“The Root Note offers a low-key place to get work done, read a book, or chat with friends. During the week they have a variety of events including jazz nights, open mics, music performances, and trivia. This is a great place to go for crepes, coffee, and work or drinks and fun!”

“This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in La Crosse. They do a wonderful job with sauces- love the Queso Crema Chicken. Unfortunately, their seating area is tiny. Often, we will call in our order and enjoy it at home. ”

“This is the absolute most unique pizza you will have had in your life! the atmosphere here is relaxing and a little on the romantic side but still family friendly and you can let loose. Prices are fair and you certainly get what you pay for. I never thought that any pizza was better than another until I came here. My friend Kate owns it as well as Kate's on State, which is another one of her fine establishments.”

“My go to place for dinner! If you are in the mood for some real cajun food, alligator fingers, and the best nachos in town while flying carp soar above you then this is the place for you! Head upstairs after dinner for some martinis at the Starlite lounge, or go there for happy hour and 1/2 off apps! Did I mention the nachos? ”

“Located right across from UWL, this restaurant serves breakfast and lunch. We usually go there for breakfast (which is served all day) and really enjoy the B.Y.O.B- Build your own Breakfast...which really lets you tailor your breakfast to your exact tastes. Gluten options are available. We also love the omelettes and pancakes made with Pearl St. Brewery's Downtown Brown. With a full bar and vast menu, this is the place that will make both the burger lover and veggie lover happy. Search for them on Facebook to see their menu.”

“I love this place. The food is great. If you are a sports fan the bar has lots of TV's. There are booths for quiet intimate meals. The staff is great with families. My favorite is the Caesar salad, but their burgers are famous too.”

“ It's a cool 80's vibe with excellent breakfast. Usually busy...there could be a short wait...but the food is great! Be sure to say hello to my friend, Mark...the co-owner.”
