close to the house! I also have two cats, they do not have access to the bedrooms though.
Pulborough is a small, friendly village. There are some lovely country pubs just a short drive away. There is a supermarket within walking distance and an even closer corner shop.
  • Bonnie place is nice, clean. She is warm, kind and hospitable. I enjoyed staying at her place and having a chat as she is an interesting girl. She let me use kitchen to prep food and I always felt comfortable.

Our apartment offers the perfect weekend break or holiday. Soak up the peace and quiet, enjoy the majestic beech woods, relax surrounded by nature! Set within the South Downs National Park and only 50 miles from London. Please see 'other notes' to view policy for pets, we charge £10 per dog, per visit. Please note there is no sofa bed for extra guests, only a sofa which can be used as a single bed. This will be added as an extra guest.
The apartment is attached to our C18th farm cottage called 'Bedham Cottage' where we live. We are located along a secluded country lane nestled to the hillside in the tiny hamlet of Bedham. Overlooking one of the oldest woodlands in South-East England, it is a perfect rural retreat, surrounded by majestic trees and an abundance of wildlife that can be enjoyed at all times of the year. The apartment is self-contained on two levels with its own entrance. It has wood-panelled walls and solid oak floors throughout and the decoration is highly personalised with a mixture of antique and contemporary furniture. The walls are covered in art and there is a diverse selection of books, journals, boardgames and toys as well as a 50" smart TV, DVD and Wi-fi. The lower floor is an open plan living space that has a well equipped kitchen, dining area and a comfortable lounge with a large picture window overlooking the woodlands. The back door leads out from the kitchen to a paved patio with table and chairs set under a glass roof and a BBQ that is ideal for alfresco meals. A small banked garden surrounding the patio provides complete privacy and in Springtime is full of wild flowers. Another paved terrace has a chiminea that can be lit on chilly evenings to provide a little warmth whilst listening to the owls at dusk. Upstairs is a delightfully light and airy bedroom with an en suite bathroom that has an excellent power shower. French doors lead onto a large roof terrace overlooking a semi wild garden and the woods beyond. This makes a superb spot for breakfast in the summer or evening drinks as the light fades.
We are surrounded by ancient woods within the South Downs National Park and under the protection of both the Woodland Trust and the Sussex Wildlife Trust. We are also close to the South Downs Way. So for the nature lover, you can immerse yourself all year round; from the spectacle of bluebells in Spring to mushroom foraging in Autumn, from the incredible ‘dawn chorus’ of Summer to bracing Winter walks. Historic towns: Petworth is our nearest town 3 miles way. It is a picturesque market town known for antique shops. Here you can find lovely coffee shops and deli's. • The hideaway is the perfect getaway- the views from the living room and bedroom are both phenomenal and make the space incredibly unique. As we both enjoy photography this is the ideal place to stay with birds coming and going all day long. The kitchen is well equipped, the lounge has a comfy sofa and a large TV. My partner booked a reflexology session with Louise, she loved it and highly recommends it. There are plenty of areas to walk and explore. A short drive away there are some great pubs and tea houses. Would love to come and visit again.

  • Absolutely the right name, wonderful woodland snug place with outstanding views and lovely host

    Oliver2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • An ideal spot for getting away from it all. A cozy retreat even during stormy weather. The view is mesmerising and the Hideaway is full of intriguing photos and found objects. Louise offers fantastic, deeply relaxing reflexology sessions, which I highly recommend. A car is useful and boots are a must! You can walk onto trails directly from the house, where helpfully there is a folder full of maps. We've also just discovered the app 'AllTrails' which was great for walks a short drive away. We hope to return soon!

  • We stayed with Victoria and Tony while attending a wedding in Lurgashall and a reception at Batholomew Barn in Kindford. The location could not have been better, we were just minutes to all the wedding events (the ambitious people could walk the 30 minutes home from the barn), and Tony and Vicki were so helpful with directions and information on other points of interest. Our room was quiet and peaceful, nicely decorated with a king-sized bed and a very modern shower, with nice views of the countryside. Vicki's breakfasts were the best of our trip. She emailed ahead to see our preferences, and made exactly what we preferred... yoghurt and fresh fruit for me, bacon and eggs for my husband and warm baguettes for both of us. Lovely. Tony and Vicki were also so helpful in helping me track down a purse I'd left at the reception (Tony calling the Barn for me from his phone) and even helping me repair my reading glasses. They are thoughtful and every way, it was like staying with family. We hope we can get back there again.

Dragonfly Lodge is a newly converted luxury self-catered apartment tucked away in beautifully quiet West Sussex countryside. This spacious self-contained flat renovated from a large double garage is a naturally light, modern space nestled in front of stunning woodland in our 7 acre garden and Alpaca field. With a river, canal, rolling fields, woods and a meca of footpaths on your doorstep, this is the perfect launchpad to explore the countryside by foot, bike or horse. It's dog walkers heaven.
Dragonfly Lodge is an entire self-contained single-storey ground floor apartment with private entrance and parking. Light, modern and airy with views across fields, woodland and the Wey & Arun canal. The lodge is attached to our family home but feels very private. Spacious parking at the front of the lodge makes it easy to unload your things. Vertical blinds let in loads of light through the two large double patio doors and give you extra privacy when desired. The lodge is extremely well-kitted out with everything you should need to cook in the fully equipped large kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washer dryer. We include a welcome box with fresh ground coffee, organic teas, sugar, fresh juice, cereals, local eggs, bread, jam and butter. There are kitchen essentials like bin bags, dishwasher tablets, cling film, foil and washing equipment for you to use. The King size bedroom has a comfy bed, quality cotton linen, luxury wool duvet to make your stay as comfortable and hotel-like as possible. There is tons of clothes storage space in the large wardrobe and chest of drawers. A patio door leads to the outside private patio and seating area with view over the woodland and our friendly Alpacas who will be grazing nearby. The living room has a huge L shaped sofa and arm chair with smart tv, netflix and wifi. Cosy sofa blankets are provided for snuggling under. In the large bathroom with walk in shower you will find soft Egyptian cotton towels warmed on the heated towel rail and a selection of hotel toiletries and plenty of storage. Well behaved dogs are very welcome to join you adhering to our house rules. We ask is that any dog mess is picked up and that dogs stay on leads in our garden so they can not roam free into our back field and scare the Alpaca. We have a very placid friendly senior french bulldog Wynny who you may see when he wakes up from one of his many lengthy naps. The enclosed patio gives you a secure outside space for children or pets or to relax with a glass of wine. There is plenty of grass for dogs to stretch their legs on at the front leading down to the many footpaths straight from our garden along the canal and to local villages and pubs. The lodge has been converted with couples in mind but you are very welcome to bring babies / children as there is space for an extra bed/cot. We have everything you would need that could be added (on request) - travel cot, highchair, books and indoor and outdoor toys. The large corner sofa bed can be made into 1 adult single or 2 child single beds or a large king size. Extra bedding can be provided for a small charge.
Stunningly beautifully and quiet West Sussex countryside. Ifold is a quiet private estate Hamlet (shop reopening in April 2020) and we are located at the very end of a long winding farm track over the river bridge and across the canal out the back of the hamlet. It is a short 10-15 minute walk along the canal to Loxwood where there is a great local shop, pub and award winning butchers. 7 minutes drive the other direction is another great local shop and tearoom at Plaistow located on a picturesque village green.
  • Sarah's place was absolutely amazing! So peaceful and beautiful and the added touches just make it above and beyond expectations. We really needed a secluded break away and that's exactly what we got. This is its own little paradise in the countryside.

    Chelsea2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic, relaxing couple of nights away. Sarah couldn’t have been more accommodating and really looked after us. The lodge is spotless and has a lovely homely feel to it. Perfect location if you’re looking for a break - especially if you have a pooch, brilliant walking and pubs nearby. Thank you Sarah and family, we will be back!

    Aaron2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you to Sarah for a wonderful few days at your converted barn. A bottle of cava, orange juice and milk with bread in the bread bin, fully stocked tea and coffee made all the difference for us arriving with nothing. It is soooooo worth the drive through the country roads for a stunningly beautiful location and facilities. The giant walk in shower was luxury and the beautiful fully fitted kitchen including a washing machine and dish washer was just lovely. We were so lucky that Sarah was happy to accommodate our three small white fluffy dogs too! It was just wonderful to enjoy the drive and explore the South Downs, the coast and pretty near by towns and villages. Thank you so much Sarah!

  • From the first message to enquire, all the way through our stay, to the day we got home and messaged as we thought we'd forgotten something, Sarah's communication speed and helpfulness is the best we've had using Air BnB. The lodge is a superb standard, spotlessly clean and little touches that make the difference are thought of. Sarah and her husband even ensured our 10 month old enjoyed his stay by providing toys and a cot which were waiting in the lodge. The location allows for stunning walks and sun rises and is absolutely perfect if you want a quiet break from the 9-5. You'd never know the lodge is in the grounds of Sarah's House as privacy is completely respected although Sarah and her husband are on hand for helpful tips during your stay or to answer any questions. We certainly wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we were in the area

  • Myself and my boyfriend stayed at Dragonfly Cottage for two nights over New Years with our 8 month old son; looking to escape the hubbub of London and get some fresh air. From start to finish communication with Sarah was fantastic - she was particularly considerate in offering options for placement of the travel cot (which she provided, as well as a high chair and some of her daughters old toys). The Cottage itself is a wonderful cosy space with plenty of room for little ones to play within sight. The surroundings are beautiful and we felt we could be in the middle of nowhere; we took a walk along the canal to Loxwood which was picturesque even on a grey day - we only wish we were able to stay another day or two so we could have explored further. Finally, we took advantage of the opportunity to feed the alpacas which our son loved - not something you get to experience with every Airbnb. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay and a pleasure to deal with such a great host as Sarah - would recommend to all!

    Kat2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah is a fantastic host and the lodge a lovely place to stay in the Surrey countryside. She organised lots of nice items for breakfast which was a really nice touch as we didn’t have to worry about grabbing things from the supermarket. The lodge is exactly as you see it in the photos, very stylishly decorated and sparkling clean. There are some really nice walks to do in the area and her pub recommendations are great. We loved Noah’s Ark in Lurgashall. We had a fantastic weekend and would highly recommend Sarah’s lodge.

    Valeria2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic stay at the lodge - the location really is about as secluded as you could possibly want, facilities in the lodge are fantastic and Sarah couldn't be a more helpful host. Really appreciated the welcome pack and the overall cleanliness of the place, bed was lovely and comfy, kitchen was well-equipped... marvellous!

    Matt2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah was a lovely host and made us feel very welcome. Sarah contacted us to check if we had any food allergies so she could provide us with a lovely welcome pack. We stayed for a few nights and we didn't really need anything and the place was extremely comfortable and private during our stay. It was very clean and spacious with a private patio looking the Alpacas, which was great! We cannot thank Sarah enough for her hospitality and we are looking forward to coming back again and soon. We would highly recommend anyone to stay.

'Maggie's Hut' is a cosy shepherd's hut set in a beautiful garden. It has a comfortable double bed and a woodburning stove for colder winter nights. The Swan Inn, (currently open!) a family run 15th century pub is a short stroll away. Perfectly located for the South Downs National Park. Also near Goodwood for its famous Festival of Speed and Revival and for exploring Chichester, Petworth & Arundel. Separate outdoor hot shower (**see note below) and 'Eco' composting loo are adjacent to the hut.
If you want to get away from it all, unwind, switch off and relax, Maggie's Hut is the perfect venue. Our bijou and perfectly formed hideaway is set within a pretty garden in the downland village of Fittleworth. It is within a short stroll (literally 2 minutes!) of the fantastic Swan Inn, which serves fine ales and delicious home-cooked food. (Do check their website for opening times as it alters opening hours in winter). There are other good pubs within a short drive or a good walk. The hut is extremely cosy and warm in the winter whilst also managing to stay cool at the height of the summer, shaded by the surrounding trees. There is a very comfortable double bed with crisp cotton sheets, a cosy duvet, pillows and fluffy sheepskins. 'The Bamboo Loo' is a separate outdoor 'eco' composting toilet adjacent to the hut. There is a private outdoor gas shower with instant hot running water. Showering outside is a unique and special experience and even in the colder months our guests enthuse about it! We provide towels, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Bathrobes are also provided. *** In winter, when the temperature drops below zero, we may have to drain the shower to prevent burst pipes etc. This means the shower isn't usable, but hopefully only temporarily. Once the temperature rises we will turn it back on again *** The hut has a small wood-burner. We will give you enough kindling and logs to keep a cosy fire going for those cooler nights and mornings. There is all you need to make cups of tea (herbal teas are also provided) or enjoy a cup of our own delicious ground coffee, 'Maggie's Hut Blend', which has been especially created for us by our next door neighbours at The Honeybee Coffee Roastery (a decaffeinated blend is available on request, in advance). You will find wine glasses, tumblers, plates, bowls, mugs and cutlery. There is a mini fridge, kettle and a toaster. Breakfast cereals are provided and you will find milk and water in the fridge. If you would like our special breakfast basket delivered to your door in the morning, containing warm croissants, fresh bread, butter, jams, yoghurt and fresh orange juice, ** please enquire/ request at time of booking as sometimes this is not available ** (an extra £7.50 per person per morning is payable for this). Hopefully the weather will be good enough for you to eat outside but if not, there is a fold-down table and chairs within the hut. Maggie's Hut also has mains electric and two double power sockets. Secure parking available in our private driveway. There is also undercover parking for an open top car or motorbikes. The recently opened 'Fittleworth Village Stores and Cafe' is about a 10 minute walk away. * It has a wide variety of produce, much of which is local. It also has a lovely café serving breakfast, snacks and light lunches. You can also buy alcohol, newspapers and it has a post office where you can withdraw cash. * revised opening times (mornings only) due to Coronavirus, cafe is currently closed. Food deliveries available.
There is plenty to do and see in the area, and something for everyone. There are some lovely walks straight from the front door, and slightly further afield lie the beautiful South Downs with the well known walkway and many other beautiful routes. Fittleworth itself sits within the South Downs National Park and boasts two commons. We have Hesworth Common, which is just a 5 minute walk from the Hut and is an Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty. If you walk to the trig point at the top you will be rewarded with beautiful far reaching views to the Downs. Fittleworth Common is a 10 minute walk away and is smaller and quieter (known mainly to the 'locals') than Hesworth but also has lovely views and a collection of unusual trees. The Lord's Piece at Coates Common (2 miles): A beautiful piece of parkland which looks like a piece of the New Forest that has been transported to West Sussex. The historic towns of Petworth, Arundel and Chichester are all within striking distance. We are also conveniently located for Goodwood with its very popular Festival of Speed and Revival Meeting. You might like to hire bikes from 'Chalkpit Trails' based in Amberley. They have a good selection of mountain bikes and E- bikes and can advise on routes. Other places of interest: Petworth House and Park (3.7 miles): Magnificent National Trust House set in a beautiful 700 acre deer park landscaped by 'Capability' Brown and immortalized in Turner's paintings. The nearby town of Petworth is worth a visit too for a mooch about the shops (there are an abundance of antique shops), and there are a variety of good places to eat and drink. Amberley (6.2 miles): is one of the most attractive of all downland villages. It has a lovely setting; on the east side there is the scarp slope of the Downs, rising up to Amberley Mount with a steep climb up to the South Downs Way . On the south and west sides of Amberley there's the atmospheric River Arun and the wild brooks. The village has its own Castle, and although it's in use as a hotel and wedding venue rather than a good old-fashioned historic monument the castle is extremely atmospheric. Non-guests of the hotel can walk around the back of the Amberley Castle on their way into Amberley Swamp. The recently renovated pub 'The Black Horse' is very popular and worth a visit. Amberley Wildbrooks Nature reserve (3.6 miles): A great haven for birdlife in winter. Amberley Working Museum (5.4 miles):This is an interesting use of an old chalk pit above the railway station - it's now home to a treasure horde of old agricultural and industrial machinery, nearly all of it still functioning. Arundel Castle (8 miles): Founded at the end of the 11th Century, it has been the family home of the Dukes of Norfolk and their ancestors for nearly 1000 years. Set high on a hill in West Sussex, this great Castle commands the landscape with magnificent views across the South Downs and the River Arun. The town of Arundel is also worth exploring with a wide variety of interesting independent shops and eateries. Parham House and Gardens (5.8 miles): (please note it is closed during the winter months, re-opening on Easter Sunday 2019) Parham is one of the country’s finest Elizabethan Houses, complete with a Great Hall and Long Gallery. The Gardens consist of beautiful Pleasure Grounds and a four-acre Walled Garden. There are stunning herbaceous borders, a glasshouse, vegetable garden, orchard and a 1920s Wendy House. They featured in The Guardian’s “10 best gardens to visit this summer” The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum (14.7 miles): Historic houses and agricultural buildings dating from the 13th century to Victorian times, rescued from destruction and rebuilt in a magnificent parkland setting. West Dean Gardens (15.6 miles): Nestled at the foot of the South Downs, West Dean is one of the greatest restored gardens open to the public today. Visitors can explore a wide range of features from surreal trees to the restored walled garden. Goodwood: House, Hotel, Race Course, Motor Circuit and Aerodrome all within approximately 15 miles of Maggie's Hut and are worth a visit. The Aero Club cafe is open to the public and very close to the airfield and motor circuit so you can watch the comings and goings. Cass Sculpture Foundation (12.1 miles): Visitors are welcome to explore the tranquil 26-acre site, which contain over 50 large-scale, contemporary sculptures and two indoor gallery spaces. The organisation commissions new works and curates dynamic exhibitions every year, featuring some of the most exciting artists working in sculpture today, all within a beautiful country setting. Vineyards: If wine is your thing.... we are lucky enough to have several Vineyards very close by. Most offer visits and tours (seasonal April/May to October) but DO CHECK WEBSITES for opening times and availability as some are more limited than others and often get booked up quickly! Stopham Vineyard: (1 mile) English still and sparkling wines on our doorstep! You can even take a lovely cross country walk from to get there. Tours and visits available. You can include lunch at the White Hart Pub, situated on the river. Do check opening times. Nutbourne Vineyard: (6 miles). A family run winery, in a lovely setting that you can visit free of charge and simply enjoy the surroundings. Lovely lake and alpacas! You can also take a picnic to enjoy in the grounds. Tours available for booking too (limited days - check website in advance). Upperton: (5 miles) near Tillington (a picturesque village with a fabulous pub, The Horseguards Inn) A vineyard in another wonderful setting. You can enjoy a glass of sparkling wine on the terrace overlooking the Downs. Tinwood, nr Chichester (13 miles) More delicious sparkling wine to sample at the foot of the Downs. Tours bookable in advance. Langham Brewey, Lodsworth (7miles) An award winning micro brewery. Brewery Tours available. Once again check website for details of booking etc. Bignor Roman Villa (4.4 miles) is the stunning remains of a Roman home with world-class mosaic floors in a spectacular Downland setting. Learn why the Roman owners chose to develop such a magnificent settlement at Bignor in the 3rd Century AD and how they acquired wealth from its location. Open 7 days a week: 1st March – 31st October From 10am until 5pm (last admission 4pm).
  • The hut was absolutely lovely and gorgeous and we had an amazing time. The hut was really clean, cosy and comfortable, and we loved the outdoor shower and toilet - it was really simple to use everything. Shirley had lots of lovely touches like local coffee, crocs and bathrobes to wear outside between the hut and shower area, and homemade flapjacks! We really had an amazing stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for an easy to find break from London.

    Amelia2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for 2 nights and have only positive things to say about the Hut. Great communication, amenities, location, and more. A truly outstanding weekend getaway and very easy from London. Highly recommend to anyone looking for tranquility and relaxation.

  • If you’re looking for somewhere to escape to, this is the perfect place! Amazing hospitality and thoughtful touches, and such a relaxing place to stay. The outdoor shower is amazing! Highly recommend.

  • Can’t recommend this beautiful shepherd’s hut highly enough.... the thoughtful touches, high quality finishes, natural surroundings and welcoming and considerate hosts make it one of the nicest places we’ve stayed (& we’ve stayed in a LOT of places!) Great pub a short stroll away, and the best of the National Park on your doorstep from here.... we would love to come back and spend more time in this wonderful corner of the world :) Thank you Shirley, Charles & Rita!

    Lorraine2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely homely space, private but with local amenities nearby as required. Good walks in the area and helpful maps left by Shirley and family. Excellent host with everything catered to. Lovely woodburner and comfy bed with enough space to get comfortable for your stay. Would strongly recommend for a country retreat or base for a while. A++

    Rich2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • When I found Maggie’s Hut, I thought just from reading about it that it was going to be a magical place, but it managed even to exceed my imagination. The bathroom facilities are truly inspired. I feel the cold a great deal, so I thought the (in principle, wonderful!) outdoor shower and toilet might not show to their best in the depths of winter. Even with subzero temperatures and frost on the grass however, it was heavenly to bathe outdoors, the water is so hot, and provided the most gorgeous sensation of luxury in contrast with the chill of the air. With birdsong in the morning, and stars in the evening, it felt truly heavenly. The hut itself is perfectly charming, everything cosy and tranquil, and the wood burner does a phenomenal job of heating! We even had to open the (so, so lovely) barn door for a bit of a breeze. Shirley’s breakfast basket was simply the final touch of pastoral charm in this lovingly arranged little hideaway. It’s phenomenal value for money - especially considering the rarity of these sustainable facilities. Composting toilets are so much better for the planet, and in fact so much more pleasant to use!

  • Maggie's hut is perfect for a getaway in the South Downs. The hut gives you privacy and all the amenities you need while still letting letting you switch off for the time you are there. It makes a great base whether you want to drive further afield in the area or simply relax and do local walks which start at the end of the drive way. There are lots of great walks starting from the village, a good pub right on the doorstep (2 mins away!), a lovely cafe up the road and wineries nearby. The eco toilet and shower make this a unique experience and was great fun even in the middle of winter. The cabin was super warm and cosy and you have a lovely space whether you're sitting inside or outside. Shirley and Charles were great hosts, very friendly and with some great tips on the local area. We'll definitely head back to Maggie's hut in future!

    Euan2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • It was an amazing stay. We loved escaping and still can't believe we managed to create a fire that didn't go out immediately! The outside shower was amazing. As someone who always runs cold, there was a slight worry - but you would never know it was December in there! We slept in the most comfortable bed ever and your homemade bread was gorgeous. We will be back to enjoy another peaceful, perfect break. Thank you.

A peaceful, stylish, self-contained one-bedroom apartment with views over private woodland & fields. Only 90 minutes from London, 25 minutes to the coast, 40 minutes to Brighton. Set in rural West Sussex in the South Downs National Park this is the perfect retreat for those wanting a relaxed getaway.
The Barn House and Shepherd's Hut is set on a 16-acre property in rural West Sussex. ** Please note Easter & May 2019 bookings: it is likely there will be a shipping container and builders skip on the main parking area behind the barnhouse from work we've been doing on the main house. There will not be any building activity taking place on weekends or holidays but we just want to warn you of the impact with respect to the view from the part of the barnhouse. The main terrace/view to the woodland isn't particularly affected. ** The apartment is modern with a light, airy design. It has one bedroom with a queen-sized bed, a sitting room, a full size kitchen and 1.5 bathrooms. Upstairs is an 'attic style' build with sloping ceilings on the side and full height ceilings in the centre. The kitchen and dining area downstairs have full height ceilings. You'll all wake up to views over private woodland and fields. You have a private outdoor terrace with outdoor table and chairs where you can enjoy your morning coffee, a BBQ (just ask) or evening drinks including an outdoor wood burner to keep you company on chillier evenings or mornings. The property is set opposite some of England's oldest beech forest - once the hunting ground of Henry VIII - with fantastic footpaths and bridleways for walking and cycling. We keep the kitchen stocked with essentials including ground coffee, teas, milk and breakfast basics. Babies are very welcome. We have a travel cot, mattress and blankets if needed. Children are welcome too (we can provide 2 or 3 thick camping mats) but the space isn't toddler friendly as there are stairs without stair-gates, and a retaining wall on the terrace.
The Barn House is set on a quiet rural road, half-way between the little villages of Wisborough Green & Fittleworth. Glorious food.... We have some fantastic pubs nearby including the Three Crowns in Wisborough Green, the Horse Guards in Tillington, and the Bat & Ball in Wisborough Green also. Further afield we highly recommend The George at Burpham - a drive which will take you past Arundel Castle and Cathedral. For those who like to mix a weekend break with fine dining we recommend you book a table at Tom Seller's 'Lickfold Inn' - a 400-year old pub recently restored. Good for Goodwood.... We are only 30 minutes drive to Goodwood for horse-racing, Goodwood Revival and the Festival of Speed. We are 5 minute's drive from the beautiful village of Petworth which is famous for its antique stores and the Capability Brown-designed landscape at Petworth House & Park. Autumn... Our property is set in the middle of three beautiful wooded estates so Autumn is the perfect time to visit if you want to see woodland colour. Summer... The swimming beaches of Littlehampton and Climping (where the locals swim) are only 25 minutes away. The famous white sand beaches of East and West Wittering beaches are an hour away. We are situated near the Arun river for those who like wild swimming or canoeing. The South Downs... Our property is set within the South Downs National Park with its beautiful network of footpaths and bridleways. From your front door we have walks which meander through ancient woodland, water meadows, farmland, tiny villages and past vineyards. A 10 minute drive takes you to the top of Bignor Hill with outstanding long-distance walking, cycling or horse-riding including the South Downs Way.
  • Katherine's place is really great. We've been to over five AirBnb's in the area and this was our favourite. It has a lovely living space for those inside moments when the weather's not so good and the green space around was nice too and I'm sure will be in the warm weather. It was peaceful, well located for some lovely walks and spotlessly clean with a well equipped kitchen. Katherine was lovely and welcoming to us and Nia the dog when we arrived and we'd highly recommend.

    Rob2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Katherine is a considerate and kind host. My sister had been very ill and we needed a place to recuperate as I looked after her. The place is immaculate, clean, modern and spacious. The area of West Sussex is beautiful and we went on day trips all the time with our dog. The area is quiet and serene, beautiful landscapes and brilliant woodland areas. The barn is super cosy and warm even if it gets chilly, a beautiful kitchen and lounge with WiFi and Apple TV. We would like to thank Katherine and Simon, and her wonderful children. I know they the noise down for our benefit. Very thoughtful. Wouldn't hesitate to come back again. Katherine even looked out for my sister as I was called to work. Thank you Katherine.

  • Beautiful place, hosts, & location. Can’t ask for more, it has everything you need situated in magical woodland. Thank you to Katherine & Simon. We (my doggy) loved it. You won’t be disappointed!

  • We wanted to get away from the city to see some nature and Katherine's place was just what we were looking for. Beautiful nature, very peaceful, lovely walks and a nice relaxing place to stay. We found everything we needed was provided and more.

  • Lovely place to stay. Beautiful county side and the barn is very comfortable with everything you could want. Very very helpful and great communication. Will return.

  • A wonderful place to stay in great surroundings, tastefully decorated and everything you need. We had a very nice, relaxing week there and can highly recommend Katherine and Simon's Barn House!

    Chris2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place to relax and get away from the rat race. It is a truly stunning location and the barn is modern and cosy. Great for walking, exploring the South Downs and the coast.

    Jennie2018-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • A little slice of the good life. I booked Katherine's lovely refurbished barn for a quiet weekend away with the 'blonde' for our one year anniversary. We found on arrival some picturesque scenery, a helpful host and a fresh loaf waiting for us on the kitchen table. We left with memories of country walks, local pubs and the sweet sound of rain hitting the window pain...magical when you've got nowhere to be (and when you're in the middle of a heatwave). Lovely spot, well cared for. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a quiet weekend away to recharge the batteries.

  • Such a beautiful place - the pictures don’t do it justice. Right in the centre of the village and next to loads of great pubs and shops. Really loved it.

  • Lucy and Richard’s place is full of character and a perfect location for exploring Petworth- very central- close to Petworth Park and opposite The Hungry Guest cafe! Lucy was so helpful organising our arrival and had left plenty of local information and recommendations. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Thanks for a lovely stay!

  • We very much enjoyed our stay in Petworth. Richard and Lucy's place is wonderful. Really unusual and special. Very comfortable and could not be more central. Loads of wonderful antique and other shops in the town and great places to eat. Petworth House is great. Richard and Lucy were very welcoming and made our visit perfect. Thanks so much.

  • This is a really lovely apartment. Spotlessly clean, very well equipped, comfy beds, great showers and bath, perfectly situated, and a great place to relax in. Hosts Lucy and Richard were friendly and welcoming too - it was a real treat to stay here.

  • Richard and Lucy's place is perfectly situated for those looking to explore Petworth/South Downs. Lots of nice thoughtful touches, and the space has some fascinating history behind it. They are both lovely hosts, getting in touch before our visit and ensuring things went very smoothly. Would definitely stay here again.

  • This has turned out to be a wonderful stay. The location is outstanding with the local area having so much to offer. If you like good pubs and walking in the most breathtaking countryside the UK has to offer... you won’t go far wrong here!

  • What a lovely. On one side with historical value being the former Photo Studio of Mr Walter Kevis in the 19th century (check under history on penthouse Petworth) . Very clean, cosy, beautiful decoration, great location. The livingroom is very spacious, and the light entering from the windows on side and top is amazing (former studio). Location: central location in Petworth, between downtown and Petworth House. Very good. The Lucy helped us with all our questions and treated us very well. We can highly recommend the Penthouse Petworth

  • This beautiful little cabin is the perfect escape to the country. We arrived in the dark but thankfully we had Will’s clear instructions which led us to ‘The Pavillion’. Straight away we were bowled over by the extremely clean, cosy and welcoming space. No TV, no WIFI- absolute perfection as we were in desperate need for a break from London. The kitchenette had all the necessary essentials for heating up dinner. Will and Jay’s homemade Welsh cakes were lovely little treat for dessert too! The bed was incredibly comfortable and it was lovely to go to sleep hearing nothing and wake up to the birds singing. We were blown away when we woke up to our surroundings- beautiful woodland and green fields. Will and Jay were the perfect hosts. They were extremely helpful and always on hand to offer help if it was needed. We spent a lovely afternoon in Petworth followed by a blustery beach walk in West Wittering. We can’t wait to return. Thank you Will and Jay.

    Sophie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely peaceful place. Would highly recommend. Will is very helpful and answered all of our queries. Will be back in the summer!

    Aimee2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place to stay - such a beautiful location, and so cozy and comfortable. Despite being a 'tiny house' it feels very airy inside. Everything was spotless and there were lots of little touches like nice teabags and cakes. Lots to do and see within short driving distance, plus a great wooded walk straight from the property. Jay was on hand to warmly help with local tips which were well worth hearing. We will definitely be back.

    Eilidh2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The name says it all - a cosy cottage in the woods. We were looking for a quiet weekend away from the city and this little spot was brilliant - the hosts were so welcoming and we caught Petworth at its finest with a sunny walk in the park and festive Christmas market as the sun set. Highly recommended!

    Helen2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay highly recommended!

    Eddy2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • A great little escape. Nice and remote whilst being close to a selection of towns and villages. Lovely local walks and a good choice of pubs. The Pavillon itself was charming and very clean. The electric radiator took a while to heat up the space and no Wi-Fi made our lack of phone signal a small issue. Would highly recommend to friends and family though!

    Todd2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here, the cabin was immaculately clean on arrival. Will kept in touch in the run up to our stay and gave us some advice as to good spots to eat. The bed is very comfy and lovely touches like the biscuits and cafetiere made us feel at home instantly. It's a great location to explore the downs. I'm not sure if it'd be a little chilly in there in the winter months but we'd definitely stay here again, especially in summer when you could sit out with the BBQ! Thank you so much Will and Jay!

  • Charlotte's place is extremely comfortable and cosy - would happily recommend!

    Jennifer2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • An Oasis of Good Taste. Charlotte’s very comfortable double room with en-suite bathroom occupies all of the first floor above the stables or garage. It is an annexe building and therefore fully self-contained and very private. One can park a vehicle right next to the building, so access is easy up a single outside staircase. Arriving at night there are automatic lights so no problem accessing the room and if arriving late, as we did, Charlotte will simply leave the room open with the key inside. Communication with Charlotte was efficient and easy. The bathroom is large and newly refurbished with both a bath and a separate walk-in shower, which will suit both Americans and the British! Charlotte kindly provides tea, coffee, milk and orange juice plus cereals, bread and butter. There is also a toaster and a microwave. The room is warm and cosy but best of all, it is an oasis of good taste. The beds are comfortable, the curtains are handmade, the furniture is all good quality English period items. The location is delightful, set in the middle of the English countryside, down a quiet country lane. Trish and I are Airbnb super hosts and so we know a fine and comfortable listing when we stay in one. We recommend Charlotte’s room and en-suite without hesitation. With kind regards, Kim.

The room was very spacious and we loved the furniture and little homely touches; it had everything we needed for our stay. We'd definitely recommend your place and would return if we needed a place to stay in the area in future.

Set within the grounds of a Sussex manor house, the Doghouse is a colourful, luxurious studio offering total privacy whilst being close to a variety of historic towns such as Arundel, Petworth, Brighton, village pubs, racecourses, operas, Goodwood, and the coast. It is next to the South Downs National Park and is in an Area of Outstanding Beauty, surrounded by open countryside and wonderful walks. It features a large double bed, wetroom-style shower room, galley kitchen and sunny patio garden.
The Doghouse is full of a varied, eclectic mix of antiques and modern furniture, but above all, is comfortable and welcoming. The private patio garden is secluded and sunny. The property has two resident dogs, six horses and a cat. The galley kitchen has a small fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave and a single electric hot-plate and is therefore not suitable for serious cooking but perfectly adequate for breakfast and light cooking. There are many pubs, restaurants and order-in options in the nearby area and we are very happy to recommend and book in advance for our guests if they so wish.
The surrounding area offers gastro-pubs, antique shops, polo, golf, horse racing at Goodwood and Fontwell, the Festival of Speed and Revival meetings at Goodwood, and first-class theatres at Chichester and Guildford. The South Downs Way is a 15 minute drive and the Arun and Wey canal is ten minutes away.

  • Kind and thoughtful hosts. Gorgeous location to get away into the countryside. Beautiful spacious place to stay, everything is well thought out and beautifully kept. We enjoyed our stay and we would love to return.. Thank you again.

  • Really beautiful place! Sparklingly clean and extremely stylish. Great communication and recommendations from Davina. Amazing countryside location

    David2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is definitely a place worth visiting. Lovely area where wild bunnies jump between the trees and narrow colourful roads meander between picturesque landscapes and fairytale houses. One of which is Davina's little piece of heaven. Pictures in the add speak for themselves, what i'd like ad however is that quality of deco, furniture and fixtures in the studio is simply top notch. Luxury, comfort and literally all you could ever need is provided. Really happy with the stay :)

    Monika2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place , funky decor , great hosts , thoroughly enjoyed

    Gary2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed this perfect retreat in the countryside not too far from London and the coast and close to the South Downs for lovely walks. The studio is a wonderful quiet hideaway that was well above the standard of anything we have Air BnB visited. The room is comfortable, bright and very tastefully completed. The bathroom deserves an award!! Davina obviously has an eye for style and quality. We were a bit apprehensive at the Doghouse name - this lovely studio is certainly not.

    Paul2019-07-21T00:00:00Z

High View House is a beautiful 19th century stone cottage. What makes it extra special is its location in the South Downs National Park. With its stunning rural views and friendly polo ponies in the neighbouring fields. It’s your very own stylish self-contained ground floor ‘Escape to the Country’ retreat however, with no shortage of fantastic restaurants & adventures on your doorstep. Conveniently located near to Goodwood, Cowdray, Chichester and wonderful beaches on the South East coast.
Your self-contained suite has just been refurbished and is beautifully styled throughout. A historical ordnance survey map wall, wood floors, with luxurious carpet in the bedroom and an original Chesterfield sit comfortably alongside fluffy towels, crisp linen, feather pillows and a generous King sized bed. Comfort is key. Ideal for couples, friends or solo travellers alike. All are welcome to relax and unwind. A Nespresso coffee machine, fridge with a 'welcome pack' of biscuits, soft drinks, water and a choice of red or white wine are all on hand. A complimentary breakfast of granola, yogurt and fruit is on offer or a more substantial option is available (sourdough bread, croissants, jam or local honey at an additional cost on advance request). Think well equipped hotel suite (rather than full catering holiday cottage). There are sweeping views from the garden of the stunning Shimmings Valley and there is a footpath off the property over the field from which you can walk to Petworth town centre (approx. 5/10mins). There you will find a number of restaurants, shops, galleries and amazing pubs. It's always best to book when eating out and we can happily help recommend.
There is so much to see and do in an around Petworth. Petworth itself is a picturesque market town situated within the South Downs National Park, with an wonderfully eclectic and exciting array of shops, galleries and restaurants. Adjoining the town is Petworth House and its 600 acre deer park owned by the National Trust. However, Petworth really comes into its own in July & October where its annual Music and Arts (July) & Literary (Oct/Nov) festivals take place. There are also numerous sporting activities available in and around the area. Horse and motor racing at Goodwood, Polo, fly fishing & golf at Cowdray, wind-surfing at West Wittering, sailing at Itchenor and amazing walks and hiking in the South Downs National Park.
  • This is very close in to central Petworth, and yet it's very quiet, well away from the traffic, and with a wonderful view. Melanie and her mum were both very considerate and welcoming. Everything is glitteringly clean, with beautiful linen and nice touches.

    Alexandra2020-02-21T00:00:00Z

  • We really enjoyed our stay, thanks so much for making us feel so welcome xx love the ground floor where we stayed, thanks for all the thoughtful touches xx Especially loved the view over the fields while we had brekkie in the garden xx

  • This is a gem of a place to stay. The accommodation was sparkling clean with a large and comfortable bed. The bedroom is a good size with plenty of space for luggage with a sofa and coffee table at one end so ideal for relaxing. The bathroom has a great shower and Melanie had added some thoughtful extras including dressing gowns for anyone who may not have one with them. Breakfast was self service with fruit juice, milk, granola, yoghourt and fresh fruit provided in the fridge with tea and coffee available from a machine. This worked really well allowing us to have breakfast at our leisure and coffee sitting in the beautiful private garden overlooking the countryside beyond. This accommodation is very convenient for the town and Petworth House. Melanie was very helpful offering to recommend local amenities. We would definitely stay with Melanie again if we are in the area.

Cottage in beautiful garden setting, very large living room/kitchen this has bi-fold doors to terrace overlooking the gardens. Wood burrner for heating. 2 double bedrooms and bathroom on the ground floor. Also a loft bedroom with double bed.
Its spacious and easy to live in. The 2 bedrooms on the ground floor are a joining. The 3rd bed is in the mezzanine loft. The bathroom is spacious and has an over bath shower with a side screen. Great amenities, we were able to cook meals in the well-equipped kitchen. Shower/bathrooms clean and modern, with a nice touch of towels and toiletries provided. Bedroom was cosy, clean, and the bed was soft and comfortable! Living area was spacious, sofa very comfortable also. Large modern flat screen TV with freeview was nice also. • An amazing apartment. Beautifully furnished, spacious, warm, Sainsbury's over the road (!), and safe off road parking.

  • Lovely place for a weekend away. Very well equipped kitchen. Easy check in and helpful host. Within a 25 minute walk from the train station and less than 1 minute to a supermarket if you don't have a car. Would definitely stay there again
